Aldrik would've been on the debate team in high school you cannot convince me otherwise.
Vhalla would be in Quiz Bowl (trivia competition, I think the name varies regionally).

🔹The Sirians🔹 Talon Abraxas
Uncovering Your Cosmic Origins: Traits, Gifts & Soul Mission of Sirian Starseeds on Earth
The Sirius Star System: Home of Sirian Starseeds
Sirius binary star system located approximately 8.7 light years from Earth in the Canis Major constellation. Comprises Sirius A, the brightest star visible in the night sky, and a smaller white dwarf Sirius B orbiting Sirius A. Sirius B was once a larger, brighter star than Sirius A in the distant past before evolving into a white dwarf.
Sirius is known by many names in ancient Earth cultures including “Dog Star” and “Nile Star.” Egyptians based the calendar on Sirius helical rising coinciding with the Nile annual flooding. Marked winter season for Polynesians and chronicled in ancient Vedic scriptures.
Sirius A believed inhabited by highly advanced spiritual beings focused on overseeing the ascension of the Sirius system itself. Sirius B original home of Sirian starseeds before the system underwent cosmic evolution. Sirians from advanced water planets were forced to evacuate when Sirius B transformed from a gaseous state into a white dwarf star. Although the home world forever changed, spiritual wisdom and technologies survived to pass down ensuing generations.
The Soul Mission of Sirian Starseeds on Earth
What drives Sirians to voluntarily incarnate on Earth again and again even when the planet is still so chaotic and dense? Each starseed has an overarching mission guiding its incarnations, though the specifics will vary. Here are some of the core objectives behind the Sirian Starseed soul contracts:
Activate higher dimensional portals and light grids on Earth’s power points and sacred sites. Sirians are encoded with advanced sacred geometrical information and wisdom from Atlantis which can energize and stabilize the crystalline grid now rising.
Anchor light and frequency through their energy field and presence. By simply existing in a high vibration of love, gratitude, and inner peace, they raise the resonance of their environment and touch all souls they contact.
Awaken humanity to its true origins, unlimited potential, and purpose for being here now. Sirians remind us of our divine nature and push us to expand our limited beliefs.
Prepare humanity for open contact with the galactic community of benevolent interstellar civilizations. Sirians educate people on ETs and bridge the gap between human and cosmic perspectives.
Teach advanced technology and innovation to be responsibly integrated for the planet’s greater good. As technically skilled as they are spiritually adept, Sirians guide how humanity can evolve through technology without misusing it.
Be spiritual teachers, healers, and leaders who reveal higher truths and inspire people to live in harmony, peace, and unity. Their wisdom and grace touch people’s hearts.
Protect and speak up for the vulnerable, oppressed, excluded, or environment. Sirians act from a place of selfless compassion that honors all life.
Help shift humanity out of duality consciousness, fear-based programming, and rigid belief systems by embodying Unconditional Love and unity consciousness.
As multidimensional light beings, Sirians work on many levels and domains to uplift humanity’s understanding and play a pivotal role at this incredible time in our planet’s ascension process.

So, I lost access to my main fanart and fanfic blog (No, don't send me tips, I'm already working on it), which means in the meantime, I'm gonna post this little character interaction practice here. Also, I'm specifically lobbing this over at @emuwarum and @potnialabyrinthoio95 since you guys encouraged me and are now doomed to me throwing random thoughts and things at you.
(Notes: Idyia = "Feathers", my Blue Song oc Rubra-Harenas = "Sands", my Kindred of the Tusk oc I kinda use more modern language in this mostly because I'm just always tired these days and it's easier for me. And I based how I think the Blue Song would cool off in high temperatures off the little family of Carolina Wrens I would watch on our porch during the over 90 F and 90% humidity heat waves we get in the summer.)
Rubra-Harenas had to admit, if only to himself, that he may have underestimated the little chronicler. As they traveled through The Endless Sands, he had expected the fragile looking Saurian to at least start complaining like Tusken children did on long journeys. If not out right become ill from the intense sun and heat. Yet the most she did in regards to the hot environment was alert Rubra-Harenas before stopping, hopping off her Carnotaurus mount before snapping off her armor cuirass and any arm armor she bothered to put back on, and then… Puffing out her feathers, crouching closer to the ground, and seeming to pant for a few seconds. She then would shake herself out, snap the cuirass back in place while her feathers settled back down, and jump back up into the saddle. She never said anything else about… whatever that had been, just simply let Rubra-Harenas know to start moving again. He had watched this odd behavior in silence, utterly baffled by it but determinedly not asking about it.
