feel the same - s.r. x bau!reader
Tumblr media
spencer misunderstands a conversation he overhears between reader and derek. tags/cws: misunderstandings, confessions of feelings, use of 'y/n', gn!reader, fluff, mild angst, derek morgan has big brother energy wc: 1708 (much longer than I thought lmao) a/n: I'm truly obsessed with season 1 spencer as of late so I HAD to write a fic with him in mind. <3
also posted on ao3
“You know Pretty Boy likes you, don’t you?”
Spencer had been trying to get some sleep on the flight back after working a case that had drained all his energy when the sound of Morgan’s voice caught his attention. Without opening his eyes, he knew exactly who he was talking to. Spencer had never outright admitted to anyone that he had developed feelings for you but it was getting harder to deny. Once Derek had started pointing out the way he’d look up when you entered a room or the way his eyes lingered as you walked away, he was becoming concerned that this crush was more obvious than he’d like it to be.
He’s been trying to ignore it, telling himself it’s unprofessional when really it’s because he believes there’s no way you could possibly feel the same. There’s a myriad of reasons why he wished Derek would keep his big mouth shut but honestly – that was probably the biggest.
“Likes me? How old are we?” The smooth sound of your response makes Spencer smile to himself in spite of the current situation.
“(Y/N), come on…” Derek chuckles and is immediately met with a long stretch of silence. Spencer can picture the death glare he knows he’d see on your face if he were to look at you in this moment. “Look, you know he’s never gonna ask you out himself so maybe you should just–”
“Derek.” You interrupt with an evident sternness in your tone. “I’m not having this conversation with you. I’ve told you, it’s not happening.” Ouch. Spencer had never allowed himself to dream that you would reciprocate his feelings but he definitely wishes he had been asleep for that one. With that, he forces his eyes shut tighter than before and takes in one deep, slightly shaky breath and decides to try to go back to sleep, if only so that he doesn’t have to hear you reject him even harder.
~
Spencer wakes up as the jet is landing and he quickly gathers all of his things, walking out and across the strip with much more urgency than usual. This detail doesn’t go unnoticed by you, not much does – especially where Spencer is concerned – and you make a mental note to check in with him later. He had caught your eye the first day you met him which must be, what? Half a year ago now? And he had been on your mind ever since. You had bonded quickly as friends, being the two youngest members on the team. About a month ago you had finally allowed yourself to acknowledge the fact that you had developed feelings for him. You’d sit next to him at any given opportunity, listen to his infamously long rants much longer than anyone else would, spend just a little too long staring at his lips as he talked you through his theories. It didn’t take long for people to notice. Elle had her suspicions, JJ made a comment every now and then, but Derek – he wouldn’t let it go. He teases you about it constantly. You haven’t given him the satisfaction of admitting it, you haven’t been able to deny it either.
When you eventually make your way into the building along with the rest of the team you notice that Spencer had already left. It’s only then you start to be concerned. It’s unlike him to leave in such a hurry, even more so to not even say goodbye. You rack your brain trying to come up for a reason for this strange behavior. Is he sick? Upset about something? Was it you? You begin to go over every interaction you’d had with him recently when you have to stop yourself before you spiral. He’s just tired. If it was serious he’d tell you… right?
~
The next morning you walk in to find Spencer at his desk working on the report he didn’t write last night before he had basically ran away.
“Morning, Spence!” You greet him, making an effort to sound cheerful as you lean on his desk. He doesn’t look up, like he’s trying extra hard to look busy.
“Morning, (Y/L/N).” He replies without looking up. His tone seems normal, his use of your last name is what sounds the alarms in your head.
“Hey… are you feeling alright?” You ask tentatively, not wanting to pry too much in case you really had done something wrong that you clearly weren’t aware of. “I noticed you kind of left in a hurry last night.” He finally looks up and meets your eyes, easing your nerves slightly. His eyes shift away and then back to yours before a soft smile graces his lips, one that doesn’t quite reach his eyes.
“I’m okay.” He responds after a while in a way that sounds like that’s not all he wants to say. You go to reassure him, make sure he knows he can tell you anything, but stop yourself when you notice the way he tenses when you place a hand on his shoulder. Retracting your hand quickly, you begin to fidget with your fingers before running them through your hair nervously.
“Spencer… I–” You start and stop and Spencer feels a little guilty as you seem to stumble over your words anxiously. “Is it me? Did I do something? Because if I did I–”.
“(Y/N).” Spencer cuts off your panicked rambling. You take a steadying breath as he slowly rises to stand in front of you, your eyes trailing up when he towers over you. He looks around the room and sighs before focusing back on you. “Can we go somewhere to talk?” You nod and begin walking towards a storage room with Spencer following close behind, quickly checking that there's no one in there before stepping inside.
“What’s going on with you?” You break the silence as Spencer closes the door behind him. “You know you can talk to me about anything.”
“I’m sorry if I’ve been acting weird.” You notice the way he dodges the question. He can’t meet your eyes anymore, his gaze shifts around the room and he smiles awkwardly at you.
“Spence, that’s not–” You interrupt yourself, trying to find a way to put your thoughts to words without overwhelming him. “I only want you to be okay. You’ve been acting differently since last night… If there’s something going on I want to be there for you.” When you say that he smiles sadly. He looks down in thought as if he’s considering something.
“I heard you talking to Morgan…” He mumbles, still staring at his feet – wringing his hands together. You furrow your brows in confusion. Talking to Morgan? “On the jet on the way home…”
“Oh.” This isn’t happening. You figure you should’ve known Derek’s relentless teasing would be your downfall. He must know you like him now. There’s a reason you never wanted him to know how you felt. You couldn’t stand the thought of anything ruining your friendship. Spencer visibly deflates even more in front of you at your lack of response. You begin scrambling to come up with a way to get out of this horrifically embarrassing situation.
“Look, I– I didn’t mean to make this awkward…” Oh god. The way he’s stuttering and tripping over his words. You stare blankly at him, then duck your head, bracing for the impact of his rejection. “It’s not like I thought you would feel the same way I just–” Wait what? Your head snaps back up to see his face, eyes widened, which seems to startle him a little. “I wasn’t going to say anything but I guess I just got really in my head about it.” He begins to look a little panicked. “I didn’t want to make you uncomfortable, I’m sorry if I did.” You just keep staring up at him, mouth agape in disbelief. “(Y/N)?” He says your name with a sad desperation and it reminds you that you should respond.
“Sorry, I–” You say slowly while shaking your head. “Are you saying that – Do you like me?” Now it’s Spencer’s turn to look confused, but it was all starting to make sense to you. You had thought he was acting weird because he had found out about your feelings, when in reality, it was the other way around.
“Yes?” He replies hesitantly.
“I like you too.” You say simply with a shy smile but Spencer looks completely taken aback.
“You do?” The way his eyes light up with a subtle excitement was adorable. Soon after, that look was replaced with skepticism. “But I thought— you told Morgan you didn’t like me.”
“I told Morgan to stop teasing me about you because I didn’t think this…” You gesture between the two of you. “Was ever going to happen.” Spencer let out a sigh of relief and smiled bashfully.
“You could have just told me.” You feel his eyes scanning your face as if he were still looking for proof that you weren’t messing with him.
“You didn’t tell me either.”
“I thought there was no way…” You make eye contact as he trails off in thought. “I guess it doesn’t matter now.” Spencer takes a tentative step closer to you but doesn’t move to touch you in any way, so you reach out to take his hands in yours, lacing your fingers together.
“Well… maybe if we don’t have to fly out for a case today, we could go to dinner tonight?” You’re staring down at your intertwined hands, squeezing once before looking back up. When you see his face he’s still looking down with a big dopey grin on his face and you can’t help but smile right back.
“Yes— definitely.” You giggle at his obvious enthusiasm.
You both stay in the storage room for another couple minutes, mostly just staring starry eyed at each other. Eventually you both decide that you should get back to work. You try to hide whatever was now going between you as much as you can but like always, Derek Morgan figures you out within minutes and he, along with the rest of the team, teases you relentlessly. (You wouldn’t have it any other way.)

