I honestly hope this info is correct. It's petty AF but I'm glad tptb projected so high and TW fell short at every turn (even the pilot which had the best ratings didn't live up to their projections) because more than one ego involved here desperately needed this reality check (one in particular, but definitely not the only one).
It is one of those things that sounds to good to be true, but Karma is a Jared fan! LOL!
What's crazy is that most everyone in the fandom could see this train wreck coming a mile away. From the very first announcement, people were saying that doing a John and Mary love story was a dumb idea. They gained back some "fans" when it became a "stick it to Jared" project, but likely lost more when the first script was leaked and people saw that it was an absolute wreck.
I'm surprised that the network or advertisers didn't pay attention to fan reaction (unless they were looking at the artificial likes/dislikes ratio from the trailers), or that CMP ignored audience reaction as well. It's not unheard of for projects to take a complete 180 turn if it's not being received that well. CMP should have scrapped the original idea and taken one of the many other offered spin-off ideas that fans presented and would have been more on board with. But then... Dean couldn't be in those. LOL!

Seeing that I have accumulated a variety of fandoms, it feels like a convenient time to make a pinned masterlist of my fics for easy reference. Currently, I am actively writing fics for Interview With the Vampire & Supernatural.
Here is a direct link to my ao3 profile.
Interview With the Vampire
in the deafening polar province called You
Pairing: Armand/Daniel Molloy
Length: 150k
Rating: E
Summary:Daniel is sprawled out across the bed, loose-limbed and lazy, somehow filling all the open space it has to offer and leaving Armand to nestle into the gaps. His cheeks are flushed, blood pooling like it knows what comes next. Maybe it does. Armand was reading about classical conditioning the other day. About dogs who become accustomed to getting food when their handler rings a bell.
Perhaps Daniel is the dog, Armand’s teeth sharp bells reverberating in his veins. Or perhaps Armand is the dog, Daniel’s blood a song rattling in his ears. He has been a dog before. He runs his tongue along the bow of Daniel’s collarbone, gathers the salt-sweat there and imagines what it tastes like because Daniel does.
Armand remembers he loved Daniel, once, and that Daniel loved him. Or a version of them did, at least. It isn't his intention to go back to that, but it's not not his intention, either. Such is the prerogative of an immortal: to hold two contradicting desires simultaneously. If nothing else, it passes the time while he waits for this miserable interview to end.
You might like this fic if: You're looking for a vague mixture of book canon and show speculation, You like Armand POV, You enjoy flashbacks and memory fuckery, You're looking for a longfic and willing to follow along while I write it.
Supernatural (Destiel)
how we're stuck in entropy
Length: 211,563 (complete)
Rating: E (Major Character Death, not Dean or Cas)
Summary:
Sam makes one last deal.
Cas comes back. And Dean gets him back. And together they get something.
Something about humanity, about living even when it hurts, especially because it hurts. About building a home for loss inside your chest, and making your heart a place where the dead live when they die. About being selfish, about belonging, about deserving both. About choice, and a life lived, and learning to lay down arms so that your hands might hold something softer.
You might like this fic if: You want a post-canon fic that doesn't quite fix it but does give them their love story, you want a story that's about grief and joy and all the ways they coexist, you like a character driven story
virga(e)
Length: 71,924 (complete)
Rating: E
Summary:First, before anything, there was want.
In one version of this story, Dean Winchester hasn't stopped moving since the day his father died. He hunts across the country but always comes back to California with the half-hearted hope of visiting Sam at Stanford, and an endless, restless, ceaseless pull to the desert.
In one version of this story, Dean Winchester finds himself in the scorched heat of a Death Valley summer, on a hunt for a ghost. Or a purpose. Or an answer to the question that’s been tugging at his tendons for as long as he’s lived.
In one version of this story, all Dean Winchester has ever done is want, and all Castiel has ever done is wait.
You might like this fic if: You love AU's and/or Stanford Era!Dean, fics about the desert, nature as a metaphor for choice, mystery-adjacent plots, or bite-sized longfics.
whatever dust is left (WIP)
Length: 26k+
Rating: E
Summary:It’s natural to think in terms of checks and balances. He’s been taught – created even – to think in terms of the greater good. The problem, of course, is that Castiel can no longer think of any good greater than Dean Winchester.
He goads Zachariah into sending him to the future, and it’s worth the cost.
He lets that future burn and drags Dean home, and it’s worth the cost.
If all he ever does is stay at Dean’s side, then he thinks that will be worth the cost, too.
Dean and Cas both wind up five years in the future, and the conversations they have there have ramifications that no version of them is prepared to comprehend. Dean doesn’t agree with Sam’s approach to stopping the apocalypse and can’t trust him, Cas has nowhere else to be, and all Dean and Cas know is that at the end, they had each other.
You might like this fic if: You also have endverse brainrot and have thought "what if Cas met his future self, too?", you like explorations of Dean's trauma, Cas' early experiences with humanity, and Sam struggling with darkness, toxic and codependent destiel

Billy meets Daisy at the diner the day they rename the band.
Or: these messy humans are even messier before they get a chance to grow up some.
Or: Daisy and Billy are in love in every universe, but in this one it's a bumpy ride.
You might like this fic if: You want to ask "what if the whole story were different?", you like found-family dynamics, you like invisible strings, you like characters that take forever to do what's best for themselves, you like your happy ending with a heaping side of angst and mess.
all of me an offering
Pairing: Daisy Jones/Billy Dunne
Length: 108,906 (complete)
Rating: E
Summary:
Teddy dies in '83. Daisy and Billy are brought back together because it was never an option not to be. Billy and Camila's marriage has spent six years collapsing. Angst and mess ensue.
