Part 2
Your POV
Another night on the Boardwalk. Your second one here. You decided to explore the area a little bit more. These thoughts of possible danger from other vampires, of them hurting your family... They were too much for you, you needed something to get your mind off of it.
- I'm telling you, this town has more secrets, than it seems.
- You, a simple boy, need to be extra careful around here!
- You guys a little crazy, know that? - oh, that's the voice you knew! You stopped and looked at the comic book store nearby. This conversation peaked your interest, not only because there was your nephew Sam, but because of the tones of it.
- There are dangers far beyond your and your family knowledge.
- Yea, we know more, but if you want to know more and join the fight, you'll need this, - you heard rustling for a few seconds, and then Sam chuckled.
- Vampires? Seriously? You believe in these horror stories? - to say you were surprised - to say nothing. There were children's voices, but they were telling Sam about vampires. He and Michael didn't know about you, it was a secret shared by you and Lucy, plus your dad. So now, letting them in even in a fact that vampires exist... Seemed very risky. Especially in a town like this. And why did these boys know? Could it be, there were hunters too? Your sire told you they train their kids from the moment they're born, though you've never met them. Could it be?..
- It's not horror stories, it's truth! You need this to survive here! - you came close enough to see Sam being cornered by two nerds with a comic book. You decided to save him.
- Sammy, there you are! I thought you've already gone home, - you smiled widely, coming into the store. Boys jumped and turned around. No, not the hunters, they were too of a scaredy-cats. But still, this talk...
- Y/N, hey! - he smiled and pushed through the boys.
- What are you talking about, you look so omph! - Sam crashed into you, almost hugging you. Being "the yonger sibling of Lucy", you got used to them never seeing you like a parental figure, but more of a sibling like. - Invested in the theme.
- You shouldn't know, - snapped one of the boys. They were collected again, and you raised your brow with a smirk.
- Wow, no need to be so on guard! Just asking, gosh, - you raised your hands. Sam let you go and hand you the comic book. "Destroy all vampires" on white cover. You shuddered a bit, though tried to look nonchalant.
-They're offering me to buy this and telling me scary stories about this town, - Sam trusted you a lot, so he told you everything at once.
- It's not horror stories, vampires are real and we're fighting them, and this, - one of the boys pointed at the comic book. - Is a guide how to fight and kill them.
- Really? - you flipped through the pages. - You think you would take a garlic, and throw it in a vampire, and it would work? - you laughed, knowing you adored Lucy's garlic bread. - Or that all of the vampires wear black, capes and mysteriously wink at girls?
- Stop joking! - one of the boys got red from the anger. - This is serious, and you can become their next meal!
- How much? - you asked with a smirk, but more seriously. - If you are vampire hunters, how much vampires did you kill? - you closed the comic book, raising your eyes at them. They looked at each other questioningly. Sam was silent for a little bit and decided to dissuade the situation.
- We are just kids, not some kind of a heroes or hunters. I imagine things too, but this... Horror stories, and I don't like them, - Sam shrugged. - But I'll come in couple of days for The Superman anyway.
- See ya, let me know if you catch someone, I'm interested, - you walked off with Sam, still laughing at them, but feeling nervous inside. They didn't look like stereotypical hunters, but who knows.

3rd person POV
- There they are, - Paul nodded at the direction of a person, coming out of comic store with a boy. David looked over at them. The boy was a younger son of Lucy, their final target. They wanted the big brother first. And this person... Their conversation last night with Max still echoed in his head.
"You know what you have to do, it's not a discussion!" - of course he was pissed. Someone tried to steal a woman from him. Max was too proud man for that.
"We won't kill them," - David was angry at him too, this screaming fit going on for couple of hours, nearly coming to the sunrise. Max grabbed him by the neck, making all of them tense up and even growl.
"You will. Because that's what I order you to do"
- David... - he looked at Marko. He was nervous, obviously. They all were. - They smelled too good, what if they...
- Too loud, - he puffed out the smoke. He still couldn't hear their heartbeat because of how loud the Boardwalk was. Marko told them they smelled too good for a human, so they wanted to know whether or not they were mortal.
- Are we gonna... - Paul couldn't stop his fingers from messing with his bracelets, the sign of how nervous he was. Of course, not every day their sire orders them to kill their mate. All of them were conflicted. Their instincts told them to protect the mate. But they were ordered to destroy them by their sire... Thanks everything they didn't tell Max the truth - he would have done everything himself.
- Not yet, - David flicked the cigarette to the bin. "Distract the kid, make them divide. Marko, make them talk to you, lure them," - he wouldn't say it out loud, not risking anything. Now the boys were on it.
***
Your POV
- They are just imagining things, with all these disappearances and everything, they... Y/N? - Sam stopped and looked at you. You were tense, as you could almost feel like someone has been watching you. - Is everything?..
- Yeah, I'm fine, just lost in thoughts, sorry, - you smiled and patted the boy on the back. You both went in the direction of food stands, but you still were on guard. Of course, Sam knew, if anything - go to the parking lot, he knew your car, but still...
- They are imagining it, right? Mom sometimes told me stories about the monsters behind the doors at night, but... They can't be right, - Sam looked at you. You looked the other way and shrugged.
- Don't know. This is strange town. Look, there are hundreds of drunk teens here. They can argue and fight each other for every little thing imaginable. But they can also be victims of something we don't know. It's safer and easier to say that there is some curse or force that's killing people, than admit their wrong doings.
- Why? - Sam furrowed his brows. You looked at him with a smile. He reminded you of four-year old Michael, who asked you tons of questions before you left your sister and family for nearly a decade, so he won't see you not aging. You returned only when Sam was nearly nine.