He assumed it was better to avoid any unnecessary arguments if he could help it.
He hadn’t been doing as good of a job when it came to hiding his confused staring, apparently. Idyia hadn’t mentioned it at all for the first few days, but finally she couldn’t keep it to herself.
“I can feel your confusion from all the way down here, you know.” Idyia said as she replaced the cuirass. She glanced up just in time to catch him startling at her statement. Her mouth twitched up at the corners and an amused snort slipped out. Rubra-Harenas frowned in response and a small rumble formed in his chest.
“Your Blue Song rituals ARE confusing,” he answered.
“Our rituals?” Now Idyia was truly grinning as she climbed back up into the saddle. “Trying to keep cool is a ritual now?”
“How is THAT-?!?” Rubra-Harenas sputtered, hand waving back down to where she had just been crouching to explain what he was referring to. She started to softly laugh, bringing a fist up in front of her beak as if to hide the noise. He huffed in slight annoyance and cut off the rest of what he was going to say. She seemed to catch his irritation.
“You don’t have feathers, of course you wouldn’t do that,” Idyia muttered mostly to herself, before relenting. “It really is just to make sure I don’t faint from the heat. I get the feeling you wouldn’t appreciate being slowed down any.”
Rubra-Harenas studied her for a moment, trying to decide if she was mocking him or not, before humming and nudging his Allosaurus to start moving again. Idyia followed suit, gently scratching her mount behind its horns as well as a reward for waiting for her.
They traveled in silence for while.
“…I am… Confused as to why you haven’t complained or so much as mention the heat before now,” Rubra-Harenas admitted. “Even with your Embassy built on the edge of Solaris, you haven’t been under the suns like we have. I would think you shouldn’t be able to handle it as well as you have been…” He stole a glance at her, gauging what her reaction was going to be. Another Kindred Brother might have been insulted, taking his words as an insinuation of weakness.
The little chronicler, however, had raised her brows slightly before looking considering. She hummed as she turned over his words in her head.
“…Well, it’s not as if complaining about it is going to change the temperature,” Idyia slowly answered. “…But… I think I might have just… Not really thought too much about it? Not given it much notice? If I’m not about to over heat, I mean. And even then I just tell you to stop for a moment.” It looked like she hadn’t even realized she hadn’t mentioned the heat or sun the way Rubra-Harenas (or anyone else) would have expected her to. “I… I guess I’ve just been too distracted to even think about complaining.”
“Distracted…”
“Yes,” Idyia nodded. “It might not be that noticeable to you since it’s your home, but the Endless Sands is so fascinating!” Rubra-Harenas blinked, surprised.
“Fascinating?”
“I wasn’t aware I had an echo traveling with me.” Idyia quipped with a tiny smirk, and he rumbled at her. “But it is! At first glance, it looks completely barren and lifeless, yet I haven’t seen us travel more than a step without there being some type of insect or wildlife tracks in the sands beside us! Look, see?” She pointed out just slightly ahead of them and off to the right where, sure enough, tiny reptilian prints skittered across the sand. Mixing and crossing with that set were other various patterns left by beetles, spiders, more tiny reptiles, and a few that weren’t immediately identifiable.
“And! And there’s the patches of grasses and shrubs and-! And other plants I’ve never seen before! Only ever read about! You would think there wouldn’t be ANY plants out here, but there’s so much!” She went on, excitement leaking into her voice and she was unconsciously moving her right hand around to mimic plants’ growth as she talked. “There were bunches of flowers! Flowers! Not even close to any obvious water source, and they were so pretty!” Rubra-Harenas released a rough chuckle at her enthusiasm. The noise seemed to bring her back down slightly, as she stopped moving her hand around and shifted back into a more ‘proper’ posture. She shot him a glance and sheepish little smile.
“…Also, well… Before I came over to the main land, I’d never seen the sun as much as I do now.” Idyia added, scratching just under the strange growth (her third eye but Rubra-Harenas didn’t know that yet) on her left side. “It’s nice.”