3. hiding face in neck
.
It was no secret to anyone that Lando Norris was a clingy person.
He was just naturally an affectionate person and it extended to everyone around him. The people in McLaren were used to the way he pulled them into hugs after good races or pressed up against them during meetings. His family and friends were used to the way his body would slump against them when he was comfortable or happy or laughing. Fans noticed the way he tended to lean in towards them during photos or always offer a hug.
And you and Max were very aware just how touchy he was in his day-to-day life, and the way it grew tenfold when he was upset.
His win in Miami unlocked a new kind of hunger in him. He knew he was capable of winning and now he had and he wanted to do it again and again and again until he couldn’t no more. And he was close. He was always so fucking close but the almosts and what ifs were starting to weigh down on him a little.
Compared to what he was like in his early years of Formula One, Lando was usually quite good at getting himself out of those negative mindsets. But when the media seemed hellbent on reminding him of his failures, on his ‘one off’ win, on every mistake, it was hard to talk himself out of his spiralling thoughts.
And even if he couldn’t bring himself to say something to you or Max, there were still signs you two picked up on.
“M’exhausted,” he mumbled out as he practically fell on top of you where you were laying on Max’s bed in his driver room. He knew he should have made his way to the McLaren motorhome after the post-race press conference but he didn’t have the heart to face his team just yet.
“You’ve had a long weekend,” you commented as your hands moved to his curls, your nails lightly scratching against his scalp until you felt him let out a sigh of relief as he nuzzled his face against your neck. “You did so well.”
He let out a dry laugh. “Uh huh.”
You frowned a little but you didn’t get the chance to say anything when Max wandered into the room, smiling at the sight of you two. But it took a few seconds to acknowledge the look on your face and the way Lando didn’t lift his head from your neck for him to frown.
“Is this about the reporters?” Max questioned as he paused beside you both, his lips turned down annoyance. “Their questions were ridiculous. I don’t know how they are allowed to ask half those questions.”
“They aren’t really wrong though, are they?” Lando muttered out, his voice slightly muffled but you and Max heard him well enough.
“Get up,” Max demanded, voice blunt and leaving no room for disagreement as he began to pull Lando off you.
The Brit let out a whine but allowed Max to practically manhandle him until he was standing in front of the Dutch, looking far worse than exhausted. It made something quite like guilt twist in his stomach at how unsettled and gutted the younger boy looked.
“They were talking out of their asses,” Max told the boy firmly, his hands cupping Lando’s face so he couldn’t look away. “And I know you won’t believe me right now. And I’m not saying you can’t be upset about today’s race. But I don’t want you listening to people who are wrong.”
And realistically, Lando knew Max was right. He knew everything he said was correct and that the media were probably goading responses out of him but he was tired and upset and he couldn’t find the words to say how he felt to the two of you.
So instead, he lunged forward until Max’ arms were holding onto him tightly, until his face was nuzzled against Max’s neck and he could feel the warmth of your body behind him.
It wouldn’t fix everything magically or stop the spiralling thoughts, but it did make him feel a little better as he stood squished between the two of you.

this is literally word vomit, feel free to ignore, I just needed to get my thoughts out because I feel like everyone on social media (twitter) is acting insane right now and I can’t take it anymore.
in case you don’t want to read all that:
TL;DR stop being weird it’s just racing.
- - - - -
it feels crazy to me that RBR are allowed to constantly taunt Lando on social media (his insta, his threads, his tiktok, etc.) and have their TP and other high ranking members of their team call Lando pathetic, and post a livery reveal that looks like blood dripping, inviting a lot of disgusting people to comment that “it looks like Norris’s blood” and “they’re going to k!ll Norris”…
but the second McLaren post a factual analysis video that reiterates everything that everyone already knew (it was just an accident, with more blame leaning towards Max since you can literally see him move towards Lando on the helicopter camera), they’re the villains.
like, I understand that the social media admins can move real weird sometimes, but this all just seems so overblown to me. If RBR are allowed to constantly poke fun at it and act tongue and cheek about the incident, McLaren are allowed to remind people (who, by the way, are now trying to say that the incident was actually Lando’s fault the whole time - I’ve had to block a lottt of people) what actually happened and whose race it actually ruined.
I like both of these teams (lean more McLaren, if that wasn’t obvious), and I don’t root for anyone’s downfall, but I’m so tired of social media right now. yes, Max was more in the wrong for the collision. no, that doesn’t mean Lando is absolved of all guilt. but yes, it did hurt Lando’s race & championship bid more than it did Max’s, and he reacted accordingly (not correctly, necessarily, but accordingly).
any further conflict beyond that should be dealt with by them (and probably has already been dealt with) since they’re the only two people involved. it shouldn’t matter beyond that. and now both drivers are getting constant hate and death threats thrown towards them, and it’s exhausting. I just want to watch racing! I could not care less about the infighting that comes after every single time a driver makes a move! sometimes people run into each other, it happens!!!
this weekend, Max was in the wrong. last weekend, Lando was in the wrong (Spain grass incident). but it doesn’t matter! it’s racing! stop asking people to kts over a bunch of millionaires racing in badly drawn circles! and stop trying to blame the other driver more than your fave, you’re just continuing the circle of hate.
and also, as an aside, if you’re going to post hate/anti- posts towards a driver, can you please at least tag them correctly? so I don’t have to see post after post of vitriol towards my favorite drivers when I’m just trying to escape from it all? thx
I don’t know if I made the point I was trying to make but I’m just so tiredddddd like it’s been three days can we just move on to the next race. no one got injured, no one died, let’s just move please.

