ok so do yall think Teru said the “ah, to be young.” line to Ritsu because his time being alone has made him feel more mature than he actually is and therefore believes hes pretty much grown both comparatively and objectively or do you think he genuinely believes that someone who is at most a year younger than him is just that much younger

Reviewing Dramas I Have Watched Part 8
Again, here is my rating system:  1- Did not like, 2- Enjoyed but probably wouldn’t watch again, 3- Enjoyed and would watch some episodes again/may watch again, 4- Enjoyed and would watch again, 5- Loved
Korean Drama
My Strange Hero: 4
Trigger Warning: Suicide, Bullying, Verbal and Emotional Abuse
My Strange Hero is about a man named Bok-su (which stands for revenge), who was falsely accused by his friend and girl friend of shoving his friend off the school roof and expelled from high school. Now nine years later, he gets the opportunity to return to school but he isn’t just going to go back nicely, seeing the seemingly cozy lives those who betrayed him are living he decides to enact his revenge by proving how corrupt the high school and the people working in it are. However, his plans for revenge get more difficult to achieve when he begins to fall for his ex-girlfriend once again.
This show was cute and interesting, it made me mad and lot and Yoo Seung-ho never disappoints. I ended up watching it in less than a week with studying and all so it draws you in really fast. I absolutely loved the realistic factor of not having to forgive everyone for a good ending and to move on. Many shows, kdrama or otherwise, make characters forgive even those who did horrible things to them just for a good ending, and it’s not always that simple nor do you owe those who did horrible things to you an apology to be a good person and move on looking at you Missing Nine. However my main complaint with it is that the ending isn’t as impactful or satisfying as the ending three episodes previous. I’m glad they had the three ending episodes because the other characters got more closure, I just wish they would have made it as impactful as the ending of episode 29. It is about thirty minutes an episode so it’s a really fun and interesting watch if you need something on the shorter side. I highly recommend!

Love Alarm (Season 1): 3
Trigger Warning: Bullying, Suicide, PTSD, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Abuse
Love Alarm deals with the concept of having an app that can read your emotions and alerts your phone when you are in 10 meters of someone who loves you or alerts your crushes phone if they are within the 10 meters. It follows Jojo, a girl with a mysterious and sad past, who can’t download Love Alarm because of her phone. She is in an unhappy relationship and begins to have feelings for the new student. After being kind to a student, he gives her the phone and she can finally download it only to find that love is a lot more complicated than she originally expected.
Okay, I started this show because the new season was coming out and everyone was freaking out about it. I had been avoiding it all this time because I love Song Kang and have been following his work since his smaller roles, hoping he would get bigger roles. I was so excited when I first heard he would be the main here but couldn’t ever bring myself to watch it cause I don’t like romance love triangles and already knew he was playing the webtoon second lead which made it worse. Plus I have a trauma with anything that has Kim So-Hyun in it. I adore her acting, she is so good, too good. She just always plays in really sad, dark Kdramas and I always like the second leads in her shows so I just get sad and angry when I watch her shows. I at the time just didn’t feel like dealing with being annoyed and finally got in the mood to watch a cheesy love triangle romance. *spoiler alert* I can confidentially say that while no character and no ship is necessarily healthy, I do prefer Sun-ho to Hye-yeong. No, not because he is played by Song Kang, in the first few episodes I hated his character. I wanted to punch him so badly, but with all his immature flaws he did do some mature things. He told Hye-yeong to not fight over Jojo and to let her pick which I loved because, shows like to have the two people fight amongst themselves who gets the crush and that’s so stupid to me, Jojo is a person with feelings too and she might not like either so I loved that he said that. I also loved that instead of telling Hye-yeong not to pursue Jojo because he still loved her, he told Jojo to stay away from Hye-yeong so that he wouldn’t be hurt by her like Sun-ho was. He still loved her but his friend came first, and I felt horrible when he lost almost everyone who genuinely loved him. Hye-yeong is okay, but he isn’t even a healthier option, he literally stalks her all the time without her even knowing about it, he memorized her daily routine, where he’s going to college so he could move there to be around her, it’s just too creepy to me. Yes, Sun-oh stalked her too and that is not okay at all, but he made his presence known so that she can voice if she was uncomfortable or knew to call someone if she felt threatened, Hye-yeong sneaks around and doesn’t even talk to her and that’s super creepy to me. I just think they are both immature and personally with some growth I think Sun-oh is more fitting than Hye-yeong cause the two really do seem like they are in love with each other while Jojo and Hye-yeong seem like a crush that will turn out to be more platonic. I know it’s wishful thinking but that’s just my hopes. *spoiler over* I did really love this show actually, sometimes you just need a trashy dramatic romance. Yes, it had toxic behaviors but I still liked it, it felt like a realistic teenage couple in high school (minus Mr. Stalkery Stalks.) I think that not everything has to be analyzed, I enjoyed the cute romantic scenes at face value, even though I knew they weren’t healthy. If it happened to me in real life, I would have punched a bitch but it’s fun to watch on a screen.