You might like this fic if: a fic colloquially referred to as the "affair fic" during the writing process, characters who really really suck but also are learning, a narrative that doesn't make anyone the good guy, angst, grief

ADV Stats: Final Project
## Introduction: The Road So Far...
Supernatural was a long-running TV series that became a cultural phenomenon, airing on The CW for an impressive 15 seasons and 16 years, from 2005 to 2021. The show followed the Winchester brothers, Sam and Dean, as they traveled across America battling supernatural creatures, solving mysteries, and ultimately throwing punches at God himself. What started as a series inspired by urban legends and ghost stories evolved into an epic saga filled with action, humor, and emotional depth. By the time the finale aired, Supernatural had delivered 327 episodes packed with intricate lore, memorable characters, and poignant moments.
While the series concluded on a bittersweet note, trying to tie up many as many of its loose ends as possible, the reception to it's finale was mixed at best. Fans, still passionate about the show, often ask the actors behind Sam and Dean, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, whether they would ever reprise their roles. Their coy response of "Ask us in 2025" has only fueled speculation about the possibility of reviving the series.
Now, with 2025 just around the corner, it feels like the perfect time to imagine what a new season might look like; after all, if I've learned anything from this show, it's that nothing stays dead for long. But after such a long run, the later seasons of Supernatural struggled to maintain the same level of critical and audience acclaim as earlier episodes. To ensure a hypothetical Season 16 wouldn’t face the same challenges, I’ve conducted an Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) of the show’s first 15 seasons. My goal? To analyze what resonated most with viewers and create a plan to maximize Season 16's chances of success.
## Step 1: Data Collection
The data for this analysis was sourced from IMDb - The Internet Movie Database
Observations: 327
Variables: 15
episode_id: The overall number of the episode (1–327).
episode_position: The episode's position within its season (1–16/20/22/23).
season_number: The season to which the episode belongs.
episode_title: The title of the episode.
director: The name of the episode’s director.
writer: The writer(s) of the episode.
air_date: The date the episode aired on The CW.
days_between_episodes: How many days passed between episodes (*aggregated variable*).
views_at_air_mil: How many people (in millions) watched the episode on its air date.
imdb_rating: The IMDb rating of the episode.
mow_filler: Whether the episode was a Monster-of-the-Week-style episode or filler (*Boolean logic*).
episode_genre: The episode's primary genre and subgenre (when applicable).
centric_characters: Which main characters were central to the episode.
s_d_solo_episode: Whether the episode was a Sam-and-Dean solo episode (*Boolean logic; aggregated variable*).
episode_description: The episode's description as listed on IMDb.
The primary variables used in this analysis include: imdb_rating, episode_genre, centric_characters, mow_filler, season_number, and episode_id
Before I began my analysis, I needed to perform some general data cleaning and a couple of data aggregations. The code below loaded my dataset into RStudio, removed the NA columns, and separated the episode_genre category into Primary and Secondary Genres.
Meanwhile, this code created a new column called rating_category, which allowed me to classify all of the imdb_episode_ratings into categorical factors, which I used to color my data visualizations.
## Step 2: Written Documentation
Problem Description: The goal of this analysis is to explore what worked well in the first 15 seasons of Supernatural and use those insights to guide the development of Supernatural: Season 16. By examining key patterns from the show’s past, I aim to provide recommendations on several crucial aspects for the new season, based on the following research questions:
Primary Genre Focus: Which genre most resonated with audiences across plot-driven episodes in the first 15 seasons? I plan on using this as the primary genre for the Season 16 plot
Genre Combinations: Which primary and secondary genre combinations led to the highest average episode ratings?
MotW/Filler Ratio: What is the ideal balance between Monster-of-the-Week (MotW) (episodes with self-contained plots and conclusions) episodes and plot-driven episodes? Is there a correlation between MotW percentage and overall Season reception?
Characters: What character(s) had the highest episode ratings throughout the series?
Related Work: This analysis was primarily inspired by the TV showing graphs that get distributed once a series finale airs. This analysis was specifically inspired by this post:
where a Reddit user shared an episode rating distribution visualization, which I sought to recreate in my preliminary EDA process (visualization 1). However, I personally haven't seen a genre analysis like this done in any official capacity, so my curiosity drove me to do it myself.
Solution: This analysis primarily used visual distribution (Module 7) and correlation techniques (Module 8), alongside basic time series analysis (module 10) and visual multivariates (Module 9). Initial exploration includes visualizing the distribution of episode ratings across seasons, while heatmaps and box plots are used to identify the most effective genre combinations for Season 16. Additionally, I explored the optimal percentage of MotW episodes for the new season by conducting correlation and time series analysis, examining how the average ratings of MotW and plot-driven episodes evolved over the show's run (episodes 1-327, 2005-2021), as well as how the percentage of MotW episodes correlates with season ratings. To determine which characters should take center stage, I analyze their average episode ratings using bar charts and visual distribution analysis.
## Step 3: Data Visualizations
Visualization 1: EDA
This first visualization was created primarily for data exploration. The goal was to better understand the dataset's structure and examine how IMDb ratings were distributed across the 15 seasons of Supernatural. I chose to use a heatmap for this purpose, with the X-axis representing the season number, the Y-axis showing the episode position within each season, and the color of each tile indicating the episode's rating category, as defined during the data preprocessing (or "data munging") stage.
This chart demonstrates that, while ratings for Supernatural gradually declined as the series progressed, they remained relatively stable throughout its 15-season run. This suggests that there is still strong potential for success with a hypothetical Season 16.
Visualization 2: Primary Genre's
With a clearer understanding of my dataset, I moved on to address the first question I posed for designing a hypothetical Season 16: Which genre should the overarching plot follow?
To tackle this, I filtered the dataset to include only plot-related episodes and created a box plot. This visualization highlights the differences in mean and quantile distributions across the primary genre categories, providing insight into which genres have historically performed better in terms of IMDb ratings.
This visualization reveals that plot-driven episodes with a primarily comedic focus outperformed all other genre categories. Notably, comedy was the only primary genre to achieve an average IMDb rating higher than 9.0, making it a standout choice for engaging audiences.
