Otherkin headcanon post because mine never get accepted into those headcanon accounts
// Starting with the most conventional ones
Luz, from the owl house
A LOT of people say this, but i fully believe it. She's canonically very versed in internet culture. I believe it would stem mostly from hyperfixations (i believe it does for alot of headcanons since im projecting alot)
She'd have several kintypes. Possibly snakekin, catkin, otterkin. Maybe a few fantasy ones, possibly griffinkin, MAYBE dragonkin. An azura fictkin would also make sense. She'd do quads, cosplays, make masks, moodboards, kinedits, the works.
Again, another very very obvious one
Hunter, from the owl house. This one again is so popular. But hes very important to me (I kinsidered him before i even knew what it was) but obviously i hc him as wolfkin, maybe even werewolfkin. For similar reasons to Luz, but also heavily for coping reasons. He'd be much more spiritual and closed in about it, i cant see him doing quads but i can see him making a mask or two. He'd mix up wolves and coyotes alot tho aswell
Getting the last obvious one out of the way
All of them. At least most of the vampkids from Southpark as vampirekin. But i also believe they'd all have different related animal kintypes. like bats most commonly, then wolves. And other animals like crows and rats and spiders. All for different reasons
This one is a bit more of a stretch
Anne, from anne with an e. If she had lived in the modern day she'd ADORE therian tumblr. She'd have a few kintypes, possibly some animal types like foxes or doves. Maybe a few fantastical/religious types, i can definitely see her as fallen angelkin, possibly fairykin. And ockin aswell. Partially a coping mechanism, mostly spiritual. Shed write poetry about it definitely. And she'd write so much about her past lives.
This one is just a bit more of a stretch, and has been taken as a troll submission before
Sheldon, from the big bang theory. He is canonically very versed in fandom culture, and he wouldn't know of kin culture in the way people on tumblr do, but alot of internet kin culture arose from the lord of the rings fandom in the 90s, he'd definitely be aware of it. For kintypes, i can see him very vividly as vulcankin (star trek) or even possibly a spock fictkin. Maybe robotkin as even more of a stretch. It's nearly canon in some kind of way. It would stem as a coping mechanism heavily, but also from special interests and a deep personal connection from dehumanized his whole life, very often compared to spock and robots and aliens, and using them as a way to express his own emotions (i have a lot of thoughts about tbbt i apologize.)
Lastly (and the biggest stretch)
Herman, from the vampire bat. This is the biggest stretch, mostly because the movie takes place in the 1930s at the latest.
Again, a poorly done, demonized portrayal of an autistic man with a special interest in bats. Extremely protective of them, extremely connected to them. In short i headcanon him as batkin. Vampirebat specifically. Which is entirely a projection but its okay
Thanks for reading goodbye

Fucked up and evil that I don't have another person on hand who I can force to watch The Vampire Bat 1933 with me. Screaming crying throwing up. This deserves to be canonized as a camp classic.
*Stefan voice* This movie has everything. A big fucking bottle conspicuously labeled "POISON SLEEPING PILLS", a dramatic old lesbian-coded granny who doesn't snitch, Dwight Frye playing a sympathetic neurodivergent guy, a murderer who has the most relatable hardcore dissociating face when on the verge of being discovered, the MEAT SPONGE, and random unexplained telepathy.

Watching Through MY Collection: Day 44/67
The Vampire Bat (1933)
Day 43 / Day 45
This is absolutely a new fave that I'll be bringing out for Halloween parties and stormy nights.
It's got a surprisingly star studded cast for how little I've ever heard about it, and really creative editing; even using some really clean color adding on the torch flames of an angry mob.
There's also even a wild twist reveal at the end that's a huge shift yet doesn't feel like it was pulled completely from nowhere.
The first two-thirds of this film are the pretty basic but enjoyable premise of a village dealing with people dying with weird puncture wounds and no blood, so everyone is arguing over whether it's vampires. Doesn't help that there's been a recent increase in bat activity around the village to increase people's anxiety about bloodsuckers.
Not to even mention the obviously handicapped guy that's kept fed (by local good samaritans) despite not having a job and likes bats so much he catches them around town.
Unfortunately, when the vampire hysteria catches up with the presumed vampire, dead bodies keep popping up. That's when the twist hits.
Without giving too much away, it's a well-executed surprise that manages to recontextualize the story and clean everything up rather well at the resolution.

Herman Gleib Headcanons!
He’s illiterate
He loves to draw, and he tends to draw pictures of bats in the dirt
His name is actually supposed to be spelled “Hermann”, but because he can't read, he doesn't care if people spell it differently
He has a developmental disability and the thought process of a young child
He’s very sensitive to large crowds and loud/overlapping sounds, which is part of why he tends to be alone
His favorite food is apples, particularly the juicy red ones.
He lived with his grandparents when he was really little, and was very sad when they passed away. He would visit their graves every winter and leave a baby bat and some flowers as gifts.

Dread by the Decade: The Vampire Bat
👻 You can support me on Ko-Fi! ❤️
★★
Plot: When people begin dying of blood loss, a town's residents become convinced a vampire is in their midst.
Review: While its attempt to subvert the genre is commendable, this film is brought down by bad comedic relief and muddled storytelling.
Year: 1933 Genre: Sci-Fi Horror Country: United States Language: English Runtime: 1 hour 3 minutes
Director: Frank R. Strayer Writer: Edward T. Lowe, Jr. Cinematographer: Ira H. Morgan Editor: Otis Garrett Composer: Charles Dunworth Cast: Lionel Atwill, Fay Wray, Melvyn Douglas, Dwight Frye, Maude Eburne
------
Story: 2/5 - The shrill, unfunny comedic relief ruins the film's tone and takes up a shocking amount of screen time. As a result, the characters are unexplored and the story doesn't get the attention it needs to make sense.
Performances: 3/5 - Atwill is solid enough, but Frye's portrayal of a disabled man is hard to watch, Eburne is painfully unfunny, and Wray is as generic as ever.
Cinematography: 3.5/5 - Some creative framing.
Editing: 3.5/5 - Interesting use of wipes.
Music: 2.5/5
Effects: 3/5 - Fun lab effects but the "monster" is odd.
Sets: 3.5/5 - The lab and cave are the stand outs.
Costumes, Hair, & Make-Up: 3.5/5
youtube
Trigger Warnings:
Ableist depiction of a disabled man
Mild violence
