Tiny Town Challenge Expanded - The Sims 3

The inspiration for this challenge came from Deligracy's Tiny Town challenge for The Sims 4 (Original rules HERE). I loved the idea of the challenge, but The Sims 3 has a huge advantage: it already has an open world, so the houses didn't need to be restricted to one lot, but instead, we could build a real community. That's why, in addition to translating, I took some time to adapt it in the best possible way to everything that TS3 offers us.

I kept the characteristics of the Sims from the original challenge as best as I could, but adapted them to keep them as "autonomous" as possible.

I have all the expansions and stuff packs, so feel free to do only what fits into what you already have in your game and/or adapt it as best you can.

When I saw the Stardew Valley map by @boringbones, I felt this would be a perfect match! You don't have to start on the same map as me, but I strongly suggest you start on a tiny or small mapto really have the proximity between the lots and, even better, if it's empty so you can populate it as you play with the Sims.

I'm just starting to play this challenge, so not all the rules have been tested. I will adapt as needed and welcome suggestions.

The Goal

The goal of this challenge is to build a town with tiny houses for up to 16 Sims (depending on whether you want to use mods or not or which packs you own) that match their desires and skills.

The Stardew Valley map can be purchased here (link for download).

The Rundown

Each Sim has a set skill that you must utilize to fund the construction of their tiny home. For example, Frank Stem likes flower arranging, so you must sell flower arrangements to fund his Tiny House build.

You must also represent each Sim's favorite style and color in the build (see the Sim characters below). You can only work on one Sim's house at a time, moving each Sim in individually as you "unlock" them.

To "unlock" the next Sim, you must complete the previous Sim's home.

How to Play

Start by moving your first Sim into a lot of your choice.

To select your first Sim, you can use an online randomizer or simply choose your favorite.

After moving your first Sim in, use a money cheat to set the Sim's money to $0.

Each Sim should start on their lot with their skill item of choice and some useful items. They also start with a sleeping bag (requires Generations), a mini fridge, and an All-in-One Bathroom (requires Island Paradise, Into the Future, or Movie Stuff). Feel free to adjust these items if you don't have the necessary packs. After placing these items on the lot, set the money back to $0.

After finding your skill items, start earning Simoleons by selling your creations!

Use this money to build your Sim's tiny home!

Since we don't have a sales table in The Sims 3 like we do in The Sims 4, I suggest that all collectibles and creations be sold at the consignment store (requires: NRAAS Consigner - [link HERE]).

Extra Rules and Ideas

Your Sims can contribute to community areas to help other neighbors when they move in and to create a pleasant sense of community and lifestyle. Ideas could be a shared laundry, bathroom, BBQ area, garden, central square, pool, etc.

As you play, your town will grow and your community will become fuller. When you reach the last Sim, you can go back to playing with the first family, and here, my suggestion would be to put everyone in a rotational household using Story Progression and evolve with each family.

If you don't have all the necessary packs, feel free to alter the challenge to suit the packs you have, or use the base game features. There are many ways to make money, including tasks like collecting valuable objects or careers.

You can play on any lifespan, but I suggest playing on epic or disabling aging altogether to get the most out of your Sims.

According to the original rules, you can use cheats, rewards, and anything else to make it easier, but keep in mind that the easier you make it for yourself, the less challenging it will be!

Decor Style: Rustic and Provençal. Imagine a French country house, with worn wooden furniture, floral fabrics, soft pastel tones, and many elements that refer to nature, such as fresh flowers and wicker baskets.

Skill - Alchemy (Supernatural)

Decor Style: Gothic and Mysterious. Think of an alchemy lab filled with old books, jars of colorful liquids, candles, mystical objects, and dark wood furniture with metal details.

Have fun! You can change and adapt the rules as needed. The goal here is to have a lot of fun with the best game ever! So feel free to explore everything a truly open world has to offer.

THE SIMS 4: BARBIE Decades Challenge!

As an aspiring Barbie connoisseur, it gives me great JOY to present this challenge , HUGELY inspired by @sim-himbo Barbie Legacy Challenge and @liyaahgee Urban Barbie Legacy

Barbie has been around since 1959 till now ( 7 generations ) , And adding decades and Barbie lore to the Sims 4 as a challenge would be fun!

All heirs must be named Barbie - optional for generation seven (non-heir children may have any name expect when classified )

You may use the freerealestatecheat for your first house, but try not to use money cheats after that!

You are allowed and encouraged to use lot traits and reward traits to boost skill gain, anything that’s in-game is fair game.

Must refer to Barbie dolls and history - Barbies By Year - Toy Sisters and dress up according to decade.

Must have a pet/pets in each generation.

You are encouraged to use mods - mods needed would be stated.

The race , colour, gender and pronouns of Barbie/Ken/siblings/cousin/friends - DOES NOT MATTER or have to be accurate to THE Barbie lore .