Visualization 3: Genre Combinations
The code for analyzing how genres interact with each other was a bit more complex than the previous examples. To determine which genre combinations were most effective, I grouped the dataset by both primary and secondary genres and then calculated the average IMDb rating for each combination using dplyr's summarize() function. Once I had the grouped data, I converted the genres into categorical factors to ensure proper ordering and readability. Finally, I visualized the results using a heatmap, applying a similar approach to the code used for Visualization 1. This allowed me to effectively display how different genre pairings influenced audience ratings.
What I found was that single-genre episodes were by far the worst-performing category, whereas Action-Comedies and Fantasy-Horrors stood out as the highest-rated episode combinations. This bodes well for our Season 16 design, as pairing a comedic overarching plot with action-comedy episodes aligns with these findings.
One surprising insight from this chart was that horror episodes, despite the show’s origins as a horror-based Monster-of-the-Week series, performed poorly overall. This may be attributed to the challenges of executing horror effectively in a television format with limited budgets, where poorly executed horror can come across as cheesy rather than compelling.
Fantasy elements in the supernatural usually pertain to different mythologies, such as Christian allegories, Norse gods, and Greek monsters.
Visualization 4/5: MotW / Filler Ratio
With the primary genre of Season 16 decided and the types of episodes identified, the next step was to determine what percentage of filler episodes should make up the season. To address this, I created a scatter plot to analyze the relationship between the percentage of MotW filler episodes each season and the overall season IMDb rating. To better capture the trend, I added a polynomial line of best fit, which would have highlighted the correlation between filler content and season performance. Unfortunately, as you will see, there does not appear to be any significant correlation between the two.
With no apparent correlation between these two factors, I shifted my focus to examining the development of MotW episodes and their ratings over the course of the show's runtime. I plotted episode ratings across the show's timeline and overlaid a linear line of best fit for each episode type. Using this chart, I aimed to explore how audience reception varied between MotW and plot-driven episodes over time, determine which episode type was generally better received, analyze how reception evolved throughout the series, and identify how each episode type performed by the end of the show's run.
This chart demonstrates that, overall, plot-driven episodes were consistently rated higher than MotW episodes throughout the show's runtime. However, the gap between the two began to narrow as the series approached its conclusion.
While both episode types show a downward trend in ratings over time, MotW episodes are declining at a slower rate compared to plot-driven episodes. With each season typically consisting of 40% to 60% MotW episodes, maintaining a similar balance in Season 16 seems like a solid strategy. This approach leverages the relative stability of MotW episodes while still incorporating the high-performing potential of plot-driven content.
It is possible that MotW episodes could surpass plot-driven episodes in ratings if the current trend continues into Season 16.
Visualization 6: Characters
With all my other questions answered, I turned to my final one: Which characters had the highest-rated episode average? The code for this analysis was the most complex of the group. It required splitting the character variable into separate rows, using the summarize() function to calculate the average episode rating and primary genre associated with each character, and then filtering for the top 20 characters based on the number of episode appearances.
I visualized this data using a flipped coordinate bar chart, with the bars colored according to the episode rating categories.
Interestingly, only one character achieved an overall average rating of more than 9.0: Gabriel. While he had the fewest episode appearances among the top 20 characters, this actually adds to his intrigue and potential, as he has many unresolved plot lines to offer a new season. Based on my previous findings, Gabriel emerges as a strong candidate for centering Season 16.
Gabriel is an interesting character in Supernatural because he embodies the archetype of a trickster. His episodes are known for their comedic elements that challenge the brothers' resolve in unconventional and entertaining ways. Furthermore, his story remains oddly unresolved. While he was seemingly killed on-screen in Season 5, later seasons revealed he was not as dead as we thought, simply trapped. In Season 9, there were hints that he may have escaped, but he was never seen again.
Given Gabriel’s high episode ratings, his alignment with the comedic primary theme identified earlier, and the unresolved threads of his story, he feels like the perfect character to bring back as the central figure for Season 16.
## Conclusions
Season 15 of Supernatural left the series in a challenging narrative position: the two main characters, Sam and Dean Winchester, both died and coming to terms with their afterlives. Many other beloved characters (such as Chuck Shurley, Ruby, and John Winchester) were also dead, and the show's reputation for relying heavily on dramatic, last-minute resurrections to resolve conflicts has quickly grown old. To address these challenges while building on what has historically resonated with audiences, I propose the following outline for a hypothetical Supernatural Season 16.
Season 16 would follow Sam and Dean as they navigate their new existence in heaven, struggling to adjust to life after decades of turbulent adventures on Earth. Enter Gabriel, a mischievous and comedic figure whose chaotic antics often force the brothers to confront themselves and their unresolved pasts. Gabriel provides the perfect vehicle for tying up loose ends in their stories, presenting the brothers with a series of action-packed and humorous trials designed to test their resolve and help them and the audience find closure in the story.
The analysis of the Supernaturanl's previous seasons revealed that episodes with a strong comedic focus consistently outperformed other genres, making comedy an ideal overarching theme for this season. Gabriel, who had the highest-rated episodes of all recurring characters in the dataset, would take center stage, using his trickster nature to drive both humor and action throughout the story. The balance of MotW and Plot episodes was identified as not having much, if any, impact on season reception, so past strategies of having a roughly 50/50 split would be used to maintain steady pacing and variety. The decision to set the season in heaven also provides an opportunity to explore fresh storytelling while steering clear of overused resurrection tropes. Additionally, this setting aligns with audience preferences by utilizing fantasy elements.
With a foundation rooted in statistical insights, this proposed Season 16 strikes a balance between honoring Supernatural's legacy and allowing the show to leave off on a better note than its current 6.9 series finale rating.