Ok bestie, anon who followed up on Amoore reporting back as requested ha. I should say we are on a similar page, her & Kitley are very tough to get a read on. And a lot of the online chatter agrees its hard to judge and goes back and forth on whether theres something more going on. For those interested, I suggest watching their youtube ch series for a general sense of them interacting. Entertaining and light vids, not overly long. Really just little things between them here & there that add up. And of course a person can review their socials..
Now onto the tea I came across online. Imperfectly summarized the best I can below. (Allow me to stipulate that I have no way of verifying any of this, so please understand Im not at all sharing any of this to be presented as true or false. Take it as simply passing along the posting of others for conversations sake here in a safe space. Comments/feedback/corrections welcome)
:
Its described as on/off thing, first beginning summer 2020. A VT insider says people are aware that Amoore hasnt been committed, to put it delicately/nicely. Leading most recently to a break of sorts last Dec-mid Jan. (Added pretty sure they are together rn though. And another person did point out if Liz was getting cheated on why would Georgia seem to maintain a good relationship with the Kitley family, which is a fair Q to pose). But notably, a strangely long break in their podcast took place over that period and for the first time in 3 years they didn’t spend XMas together or hang around each other over the holiday and when podcast recording returned they just said “we had Xmas” and didn’t talk about it. It was also pointed out that sometime in winter, Liz had tickets to see an NHL game and went w Cayla King despite her and Georgia talking about how they wanted to go together before. Only sus bc it happened to coincide w the time where Georgia was speculated to have gotten close to Kate Martin. Then suddenly they K & G werent interacting anymore and L & G seem back to being “besties”.
Sidenotes:
Liz’s "2020 love playlist"… apparently someone has screenshots that it used to be titled Georgia. Includes some fav bands/songs of Amoores. And a tune called Australia Street lol. Lots of love songs predictably, but some breakup songs were added to it at one point (the comment seems to insinuate during the time they were going through issues)
They're friends with a married lesbian couple (Youtubers/influencers? The Bellaires) who they once visited alone.
Also, fyi, Kate Martin is apparently recently back w her last ex, whoever that is - per talk re social media activity
You're my new favorite person omg because this is my kinda tea fr! Can y'all tell I love some good gossip?
I'm ngl, I was never the most invested in V-Tech or the girls on the team, so I don't really follow them. And I was pretty convinced Liz was straight so I just assumed her and Georgia really were just really close besties.
But this checks out with what I've heard/read too, that they were in that "undefined" kinda place, mainly because of Georgia and eventually Liz got tired of it. I definitely didn't know about the Christmas or the NHL stuff but that makes sense. Also from what I heard, they were probably done for good now with Liz going to the draft? But still being together also makes sense. I'm so invested in this now omg.

I've been struggling to write anything at all after the horrors of writing and rewriting my thesis. But I'm starting to emotionally recover from my various ordeals and I really miss writing for fun, so I've been trying to think of a warm-up exercise that will allow me to reawaken my writing brain and regain some confidence without too much pressure. I've settled on writing an alternative version of the first chapter of Tactical Disadvantage from Catra's POV (instead of Glimmer's as in the original).
It's been fun so far! I'm enjoying getting excited about this fic again. I'm undecided if I'll finish the full alternative chapter, it might fulfill its purpose as a warm-up before then, but if I do then I'll post it to AO3 as TD bonus content. (Also I think it'd be funny to call the flipped POV chapter Tactical Advantage...?)
I feel like sharing, so here's the WIP so far. Around 700 words. The fic starts towards the end of season 2, sometime after White Out.
---
Catra sulked aimlessly through the Fright Zone corridors, trying to shake off a dark mood.
No matter what successes she achieved, Hordak continued to find fault with her. This time it was her ‘inability to command authority’, after a training exercise she put her team through had turned disastrous. As if it was her fault she had inherited such poorly trained cadets.
Catra’s thoughts were interrupted as her attention caught on something.
She paused where she stood, ears twitching and tail bristling, while her consciousness caught up with her instincts. What was different? She sniffed the air.
There! An ionic fizz that didn’t belong. She sniffed again. If she didn’t know better, she would have sworn it was just like the infuriating crackle in the air that appeared whenever that sparkly princess teleported.
Catra scowled at the thought of her. Something about her was deeply annoying.
The ionic scent grew stronger as Catra stalked further down the corridor in her hunt for its source, then faded again. It definitely smelled like the clouds of sparkles around the teleporting princess. Catra should know – it was usually all over her when they fought.
Could she actually be here? Catra narrowed her eyes and scanned the corridor. Where would I hide if I were a dumb princess alone in hostile territory? Her gaze rose to a wide, rectangular utility duct that ran high along a wall, with a sizeable gap between it and the corridor’s exposed ceiling beams. She had spent more than a little time hiding in similar crevices of the Fright Zone. Where would I hide if I were a dumb cat alone in hostile territory?
Catra hastily refocused her thoughts on the matter at hand: was Sparkles here in the Fright Zone and, if so, what was Catra going to do about it? She stood on her toes and lifted her nose as high as she could. This time she thought she caught an out-of-place but familiar sweetness. After checking the corridor was empty, she climbed silently up the wall opposite the metal duct until she was almost level with it. She twisted around.
Despite her suspicions, Catra almost lost her grip on the wall with the shock of seeing tufts of pink and purple hair in the shadows above the duct. She recovered quickly and – determined not to let a princess keep the element of surprise – sprang up from the wall to grab a central ceiling beam, from which she swung and leapt. She landed lightly on the duct, ready for a fight.
The Bright Moon princess lay at Catra’s feet. She was asleep. Catra nearly laughed in disbelief – as if her mere presence wasn’t strange enough. Catra studied her for a moment, looking for anything that explained why she was here.
The princess’s boots were freshly scuffed and muddy, so she had been travelling on foot. She was far from home, hiding, and tired enough to fall asleep in an unsafe location, so she was probably low on magic. She looked a little bedraggled but not so much as to suggest she had been in a fight, so she had avoided being seen. She had been here long enough to fall asleep yet no alarm had been raised, so she was likely alone. This wasn’t an official visit.
Catra went down on her hands and knees to look more closely at the sleeping princess. She was quite pretty, really. It was odd to see her face so relaxed, lit by the soft glow from her shimmering hair. Glimmering, thought Catra.
Catra pulled back. She had a golden opportunity here. For what, she wasn’t yet sure, but she mustn’t waste it. She closed her eyes, inhaled, exhaled, and opened her eyes as a ruthless Force Captain once more. The princess was perfect prey, lying defenceless before her.
Catra straddled Glimmer’s waist, roughly jostling her onto her back as she did so, and knelt over her. When she didn’t wake, Catra tapped her face impatiently. Glimmer moaned and squeezed her eyes closed. Cute, thought Catra. She drew her claws and pressed them hard against Glimmer’s cheek.
“Wakey, wakey, Sparkles.”

