At first his jealousy isn't noticeable. He seems relatively normal, you are all playing games and having fun. Of course, Peter makes it a point to sit next to you and be your partner. Maybe he's a bit more clingy than normal but it's nothing worth noting.

He is definitely trying to win you everything you lay your eyes on. I mean, he's super strong so it's insanely easy for him. He's taking so much pride in this until Harry starts showing him up. That whole muscle thing where Harry breaks it...geez. Somehow Peter is back to being that same 15 year old boy standing in his cooler friend's shadow.

It isn't until he steps away to get a snack, when he comes back to you and Harry doing the soulmate quizer thing where it gets bad for him... Seeing you guys be declared as the perfect couple really peeved him. Yeah. Those things are stupid and rather inaccurate but...damn just the thought alone really bugged him.

Peter is still in denial tho. He is chalking his feelings up to his best friend taking away his other best friend and not maybe that he's utterly insane for you. He's far too sweet to be a dick so he's passive aggressive.

Peter is actively standing in the middle of you two like.. he's not having it!

Oh my gosh the way his face dropped when you guys started bonding over your favorite ride. The speed demon roller coaster. Peter did try budding in the convo and said it was his fave too but was met with "umm I thought the ferris wheel was.." poor baby. He wasn't able to prevent you guys sitting next to each other on the ride. He's sitting behind ya'll and watching you hold onto Harry while the ride went down was blood boiling...

You offer to go on the ferris wheel to try and sweeten his mood with something he'd enjoy. All that ends with Peter blocking out the endless banter from Harry while he stares you down. There's a part of Peter who feels deeply insecure and scared that you're choosing Harry over him. Everyone else used too, and it's highschool all over again...

When Khadijah met up with the girls in Kapoia's hotel room, she had to tell them every. last. detail. Of course their eyes popped out after hearing her tell them Chace saw them both and looked like he wanted in.

They all shuffle toward the bed lying down with a duffle bag of snacks. Khadijah looked at her phone the time said 6:30pm. Beginning the movie, they fuck up some snacks still sort of discussing early that day.

You were cleaning the counters, quickly wiping your cloth against the marble to rid it of its stains. It's only been just an hour since you opened up your shop, so there aren't many customers. It's all very relaxed at the moment, and you have enough time to prepare the few desserts you were thinking of earlier.

The ringing of the bell cuts through your thoughts and you look up to see someone walk in front the bookstore section of your shop. You smile at him as he reaches you; now standing opposite you. You can't admit but think he's kind of pretty.

"Hello, how can I help you?" You smile, getting your notepad and pencil quickly.

"Hey, could I get a hot mocha with a strawberry scone?" He says. You nod as you write it down on your notepad. When you look up again, you notice he's holding 'A Little Life' in one hand.

"Looks like you're in for a ride," you giggle, gesturing to the book in his hand.

"Oh my god is it actually as depressing as everyone says? I thought they all were just exaggerating," he says, and you giggle a little harder at his words.

"Yes it is! But it's also one of the most beautiful book I've ever read. Reading it is definitely a roller coaster of emotions, but it's all worth it," you smile at him. He returns you the smile as you leave your place at the counter to go and prepare his coffee. Instead of sitting down at one of the tables, he decides to sit on the barstool right in front of your counter.

When you turn around, you weren't expecting to see him sitting there. You feel your cheeks heat up a bit at the quick eye contact you make, immediately returning to your work. Once you've made his coffee and placed his scone on a plate, you go ahead to hand it to him.

"There you go," you say, wiping your hands on your towel as the aroma of the coffee and the scone rises up and mixes in the air surrounding you two.

"This looks absolutely wonderful, thank you," he says, before diving in. There's so much you could do at the moment: prepare the desserts you wanted to in advance, get some coffee going for the afternoon rush, or just help your friend who works at the bookstore section of your shop while you're free, but instead you decide to stay here with this unknown person who suddenly is the only thing on your mind.

"What else do you like to read?" You ask, your elbows on the counter as your hands prop up your face.

"Classic literature, mostly, but I do like to read some of these uh... popular books every now and then," he smiles, biting into the scone.

