Misconceptions!

•Most people(and some beginner gal) think that bimbo”core” is gyaru, but that isn’t true! Although they do share some traits(usually blonde hair, usually being seen as a sex object by old men, long nails.) they do have a difference from where they originated: bimbo is a term made im the west(USA) and gyaru was created in the east (Japan). There’s also a difference in fashion; although both cute, gal fashion stems from not wanting to be part of Japans strict beauty standards(black straight hair, pale skin, etc) and doing things like dying their hair to brighter colors, tanning, and colorful clothing! Bimbo was specifically a sexualization of white, naïve women who were thin. (Common characters associated with this culture: Elle woods, Lorelei Lee, etc) You could look more into this but just TLDR; Gyaru isn’t bimbo core as Bimbocore isn’t gyaru, so don’t call gals bimbos.

• Differentiate kawaiicore from gyaru. Although there is some sub styles in gal that can be seen as cute, it’s really just in the makeup/nails/hair and stuff. What I mean is don’t dress in kawaiicore and call it gyaru, it’s a real big ick for others.
