I very much doubt the author realizes he's done this but this final arc proves Stain right that most of the pro heroes are thin skinned gloryhounds that only help people for the fame and plaudits.

It'd have been damn interesting to see one of the heteromorph pros still busting their perhaps-literal tail to save people because they're used to potentially getting negative reactions from the people they're trying to help but are doing it out of a genuine desire to do good in the world.
