Tumblr media
The first person you saw after the first game at the Beach was Usagi. You ran to her as soon as you saw her by the pool.
“Have you seen Arisu?” She asks you as soon as you let go. You shake your head in worry, your head immediately looking around and searching the crowd for the familiar shaggy mop of hair.
“There!” She exclaims and you both push through the crowd to get to him. He sees both of you approaching and screams your names in delight.
“Arisu!” You grin as you approach him. You immediately wrap your arms around him. He pats your back.
“You’re both alive.” He lets out a sigh of relief. You nod and let him go.
He and Usagi stare at each other with shy smiles, making you roll your eyes. You stood in between them awkwardly.
“Please just hug it out. I’m practically begging at this point. I wish the game just killed me if I knew I will have to see this shit.” You cross your arms and walk away from both of them while both of them follow you, no doubt still shyly smiling at each other while talking.
You sat on one of the pool chairs and Usagi sat on the edge of your seat. Arisu sat on the other chair beside yours.
“Ann was trying to test me,” Arisu says as he sat down on the edge of the beach chair, talking about the game he was in.
“When in Rome, do as the Romans do,” Usagi replies while you nod in agreement.
A girl in a blue patterned two-piece swimsuit enters your space and sits beside Arisu. She was tall, pale, and pretty and with some kind of stick in her mouth. The three of you follow her with your gazes.
“Your girlfriend?” She asks and nods at Usagi. She was talking to Arisu.
“What?” Arisu reacts, clearly caught off-guard.
You roll your eyes again but watch the exchange with a grin.
“You’re wrong,” Usagi denies.
“You clearly like each other. Why not date?” Kuina shrugs and then continues. “You’re never gonna know when you’re going to die.”
Whatever Arisu, Usagi, and the new girl were talking about, you tune it all out with your thoughts.
It was harsh but true. People always say, if the world was ending, they’d live to the fullest. In Borderlands, every day is your last day. You think back to Chishiya. If he was here, how would he treat you? Pain struck your chest at the thought.
Will he ever look at you the way Arisu looks at Usagi? All this time, you’ve been hanging on to your life hoping you’ll return to him. But is it worth it? Will he even like it when you come back?
“What about you?”
The girl looks at you with expectant eyes.
“What was that? Sorry, I zoned out.”
“You got someone to go back to the original world? I’m Kuina, by the way.” She gives you a sweet smile.
You nod, thinking of the nonchalant platinum blonde. “Yeah. I think so.”
She was about to ask more when a loud voice halts the entire celebration.
“Hey, stop playing that tacky music!”
Armed men enter the area. You recognize some of them as the men who tied you up when the three of you were caught spying on The Beach. Everyone stops partying upon their arrival, you even see some holding their breath.
“It’s the militants,” Kuina explains to the three of us. “If you want to live a peaceful life at the Beach, avoid getting involved with them.”
She begins to explain who the militants are and what they do. The muscular man named Aguni is their leader. They’re who are in power on the Beach along with Hatter and his devotees. A conflict could happen between the two groups at any time. You don’t doubt it. Such two different powers will clash inevitably.
Aguni and his militants stop by the four of you. He was looking at Arisu who avoided his gaze.
“What happened to your friend?” The question was for Arisu again. You raise a brow. You’re beginning to notice a lot of people knowing Arisu. He must’ve been in a game with the man back when he was with his friends.
Arisu stayed silent, a glimpse of his defeated self, lying on the ground passing by you.
“I see. He died.” Aguni states the obvious. “What a shame only the small fish survived.”
You frown at the clear insult to your friend.
“Do you know each other?” Kuina whispered to Arisu.
Aguni then flits his dark gaze to Usagi and then to you. You suddenly felt naked in your black two-piece swimsuit. But it’s not like you to cower. So you look back at him with the same dark but angry gaze.
“You,” he points at the arrogant-looking man with the gun over his shoulder. “Bring those women over.”
The man quickly moves to his feet, about to grab Usagi first. Arisu stands up in a heartbeat, shouting his protest.
“Stop it. Don’t get involved!” Kuina holds his arm as he stands up.
Usagi stays planted in her seat and you stand up, fists in anger and on your sides.
“Our boss said he wants a taste of both of you.” He says with an ugly smirk on his face. With you being closer, you could see the multiple piercings on his face. You feel nothing but disgust for this man.
The man grabs Usagi’s arm again and both Arisu and you stop him.
“Stop it,” Arisu repeats, standing in front of you and Usagi.
“What? Had to have two chicks to yourself? Don’t you know sharing is caring?” He asks Arisu and then asks Aguni. “What should we do about this guy?”
“Break his legs so that he’ll die in the next game.”
Your eyes widen at the words of the militants’ leader. You quickly felt fear for your friends. God, is this really gonna happen to the three of you?
The pierced man orders the militants to bring the both of you to Aguni while he grabs Arisu.
The tattooed man with a sword approaches you and grabs you by the arm.
“Fucking let me go.” You struggle against his hold, tugging your arm from his digging grasp.
Arisu escapes the pierced man’s hold and is about to head back to the both of you when the militants block his way. He can’t do anything. You can’t do anything. You were outnumbered and no one will save you.
You stare down the bald tattooed man, not letting him see your fear.
You look around, desperate for an opening or an idea to save the three of you. The people only look at the situation closely.
There was only one name in your mind. Chishiya. You have to get out of here for Chishiya. You have to make it out alive somehow.
“Is this a fight?”
The crowd made a way and came in the Beach’s number one, Hatter.
“Back off Hatter, this doesn’t concern you,” Aguni spoke up.
“I can’t do that. As Number One, I’m obliged to maintain order at the Beach.” He says dramatically, looking afar. Then he looks at the militants once again. “Can you let off the newcomers in my account, Aguni?”
All of the residents of the Beach watch as the tension between the two leaders rises. It was Hatter who first breaks the stare down and looks at the pierced man.
“Niragi?” He directs the question to him. So his name is Niragi, you thought. It’s best to avoid him. He reeks of danger and you are seldom wrong about your intuition.
Niragi looks away. “I only take orders from my boss.”
Hatter clearly takes offense at the man’s answer and looks at Aguni again with dark eyes. “Then let me ask your boss.”
He stares down at Aguni again, faces inches away from each other. “Who’s your boss, Aguni?”
Aguni doesn’t look at Hatter, staring ahead in anger. Then he turns to face Hatter. Everyone waits for the tough-looking man’s answer.
“It’s you, right?”
Hatter seemed pleased with his answer and whispered something to him. Aguni then makes his way out of the scene. You successfully tug your arm out of the militant’s grasp, glaring at him and moving away.
“All executive members are to gather in the meeting room!” Hatter announces to everyone.
The militants rush out of the scene and Hatter watches as they walk away.
“Arisu, you’re coming too.” He orders without looking at him, still eyeing the gunned men who have their backs turned to him. “I heard your potential from Ann. Follow me.”
Arisu looks at Usagi and then at you. You nod at him, assuring silently that the two of you will be okay.
“I’ll be back,” Arisu promises to Usagi who was still sitting down.
Your male friend follows Hatter and Usagi trails behind him in worry but stops after a few steps. You follow her and place a hand on her shoulder, staring at the back of your friend who was to be in a meeting with the executives.
“Usagi. He’ll be fine.” You tell her in comfort, mostly telling it to yourself too.
You turn back at Kuina, about to ask her if she knows where they’re going.
But what you saw froze you in your place, dropping your hand from Usagi’s shoulder.
You felt your heart drop to your stomach. That white jacket. That platinum blonde. Those cat-like eyes. Your eyes must be deceiving you. It can’t be.
“Shuntarou.” You sang as you entered the Doctors’ lounge room.
He was alone and it was so quiet you can hear a pin drop so you don’t miss how he audibly sighs. You giggle, well aware of the fact that you annoy the shit out of him. You sit across from him. He was reading some patient information with three books stacked on the coffee table in front of him.
As usual, he doesn’t even express his negative welcome with words.
“I bought you something,” you wave the paper bag in front of his face in excitement.
It didn’t surprise him. You always do this. Whenever you were out shopping, you had to buy him one thing. It was an unspoken rule you set for yourself. And it could be anything—no price range, no rules. One time, you bought him a plant. It died in three weeks. So, you set another rule for yourself, only inanimate objects as gifts.
You set the paper bag down and take out the box inside it. You know he won’t bother opening it in front of you so you open it yourself.
As you take off the lid, you excitedly say, “Tada!”
His eyes flit to the content of the box for a second and then to you before going back to his patient’s papers. He never says thank you for any of your gifts but you don’t really mind. He didn’t ask for them anyway. But you know when he likes the gifts. It’s how you know more about him. He’ll never tell you what he likes or dislikes so it was up to you to figure it out.
“It’s nice, isn’t it? Can you wear this when we go on our date?” You press him as you take out the white jacket from the box.
It wasn’t a date. But he doesn’t deny it so that was enough for you.
Before he answers (but you doubt he would), the door of the lounge opens and walks in Nakamura Hina. She was your senior in med school and a great doctor. She’s also one of Chishiya’s co-workers.
She’s nice and she never showed you anything bad but you sense that she doesn’t like you. You didn’t mind. There was a pretty long line and you don’t plan on opening the doors to any of them.
“Y/N, you’re here,” she states the obvious and gives you a tight strained smile. Her eyes flit over to Chishiya.
“Chishiya, Mr. Yamamoto wants you in his office to talk about the patient.”
Without saying a word, he was already on his feet, not even sparing you a glance and following Nakamura out the door. You stand up too.
“I’ll head out too! Remember what I said, okay?”
He doesn’t even acknowledge you and kept on walking. Hina was looking at you with pity in her eyes. You’ve grown accustomed to it. That was your reputation anyway–the rich girl always hanging around Chishiya Shuntarou.
When they were out of the door, you slump back down your seat and groan.
Before leaving, you fixed your gift back in the paper bag and set it down next to his things.
You hope he’ll wear it, at least.
It’s Chishiya. Your Chishiya was beside Kuina.
He was staring ahead of you so you purposefully blocked his sight, forcing yourself to be in his sight. It was so you to force your way into his life.
If he looks at you, then it’s real. He’s real.
His gaze drops on your face but as soon as his eyes meet yours, Usagi speaks.
“Y/N? What’s wrong?”
This made you look at her. “It’s—,” you look back at him but find yourself gazing at a crowd with no Chishiya or Kuina in sight.
He’s here in Borderlands.
Tumblr media
Scared to be alone in such a dangerous place, Usagi and you slept in her room. You lie on your backs and side by side on her bed. Inches away from each other, you could practically feel Usagi’s anxiety reeking off and unto you.
“Do you think Arisu’s fine right now?” Usagi finally thinks out loud.
You sigh. “He can handle himself.” You pause and think about the man you considered your friend. “He’s smart, isn’t he?”
You feel her genuinely smile beside you. “It’s definitely one of his strengths.”
