I think something that is REALLY fun about having a small animal that needs to live in a habitat is making it a hobby to try to make the best possible habitat for them. Like there's nothing more fun than planning and executing different ways create paradise for an animal with a brain no larger than a peanut.

I must point out at no point in these Umbrella Chronicles novel scenes did Chris actually meet or speak to Wesker. Hoe regularly talks to himself about Chris in canon.

Also need it known that Jill was there for the Tyrant Confrontation and is fighting alongside Chris the whole damn time.

I hope the remakes keep "Wesker ignores all women and refuses to speak to them for Chris" because it's funny and iconic.

It's kinda funny to me that so many people are up in arms about Neo's actions in C8 when it's easy for me to dismiss simply because that ain't Neo, yknow?

Like, Neo has never pussyfoot around murder. If she wants you dead, you gonna get dead. From Neo about to stab Yang while the latter is unconscious to Neo and Ruby falling through the void while Neo uses the visuals of Ruby's loved ones to try and weaken her enough for Neo to strangle her to death, Neo has always been fairly direct in her methods

So, it's difficult to reconcile that version of Neo with the one who would passively let her target take themselves out

Not to mention the semblance shift. Neo's semblance, Overactive Imagination, is illusions manifested via semblance glass. They shatter upon contact. Because they're illusions

That's the biggest deal breaker for me. Crwby changed her semblance so much she might as well be a whole ass other person. Fuck, it could've been an Afteran. It's not like Neo was needed here, especially with how easily she was discarded

Instead of illusions, Neo's new abilities seem to be... animorphing people/creatures she may or may not have met via semblance clones and allowing them sentience

The point of illusions is they're not physical. It's not an actual transformation, but rather the aesthetic of one. This could have worked if they kept the semblance evolution to multiple illusions at once OR allowing physical transformation, either of which would have been super cool to see, but they pushed too far. There's too many upgrades that deviate so much from the original ability that it's a whole ass new power

So, immediately on her introduction, the og Jabber is killed(?) and in its place is... multiple Neo-Jabbers. Who can eat other creatures alive. And apparently desire to do so

This implies that all her semblance clones of others have their own sentience. Which would never make sense when she never interacted with anyone in that torture scene besides Roman. Seriously why the fuck is Lionheart here? Give us nothing, king

Now, given that we are shown the stream of souls, what could have happened is the illusions were possessed by folks who needed to get a last word in, but that's not. what. happened.

Instead, we have the writers disregarding a character's inability to speak so they can brutalize a teenager in the stupidest way possible, and throwing away all logic of a fairly easy to understand power because it suits their plot needs

Just for us to witness Mary's reaction, after she blows up the wall, and finds Ava in a liplock with a yet another dude she just met. This time, in a dungeon. Where he spent a thousand years, locked up for suspicious reasons.

Continuing with reptiles, I did recently change up Charis's viv a little and quite like the result so far. But I have some more things to do yet!

I want to see if I can raise one of her big branches up and secure it with screws on either end of the viv, to free up some ground space. I was avoiding it bc I don't entirely want it to be more difficult to move, but I need more space for a larger water dish again. And I want to keep a large horizontal branch in for her to lay on if she wants.

Also with the water dish, I want to add an air stone to it again for water movement, humidity, etc.

I also want to finally actually use more of her vertical space, which I've meant to do for ages. I'm still debating the configuration, but I want to add some thick rope, these big banana leaf hoops I got ages ago with crab store stuff, and maybe set up something where I could easily switch out a hanging item for different things for enrichment?

And also to help with humidity, I'm planning to build a planter box to put up along the back wall of the viv, and add more live plants to that. I looked at some commercial ones, but they look either too flimsy to hold substrate + snake butt, or they have weird slants or iffy materials. So I'd rather just build something myself. Whether it'll come out better than buying something.... well, TBD. 😂 I need the practice anyway.

After that poll with the "over 300 hours logged on a video game" bit I got curious about my LOTRO play time so I did the /played check on the ones I play the most...

That's on Evernight Lennidhren, who's at level 140. (There's also Landroval Lennidhren, who was around...85-ish, maybe, last time I played on that server?) If my math is correct that comes to almost 1393 hours logged in on my elven librarian lore-master.

Up next is Corbous, level 112 Hobbit Brawler:

So that should be about 286 hours of punching things. :-D (Also, he's that close to level cap and less than a quarter of the time it took Lenni to get there? Brawlers, man. Although of course I've been spending less time on underlevel quests with him and just moving on when quests in a zone turn grey because I've seen them before on Lenni anyway, after all. And I haven't done any festivals and such on him yet either, just zooming to Mordor.

Next highest leveled is Ianthina, level 53 high elf Runekeeper, the LOTRO incarnation of my Pillars of Eternity inquisitor past-life of Watcher Violet (as Corbous is the LOTRO incarnation of Vi's older brother Corbus Itzli...). Note how she's, you know, less than half of Corbs' level? Note how long it took her to get there:

Brawlers, man. In 286 hours he gets to level 112, and in over 330 hours my Runekeeper is just up to 53?

Let's take one more example...my high elf minstrel Fjiola (LOTRO incarnation of Fjóla Reinert who's a Pillars chanter/cipher for a PoE ttrpg we...may or may not ever get around to actually playing, but it's been a while since I first started making her) got to level 35 before I discovered the magic of speed-leveling a Brawler and abandoned her until Corbous, like, single-handedly punches Sauron or something:

So a bit over 31 hours...For a total of over 2000 hours logged in just to the four characters I've played the most overall and recently on one server. I should probably revisit my Landroval and Crickhollow (formerly of Nimrodel...er...I think Crickhollow was where that server got merged to long ago?) and see what their play time was like, too, but anyway. It's a lot. I've been playing since about half a year after LOTRO launched except for a few years when I burnt out on Landroval and didn't play until more recently on Evernight. I guess this does confirm that I chose wisely to buy my lifetime subscription to this game back when they still offered those...I think I've gotten my money's worth after more than 2000 hours! :-D