“…Wait, what?” Rubra-Harenas straightened up when her words registered. “Why couldn’t you see the sun before you came here?”
“It wasn’t like I had never seen the sun before!” Idyia laughed. “Just not nearly as much. And because of all the rain, of course.”
“…What.”
She blinked at him. “…All the rain? It’s- Oh.” She blinked at him again before facing forward. “How am I supposed to explain…? Uh…Hmmm…” She trailed off, frowning and thinking hard. She put her left hand to her beak as she did.
Rubra-Harenas frowned as a small voice in his own head whispered that she was trying to figure out how to explain… whatever she wanted to explain because- like all other Blue Song- she believed him to be just an unintelligent animal.
“Okay… So… You’ve travelled outside of the Endless Sands, right?” Idyia asked. He nodded.
“Have you spent any of the rainy seasons outside the Sands as well?” He nodded again. “So you know how those rainy seasons are much longer than those in the Sands, right?”
“Is this going somewhere or are we just stating obvious facts?”
“I’m getting to it, I’m getting to it!” Idyia placated. “Just…Making sure you know other places tend to experience longer rainy seasons than the Endless Sands.” He rolled his eyes.
“Back home, we have rainy seasons that last almost the entire year.” Idyia finally explained. “It’s not that unusual to go weeks without getting to see the sun. Sometimes, the sun may break through the clouds while it’s still raining but only for brief periods at a time.”
Rubra-Harenas openly stared at her with wide eyes. She held his gaze and patiently waited for him to reply.
“…Nope. No, you’re lying to me. There is no way that is the truth.” He finally shook his head.
“I’m not lying!” Idyia laughed and defended her claim. “It is true!”
“No. Absolutely not. How could any Saurian live like that?”
“The same way a Saurian can live in the middle of the desert, I suppose!”
“No! The desert doesn’t try to DROWN you!”
“We don’t drown! As long as you stay away from the flood zones of the rivers, that is.”
“SEE?!?”
Idyia couldn’t help herself and kept laughing at his incredulous response. “Tell you what Rubra-Harenas, once we finish up with the Forefather ruins, I’ll take you back over to the Pluvian Rainforest one day and you can see for yourself.”
“Should that day ever come, you best be prepared for the consequences of lying to me.”
“I’m not lying!”
Rubra-Harenas shook his head and turned away from her as she continued giggling. She rolled her eyes but remained grinning for a long time after that conversation.

Introducing the Collector’s and Archivists’s parents
Tumblr media
Rigel - The Curator
An imposing, austere, yet stoic majestic celestial. Rigel’s assigned purpose is to inspect archives and their collections for damages and authenticity of the specimens. During a constellation gathering, he meets Elidi, an Overseer. He found her alluring, which surprised him. He self-contemplation himself before approaching her. Something sparked between them and went on of being together.
He later become a father of six children, but not with the some being.
Elidi - The Overseer
An elegant, devious, yet vindictive celestial. Elidi’s assigned purpose was to supervises Nebulas and their duties. During a constellation gathering, she caught the attention of a stoic majestic celestial, Rigel. Something sparked between them and went on of being together, to very much to her liking. She’ll later become the wife / lover of Rigel and the mother of their children: The Archivists.
However, her marvellously life came crashing down when she noticed glowing cracks on her arms: a sign of supernoving. She didn’t believe that she was gonna to supernova. It was assured, she was 1,000 years old, she was too young to supernova. She and Rigel went to see a Solaris if they can prevent it, only to be informed that there’s nothing they can do to prevent it. They told her that she has about a week. She was furious, depended them to developed a way to prevent it. They told it would be impossible for a way to be created in a short time. Rigel had to hold her back from attacking the Solaris and took her home.
A week later, she was sent away, miles from her family to supernova.
Asterope - The Chronicler
A competitive reserved, yet quirky celestial. Asterope’s assigned purpose is to document accounts of important events  such as evolution changes on planets or a birth of a celestial. She keeps her own personal journal for write anything else that she found interesting to her.