Blood: 2
Trigger Warnings: Blood, Suicide, Terminal illness, Murder, Abuse.
Blood is about a surgeon who is also a vampire. He tries to control his vampire self and help humans while working on a way to make himself human. When he transfers to a new hospital things take a turn for the weird as the patients of the new ward start exhibiting symptoms he is all too familiar with.
Blood was really good for the first two thirds of the series. I watched it before I found out about the main couples real life situation but continued to enjoy it because it’s none of my business what they do in their personal lives (so please don’t message or leave comments about that situation or your opinions on it.) Both couples were super cute and there were some plot twists that admittedly got me. I liked the story line and the idea that vampires were viruses that doctors were researching in secret. I really got hooked for most of the story; however, the last few episodes felt almost like they switched writers and the new writer had never watched the previous episodes. Comments were made that never were brought up again, like the thirty minutes of vaguely discussing his parents and who he was as an infectee that was never even slightly brushed upon for the rest of the episodes let alone resolved. Not to mention that last episode was a total mess and the ending sucked. The last two episodes are not canon in my mind that’s how weirdly out of place for the show they felt, it was like a 180. The ending was so confusing and I just really hated how it all played out. Because of this, I give the show a 2 cause I did enjoy it a lot but I won’t watch it again. Once of that was enough.
Tumblr media
Legend Hero: 4
Legend Hero, also known as Legend Hero Samgugjeon or Legends Heroes the Three Kingdoms, is about people who compete in a dream battle to acquire their ultimate dream. The main character acquired three spirit helpers which help him in combat by transforming him into an armored knight with special power, and later befriends angels who help him in the battles by boosting this power. He has to fight friend and foe alike to achieve his ultimate dream but that begs the question, is a dream really worth it?
I really enjoyed this show, it was admittedly difficult to get into at first but once I did, I was hooked. The characters were so cute and endearing, the plot had humor, angst, and fluff alike. The acting was a little silly at points but it was made for kids so it’s a little overdramatic. It was all around a very entertaining watch, I watched the whole series while on vacation during the resting hours when my family and I were lazing around the hotel and it was such a refreshing, happy, lazy watch. I highly recommend for those who enjoy a happy watch when they just wish to relax.
Tumblr media
Web-Drama/Mini-Series
Power Rangers Dino Force Brave: 4
Power Rangers Dino Force Brave, while technically a sequel to the super sentai series, is a original stand alone production and sSouth Korean take on the power rangers series. While the power rangers finally enjoy the peace that had come to the earth, a new threat is brewing. The Neo-Deboth Army has arrived looking for the power of the dinosaur king, the power ranger once more have to come together to defeat this threat.
This show was super interesting and cute. I have never seen any of the power ranger series so I am entirely inexperienced when it comes to their world. However, I can confidentially say this is a good stand alone as I was not confused while watching it. The first episode got recommended to me on youtube and since I was bored and unsure of what to do, I decided to watch it. I believe I finished the whole series in only a few days. It was super cute and I liked how ironic and silly the ending was with all the characters, including the evil ones dancing together. I’m sure die hard power rangers fans hated that but as someone who knows nothing about the series, I found it quite hilarious. The plot itself was entertaining and cool, it had some angst moments and some cute moments. I loved the ending, but that’s all I will say about that.
Tumblr media
Founder of Diabolism Q: 3
Founder of Diabolism Q is simply snippets of cute or funny scenes from the book that didn’t make it into the series or at least not in as much detail. It follows many characters in small, five minute long episodes and the shenanigans they get in to.
Founder of Diabolism Q was super cute! I have watched The Untamed and read some of the book but haven’t watch the actual anime yet. Still, I decided to watch this short series. I watched each episode as it came out and loved every one. There isn’t much to say on it though, other than it was super cute and if you love The Untamed or its adaptions, I highly recommend. Just make sure you watch or read one of the full adaptions first otherwise you will be very confused.
Tumblr media
Imaginary Cat: 4
Trigger Warning: Depression, Suicide, Vomit, Illness, Death
Imaginary Cat is about an aspiring webtoon artist who, after loosing his crush and falling into a depression, finds a cat in an alley and takes her in. He is able to recover from the loss and get back into writing when he meets a girl who is obsessed with cats especially after she lost her kitten as a child. He is just trying to get his webtoon accepted and she just wants to get close to him and his cat.
