I just listened to the latest episode of and that's what you really missed on Glee.
Jenna said there may have been a hick-up. We may have thought there wasn't gonna be time, but we made it.
Darren: I didn't want to. But now that we're sitting here I admit that this is a re-do. This was supposed to happen last week and it just slipped my mind. I feel so bad. It was the last week of my run of Little Shop of Horrors. And there was this deluge of people reaching out. Family and friends coming from all over the place. I spent my entire day doing like schedule tetris, ticket tetris. I'm sitting all day doing this and there was that one Wednesday afternoon that seemed to like subside and I look on my calendar and I'm like 'I don't know how but there is nothing on my calendar here' and it felt really strange. I was watching Curb You Enthusiam (with Mia) and I felt weird because 'I'm supposed to be doing something. Something isn't right with it.'
Darren: The summer before senior year (college) I decided to visit friends in Los Angeles. Through a series of circumstances I met some agency people, casting director people that sent me on an audition for that would be the pilot of Glee.
After senior year Darren moved to Los Angeles and booked a TV show named Eastwick.
Later Darren put a video for something like an open call for Glee on My Space.
Darren used to go by his full name „Darren Everett Criss“. But in Starkid he was just „Darren Criss“ and he kept it that way because of the popularity of Starkid. (that was new for me)
Darren on the auditon for Blaine: I'm blindly aware of the importance of this audition. The idea of a new character being Chris' love interest was being picked up. I'm the kind of guy – like any audition I get I stalk every person involved. I learn everything about the casting director, everything about the show, trying to learn everything I need to know to maximize my chance of being involved in it. The breakdown of the person was Tom Ford. I got a haircut. I wore a prep school outfit for the audition.
Darren: I booked this huge thing. I didn't even watched the show a lot, but my then girlfriend now wife loved the show and watched it.
Darren: They flew me first class to New York to record this record (Teenage Dream). And I got to see the girl I was dating who lived in New York. There wasn't a guide track. So I kind of decided what to do, how I wanted to do it. I made suggestions. There were a lot of choices in it that were very deliberate from me.
Darren: I even didn't like the recording that I had and ended up recording at home with a buddy a redo of the vocals for one of the songs.
What I got from the first part: Darren had a totally different experience than Kevin and Jenna. Different audition process, different recording experience for most of the Warbler songs.

Omg Glee - an extra leaking plot details on twitter and one of the showrunners blacklisting her from Hollywood, the SHIP WARS, Dianna Agron wearing a “likes girls” t-shirt onstage at the concert and then apologising, Darren Criss and Chris colfer having to put out statements after filming photos of Kurt and Blaine’s break up leaked and people lost their minds. And of course a LOT of dark stuff involving the cast members. It was a wild fandom.
Oh man, you're right, Glee had a lot of drama... I (V) don't think that talking about what happened with P*ck's actor is the purview of our show, really, because it's so fucking dark, and I'm also not sure that I want to get into the territory of what happened to Naya or Cory because they're so sad, but those two are definitely events for the spreadsheet that we may decide to cover in the future if we can address them purely from an angle of looking at fan responses and fans' grief.
The Darren/Chris statements are a really good suggestion, and so is the Dianna t-shirt -- I had totally forgotten about that one! I know we've got some Glee on the calendar for 2024 already, but I'm not sure whether we've got the free space to squeeze it into the remainder of 2023. We may do a swap at some point, though, just to spice things up in the research department, so keep checking back!

20 Questions With Darren Criss: How Acting Has Helped Him Make New Music
While Darren Criss has graced our TV screens with a range of characters, from high schooler Blaine Anderson on Glee to serial killer Andrew Cunanan on The Assassination of Gianni Versace, he was last spotted just being himself, on our For You Page on TikTok. “I’m walking to rehearsal with a guitar on my back with a Trader Joe’s bag ... I did not bring an umbrella because I forgot that it was raining. I’m rocking that NYC musician life,” the Glee alum explained in the hilarious clip posted three days ago.