The theme for this was chosen via poll and I had so much fun seeing what everyone picked! I don't know why I was so surprised that "families" won because I wasn't sure what I expected to win 😆

Sims 4 “Oregon Trail” Challenge (BACC)

Inspired by playing Oregon Trail on the Switch recently with my family as well as the Homestead Challenge for Sims 2 by child_of_air, I wanted to create a historical build a community challenge (BACC) with references to the Oregon Trail game (ie, river crossings, death by illness, new pioneers arriving by wagon train, etc). The below are guidelines for play, many adapted from the Sims 2 challenge for use in Sims 4. Please consider these guidelines flexible and tweak them as you wish to fit your gameplay. This challenge was written with all packs in mind but can be played without them.

HUGE thanks to @antiquatedplumbobs for providing me valuable feedback and helping my idea really come to life! Also thanks to @cowplant-snacks for being a sounding board and providing feedback. This challenge wouldn’t be the same without either of their input and I am so grateful!

The Basic Rules

1. There is no electricity, no running water, and no access to technology that wasn’t invented prior to the 1850s. You may wish to utilize the lot trait “off the grid” to aid with this, but this is not essential. As long as the home, decor, and most behaviors of the sims matches the time period, how restrictive you choose to be in your gameplay is up to you. “Close enough” is ok for this challenge.

2. Each member of your wagon party has a backstory to their lives, and many of them are trying to escape from the confines of the restrictive social order or begin a new life. However, the items they take with them will be restricted to what their social rank was when they left. Space on the wagon is limited, and only the most precious items would be taken along. (More on items below)

3. At the start you will play your aspiring pioneer household as they journey by wagon to their destination, facing obstacles along the way. Once your pioneers arrive at their destination, they will all move into a boarding house with a host sim. Only the host household (which includes your first set of pioneers) will be played at this point. Once sims move out and begin their own homesteads, the neighborhood will be played in rotation. Each house will be played for 1 week (length of rotation of your choosing. 1 week is my recommendation).

4. Only the host or hostess at your destination will be able to have a job at first, which will be in politics. Everyone else will have to focus on developing their skills, adding to their hope chests, and preparing for their own homesteads. Sims cannot marry or move out of the boarding house until they have produced enough goods to begin their own homesteads.

5. Please note that your end destination does not have to resemble Oregon. The Oregon Trail game was simply an inspiration for this challenge.

Time

The concept of time passing is up to you. You may want to let the seasons dictate the years, or you may want to base your year around a biological marker, such as the sim age spans. Some may want to make their own metric for years (ie, 4 days = 1 year). You may choose to not bother with the passage of time at all. If you choose to advance the passage of time, you will need to keep track of advancing technology (I recommend Decades Challenge for inspiration). This challenge could be played as a prequel to the Decades Challenge.

Getting Started

1. Create your wagon train lot for your pioneers to live on as they travel to their new home. You can build this yourself or pull a lot from the gallery (my recommendation is Oregon Trail Camp by HistoricalSim). If building your own, this functional tent looks like a covered wagon - http://simfileshare.net/folder/183978/ kindly hosted by @cowplant-snacks, amazingly made functional by @superflare, original by inabadromance.

2. Host Sims and House - Before the pioneers’ journey is complete, you will need to create a host house and a host/hostess sim. (Note: This step can be done right at the start or can wait till their journey is almost over.) Create a host sim of your choosing. This will be the only sim in the initial household able to hold a job, which should be in politics. The host will be the one to hand out homestead deeds (though not literally). The wagon load of pioneers will begin their new life here as they gather supplies and build up their skills to qualify for a homestead of their own. Consider it a boarding house of sorts and build accordingly. You’ll want space for many sims as well as skilling/crafting items available for use.

3. Townies - Your game should have as few townies as possible to begin with as your first pioneers should be part of the town’s founding. You may use mods to prevent the game from spawning townies or you may create your own and use mods to make them fill the roles the game would normally spawn new sims for (mailperson, bartender, etc). You can also allow the game to spawn as it needs to and either ignore those sims or make them over to fit the historical context. (Note: The Sims 2 Homestead Challenge mentions creating Native people to serve as existing townies. This is up to the player)

4. Create your first wagon of settlers

a. Roll a dice to see how many are on the wagon (1-7, unless you use mods to increase the household sim limit). They can be teens-adults. If you want to roll for gender, age, traits, etc you may. You can start with a married couple or single sim if you wish, but keep in mind that not all sims are guaranteed to survive the journey so more sims may be better for this challenge.

b. For each sim, roll their socioeconomic background: This determines the quality and quantity of items each sim may have brought with them to begin their new life/homestead. Note: Sims 4 furniture is stored in the shared household inventory, so may want to roll and make note of this somewhere but not actually choose the items until the sim has moved to their own homestead.

