Playing the first plotline as an Au Ra and getting to the elezen hating on dragons was such an experience. I was constantly like "But, I'm a dragon!" and my friend kept saying "Shhh no your a lizard its fine-". I could see this being a problem with Laderus who wants to point out he is in fact a dragon person even if its not a good time to remind people of that-

Three (3) Simple Suggestions.

Q: Pretend I’m brand new to the zero waste movement and want to get started. What are the top 3 easy things you can recommend? Like, beginner level? What would come across as a simple way for me to begin my journey?

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ A: Everything is situational, so it’s hard to give a blanket suggestion that anyone can do to start making more sustainable choices and changes in ones life. From my experiences (mostly failing) this is what I’d suggest, at this moment in time, for 3 simple places for beginners to start.

First, I’d suggest that before you start making any changes and choices, you make the decision to be a more sustainable person who aims to live a more low waste and sustainable life. This means changing your thought process, your identity, or belief structure to mirror what you want to become. 

Example: go from “I’m a person wants to live a low waste life” ..to… “I’m a person who lives a more zero waste and sustainable life”. 

You are telling yourself who you are and want you want to be. And in your daily life you can ask yourself something to the effect of: “Would a zero waste/sustainable person do this? …purchase that?” Thus, you’re creating a mindset that everything else is built upon. Once you have the mind set in a direction where you want to go, and who you want to be, then the decisions will feel more inline to your identity. 

If you don’t change who you are, your beliefs, your systems of thought (etc), then any amount of suggestions that I tell you will never stick if you don’t believe you are that person who is making those decisions and changes. 

The second thing I would suggest is take everything one tiny incremental step at a time. Don’t concern yourself with any sort of ultimate goal. Don’t over do it to the point of burnout. Don’t take more than you can eat. Focus on the one tiny step in front of you. 

It might seem like your tiny step will not make any difference to your situation (or the worlds), but I kid you not; all of those tiny minuscule steps will add up to big changes. 

The third thing I will suggest is to research. Research. RESEARCH! But again, in tiny increments so you do not get burned out or overwhelmed and quit. 

I say research as my third suggestion as that is how you will find what you need. You want more sustainable (insert anything here)? Look it up. Look it up some more. And then repeat the process and compare what you found previously. Look at as many different places, sites, blogs, articles, stores, reviews, science, etc. Look at all aspects of the item or service in question: origin, ingredients, cost, how it was made, who made it, travel distance to you, are they not being transparent, do they have good customer service, how are their items packaged, etc. 

It’s a lot to do. But it is all worth it to avoid making bad choices. I do this for everything in my personal life, and for everything that happens at my shop (Zieros) in Dormont (Pittsburgh, PA). 

But I’ve been doing this for over 17 years now, so it’s common place for me. It’s part of my daily habits. If you are just starting out, take is slow, small, tiny steps, and do not over do it. Break your research down into small increments if you need to. Do it at certain points in the day that fits best with your schedule. And eventually it will become a habit where you “want” to do it, and/or its automatic. 

So! There you go. Those are three things I’d suggest when you are first starting out so that when you do want to make a change, you have a solid core to start with. 

Remember: 1 small tiny step, 1 item or practice at a time.

Got asked this one a couple times, so I guess that's gonna be a couple outfits! For the first one we'll go with an umodded outfit that she wears really often in game! This is one of her bard glams.

Malika wears a lot of short skirts with thigh highs and these boots (the Antiquated Storyteller boots) are seriously my favorite. I put the rest of the outfit together based entirely on wanting to wear those boots because I love their red undersides! Thank you for the Ask!

What caused you to start writing? What was your key point?

Take this with a grain of salt ‘cause I can’t remember for sure, but I think at some point I just kinda... Outgrew toys, but not playing itself. Toys just weren’t doing it for me anymore for whatever reason. Idk where I got Sims 1 and later on 2 from, but yeah I had those, so I kinda migrated to playing them instead of playing with my toys.

But, games come with limitations, and I didn’t like that. I read a hell of a lot when I was younger, so literature wasn’t unfamiliar to me.

I expect that eventually led to me doing away with all the middlemen when it came to creating stories. Begone physical objects I need to move around, begone restrictive games, it’s just me, my imagination and the keyboard and I can do WHATEVER I WANT.

Or pen and paper at times, even.

I’m pretty sure I stumbled upon rp by accident at around the same time and then it was like “omg I can do this thing with other people?”

And that is the road I have been on since!

Who was your first OC?

It was a fucking magical wolf on this weird semi-rp wolf site. I had an absolute wolf phase happen at that time due to finding that place.

In my defense I was an impressionable teenager only just finding out about this rp thing and rather excited over it.

She was kinda godmodded and stuff, but to her credit! She did live on for quite some time even if my time actively rping her was very short-lived. Got turned into this dragon OC along the way? I don’t think she originally really had any personality to speak of because actually creating characters was a skill I acquired slightly later on, but yeah she gained some over time and become a bit more fleshed out, even if I proceeded to never use her anywhere.