While Criss’ acting work has earned him acclaim and stardom, he leaned into making music during the pandemic. On Aug. 20, he dropped a new EP, Masquerade, featuring five new tracks that Criss says were inspired by the different characters Criss has embraced throughout his career. After Criss wrote songs for his musical comedy web series Royalties and Apple TV+’s animated sitcom Central Park before the pandemic struck the United States, he then used those experiences as a precursor to his new EP. As Criss continues to promote his new music, he answered 20 of Billboard's questions – giving us a peek into how his new EP came together, and how growing up in San Fransisco shaped him as an actor, singer and all-around artist.
1. What inspired your latest project, Masquerade?
Although I would have preferred that it come at a far less grim cost, I finally had the time. Before the pandemic, I had written 10 new songs for my show Royalties -- along with an original song for Disney and another for Apple’s Central Park. These were all assignments in which I was writing for a certain scenario and character. Go figure. It was the most music I had ever written in a calendar year. This really emboldened me to rethink how I made my own music— to start putting a focus on “character creation” in my songs, rather than personal reflection. The latter was not proving to be as productive. The alchemy of having this time and having set a new intention with my own songwriting and producing made me put on a few of my favorite masques and throw myself a Masquerade.
2. How do you think your background as an actor complements your music?
They are one and the same to me. I treat acting roles like musical pieces— dialogue is like scoring a melody; there’s pace, dynamics, cadence, tone. Physical characterization is like producing -- zeroing in on the bass line, deciding on the kick pattern. Vocal characterization is like choosing the right sonic experience, choosing the most effective snare sound, and mixing the high end or low end. It goes without saying that it works in the complete opposite direction. Making each song is taking on a different role literally and employing the use of different masques to maximize the effectiveness of the particular story being told.
3. On Instagram you wrote that “Masquerade is a small collection of the variety of musical masques that have always inspired me.” Which track do you identify with most in your real life?
Everybody absorbs songs differently. Some key into the lyrics, some into the melody, some the production, some into vocal performance. When I listen to songs, I consider all of their value on totally different scales. So it’s hard to say if there’s any track I “identify” with more than any others, since I -- by nature -- identify with all of them. I think I just identify with certain aspects more than others. If it helps for a more interesting answer, I will say I enjoy the slightly more classical, playful -- dare I say -- more Broadway-leaning wordplay of “Walk of Shame,” but that’s just talking about lyricism. I enjoy the attitude of “F*kn Around,” the batsh--t musicality of “I Can’t Dance,” the relentless grooves of “Let’s” and “For A Night Like This.” All have different ingredients I really enjoy having an excuse to dive into.
4. What’s the first piece of music that you bought for yourself, and what was the medium?
Beatles audio cassettes: “Help” and “Hard Day’s Night.” I just listened on repeat on a tape-playing Walkman until my brother and I got a stereo for our room with a CD player in it, which was when I just bought the same two albums again, but this time as compact discs.
5. What was the first concert you saw? It’s hard to say, because my parents took us to a lot of classical concerts when we were small. But I guess this question usually refers to what was the first concert you went to on your own volition, and that my friend, was definitely Warped Tour ’01. My brother and I went on our own— two teenagers going to their first music festival, in the golden age of that particular genre and culture. It was f--king incredible.
6. What did your parents do for a living when you were a kid?
My dad was in private banking and advised really, really wealthy people on how to handle their money. My mom was, by choice, a stay-at-home mom, but in reality, she was my dad’s consigliere. They discussed absolutely everything together. They were a real team, and I saw that every single day in the house. They both had a background in finance (That’s how they met in the first place.) and were incredibly skilled at all the hardcore adulting things that I absolutely suck at. They were total finance wizards together. So of course, instead of becoming an accountant, I picked up playing the guitar and ran as far I could with it. Luckily, they were all about it.
7. What was your favorite homecooked meal growing up?
My dad was an incredible chef. For special occasions, I’d request his crab cakes. They were unreal. I’ve never had a crab cake anywhere in the world that was good as my dad’s.
8. Who made you realize you could be an artist full-time?
I don’t know if I’ve actually realized that yet.
