#rewatching gravity falls and i forgot that there’s just a dash of aphobia when it comes to soos’s love life#subtle and not super important but still hurtful#i mean he still wanted a girlfriend so it wasn’t like he was doing it just to do it (although he could’ve been idk)#but like. the way that the whole episode made him seem like he was a freak or abnormal or broken for not being in a relationship yet… yikes#i mean he literally puts an ‘out of order’ sign on himself for not being in the dating pool#and his grandma put the added pressure on him to get a date for his cousins upcoming wedding so he wouldn’t look like a failure#and the twins pushing him out of his comfort zone to find romance and a straight romance at that#i know it’s not alex hirsch’s fault since he really did try to give us gay rep but honestly#the whole episode just reminded me of my internalized aphobia and thinking there was something wrong with me for not wanting a boyfriend#idk i just don’t know how people can watch stuff like this and be like ‘this is fine. this totally normal and not at all indicative of a#larger issue of hetero- and amatonormativity’#and i feel like it’s only aspec people who notice these things#idk in my ace feelings