“So you like smart guys too?” You tease her. “I get it,” you add, thinking about a certain genius doctor you know.
“Too? What does that mean? Your type is smart guys?” She gets excited and faces you on her side, leaning her chin on her palm and putting her upper weight on her elbow.
You purse your lips. “I’m not telling you.”
She shakes you and whines. “Come on. Tell me.”
You grin and lean on your elbow too, now facing each other like two teenage girls in a sleepover. Doing this felt like ages ago. You used to gush over Chishiya to your girlfriends who clearly felt annoyed and tired of it. But right now, Usagi was waiting and is so excited for you to tell her all about the guy you liked. It reminded you of how life used to be so simple. Now, romance was a luxury no one can afford in Borderlands.
“He’s a doctor.” You start. “We’ve known each other since we were kids. Our parents were coworkers and friends.”
“I was in med school too. We were both there together. It’s kind of an unspoken thing that we’re arranged to be married. I hated studying medicine. So I didn’t really pursue it after college.” You pause, thinking about much easier times. “Chishiya, though, he’s good at everything. He’s smart and he’s so cool. He isn’t like anyone I've ever met.”
“So it’s him? The person you’re going back to after Borderlands?” Usagi asks, sweetly and in awe.
You gave her a sad smile. “That was the plan.”
Her brow furrowed and formed into a frown. “What do you mean?”
You lie back down, looking up at the ceiling with tears in your eyes. It’s a good thing the lights were off. “I saw him tonight. He’s here.”
“He’s here?” She doesn’t hide the shock in her tone and you nod. “Why didn’t you go to him?”
“It’s weird.” You admit. “I’m kinda scared.”
It’s true. You were scared. At first, you were shocked but then you were scared. Chishiya were in the same deadly games you’ve been in. Needless to say, they were traumatic and insane. You don’t doubt that he won all those games but still, you were scared. One wrong move is all it takes sometimes. He could die any day here in Borderlands instead of him waiting for you in the real Tokyo. And would he care about you here? Without the threat of your parents knowing their daughter’s every move?
“You’re scared of your boyfriend?” She huffs, trying to lighten the mood.
“That’s the thing. He’s not my boyfriend,” you answer with a sad voice. “I was just this girl who chased him around. I didn’t mean a thing to him. I’m scared that he won’t care about me here.”
Usagi places a hand on top of mine.
“I’m sure he will. You’re hard not to care about, Y/N.”
You slept that night with a heavy heart. You’ve come a long way in the games. You sacrificed, killed, and bled just so you can come back to a life that was not even worth living for a man that was fighting for his life in the games as well.
It scares you a lot because as much as you do not care about what happens to you, you know that you’ll die for him. You realize that your feelings for him run that deep. You love him that much.
That very night, you realize that your goal in Borderland has changed.
It wasn’t to go back to Chishiya. It was to make sure that he gets out of here alive. Even if meant your damnation, you’ll gladly take it.
Tumblr media
The next morning, Arisu, Usagi, and you went around the Beach to gather information. There wasn’t much. You learned that there weren't any games beyond Tokyo and it wasn’t accessible at all. Whoever leaves Tokyo or the country, a laser shoots them from the sky.
The three of you assume that the only real way to get out of here was to play the games.
“I’ll go to the annex basement,” Usagi says as the three of you walk outside the building. “I’ll go get some food supplies and any weapons that we can use.”
“I’ll go with you,” you tell her. She nods at me. “I’m going to look for someone I know.”
You spun and nodded at Arisu. “I’ll look for some more information if I can, in case we need it.”
The two of you separated from Arisu and did what you told him you will. You didn’t find Chishiya. You didn’t think it wise to ask the residents of the Beach about his whereabouts because it wouldn’t be wise for them to know about your association with him. None of these people can be trusted.
When the three of you met up once again, Usagi began to tell Arisu that the Beach had gathered quite a large number of firearms and it was guarded.
“As long as they have those firearms, Hatter is dangerous,” Usagi worried.
You nod. “The militants too. They overpower us.”
Arisu stops walking, thinking deeply. Usagi asks him what’s wrong but he walks again and looks out the window.
Out there, the residents of the Beach we’re partying like there’s no tomorrow.
“The Beach,” Arisu starts. “A utopia built upon charisma. However, maybe that’s just our imagination. A utopia doesn’t exist in this world.”
Usagi and you look at each other, confused at your friend’s mumbling.
“Usagi. Y/N. I’d like to talk to you about something.”
He stares at the two of you deeply in the eye, waiting for your answer intently.
You let out a loud huff. “Why? What’s got you serious all of a sudden?”
Tumblr media
You were mad. You found Chishiya on the rooftop with Kuina. How dare him tell Arisu to specifically leave you out of his plan?
“Y/N?” The tall woman was the first one to see you approaching with heavy breaths and clenched fists.
“Why would you tell Arisu to leave me out of the plan? What if something happens to the four of you? What am I supposed to do?” You protest in anger.
“Kuina.”
He only says her name but Kuina understands him. She gives him a nod and taps you on your shoulder before heading inside and out of the rooftop.
“I want to help. I want to leave here too,” you plead with him and take his hand. He pulls it away from your grasp and your heart doesn’t miss to ache because of that action.
“What is so valuable about your life outside Borderlands, anyway?”
“What?”
“You spend all day swiping Daddy’s credit card and drinking with your fake plastic friends. And when you’re bored of them, you come to the hospital to annoy me.”
“Why are you saying this?” Tears well up in your eyes. It’s not that he was lying. All he said was true. You know that you do, in fact, annoy him. You don’t forget the evident irritation on his face whenever he sees you approaching before Borderlands.
You couldn’t help it. Even if the life you had before was dull, there was something about him that pulled you in. You know that he never liked you despite the association of your parents to his. But to hear it tonight, right when you’ve only asked him if you could be a part of his plans—that you want to help him leave The Beach and out of Borderlands.
“Just go back to your room, Y/L/N.”
Stupid. Worthless. Annoying. That’s what he thinks you are. You’re too stupid to be in his oh-so-great plans to leave The Beach. You’re worthless in his and your own life. Most of it all, you were nothing but a nuisance to him. He doesn’t even think of you as a friend. He just thinks of you as someone whom his parents thrusted to.
You agree it’d be better if you weren’t sent to this world with him. But you were.
“I’m serious. You’ll mess up my plan,’ he even adds.
“Why would I do that? What about the games I played? Do you not think I’ve won them with my hard work?”
He makes a tsk sound, staring ahead. It was chillier on the rooftop than expected and your long-sleeved shirt wasn’t enough to shield you from the cold. But you endure it for him and for this argument.
“No. You’ve won games on your own.”
“Then why?” You plead. “Why do you think I’m incapable?”
“I don’t think you’re incapable.”
“Probably not. But you think I’m nothing but a burden to you.”
“You are.” Typical. Unfiltered and cruel truth comes out of his mouth.
“Then you should just let me die in the games I will be in. That way, you’re free of me forever. You’d be able to come back to our life, Chishiya. I know it. I just want to help you. Because I—, even if I’m not your friend, you are mine.” You rarely call him by his last name. The only other times were when it was necessary so you don’t doubt that he felt the coldness in your voice when you uttered his name.
‘Because I love you’, you almost let out.
You don’t wait for his answer and turn around, leaving him alone on the rooftop with his uncaring face and his hand inside the pocket of his white jacket.
While his other hand, the one you held in yours, twitches against the cold breeze of the night.
Tumblr media
As Shuntaro’s childhood friend, his unfiltered words were nothing but old news to you. Every time he’d push you away and tell you mean things in disguise of cold harsh truth, you won’t deny that you feel a pang of pain in your heart for a millisecond. But, as aforementioned, with the years you’ve known the nonchalant cat-man, you’ve learned to tug that feeling away as soon as possible.
Right now though, you find yourself exhausted dealing with him.
Now, your feet have carried you to Arisu’s doorstep instead of yours. Despite knowing Chishiya before Borderlands, you weren’t brought here with him. You had your first games alone. That’s when you found Usagi and then eventually, a distraught and defeated Arisu lying on the street.
You spent most of your time in Borderlands with him and Asugi. The three of you joined The Beach together. Who would’ve thought you’d find your long-time crush and friend here as one of the executives?
But before knowing he was here, all your thoughts consisted of the guilt of survival. After all the games you were in, why have you survived? You didn’t deserve it. You don’t consider yourself a good person. You were high on privilege and you basked in it. Your life was pointless with no real hardship.
You’ve confided in Arisu when these thoughts occur. It wasn’t because he was good at comforting you. It was because he understood. He told you he lived a similar life before Borderlands. You picked each other up when he lost Karube and Chotta.
You knocked on his door while hugging yourself in one arm. Your head was all scrambled and there was an aching pain in your heart because of Chishiya.
“Y/N?”
Arisu opens the door to you with tears streaming down your face. His hair was shaggier than usual and he could barely open his eyes. You felt a bit guilty for waking him up so late at night.
“What happened?”
And then you spilled everything to him—the talk with Chishiya and the way you felt about the blonde. You told him how you felt cast aside on the plan to steal the cards.
In the dark of Arisu’s room and on his bed, you tore open your heart in front of him. Your friend sat quietly on the side, listening while rubbing your back in comfort.
It’s ironic how Arisu felt more like a friend than someone you knew for more than a decade. To Chishiya, you were nothing but a burden. Just someone who his parents wanted him to be associated with. His father is a great doctor and a good friend of your father, the owner of multiple hospitals all over Japan.
And you, you were studying medicine as well but you never particularly felt attached to it. It felt like something you had to do. You were supposed to inherit all of it anyway.
You don’t consider yourself intelligent but you had good grades up to high school. It was during college that you started to drift away.
Little do you know, your parents didn’t think you were capable of handling all your businesses from the start. That’s why they chose Chishiya. He was put in the same classes as you from high school up to med school. It was never spoken of but both of you know—Chishiya was being put beside you to marry you and have him take over the company. Chishiya Shuntaro, the genius child.
It was what your parents wanted. It was what his parents wanted. It was what you learned to want. It was what he never wanted.
No, he did want your father’s position. He was always drawn to power and control. And he will get it. But you were the weight that had to come with it. It hurts but it’s the truth.
You clung to him for a long while. But a person can only take so much. Maybe he finally had enough. Without your parents in Borderland, he was free of your childish antics. If you die out here, you know that your parents will still take him in. In fact, maybe they’d be glad that they’ve gotten rid of you. It was nothing but a formality after all—just to say that the next owner is still of your father’s blood.
Despite all that, you love him. You love all of him. You love him even if he looks bored to death when he’s with you. You love him even if he straight up refuses to teach you the lessons you have a hard time on, only to give you his notes right after and even quiz you on them. You love him so much that you accepted being treated like you were worthless and nothing but a pretty display of a daughter by your father so you can have him. If Chishiya wanted to be selfish, then so can you. If he has your position as chairman, then you’ll have him. It’s only fair. He can be happy with his power and miserable with you and you can be happy with him and miserable with your life.