9. What’s at the top of your professional bucket list?
The specifics change every day, but the core idea at the top is to continue being consistently inconsistent with my choices, and to keep getting audiences to constantly reconsider their consideration of me. But I mean, sure, what performer doesn’t want to play Coachella? What songwriter doesn’t want to have Adele sing one of their songs? What actor doesn’t want to be in a Wes Anderson film?
10. How did your hometown/city shape who you are?
San Francisco. I mean, come on. I was really lucky. The older I get, the more grateful I am for just being born and raised there. It’s an incredibly diverse, culturally rich, colorful, inclusive, vibrant city. By the time I was born, it had served as a beacon for millions of creative, out-of-the-box thinkers to gather and thrive. I grew up around that. The combination of that with having parents, who were unbelievably supportive of the arts themselves, laid an incredibly fortunate foundation to consider the life of an artist as a legitimately viable option. It’s a foundation that I am supremely aware is not the case for millions of young artists around the world. I was absurdly lucky.
11. What’s the last song you listened to?
I mean probably one of mine, but not by choice. I know, lame. But I’m promoting a new EP, what’d you expect? But if you wanna know what I’ve been listening to, as far as new s--t is concerned: a lot of Lizzy McAlpine, Remi Wolf, and Charlie Burg.
12. If you could see any artist in concert, dead or alive, who would it be?
The Beatles is an obvious "yeah, duh." Sammy Davis, Mel Tormé, or of course, Nat King Cole. I would’ve loved to see Howard Ashman give a lecture on his creative process and his body of work.
13. What’s the wildest thing you’ve seen happen in the crowd of one of your sets?
I feel like just having a crowd at all, at any one of my sets, is pretty wild enough.
14. What’s your karaoke go-to?
The real answer to this I’ll write into a book one day, because I have a lot to say about karaoke etiquette. I have two options here: I can either name a song that I like to sing for me, for fun, or I can name a song that really gets the group going. The answer depends on what kind of karaoke night we’re dealing with here. So I will say, after I’ve selected a ton of songs that services a decent enough party vibe for everyone else, then I would do one for me, and that would be the Beatles’ “Oh! Darling.”
15. What’s one thing your most devoted fans don’t know about you?
What I have up my sleeve.
16. What TV show did you binge-watch over the past year?
Dave is a stroke of genius. There are episodes that I believe are bona fide masterpieces. Also, My Brilliant Friend is a masterclass in cinematic television.
17. What movie, or song, always makes you cry?
It’s A Wonderful Life.
18. What’s one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
Get used to sharing everything about yourself and your life now, or more astutely, to the idea that you don’t necessarily get to control how your life is shared. I know it’s not really your thing, but you’re gonna have to get used to it, so start building up those calluses now. And don’t worry, all the stuff you love now will be cool again in your mid-thirties, so keep some of those clothes because you’ll be a full-blown fashion icon if you just keep wearing exactly what you’re wearing. Oh nd also, put money into Apple and Facebook.
19. What new hobby did you take on in the last year?
I’ve always been a linguaphile. My idea of leisure time is getting to study or review other languages. This past year, I took the time to finally dive into learning how to read, write, and speak Japanese. Other than making music, it was one of the biggest components of my 2020-2021.
20. What do you hope to accomplish or experience by the end of 2021?
I hope I get to play live shows again.

Justin Bieber: How he got to the top and his present influence!
Justin Bieber: How he got to the top and his present influence!
Justin Bieber was discovered on YouTube. That’s no secret.
YouTube has always been filled with a lot of talent. It’s a playground where children, teenagers, and adults are featured showing their talents in hopes of becoming discovered by talent managers. And there are a handful of celebrities that have been discovered online including Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes (Vine), Kate Upton, Darren Criss, Colbie Callait (Myspace), Bo Burham and Tori Kelly.
Usher discovered Justin Bieber after he started posting videos on YouTube at just 12-years-old. And all the homemade videos showed Justin’s skills.

https://positivecelebrity.news/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Cry-me-a-River-Justin-Timberlake-cover-Justin-singing-Justin-Bieber.mp4
There are people in the world who like to say “it was just given to him,” but those people are wrong. Bieber had to work hard to make it in the industry. And if you took a moment to think about what it takes to actually survive, you would likely become tired just thinking about all the steps, all the practice, all the classes, all the learning and all the performances one has to take upon themselves to rise to Justin Bieber’s level.