"Well, if you're looking for popular book suggestions, I would love it if you can read 'The Song of Achilles'. Another roller coaster of emotions. It had me sobbing at 3 am in my room," you laugh reminiscing your memory of crying over a book which stole your heart with its perfect love story.

"I've heard so much about it! What's it about?" He questions.

You take in a deep breathe, ready to give him a detailed synopsis about everything in that book. "Its about two lovers Achilles and Patroclus..."

Since then, this guy, whose name you learnt is Drew, has been coming to your coffee shop almost every single day. You've memorised his order by heart, and you have it ready just a few minutes before his daily arrival time. You always find yourself awaiting for him, taking a peek outside the window every few minutes to see if he's there or not. When your eyes do spot him, they light up like the stars.

"Hey," Drew says cheerfully, as he walks inside and gives you a big hug from his side of the counter. You notice him keep a book next to himself on the counter, and you almost squeal when you look at the title.

"You got The Song of Achilles oh my god!" You yell, trying your best to contain your excitement but failing miserably.

"I haven't started reading it yet, but I'm so excited for it," he smiles at your giddy reactions, your eyes wide and the most beautiful smile etched on your lips. "But there's something I want to give to you."

You watch him curiously as he pulls out another book from his tote bag. It takes you a second to figure out the title on top, but when you do, you realise it's 'Pride and Prejudice'. There are coloured tabs sticking out of the margins of the book, the book is a little torn at the edges indicating it's been used well, and it's also a bit thicker than its original thickness, and you realise it's because of all the post its and notes he's attached in the book.

"You told me you've wanted to read to Pride and Prejudice for so long now," he says softly, "so I got you my annotated version of it. I hope it tells you a lot more about me, things not many people know." He smiles, moving the book closer to you. You remember one of your conversations with him in which you casually mentioned you've never read Pride and Prejudice but have always wanted to, and your heart flutters thinking how he remembers such a little detail.

You look at the book; actually, scratch that; you look at the treasure in front of you with awe. Drew's annotated copy of Pride and Prejudice is sitting in front of you, and it's too tempting to just start reading it right now.

You believe annotations can tell you so much about a person, things tucked so safely in their soul which are only revealed at rare moments. And to have Drew's annotated copy with you, you know you're in for a big ride.

"Drew this is, wow," you whisper, holding the book so carefully in your hands, as if you're worried it's so fragile it will fall apart right at the moment. "Thank you," you look up from the book to see his deep blue eyes looking back at you.

He ever so gently says your name, in a way which makes your heart rush a million miles per hour, and takes your hand in his. "I've never given my annotated copy of any book to anyone ever before," he says. Drew swallows the big lump in his throat before continuing. "You need to know that I've grown to care for you. Deeply. That's why I want you to read it."

You cannot believe what you're hearing. You feel your heart brimming with emotions, and in just a span of a second you wrap your arms around him, pulling him so close to you.

"This means so much to me," you smile, pulling back from the hug. "Thank you Drew."

He only smiles at you, and when you're called from inside the kitchen from one of the chefs, he follows your figure going away as if he's found his whole world in you.

this update feels lacking, especially after the crazy roller coaster ride we got from 2.0 to 2.2.

aventurine's convo with boothill was omitted and i am genuinely upset about this. i wanna know how they come to an agreement dang it!

no reunion between ratio and aventurine, which is not just purely from a shipper standpoint. i think it's definitely a logical choice to have aventurine abstain from boarding along topaz, ratio, and jade, but seeing how ratio is exasperated yet willing to stay [well, for maybe a minute] in a room with boothill despite never knowing him makes me think that maybe ratio found them in the room together plotting the downfall of oswaldo and man, that mental image is funny to me.

argenti's voice is missing! again! why is his EN voice not there? this is the second time this happened and it's quite jarring bcs he's the only one with no voice throughout the whole thing.

firefly is so pessimistic about the bomb incident that i suspected she was sparkle for a moment. every single thing that she said was building panic without any real solution until the very end where she proposed to take care of the bomb herself. also, she said to hurry and was panicking but she sure took a while to deliver a monologue. [not an offense to the VA, mind you, this just feels like a writing/pacing issue?]