Chishiya is a complicated person. You know that deep inside, he has learned to care for you. Even for a little bit. Well, that’s what you try to believe.
“I’m sorry for waking you up.” You say to Arisu when you are done venting.
Arisu smiles and sighs.
“Our plan, Y/N. It’s dangerous and I understand him.”
You sniffed and paused. “You think I’m incapable too?”
His eyes widened and he shook his head violently. “No. No. That’s not what I meant.” You chuckled at his troubled facial expressions.
“I meant that if I cared about someone, I wouldn’t want them in danger.” He explains himself.
You went quiet after those words. Was it possible? Was it possible that Chishiya was ignoring and pushing you away in Borderlands because he
 cared?
You don’t want to hope
but god do you want to.
“He hasn’t seen you in those games. You are more than capable, Y/N. I know it. But I know that if I had the option, I won’t risk putting my friend in danger.”
You nod, taking in his words with understanding. You want to believe that Arisu was right. You want to trust Chishiya. But could you? Do you really know the man behind the rose-colored glasses you wear when you see him?
“Okay,” you sigh.
That night, you stayed with Arisu in his room after arguing with Arisu to let you sleep on the couch instead of his bed. You only didn’t want to risk seeing Chishiya if you went back to yours, especially when his room was a couple of doors down from yours. And you were too tired that you just wanted to crash.
As you stare at the ceiling of the room and feel the digging of your shoulder blades and hips on the couch, you think about the person you and Chishiya were before Borderlands. It hasn’t been long but you’ve already found yourself comfortable with sleeping anywhere, not bathing for days, and hardly eating anything at all. You hadn’t faced any of these hardships.
Arisu was already awake when knocking on his door woke you up from your slumber on his couch. You stirred yourself awake and stood up from the couch.
“Kuina,” you hear him say as he opens the door.
You rise to your feet and head to the door. Kuina’s stare lingers at your recently woken-up form but waves at you and greets you anyway. You wave back.
Kuina whispers something to Arisu and he nods then looks back at you. “Y/N. You can follow Kuina after you’ve fixed yourself, okay?”
You hate this. You felt like a child being taken care of.
Tumblr media
Kuina guides you outside the building after being holed up inside your room for the day. It seemed like the plan was a success and you were just waiting for the others.
You tap your foot repeatedly to aid your nerves. Kuina stood beside you quietly, chewing on her stick.
“It’s really hard not to have a smoke right now,” she sighs and talks to no one in particular.
“What’s taking them so long?” you couldn’t help but ask.
As if on cue, Chishiya walks out of the building with his hands in his pockets. You frown when there was no one who followed him next, no sign of the shaggy-haired boy and the athletic girl you’ve grown to love.
“I guess it’s time to say goodbye to this too.” Chishiya removes the band from his wrist indicating his ranking among the executives.
You follow him with your gaze but look behind him from time to time.
“Where’s Arisu? Usagi?” You ask him, worry evident in your tone.
Chishiya stares at you, looking at you with those unfeeling and unemotional eyes. You stare back at them, trying to decipher what he means. And then it hits you.
“No,” you breathe out.
You look at the girl beside you who hung her head low, not being able to look at you.
“Kuina?” Your voice weakened.
Your heart sunk to your stomach. Anger filled your senses and for the very first time ever, you felt hatred for the man in front of you.
“You sacrificed them?!”
He looks away. “It was the only way.”
“They’re my friends,” you complain with a heavy heart. “Arisu is my friend.”
“I feel really bad for them, Chishiya,” Kuina adds.
His gaze flits back to you. “Oh, is that why you ran to your friend’s room for the night after our argument?”
How did he know that? But why does he care?
“Yes. Because unlike you, he gives a shit about me.” You answer with spite. “How could you do this to him? To me? Is this why you didn’t include me in the plans? Because you know I’ll stop you?”
Chishiya doesn’t answer for a while. Silence fills the void between the two of you. Kuina stays silent by your side, watching the scene unfold with her eyes.
“Then go.”
His words held no emotion as he stared at you deadly.
“I betrayed them so we can go out. The three of us. But if you want to go, then go. Help them. I don’t care.”
You look at him and then back to the building. Arisu and Usagi were probably being held by the militants right now. You’ll be outnumbered and caught. But what were you going to do? Go with Chishiya and leave them to die? You thought about the awful things they would’ve done to the three of you if it wasn’t for Hatter stopping them and you felt sick to your stomach. This was not the game. You aren’t supposed to kill and betray unless you were forced to in a game.
Arisu and Usagi are your friends. Chishiya is your friend. You’ve never had real friends before, at least no one really felt like they were. Arisu and Usagi were the first people who made you feel like they were happy to be your friend.
You can’t leave your friends.
“You have the cards, right?” You ask him.
He smirks. “Of course, I do.”
He says it with confidence like he has the ticket to the way out of Borderlands. With this, he was so sure that you’d have to come out with him. So you can go out. That was what he believed you wanted—that you wanted to go back to your life before.
But he was wrong.
“Then you’ll be fine.”
His eyes widened for a second before they turned to something different. They weren’t as dark or lifeless as they usually are. Instead, you could almost see a hint of surprise and maybe even hurt spread across his eyes.
You jump to him and wrap your arms around the man. How many times have you hugged him? You could probably count it with your hands. So you take it in, close your eyes, and try to engrave the feeling in your brain.
“Take care of my parents and the hospitals, yeah?” You whisper in his ear and hold on for five more seconds before completely letting him go.
“Kuina, look out for him, please?” You ask the tall girl but don’t wait for her answer.
Chishiya still stares at you, unspeaking. You look at him one more time and give him a sad smile with tears in your eyes before turning around. You’re afraid that if you look back again, you’ll run to his arms once more and cry about how much you love him.
He doesn’t care if you do. It’s better for you to leave him.
He has the cards now which means he’ll be fine. He can get out of here. If there was someone who can, it was him.
He has no purpose for you anymore and you’ll only be a burden.
With that, you run back inside the building.

Part 2 of the Mini rural au comic :3
Yuichi is here!!! He's a year older than Leo so he's probably 7/8 here as well :)
Some fun facts about Yuichi:
he lives with his Aunt and little sister in the yokai village!!
They're kind of the big name around there - the Usagi family that is
yes their last name is rabbit, because yokai naming trends are a lot different than Japanese naming trends
he's not exactly a fan of Yoshi ( more on that later)
And that's pretty much it, Yuichi is meant to inherit his aunt's farm when he gets older, he doesn't really care either way right now

Part one
Warnings: possible Alice in Borderland spoilers ⚠ mentions of death/blood (GN READER)
Genre: fluff
Characters: Arisu, Karube, Chota, Usagi, Chishiya, Niragi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Arisu Ryohei
He’s so cute I can’t even
He loves to hold your hands anywhere you go, no matter what you’re doing
I think his hands would be so cold. I mean you would think they would be sweaty or something cuz he’s always nervous but like still.
He does not care if anyone teases him about your little relationship
Gives you cute corny nicknames like Honey, sweetheart, or my love
His favorite place to kiss you is anywhere on your face. He just thinks you’re the cutest being ever.
He begs you to play video games with him All. The. Time.
When you agree to play with him he gets so excited
He’s pretty good so he goes easy on you
If he sees you in any of his clothes he blushes so hard
Love language is quality time
He would try so hard to keep you from Niragi
After the seven of hearts game, he probably would want you to join games with him, but he knows you probably should
Just stay with him and listen to his strategies in games and you will be fine.
He likes to think he knows what he’s doing in a relationship but he’s wrong
He is never jealous he doesn’t care
Tumblr media
Daikichi Karube
Arm basically superglued over you shoulders at all times
He thinks your laugh is the most amazing thing ever he. It could be the last thing he ever heard and he would be happy
Favorite place to kiss is your lips, of course
Not a fan of when you was his clothes or jewelry but will get you your own and douse it with his cologne if you want
Love language is for sure also quality time
He will hold your hand but like in his pocket so your hand stays warm
He calls you “babe”. Unless you’re upset, then he would try to cheer you up by giving you increasingly more stupid nicknames until you laugh
Will beat up anyone for you
He doesn’t like it when you watch him get into fights, but he loves it when you help clean up his wounds
He would probs share cigarettes with you if you wanted him to
He likes it when you hang around at his bar
He probably doesn’t go to a barber, and would get you to cut his hair instead
He doesn’t care how it looks, he loves you regardless
Tumblr media
Chota Segawa
This beautiful man is so cute
He is genuinely so touch deprived if you hug him for long/hard enough he will cry undoubtedly
His favorite part of your body is your face obviously he could stare at it forever
Favorite Place to kiss is your nose ❀
If you wear any of his clothes he would probably scream honestly
He loves it when you two can just relax when he gets back from work
His love language is gift giving <3
If he finds something he thinks you might like he gets it immediately
He probably has no relationship experience so he wants to keep you forever
I don’t think he would actually give you a nickname, he would just use your name
His hands are also really cold and he has like a death grip on your hands when he holds them
He doesn’t really get jealous, just insecure. Like if somebody is flirting with you he is scared you will leave him for them
Random, but He doesn’t have a favorite song
He loves when you come visit him at work. If he gets in trouble, he just kinda brushes it off
He wants to hold you 25/8 even though he can’t
Overall I feel like he is really chill, but would do anything for you if you asked
Tumblr media
Yuzuha Usagi
She’s amazing literally
She would convince you to work out and go on runs with her
Even if your not a morning person, she tries to convince you to come with her
She loves to protect you during games. She truly will try her best
She knows it might be hard for you to keep up with her, but she wants you to stay close to her, to keep you safe of course
Don’t wear her clothes lol she doesn’t like it that much but she wouldn’t tell you
If anything she likes to take your clothes
She likes to kiss your forehead ofc
Her love language is words of affirmation!! She absolutely loves dropping them randomly
She could talk to you about anything for hours. Even when she’s not talking, she lives to hear your voice.