We were raised at Wammy's House in England, in Winchester, as L's successors, as L's alternatives, but that does not mean we knew anything more about L than anybody else. Including myself, only a few of us ever met L as L, and even I know nothing about L before he met Watari - Quillish Wammy, the genius inventor who founded Wammy's House. Nobody knows what's going on in L's head. But even so, I know how Watari felt. Looking at L's incredible talents from the perspective of an inventor - of course he wanted to make a copy; of course he wanted to create a backup. Anyone would feel the same. As I have already explained, L never appeared in public. L knew that his own death would increase the crime rate all over the world by a few dozen percentage points. But what if they could copy him? What if they could make a backup? That was us. L's children, gathered from all corners of the world. Children gathered together, never told each other's names. But even for a genius like Watari, creating a fake L was easier said than done. Even for Near and I, who were said to be the closest to L... the more we tried to be like him, the closer we got, the farther away he was, like chasing a mirage. So I hardly need to tell you what it was like when Wammy's House was first founded, when he was still experimenting. The first child, A, was unable to handle the pressure of living up to L and took his own life, and the second child, Beyond Birthday, was brilliant and deviant. B stood for Backup. But B tried to surpass L, not become him... no, that might not be right. I have no way of knowing the inner workings of his mind. He... their generation was not like the fourth generation, with Near and I, all the children bound only to the one with the serial L. They were prototypes, never even given the L code, expected to fail. I prefer to refrain from idle speculation based on my own experiences, but, well, Beyond Birthday may have thought something like this: As long as there was L, B would never be L. As long as the original existed, the copy was always a copy.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith and Jane Austen
Read time: 3 Days Rating: 4/5 Stars
The Quote: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in possession of brains must be in want of more brains. Never was this truth more plain than during the recent attack at Netherfield Park, in which a household of eighteen was slaughtered and consumed by a horde of the living dead. — Elizabeth Bennet (these are the first lines obvs)
I wanted to read this after reading The Last Chance Library in which it plays a role in protagonist Jane and Alan's relationship. To start with I want to add some disclaimers, three things that my impact my reading and review of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. I have read Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice but not for about 15 years. Joe Wright's Pride & Prejudice is one of my favourite go-to zone out films. Before reading this I'd never seen Burr Steers's Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. Before starting the review proper I want to add something from the afterword by Dr Allen Grove
"For some fans of Jane Austen, the mere existence of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is a travesty. Why would anyone add gratuitous scenes of violence, carnage, and cannibalism to one of the greatest novels of Western civilization? Somewhere in the nave of Winchester Cathedral, we imagine that Austen's corpse, though presumably dead, must be rolling. Or perhaps not. It's hard to speculate what Austen might think of Pride & Prejudice & Zombies because zombies themselves didn't become popular in literature until the twentieth century. Even Victor Frankenstein' monster, a proto-zombie with no taste for brains, didn't make his appearance until the year after Austen's death in 1817."
For some reason, this feels important to me. Zombies aren't necessarily beyond Austen's thinking but zombies, as we know them, are after her time.
Elizabeth Bennet ends up feeling a little bit like an author avatar, I'm not sure entirely why. She is one of the best of her kind, especially among women, her fighting style matches Jane Austen's Elizabeth so very well. I think combining being her father's favourite, kickass fighting, her whole attitude and the respect she receives in her skill just feels like something Austen would want to be in escapism. But as Grove said so much of this was before her time. That said Mr Darcy just feels the same. He's a competent and deadly fighter, protective of those closest to him. But still not great with the communication or general people skills, as is only right. On the other characters, Jane is brilliantly competent. Just the idea of the five sisters having a specific move they have to clear a room was a great choice to me. Her fighting skill gives her and Bingley's relationship a whole other dimension. She has something over him, he has money, she can defend them if need be. There is an interesting take on Lydia. I like her ending. Wickam gets the ending that suits his character. Without going into spoilers Kitty and Mary have lovely endings. Kitty shows her growth, Mary gets to come out of her shell and her behaviour becomes that of Hearfortshire's last protector. Charlotte and Mr. Collins, well that whole story just feels like it goes so much darker than the original.
Some dot points...
"I have great pleasure in thinking you will be so happily settled. I have not a doubt of your doing very well together. Your tempers are by no means unlike. You are each of you so complying, that nothing will ever be resolved on; so easy, that every servant will cheat you; and so generous, that you will always exceed your income." (Mr. Bennet) — I'm so happy one of my favourite lines in literature remains untouched. I adore this line so much.
"I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It was too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun." (Mr. Darcy) — How do I always forget that is fandom favourite line is Pride & Prejudice?
"What a power it was! But how to wield it? Of all the weapons she had commanded, Elizabeth knew the least of love; and of all the weapons in the world, love was the most dangerous."(Elizabeth Bennet) — This is just a stunning a truthful quote. I'm unsure if it's Austen or Grahame-Smith but I really appreciate it so it needs to be here
The edition I'm reading has illustrations by Roberto Parada. These illustrations are wonderful. They add something to the book. They are period-appropriate almost plate style. The choices of scenes to illustrate was good. Some are key, some just illustrate well.
There are ingenious adaptations to architecture, internal design and landscaping. Especially Pemberly, it is absolutely stunning. Mirroring the Kyoto architecture and internals that Darcy loves so much. Even Longhorn has its own well-used dojo for the Bennet girls. Rosings Park is interesting in its own right but I will avoid the spoilers.
Lady Catherine de Bourgh is possibly one of the best characters in the way she is altered. She is somehow made even more unlikeable. She is made even more ruthless.
The first question someone may have coming into this is... how? Quite simply nearly all the traditional female occupations (the pianoforte, sewing) are replaced by the deadly arts (staged fights, crafting or sharpening weapons). When the ladies go walking there is always the chance of walking into zombies, though they are less common in winter when the ground freezes. It really is just Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice with Zombies added. I do mean added. They influence peoples daily lives therefore the motives for their pivotal actions and key events in the novel. This lore is integrated near seamlessly.