This was such a cute little easy watch, but was really sad at some points throughout the series. I teared up through some scenes and laughed so hard through others. I also related a lot to how the main plays with his cat, especially when said cat wants none of it. It was a really nice mini-drama to watch in the very little time I had between studying and moving house. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend to those who want a easy watch that’s a little sad and very cute.
Tumblr media
Korean Movies
The Magician: 4
Trigger Warning: Blood, Abuse, Drugs, Suicide Attempt, Murder, Death
The Magician is set in the Joseon Era and follows the famous magician, Hwan-hee. He along with his blind friend Bo-eum ran away from their abusive caretaker as children and are still worrying about being found by him even to this day as they perform to keep their livelihoods. Meanwhile a noble lady who was sold to the Qing dynasty comes to town. The two end up running into each other and quickly fall in love, however they both have to overcome the obstacles in their way in order to be together.
I loved this movie, I had to pause a few times just to process how much I personally enjoyed it. I wish I was able to watch it in a better quality because I never once saw how his one eye was blue, I just took their word and the movie poster for it. Unfortunately, it was the only place I could find to watch so I took what I could. The only reason I am giving it a four instead of a five is the ending sucked. I hated the ending. It just felt unnecessary and honestly really pissed me off. I don’t always need a happy ending but I also didn’t need that kind of ending either. I would still recommend it to those who like angst with some romance and a open-ish ending.
Tumblr media
Seondal The Man Who Sells the River: 5
Trigger Warnings: Blood, Death, Vomit, Gore
Seondal is supposedly a comedy about a group of swindlers who become fast family after escaping from a war they were drafted in. They work together to swindle their way into riches and out of dangerous situations. They gained a huge name in the Joseon dynasty for even swindling the king. However, after tragedy strikes, they decide to do their greatest job yet, sell a river of fake gold.
The movie was really good, both funny and heartbreaking. My friend and I watched it together thinking it would be a nice comedy after we watched some sad kdrama earlier that week however, it was most certainly not. We both ended up crying and raging. So just be warned it claims to be a comedy and it is hilarious for the first half of the movie, however it quickly turns dark so fast you are just sitting their in shock wondering what happened. I thought Xiumin’s acting was great and his character was adorable. I had not seen his acting before and he easily became a favorite. The movie’s plot and writing kept you engaged and entertained throughout and the ending was great in my opinion. Overall it was a really good watch, I have seen it twice now and thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend to those who enjoy both comedy and angst.

a/n: I have a terrible writer’s block so... today’s chapter ain’t so swell... but at least I got you some charisk kiss at the end as an apology?
"Hi, brother," Asriel's chipper voice echoed through the phone and you rolled your eyes.
"What do you need, Az?"
"Can't I check on my only brother?"
You snorted.
Asriel sighed. "I heard that you fainted and got worried. Are you taking care of yourself?"
"Are you turning to mom? I'm fine. I don't even remember what happened. Seriously, you all are overdramatic."
"And I think that you are way too carefree about this. Plus, dad and mom are acting weird for a while, I think since you got sick. So every change is making me anxious."
You raised your brow and lied on your bed. Having a really weird week won't get weirder from some gossip from your brother. "How so?"
"They have been talking more on the phone than ever. I have been eavesdropping since dad is awful at hiding secrets. They are talking about some country scale scandal a really long time ago. I think it might be connected to you."
"What scandal? The running mayor adopting a child with a knife? How is that a country scale? He was just a city mayor. We're not that big of a deal."
"You do realize that dad comes from a family who served the army and had pretty high ranks? And our town wasn't that small either—"
"I know dad's family history, idiot. I'm not going to follow it after all so I need to know what to avoid."
"Chara…"
"Az, I'm just the adopted son. The press was not happy with that and were trashing dad. I wasn't interested anyways, so I clocked out. You are a much better option than me, after all. Now, anything more?"
Asriel kept quiet for a while before sighing. "No… if I'll find anything more, I'll tell you, okay?"
"Thank you."
"…Take care of yourself, big brother… okay? You nearly gave me a heart attack when I heard."
You chuckled in exasperation. "You're turning into a mom for certain. I'm taking care of myself no problem."
"I'm trusting you here, Chara. Anyways, gotta go. See you later!"
And the call ended. You sighed and turned onto your side, pulling the blanket over yourself.
RING. RING.
"Oh, for fucks' sake!" You groaned and reached for the phone. "I really regret letting mom buy it."
You picked it up and swiped the green button without checking the number. It probably was mom or something.