She also loves your smile and laugh
She never shows it but she does get really jealous
Someone else starts flirting with you and she will start giving them dirty looks for the rest of the day
Her hands are so nice
Not really manicured but still just naturally pretty
She has a few cuts and callouses on her hands from mountain climbing tho
She lives when you like gently rub her shoulders when she’s stressed
She will for sure take you mountain climbing
Some place a little safer tho cuz she doesn’t want you to get hurt
Probably won’t give you a cute nickname, just a shortened version of your name (if you have one
Hc that she listens to 90s rock music
She gives amazing hugs no words at all
Tumblr media
Shuntaro Chishiya
He’s so gorgeous
He’s not the most like open person ever but he tries his best with you
Doesn’t do PDA but in private he loves to just lay with you in silence
Warm hands I mean they’re always in his damn pockets
Favorite Place to kiss you is your forehead, but he likes getting them more
He likes when you play with his hair
He doesn’t like when you wear his clothes, but sometimes when he’s bored he will like spray some of his cologne (or whatever he uses) on you
He teases you so much it’s kinda cute
Kuina teases both of you 🙁
If you braid his hair he would like go crazy
His love language is quality time
During games he wants you to stay with him and listen to everything he says
He wants you to go along with his plans, and that means you have to be fine with some sacrificing
He’s not jealous but he doesn’t like when you talk to Niragi/ vice versa
He probably has his ears pierced
I think he knows how to play guitar
He lets you cut his hair (and help him re bleach it💀)
When he holds your hands, he also does the pocket thing
His main priority is making sure you’re safe
He doesn’t understand your humor im so sorry
Lmao do his eyeliner he loves it
Tumblr media
Suguru Niragi
Okay let’s pretend he didn’t do all that stuff for a hot minute
Let’s also pretend he wasn’t literally lit on fire and thrown off a building
Always has an arm over your shoulders or waste at any point
He would actually kill for you, like no joke
He gets extremely jealous and literally tried to kill anyone who looks at you the wrong way
His favorite Place to kiss you is your neck
He doesn’t really have a love language, more or less just does whatever
If you don’t wear his clothes on your own, he will probably like ask you to (he’s not asking, he’s demanding)
If you let him, he would give you piercings
He doesn’t hold your hands or show very much PDA, he thinks it makes him seem weaker and more vulnerable
He’ll teach you how to shoot a gun
Gives the worst nicknames every in srs
Calls you like “bitch” or something (in a loving way)
He teases you so bad
During the witch hunt he would get you to join his team or whatever it was
Like everyone else, he does his best to protect you during games
His hands are really rough but they’re still nice
It might not seem like it, but he hates getting into fights with you, especially when he knows he’s wrong but he could never admit it
If you beg for long enough I like to think he would let you put eyeliner on him if you make it look good (I want to see it tbh)
You make him want to be a better person
Tumblr media
Alright that’s it thanks for reading guys
Let me know who you want in part two, and I’ll maybe even do a part 3
Sorry if it was cringe I was bored and in class lol

Being obsessed with Danganronpa is NOT for the weak. I’m out here analyzing what Kyoko’s maternal grandfather’s name could mean.
In Danganronpa Kirigiri we learn that Kyoko’s maternal grandfather’s name is Tohachirou Uzuchi. However, it is all written in Hiragana, so it has no definite meaning when it comes to interpretation. I spiraled.
Uzuchi (うずち) is most commonly spelt (ćŻæ§Œ) but can also be spelt (捯鎚). They mean the same thing so I’m not really going to get tied up here. The first kanji is pronounced “u” (like ooh not you). It means rabbit, but rabbit is usually spelt 慎 and pronounced “usagi”. The spelling 捯 is specifically used for the rabbit in the zodiac or “Year of the Rabbit”. The second kanji is pronounced “tsuchi” on its own, but when put after “u”, the “tsu” changes to “zu”. It means hammer or the action hammering.
The Danganronpa wiki says this may relate to a Japanese myth, so I looked into that.
The “The Moon Hare” (æœˆăźć…Ž) says that the dark markings on the near side of the moon are a rabbit pounding (hammering) something with a mortar and pestle. In Japanese mythology it seems the rabbit is making mochi or other rice cakes.
But, ćŻæ§Œ can also refer to this:
Tumblr media
https://inoori.jp/nonoaya/info_ws_shiga/uduchi_ws/
An item used to dispel evil spirits. They used the wood from peach trees, which I find fascinating. We have another DR character who has ties to space, Kaito Momota, and “Momo” (癟) means thousand. But, it’s also a homophone for the word peach (æĄƒ).
Anyways,
His first name is Tohachirou (べはちろう), which I feel is easy in the last two parts, hachirou. Hachi means seven and he is said to know seven martial arts, so I feel that’s a perfect fit here. Rou is a common ending for male names in Japanese. We got Rantarou, Jatarou, Ichirou, nothing crazy.
edit: Hachi means eight, not seven. I’m still certain that’s how his name is spelt though, as that’s the most common way to spell Hachirou and it’s still a number not far from seven.
So はちろう = ć…«éƒŽ, then what does ず equal?
Tumblr media
Well, when I type it out, æ–—ć…«éƒŽ is the first option, which I think it very fitting. 斗 refers to the dipper constellations, another connection with space.
However, the kanji for rabbit (慎), can also be pronounced “To”. Seeing as both are extremely fitting, one being rabbit, the other being space, I feel that it can go either way.
I think I’ve officially lost it.

Leo is playing a version of the Sims, with some mods installed.
The audience has watched him mess around, and try to get the Sim based on himself with the one based on his boyfriend named Moon, and somehow just annoying the Bunny instead.
"This is somehow harder in this game, than in real life. Then again my lovely Moon did threaten to cut me in half when we first met." Leo says this while trying to figure why the 'romance options' are making Sim Usagi annoyed.
"Bit of a fun fact. When I visited Bunny Boys family I got to see some pictures. And let me tell ya. He had a Great something Grandfather that was very handsome, and apparently had a 'best buddy'," Leo stopped to do air quotes, "that showed up in quite a few pictures. Though said Grandpa was also a Samurai, so who knows what their relationship was."
In the middle of him talking the Mikey Sim somehow caught something on fire.
"What? How!? He was Painting? How did it catch fire?!" Leo quickly tries to get the Sims to get to safety, or put out the fire. "I need to pause and ask Dee if something in one of the mods is messing with my game."
Leo didn't switch to a BRB scene, he just muted while talking on the phone.
Meanwhile the game wasn't paused either, and they can only watch as the Donnie Sim messes with a Science Station then have it blow up in their face. The Sim then stomps over to a shower to clean up.
The Raph Sim can be seen just going back and forth between a few exercise equipment.
And the Leo Sim starts a stream on the computer, but because of the angle of the camera where Leo left it, it looks like the Sim is talking to the audience. Which is slightly unnerving for the viewers.
Leo after a few minutes ends his phone call and un mutes.
"Sorry about that guys. I asked Dee, and they mentioned that there may have been a mod that adds hidden attributes to the Sims that you have to learn on your own. So maybe my Moon might not see the romance option as romantic until later, and Mandarin might have a hidden pyromaniac trait." As Leo says this the camera switches to see Mikey cooking something with a Flambe flair.
"Though my own Sim might have a hidden trait that makes him a terrible flirt so that romance options fail. Either way time to by some better fire alarms, and look for a different approach to take with Moon." Leo says while leaning back in his chair with his arms folded.
He just sits back to watch what the Sims were doing for a few minutes, kinda forgetting to turn on double speed, and observed them going about with their lives.
An in game notification mentioned a Sims Splinter, who's a big celebrity, was caught in a scandalous affair.
"I guess this is part of one of the mods. Though what is this affair?" Leo leans forward to click on the notification.
It brings up a in game 'newspaper/magazine' that showed a couple pictures, one of Sim Splinter coming out of a closet with a random male sim, and another of an in game wedding photo of Sim Splinter with Sim Draxum.
"Well this isn't the first time I've seen this kind of article about Dad, but it's the first time that they have a wedding picture. Ya know. Since Pops never married his Ex." Leo says while taking a screenshot and sending it to the group chat. "Though I didn't know his Sim was married to Barrys. I guess that's a personal touch from Dee."
Leo goes to make an attempt at a different interaction between his Sim and Moon. That's when he found a modded sub category of interaction that involved a sword duel.
"Why not? It's the closest thing to what happened, so it might work."
He and the audience sit and watch as the two sims have a fight that didn't last long, but then once it was done their relationship meter had gone up quite a lot. Then the sims started flirting on their own.
"I swear Dee programmed this just to make fun of how weird my relationship is. Because I feel very called out." Leo says with a bit of a pout.
The chat was still very entertained, and tossing around suggestions of what to do next.
The stream continues thankfully without any of the Sims setting themselves on fire.

My mind was hitting me with so many story ideas while I was writing the Convention series. Which kinda tells me that my own mind doesn't like working on one connected story over multiple posts, and rather me have 10+ loosely connected posts.

Baby Blue (Chapter 1)
Rise of the TMNT Leonardo/Yuichi Usagi Chapter 1 of a longer fic THIS IS PART OF A SERIES - might be confusing to read without context
AO3
---
When Usagi sees him for the first time that day, Leo's sweaty, covered in oil and grease, and his knees still ache from crouching down.
If Leo had a choice, he would've chosen any other circumstance; preferably one where he didn't have to worry about how he smells.
But he was the one who offered to help Donnie in the workshop, so blaming that on anyone but himself is a lot more difficult than usual. Which doesn't mean he's not trying, of course.
Donnie, on a principle, didn't let almost anyone near his baby, let alone one of his rather destructive brothers, so only a fool wouldn't take advantage of such a rare opportunity. A fool, and apparently: Mikey and Raph, who, from experience or intuition, already guessed what 'helping' looked like in Donnie's eyes.
“This is child exploitation,” Leo complains, rubbing his stiff hands together.
His fingers tingle from handling all kinds of metal, paint, and other things he's not even sure how to call.
Leo is strong, like all of his brothers, but without adrenaline pumping through his veins, something that always accompanied a fight or even (occasionally) training, he can feel each hour taking its toll on his muscles.
“If you don't shut up, I'll show you real exploitation.”
Donnie doesn't even spare him a glance, mostly because he's still lying under the hood of the tank, elbow deep in its belly.
He's wearing a completely new shell; less durable than the previous ones, as anyone who's had the chance to exchange even a single word with him in the past few weeks would know.
Leo knows that Donnie doesn't like to compromise on his inventions, especially not the ones he holds so dear. But sacrificing the shell's previous primary function for a much lighter structure and a soft center that didn't weigh down the fresh scars seemed not so much preferable but necessary.
But Leo knows him too well to not see through the mask of an unfulfilled engineer.
It's only been three months since they saw Shredder for the first, and hopefully last, time. The wounds on Donnie's back have grown new skin, pink at first and so delicate that something in Leo clenched nervously every time his brother leaned over, like the bonds holding them together were about to snap at any moment.
Now they're pale and rough and seem to irritate Donnie less, at least judging by the fact that he no longer sits on the couch with his spine perfectly straight.
But Leo knows that there are other scars left on him; ones that can't be protected by a layer of metal and fabric.
Donnie is nervous, twitchy, like all of them now. But he stands with his back to the walls now, looking over his shoulder. He doesn't like open spaces, hunching his shoulders and tightening his fingers around his staff.
There are dark circles under his eyes.
And Leo has always been able to see right through him.
So nowadays, he spends a surprising amount of time standing right behind his brother, watching his back.
(He spends a lot of time making sure Donnie isn't alone.)
“Pass me that screwdriver,” Donnie says after a moment of silence, holding out one hand and flexing his fingers. Leo reaches for the tools carelessly scattered to the side before his brother adds: “Not that one, the other one.”
