aight guys the last time i updated these was like in 2022 and god knows I love my Les Mis playlists so i felt like it’d be good to remake it

about two years ago i made a playlist based off the lemony snicket 'i will love you' poem and the love that i thought it represented because it was my absolute favorite love poem ever. kind of unfortunately , i've been needing to delete it for a while, just because of some really ironic coincidences and associations. i've been holding onto it for a bit , mostly because it had a small amount of saves ( lol 75 ) and a lot of sentiment behind it, but i think it's well past it's time to delete it! i wanted to write down the songs i included and why i included them, both to have it written down so i can look back on the playlist if i ever want to and also because i like over explaining my playlists :p

julia - reeder : when i made this playlist , this is just what love sounded like to me

i will follow you into the dark - death cab for cutie : a little self-explanatory , love that sits beside devotion and is willing to follow one another into the unknown ( i also used to be an enjoltaire fan )

boats & birds - gregory and the hawk : kind of encapsulates a feeling of being willing to let your love go so they can be happy , and being okay with being left with the memories

a wistful waltz - teddy hyde : i used to really like this song when i was in a long distance relationship , but i think it also works with knowing something will end and wanting to make the most of the time you have left

reflecting light - sam phillips : a self indulgent add , this is my favorite love song ( still is ). it's like , thinking you know everything but this new thing completely changes how you view things

the only thing - sufjan stevens : not the original intention of the song at all , but i added it because of the line "everything i see returns to you, somehow"

i will - mitski : just a love where you so deeply want to care for the other , seeing them at their worst and most awful but still loving them deeply

let you break my heart again - laufey : the ultimate yearning song for the ultimate yearning poem sounded fitting. but also, the resignation to a lifetime ( or forseeable future ) of yearning

stray italian greyhound - vienna teng : also a self indulgent add , my favorite song about unexpected love, and not knowing what to do with this love you now suddenly have to live with

a complete list of fears ages 5-28 (aprox) - the yellow dress : being scared of everything in the world , but now all of a sudden losing this person is the worst possible scenario. he kind of already lost her in the poem, but i think it still works

nothing matters but you - the young veins : a love where like , the other is your whole entire world

waiting room - phoebe bridgers : well, yes! wanting to wait for them forever ( lemony is a real yearner ) but also, knowing nothing is going to change

the bug collector - haley heynderickx : i added this one because it's very much a song because i thought it fit the existing vibe but also because of the "'cause i must make you the perfect morning" line

i will never love again - mark knopfler : on my first ever date , me and my highschool ex watched the princess bride. it's been my favorite movie since then , and i just thought the message of buttercup never loving again once she lost westley was kind of beatrice letters coded. i wanted to just add something from the soundtrack , and this one fit the vibe best

for you - laura marling : never letting the memory of them get away from you

j's lullaby (darlin' i'd wait for you) - delaney bailey : being willing to wait/do anything for your love ( a common theme here )

100 years - OR30 : carrying a torch for someone for years despite literally so much time having passed

honeybee - steam powered giraffe : i loved steam powered giraffe in highschool and need to add them to every playlist ever. fortunately this one kind of naturally fit nicely. someone's love literally changing your life and not knowing what to do once they are gone

i will (remastered 2009) - the beatles : "will i wait a lonely lifetime? / if you want me to, i will"

sadness as a gift - adrianne lenker : i added this song after i hadn't touched the playlist for months ( maybe a year? ) , and thought it was the perfect end to the playlist, or at least with the themes it kind of carried for me. taking the grief you feel when you lose your love as a gift and as acknowledgement that you had something worth grieving

looking back on this playlist , it was so incredibly self indulgent , but i still kind of think i got the correct vibes from the source material sooooo a win! i hope no one who saved the playlist really liked it a whole lot since i don't think it saves even if you have it saved. sending a sorry into the world if that is the case for anyone :(

-Les Mis but none of the songs are from Les Mis is my jukebox musical playlist, you can add songs that make you think of Les Mis or that you think are similar in meaning to some les mis songs. It’s a lot of fun, and let me tell you, you guys are funny as heck. whoever put “I just died in your arms tonight” as a stand in for A Little Fall of Pain deserves an award. 

-The Amis Roadtrip through southern France playlist is a playlist I made for my road trip AU, you guys can add any song that you think the amis would listen to on a long ,boring, unpredictable drive from Paris to Montpellier and back where they have to stop every few 15 minutes because one of them got lost. 

-The ultimate ExR collaborative playlist is exactly what it sounds like. it’s a big fat playlist where you guys can add any song that makes you think of enjoltaire, due to bot activity I had to delete the original playlist :( but thats ok 

-The Noodle and The Lark is my marisette playlist, feel free to add any extra lovey-dovey, any extra fluffy love song on there. It’s just a really wholesome playlist ok 

-All That’s Left Of Us Vibes is a playlist with songs that make me think the Amis webseries of the same name, as always it is a collaborative playlist so feel free to add whichever songs you please!!! 

-Inevitable Courferre Playlist was just a disaster waiting to happen. Given my obsession with making playlists, I’m surprised I didn't make this playlist sooner (which is why it was “inevitable”). Either way this is exactly what it sounds like, its a playlist with a bunch of songs that make me think of Courferre. Like always, this playlist is collaborative, so feel free to add any songs you like!!!

-The Café Musain Playlist is a silly little collaborative playlist for you to add any songs that make you think of the Amis de l’ABC (canon era or modern!AU both), in a sense it’s similar to my road trip playlist except that this one isn't limited to songs you’d listen to in a car to not fall asleep X)

and lastly (and mind you I greatly debated whether I should even mention this one or not):

-Clairvoyance is a non-collaborative playlist where I add all the songs that make me think of my silly little platonic ExR fic idea (also named Clairvoyance... how original) so its mostly semi-angsty songs or French pop so uhhh... yeah :)