can you imagine post case 4 laurent calling up makoto and being like "Hey Do You Want To Do A Con Again" only for makoto to turn him down so completely that it kind of forces him to reassess his own goals and priorities and what he wants out of life now that his grudges have been settled.
because he just kind of Assumed that his way of living would work for makoto and that working with team confidence would set him down that same path for life (see: the parallels between the way he and makoto are treated by team confidence when they first join), because why Wouldn't it? and he probably thought makoto's genuine desire to be a good person and make an honest living was a result of conformity more than anything. (and it's not even like an honest life is Inherently Better, more that laurent, as someone who was never really able to lead that sort of existence, can't really understand its value beyond it being Safer)
the difference is that makoto doesn't enjoy hurting people, even if it's for a good cause, while laurent (imo) has a very "the end justifies the means" approach and is, I would argue, a lot more childish and petty.
with hindsight and the context of his own treatment, the way makoto is treated by team confidence starts feeling like projection on laurent's behalf. "I saw people fake die in front of me, so it's fine" "I wasn't told anything, so it's fine" "I suffered, but because it's all fake it's fine". tbh it feels like laurent never allowed himself to properly process any of his trauma besides the stuff that was "real" (and even in that case, he only really processed dororthy's death after the score had been settled), so he just expects that makoto will do the same thing and be fine, which is. not how it should go
I just think laurent should be given the chance to kind of. Think about team confidence more critically upon witnessing makoto's post case 4 depression that's all. I think he should go bug makoto at his new job and when makoto doesn't react at all and makes it very clear that he wants laurent Gone, laurent has to confront the fact that this sort of stuff really can fuck people up, and maybe he's a little less okay than he thought. and then he goes and whines to oz about it and then they make out idk
hi op. hi. hey . can i make out with you? no? okay sorry
AOUFUGHHF YOURE SO RIGHT YOURE SO RIGHT OG MY GOD this has been my EXACT thoughts regarding makoto and laurent too god they are so insane
i swear to god its like generational trauma between them 😭 its like the children dealing with what the parents dealt with when they were younger LMAOOO
god i am a sucker for post-case 4 cause there is no way everyone, at least makoto, will be okay after that. i agree so hard with makoto just not reacting At All instead of the comical GRAHHH NOOO YOU CAN'T ROPE ME INTO THIS AGAIN!!! but only in my hc i feel like makoto would just comply because hes so Tired
anyway id love to talk more aboit this but i am stupid but thank u op youre so smart and correct and hot

I can't believe I'm doing this ...
I found this neat nugget on my doorstep.
Edit: At this post, to be precise. Just for context.
Tumblr media
Well, @beril66. Okay. Normally I'm the nice explainer-bear in this part of the woods, answering even the strangest questions in a friendly and detailed way. Normally I'm the damned Credible Hulk who even feeds trolls with lore until they are round and peaceful or at least waddle away into the wilderness again after the winter feeding to survive the frost period …
But this … this is beyond my boiling point!
Listen, you clown - you come traipsing into my blog, obviously didn't even bother to look at the last three posts, obviously don't even know who Saqqara is and therefore don't see the irony behind letting a diabolist explain the world - and instead of just keeping yourself nice and closed, you throw up something like your comments on my living room carpet? What went wrong in your childhood?
But you know what? I just can't help it. I should end this text here, block you back under your bridge and go back to drawing naked Astartes. But instead, once again, I can't get out of my skin and feel the urge to reply.
I can't say now that you give me much to work with. Nothing but "No, it's not like that, I think it's great and you're stupid". That's not exactly the level at which I usually discuss Warhammer - but I'll make it work.
So: If you had looked at my blog even superficially you would know that I like TTS. I am therefore looking at it with a very friendly eye. The fact that I'm not upset about the portrayal of my absolute favourite characters Lucius and Fabius should give you the additional hint that I have no problem at all with something I like being made fun of. But I am not wearing the ultimate fanboy-blinders and am able to keep my distance and can therefore say that I do not find both Magnus and Dorn portrayed "in character". Extensively readable in the Heresy novels (for Dorn and Magnus, by the way, many of the characterisation gems here can be found in the later anthologies. Which explains a lot of the mistakes in TTS, as not much of it had been released yet when they started their project and set the characters. So the creators couldn't know any better. The fact that angry fans are now shitting their incendiary speeches at my feet here is of course then rather unreflective. But I can't blame Alfabusa and the team for that. You don't choose your fans). That you conclude from this that I think the Emperor is great and am humourless is in itself extremely amusing. But you're probably right.
Tumblr media
He's the best. I aspire to be like him. Also, please educate yourself about the difference between "well written" and "being a good guy". Because the Emperor is well written in a lot of cases, he just isn't a good guy.
For me, TTS is not the problem. It's people like you who obviously don't want to delve further into the subject matter, but turn memes into canon. No one needs to have read every scrap of lore. I myself am very selective in what I read and I know far too little. Learning new things, changing my mind accordingly - that's a big part of the fun I have in fandom. I allow myself the luxury of challenging my fan-ness with books and opinions that don't line up with mine. At best, I'm even wrong and can add something new to my private Warhammer treasure chest.
I recommend you do the same. Don't stop where you are, read the books. Realise that, contrary to what you seem to believe at the moment, they are not humourless and unreflective, but on the contrary have wit and irony in many shades (quite a few of those shades are called "sledgehammer", but that counts too!).
Now that was severely abbreviated, but I'm tired of it.
Run, little troll! Run, you are free!

I feel like I should have Agent headcanons if I have Splatoon OCs. so uh. yeah first pass of ideas let's go:
Captain 3: Any/all but leans they/them. Incredibly tired to the point where almost everyone says they look like a corpse at least once. Extremely burnt out after their agent days both mentally and physically so doesn't do much nowadays. Missed out on normal late teen/early adult years. Stays with the Cuttlefish family, who are more than willing to help them out after all they've done. Somewhat tall in a gangly way. Nonverbal and most people always misinterpret the looks they give as death stares.
4: He/him. Goober who tries not to think too hard. Has the default Splat2 girl haircut. Still helped with agent business after the Splatoon 2 campaign but never really did anything useful and so kind of just enjoyed the rest of their teen years peacefully. Big turf wars guy but passionately detests ranked battles. Not good at turf wars but still has fun along the way. Most talkative of the agents by a LOT. Very bad at keeping the agent stuff a secret but nobody believes him when he mentions it. Still really close to Callie and Marie even after not seeing them for a while. Somehow hangs out with 8 regularly and none of the rest of the squidbeak splatoon knows how they met. Still the shortest out of the entire splatoon, sometimes gets confused for a teenager but doesn't take offense to it. Probably will be less traumatized after Side Order than you'd think.
8: She/her. Settled into Inkopolis civilian life after reaching the surface and didn't really look back on the agent stuff. Acted as sort of an online celebrity to other octolings during the first big integration into inkling society. Naturally quiet but more talkative than Cap. Marginally above average height. Has put on some healthy weight since settling down. Not ready for Side Order.
Neo 3: She/They/It. Inkling. Splatlands survivalist that somehow happened to get roped in to the agent stuff on a supply trip to Splatsville. They thought it was a paid gig sort of thing and didn't get to ask Cuttlefish about it before falling into Alterna, and complained under their breath the whole way up to the end of that campaign. The most fit of the agents by a significant margin, and roughly as tall as Captain 3, though appears to stand taller due to slouching less. Kind of a sarcastic ass to pretty much everyone at first. Still doesn't like Deep Cut but it's for petty reasons they won't elaborate on. Tolerates the rest of the squidbeak splatoon. more or less. Considers Little Buddy an adopted younger sibling. Gets along with salmonids better than inklings and octolings, and can even speak their language. Wasn't allowed within 500 feet of any GrizzCo operations before the campaign for reasons officially cited by the company as "property damage, among other transgressions too numerous and specific to detail". Banned from the battle lobby tower for two years on account of violently whacking a 13 year old on the head with a tri-stringer. The kid was on her team.
Anyways I uh. wrote this out at like 4 AM and I'm just now posting it so people actually see it. Might draw these soon and connect at least one of them to the other characters. maaaaaaaaybe.