“You don't even know which one I was holding,” Leo mutters under his breath, but agreeably places the appropriate tool in his hand.
“I sensed your bad vibe,” Donnie says, probably only half joking.
Leo stands up, rolling his eyes. He stretches his numb limbs, resting his shoulder against the cold metal of the machine. But then he steps back a little, remembering the oil he'd managed to somehow get all over his arms.
Donnie's baby – affectionately named 'Turtle Tank', is the apple of his brother's eye, and the object of Leo's endless jealousy.
He suspected that even if the tank somehow passed all traffic inspections and regulations – Raph would've sooner glued him to the passenger seat than let him drive it on his own.
Donnie was clearly never going to receive the same treatment, which Leo considered both unfair and perfectly understandable. He himself would never want to stand between his brother and his one true love.
For now – he'll have to settle for a passenger-row view.
“You know,” Leo begins, feigning indifference, like he hadn't been waiting to breach the subject since morning. “April told me you went to school with her again.”
Seeing a human school wasn't so much a dream of Donnie's, as much as it was a checkmark on his 'so bad I have to see it' list.
April said 'sure', clearly amused and intrigued in equal measure, like she could sense a car crash approaching and could no longer look away.
Raph said it was the stupidest idea he's ever had, and it seemed to scare him almost as much as the following demonstration of Donnie's cloaking brooch.
Leo said it was the funniest thing that's happened in a while, and included a few quips about his brother's taste in fashion (though that was mostly to dispel something growing uneasy in his chest every time he looked at his very familiar, but very human face).
Mikey only said to bring him back a 'souvenir', though he hadn't specified what kind (perhaps that was why Donnie returned that afternoon with a stolen extension cord).
Draxum hadn't said anything, because he wasn't there and no one told him.
“Mhm,” Donnie mumbles under his breath as he works.
“That's the fourth time,” Leo notes.
“Mhm,” Donnie repeats, this time with palpable suspicion. “I like spending time with April.”
A warm feeling settles in Leo's chest, right before he quickly squashes it down, knowing his brother too well to fall for his half-truths.
“Ah, yes.” He puts up his hands, cupping them by his cheek, raising his voice to a near squeak. “I’m Donnie and I love spending time with my friends!” He lowers his hands, resting them on his hips. “Admit it, you’re just a nerd who likes school.”
“I don’t like school.” Donnie finally pulls himself out from under the machine, gracing Leo with a look. “Neither does my father, which is why I never went to one.”
Leo leans in, tilting his head a little.
“You’re a nerd.”
“You’re a moron.”
“Home-schooled freak.”
“You can barely count.”
Leo opens his mouth but doesn’t finish, cutting himself off in mid-sentence at the sudden creaking of the door. Leo turns around even before he hears a familiar voice.
“Hey, guys,” Usagi says, almost melodically, quickly slipping into the garage.
Leo glances at him. Then blinks, looking him over once more.
Usagi is wearing his work uniform. Or at least – most of it.
His pants are a little dusted with something that might be flour, but he’s thrown off his white shirt, unceremoniously tying it around his waist. It leaves him in a tank top, which Leo notices immediately, to his own embarrassment.
Leo watches him only for a moment, before promptly turning his gaze away, fixing it onto the floor.
Which is a shame, because Usagi is ridiculously nice to look at – in the most objective way.
He's round with fur around the edges but lean and sturdy, with arm muscles tightening when he crosses them over his chest. His smile creases the corners of his eyes, the red half-moons around them.
Usagi leans his hip on a desk, and Leo spots a new expression on his face with a corner of his eye. Like he knows Leo's putting a lot of effort into looking anywhere but at him.
“Aren't you supposed to be at work?” Donnie hums, his tone suggesting that his excitement at seeing his friend is entirely dependent on the circumstances surrounding his presence.
“I'm on a break,” Usagi announces. “I thought I'd check in on you.”
“Mhm. And how is that going for you?”
Donnie, having clearly reassessed his priorities, once again slides under the tank.
“You look like shit,” Usagi states.
His voice still has the same, joking tone.
In the moments where Leo has avoided his gaze, Usagi managed to pull out his yo-yo, lazily twirling the string between his fingers.
“Thanks for the feedback,” Donnie says in his usual, neutral tone.
Usagi laughs, short and loud, like he's doing it for both of them.
Leo steals a glance at him, and quickly realizes that in the time he was putting all of his attention into the flood and walls – Usagi has been looking at him.
Their gazes meet, and Usagi narrows his eyes, like he's trying not to smile even wider.
“Hey,” he says.
He moves his hand, as if trying to lift it, clearly forgetting about the yo-yo still wrapped around it. He untangles his fingers, finally lifting his palm in a slightly awkward gesture, pushing his ears off his shoulder.
“Hi,” Leo replies, a little breathless.
Usagi opens his mouth, like he's planning to say something more, but stops, interrupted by the loudest, squeakiest ringtone Leo has ever heard.
He raises his hands, reflexively covering the sides of his head. Even when he can't see Donnie, he knows he's doing the same.
“Why the fuck is it so loud?” Leo says, raising his voice above the incredibly distorted vocals of Britney Spears.
Usagi, finally untangling his fingers enough to pull his phone out of his pants pocket, glares at him a little.
“It gets loud around here during rush hour,” he says in his defense, flipping open the phone. “Hello?”
In one moment: Leo learns two new things.
How quickly the smile can fade from Usagi's face: something he previously thought downright impossible, and honestly – rather upsetting. And that, apparently: his friend speaks more than one language.
It takes him a moment to recognize Usagi's harsh, clearly irritated tone as Japanese; mostly because he's never heard him sound this cold, no matter the language.
Leo watches with a new kind of slightly concerned attention as Usagi crosses his arms over his chest, nervously tapping his foot.
Donnie, seemingly lured from his hiding place, rests his hands on the floor, his head on the metal next to Leo.
“Do you understand what they're talking about?” Leo asks, his voice lowered.
Donnie reaches out, waving it in the universal gesture of 'so-so'. Then, an almost painful grimace breaks across his face.
“But I don't think you want to know.”
It's a nothing answer, but before Leo has a chance to protest, Usagi closes the phone with a sudden snap of plastic.
“Sorry.” He sighs quietly, relaxing his shoulders a bit. “I have to go. The tokage got to the trash again, and I'm the only one they don't bite.”
“Why?” Leo asks, mostly out of reflex.
“I feed them, sometimes.” Usagi replies. But then he freezes, his ears perking up stiffly. “Uh-um. Do you think that’s why they keep coming back?” He looks away, biting his nails in a new wave of panic.
The next moment he’s standing in the doorway, pushing it open with the necessary force. He doesn’t say anything more, but Leo still receives a crooked smile in response to his: “Well, see you later?”, which he can only consider a success.
When the door closes again with a quiet creak, Leo glances at his brother, but Donnie speaks before he has a chance to.
“What’s going on between you two?” He asks, so suddenly that Leo straightens a bit, thrown for a loop.
“Between who?” He asks, stupidly.
Donnie sighs quietly. He reaches for a rag, previously thrown to the side, wiping the oil from his hands.
“Between you and Usagi,” he clarifies.
He doesn't look at Leo.
Which could mean nothing, because his brother never seemed to fully master the intricate art of proper eye contact, and Leo never had any trouble finding true emotions beneath his relative indifference.
But it could also mean something more, something like disapproval or confusion, and Leo's newly clenched stomach seems much more inclined to that scenario.
Leo curls in on himself a little, folding his arms around his torso, gripping the edges of his shell.
“What's that supposed to mean?” He replies evasively.
Donnie frowns, huffing quietly as the oil stubbornly sticks to the inside of his claws. He stands with a slight grimace, walking over to the sink in the corner of the room.
“That's what I'm asking, isn't it?” Donnie raises an eyebrow. Then: “Are you two, like, going out?”
“What?” Leo sits up, so abruptly that he almost chokes down on his own tongue. “Why?”
Donnie glances over his shoulder, sliding his hands under the cold stream of water, and their eyes finally meet.
“Are you asking me why you're dating, or...?” He frowns, like he's not entirely sure who's the problem in this conversation: him or Leo.
“No.” Leo stands, mostly to keep on the same level with his brother. “Why do you think that?”
For one unwavering moment, Donnie just looks at him in silence.
He turns away, wiping his hands on a towel with insufferable casualness, leaning his back against the sink.
In the meantime, one of Leo's hearts manages to circle his entire body – from his throat to the very bottom of his chest.
He knows Donnie must feel how hard it's beating. He hates that fact more than ever.
“Nardo.”
Donnie's voice softens unexpectedly, taking on the same tone he sometimes uses when he tries to sound comforting. Which means that he usually ends up somewhere between patronizing and like he's talking to startled cattle.
“I’m not stupid,” he continues anyway. “Or blind.”
Leo presses his lips together.
He looks away, crosses his arms over his chest, then lets them fall again, sighing quietly.
He knows Donnie isn’t. None of his brothers are.
He knows that it was only a matter of time before they brought up what they had been half-jokingly dismissing and plainly ignoring until now.
But this – stating it like it's so clear, so obvious, so blunt, makes something in his chest tighten painfully, his fingers twitch nervously.
He thinks he’s just embarrassed.
(He thinks that some part of him never stopped fearing the rejection that was never meant to come.)
Donnie raises his hand, adjusting his headscarf. He managed to get some oil on it earlier.
He sighs quietly, lowering his arms. He steps closer to the tank, resting his shoulder against the cold metal.
“Listen, Nardo.” He shoves his hands into the pockets of his pants, like he's not quite sure what to do with his own body. “I'll be straight with you.”
“Uhm, I don't know if that's the right word for this occasion,” Leo says, more out of habit than anything else.
He immediately winces, looking away.
“Okay?” Donnie frowns. Then, a slightly more serious expression returns to his face, which in his case can be associated with an exceptionally wide range of emotions. “Listen. Usagi is a bit of a...”
He makes a vague gesture with his hand.
Leo thinks he can guess what Usagi is, but listens anyway.
“Lovebug,” Donnie finishes. He crosses his arms over his chest, shrugging. “But he's been pretty set on you for a while now.”
“Wow,” Leo says, dryly, before the real meaning of the statement sinks in. “Oh.”
Donnie reaches out a hand, resting it on his shoulder.
“He likes you.” Then, his face hardens, and the hold on his shoulder tightens almost painfully. “So don't fuck it up. And don't play with his feelings, I don't want any broken hearts. That would be so fucking awkward.”
Leo shrugs, pushing his hand away.
The old, familiar embarrassment still builds up in his chest, but the sudden defensiveness quickly squashes it down.
“You know I'm not like that,” Leo bites, a little more honestly than he planned, giving way to actual hurt.
Donnie clicks his tongue, but something on his face softens.
“I know. Which is why this is a warning, not a promise.”
“Are you giving me the shovel talk?” Leo snorts, somewhat reassured by the change in tone.
Despite everything, something in his chest beats harder, warmer at the thought that this is the closest to sincere support he could expect from his brother in this scenario.