When Justin Bieber was 15-years-old he opened up about the process.
“It had a hundred views, then a thousand views, then ten thousand views, so I just kept posting more videos and more videos,” Justin, told ABC. “Eventually, I got found by my manager who flew me to Atlanta to meet Usher.”

Justin was so good Usher had to fight to keep him because he was wanted by Justin Timberlake. And the bidding war for his beautiful voice began. Usher ended up winning and Beibs was signed to Def Jam Recordings.
Justin was raised by his mother Pattie Mallette in Ontario, Canada. His mother was modest, single and strong. She was always encouraging Justin to exercise his personality. Whether it was banging on pots and pans or singing along to Boyz II Men. He was destined for this journey.
Justin Bieber and Usher
But this journey was never about “becoming famous and living in a big mansion.” Yea, those are the perks. But Justin wanted to change the world for the better. And as many have seen, he’s worked hard to make sure his family, friends, and fans know how thankful he is that they stood by his side encouraging him to never give up on goals.
It was a dream when he was young.
“It still feels like a dream, like right now it feels like I’m in a dream. I’m starting to realize this is crazy. I used to listen to the radio and hear other people, and now I listen to it and hear myself. It’s crazy.”
And it’s still a dream now, those feelings never fade. Anytime a celebrity releases new music, the feeling of hearing yourself on the radio is overwhelming with the appreciation of family, friends, fans and hard work.
Pattie Mallette always knew that Justin was talented. And she wanted to make sure he knew he could achieve anything he wanted in life.
“I’ve always known he was talented. I just didn’t know what he would do with it. He had a few drum lessons but he didn’t have any guitar lessons, piano lessons or singing lessons. And, you know, we just sort of hung out and played music around the house.”
She even said there were times when he was “tired.”
“I just take it one day at a time,” Mallette said. “And if he’s over-tired, and I feel like there is too much pressure on him, we scale back and we cancel some things. We just take it one day at a time and try to get some proper rest and try to get used to staying in different hotel rooms.”
Whether you like Justin Bieber or not, ask yourself does that sound easy to you? Could you do it?
Justin Bieber was discovered on YouTube
Usher knew that time for rest was rare. There was little time for rest and a lot of time to keep Justin working hard.
“It’s really up to him. How badly do you want it. The moment that I want it more than you do, it’s over. So my advice is to enjoy it while you got it. Make the best of it and be fruitful. You have to be a sponge, wherever you are, soak up everything and reproduce something incredible.”
Justin wanted more than anything to reach his biggest dreams. He never wanted to give up and he continued to work hard in and out of the studio. It felt good and it was fun for him.
“It all feels good. I’ve practiced my signature since I was like 6 years old.”
Imagine that, practicing your signature because you knew in your heart that there was more for you, that God had a plan.
As with anyone chasing their dreams, there’s always a backup plan. Justin didn’t know what was going to happen in his future. In fact, he always thought he would be a hockey player.
“I thought I was going to be a hockey player, so I used to do, ‘Justin Bieber, No. 6.’ I dropped the six. I put a heart a lot of times,” He revealed, “for the girls.”
Cute, huh?
Justin Bieber was discovered on YouTube, yes.. But he has proven himself from day 1. He’s not a lazy artist, there’s no doubt.
Justin friggin’ Bieber everybody, this was his journey, a journey filled with constant work and little time for rest. Nearly any celebrity can tell you “it’s a lot of work,” and they aren’t lying.
Justin eventually dropped his début album “My World,” which hit stores and sold quickly. Then he had a calendar packed with performances, interviews, meet and greets and (you guessed it) back in the studio for more music.
Bieber Fever never died nor did all of his real Beliebers who stood by his side from the time he was 15-years-old. We all grew, we all got older and we all learned from the Biebs.
https://positivecelebrity.news/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/The-Star-of-Stratford-Canada-Justin-Bieber-before-he-was-famous.mp4
In the present, Justin has continued to work hard, perform and center God in his world. After all, God gave him a gift he could never take for granted. He’s given back to the world, he takes pictures with fans on days off, he works hard on new music, videos and being himself.