"Hello?" You lied back down, so tired you were about to drop. You should conclude this phone call as quick as possible—
"Hello." An unfamiliar voice came out. You blinked and huffed in annoyance. Figures.
"Is that a telemarketing call? I'm not interested in buying anything. Goodni—"
"So spider was right. What pleasant news."
"Huh? Excuse me, but who are you?" You knew you should hang up. But that voice… something made you freeze and go against your instincts.
You felt something pushing at the back of your head.
"Not important. I was just making sure of something. Now I can start planning. See you soon, Player."
The phone hung.
You stared at it, wondering if you were going insane. Perhaps the past few days were driving you insane and now you were hallucinating.
There was no way some random guy on the phone called the same name you were hearing in your visions.
You needed sleep.
You dropped the phone and returned under your blanket, falling asleep soon after.
A flash of white with a red slash marring the image was the last thing you saw before sleep overtook you.
"I got another stalker… and I get the feeling Muffet is connected to it."
Grillby looked up from his papers, brows furrowed on top of his glasses. You waited for a response, your arms folded with your body leaning on the door frame. Finally, your boss fixed his glasses and stood up, walking towards you.
You stiffened, wondering if he was going to force you to stay here as well. Frisk seemed to be stuck here for eternity now after all.
The taller man stood before you, and then placed a hand on your shoulder. "…Tell Undyne… need to… stop it…"
Well, you couldn't say that you weren't expecting that.
You shrugged. "Sure, boss."
"…I'm worried…"
"I know. I hate this mess as well. Believe me I have no idea what even triggered it. Only thing I know to do is confront Muffet, especially since apparently she finished what she needed and I have a bad feeling about her next move."
Grillby pondered over it. "…Might be good…"
"We would have to ask Frisk to join."
"No."
You jolted at the level of intensity from the quiet man then frowned. "Grillby, we need her. Muffet might only speak if Frisk is around."
"No."
"Why not? She's not a baby!" You were starting to get angry. Frisk was being hurt by this woman for no reason and if confronting her would stop this madness, you had to take the chance.
"…Not ready…"
"Oh, for fuck's sake!" You exclaimed and nearly stomped your feet. Why was Grillby so stubborn? "This is Frisk's decision! Stop making her decisions for herself!"
"…" Grillby stared at you and you felt as if he was judging you. You glared back, not wanting to lose this.
At the end, Grillby sighed and rubbed his nose bridge, fixing his glasses. "Ask… Undyne…"
I frowned. "You want to have someone else decide? Grillby, this is Frisk's decision. They know perfectly well how much they can handle Muffet. Even if they would say no, at least it was their will and not against it. You're being irrational."
"I'm right here."
You nearly flew out of your skin when you felt Frisk's arm pressing to yours. You placed a hand on your chest. "Make some noise!"
"…Sorry," Frisk muttered half-heartedly but then zeroed on Grillby and strolled to him, standing before him and folding her arms. "Don't stop me."
"…Don't…"
The redhead pale man in his late fifties stood before the young dark haired and copper skinned woman of twenty. Both begun staring each other down.
You saw how Grillby looked wearier than usual, probably doesn't want to risk Frisk's safety. Frisk, on the other hand, knows Muffet and her inability to escape.
Both seemed to be so far from one another yet… something connected them.
The existence a single person? His death? A chance meeting?
You started to feel a bit awkward at how long it was going to go on for and fidgeted, looking at the clock.
Eight o'clock in the evening, third night to Frisk's house arrest and your forced upon bodyguard. You knew Undyne was waiting for you to call her for the ride home.
Should you ditch her again?—
Grillby and Frisk sighed at the same time and the former placed a hand on the long hair for a moment before drawing the latter to an awkward embrace.
You blinked from your daydreaming and stared in shock as Grillby hugged Frisk.
What just happened? Did you miss something?
"…Reckless."
"Indecisive."
"…Joe?"
"Yes."
"…Of course…" Grillby had a small nostalgic expression and withdrew, taking off his glasses and cleaning them on his apron, the green eyes visible along with the crow feet and the bags.
He looked old.
Frisk returned her hands to her pockets and tilted her head. "You'll come?"
"…Of course."
"I'm against it."
"Undyne!"
"Look, if she is indeed done with you guys, I don't want to risk her having more than just a few connections," The Amazonian woman said firmly as she slurped the special of today – Noodle soup that you scraped up for the hungry woman as a compensation for ride so late. "I spoke with Dion today and they had a strange anonymous caller. It might be the one info that could stop her. You need to wait."
"And we need to trust him? We only met him for two minutes in which he didn't color me impressed," You stated.
Frisk frowned when Undyne sighed and placed her spoon down. "I need to."