He thinks Donnie feels it too, because when he speaks again, he does so almost lovingly.
“I wish I had a shovel every time I see you two together, so I could smack you over the head with it.” With a quiet sigh, he sits down again, resting his shell on the floor to look under the tank again. “Now, hand me the screwdriver.”
And before Leo has a chance to even crouch down, he adds:
“Not this one, the other one.”

“The arrow seems a little too much,” (Name) says, eyebrows furrowed, “showoff.” Sukuna's gaze, in an instant, turns to (Name) while Jogo stands there with wide eyes. A low growl escapes Sukuna's lips as his teeth grit and grind together in irritation. “You again,” he starts, “even after thousands of years, I still find you chasing my tail.”
As the remark escapes Sukuna's mouth, it only makes (Name)'s lips form a wide grin of victory as he succeeds in irritating Sukuna for the millionth time, all over again, even after ten decades. “It is truly a cherished sight to see you reveal your Jujutsu to such a low-grade curse, Sukuna.” (Name) says, immediately stepping back as the arrow disappears from Sukuna's hands, only to find random attacks coming from him. In return, (Name) ducks and avoids them, each step closer to Sukuna.
“You do not know when to quit, do you, Usagi!?” Sukuna yells, eyes full of rage as he transports right behind (Name). Yet (Name)’s eyes are already on Sukuna, far more than just a few steps ahead. “But it's true! Such a sight to witness after two decades of being reincarnated!” He responds right away, a shit-eating grin spread across his lips. “It has been a while since you last stretched, hasn't it!?”
One of Sukuna's palms lands firmly on top of (Name)'s shoulder, gripping with mighty strength as he forces (Name)'s body to a halt. (Name) still smiles through it all, even when he feels the rough shape of a hand holding him down. “Maybe now you'll learn that you shouldn't meddle about, Usagi,” Sukuna slowly says and (Name) just chuckles dryly at the threat, his hand gripping Sukuna's. “I don't think it'll work, just like it did not last time, Majesty.”
Just as those words left (Name)’s parted lips, Sukuna's hand greatly increases its hold on his shoulder, squeezing, feeling the bones of (Name)'s shoulder. “Still as irritating as ever,” he retorts hastily, in a pure venom-laced voice, “but I'm sure I'll figure something out,” he finished. A hand forming a fist, Sukuna strikes (Name)'s stomach, yet (Name)'s body doesn't move an inch in any direction. Wind around them forms from the sudden and fast impact of a fist and a body pressing together but factors stay the same in (Name)'s mind: drive Sukuna to the edge.
“Such foolish things do not work on me any longer,” (Name) remarks, taking in deep breaths after the impact. This only makes Sukuna's mind race with possibilities of just how much (Name) has changed. “You fool,” Sukuna says through grit teeth, gripping (Name)'s shirt as drops small rocks of flowing lava and magma make their way at (Name).
For a quick moment, (Name)'s expression morphs into something of a surprised gaze as Sukuna grips his shirt, making (Name) lose his footing. Sukuna uses this chance to slip his foot under (Name)'s legs, making him stumble, yet Sukuna raises an eyebrow as he analyzes (Name)'s face. A small gasp of surprise leaves (Name)’s lips as he falls onto the molten rock, hissing at the temperature difference. (Just completely ignore the fact that I forgot about Jogo. Again.)
It's Sukuna's time to grin, gripping (Name)'s hair tightly as he forces his arms behind his back, keeping him in place. Without much choice for movement, (Name) growls, eyebrows furrowed as he looks at Sukuna. “Is that all you got, fucker?” (Name) provokes, gritting his teeth together. Sukuna dryly laughs, an irk mark appearing on his forehead at that insult, “you should keep your mouth shut if you know what's good for you.” He warns, his grip on his arms tightening as (Name) squeezes his eyes shut, whipping his body around, forcing Sukuna to lose grip on his arms.
“Might as well play around like old times, wouldn't you say so?” (Name) asks with spite, kicking Sukuna's hind legs with force unbelievable for a human. Automatically, Sukuna dodges, to an extent, and jumps a few feet back—keeping a fighting stance. A grin spread across his lips once again, his body fired up just from the little sparring he's done with them. “You going to regret your choice, brat,” Sukuna lowly warns, grin widening as he attacks with speed and precise measurements. (Name) having no other choice than to block with his arms, he crosses his forearms together, creating an ‘x’ as he's pushed a few feet across the battlefield. Eyebrows furrowed, his smug expression replaced with an irritated one, thighs a little apart as they came to a halt.
But before he can register Sukuna's movements, Sukuna attacks again—jumping into the air with the intention of kicking him into his head with his foot, (Name) jumps forward up to Sukuna—letting a blow of cursed energy right at him. Sukuna's eyes widen a little, immediately switching to defense as he forces an explosion to deteriorate (Name)'s attack.
“Fucking brat,” Sukuna says, mostly to himself but also loud enough for (Name) to hear. (Name) laughs loudly, completely intoxicated with Sukuna's irritation. For both of their old bond of years and years fighting alongside each other (and with each other), both of them learned enough to get by when the other attacks. Sukuna knows (Name) so well by now, all of his darkest secrets, and so does (Name).
As Sukuna is still in midair, he switches back to his foot, the intent the same as before. As (Name) loses focus for a split second, still laughing at Sukuna's annoyance, Sukuna goes ahead with his attack and pushes (Name) down. The ground shakes as the concrete beneath both of them cracks split open, both falling down the hole into the metro station beneath them. Rubble falls down, creating friction—crashing altogether down around them.
(Name) lets out a rough cough as he lands onto the cold ground, right next to the rails, Sukuna lands atop him, firmly sitting against his crotch as he grins with victory yet rage because (Name) has halted a fight he wanted to have with Jogo. “Next time you won't be so lucky,” he grumbles, his hands reaching for (Name)'s wrists—pinning them above his head. Even though (Name) is reincarnated, he's still in a human body; meaning he still feels sensations, touches and pain.
His teeth grit together as his hips buck up against Sukuna, hissing through his teeth with eyes closed. “You don't get to claim this win,” he mumbles, irritated. Sukuna snorts at him, rolling his eyes as he stares down his opponent, “what the fuck do you mean I don't get to claim this as a victory for myself? Look at you,” Sukuna raises an eyebrow as his grin widens, “you're helpless, Usagi.” He says, without hesitation, observing (Name)’s reaction.
Though they were ‘partners in crime’ thousands of years ago, when Sukuna was at his strongest, he still had nothing on (Name). Yet now that (Name) had been weakened for years and even years to come, he's still powerful for being reincarnated as a human.
(Name) huffs in annoyance, trying to free his hands from Sukuna's grip with a cursed energy attack, yet Sukuna blocks it—twisting his arm. That makes (Name) yelp and hiss, uncomfortably squirming under Sukuna. “Asshole—” escapes his lips, voice cracking. Sukuna, still grinning, enjoys the sight below him—seeing (Name) squirm and tremble at the sudden blockage of their attack. “I'm not helpless!” (Name) quacks from irritation, eyebrows furrowed.
“Stop denying it—look at yourself,” Sukuna coos, pulling himself a little closer to (Name)’s face, “Usagi.” And that, almost, makes (Name) snap. An irritated sigh leaves his lips as he violently jerks his hips forward, eyebrows furrowed in fury. A small, cut-off ‘ah—’ leaves Sukuna's lips as he feels the pressure against his groin, not expecting such a notion from (Name). His eyes open a little wider, his grip on (Name)’s hands loosening.
“Call me that again and you're good as dead, Tanshi.” (Name) spits, taking in a deep breath as Sukuna still tightly holds onto his arms. Another dry chuckle leaves Sukuna's lips as he leans a little closer, “Tanshi, really? Couldn't think of anything better besides such a generic nickname?”
Embarrassment pools in (Name)’s stomach, turning his face away to the side—eye contact broken. He jerks his hips again, uncomfortable with the position he found himself in so suddenly. (Name)’s cheeks redden, a small tut leaving his lips. “Oh, shut up. It is not as bad as you make it sound,” (Name) responds. Sukuna chuckles at his retort as the sensation of pressure against (Name)’s groin grows—as Sukuna presses himself against (Name) further, growing quite comfortable in such a position. Yet (Name)'s dick twitches.
A small sound leaves (Name)’s lips, feeling Sukuna grind. Yet he stays still, a warm feeling forming in the pit of his stomach. “Is it, though? Are you sure, Usagi?” Sukuna teases, moving his hips the tiniest bit at a time, moving forward and backwards, “I have a feeling you haven't thought this through.”
“It's not that I haven't—” (Name) cuts himself off, a soft sound leaving his lips, “—haven't thought about it, no,” he hastily responds, eyebrows twitching the tiniest bit. “It just— just fits right; a wolf in a sheep's clothing.” He finishes, his fingers slowly curling as both of his hands form tight fists. Sukuna leans next to (Name)‘s ear, hot breath hitting (Name)’s neck—making a shiver smoothly scatter down his spine. He let out a shaky breath, holding back a sound.
“Why’re you—” Name begins, yet he's cut off by Sukuna as his lips part, eyes closing, placing a gentle peck against their neck, making (Name) squeak. Sukuna's sharp teeth sink into (Name)’s soft neck, puncturing thought the fragile skin like nothing; the sweet taste of blood on his tongue makes his hips buck against (Name)’s crotch a little faster—making (Name) let out a soft whine of surprise mixed with, sort of, arousal. (Name) doesn't utter a single word, too overwhelmed by the feeling—unfamiliar feeling of the human body's pleasure to utter a single word. He squirms, feeling Sukuna's groin grind against his most sensitive area. Feeling himself getting hotter, slick forming.
“Not the—” (Name), overwhelmed, mutters, “fuck—! What are you—” the pleasurable feeling only rising within his body as Sukuna's lips move further down onto his neckline, leaving smaller or bigger, red and puffy marks behind. “‘S not fun anymore, Sukuna—” (Name mutters, small voicings of pleasure leaving his lips, stuttering; slowly becoming an undone mess of mixed emotions. Yet Sukuna silences him with those rough, surprisingly soft, lips of his—forcing his tongue entry down (Name)’s mouth. One of Sukuna's hands lets go of (Name)’s wrists, the other still remaining, traveling down (Name)’s body—gripping his hip.
(Name) whines out, his quivering voice forming a soft whimper, hips buckling back—grinding, desperately needy. “Look at yourself; coming undone so easily,” Sukuna remarks as he leans back a little, breaking the kiss with heavy breaths. (Name) remains silent, eyebrows furrowed as the blissful blush engrossing their cheeks reddens, “at mere touches—just a little friction and you're mess beneath me,” (Name) lets out a small whine at Sukuna's words, missing the friction Sukuna provided just a few seconds ago. “You can't just—” (Name) takes in a deep breath, trying to calm down his raging, beating heart, “—just do that,” he complains, legs a little shaky.