I like the way this all comes together. There are so many lovely passages blending Austen's original text and Grahame-Smith's additions. Some are fun, some not so much. For example, Darcy's reason for separating Bingly and Jane was one I should have seen coming but didn't. (It's another great choice). Changes like this create an entirely different feeling novel. It really is well worth a read, even if you have already seen Burr Steers's film.
After the day after finishing this, I did watch the film. It is a decent film. It is worth noting that it is only "based on" this book. Whereas this has lore woven throughout, the film feels more like a standard zombie au. Kinda like credit was given to Seth Grahame-Smith because it was a lawsuit waiting to happen otherwise. Both have their pros and cons. Overall Burr Steers's film is definitely more palatable to modern audiences, while Grahame-Smith's book holds truer to Austen's ideals. That said there is a brilliant line in the film that totally empowers Elizabeth "It gave me hope." "For what?" "That your feelings towards me may have changed? However one word from you now will silence me on the subject forever. You are the love of my life Elizabeth Bennet. So I ask you now...half in anguish...half in hope... Will you do me the great, great honor, of taking me for your husband?" What I really appreciate is the last line your husband not my wife. He's not claiming her.

Do you have any fic recs for Mary finding out about wincest/weirdcest or just Mary bashing fics? (Maybe you already made a list of fics like this and I just haven't seen it!!)
Your fic rec lists are always awesome :)
DUDE lol~ I didn't have one, but now I do!
I've been working on an outsider POV rec list, so I started there. This only overlaps a little bit with the other list.
Tbh, I prefer Mary POV or nuanced crit fic over straightup bashing fic, so I'm light on that front, but there are a couple here that might scratch the itch. (If anyone wants to add recs of that variety to this post, though, please feel free if it fits the scope of the ask!)

As far as ratings go - TW will also have a MUCH easier time this week because both the FBI's and The Rookie's are repeats so they have very little competition.
What I wouldn't give to see the finale fail against a complete lack of competition. Oh well, we know it's a disappointment ratings-wise for the network as they expected a lot more, and we know they went over-budget and missed their deadlines, I doubt any kind of ratings boost for the final episode is going to save them.
And if anyone was thinking of watching the super-special fix-everything 13th episode tonight, might I recommend using a site that won't provide more viewers for TW. (I'd link to them but my internet has been going in and out every 3 minutes so it's hard to search and link.)

The Biological Ways
by Tossukka | art by Masterofevilmonkeyness
The morning after a company party Dean wakes up alone in a fancy hotel room with a mating bite, no idea who gave it to him, and no clear memories of the previous night. There’s a note left on a table with only unclear initials of the person without any identifying information or a way to contact them. Now Dean must navigate through his hormones constantly going haywire, hiding his mating bite at work, and trying to figure out who his mate is and why wasn’t Dean enough for them to stay.

Check under the cut for an excerpt
Excerpt:
Deciding to think about the mystery more after a shower, a breakfast, and at least two cups of coffee, Dean went to the bathroom, which was definitely nicer than what he had in the apartment he shared with Charlie. He found a complimentary hotel toothbrush and toothpaste and brushed his teeth. He was feeling oddly sweaty and disgusting, so he climbed into the shower. The cool water felt wonderful on his skin, when he washed his hair and let all the stress wash away. It wasn’t usual for Dean to end up in bed with someone and not remember it at all, but shit happened. He would either find out the identity of his mystery lover or not. Que será, será.
When he was finishing up his shower, he felt a twinge of pain at the side of his neck. Without thinking about it, he brought his hand up to brush against the spot and another twinge shot through him. Dean absentmindedly scratched the place, his thoughts still in his future breakfast. His nails caught up in the rough surface, making Dean hiss in pain. He looked at how water washed away the small trace of blood from his fingers.
Wait what?
Fuck. No. No, it wasn’t possible. Fuck, fuck, fuck.
Dean got out of the shower, almost slipping on the wet floor, and looked into the mirror. Shit. That was a mating bite, and last night when Dean had left to the party, he definitely did not have a mate. He wasn’t even dating anyone. This was bad. This was awful.

The roommates
The roommates https://ift.tt/Bb6R8tS by Anonymous There are some things Dean is certain of. He is not the one to speculate on things, but when he knows, he knows, and never has to do second-guessing when asked about it. For example, he knows he loves his family especially his brother, he knows he hates Castiel, he knows he loves greasy burgers, and he knows, for sure, that he and Castiel will always butt heads—no exceptions. That said, there’s also a nagging thought in the back of his mind: could it be that, deep down, he’s developed a sort of grudging affection for his roommate? Nah, that would be absurd. Title: Trust Your Heart And Trust Your Story
Author: hekate1308
Artist: Desviacionito
Rating: Gen
Pairings: Castiel/Dean Winchester
Length: 34484
Warnings: N/A
Tags: Alternate Universe - Magic, Alternate Universe - Fairy Tales, Angel Castiel, Storyteller Dean Winchester, Fallen Castiel
Posting Date: October 28, 2021
Summary: In a world where it could save one's life to know fairy tales and legends, Dean Winchester had been a storyteller his entire life. Preserving stories so people could get the information they needed, Dean knew he was not destined to ever live through a tale of his own. Until an angel crash-landed in his garden.