"Why? Because of personal grudge? I understand she used you, but it doesn't make the situation any different!" Undyne exclaimed, slamming her hands on the table. "Would you please listen to me once!? Chara's boss, put some sense into them!"
Grillby kept quiet.
Undyne growled. "I see how it is."
"Undyne, Dion can come with us with backup if you would feel better that way," You said.
"How would that make me feel better!? You are facing someone who's on a wanted list!"
"Undyne—"
"And you are the worst!" Undyne grabbed her head with her hands. "You should want to keep your girlfriend safe, you punk!"
You and Frisk exchanged a look and then snorted. Frisk made an amused face. "No need."
I smirked. "Really, Undyne? You found out how strong Frisk was and you knew her for barely a minute."
"GAH!" Undyne threw her hands in the air in surrender. "Fine! FINE! But only because I trust you. I'll call the brat and we'll decide on how to corner Muffet."
I placed a hand on her shoulder, drawing the seething redhead's attention to me. "Thank you, Undyne."
Undyne's eyes flashed. "Don't thank me yet, punk."
Dion seemed ecstatic at the offer, as Undyne begrudgingly said over the phone at lunch break. You smirked and then gave Frisk a thumb up. The short woman gave you an unamused stare and you grinned.
"I knew that."
"No, you didn't," You retorted. "You haven't even looked at him, you just saw a cop and went into the back."
Frisk's gaze darkened and you realized that you probably shouldn't have said that… "Oops?"
"I hate you."
You felt a bit hurt even if you knew it was a joke. You shrugged. "I know."
Frisk's eyes widened and she frowned. "It was a joke."
Your grin grew more genuine. "I know."
Frisk tilted her head. "…You're weird."
"I know."
Now she looked annoyed and turned around, walking out of the backroom. You sniggered and returned to the call.
"She got annoyed?"
"She got annoyed."
Undyne cackled. "Go comfort her, punk. Girls love that. Try even giving her a romantic smooch, big guy!"
"Undyne!" You flushed, glaring at the wall. "It was just a small banter. She isn't that fragile."
"Just do it. Trust me."
You sighed and hung up on her, hearing her laughter as the call was cut.
You hated her so much right now…
You groaned as you left the backroom, noticing that you had five minutes till the end of your coffee break. Frisk was already cleaning after a lone customer that Grillby covered for you.
…The diner was empty now…
"Frisk?" You rubbed the back of your burning neck when Frisk looked up, her neutral expression turning annoyed. "Hey, it was a joke!"
Frisk huffed and placed down the cleaning rug and straightened up, dusting her apron. "What is it?"
"…Can you come here a second? I need to give you something."
Frisk blinked and shrugged, approaching you and then stopping just before you. "What is it?"
"Well…" You really hated Undyne now for the idea as you cupped Frisk's cheeks and lowered your head to press your lips to hers.
Frisk froze and then snorted, raising her hands to cover yours. She sighed into the kiss, withdrawing and looking amused.
"I still hate you."
You snorted, resting your forehead on hers as your felt calmer, chest lighter. "I know."
Frisk's grumble made you laugh.
Alright, so Undyne had some good ideas.

Steven Universe - The Good Lars reactions
OK, to start out with, let me just say that I don’t have high hopes for any episode centering around Lars.
What kind of weird pumpkin is that
oh, it’s pumpkin bread.
Yeah, Steven would like anything you gave him. You probably got his recommendation regarding selling the dog-nut and the nutdog too. >.<
“I speak Lars” pfff
Buck Dewey, my boy!
The Cool Kids are having a potluck! Sounds fun.
And his face just melts against the counter.
Yeah, Sadie’s right, this is what he’s been gunning for this whole series.
“Nobody knows me.” Can’t tell if he’s serious - the guy does have secrets, like his actual name being Laramie apparently? - or just overdramatic and broody
Ah, he’s embarrassed about knowing how to bake. Despite running a donut shop. OK, then.
Aw no he’s gonna try and aim for perfection and be upset when he fails to attain it.
You ARE trying too hard, Lars!
Sweet potato, huh? I don’t like ‘em personally, but it sounds like something other people would enjoy.
Come on and slam, and bake yourself a yam! Come on and slam, if you want a yam!
Man, we’ve only ever seen the inside of Lars’ house once! And it was in an episode that was pretty awful.
Is he looking out for his parents? He looks like he doesn’t want to encounter whoever he’s keeping an eye out for. Dunno why.
Ooh, that does look good! This should be a hit!
They ate it all...
Steven, that’s...not a thing you should bring up to prove yourself trustworthy to him. Or ever. Let’s just forget that episode ever happened, OK?
Nothing wrong with loving baking, Lars! The cool kids will understand perfectly fine.