So, if you think that Justin was “chosen,” and he didn’t have to work hard, you’re wrong. He worked hard from the time he could show creativity. Nobody knew that banging on pots and pans would lead him to become this generation’s “prince of pop.”
But what we do know, he’s a fantastic influence, he has a huge heart and he never stopped, he didn’t stop for one moment, he never took time for himself to celebrate all the money he has, he doesn’t show off, he gives, he revisits the stairs where he used to play for change and blesses those young kids doing it now, just like he did at one time.
Justin Bieber earned his name and his fame. While it’s not always greener on the other side, he still manages to find happiness in things we all do, play hockey, soccer and go to church. It’s pretty safe to say, he’s a truly talented and loving man.
Haters will hate but real family, friends, and fans will always stand by your side. And that’s basically all he pays attention to these days.
J-dawg, great job on keeping up the hard work, slowing down when you by including your hobbies. Beyond that thank you for still taking pictures with your Beliebers during down times. They know you aren’t paid and that it’s “your off-time.” And you still take that out of your day. Time is irreplaceable and you always show the love. You’re an amazing dude, with talent and you’re Christlike. That’s exactly what this world needs.

♤ && STORY OF MY LIFE:
Everyone in Smyrna has something to say about Blaine Anderson. His school teachers would say that he was an absolute delight to have in class. His friends say he’s the one that you call when you have a flat tire at one in the morning. His siblings might say that he’s a bit of a pest, but all he’s looking for is someone to talk to. Blaine hates to be alone, always has some fresh new idea somewhere in his head. He’s genuinely excited about everything in life. He whistles as he does his laundry, chatters away with the grocery clerk even as there’s a line ten deep behind him, and frequently stops to catch up on gossip with the little old ladies playing bridge in front of city hall. He’s really good at bridge.
So, as you can expect, Blaine was an interesting kid. But it netted him a lot of friends. It takes him absolutely forever to go anywhere in town, because he swears that he knows every one of its residents. He was hyper-involved in high school, joining any club that caught his interest and starting several by his outstanding ability to pester (charm, if you ask him) the administration and faculty.
His decision to go out of state for college weighed heavy. He had never been away from his family for more than four nights of summer camp. No one he had ever met had decided to go to the University of Georgia. And while he’d spent much of his high school experience struggling with being… gay? and in the closet, senior year had been a rousing success in being accepted and proud of who he was.
But he went. He had originally picked UGA to study vocal performance, but switched to education at the start of his sophomore year. He found a true passion for it, and is never more excited than when he gets to show someone a new school or have someone talk to him that is as passionate about something that he is.
College showed Blaine more than a new academic passion. After getting out of an environment where he placed such high expectations of himself, he was finally able to drop his shoulders and relax a little bit. He fell into a friend group that was less “we have six competitions in the next four weekends” and more “let’s go to so-and-so’s apartment and drink and smoke up and play stupid card games.” The scene wasn’t so much a part of his identity as it became for a few of his friends, but people were surprised when he came back for summer break and didn’t immediately fill his calendar with all sorts of social engagements.
Now, if you can keep a secret, Blaine has been telling people that he came back to Smyrna for a gap year before he goes onto do his M.Ed. But the truth is that he applied to five different graduate programs and hasn’t heard back from any of them. It was a competitive year, he picked schools that were a little bit beyond his bracket, and he wound up back at home. In a bit of insult-to-injury, he’s also living in his childhood bedroom. Substitute teaching pays darn near close to minimum wage, and if he wants to pick up enough work experience to stand out in the next round of applications, he needs to have full availability to come in whenever he’s needed.
Okay, okay, you look like a trustworthy character, and you did ask, after all. So, Blaine really hasn’t met the right person yet. This is probably the one thing that he’s genuinely embarrassed about in this world. He never pictured himself being the kind of person that this would actually matter to. But every time he gets in a situation where it might be the night he loses his virginity, he chickens out at the last second. He doesn’t know what it’s about, and it’s not like he ever had any expectations that it would be special. But it’s something none but his very best friends know about.