“But did you make any effort to stop me, Usagi? Hm?” Sukuna responds, letting go of both of his wrists and sitting up—slowly grinding his groin against (Name)’s again. (Name) stays motionless, a few jerks of thighs here and there, staring at Sukuna with tear-filled eyes—small whimpers and hiccups leaving his lips. “‘Kuna, that's— that's enough,” (Name) mumbles under his nose, his shaky hand traveling to Sukuna's thigh as he tightly grips it. “How does it feel, hm? In a human’s body?” Sukuna teases, a shit-eating grin spread across his lips, taking ahold of (Name)'s hand and placing it onto his inner thigh, slowly nearing his groin, “does it feel uncomfortable? Or maybe you even feel arousal?” (Name) grits his teeth, squeezing his eyes shut from overwhelming pleasure. Pleasure builds up in the pit of his stomach, toes curling.
Tumblr media
“It's— what is that—” (Name) squeals out, their hand gripping Sukuna's thigh as the King Of Curses only chuckles at their effort. “Never experienced such pleasure before, huh?” (Name) whimpers, small shutters leaving their lips as they try to hold back their best—to no avail. Something washes over him, thighs pulled together as his back arches. Lips apart, eyes wide open in confusion—pleasure overtaking his mind to its limit of comprehension of what it thought was possible. Not once did (Name) think of human bodies much, he never was the one interested in reactions and chemical changes. They were a curse, for God's sake! So why does this feel so fucking good? Sukuna only stares at (Name) with lust in his eyes, feeling them shake beneath him as they orgasm; a whimpering mess.

Bucchigiri?! Name Meanings Part 2
Continuing some name analysis with the Siguma Squad members:
Jin Marito / ç„žæ‘©ćˆ©äșș
As previously stated, 焞 ("jin") can also be read as "kami" or "god". æ‘©ćˆ© ("mari") is likely derived from æ‘©ćˆ©æ”Żć€© ("Marishiten" in Japanese), the name of a Buddhist deity associated with light and the sun. From Wikipedia:
"In Japanese Buddhism, she is depicted as a warrior goddess – the protector of the bushi or Samurai and their passion for justice."
äșș ("to") can be read as the common word "hito" in Japanese (meaning "person"). It is used as an ending in many typically male names.
Tahide Outa / ć€§è‹±çŽ‹ć€Ș
性 ("ta" or "da") can mean "big" or "great".
While the reading of 英 as "hide" relates to excellence and prosperity, the character itself can mean several things:
1. English
2. flower, petal
3. hero
Funnily enough his last name can be read as the Japanese term for "Great Britain".
王 ("ou") is the word for "king", which forms half of the "God Kings" nickname (with "Jin" forming the other half being written with the kanji for "god"). ć€Ș ("ta" or "tai") translates most directly to "thick" or "fat" (adapted from the base character 性 which as mentioned means "big"). It might also relate to the Chinese word ć€Șć€Ș ("taitai") a title literally meaning "married woman" in Cantonese and colloquially meaning "an elected leader-wife". It can also mean the head-wife of a multi-wife (polygynous / sister-wife) family. If intentional, this meaning is sorta hilarious considering how Outa treats Marito in regards to having other (sparring) partners.
Jabashiri Nagare / 蛇蔰攁
蛇 ("jaba") can also be read as "hebi", the Japanese word for "snake". His fighting style being a combination of snake fists and headbutts (like a striking snake) is probably related to this. è”° ("shiri") can also be read as "hashi", meaning "running". 攁 ("nagare") can also be read as "ryuu", meaning "flow" or "current". This is what his nickname of "Ryuu-chan" is likely derived from.
Hagure Tatsuto / ćˆƒæšźé”ć…Ž
戃 ("ha") means "blade" or "edge". æšź ("gure" or "kure") can mean several things:
1. dusk
2. twilight
3. livelihood
4. make a living
5. spend time
達 ("tatsu") relates to reaching for or achieving something. It can be also read as "tachi", a particle used to apply to a noun to pluralize it. For example, "kodomo" means "child" and "kodomo-tachi" means "children". 慎 ("to") can also be read as "usagi", the Japanese word for "rabbit". Perhaps this relates to his rather nervous disposition.

—☆ Ill-fated 2 !
chishiya shunataro x gn!reader
Tumblr media
summary; only one more game is left but that doesn’t mean you and your beat friend’s journey will be easy
themes; friends to lovers; coworkers; slow burn; death; hurt no comfort; angst.
notes; posted this at 1AM, excuse me for any mistakes. was originally going to be a choose-your-own-ending but i scrapped it.
Tumblr media
Your arms were tightly wrapped around Chishiya’s body as tears threatened to spill from your eyes. You were so so so glad that he was alive, safe.
You felt long, slender arms travel to your back as well, your lips curved into a smile.
‘You’re alive,’ you mumbled, ‘you’re alive.’ You pulled away from him to confirm that it was really Chishiya in-front of you, it was.
It took you a good few moments to get your senses back to yourself as the gravity of the situation hit you. If Chishiya was alive then that meant
.
‘And The King
?’ you asked. Chishiya's face immediately fell, his gaze avoided yours, he seemed rather upset. 'Defeated,' he said, at last.
Your face immediately brightened up, 'that's great, isn't it? Only one more game left.' You couldn't wait to finally leave this place.
However, there was a small part of you that enjoyed the thrill and dangers of The Borderlands; you enjoyed being a part of life-and-death games and not knowing the outcome of them. It was like betting on your own life - the adrenaline released from such experiences could not be recreated in the real world.
He nodded, 'the remaining players are gathering up at the center of Shibuya for the final game.'
'Let's go then,' you said as you tried to stand up but were unsuccessful due to Chishiya forcing you to sit. 'You're in no condition to walk,' he stated.
'Shut it, I can handle myself,' you immediately responded back. You and Chishiya argued back and forth — it was mostly you that kept reassuring him of your physical state while all he did was give counterarguments to your previous statements.
Eventually, he agreed. Though, he was very reluctant but he trusted you.
The walk from your hideout to Shibuya was a painful one, to say the least. Chishiya had his arm around you for support even though you were using a cane.
The walk was silent, not a single word was exchanged between you two except for Chishiya asking you if you were okay every now and then.
That was, until, you both came across Arisu, who had a rifle and dirt covered across his body — it appeared that he may have come back from a game.
Chishiya tried to engage him into conversation but their exchanges were cut short by the interruption of Niragi shooting Chishiya in the shoulder.
Niragi looked absolutely terrifying now. sure, during his time at The Beach, he was intimidating due to the authority that was given to him but now? With the burns and scars that decorated his entire body, he looked horrifying. The scars truly reflected his inner demeanour.
A gun was thrown towards Chishiya from Niragi who encouraged him to join him in a game of his own. Arisu was not interested and tried to peacefully talk Niragi out of it while Chishiya filled Niragi's desire for a shoot-out.
The white-haired man had instructed you to hide behind a few cars and you did so even though you were against his idea of playing with Niragi.
The shoot-out ended rather quickly with Arisu terribly injuring Niragi by shooting him in the abdomen. However, out of everyone, Chishiya was the one to be the most injured with two bullet wounds across his body - one on his shoulder and the other near his heart.
Arisu and Usagi were hesitant to leave Chishiya bleeding out but you reassured them that you'd take care of him.
You rushed over to Chishiya and began to help him as much as you could while calling him all sorts of name and scolding him for acting so irrationally.
He smiled slightly as he listened to you to complain.
With a sigh, you leaned on the car behind you as you sat beside an injured Chishiya. You had done as much fixing as you could to his wounds; you both were now injured and fatigued.
'Why'd you do it?' you asked slowly, turning towards him. 'Do what?' he asked in-turn. 'The bullet, why'd you take the bullet for me?' you spoke, shuddering at the memory of Niragi attempting to shoot you.
'I don't know,' he simply replied, 'but atleast now, we're even.' 'You scared me so much,' you sighed.
'You were worried for me?'
'I guess.'
He smiled, a genuine smile appeared on his face - it was a rather rare sight and you the cause of it.
Your hands had subconsiousely found their way onto his hands. His hands were getting colder and colder by the minute. You rubbed your thumb on them.
'Chishiya...' you called out his name, turning to look at the man beside you but you got no reaction from him.
Your eyes widened in panic as the realisation dawned upon you. Your lips were quivering and your entire body was trembling. Hot tears were spilling from your eyes which couldn't believe what they were seeing.
Your hands found Chishiya's left hand as you checked his pulse but you felt nothing. Absolutely nothing. There was no response. Confirming that he was dead.
Tears spilled from your eyes as your hands attempted to wipe off every single one of them but were failing to do. You couldn't believe it. You couldn't believe it all that your bestfriend was dead.
The sounds of an ECG trace machine woke you up with a start. You had a massive headache and there was a sharp pain coming from one of your legs.
You tried to stood upright on the bed you were laying in but failed to do so due to the numerous wires that were connected across your body. Still, you observed your surroundings: there was a large flourescenat light that was placed at the top of the ceiling and the walls were white - too white for your liking.
You cursed, apparently you were in a hospital for a leg injury ( and a few other minor ones ) without any recollection of what had caused them.
The sounds of the knocking on your door jumped you out of your thoughts, you yelled "come in" to whoever was knocking. It was your sister.
'How're you holding up?' she asked with a smile as she entered your hospital room. You ignored her question, 'what happened?' 'You don't remember? There was meteor that flew into Tokyo and you were caught in the middle of it,' she bit her lip, 'did anyone tell you that...?'
Your looked at her in confusion at her last question, 'tell me what?' 'About Chishiya
’ she trailed off.
Right. You completely forgot that he was with you, going to the cafe, at the time of the attack. Suddenly, your mind was swarmed with terrifying thoughts of Chishiya’s condition.
‘The funeral service is tomorrow, I’m really sorry,’ she spoke.
As her words penetrated your ears, your body began to tremble and shake uncontrollably. You managed to muster out some words in response to her announcement: ‘you’re kidding right? Chishiya isn’t — he can’t be.’
Your face was now covered with wet tear stains and you felt such uncontrollable sadness. Your heart was beating out of your chest as you struggled to breathe — not enough oxygen was entering your lungs, they felt as though they were drowning in water.
Your mind was filled with haphazard thoughts, trying to convince you that maybe, just maybe he wasn’t gone.
You but your lip but you could only feel the metallic taste of blood in your mouth; you tried to stop the tears but your attempts were futile.
Your mind was trying come up with different possibilities or reasons that would prove that he wasn’t gone. You tried and tried but you couldn’t.
No matter how hard you tried to deny it, it was true.
Your best friend had been taken away from you and you couldn’t save him, not like how he saved you.

So we done now, this the real shit?
