Nothing beats the feeling of finally looking up that old band you hear people waxing poetic about, those bands that everyone says are the best of the best, are the "greats" of music, and realizing, halfway through one of the first couple songs you clicked, that Oh. So that's why.

You know about these bands, you've seen their shirts and heard their names over and over, but you never really sought them out for yourself. They were just a common name. You know them like you know a statue or famous painting: as something that everyone fondly remembers, or as something you're taught to respect. But it's not until you go and see that painting for yourself, until you look up at that statue and see all the care and love and life carved into the stone, that you get it. You get why they're the greats. You get why they caused such uproar when they arrived into the public eye.

It always happens late at night, or during a boring afternoon. You just.... remember they exist, and decide, hey, might as well give them a listen.

And then your whole world is suddenly shoved from its axis.