What’s he trying to avoid saying? There’s something deeper here that he’s avoiding. He doesn’t want to be seen as loving stereotypically girly things? Why’s he so hung up on that?
(There’s a fan theory regarding Lars being trans and Laramie being his deadname, isn’t there? I know I’ve read about it before)
Nicely put, Steven!
...Nicely put, Steven.
Yeah, you go Lars! Get some of that character development you’ve been lacking.
Oh, the party is at Sour Cream’s house. I wonder if Onion is there, considering the events of the end of last episode.
Oh, it’s that sushi from Cooking With Lion!
Sour Cream bought soda, Jenny delivered pizza, Buck appears to have bought a pineapple and a dragonfruit. Can’t tell what the third assorted fruit is. It looks like a liechi but bigger. Or a dead porcupine.
Sadie is here!
She doesn’t feel like she belongs. And Lars is probably still trying to make the PERFECT ube roll.
Does Sour Cream carry glowsticks around in his pockets all the time? Probably.
Yeah, not having to do the dishes is worth a hurray, alright.
And Lars is still missing. He isn’t at home, he isn’t at the Big Donut, he isn’t on top of the Big Donut (Steven how did you even get up there without accessing the inside of the building? Did you just float up there? I guess that could work), and he isn’t at the boardwalk. He isn’t at Funland, but it looks like Smiley might’ve gotten Zoltron working again?
Steven can float up to the Big Donut’s roof if he wants. But he’s decided to float above even that! Aerial view, perfect.
Please don’t ever use your mind powers with regards to Lars ever again, Steven.
Yeah, a phone call is a much better option.
Answering machine...
Aaaand, yeah, he couldn’t do it. And he threw his good food away.
Sadie had a blast though! That’s good.
You bring up a lot of good points, Sadie.
Yeah, that does sound like a thing Barb would say. And then that would lead to a disaster like in Sadie’s song.
UM
UM THOSE ARE THE SAME SHADOWS FROM THE ENDING OF LAST EPISODE????
Um. WELL THEN.

Not an ordinary damsel || 0.1
Summary: Y/N Y/L/N is one of CCPD’s best detectives, and Barry Allen being the only one in the forensics department, causes them to interfere with each other more than they like. You see: Y/N and Barry doesn’t like each other so much. But when Y/N suspect Barry to be the Flash, she gets herself into a bit too deep trouble.
Pairing: Barry Allen x Sarcastic!Reader
Warning: Zoom’s involved, therefore we don’t know about Kid-Flash yet, and Jessie Quick isn’t a speedster yet either;) And to those who are sensitive to swearing 'n such, I'm sorry?
A/N: So because I have tons of requests, I will mash some of them up if I think they will work out nicely (and hopefully they will!). In this case, I hope it’s ok for you, galactichoran and lisagust14 <33
ϟϟϟϟϟ
“Allen, you need to run a test for me!” Y/N strode over to Barry’s desk and slipped the little plastic bag right in front of him to catch his attention – as if the yelling hadn’t done its work. “What for, detective Y/L/N?” Barry said through gritted teeth, the knuckles of his fists turning slightly white.
“Well, I would use my own, but my machine broke down last night,” she said with a fake pout. “I’ll see what I can-” “Good, I need it the second lunch is over. Thanks, Allen,” with that she left. And Barry’s annoyance came out with a deep sigh. Gee Y/N, thanks. It’s not like I have other things to be done as well, no no, I’ll clear my schedule…
Y/N sat by her desk, a half-eaten Belly burger by her side while she was working hard on the questions she would be asking the neighbor of the late Miss Graham. Out of nowhere, a paper attached to one of her pieces of evidence was dumped in front of her – almost into her fries.
“Here it is,” she looked up to see the irresistible stone-cold face of Barry Allen, that just made her vexing side itch for a sarcastic remark. “Oh thank you your gracious, for offering your precious time for my mortal, unimportant business. I will forever be thankful for your goodness,” Y/N was about to take the arts of hand-gestures to a whole other level but didn’t get the chance to. “I need to go, uhm... lunch meeting,” Barry said and jogged towards the elevator and out of her sight.
This irked Y/N’s interest. He always said something back at her. It could be anything from a bad comeback (good ones too, but Y/N wouldn’t admit that), to dull attempts at ignoring her: like pretending she hadn't said anything, answering her as if what she said didn’t really matter – stuff like that. But Barry never just went, and that with nothing but a lame excuse to leave. Y/N was going to get to the end of this. She was going to find out Barry’s little secret. She was a detective, after all, the ones that solved mysteries – now in her case: her colleague’s.