caelus panicking after being thrown off the ship, lmao. he came into penacony like a shooting star and that's the only thing on my mind as he fell. if i had chosen stelle, that moment with firefly would be brushed off as platonic by the homophobes, which is not cool. trailblazer/firefly ship is literally dependent on who you chose as your mc. [not that i ship them with firefly, but i've seen ppl saying cae/firefly canon while denying stelle/firefly, which is like... no? the only difference is the gender of the mc, their scenes with firefly are literally the same.]

there are still so many loose ends, tho maybe it's bcs we are only given closure on what we should be aware of as the trailblazer. but after the whole thing with aventurine's background, Ena's dream, the galaxy rangers, robin and sunday, boothill confronting aventurine especially [bcs there's topaz there but he chose to find aventurine?]

after all of that and we got nothing else? hopefully everything will be revealed and resolved in the near future.

OKAY I ACTUALLY HAVE AN UPDATE ON THIS LISTEN UP EVERYONE (AKA. THE THREE PEOPLE WHO WANT TO KNOW):

ALTA has been a liiiiittle bit of a saga (would you believe me if I said I finished it in APRIL 😭🔪 ) but there have been major, major changes made to it since (I had to swap two characters and add more scenes and do a whole lot of clarifying shit and fill plot holes and I feel like I'm writing an actual book at this point).

That being said, I've scheduled a drop dead date on it for in October 2023, so...whatever state it is in on that date, chapter 1 is going out 💀

To be honest, I have become so disillusioned with this fic over time because of my fluctuating feelings towards writing and fandom and the mental health roller-coaster I've been on pretty much all year (I have been UNWELL I'm just gonna say it, and there have been some changes to the therapy I'm receiving that have impacted my creativity, but I think I'm coming out of my deep dark hole finally!!) also I've sort of carved out some really amazing group chats and one on one convos with other people that have sustained me. I've really enjoyed getting to know people better, and I don't even think they necessarily know how important they are to me and my happiness, but they are 💜

anyway, that was a question about alta, and I made it into a love letter to my people, but you know... the people get me through!

more of a note to self but i had a not great therapy appt today which propelled me to move up my follow-up psychiatrist appt ... my therapist wants to change the diagnosis that's on file for me but i don't agree with it. we ran out of time so next time i told her i wanted to talk to her about 1) how this change of diagnosis would affect the treatment plan and 2) going through the DSM 5 for this diagnosis to better understand what she thinks i've exhibited that fits this criteria and why she thinks this is a good diagnostic fit. if anyone has had to navigate a convo like this, what was it like ? for what it’s worth my therapist is a LCSW (so masters degree + state licensure) and I think I really want a second opinion from my psychiatrist who obvs has done way more schooling / training and has known me much longer as I’ve worked with her since may 2022. The entire time I worked with my psychiatrist, I also saw my previous therapist who never mentioned changing my diagnosis. I’m not here to discredit anyone who has LCSW credentials but I’m just concerned after barely a month of treatment she wants to change things so drastically to an even more severe form of mental illness. She was also very insistent on talking to my psychiatrist (which I saw as a good sign bc I genuinely think it’s good for providers to work together for a more holistic understanding of the patient) but now I am fearful that my therapist may have been adamant about this bc she might want to change my meds to fit this more severe diagnosis….which thinking about it makes me scared of losing my mind (no pun intended) bc I have been on a roller coaster of trying to find a medication + dosage that alleviates symptoms and has side effects I can tolerate.

she did say the diagnosis can be amended etc etc but i was genuinely shocked at what she said and i immediately cried after the appt and had to talk to my sisters bc i feel like it came out of left field and was very unexpected and really destablised my sense of self (ironic since the point of therapy is to help me with my problems not create new ones)

i've only seen this new therapist for about a month (first two sessions had tech difficulties so we only talked for like 20 min and have only had two full 45 min appts so far) and this whole time i've felt like it hasn't been a good fit. (at the first appt when i told her about struggling with some eating disorder behaviours and how i play violin to keep myself occupied and to distract from engaging in the behaviours, she said "oh you could also try sitting on your hands" .......like what ?.....did she mean this to be helpful ? like wow, why didn't i try sitting on my hands before, so simple !) after each appt i feel more and more misunderstood, i feel like the diagnostic change is rushed and punitive. i've been through therapy before and no other mental health professional (therapist or psychiatrist) has given me this diagnosis. it's so jarring i actually just rang the clinic and asked to see the notes from my previous therapist i started out with when i first moved to nyc (i really clicked with her and i felt genuinely help and seen and understood by her)