Excerpt: After all, not every man had wings. Now, that in itself would not have confused Dean very much – having been brought up from a boy to become a storyteller, he was all too used to men having wings – but they normally were either born thus afflicted and therefore the talk of the town, or showed up at the end to distribute gifts and happiness, or to comfort those who couldn’t comfort themselves – they didn’t just… what, fall from the skies? Normally, they did that because they lost their wings, since the sun had melted them due to their own folly, or they had been stripped from them as a punishment, or they had chosen to give them up… Now, someone else might have suggested that the man shouldn’t have survived a fall like this in the first place; but Dean knew better than to be such a simpleton. Anyway, this man still very much had his wings, and he was even now groaning and starting to move. And so, Dean forgot all about his speculations – there was someone who needed his help, that was all that mattered. “Hey” he said, climbing down the crater, “You alright?” The figure only groaned once more, which he took as enough encouragement to carefully trail his light up and down the body in front of him. There was no blood, and no bones appeared to be broken. Of course he’d have to get him inside to be sure… “Come on” he decided, grabbing him and helping him up. All he got were more groans and moans, but that was only to be expected. He must have fallen a long way down. Being very careful for his wings, Dean helped him into his house. “There we go”. After having placed him onto the sofa – he immediately slumped to the side, his eyes closed – he hurried off to find his first-aid kit. Now, he knew how to care for humans, of course; was aware how to bind a demon’s wounds, what to do when a rusalka had been out of the water for too long; but this kind of wings was new to him. Black as coal, and seemingly like a large bird’s… he supposed he would have to treat them like a bird’s wings then, too; and of course there were any other injuries the man might have. Was he even a man? He looked like one, but so did a member of the asrai until they were touched by sunlight and all that was left was a small puddle of water… He glanced longingly at the leather volumes that graced his shelves, those he had written in himself and those he had inherited when taking over the role as storyteller, but it would have to wait. He had to take care of his – he supposed it was a guest – first.

Forget You...
Headed back to Cordonia, mind fearing the worst although Riley hasn’t been missing for twenty-four hours. No contact with her for over two hours sends the King into a panic these days. Has he been so selfish… worrying about his sons that he missed a shift with his Queen? Has she had a setback since taking Anton’s life? Is this causing her to have a sudden downward spiral?... Damn, I should have phoned Dr. Ramirez back then… but I’d have probably been her next target… I hate this uncertainty !!!
“Drake, share another drink with me? Hell, I’m beginning to hate plane rides almost as much as I hate being on boats!” “Now I know you need drinks on repeat! You cannot start feeling that way, Liam… Let’s work on these woes, shall we… You’ve been thrown way too much to deal with over these past years… You’re a great King, but a man can only shelter so much… It’s time for you to process some of what you’re feeling… But don’t take on too much of it at once… Deal?”
“Deal! But I’ll pour my own troubles, bro,” Liam sighs. “Now I know you’re feeling the weight of it all. So let’s pour up some trouble of our own trouble that we can handle much better … “ Drake brings over the liquid relaxation, dropping a few cubes of ice into Liam’s glass as he hands him the bottle…
“Remember when we walked into the bar Riley was in, this is what I ordered for the table because you were late arriving, Whiskey: The Glenlivet Winchester Collection… It shocked the hell out of me when you chose to go round for round with the group,” Drake teases. “I mean I knew the purpose of our trip was to get you away for relaxation before the duties of the Crown took hold of your life, but DAMN BRO, you went in! And the confident stare that you gave Riley, as if you knew right then and there she’d be yours… That’s the zone we are going to live in as of right now until she is safe and secure by your side… Let’s not jump to the worst until we have to.”
At that, they clink glasses in agreement… No further words, only the sounds of their impending relaxation filling the silence and glasses, drink after drink after drink… At some point the bottle empties, both men slumped in their seats, heads thrown back in awkward positions, Drake in deep slumber with his mouth gaped open.
Liam’s phone lights up, ringing silently, and he immediately takes the call. He and Olivia discuss the missed alerts he’d received on his watch sent to him by their Eagle Eye drone system, speculating what would make her activate it in stealth mode if she wasn’t in some sort of distress… His fears resurface and grow stronger as the conversation continues. Sensing this, Olivia offers every comforting word that she can muster… ending the call with a guarantee that she would keep him updated and will be at the airstrip when he arrives home.
The last words he whispers to himself as he rubs his temples, “Come to me Riley, don’t keep me in worry…” Riley approaches him, seeing the look of concentration mixed with panic on his face. “What’s bothering you my love?,” is the faint whisper of words that tickle his neck, just as he feels her hands massaging his shoulders. “That feels wonderful! Don’t. Stop.”
“I have no intention of stopping… I’m here to relax you… So tell me what’s bothering you while I work these tensions out.” His head relaxes into her hand as she massages, a slight moan escaping him. “There is something from my past that has been haunting me… Or someone, rather… I’ve been hiding it all of this time because it brought me great heartache. But things have transpired that are forcing me to face it… something I haven’t done up to this point. My love, the reality of it affects us both.”
As he says these words, he reaches over his shoulder to place his hand over hers, halting her movement. Riley forms no assumptions, she only assures him that she can handle anything, to trust in their love. Her hands now move down his chest, gently massaging his involuntarily flexing muscles, which always naturally respond to her touch. Mustering every ounce of courage, and bracing himself for her rejection, he finally begins…
“Remember our trip to Capri, Italy? … At first I was very reluctant, but you told me that whatever negative memories arising were irrelevant, because we would make our own, erasing those prior... And you said that you didn’t need to hear them because of my discomfort… I should have insisted, but I didn’t know their significance until recently.”
She gives a soft moan, continuing to stretch his head away from his shoulder, repeating for the opposite side as well, then gently rotating his head clockwise and then counterclockwise to keep the tension from building. “I was avoiding memories of a love that ended in disgrace and heartache. I had blindly fallen in love with a married woman, of which I had no idea… but she did warn that she was in Capri to determine if she should stay in the commitment. We had been intimate… totally unplanned, after a tour of the Grotto… which I’ve told you the story behind… Bastien would bring me there frequently, and so on…”
“Our love affair was intense, and we were both caught up in emotions for one another. She captured my heart, and I… I brought her to Cordonia to propose marriage. But before I got the opportunity, I learned that she was married, and her husband had come to Cordonia after her. Long story shortened, she left with him… I later met you, and moved on permanently with you… You were and are my life, Riley...”