While attending an opening of a new archive, a specimen escaped. The specimen landed on her, but she didn’t notice it at first. Unannounced to her, a celestial was rapidly approaching behind her. Next she knew, a net was thrown over her and she was dragged across the floor. She looked up to see a tall bewildered celestial staring down at her. The two stared at each other until the specimen began to tried to escape from the net. The celestial summoned a small crescent moon and shot it at the specimen, which the specimen transformed into a crystal statue. She was released from the net and then gotten on her feet. The celestial before her stared at her for a moment before he leaves with the specimen without saying a word.
Ever since then, Asterope couldn’t get the image of that celestial out of her mind. Why she was so intrigued about him? She contemplated on what action to take on this manner. After some thought, she decided to pay him a visit.
Her meeting him again will led her becoming Rigel’s second wife / lover and the mother of Esther and Collector.

(this is the longer old intro post, here's the condensed new one! https://www.tumblr.com/notsolaris/777823927139434496)
nobody’s going to need this ever but i’m bored so i’m gonna make an introduction post thingy because why the hell not
some general stuff about me: my name’s solaris or sol, and i’m 16. i’m aroace and agender, and any pronouns are fine (this includes neos, get creative if you want). there’s like an 80% chance i’ll follow you back if you follow me, and feel free to message me/send me asks or tag me in stuff :3
(more under the cut)
some not-so-general stuff about me, aka my interests (i’ll try and somewhat categorize this, there’s a fuck ton):
games/game-adjacent fandoms: fnaf, minecraft, evbo, grian’s life series, studio investigrave, little nightmares, mouthwashing, undertale, deltarune
books/movies: percy jackson, harry potter (yes i know, jkr’s a bitch, still like the series though), the chronicles of narnia, the hunger games, the 39 clues, star wars, pirates of the caribbean, the mcu, spiderverse, scarlet witch, young avengers, batfam, flash
(there’s plenty of other movies i’m into but they aren’t in series and if i listed them all it would make this part a lot longer so…i’m not going to)
shows: gravity falls, hannibal, doctor who, scott pilgrim, lego monkie kid, ramshackle, the amazing digital circus, arcane, heartstopper, danny phantom, hazbin hotel, helluva boss (another yes i know, i don’t like vivziepop but i do still like the shows)
music: tally hall, miracle musical, chonny jash, will wood, lemon demon, jhariah, vocaloid, will stetson, assorted musicals
non-fandom things i guess: singing, drawing, writing, my ocs i love them so much i am so normal about them, space, psychology, mountain dew, rubik’s cubes
i’m not really sure what else to put here so i’ll give a few fun facts about me :3
- i can solve a rubik’s cube in 15 seconds and have an overflowing box full of them.
- i have somewhere in the range of 40-50 hoodies. this is not an exaggeration, i don’t want to know how much i’ve spent on hoodies.
- my favorite colors are dark purple and dark green. think really dark, chances are what popped into your head isn’t dark enough.
- i am 5’0. i am tiny. it is very unfortunate, all my friends are taller and make fun of me.
- i collect things such as mountain dew bottles and cans, dnd dice, and playing cards. also star wars action figures from the 80s-90s that used to belong to my dad. and plushies. a lot of plushies.
- i took recorder lessons for six years.
if anyone actually read this, congratulations. you get a cookie :3

Just a heads up as far as comic stories are concerned
If you ever get into the stories and want to get into it's lore but it's taking ages for a page to be posted...just a friendly reminder...i have a...LOT! of stuff cooking up.
I have story ideas waiting to be shown to the world since I was at least 13 or 15 years old...and since I'm a grown ass 26 year old..I've been working on them slowly but surely both old and new comic ideas.
Here are the following.
Sonic the Hedgehog: SOLARIS Z3R0 6
my most Recent story and first ever Sonic based Fan fiction comic that is an Action adventure story.
Tumblr media
another recent called The Journey to the West: Retold
After reading and seeing the videos from Overly Sarcastic Productions..i got a little bit fixated on, so I decided to make my take on the Monkey king .
Tumblr media
next being part of my own zone
One called The Otherworld.
A Fantasy Adventure story about a group of heroes who encounter a human who is not from Their world and is now going to be a part of a destined path that will effect both worlds.
Tumblr media
next story is a Sci-fi adventure of my own take called Space Chronicles.
About a Faerie, a robot, two Outlaws, two bounty hunters sisters, a stranded explorer, a green plant girl, a crazy super solider on the run, a jewel thief and her badass blind swordsman,va girl frozen From time, a purple raccoon boy and a cute white ball that only speaks "epp".
