god FINALLY getting around to this one. im ready to be normal again i think hes. god where do i start with this loser

hes annoying on purpose and i think it stems from the fact hes actually pretty lonely? he doesnt acknowledge this obviously but id say theres never really an effort from any party to converse w/ him cause he'll get bored halfway through and leave. so he ends up taking up a snappy persona that doesnt really let him get in-depth with any discussions so he can just fuck off whenever he likes without it being weird. he ignores the fact this is probably pretty sad from an external perspective i think hes also constantly on-edge and thats a big part of it. hes wound up almost as much as crowbar, always completely ready to go. never settles down in one place for more than a couple minutes. this combined with him power often ends up with him being wildly jittery, twitching at the slightest sound. he tries to hide this under a nonchalant persona and it works. sometimes definitely the type of person to brush off injuries like theyre nothing. this happens with all of the felt due to their reliance on stitch's effigies, but especially him. hes really stubborn and refuses to back down from just about anything unless hes dragged away kicking and screaming, n this ends up causing more trouble than its worth and a lot of injuries worsened by extended strain hes one hell of an adrenaline junkie, with a tendency to get into arguments with people who could snap him like a twig just for the rush. gets up to dangerous shit for the hell of it and ends up having to be bailed out of it more often than not. hes most at home (and surprisingly the calmest) in the midst of a fight where its easy to narrow in on a target and keep engaged til someone, preferably the opponent, goes down. he could never be a bystander due to a tendency to join any fight he sees /hj hes either the cisest trans guy or the transest cis guy in the world no inbetween. i hope all of that made sense i have radiation poisoning now

A box.

A box with a ring, one that glimmered and glittered in sunlight, one coated with the sugary, honeydew warmth of his love. Sure, it was cheap and gaudy, but he bought it. He bought it for her, pouring his heart into a purchase he knew she would cherish no matter the look of it. A gift she would wear every day, 24/7, until the day she died. 

A gift he never got to give.

Genevieve slumped onto their- her- bed, one hand over the leather box and the other twirling the ring between nimble fingers. She studied it intensely, thinking and thinking and thinking.

When did he plan on doing it? Kneeling down in front of her, widening the box open and showing it off until she instantly gushed and burst into flowing tears, hollering yes, yes, yes! 

Obviously it was going to happen. Maybe it was soon, maybe it was a long way away. It didn’t really matter anymore, though, considering a missing man couldn’t propose. 

Not a dead man.

What would it have felt like to plan a wedding, she wondered. To buy a dress Nevan couldn’t see until the long awaited date, to buy and shop for decorations, shoes, get all done up and have her very own bachelorette party. 

What would it have felt like to walk down the aisle? Arms intertwined with Nevan’s father, the seats reserved for her own parents barren and devoid of them, their invitations never sent. 

How would it have felt to read her vows? To recite the ones she’d written for him all the way back in high school, just knowing such a day would eventually come? To see him grin, toothy and wide as he giggled, holding back his silly teases as tears pricked his deep, brown eyes?

She chuckled, sorrowful and strained. He’d hidden it in such an obvious place, too. Right behind her shoe rack. Hers! How she’d never found it before then was beyond her, and why he’d ever thought to put it there was as well. Maybe it was because he just knew she rarely wore more than one pair of sneakers, and would never notice it. 

Nevan just knew her.

He knew that as a kid she doodled little monsters in the margins of her papers when bored, he knew she only ever ate anchovies and bacon on her pizza, and he knew she still slept with a night light because she was still afraid of the dark. Among so much more, he knew her.

And he knew that she would say yes.

Would have said yes.

Genevieve gently slipped the jewelry over her ring finger, and it gleamed with little reflections of rainbows as it moved. Just right.

Just right.

But it couldn’t be just right, because he hadn’t given it to her. Because he wasn’t even there to laugh about how she’d found it and just propose anyways. He wasn’t there.

She stared at it, just before slipping it off once again. She wiped her eyes, rubbing the tears out of them before she would break. She could cry later. Amara needed her then. Placing the ring back to its intended box she smiled, lightly, content with herself.

She would wait. She would put it back where she discovered it, and when he came back he would propose and everything would be just as perfect as when he left. She could wait. She would wait, as long as she needed to till she found him. And then she would never let go of that ring unless it was pried from her cold, dead hands. Everything would be just fine. She could feel it.

Nevan was out there, and Genevieve would find him. 

No matter…

No matter who he was when she did.

Filoni I love the messy prickly falling out between Ahsoka and Sabine but I would really like... ONE paragraph of exposition about why Sabine went to Ahsoka and asked to be trained, or however that happened.

I mean I know I can inference that she was desperate to feel closer to Kanan and Ezra and mourning them and trying to be the hero Lothal needed and worked up in her feelings about, "If Ezra's not here to be Lothal's Jedi I have to be." but the general audience might need some help.

OH GOSH THAT LITTLE SWALLOW AS SHE TAKES HER SABER AGAIN AND LOOKS AT IT.

So I'm confused is it that the New Republic was lazy and/or too trusting/too willing to give ex-Imperials another chance just to keep some kind of order and peace and infrastructure in place or are they just that bad at uncovering spies?

Because there is a good point that not everyone who worked for the machine of the Empire has to be rooted out and displaced from their jobs and livelihoods, that just builds resentment, makes it easier for the Imperial Remnant to gain support.