She never responded, just continued her massage, with a kiss to his forehead. With his hands clasped together, thumbs battling against each other, he continues… “Sometime around Anton’s death, and our much needed reconnection, I learned that she died in a train wreck… and that she had twin boys… WE had twin boys… She’d never told me, Riley… So, I took this trip to attend the reading of her Last Will and Testament… She gave me custody of the boys along with assets to pass on to them once old enough… I’m so sorry, my love…”

With You...
Silence… that’s what he received… All these words were said behind closed eyes… but now he opened them… To his surprise, and confusion… because this couldn’t be reality… Riley and Alina stood before him... “She’s… She’s dead… how can she be here, and with you?... You’re not furious with me, my love?” She takes Alina’s hand and leads her to Liam. As she moves behind him, she pulls Alina towards Liam, only nodding her head. Alina straddles Liam, slowly undoing the buttons of his shirt, grinding against him…
He looks up at Riley with a look pleading for understanding of what exactly is going on … “Liam, it seems to me that you have a deep love for the both of us… Avoiding your past keeps you from me in our present… This is to allow you to exorcise your past love once and for all, blending past and present, until only your present remains… Don’t question it, don’t fight it...” Never disobeying his Queen, he allows her to tilt his head forward.
Alina has now completely unbuttoned his shirt, which Riley takes advantage of, dragging her nails along his sternum and across his clavicle. Alina lowers herself to her knees, reaching to undo his belt, his button, his zipper… His apparent arousal pushes the zipper free faster than she can pull it. “Lift up, Liam.” That seductive voice… he hadn’t heard it in years, but it sounded just as tantalizing as he remembered. She slides his boxers and pants off as her eyes never leave his… That look of lust she always gave him is even more enticing now…
Riley pulls Liam's head back into her kiss… Her tongue probes his salaciously, as she pulls back to tease her tip against his before taking it again fully… the feel of Alina’s sensual strokes of his inner thighs adding to his excitement. As Alina begins to kiss her way up towards his center, Riley’s hand searches his chest… finding his nipple… teasing her nail around it, then pinching it as Alina takes his erection into her wet, supple lips.
As she slides gently down his shaft, he kisses Riley deeper, one hand pulling her into him as his kiss becomes needy… his other hand gently teasing Alina’s hair before gripping the back of her head to control her movement… Is this really happening? Damn, Riley… I love you! Don’t question it Liam, just … feel… FUCK !!! Riley breaks their kiss, mouthing “I love you” as she moves to where Alina is crouched, working Liam masterfully… He never takes his eyes off of Riley, curious as to what she is going to do next… face deeply frowned in pleasure…
Riley gets on her knees, and begins to undress Alina, teasing her breast while staring at Liam, who is now giving a winding thrust into Alina’s strokes… Riley nods for him to look at Alina as she worships him. His focus now on her intense look, he nears his climax… letting go of her head, pressing his hand against his forehead as it finds respite against the seat. His moans telling of his nearing completion, Riley pulls Alina to standing, Liam’s head snaps up to see why Alina has stopped, aroused at the sight of Riley kissing Alina as she runs her hand through her hair… Alina now undressing Riley before Liam’s eyes.
He watches their display, stroking himself slowly as Riley’s plump breasts bounce as they are freed from her bra. Alina teases both nipples before taking them into her mouth, bringing each to their peak. She begins to kiss her way down Riley’s frame, her hand already providing sensual strokes of Riley’s clitoris, her gasps drawing Liam from his chair. He steps behind Riley, kissing her as she had him before...his hands coming underneath her arms to take her breasts in his large, warm hands. Just as he begins to knead them against her chest, she feels Alina’s tongue teasing her center, drawing her wetness and moans into Liam’s kiss.
She tries to maintain his kiss, but Alina’s finger strokes of her center as her tongue flutters against her swollen and highly sensitive clit, causes her to lose focus… holding her mouth open to Liam, but only able to whimper as she comes hard against Alina’s tongue, now teasing her properly… jutting in and out of her center at a fast tempo. Jealous, Liam pulls Riley back to him, kissing her as he backs her to the chair he was once seated in.
She falls back into the seat, with Liam yanking her downward… spreading her for his taste, devouring her with such passion a fever rushes through her once again, causing a quiver within her that he knows all too well. Once her breathing becomes erratic and she tightly grips her hair, he shifts his position to hovering over her as he thrusts deeply into her.
The sounds of her wetness driving him crazy, with his lust inducing his high for his wife, he forgets Alina altogether… As his climax builds, so does his tempo… his pounding of her center bringing even more love sounds as they groan and clench one another close, needing to feel every inch of skin next to their own.
As her walls milk his erection, he pleads for her to come for him as she pleads for him not to stop. He holds her underside with one arm as he balances against the seat with the other, preparing to bring both of their release with a driving force that will have them both calling out at their finish. “Liam, I-..” “I know, baby… Give it all to me!”
As he feels her begin to cum, her heat against his shaft, he releases his own, both letting out deep moans… Liam telling her that he fucking loves her as she calls his name in that way he longs to hear… As they both convulse through their completion, Liam strokes Riley’s hair giving her one final lingering kiss of love and appreciation.