Each of them meet by chance as they are sent on a journey to the cosmos to unlock a secret that may change the universe.
Tumblr media
And finally (for now)
My first ever Story I thought up back in my younger years
The Monster Hunters.
It's a Supernatural action, adventure story about a girl meeting a boy....only to lead to a series of thrills, mystery , monsters and magic and crazy situations that lead to them having to team up along with others to protect and save the world from it's dark side.
Tumblr media
So yeah, just in case if you are ever curious on what is taking me so long to do one story.. remember that I am cooking a LOT
Tumblr media
So what do you think?
Which one are you looking forward to?

Unpopular opinion: praising a product for its potential is not a compliment in the slightest. Everything has potential. Everything has the chance to be great, with the right time and care. But ultimately, the final product is what has to be judged.
That being said, there is a difference between judging something for its more objective qualities or flaw, and judging it based on the amount of personal enjoyment it brought you - which yes, might involve thinking on how you would have tackled said product. You can say "I know it's bad but I had fun with it and its flaws inspired my creativity", as much as you can say "objectively I have nothing to criticize but it didn't suit my tastes". Just try to keep the two perspectives separate.
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
The first part is why I refuse to be swayed by all the attempts to paint '06 as a hidden masterpiece, and that Colours and Generations were somehow the TRUE descent of the franchise. Because a lot of what they say about '06 ultimately boils down to "it's good, it just needed to be a little more good". Wow, such insight, but too bad for them, the hypothetical is not what myself and everyone else paid for.
Yes, there are some things I admit to liking in theory: Solaris is one of the more interesting monsters conceptually, and I think Elise is a good character who simply had the bad luck of being misused. I'm not staunchly averse to giving '06 credit for anything that's not the soundtrack... but I don't pretend its not '06; despite feeling more personal distaste for Frontiers nowadays, for reasons you are well familiar with by now, I still consider '06 the objective worst in the series due to how it affected Sonic in the eyes of fans and non-fans alike... well, Chronicles is tied with '06 cause of how blatantly trashy that game is, but you get my drift.
As for your second point, there are plenty of things that are relevant to me with both of those perspectives. On one hand, Wrath of Cortex is an alright game but is mainly just Crash 3.5, and Enter the Dragonfly only requires taking one look at it to see it's not a complete product, but I've always liked both of them regardless because I think they have a lot of appealing concepts going for them. Then there's the funny edgelord bang bang black hedgehog game, which I'm always ready to criticise (like '06, it too is not suddenly perfect storytelling just because the Fuck Pontaff brigade says so), but just as ready to praise the levels and missions I like, the scenes I think are good... or "good" (:P), the soundtrack as always, and of course, the depth and complexity of Black "Citizen Kane" Doom.
On the other hand, there are several popular games, shows, etc - none of which I'll bother naming this time around because I don't feel like getting my ass kicked verbally today - that I don't consider bad objectively, but they either don't interest me or turn me away for one reason or another. Or their fandoms hype them up too much.

Why did I render this🧍‍♀️
Anyways here’s Resh
Also a bit of a side note
I’ve been thinking about it and I want to change the kind of role he plays in my Sky AU story (which I have now call the Solaris Chronicles) I’m gonna try and make him more of a redeemable villain and stuff instead of just being pure evil since I feel that it’s way more interesting and I feel would make the relationship he has with Dawn and the other Elders more interesting. I definitely feel that Silco from arcane inspired this change

Vi: Something is... Off... About Andru...
Andru: is just gay and autistic and possibly anxious
Girlie just hasn't ever met a neurodivergent person before lmao 😭
(I'm not certain how canon Andru's autism is but it's a head canon I wholeheartedly believe in)

(Disclaimer, all critiques thrown at Tumblr user alteredsilicone, otherwise known as Artie, are made with comedic intent and are exaggerated for the sake of comedy. Me and her are, at least from my POV, great friends and I only intend to entertain with my sarcastic quips aimed at her)
Welcome once again, fellow Tenno, to an oc showcase!
This time we have a perfect example of @alteredsilicone 's "parenting skills" (aka Child Neglect), Camelia Meister (as pictured above by her mother back when she gave a damn about Camelia)
In case it wasn't obvious, this oc is hers, but given that Artie so callously abbandoned Camelia, I'll be the father that stepped up and take her in as my very own void kid.