so im v glad in this ep he's able to start moving on!! bc when he told mist & co. "i met u all" i almost cried holy shit. and despite everything the song he sang for guil was so fucking beautiful asdjfhdsjkfh

and fuuuck even with everything that happened saga still encouraged ange (and OZ) to sing and apparently he offered to save yutaka's life like ??? holy shit. classic tsundere but like saga ily

there was so much going on so this is all over the place BUT ! that bit with eve and beth like ??? what is going on ??? i have so many questions ??? 1) ok so what IS eve and beth's relationship?? and 2) we still desperately need beth's backstory ??

and THEN !! bc i have jack tunnel vision, and by extension i love it when the twins interact (purely brotherly interaction!!!), gosh that scene with robin and jack having an actual meaningful convo fuuuuck. and while i was combusting the whole time watching jack (bc i love my hubby), im glad the scene reminded me of why i actually love him besides instincts alone. i always thought jack has much more wisdom in him than he seems and thinks through things much more deeply than assumed and i'm glad this scene shows us that a bit more. maybe in the future i'll go off on a more elaborate tangent on jack but that's for another day

bc fuck. we finally got sagajack crumbs in this ep. (note : before anyone yells at me for looking (dis)respectfully at sagajack, 1) i still dk how i feel about it and 2) i hv my own hc abt them that may be a little bit removed from canon) FUUUUCK when jack laid his head on saga's lap AHHHHHHHH

i love their dynamic. i just simply fucking love it

and also the low quality jack on the bridge lmao that's so fucking cute and for what ([whisper] for saga obvs)

and uhhhh,,,guil came back to life with the power of the moon ??? that's a whole thing. i'm glad OZ questioned it instead of treating it as something that just happens normally. from what i understand no one is giving their life away for guil yet so there's that. but like, why were they singing naked ??? (i thought that's dimitri's thing only lol

i think that's all for now. my mind is still reeling even now holy shit. and next ep is the last WTF?? im NOT ready for VP to end fuck. and next ep is titled "angelist" which basically means there will be expectedly a fuck ton of ange drama and im not ready

god i can tell im gonna be so deep into the VP fandom for the foreseeable future. the start of the year i said sk8 saved me from the pits of hell. and now i think VP literally just roller coastered me straight back to hell then yeeted me directly into heaven and god rly just keeps ping-ponging me between those two. and in between these, sonny boy took me apart and put me back tgt and left a permanent hole.

Afterwards you two go for a walk around town. He’s much less nervous now and talks enthusiastically for the rest of the date

Then it’s a rush back to campus.

When he picks you up, he gives you a single red rose, blushing and glaring in embarrassment the big tsundere

The two of you watch a comedy and everytime you laugh, you lean into his side which puts him over the moon, despite his nerves and he puts an arm around you on the sly

Thank god for extra strength deodorant and baby powder to help his sweaty palms (he gets crackly hands when he’s nervous 🥺)

The movie breaks the ice and he offers for you guys to go to an all night diner where you two can talk

Bakugo is surprisingly subdued and calm with you and has a great sense of observational humor that makes you laugh

When he takes you back to the dorm, you give him a kiss and he can’t help but pull you in to deepen it

Much like the Bakusquad, the Dekusquad helps boopie through the entire process

They propose a fun park (cuz baby boi be kinda bland if he has to come up with discussion topics)

When he picks you up, You’re PSYCHED about the date which makes him smile.

He’s excited both because the two of you get to be together, but also because he’s never been to an amusement park

You guide him through how to enjoy a park. You guys get cotton candy (which Shoto is fascinated by because of how it melts in his mouth)

He discovers that he loves roller coasters and the two of you ride every one of them

You both have an absolute love for water rides, however, and have a ball on them

By night time, you guys hold hands, walking around the lit up park and find a restaurant to eat at out there.

Shoto tries to keeep the convo light and focused on you and is absolutely fascinated by the stories about your friends and family

You two cap off the night with a Ferris wheel ride and a kiss