Feeling tapping on his shoulder, his brow raises in question, until he hears, “Liam! … Liam! … We’ve landed! Time to go find Riley! He darts up in his seat, looking bewildered. “We’re… We’re in Cordonia?” He notices the creased expression on Drake’s face, and quickly tries to compose himself… his head throbbing. “Ahhh! Shhhit!,” he hisses. “Okay, it’s official! No more Glenlivet for you, bro…”
As they finally disembark, he recognizes the redhead standing in the door of her SUV, nodding her head to her right… Liam turns to look at the door opening on the passenger side. He squints, and then races to capture Riley in his embrace as soon as her face appears … “You had me worried, my Queen!” Before she can make a sound, he kisses her as if she has just arisen from the dead. Drake smiles, running his hand through his disorderly hair, and gives Olivia a look of relief and gratitude. He makes his way over and hugs her, to Olivia’s surprise. “Get off of me, Walker!” But he’d never know how much she needed that hug, having worried about Liam’s reaction should she have been unable to find her in time for his arrival…
As the pilot brings their luggage, Drake and Olivia walk to meet him, wanting to give the King and Queen a moment alone, as they breathe their own relief. Once the luggage is loaded, Drake takes the passenger seat as Olivia shouts, “Let’s get you two home!” Finally breaking their embrace, Liam walks Riley to the back of the SUV, with her securely tucked under his arm until he helps her inside. She slides over enough for him to get in, leaning back into his embrace.
“Okay, Nevrakis. How soon can we get these two home?”
“You sure you want the answer to that, Walker? How about we take the long way home and give them more time together under our protected watch?”
“I won’t argue with that after the flight we had. Long scenic route it is, then!”

Continued kiss, even after the director yells "cut!" 😄 for Rowaelin please
This spoke to me and I couldn’t ignore it...
~~~~~
Rowan looked down at the devastatingly beautiful woman beneath him.
Her golden hair had been artfully arrayed around her on the pillow, make-up styled in a fresh ‘I just woke up but haven’t smudged a thing’ kind of way, her eyes glowing and lips tilted in a charming smirk. He was propped up above her on his elbows, beige bed sheet draped over his hips. It was all for the cameras, the three of them that were pointed at them from different angles. But Rowan had seen her like this so many times before in their own bed, except without the modest bra but they were filming a PG movie after all, that he couldn’t help the way his heart fluttered at the sight. Aelin seemed to notice too because that smile on her face turned into something knowing.
His cue came from the director and Rowan delivered his line.
“I love you more than anything, Winnie. I never want you to leave me.”
Aelin’s hand ran up over his shoulders, up to his neck in a way that she knew drove him insane and he had to suppress a shudder.
“Just kiss me, you idiot,” she said lightly.
Rowan didn’t need to be told twice. His lips descended on hers and he tried to remind himself to keep it tame, not to lose control in front of the cameras and make the kiss something that fit within the rating. But it seemed Aelin was in a mood to test his restraint as her tongue sneakily slipped into his mouth, brushing against his. He had no control over the groan that had her sighing into him, matters were only made worse by the way her hand drifted dangerously low, hidden beneath the cover of the bed sheet.
“I said cut you two!” The director's voice boomed over the set and Rowan and Aelin finally broke apart. He had no idea how many times he had called cut before they had heard him, but Rowan sent over an apologetic smile.
“Sorry, Rhys,” Aelin chimed from beneath him
Rhysand was one of the brightest creative stars to come out of Velaris, and he was definitely making his mark on the Terrasen film industry as well. Everyone was fawning over him, the fact that he was one of the most beautiful human beings Rowan had ever laid eyes on didn’t do any harm either.
“You two are disgustingly in love and I hate it,” Rhys said in reply. “You’re just lucky the chemistry works amazingly on camera.”
“I thought you would have learned by now that everything I do is amazing,” Aelin said with a stunning smile.
Rhys just laughed and shook his head as someone called him over to a screen.
Rowan was still braced over Aelin when she slooked back at him and gave him a wink before stretching out in an almost sinful way.
“Aelin,” Rowan growled in warning.
“What?” Aelin said innocently. “I can’t help it. It’s the hormones.”
Rowan’s hand drifted to her stomach, out of sight of the crew that was lingering around. Her stomach was still flat but he could feel the change of it and how it started to firm.
“We’ll have to tell soon, you know,” Rowan whispered as he pressed a sweet kiss to her cheek.
Aelin let out a heavy sigh. “I know. I just like having something for us that no one else knows about.”
With both of them in the public eye it was hard to have any semblance of privacy. Aelin had been batting away pregnancy rumours for years, the media was going to have a field day when all their speculations held some truth.
“I know.” That was all Rowan could offer, that and him being there for her.
“Well,” Aelin said, a tone of resolution in her voice. “I’ll probably be showing by the wrap party, why don’t we wait until then?”
Rowan smiled, knowing Aelin loved to make a scene.
“Alright, lovebirds!” Rhys called out. “Clothes on, we’ve got some kissing to do outside. Let’s not get carried away this time.”
When Rowan looked down at Aelin her smile told him it didn’t matter where they were or how many clothes they had on, she fully intended to get carried away. Rowan wondered how many times Rhys would have to call cut this time.
so I saw someone speculate that no matter how bad the ratings and numbers are for The Winchesters, it is guaranteed 3 seasons since shows need at least that for streaming and Jensen's name. Is there any truth to this magic number 3 and that being the only way the network can make its money back on a show with abysmal ratings? And shows like Reign, Dynasty, and Charmed which had really bad rating all got to 3 as well.
The joke is that Netflix and most streaming services only keep successful shows for 3 seasons (#NetflixCancelEverything), this jives with CW/WB/CBS canceling Reign, Dynasty, and Charmed after 3 years of good streaming numbers but not good enough linear ratings for syndication deals.
So Winchesters will only be guaranteed 3 seasons if they have good streaming numbers.
i was the anon from last week that was concerned that the birthday stunt would drive up viewers, imagine my shock that they actually LOST viewers. How embarrassing must that be for him omg
It sounds like I had a couple of concerned anons, since you're not the first to say this. TW dropped another 20K, and even more blaring (at least to me), was the near complete lack of promotion.
Neither of the Ackles were live-tweeting. Drake and Bianca eventually got on Twitter, but were in a later time-zone, and there was no IG takeover or BTS videos. I'm sure other people will come to different conclusions, but my guess is, and again, just speculating, they got word that the show is being canceled so there's no longer a need to promote it.