So some information (will change eventually, this is just the current vibe) :
Camelia is a bubbly, electric-themed Main Character Tenno (in other words she's currently the protagonist Tenno, the one who tames Umbra, completes all of the quests, etc. Combining that with her allgnment being eclipse, we can see that currently, shes a bit of a (excuse my French) 'slice of white bread'.
Her current (pun not intended) Warframes are Volt Prime (from before the Awakening), Nova Prime (After Awakening) and Gyre (post AOTZ), with her drifter also having a few favorites who for the sake of being concise, shall be ommitted. I plan to keep this entarauge going forward, however I will give Gyre to Drifter Camelia, as not only does it set up a good Drifter Operator contrast, but it also makes sense considering drifter's ties the Zariman.
Speaking of her drifter, I am dissappoined to say that, as of right now, her very vigilant mother (obvious sarcasm is obvious) decided not to give drifter Camelia any backstory to speak of, thus it shall fall to me to give her one once the time is right. Also worth noting is how operator Camelia is not alligned with any of the 6 syndicates, instead focusing her goodie-two-shoes nature on helping the Ostron and Solaris people (btw, did anyone else hear a ragged whisper calling Artie a "coward who couldn't commit her darling daughter to a single interesting idea due to her being the mc"? No, just me?)
Some early explorations on how I intend to season her character (aka make her into anything other than a cardboard cutout with pink electricity symbols scribbled on it with crayons) include:
-Making her follow New Loka and Perrin (the former because feel like shed be genuinely that kindhearted not to realize theyre luteral eco-fascists, and the latter definitely not because I want to terrorize Artie's new golden child, Viri, with the sins of her maker's past)
- New War induced Trauma
- Making her drifter a nuisance (as I often do) , and potentially give her some ties to Sythel and Mathila (cause peppy and electricity, plus theres some cool themeing you could draw from those two emotions)
- Maker her an exciteable little rapscallion who ends up electrifying hordes due to the sheer power of enjoying life
-Have her interact with The Chronicler (cool parallel, and nice dynamic given their contrasting traits
So yea, thats about it, feel free to leave any opinions you may have in the notes, and I wish you all a good day!
And also, Artie, if youre reading this which I assume you are, you owe me child support in the form of giving me a piece of drifter Camelia art for future reference .
🔫 This is a threat (polite request for a doodle you need not adhere to)

The Starfarer Chronicles Chapter 1.5
01–01–408 GSC, Kadath
The Wanderer sat down with a huff. Fucking Solari, sending him down into an infinite hell to get a piece of technology. And of course, the Fusion Cell had its parts knocked out of place. And because the manufacturer was cheap, the access panel was a pain to remove.
After a minute of fumbling to get a grip, The Wanderer tore the panel off with a loud grunt, falling back slightly.
“Suck it bitch.” He declared to the inanimate object, getting to work immediately. Man, everything really was knocked out of place, yet everything is still intact. Score!
As he pulled out the wires, contemplating what he would do with the bonus for it being so intact, he noticed a fast approaching light being reflected off of the mechanical guts strewn about. The Wanderer himself had the gift of See-In-Darkness, so he hadn't come with a light, wishing to avoid attracting any predators, which meant only one thing.
On instinct, heart hammering, The Wanderer grabbed one of their Blaster pistols from their waist, twirling around, and pointing it at the person that was running up to them.
“Tell me who you are and what you want, or I'll shoot.” The Wanderer announced in a stern voice, finger already on the trigger.
Despite his pessimism, the Stranger wasn't particularly threatening. In fact, under different circumstances, The Wanderer might have found them cute.
They were short. Very short. Even sitting down cross-legged, he came up to their shoulders. They were wearing blue robes with gold edges, a purple scarf wrapped around their head and neck. All of it was clearly several sizes too big for them, giving them a baggy appearance only counteracted by the satchel they had slung across their shoulder. Glowing, blue-within-blue eyes stared from above the scarf, a clear spark of excitement visible while their cat ears stood to attention, poking tents into their hood. Their brown tail went this way and that. A small ball of fire hovered behind their shoulder, being the source of the light in the room.