At the same time though I feel like this is tying into the general New Canon "The New Republic is incompetent." trend that I'm not a fan of.

I am very nicely happy with how things are unfolding, aside from a few nitpicks here and there about the worldbuilding and backstory that's been kept from us. (Ahsoka and Sabine's whole... everything.)

But it does not look like Sabine is Force Sensitive, which I'm glad about. I've seen a couple people salty about her being a Jedi and honestly between the two options of "Make her Sensitive and retcon large parts of Rebels" or "It's a new era, there are No More Rules, we can't be picky about who we take on as Jedi so sure let's have a non-Sensitive, Ahsoka maybe thought it was safer that way anyway", I know which one I'm picking.

The whole plot with the celestial navigation is fascinating. I need to study screencaps of the starmap and the end credits for clues because WOAH BOY DID I NOT EXPECT EXPANDING BEYOND THE GFFA.

oh man this might be my favorite ask i've ever received, thank you so much! it makes me a little sad to think about how little recognition tb8 got, but at the same time, it's nice to be in a fandom of five people who all know each other. like a book club! :) these are silly and not based in canon, and i change my mind on them all the time.

@ellington-f3int and i were talking about this--i headcanon that flora and rachel state become friends post-canon.

in my mind rachel was always the black sheep of her family, and her dressing up goth and writing terrible edgy poetry was her way of rebelling against her parents' strict conservative upbringing.

flora eventually grows a little resentful of tert/the talkshows both because of how strict they are, and because there’s a part of her that’s still loyal to her friends and isn’t fond of the satanism accusations.

while tert and mr. and mrs. state are on tv to spread an agenda and become famous, flora and rachel feel more distanced from the situation than ever. they feel weird about having this tragedy turned into a Media Sensation, and that they're participating in it. though they're initially wary of each other, they end up getting close since they’re the only ones who can understand each other.

their kinship develops into a real friendship, where flora is the #1 fan of rachel’s emo poetry and rachel will happily sit through as many guiness world record facts as flora has to offer

rachel still hates the rest of the eight, though

so you know how tert talks about a possibility of natasha being based on a counselor in training flan knew? i have so many thoughts about that. i think she was maybe a year or two older than flan, and they met on the summer between middle and high school. anyway, flan and natasha v. snuck out in the middle of the night to a corner store, and flan helped natasha v. dye her hair in the camp bathroom. it was stained with black hair dye forever (kind of paralleling natasha helping flan wash off adam’s blood) and it was such a keystone experience for flan that she always thought of natasha with black hair.

i think most of them met at different points in their lives, but were all close friends by sophomore year. before their group formed, they were all pretentious but in different ways.

a specific example i have in mind is of v____, lily, and douglas all being friends since fifth grade. they met in the orchestra classroom and bonded over a love of classical music. v____ dropped viola in middle school because of having too little time to practice, but still is a classical music buff (though not to the extent of lily and douglas). those three were the most pretentious of anyone in late elementary/early middle lmao.

kate was a big part of bringing them together, because of her knack for knowing Literally Everyone. flan and kate went to the same elementary school for years but didn’t get to know each other well until middle school, when they were in the same play together. they gossiped backstage and realized they had a lot in common.

flan is absolutely a child of the dare program. of course she thought it was pointless, but from the way she’s horrified at her friends smoking in the end (while not caring about absinthe) shows that something must have stuck lol.

jennifer rose milton always has the best stationery. a whole box of glitter pens in every color, and those fancy mechanical pencils. she’s also really good at drawing and quite passionate about it. she likes doing landscapes and drawing what she sees in front of her when she has a moment to just sit. her school papers are covered in little doodles.

natasha and v____ both have huge sweet tooths and love going out for desserts together. :)

lily has insomnia and usually takes chamomile tea before bed. she’s actually become really good at making tea and has a bunch of different varieties

natasha is a big fan of hole (the band). she plays the live through this album in the car with flan often

flan and natasha have slightly different handwriting and if you look closely you can tell which one of them wrote something. but the differences are subtle--both write in messy, jagged print

flan and natasha sometimes go to the library and specifically look at the terrible ya/poetry section and spend hours reading each other the worst lines they can find and laughing til they can't breathe

gabriel is really good at first aid and healing most injuries. also if one of his friends gets sick, he’s always the first to visit them and makes sure they have what they need (homework, medicine, FOOD <3 <3 <3)

douglas gets along really well with his sister and they managed to stay in touch despite her being in college (until senior year, where he talked to her less and less. rip)

kate was always a leader, even when she was little. she was always the person who volunteered to pass out the papers in elementary school. once when she was in second grade she got into a pretty nasty fight over who would be the line leader

before she got into the guinness world records, flora used to be really into mythology

in elementary, flan used to get in trouble during group reading time because she would always read way faster than her classmates and be done while everyone else was still on page 4. this is when she started to hate school

in elementary school, jennifer rose milton was the girl who’d braid your hair during storytime. :)

Hello DST........

I used to play this game a lot and I recently just got back into it. I LOVE Wes SO MUCH?!!??! SILLY LITTLE GUY?? I remember being so so so obsessed with his hair and now I finally got around to drawing it.

I really gotta practice, but these are just some doodles of the skrunkle for now. I plan on drawing some Wesson eventually once I get a little more comfortable drawing fandom characters since this is my first time drawing something that isn’t an OC.