I have so many thoughts about Purgatory and how it's being handled, but I'm also too tired to write a proper post
Here's a bunch of rambling instead:
idk like I think the thing they did successfully was reinvigorating the QSMP project (I think, idk what the actual numbers are tbh, I'm just going by vibes). It's a very dramatic event and it's constantly changing. No two days are the same as I said earlier. They also brought together people who hadn't interacted much before and gave everyone a break from the staleness of a seven month old server. And the mystery aspect keeps people engaged, even almost unwillingly so I think.
It's spectacle, it's hype
But....
I do think the way it was handled, even taking it for granted that this was all a good idea, as far as I can tell, the players were not warned in any way that they would be suddenly thrown into a completely new gamemode? Live on stream? A gamemode that's explained very poorly to them so most of them have no idea what's happening or how they're supposed to play it? That's harsh. It's no wonder a bunch of them didn't take it well! And some of them might have if they'd been given a bit more of a warning or had a better explanation! People are generally more open to new things if they're not just suddenly pushed into it.
They didn't sign up for this kind of pseudo-battle dome type of thing, they signed up for an SMP. Usually when SMPs do competitive events, the players are told ahead of time and are allowed to opt out. But with this? If you opt out, you're fucking over your team, because you already got assigned to one and if you're not logging on, your team has one less player.
Also the viewers too would probably have responded better with a bit more of an explanation. Like if you're showing up for a mystery thriller in the movie theatre, you'd be pretty pissed off if it turned out it was actually a sports tournament. And most would probably just leave the theatre. And then the people who heard that it was a sports tournament and came in going oh boy I sure do love me some sports, would be pretty pissed off when it turned out it was actually a mystery thriller masquerading as a sports tournament after all.
Okay maybe that analogy is a bit weird and exaggerated and unfair but like.... what even is this event actually?
And that's my next point: Like separating it from all the stuff I just said about needing to reinvigorate the server, what is the point of doing it like this? The players themselves don't seem sure what's expected of them, should they be roleplaying or should they just have fun competing and ignore the lore?
I get the impression that it was intended to be possible to play either way depending on the streamer, but the thing is that this makes both options frustrating. You can't fully roleplay because have to play along with the game and you can't just fully commit to the competition because it's so full of lore elements and badly designed from a competitive point of view (I mean look at Sunday's surprise elimination round when a bunch of greens were busy, which I feel is the most ridiculous example of this. But also Soulfire getting targetted by the kill quests for seemingly no reason. And then there's the cursed team aspect: what the hell are you even supposed to do with that as a competitive player? So much of it is so stupid. But it's also not balanced in a way that would be fun for casual play either.)
Not to mention the fact that when you have people who want to roleplay and people who don't, there's absolutely going to be clashes, and you also end up blurring the line between roleplay and reality. And of course the audience will be confused and won't get it, either way.
Okay, a very simple example that I think was already dropped: Etoiles attacking Phil and Phil taking it as Lore while Etoiles was just having fun playing video games. I think they basically just resolved it by Phil letting it go (which is the correct take IMO), but you can see why this kind of thing is a problem, right? Because if the person who wants to roleplay interprets it as roleplay, they're effectively godmodding the other person's character, which is bad rp etiquette. But then if they can't interpret it as roleplay it means they basically just can't actually roleplay.
You can't have some characters roleplaying and others not, at least not unless you've made that clear between the players and also to the audience.
Also I just have to point out that even though QSMP doesn't have an activity requirement, I do feel like they have a bad habit of creating events that effectively create psychological and social pressure to log on and play along with whatever they throw at you. This was a problem with the egg event; suddenly you have a Minecraft baby that you have to take care of every day with another person you've probably only known for like two weeks (if you get a partner at all) OR THE BABY DIES AND THE FANDOM WILL HATE YOU.
And this is kinda similar; you don't have to log on but you're letting your team down if you don't!
Except this time the fandom will also probably hate you if you do.
idk. I think it's a mess that could have been (somewhat) avoided by just not being so obsessed with mystery and surprises and letting at least the streamers know ahead of time what they were getting into and letting them choose whether they wanted to play at all in the first place or not, and also actually setting up some guidelines for figuring out what was roleplay and what wasn't.
And maybe putting together some kind of a trailer for the viewers so they'll have even a rough idea of what the concept is and would be a bit more prepared for it. (They could just say the trailer is non-canon, it's fine)
The streamers can still act surprised in character, you can just tell them to not let the audience know exactly what's coming and to pretend like they don't know anything. I mean there could still be surprises like the teams and the exact mechanics of the game and the specifics of the lore. I just think the players should know something about what they're getting into. It's just common courtesy.
(But also the event itself could have been better designed)
And maybe you can set up something where only the streamers who signed up for the event actually end up on Egg Island, and the others conveniently were all in a car that got detached from the train on the way so now they've ended up somewhere different and maybe they just have like a low-maintenance temporary server to play on casually if they want to, maybe with some subtle lore elements that they can discover. You could do something weird with that too, like maybe the car got derailed into an ocean and they end up in a waterworld sort of place and have to figure out how to play in that kind of environment for two weeks; challenging but chill. (idk it's a random idea but something like that could be fun for a very limited time, and imagine the memes.)
Anyway, obligatory end note: I do genuinely respect the work the admin team put into this project. It's a lot, it's very ambitious, and it often pays off. They're also very good about responding to feedback which is great. I just think that they do make a lot of frustrating mistakes, or what I would consider mistakes. (There are other things I could complain about but that's another post)
Also I do think Purgatory would have worked better if it had happened earlier in the egg disappearance arc, but I fully understands why it took so long. There isn't much you can do about scheduling issues. Can't criticise the admins for that.

Are you accepting flowers? I stopped at FTD and got you a bouquet!
💐
I was on the fence about what to excerpt but hey how about a WIP I have a bunch of words of and will finish... *waves hand* sometime. Someday. Probably. And I don't think I've posted this bit before? Sadly it has no title, but here's a chunk of words!
“Try calling in again, dammit, Ri.”
Jack’s voice carries enough of the snap of command that Riley stops typing and reaches for the phone again. “I already tried the South America station line, the international Phoenix line, and war room twice each,” Riley says.
“Try them again.”
“Okay,” she says under her breath, and pulls up the number listed as SOUTHSIDE FINANCIAL on her phone. The number rings through, answered by a woman who manages to sound bored as she asks which advisor Riley’s trying to contact and if she got their number via a referral.
That’s a coded request for Riley’s call-in code, which should trigger her access into the CIA’s phone system and get her in touch with Matty.
But when she gives it, the operator tells her, in a tone so snide it makes her blood boil even though she knows it’s just an act, that she’s dialed the wrong number. Then the line goes dead. Again.
“No good,” she reports. “And before you ask again, I’ve tried Matty’s direct line four times, Jack. I got a the number you dialed is not in service robot recording all four times. I don’t even think I’m being allowed to connect to her phone number anymore.”
Jack lowers his face to his hands and curses quietly and colorfully. His elbows are on his knees, propping up his arms. He looks tired, and he’s as tense as she’s ever seen him. They’ve been through some bad days together. This one started out bad and is going downhill fast. “This is the worst fucking timing. It’s bad enough if we’re all disavowed, but it’s a real low blow cutting us off when she knows we need Phoenix resources to get to Mac.”
Matty loves Mac. They all do. But nobody makes it to directing covert ops if they can’t make the sort of tough call they know might get somebody killed.
Like disavowing your team in the middle of a rescue op.
“Fuck,” Jack says. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.”

