Sandahl Bergman in Conan The Barbarian (1982)
There was some deleted bits during the montage of Conan's stint as a pit fighter that revealed Valeria was another fighter and had crossed paths with Conan before, hence why Conan uses his old gladiator salute towards her pyre after her spirit saves him during the battle among the mounds. Wonder if this out fit was from those scenes.
This blade was commissioned by a queen as a reward for its user, whose aid helped reinstate peace in the court. Said user had unintentionally ended months of complicated political unrest when they eliminated a monster terrorizing the local peasants. Unbeknownst to this warrior, the monster had been strategically planted by a scheming noble to reignite an ancient border dispute, escalating to the point of an assassination plot against the queen. This drama ended neatly when the passing warrior deposited the monster's head at the court to collect a bounty. They were confused by the gift of a sword but politely accepted- though they prefer fighting with fists and headbutts.
“She was a luscious Hyborian, round, fair, with a mask of gold between her thighs–but she was corrupt. Overlorded by a dæmon; which so evidently lumbered over her, casting the shadow of a reptilian beast.”