Her hands were hammering fast against the keyboard. She was writing a report based on the interview and piece of evidence she had gotten tested earlier. Her eager to get it done so she could continue with her to-do list and in the end: check the lab for any missing Barry Allen, was radiating. The witness could describe the suspect with following adjectives… She looked down at her notes again, praying she would get today’s duties done by midnight.
“Thanks, Fred!” Get back to the apt., look for clues, she added to the list in her notebook. Now that the searching-warrant was dealt with, Y/N was off to her colleague’s laboratory. Let's see how long that lunch meeting lasted... And as expected, Barry was not to be seen when Y/N opened the door.
Y/N hadn't slept for more than 4 hours that night. Though she wanted to blame it all on Barry Allen, she knew better. It wasn't his fault she hadn't gone to bed before 2 AM. In addition to that, it would be hard to explain how he would be guilty of her watching four episodes of Doctor Who, but he was the one who had occupied Y/N's thoughts before falling asleep. Maybe that's how he ended up in her dreams. But why he had worn nothing but an eye-patch and a pair of old and torn pants was still a mystery.
With three cups of coffee in the bin under her desk and a warm one in her hand, Y/N took notes in her little notebook on Bartholomew Henry Allen – family, appearance in media, everything she could get her hands on. Was this 100% legal? Maybe not. But Y/N didn't care about that at the moment, she had to know. "Y/L/N, how are we on the Graham-case?!" She quickly switched to her other desktop and flipped over to the page of her other notes. "Getting there, Singh!" This would be harder than expected. Y/N needed help. Hastily, Y/N hit his number, and it didn't take long before hi picked up. "Hey, Benji, have I ever told you how much I love you?" "Just stop the sugar coating, Y/N," "Oh my darling, best friend Benjamin, I need you to do me a favor, but I'm afraid you're going to like it..."
He didn't like it. Not at all. But by promising him three No-question-asked favors, he agreed to dig deeper into Barry's profile. Though she had covered the investing and digging, Y/N knew she would have to shadow him. Now how on earth would she be able to do that when there were tens of cops surrounding them both? You know, as well as doing her job.
Maybe he's a part-time stripper, Y/N thought. But does he have the body to? She looked over to where Barry stood with Joe West. Meh... a skinny pack may be hiding behind that sweater, but doesn't strippers need to have six- and eight packs? I wouldn't exactly have anything against skinny packs, I mean: no packs are neccesary, but... Ugh, Y/n you need more friends. And then she saw the same look on Allen's face – the one that had appeared yesterday as well, and then he left.
Tue, 17.01.17 – 12:04 Wed, 18.01.17 – 14:16 Finding patterns weren't hard for Y/N Y/L/N, she kind of liked it, made inner peace. Though finding a pattern by two days? Impossible. You know what they say: once is accidence, twice is coincidence, third times's a pattern. She would have to put her new, more interesting case on ice, let Benji do his magic, and wait. meanwhile, doing her job seemed like a good idea, so she did just that.
It had been weeks, and what happened to miss Graham was in the open, and the criminal was currently in trial. The two lines of dates she had in her notebook were extended to a whole page. It was frustrating and mocking Y/N every day as the list grew longer. There was absolutely no pattern. Whatever her colleague dealt with, it happened frequent, on random times during the day – sometimes he left twice a day, other times he either didn't show, left extremely early or came to the office criminally late. Benji had an update, though, but he said the info "had to be told face to face" because it was "too dangerous over the line, someone could be wiretapping". Y/N loved him to death, but her friend wasn't exactly the bold, and brave type of guy.
"Captain, I came to ask for Allen, I need him," "Allen?" Singh couldn't believe what he heard, had his ears betrayed him? Y/N Y/L/N needed Barry Allen, and came personally to ask for him? "Yes, a friend of mine needs me in Starling to help with a simple case they can't crack which includes a forensic expert," Singh had to think. Normally he would have had to command her to take him with (if that was needed of course). So if she asked for him, this would have to be important. "You get two days, Y/L/N, you and Allen leave tomorrow," "Aye aye," Y/N left his office with a smile on her face. Good luck Barry.
She walked up the stairs to the lab, happy like a kid on Christmas morning. It wasn't like Y/N loved to make lives more difficult for people, but this mystery had been bugging her for over two weeks, and she was tired of the patience-demanding work. The door was right in front of her, and Y/n had to take a minute to calm herself down, she couldn't just burst in and look like a grinch, she had to act normal. Feeling ready, Y/N opened the door and put her head just enough in to catch barry's attention. "Pack your bags, Bartholomew, we're going on an adventure!"