Since you guys liked my writing last night, I thought I'd post a fanfic of RWBY :) so have my Nuts and Dolts fanfic.
Penny woke up with warm sun rays glowing across her face. She wasn't used to this. She was used to her "wake up routine" just being that she'd step off the platform she'd be standing on for a couple hours to charge her batteries. She didn't have to do that now, she'd realized. She never had to just stand there searching for more data while an electric current ran through her boots.
She'd look around the room, she didn't perfectly recognize everything. Another new thing. She spotted Ruby by the blinds.
"Good morning Penny!" Ruby said excitedly.
"Salutations Ruby Rose!" Penny replied, with what she had intended to be her normal enthusiasm, but was a bit more tired sounding than she had wanted.
Penny yawned. Another new occurrence. Although, she had yawned the previous night while laying in bed.
"That was honestly really cute, Penny," Ruby would say, watching Penny yawn and sluggishly get out of bed.
"How so? According to the information I acquired prior to being turned into a real girl, yawning is a standard human response to being tired. Is it not?" Penny replied
"It is, but it usually doesn't sound like a kitten who was about to fall asleep on the couch"
"I feel like I am about to fall asleep, is that normal?"
"Yes, Penny, it is probably one of the most normal things in the world to be tired when you wake up. Now, you wanna get up and come eat breakfast? You might want to get changed first though."
Another new thing. Getting dressed. She hadn't had to clothe herself since before the Fall of Beacon. Her father constructed her with her dress built in the second time. She remembered that she was wearing a simple, pale copper green dress with an orange trim. She felt Ruby's gaze on her.
"What time is it, Ruby?" Penny asked quietly. She thought she knew, but she no longer had a clock in her vision at all times, so she thought it better to ask.
"It's 9:30, why do you ask?"
She was wrong. Once again, something new.
"I had thought it was closer to 10:45. I was concerned we would be late for our patrol at 11:30." Penny replied, less sluggish now, back to her standard excitement.
"Alright, I'm gonna go check in on the rest of my team, and team JNR. I am worried Jaune might not be doing great, and Blake and Yang... well... yeah..." she trailed off. Penny was curious what Blake and Yang could've been doing. She decided not to continue the conversation as Ruby seemed she needed to get back to waking the others.
"Understood. Thank you, Ruby Rose!" Penny replied.
"Like I've said before, you're allowed to just call me Ruby. We've been friends for a while."
"Understood. Thank you friend Ruby!"
Ruby walked out of the room. Penny saw her glance over her shoulder before gently closing the door to Penny's room of the hotel they'd been staying in for a couple nights in Vacuo.
Penny felt her face get slightly warm. She didn't know why. She wished she could check the endless well of information she used to have access to, but with the CCT down and her being human, she couldn't check. *Oh well,* she thought, *I suppose I should go change my clothes.*
She stood up, walked across the room to the door and locked it. She knew it wouldn't deter Ruby or Qrow because she had given them spare keys to her room just in case, but she made sure to anyway because she thought that was the expected behavior.
She walked over to a near by mirror. She needed to brush her hair. More new things. She had never brushed her hair. She would have to ask a friend to help.
She walked her closet and opened the door. She saw how little she owned in terms of clothes, and gave a small giggle. *I suppose just because I'm a real girl now doesn't mean I'm similar to everyone else yet.* She grabbed her combat dress, boots to replace the ones she lost when she became a real girl, and her thigh-high socks gifted to her by Ruby Rose. She slipped out of her nightgown, slipped on a bra, and put on her dress. She wasn't used to the way skin moved. She was startled when her waist slightly squished upon putting her dress on. She put on her socks next. As she pulled them up she thought of her friend. She remembered how her friend had saved her from Cinder, how Ruby had activated her silver eyes when Penny was grabbed by Cinder. She slipped on the boots that Blake said she used to wear, but didn't fit her anymore. Penny recognized them as the ones Blake wore at her time at Beacon Academy.
Penny checked the mirror. She had forgotten her bow. She grabbed the pink ribbon from her nightstand. She needed to brush her hair before she could put the ribbon on, so she tied it around her wrist and walked downstairs.
Penny walked into the dining room and was immediately greeted by Ruby.
"Hey! Penny! I saved you a seat!" she called through mouthful of pancakes and patted the seat to her right. To her left was Weiss, followed by Blake and Yang who had moved their seats in order to sit closer to one another.
Penny felt oddly jealous of the couple. In all honesty she wished that she could do that with someone who was kind and brave and heroic. Someone like Ruby, she contemplated this. She decided that it wasn't worth risking her first and longest lasting friendship though. In all reality, she didn't even know why she wanted it.
Penny walked over an took her seat next to Ruby, looking at the pancakes she'd been given. Another new thing. Eating. The pancakes looked amazing. They were slightly crisp, but still looked fluffy. They were a golden-brown with shiny syrup strewn across them. She could tell it was Ren's turn to cook.
She looked at her plate and picked up her fork. She began to eat. The pancakes were wonderfully sweet and perfectly fluffy. Penny was not used to how wonderful eating could feel.
"Thank you Lie Ren!" Penny said after she finished her food, "The pancakes were wonderful!"
"Thanks! I made them with-" Ren started, but was cut off by Nora.
"Don't make them sound gross Ren! Let Penny enjoy one of her first meals like... EVER!"
"Alright Nora" Ren said.
Penny looked over at Ruby and smiled. She felt her face get warm again. She questioned it, but before she could get too caught up in it, Ruby spoke again.
"We should probably get going. You are the protector of mantle after all!"
"Indeed Ruby! Let us go to protect the people of what was formerly Mantle!" Penny replied excitedly.