The Stranger finished running up to him, coming to stand about a meter away from him. Their large eyes stared at his Blaster in utter fascination, seemingly unfazed by his demand.
“Tell me who you are, and what you want, or I'll shoot.” The Wanderer repeated harshly. He'd rather not kill this person, but he hoped the second time would get them to cooperate.
The newcomer turned their eyes from the gun towards him, clearly recognizing the annoyance in his voice. “AAABABA!”
That was not the answer The Wanderer was expecting. What in the ever living hell was that? Was this person trying to mess with him?
The Stranger was clearly happy, almost like a kid answering a question. And either they didn't care that he was still pointing his gun at them, or, as he was beginning to suspect, didn't understand. They got on their hands and knees, coming over to investigate the Fusion Cell in front of him.
Well, at least they're not touching it. He thought, reaching for the tool he needed. Honestly, The Wanderer was almost done with the repairs anyways. He went about putting each individual part where it was supposed to go, clicking it into place, before moving on to the next part or wire. The whole time, the seemingly feral cave child watched with intense interest, their eyes never once deviating from the process.
When the last part was in place, The Wanderer put the access plate back on, and scooped the Fusion Cell under his arm as he got up. As he did so, the Stranger got up and followed him with none of the same practiced grace as he.
The Stranger followed him, a few steps behind, their eyes practically glued to him. He kept swiveling his head around to look at them, hand hovering over his gun.
After several minutes of walking in silence, the pair arrived at the ramp The Wanderer used to get down to here. At a little under 3 meters wide, it had plenty of room for him and his unusual companion.
After the first bend, the Stranger rummaged through their satchel, pulling out a Nutrient Brick, the soft crinkle of the wrapper filling the air. Huh, I didn't know there were any Synthesizers around here. So that's how they survived.
“So, how long have you been down here? I assume a while since you have a whole bag of the Bricks. Any run-ins with some manner of beastie?”
The Stranger took another mouthful of Brick, staring at him while they noisily chewed. “Abapō amamama.”
Yeah, this kid can't talk. The Wanderer thought with a dry laugh. Not unless random gibberish counts.
The Stranger seemed confused for a moment, and after scarfing down another mouthful of semisolid nutrients, tried again. “Aglam iqorsh ass.”
It was still gibberish, but the fact the last one happened to be “ass” made The Wanderer explode with laughter. The Stranger kept babbling incoherently all the way up the rest of the ramp. As they exited, the Carbon Guard stood around them, their armor painted in matching colors. The gang's leader stepped up.
“Ah, you've returned. We were wondering if you'd be here on time, considering where the wreck is.”
The Wanderer held the cell in their hand, ignoring the comment. “I brought the Fusion Cell back in perfect, working condition. Give me my bonus pay like you said you would.”
The leader's face was hidden behind His helmet, but The Wanderer could feel the frustration coming from the trollish leader as he was ignored. He took the cell and started fiddling with it. After he removed and returned the access plate to confirm what The Wanderer said, he nodded in agreement. It was at this time that he noticed the Stranger.
“Who is this?” He asked, voice subtly harder, pointing at the Stranger, who ‘eeped’ and got behind the Wanderer immediately. Turning to look at them, he saw that the Stranger's uncaring attitude had evaporated. Where there was once curiosity, there was now unease and fear.
“Don't worry Solari. I found them down in the tunnels. Can't understand a word.”
“This wasn't part of the deal Raj. We never said anything about paying 2 people.”
“The deal was you paid me for getting a Fusion Cell your friend lost down in the tunnels, extra if it was in working condition. I have gotten you the cell in working condition. They don't change anything about the trade.”
The Leader tossed the cell back to one of their companions, hands grabbing the rifle dangling on his side from his shoulders. “Don't bullshit me. I can see their eyes, they're a mutie freak! And is that a ball of fire behind them? A mage too!?”
Just as Raj, the Wanderer was about to grab his gun, the largest member of the gang came up and grabbed his leader.
“He's right. He has done as we asked, and now honor demandss we pay him.” The Vesk spoke, his deep voice hissing slightly as his accent slipped through.
As the Leader turned to face his gang, he saw the others were clearly unhappy with his reaction. “Fine. Here's your credits, with bonus.”
He held out a fist full of thin, small silver bars. Credsticks.
