POKESHIPPING WEEK 2024!

It's that time again, pokeshippers!

Last year, we announced that the format of Pokeshipping Week - one theme per day - was getting retired. We also said that we'd still put on a celebration of some kind going forward. Well, the time is here, and I'm happy to announce that we are planning a pokeshipping zine...next year!

If you'll forgive the bait-and-switch there, we have seriously talked about doing a zine, but time got away from us this summer. So, while we do hope to tackle that undertaking in 2025, for this year, we're planning what you might call an open Pokeshipping Week!

How does it work, you ask? Simple: over the years, you all have submitted a lot of potential themes for Pokeshipping Week. For every seven that got chosen each year, plenty were left behind. Well, now you can fill November 1 to 7 with art, fics, AMVs, GIFs, graphics, etc., all about our favorite Poke-couple, using any seven you'd like from the unused themes list.

Any and all contributions are welcome, and if they're tagged #pokeshipping week 2024, we'll reblog them here and on the main @pokeshipping blog. Besides Tumblr, we’ll keep our eyes out for the tag on Twitter and DeviantART for artwork, for fanfics on FF.Net and AO3, and for AMVs on YouTube (no NSFW, please).

Obleta Basic Setting Info

A (relatively) short rundown of the steampunk-Great Ace Attorney-Pokemon Mystery Dungeon setting of @obletadetective.

There are seven main areas in Obleta: The Summer Continent, the Autumn Continent, the Winter Continent, the Spring Continent, the Monsoon Continent, the Harmatta Continent, and the Sea of Seasons.

There are sapient Pokemon-like robots known as "automatons", powered by Z-crystals. They used to not have the same rights as bio Pokemon, but around the time of the fourth model type of them was being produced, that changed, and now they have the same rights as any other Pokemon. The eighth model type of automatons is currently being produced.

Arceus is compeltely unknown to the world of Obleta. Instead, Volcanion is seen as the "head legendary" of the world, and is commonly referred to as the Great Inventor.

Most towns in Obleta are named after machine parts. Fulcrum City, Gear Port, and so on. Engine City is the largest city on the Summer Continent.

As it is a steampunk world, many, many things in Obleta are powered by steam, from airships to elevators to carriages.

Mystery dungeons exist, and follow the same rules as canon PMD, with my additional worldbuilding attached.

There are things called "Artifacts", that allow one to travel to other worlds. However, most of them are locked up in high security vaults. But if you know the right Pokemon, it's possible to get your paws on one.

There's two major criminal organizations on the Summer Continent: The Pizza Mafia and the Sandwich Mafia. Each prefers to only deal out their namesake's food, and if you find a pizza shop or sandwich shop, chances are that it belongs to one of the two mobs.

Time Gears exist in Obleta.

That's about all the major things I can think of off the top of my head.

So just before summer began, I ended up making a scratch(That coding site for kids) account. I’ve always been sorta interested in coding and I thought it would be fun to mess around in Scratch. And what I decided to make was a quiz cause I thought that would be easy; and I decided to theme it off Pokémon mystery dungeon and I decided that it would have all the starter Pokemon+ Pikachu and eevee. Which meant figuring out how to script at least 29(it ended up being 33 because that was actually more convenient to make work) different results not to mention drawing all the pokemon. So yeah that was a lot. Especially since I hadn’t even drawn most of them before. But when I finished I was surprisingly happy with the results and it honestly helped me to get back into drawing frequently. And sure they didn’t all look good(treeko. Treeko does not look good) but I was really proud of the fact that I just committed to it. So I have decided to share all the drawings I did for this quiz game.

So little fun thing but I am (actually it's currently on hiatus for the summer break) running a pokemon mystery dungeon themed tabletop campaign for some friends at my college and I did some silly sprites of their characters!

I actually did ten sprites for each character but I'll share some of my faves under the break

I just picked two that I liked from each set BUT I love my players very much and I rly hope that they enjoyed these little sprite images once they saw them tbh. I do not know if they know this but the fact that they're actually enjoying my silly campaign means the absolute world to me and seeing them engage in the world I created is. So so so exciting and fun and I hope to resume the game once we all are back on campus.

Happy PMD Day <3 Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Blue Rescue Team is a very special game to me - I used to spend every day of summer on a new save file and get to Rayquaza by the end of each day, and start over the next. Explorers of Sky was the first time I started getting Eevee as my Pokemon Im not as happy with the remake of Rescue Team but its still so dear to me <3

While I was thinking of future weird traits and backstories for Pokemon Adventures Protagonists to have, I had one that was simultaneously cool and also really silly.

Make one of them a Pokemon from the Mystery Dungeon universe that gets reverse-isekai'd from their universe into the Pokemon Adventures universe and becomes a human.

And this is more my sense of humour than the typical Pokespe tone, but imagine them dealing with the concept of humans capturing and using Pokemon in battle, haha.