I keep reading comments all over how disappointing the first Melfest heat was and apparently the least-watched Mello start in over a decade. There are even predictions about a possible NQ of Sweden (which I won't believe in because, well, it's Sweden and practically guaranteed around 20 televote points from Finland & Norway). According to Crystal Ball ESC on Twitter the next two heats are going to be even weaker than the first one, and there are speculations about the contest being rigged for Loreen since she got the ultimate pimp slot performing last in the last heat. What are your thoughts?
Oh, interesting question!
My feeling is that people are overreacting a bit by saying things like Sweden might have a non-qualifier before we've even heard all the entries. Another thing which I always keep in mind with esc stuff is the divide between the fans and the general public, since their tastes can differ drastically (see Latvia last year). As far as rigging the contest, I would say that's unlikely. I think that like most years we have a bunch of medicore songs and a few good ones, and because Loreen garners the most interest and likely has one of the better songs they've put her last to let people engage with the rest of the entries before she gets most of the attention (I'm also of the opinnion that people put too much store in the influence of the running order - just because it's the factor we know beforehand doesn't mean it'll be the most significant one on the actual night, when so many more and less predictable factors come into play). But I also only keep up with tumblr and YouTube comments, so I can't really evaluate the nuances of what fans are saying elsewhere.
I get where they're coming from though. To me it feels like mello has been running on empty for years now. Unlike countries with less established national selection procedures, where the varied selection processes may result in more diverse and risky entries, Melodifestivalen feels like a bohemuth whose deep roots make it very hard to shift. There is a very particular and established public perception of what mello is and should be in Sweden, and behind the scenes there is a whole industry which also helps maintain this expected fascade (how tired aren't we of hearing that the same few names have written most of the entries?).
It's like I said in my post comparing mello to doctor who: at this point mello keeps moving mostly on built-up momentum. But momentum doesn't allow for the quick turns and adaptions other countries can pull off so effortlessly. Momentum isn't a creative force, it's a derrivative one. For many countries, national selections are a sprint to be undertaken each year. Mello is a marathon we've been running since Björkman revolutionised the format in 2002. Another simile would be a garden: most countries plant new annuals every year, some have nice bushes they've been tending to for some years, and mello is the big old oak at the edge of the garden. It's majestic and showcases decades of dedicated hard work, yes, but no matter how much love and effort we keep puring into it, trees still grow old and wither. This particular one probably hit its prime over a decade ago.
I'm mixing my metaphors, but I think you get the point. We live in a very different world to 2002. We listen to and engage with music in ways you would struggle to explain to a 2002-ian if you were to go back in time and try. I think it's beyond argument that mello needs not just a reform, but to be revolutionised - the way they did in 2002 - to keep it interesting and relevant to current audiences: both the fans and the public at large. The transfer of management from Björkman to the new team (which happened before last year's edition) would have been a great opportunity for this to be done, but the tiny changes which actually were implemented are barely worthy of the name in my opinion. Behind the scenes they may have made a difference, but the experience of watching the show is very much the same - if not worse (glances at the painfully predictible voting procedure).
Real revolution would take inspiration, and that would equire entusiasm from people deeply familiar with the current landscape available to musical audiences. Mello feels like it's gone in the other direction, toward a more corporate "make a formula and stick to it" assembly line type deal. Though, I guess mello has never been the place you went for musical innovation; perhaps my tastes have just diversified with age. Either way, I agree with the general consensus that mello feels stale. There's a reason esc is my main interest, and it's the diversity of the music and performances. If mello feels more and more restrictive, esc is a liberating breath of fresh air. I can't wait for May to arrive!

Who are the Megastars in the Miguel-Tatiana swap AU? One of them is Lyla, but what about everyone else? Maybe Chai is one of them?
I don't know who would be the Megastars for Miguel's music company in all honesty.
Chai wouldn't be one of them because he still wouldn't know how to play music (like pretty sure that was a major thing in the game where he wants to be a rockstar but doesn't even know how to play a guitar). So even if he did start to learn to play/make music because of Miguel's company, his skill wouldn't be anywhere near good enough to be considered as a Megastar.
I think Rubato and Catherine might be possible Megastars together. Like a duo team that goes to a temporary solo when Catherine gets pregnant and then a permanent solo when Rubato dies (I doubt Yinu would be allowed to be a Megastar by Miguel).
Kinda like the idea that Sayu is still a Megastar, but that wouldn't work out because I think (if I remember correctly since I can't find the post) Eve goes to Tatiana's company to get her powers in order and ends up depressed and unmotivated so wouldn't be able to help Remi and his friends become free of their parents.
I do like to think Gayatri would become a vocalist. Either in a band or something like a narrator for a bit. She is scouted by Miguel's company for her talent and so she (and maybe Pav) take on the role of either a young prodigy (Yinu) or as a hip teen idol (Sayu).
The rest of the Megastars should probably be spider people with maybe one more NSR character thrown in. Like I think a majority of Tatiana's scientists and residents would be mainly NSR characters with a few spiderverse characters (like Olivia being with Tatiana now instead of with Miguel).
I'm thinking Neon J and 1010 could possibly be in Miguel's company (or they might be at Vandelay to replace Zanzo).
Oh! Possibly Hobie could be a Megastar for Miguel! Something in its past changes the way it looks on corporations OR Hobie was given an offer it couldn't refuse (and decides to try and fix things within the system instead of from outside it).
Would be a cool storyline to see Hobie become what it hated and for the revolution to make it realize that what it's doing is not what it wanted to be doing (I think this plot point would be really good to happen after defeating Gaya. Whoever is the revolutionist wonders if what they are doing is right or not, only to get to Hobie and for it to say confirm that the revolution is the right thing and even thank them for kicking its ass into realizing it is in the wrong).
Most likely the best people for the job to fight Miguel's music company would be Gwen and Miles, but I honestly kinda like the idea that May and Zuke go to Miguel while Miles and Gwen go to Tatiana (or maybe for some reason Chai and Peppermint go to Miguel, Mile and Gwen to Tatiana, and May and Zuke to Vandelay. A lot of stuff would have to be moved around, but it could be a fun thought experiment to run lol).
Anyway, yeah I don't have much ideas for who the Megastars are for Miguel other than Gaya (and maybe Pav), and Rubato and Catherine. Possibly Hobie as well.
Maybe Peni could be a Megastar, kinda like taking on a prodigy role such as Yinu but also the tech role of Neon J/1010, something like that. Or using an idol similar to the Crew using Sayu.
It's a combination of mainly Sayu and Yinu's roles or parts of it at least. Like the virtual idol as well as being a prodigy would be part of Peni's role, while having a beautiful voice/vocals and needing to be protected/have an outside protector would be Gaya's role.
Okay, so we have Catherine/Rubato, Gayatri, Peni, and possibly Hobie for 4 of the Megastars. Don't know who the last one will be, or what order they would be in (other than Hobie close to the end).
Yo, I may be a bit dumb or just too tired when writing this lol. Because you literally said in the ask that Lyla is a Megastar (I had to come back and add this in because I answered another ask and was reminded about you talking about Lyla).
So yea, the 5 Megastars are (possibly) Lyla, Hobie, Catherine, Gaya, and Peni. Probably not in that order.
Even though Lyla is like Miguel's second in command in the movies, I think it would be better if she was the first one taken down (with her either being an AI or a real person, idk).
Then either Peni or Gaya, leaning more towards Gaya first then Peni (whichever one is going to make the revolutionists question their motives will be the third one).
The fourth person is Hobie, who strengthens the beliefs of the revolutionists to keep going (maybe even helps a little bit for the final two boss fights).
Then the last Megastar being Catherine, who is actually Miguel's second in command in this AU. Kinda want Yinu to be apart of this fight but not actually in the fight. Like Catherine is very much on the loosing end of the fight, and wants to truly hurt these meddling imbeciles who are trying to destroy the future for everyone! Only for Yinu, who was in the audience or backstage, to come out and try to stop her mom from hurting these people anymore.
I don't know, something along those lines. If you want to keep Yinu as a Megastar though, I think Gabriella is alive in this AU (like I said, can't find the OG post so I forget). But if she is, her and Yinu could be a musical duo (like a young adult Gabriella and late teen Yinu) that Catherine protects.
Though at that point I think it would be too similar to Yinu's OG fight, which makes Gaya's fight a bit repetitive (unless Pav is her protector and uses more psychological stuff to protect Gaya which would just flip flop Eve and Yinu's aesthetics and order. Idk).
So yea. Lyla, Gaya, Peni, Hobie, and Catherine/Yinu and Gabriella are the Megastars for Miguel's musical company!