Raj happily and quietly took them, and swiftly pocketed them. Money attained and the Carbon Guard walking away towards their hovercraft, their backs facing them and showing the gang's logo, Raj turned to his companion.
“Well, I can't just leave you here, now can I?” He sighed tiredly. “Don't worry, the nearest Tubeway Station isn't that far.”
The Stranger looked up at him, their brows knitted in confusion.
========================
Raj sat in his seat, fiddling with his wrist mounted computer. His fingers danced across the screen, bringing up his list of contacts. After only a few seconds of aggressive scrolling, he got to the one he was looking for. After listening to it ringing for 30 seconds, a click sounded, followed by a rustling and some muffled talking.
“Sorry about that, kids wanted to talk. Whatcha need Raj?”
“I need your help with getting someone a home.”
“Another orphan?”
“I'm not sure. I ran into them down in the tunnels while on a job. Poor thing has a severe case of Tunnel Sickness. Any attempt at talking is literally just random noises.”
There was silence. “Are you sure it's a good idea to give them to us? You know how bad sufferers can be overstimulated.”
“Believe me, I know.” He stated, looking over at the Stranger next to him. Almost as soon as the pair had finally reached the city proper, the Stranger had gone quiet.
They had their knees up to their chest, sleeves emptied. Their tail curled over to cover their feet, fur wiggling with their toes. Despite it all, their eyes bounced around, looking at everything excitedly, ears whipping around wildly at every sound.
How could he blame them? After being in the tunnels for long enough, the brain becomes sensitive to outside stimuli. And the Tubeway Pod had plenty of stimuli to give, due to the overcrowding that always occurs around 1600 hours.
A Kasatha monk stood serenely amongst a group of angry teenagers. An elven mother who looked like she hadn't slept in 3 years tried to quiet her baby. An Ork in a pink dress thumbed through a book titled “How to Honourably Garden”. A group of adventurers were planning whatever chaos they were going to get into next. A gaseous lifeform that smelled like rotten eggs in an environmental suit was referencing a map.
And those were just their immediate neighbors.
“I'm gonna try and help them at least start recovering, then I figured you and the girls could handle the rest. I'm not the best choice to handle this.”
“Fair enough.” She purred. “Well, can I at least get a description so we can plan ahead?”
“1.4 meters tall, 42 kg, mage, bl—”
Raj stopped as he heard laughter through his comms. “I'm sorry, you sound like you're reading a wanted poster, I'm still not used to it!” She guffawed.
“No it's okay, I do sound like that. It's just kinda how I talk. Usually.” He stated, slight inflection on the last word.
“Okay, I think I'm good. Anything else of note?”
“Other than clothes and the aforementioned tunnel sickness? Not much, but it's also been only an hour or two.”
“Any particular reason for liking this one so much?”
“Because when I look into their eyes…” He said as he looked down at the young mage. They looked up at him with their big, glowing blue eyes. Despite the obvious catching quality, it was the spark of intelligence there that usually wasn't there with cases this bad that stood out. “I see something that's unexpected. I'm not sure their mind has completely gone.”
“Hmm… I want to see them soon then. I know a few spells that could help.”
“Agreed. I'll make sure they can talk before we pick a day.”
“Agree—” BANG “Ssssshit, what was that? Damn kids, talk later.” Click, and the voice was gone.
Raj waved his hand in irritation, frustrated at Luck's intervention. Figures.
The Pod doors swooshed open shortly after, allowing the passengers to disembark. Raj waited for things to thin out before he grabbed the Stranger. Normally, he’d be more reluctant to handle someone in such a delicate mental state, but the Stranger clearly liked it before when he carried them onto the pod, so it was safe to assume carrying them off would be ok.
Lo and behold, his guess was right. They clung to him like a drowning rat clinging to wood. Still, they looked around at their surroundings with unending curiosity and excitement.
The Pod was bad, but the streets weren’t much better. A Cosmopolis like this is the worst place to be if one has sensory issues. But, he didn’t have a choice. His ship was at the docks, and without the money to afford a transporter, he had to walk.
The Stranger whimpered as a stage magician conjured a gout of fire as part of their performance. Raj held the Stranger slightly tighter. “It’s ok. We’re almost home, and then you can relax.”
Almost on cue, The docks loomed over them, Raj’s ship visible from where they stood at the base.
