Years ago i saw the most perfect meta takedown on how absolutely awful that whole episode is #i am So sad i've never been able to find it again #it was so good #the ep makes me want to yack #and it's such bullshit from their own philosophies anyway!!!!#the whole season is leaning heavily on spike redemption or rather #spike making himself better and understanding #and the whole show's ethos around this is you have to actively work at making yourself better every day #and having spike be like fuck that #is the show saying actually he's just a monster #so not only did we absurdly focus on spike in s7 they made it all pointless as fuck by their own standards #danni watches buffy #the irony is i don't actually hate spike that much but holy fuck people he's a literal monster #(the take down was basically 101 reasons why this episode is a racist misogynist cesspool btw to summarise)
