11 Facts for Followers

I was tagged by the illustrious @ruinsrebuilt. So exciting! These 11 facts… maybe not so much, but here they come anyway!

Rules: Tell your followers 11 random facts about yourself and tag 11 people in return! Tag backs are allowed but you mustn’t repeat any of the facts you mentioned previously! The facts can be absolutely anything! Whatever springs to mind! Let’s get started!

1) I am legit addicted to music. If I don’t carve out at least an hour a day to sit in my room by myself with my giant headphones on, people suffer. Mostly me, but the fact remains.

2) I’m violently allergic to nickel, wasps and seafood. My skin breaks out in hives if you give it so much as a stern glance. I’m a delicate flower (not a real flower!! LEAVEMEALONEWASPS!!)

3) I live in Minnesota where it’s currently -14 F and everything is balls deep in snow. It looks like a magical winter wonderland but feels like burning ice death. I’m from California originally so this dichotomy is still a thing I’m trying to wrap my head around.

4) I’ve worn glasses since I was 3 years old and have suuuuper shitty eyesight. I have 20/200 uncorrected vision as opposed to the standard (unimpaired) 20/20. That’d be considered legally blind if it wasn’t correctable. My ophthalmologist says I’ll have to have surgery at some point just to “maintain vision”. Nice.

5) I spent a summer backpacking around Ireland with my sister when I was 17 and she was 21. I had just graduated high school and she had just graduated college. There were shenanigans. Definitely one of the best experiences of my life.

6) My lizard Long John died last night and I am far sadder about the little dude’s passing than I thought I would be. RIP, my scaly homeboy. :(

7) I should be writing right now. I’m working on my first fic for the BoB fandom (a webgott thing that is getting out of hand in the best and worst possible ways) but whenever I get the time to actually WRITE I have no motivation and whenever I have the motivation, I have no time/energy/computer access. Ugh. Whyyyy??

8) I hate wearing shoes. As I mentioned, it’s -14 outside right now and while I have no choice but to wear two pairs of socks and huge boots when I brave the tundra to get the mail, as soon as I get in the door my feet must. get. naked. Like, I’d rather have cold bare feet than socks on. Ugh. Socks. No. 

9) 11 things is really kind of a lot. Like, apparently I’m really boring?

10) At 33, I’m probably almost old enough to be your mom. But I’m surprisingly ok with this? I am an actual mom, so maybe that helps. I have two little girls of my own but ISTG I will adopt you too if you give me a reason. Do not tempt me. I will go Carwood Lipton on your ass so fast. I’ll make you snacks after school and ask about your day and give you advice and maybe make inappropriate jokes that embarrass you after a few glasses of boxed wine. I don’t know. I’m just saying, if you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here. And take a sweater, it’s supposed to get cold later.

11) Ok last one! We’re almost there! Um, ok. I’m equal parts terrified by and enchanted with the ocean and space. I almost drowned when I was 9 and I had some trouble getting past that. Never had any space related trauma thankfully, but you know, it’s the same concept - vast, unfathomable area unsuitable to sustaining my life naturally. Kind of freaky. But beautiful and awe inspiring all the same.