Barry was shocked. Shocked, nervous and worried. Worried about multiple things, about Zoom, about flash stuff in general, how was he supposed to survive two days with Y/N Y/L/N – the detective of Central City, and not get caught red-handed? But most of all: Barry was nervous of how she had managed to know his whole first name. He knew had to talk to the team before dawn. Y/N watched Barry leave ten minutes later. He was in a hurry, probably has to tell whomever he's seeing about the next couple of days.
At least I can cross out the option of him going to how-to-be-punctual classes... Y/n thought while she stood at the train station, waiting for Barry to arrive. I knew I should have given him an earlier- "Hey, sorry I'm late!" As if Barry had read her mind, and possessed the ability to teleport, he now stood in front of her out of breath. "That's ok, now when we go back I will need your help with the chapel I'm planning on building," when he just looked weird at her, Y/N continued: "You know, since the power of the Spaghetti monster made us just not miss our train that is leaving in five minutes," with an eye roll from Barry, the overdramatic and the scientist started their trip to Starling City.
They had been sitting in silence for twenty minutes, the first five being used for som small talk. Barry was sitting opposite to Y/N, a computer in his lap. If it hadn't been so silent in their railway carriage, Y/N may have had missed the sound of Barry's phone vibrating in his back pocket, but it wasn't. And even if Barry calmed himself down by thinking she couldn't have heard it based on her ears plugged with music, the headphones were just for show.
"Uhm, I have to go to the toilet, do you need anything?" "Nothing from the boys' restroom, thanks. But if you're going to the girls' I would love a latté," Y/N smiled innocently. "I meant that I will probably walk pass the café," "Coffee would be nice, Allen," and with that Barry left. Y/N on the other hand, stuck out her notebook to write down the time. It had just been half an hour, and he had given her more than ever, this would be it. She would get her answer, and that within two days.
Y/N hadn't been able to expose him. There had been a minimal of suspicious happenings after Barry's little 'bathroom-break'.
“Hey, sorry it took so long, there was a long que," Barry came back to out cart with nothing else but a sad smile and empty hands. "And you thought I might be in danger, so you skipped the café to save me?" Y/n refered to the non-existant coffee in his hands, but immediately smiled at him reassuringly when she saw... was it worry? In his eyes. "I'm-" "Not in need to be sorry at all, I brought my own," she showed him, and saw Barry's tense body relax as he sat down in his seat.
So she had decided to go a bit more easy on him those days – she had pretty much dragged him with her, and in the end: Y/N found out he wasn't that bad. he was quite nice when not irritated, a bit adorable as well – though that's not something she would ever admit to a living soul.
When it came to the 'precious', confidential info Benji had, it wasn't anything special.
“I really don't get why you wanted me to look into this Bartholomew, Y/N," he had started, which made Y/N huff in irritation. And people think I'm the dramatic one... "Benji..." "Well, his mother was murdered when he was ten, and the police blamed his father-" "It wasn't him?" "Don't interrupt me, Y/N, please! I was coming to that part!" After a bit of whining, Banjamin had continued. He had been right, it wasn't much info on Barry Allen, the only interesting was his denial of his father murdering his mom – which wasn't very unusual for 10 years olds.
So looking back, she could pretty much have looked at her two days in Starling as a little weekend get-away in the middle of the week – just much less stress-relieving.
Out of basil, Y/N walked out of Ian's Supermarket. Craving some pasta and pesto, she had to do a detour after work and was now heading home, ready to prepare her dinner. Though she was splendid at her work, Y/N wasn't the best observer when tired, which might have explained how she hadn't noticed the gang of men that had surrounded her.
"Hey dollface, how you doin'?" Her attention was taken, and she finally analyzed her surroundings. There was five of them. Five huge, drunk men against her, a detective with her hands full of grocery bags and nothing to defend herself. "You wanna come home with us, sweet pea?" They were closing up on her, and Y/N was starting to panic. "We're gonna treat ya real nice," Y/N cringed at the third one's missing tooth. "As long as you don't need daddy to punish you," she was seconds before losing her cool, calm and collected façade, but in a blink, she was five blocks away, in front of her house with a familiar man in red spandex.
"Are you alright?" A vibrating voice made it impossible for Y/N to get any picture in her head of whom the man behind the mask could be. "Uhm... I thought you just did the huge stuff," was the first thing that popped up in Y/N head, which happened to be the lamest thing to say to a superhero of all the things it could have been. No no, save the wittiness and such to non-metas, Y/N, nice work. "You don't think a possible rape is worth stopping?" When Y/N didn't have anything to say back – which rarely happened, Flash just smirked at her and sped off.  "Wow..."

A/N: A positive side with this little mash-up: I got a bit carried away and made the imagine very long, which equals two parts (I think/plan/hope)!