She doesn’t really exist anymore, because after the redesigns she’s had over the years she’s not really the same thing anymore. I still don’t use even her newer, redesigned version, ‘cause eh. I’m not particularly attached to her, as much as I also haven’t entirely abandoned her.

Just figure I should remember where I came from and how far I’ve come since those days, skills and everything else wise. She’s my reminder.

I wanted to put a different spin on what we would consider to be Necromancer's. I fell in deep love with the Priests of Rathma from Diablo since they aren't categorized as wholly evil or wholly good. I wanted Valerian to be a guardian of the balance, using his gifts to bring peace to the dead and ruin upon those who would tamper with the delicate scale.

I am really glad that you both appreciate me take on it and how I try to make it work in the context of FFXIV, I hope to continue to be a space where I can break the mold of what a Necromancer can be. in the context of fantasy.

Twin Stars Bound in Crystal

Here are some information on Ziero and Zeryde, my current Warrior of Lights, and 'twin' Azems (in which the seat of Azem was held by two ancients and the stone split in half).

They exist in a canon-adjacent timeline that follows the MSQ almost exactly, with some alterations (mostly that Estinien's dragonblood is woken up by Nidhogg possessing him and changes him physically)

Ziero Gahjewesfv - Gleaner of Light

A Veena from Sharlayan in his early thirties who just wanted a simple life, damnit. When Ziero was sent out on a gleaner mission, he did not expect to take several years to go home to Sharlayan.

Dutiful to a fault, Ziero is a caring man who falls hard for those who look at him like he's the sun in their sky. He often tries to bottle up his anger and frustration, until his darkside rises and he explodes in rage. He also believes he's cursed with killing his lovers; his lovers keep dying off on him and he's very sick of it.

Zeryde Azdaj - Scalebound in Light

A monk of the Radiant Host, and unwitting spy for her shatrap in Eorzea. An ancient Allagan experiment long put in stasis, Zeryde isn't exactly sure when she 'woke up', and generally will tell you she's around 20 to 25 summers in age. She is sent to Eorzea to 'learn and grow' and stumbles into the limelight almost by accident during an Adventure Society mission in Outer La Nosaea.

Ryde is stoic and quiet for the most part, keeping her desires and wants to herself. Overtime she learns to open up, and becomes aware that she's incredibly naive to the way the world works. She can be jealous and greedy when she lets her baser instincts take over, and absolutely vicious in combat. Estinien is the one outlier, the who seems to be able to read her at all times and brings out something primal in her soul.

First Encounter With the Scions: Mid Titan fight, quite literally

Ziero Gahjewesfv: Found family, more than a brother though she's not really sure 'what' they are, really

Alisiae: Found family, will protect with her life, kinda has a thing for her

Alphinaud: Found family, also will protect with her life, has less of a thing for him than his sister

Estinien Wyrmblood: It's... complicated. They're bound together in a way she can't explain, and he awakens something in her blood that roars for his presence.

Haurchefaunt Fortemps: She loved him, though tried to not get in the way of him and Ziero's relationship. Until he made the first move.

Meets Ziero and the Scions mid Titan fight

She encounters Estinien one evening on a walk in Corthes while they're dealing with the heretics (he pins her in the snow, all snarls and sharp edges, and all she can say is "by the twelve you're gorgeous")(yes that one scene from princess monoke)

She finds G'raha mildly annoying, but is amused with how enamored he is with both her and Ziero

Midgarsomrs' blocking access to her blessing actually wakes up her blood -more-

The Crystal Braves' betrayal comes at no surprise to her, and while she's furious with Alphinaud for his naivete, she also can't fault him for it (bc she's naive too)

She falls HARD for Haurchefaunt but keeps it to herself for moons

Traveling with Estinien is a whole experience for her

Nidhogg kidnaps her when he over takes Estinien and she essentially is his prisoner for most of the post HW story

Nidhogg - and by extension Estinien - lay claim to her and awaken her dragonblood

Estinien going AWOL does not help her as they go into Ala Mhigo and Doma

Being shunted through time and space ALSO DOES NOT HELP. Raha summoning her into the First breaks the soul bond between herself, Estinien and the reminants of Nidhog inside Estinien

In doing so, she ends up rejoining with her shard from the 13th, and goes reaper/monk

Her voidscent manifests as her dragon half

Her voidsent is a sassy little dragon

Arym Neim'leif: Tbf she's just stuck at the lead into to Ultima Thule but I haven't had a muse for her in a year

W'eleneill Bernd: I have a complicated relationship with her and her FFXIV character, and she's happy to sit on her island retreat with her giant wolf. I haven't even done recent patch content with her, though will probably revive her briefly to go through the next expansion (as one does)