okay let's be boring and go with ace as a name bc that's my nickname irl bc I'm a massive gilmore girls fan (team logan btw iykyk)!!
I really want to attempt writing fics but I'm wayyyy to nervous! I was okay at English in school and I always send obnoxiously long asks into blogs on here with my ideas based on their fics (sorry fellow tumblr.com authors you all get forced to see my writing) but I have nightmares of writing and putting it on here only to be bullied off the platform ahahahahah
jealous of the sun bathing in England rn its been pissing it down raining all dayyyyy, we only get like 1 week of sun a year and the rest of the time its very stereotypically rainy !! my day was shit but always better after taking to you bff!
also please excuse my excessive use of exclamation marks idk why but to me a full stop feels mean and I also use ellipsis way too much but I, like you, am the drama so I love to build unnecessary tension...
I've actually always wanted jury duty but I've never been called for it, I know it's meant to be so boring but I want to live my jury duty delusion of being a hot juror! a torrid jury love affair? hello I'd read that fic
spring break always sounded so fun to me as a sad English child!! we just call it Easter holidays and be boring and religious but when I hear spring break I imagine drunk people on a beach in florida yk?
my current obsessions for blogs are;
-lottiecrabie (pfms has me in a chokehold)
-toomuchracket (living in the flatmate! matty delusion rn)
-byyourside28 (loving the soft sound series as a person obsessed with getting tattoos)
-justlikemebutsixfootthree (literally all their smut is god tier)
-bookishstrawberry (fluffy and gizmo series has my heart)
-imightgetbetter (the whole love it if we made it series has me wanting children but only fictional ones with matty... the delusion creation is STRONG)
and OF COURSE the no 1 blog on tumblr is the beautiful, amazing and unmatched... shinycollorboneapologist
omg yes to only letting matty into our cottage to sing, we will bring him out tea and cigarettes but otherwise no rats allowed sorry ratthew!! taylor however gets the master suite with a 4 poster bed and unlimited pampering!! same with Ross, George and Adam bc only ratty needs humbling (I really do love you tho Matthew give me one chance I'll be your controversially young gf)

ps. apologies for the ridiculously long ask I literally am so obnoxious
..... i love gilmore girls. lets chat abt that.
okay that is very ... warranted. i also was super nervous and tbh ... style was probably never going to be posted but i was a bit inebriated after my birthday and just posted it without looking back. look at us now!!! so for that, i say you should 110% just take the leap. i will be your #1 fan actually.
i will send the sunshine and good vibes your way. i usually like the rain a lot, but i can imagine it gets a bit tiring if its like that all year long. im glad you had a good day!!!!
i love your use of exclamation points okay. there i said it. it just makes everything you say feel so excited and happy and i love it. the ellipses ...... love that for us. ofc you are the drama, you're the main character hello.
that is how i want my spring break to be, but alas i am working and writing my silly little stories for tumblr.com. SGLJFDLG easter holiday just sounds so cute though?
okay can we talk about pfms.... because that. that fic is my hyper fixation atm. like i just … it’s everything to me.

Where to start?
Firstly, why was McCabe on the bench for so long?
Secondly, finding it hard to rate Stina right now. So many chances that should’ve been finished by her that just weren’t.
Thirdly, getting irritated at these Tik Tok children posting videos about how the final goal wasn’t due to a lapse of concentration. It was. By saying that, I am not saying Leah isn’t an incredible footballer; she is. One of the best. She had a few seconds when she wasn’t in the best position, dropped her guard for a few seconds and Kerr managed to find a goal, which is expected from Kerr. It happens in football, and if we can’t say that then what can we say? The women’s game should be scrutinised in the same way the men’s is, if that had been any men’s defender we would’ve said ‘god he could’ve been in a better position there and stopped that’ - why shouldn’t we be allowed to do that for the women too? That’s where these youngsters are causing the narrow-minded idiots to have things to say - like ‘sure you can’t even say anything bad about their football because they get too emotional’. Leah doesn’t want that, nor do the other women’s players; they want to be judged on their football, they want people to take an interest in the tactics, positioning, and marking - they just don’t want videos of themselves on TT with their shirt lifted and some grim song put over the top of it. She accepted responsibility for the goal, not the match and that’s what they’re failing to see. The multiple missed opportunities weren’t her fault, so by saying that the equaliser could’ve been prevented isn’t blaming the result on her; and she will know and expect that. These children need to stop before they ruin the women’s game before it’s even gotten off the ground.
Fourthly, it is so clear how much we are missing Beth and Viv, we need another striker asap to fill that void if we want to be serious contenders for the title.
Fifthly, and most importantly, it shows how much the women’s game needs stability. It can’t be ‘we’ll play in a ground with a few thousand this week’ and then ‘let’s play in a ground with 40 odd thousand this week.’ It puts unfair pressure on the players, as they feel they have a responsibility to give those fans a reason to return. You could tell today, even in the arrival videos, that the girls were less relaxed and more nervous than they have been previously.
Lastly, aside from that one goal, how incredibly did Leah mark Kerr? Literally gave her no room for anything. Hurtig was equally incredible. Does kind of feel like a huge step backwards for the team, especially with the United win putting them 2nd on GD with the same number of games played, but we move. Onwards and upwards 👆
Well, I’ve bored you for long enough - I’m out 🎤
Totally agree on the McCabe point, bringing her on earlier could have changed the game . Stinas finishing has been dodgy recently, but she still delivers sometimes so we’ll see ig…
We’re definitely missing Viv and Beth, I was very apprehensive about going into this game without them, and I definitely think we would’ve got a goal or two with them on, as Jonas said, we need a ‘prolific’ goal scorer
Leah had a mostly good game ! Kerr could’ve easily been shooting/scoring a lot easier if Leah hadn’t marked her as well as she did, the last minute goal was Leah’s fault, but the loss in general wasn’t. It was the end of the game, and all the players looked exhausted and probably wanted the game to end.
I think we also would’ve had a better time if we used players from the bench, as that’s what they’re there for, in the last half an hour we could’ve had mana on, gio ect, just to replace the tired legs as stina looked exhausted
Hopefully this doesn’t cost us too much