- Humans are weird. And proud. And selfish.
- I don't understand...
- Sadly, one day you will, - you pushed him to the ice cream stand. You didn't want to put your own thoughts and logic on the child. He was too pure for your thoughts, even if you couldn't protect him from everything.
Near the stand you had to stand in the line, each of you was in your own thoughts, so you distracted from him a little.
- I'll have chocolate, Sam, you... - you turned to where the boy should have stand.
- I'm not Sam, - the blond guy smiled a little. You furrowed your brows and looked around. The boy was nowhere to be found.
- This little running shit... - you hissed and rolled your eyes.
- But I would take strawberry one, - continued the guy, chewing on his thumb. You looked at him and then it finally clicked. It was The Guy. The Guy from the music and video store. The Guy who smelled divine. The Guy that made you feel something strange, something tugging you to him.
- Sure, - you answered. After getting your order, you give one to him. - Y/N.
- Marko, - he nodded, biting the ice cream. After seeing this, you laughed. - What?!
- A rebel. Biting an ice cream. Brave rebel, I like it, - you smiled and moved along with the crowd down the boardwalk. The guy hurried after you.
- Who's Sam by the way?
- Oh, little one. A child, who's always running around. Just a kid of a woman I live with. You probably remember her from yesterday. We weren't really quiet, - you laughed a little, looking at your new friend from the corner of your eyes.
- Oh, so... You're taken? - he sounded a little bit... Sad? You looked at him more interested now. Not everyone was very outgoing with their... Affections. You liked the straight attention, but usually didn't attract it very much.
- Depends... What, you're interested? - you licked your ice cream, looking straight at him. There was silence for a moment and then wide grin.
- Depends, - he giggled. - You're new here, right? Let's go, I'll show you the wildest rides, - he grabbed your hand and without warning started pulling you towards the attractions.
***
You rode for what seems like an hour or two. You learned that Marko had created this jacket himself, you made him show you the places with the best patches, and to finish it all off you both ate five ice creams at the very least.
- My throat is going to be sore tomorrow, - you joked. - If you know what I mean, - you winked at Marko. He giggled silly and then almost immediately bumped into some punk-looking guy. He was with some company, which already was on guard.
- Watch your step, fucker, - Marko froze for a second and then almost jump at him, but you were faster and put a hand on his shoulder.
- He doesn't worth the restriction from the boardwalk, let's go, - you tried to reason Marko, and he almost listened to you, but...
- Yeah, listen to you loverthing, fucking freak! - now you were done. You splashed your milkshake in his face and punched him in the nose. Then you grabbed Marko by the hand and... Yes, ran away. His friends chased after you, but you didn't care. You could fight them, with Marko at your side you'd easily win, but... You stil didn't trust yourself and your hunger enough to be sure you won't just eat them at the plain sight.
Marko laughed and tugged you in the other direction. Obviously he knew the place better than you, so you trusted him. He ran through the crowd to the railings and jumped over them. You followed after, obviously not ready, and fell... On your butt. Marko laughed at this loudly, but you jumped to your feet and dragged him under the deck, pinning him to the wooden post and shutting his mouth with your hand. The company, who dared to follow after you, ran past your hiding spot, but didn't notice you.
You smiled widely after a minute or so and looked at Marko, only now noticing, that you both were very closely pressed into each other and your hand was still on his lips. Even when you release him, he wasn't smiling, it seemed like he was thinking of something.
- Marko? - he looked at your eyes and you thought your heart would skip a beat if it was still beating. His big doe eyes seemed so warm and deep, they almost glowed. He licked his lips, and your eyes darted to them for a second. - You're fine? - you whispered. He nodded.
- Yeah, let's... Let's go, - you almost swayed closer to him, but stopped yourself. You pulled away fast, before you could think otherwise and do something regrettable. You turned away from him, gritting your teeth to keep yourself calm, not noticing his facial expression, nearly the same.
You both went back. You were silent, trying to understand your emotions and feelings, Marko, possibly, trying to understand something of his own also, keeping all to himself.
- I... Probably need to go and find Sam, it's late, - you stopped and looked at Marko. He looked back at you and grinned.
- Yeah, understandable, see ya, - you looked around and... Quickly pecked him on a cheek, at the same moment going away.
- See ya, cutieface, - you waved at him and moved to the parking lot. And yep... Sam was already there.
- Took you long enough, I thought I need to go find mom, - he pouted.
- No need to disrract Lu from anything. Let's go, - you followed him to the car, but there was only one thought on your mind, that was very hard for you to accept at the moment - Marko's heart wasn't beating, you didn't hear his breath... He was a vampire. And probably his "brothers" he told you about were too. You were interested and afraid of them at the same time. You opened your window and took the cigarettes, being very nervous. You needed to get an advice, as these thoughts and feelings were too confusing for you.

3rd person POV
- You were supposed to lure them in, and you went on a date with them? - David was irritated, it was very hard to operate in a situation like this as it was, and now this. He didn't know what to do to please Max and keep everyone safe.
- They called me cutieface and kissed my cheek, - Marko smiled dreamily. - And they promised to meet with me again. Near the carousel.
- I want a date too, - Paul pouted suddenly and looked at the boys. Dwayne sighed.
- You can call the boardwalk a date. Plus very romantic meal near the bonfires, - Paul snickered and punched him in the shoulder.
- Guys, I need you to be serious, they can be in grave danger, and Max wants everyone but them turned and... - David looked at everyone, but was met with 0 reaction at his irritation. - Geez, fine. But first, we need to act on plan. Tomorrow we'll deal with Michael, Star already let him see her. After that - Y/N... - David said the final word. All of them agreed - they still needed more time to think of how they should save their new mate out of this situation.