(all characters aged up)
You're boss set you up on a mission with a group which consists of 4 boys. However that group was you're worst nightmare because your ex, Jodio was a part of it. You two had broken up 3 years ago and you had cut off all contact with him because he had decided to cheat on you. Despite him being there, you wanted to make your boss proud so you agreed to the mission. On the day of the mission, you meet up with the 'nightmare' of a group. Meryl introduces you to the group. "Alright y'all this is (name and last name), shes gonna help us with our mission". However Jodio had no idea you were going to be here. "Hey lil lady", Paco winked at you. Usagi whistles your way. "Hello boys", you scoff at their stupidity. "Well I'll be" Jodio says surprised. "It's good to see you again (name)" Jodio smiles. You hate it when he does that because he could make you forgive him easily. "You guys know each other!?" Paco shouts. "yeah, he's my ex-boyfriend". I state. "Oh, honey if I new he was your ex, i wouldn't have let you come" Meryl apologises. "No no it's fine, i won't be interacting with him anyway". I say. "actually we are on a break" Jodio interrupts. "For 3 years? Also weren't you the one who broke up with me?". Everyone was stunned, who would want to break up with a cutie like you? "Not cool dude" Paco nudges him. "i put us on a break". "you expect me to believe that? You left me for three years thinking you were gonna come back, but no you were out partying with your other hoes!" you shout him honestly angry that he the audacity to even talk right now. Jodio tries to speak again but Usagi stops him, "Alright lets get on with the mission guys, no need to argue". You give him a dirty look before following Paco and Usagi to the main section of the party where the man you were supposed to catch would be lurking. The man's name was Rohan Kisibe. "May I have a dance?" You turn around to see Jodio. "It's part of the mission of course" he coughed explaining himself. You sigh and take his hand. He leads you to the dance floor and holds you tight by the waist with one hand and the other entangled with yours. You put your other hand on his shoulder as you two begin to dance. "I want you back ma, why won't you give me a chance". He whispered into your ear. "You know why, i don't like men like you." His shrunched up his face. "Men like me? Fuck you mean men like me?" You let go of him but he holds you tighter to him. "no no no, I'm sorry, i only left because I was on an important mission, i thought about you everyday, wondering if you would be able to forgive me". He burrys his head in your shoulder. "Why did you put us on a break then?" You pat his head awkwardly. "I knew you wouldn't approve of me taking that mission and i didn't want to hurt you". "but you did hurt me". "I know and I'm sorry". You sigh "I forgive you". "Yayyyyyy" he whispers.

ROTTMNT Curiosities Part.4
The difficult part of the series was fitting the entire plot into 11 minutes for one episode, there were great things that were eliminated for this reason, the general opinion (from high ranks) was that action shows lasted 22 minutes to sell toys, while comedies got ratings
The soundtrack of the series is not much, so it is likely that an official soundtrack will not come out Some episodes were broadcast out of order
Even if you don't have a conceptual art book,
If they were Animal Crossing villagers. Leo would be a cheetah, Raph something cute and furry, Mikey something fierce like a badger, Donnie an immortal jellyfish
Big Mama is a mix of Headey's role as Ma-Ma in the movie Dredd and Mary Poppins
Russ imagines that Splinter had some kind of naming ceremony for them and made their own birth certificates, or some kind of formal Hamato Clan indoctrination scroll.
Stockboy's design was based on Egghead Jr
Splinter's mother's Guardian's job was probably to make sure the Foot Clan didn't get the Dark Armor teapot.
The words Hypno says in The Clothes Don't Make the Turtle are the surnames of those who worked on the series
Russ intended Don Suave to look like a young Ricardo MontalbĂĄn
In the chapter of The Hidden City Job, Don Suave says “Machismo”, however the writers were looking for a word of “exaggerated masculinity”, but that was interpreted in other ways, that is why it was changed in Spanish (Russ apologized for the confusion)
Russ appears in two episodes in Mascot Melee and Breaking Purple
In Pizza Puffs when Leo comes in sick with the baker, Ben (Leo) was asked to do 2 takes with what he would say, then he was asked not to read the script and say what he remembered. The result was sicker and stranger
If you have Google Home you can set Rise alarms (All written by Josh Riley Brown) Say “Hey Google, set a Donatello alarm for a minute” to try (This is years old, so I don't know if it works yet)
Carol is April's neighbor (she is not her mother)
Originally in "Shadow of Evil", Draxum was about to execute April and Splinter, and also Donnie and Mikey had a rock-paper-scissors fight to see who would be next to fight Splinter (This in homage to TMNT movie 1990)
The boys appeared in “Always Be Brownies”, this was discarded to give April the lead role.
It is up to each Hamato member to look after Shredder's return. It was Grandpa Sho's turn when he was young, but unfortunately Splinter's mother died under his watch.
None of the Foot recruits have a name.
A chapter had been thought of where it was told how Mikey and Raph were close as children
Cassandra was not planned to be Casey, that came up throughout the series
As for the boys' design, it is shadows that are seen, not black pants
There were no plans to do a crossover with Usagi, but the idea of one in the future has not been ruled out
The ideas of making and ending the series through IDW comic would be easy to do

Actually, going back to yesterday's topic of TMNT 2003 and it's lack of romantic subplots with the turtles themselves, I think this is the part where I mention that TMNT 2003 actually came into my life at just the perfect time?
So a little over a year ago, I ended my first serious relationship as an adult. I don't like talking about my ex too much even now, but we were together for over five years and after the break up, the next several months were spent stewing in a boiling pot of rage, sadness, and regret. I wanna say all my negative feelings towards my ex and our relationship peaked during May - July 2023 and didn't simmer down until around autumn, which coincidentally was about when I started watching TMNT 2003. (I'm also convinced that a lot of the stress from the breakup led to some of the minor-yet-concerning health problems I've been dealing with over the last several months, but I have no way of proving that.)
One of the big problems is that, at the time I broke up with my ex, I tended to watch/play a lot of romance-focused media. Under normal circumstances, I'd still be able to regularly engage with a lot of the shows and video games I normally do without being becoming a bitter ball of anguish. Unfortunately, within a couple of months of breaking up with ex, games I used to love like Rune Factory 4 Special or shows like Snow White with the Red Hair became absolutely unbearable play/watch because of all the negative feelings I had towards my ex. If a love interest wasn't reminding me of my ex with certain...behaviors, I was looking at a relationship onscreen and thinking to myself "Why couldn't we be like that?" It was a nightmare.
Fast forward (lmao) to... god, when did I start watching TMNT 2003? I wanna say I started watching it either late August or early September? The pipeline of how I ended up watching TMNT 2003 is a weird one, but there were a couple of things that stuck out to me when I first started watching it. For starters, even though it was a Western cartoon, there were certain quirks about it that reminded me of the anime I usually watch (namely the fight choreography and being so heavily plot-focused rather than episodic in its storytelling) and I found myself gravitating towards it because of that alone. And I just love the characters. The turtles themselves are incredibly well-rounded with their own strengths and flaws, and the supporting cast and antagonists make the world feel very alive and lived-in. (I personally can't get over how half the time the turtles aren't even attempting to get into trouble; they usually just end up walking into the plot of the week purely by accident.)
Tumblr media
But besides that, as I mentioned in my other post, even though there are a couple of romantic subplots in the show, most notably the April/Casey one that spans pretty much the entire series, the turtles themselves never end up entering a serious relationship with anyone. The closest we ever get to romance with one of the turtles is Don's one-sided crush on April, which was never going to go anywhere on account of her being an adult and ending up with Casey, and I wanna say the crush is almost entirely dropped by midway through Season 3. Beyond that, the turtles are never shown becoming physically attracted to anyone and all their important relationships--Splinter, April, Casey, Klunk, Leatherhead, Honeycutt, Sydney, Angel, the Professor, the Justice Force, Traximus, the Daimyo, Usagi, Gen, Renet, the Ancient One, the Acolytes, Cody, Serling, and Starlee--are all strictly platonic. And you know what? That's okay by my book.
It is a fact that society regularly insists that the key to happiness is finding your One True Love and places more emphasis on romantic relationships than platonic ones. I personally don't want to die alone, but at this point in my life, I don't need a romantic relationship to be happy--in fact, I think being in a relationship would just complicate things when I'm still getting my shit together as is. When you look at Leo, Raph, Don, and Mikey within the context 2003, I cannot recall a single moment where one of them complains about how their status as a one-of-a-kind mutant turtle means they'll probably never land a partner and as far as I can tell, they seem perfectly happy as is. They have each other, they have Splinter, April and Casey are there too, Klunk, all their other friends--really, what would giving one of the boys a love interest do for them? The answer; not all that much, honestly. In fact, I feel like the risk of giving any of the 2003 turtles a love interest far outweighs the reward.
Now, mind you, I don't think it's impossible to give one of the 2003 turtles a serious love interest--in fact, I have a lot of thoughts about how it could be done right--and that it actually would be something worth exploring in a reboot/sequel series that'll likely never happen, but again, I don't think that TMNT 2003 suffers for the lack of turtle romances and is perfectly fine as is. 2003!Leo, Raph, Don, and Mikey are very lovable characters and are able to have fulfilling relationships without any of them being romantic in nature and I think that's a good message to send to people, whether you're a young kid or a grown adult. Romance is great, but so is a crushing bear hug from your three brothers, your rat dad, and the two humans you adopted.

Are the legs female? I assume they're meant to be because they have high heels. But they could also belong to a real long legged guy- They could be non-binary who knows. Araki I need an explanation about these fucking legs why the hell- where the fuck did he get an outfit like this??

Why is everyone so mean to me </3 Mini-analyses time. So Usagi calls Dragona "Pink-Chan" which I assume is just an artifact from the Japanese translation. He calls himself blue. Pretty basic male and female colors. The way he speaks kinda makes me think he has a crush on Dragona. That or he's, You know. GAY
Tumblr media
Go go gadget hand tumor
Tumblr media
We get Usagi's stand and it's FUCKING IT HAS THE LEGS ON IT WHAT THE SHIT MAN I DIDN'T NOTICE UNTIL JUST NOW WHYT OES IT SHOWA WHY THE FUCK DOES THE STAND OVER THE LEGS AOIFHAIWUFHOAFHAIAFSOJAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's neat that we're getting a bunch of utility stands this part instead of the beatdown bandits of part 8. It's a more part 7 approach where the stands are used to aid in combat instead of being the primary focus.
Tumblr media
Yeah go white boy do your silly little dance I am clapping woo yeah
Tumblr media
Hot Dog Man Vs. Hot Dog Guy
Tumblr media
This, Absolutely not intentional. I assure you. But the way the Speedline are drawn around Usagi makes it look like he has a Holy Halo.
Tumblr media
Jesus Jumpscare. I highly doubt it means anything but- I felt the need to point it out. The marks the end of chapter 2. Uhhhh I like this funny little silly guy he's so oooo so silly he's gonna die a horrible horrible fucking death he is not surviving this part man is gonna DIE... Uhhh Araki always tryina add in his self insert like why the hell is Rohan the Bus Driver? I think they should give Usagi a gun that would be cool...