1-2: Indentured Servant or Former Slave (2 Items, poor quality)

3-4: Lower Class (5 Items, poor quality)

5: Lower Middle Class (6 Items of poor quality and 3 items of medium quality)

6: Middle Class (10 items medium quality)

c. Likewise with animals - it stands to reason that some would have brought livestock or perhaps a pet with them, but as these won’t really come into play until the sim moves to their own land, you can decide what they have now and then add them later.

5. Move them into your wagon train lot and begin their journey!

Optional: You can use my save file as a starting point for this challenge. It contains a wagon camp (Oregon Trail Camp by HistoricalSim) placed in Willow Creek. It also has the calendar already set up to include events on the journey and holidays (more on the journey and calendar below). The Journey:

Your wagon of pioneer sims will begin their journey in spring. Their goal is to reach their end destination before winter begins. The length of this stage is up to the player - you may want to drag out the survival struggle or you may want to zip through it quickly. The average time of travel was 150 days. I’ve included a sample calendar below from my save file. The Oregon Trail begins in Missouri and ends in Oregon, and typically took months to complete with many hardships along the way. Any sim who becomes sick while on the journey will need to have a dice rolled for their survival odds (even - they live, odd - they succumb to their illness and die along the trail unless they are within a day of a Fort where they can purchase medicine). Also along the way are 4 river crossings (Kansas, Big Blue, Green, Snake) as well as passage through the Blue Mountains near the end. There are also 4 random events in the spirit of the original Oregon Trail game. For each of the 5 major events (spaced however the player chooses), roll a dice for their odds of success.

1-3 unsuccessful attempt at crossing - roll to see which sim doesn’t make it

4-6 successful crossing - continue on

For the 4 random events on the calendar, roll a dice to determine which sim will be affected by the event. Roll the dice again for survival odds - if a 3 is rolled, your sim dies.

Once the events are completed, the wagon arrives at the boarding house and moves in temporarily until their own homestead can be secured.

The sample calendar below from my save file includes all 5 events spaced out as well as a couple of stops at Forts where supplies can be purchased (medicine, food if you’re playing using the Simple Living lot challenge). I also included 4 random events and a few holiday celebrations.

Optional: If you’d like to further simulate pioneers journeying across the country, you can move your pioneer sim household to wagon camps in different worlds with each river/mountain crossing. If you’re using my save file, use the numbered wagon train lots as listed below.

Recommended worlds to use:

Kansas/Big Blue River Crossings - #1 stay on original lot in Willow Creek

Green River Crossing - #2 Henford

Snake River Crossing - #3 Oasis Springs

Blue Mountains Crossing - #4 Copperdale

Homesteads:

In order to qualify for a homestead, sims must gain 4 skill points in 3 different skills (Baking, Cooking, Cross Stitch, Fishing, Fitness, Flower Arranging, Gardening, Gourmet Cooking, Guitar, Handiness, Herbalism, Horse Riding, Juice Fizzing, Knitting, Nectar Making, Painting, Piano, Pipe Organ, Violin, Writing) as well as meet the qualifications for homesteads below:

Basic Homestead: all skills obtained, $100 starting fund, 10 household wares

2 Bedroom Homestead: all skills obtained, $200 starting fund, 12 household wares

3 Bedroom Homestead: all skills obtained, $300 starting fund, 20 household wares

Middle Class Homestead: all skills obtained, $400 starting fund, 30 household wares

If sims decide to marry, they must each obtain the skills individually but can pool household wares and money to qualify for a homestead.

Since work is not allowed for the pioneers until they move out, they will need to grow and sell produce or create and sell crafted items to earn money. Items can be sold through their inventory for ease if desired. If using Chestnut Ridge as their town, items can also be sold at the General Store.

Household wares include what they rolled from earlier based on their socioeconomic backgrounds as well as anything they create while in the host house.

Note: if you choose to play with the Simple Living lot challenge turned on, you will also want your sims to bring some produce, canned goods, and possibly seeds with them to their homestead.

Once in their own homesteads, they can expand as they have funds and need or can move to a new lot.

Optional: When two homesteads have been established, you can build a Trading Post. This is where your sims can sell their wares through the sales tables available in Sims 4. A grocery stall from Cottage Living may also be placed. They can also sell items at the General Store in Chestnut Ridge.

If you prefer a lot from the Gallery, I highly recommend Old Western Township built by antiqueplumbobs (antiquated plumbobs : Western Township - Simblreen Gift #1 A CC-Free... (tumblr.com) It is perfect as a community lot for this challenge.

When all pioneer sims from the initial wagon have moved into their own homesteads, a second wagon of pioneers can be created and start their journey. As your initial sims have families of their own, you may choose to create families to journey to your town rather than individual sims. The second (and any future) wagon train households created will be played in rotation with the homestead households established by your original pioneers.

Careers:

Once on their own established homesteads, your sims can begin careers.

At home careers: farmer, orchard owner, florist, woodworker, dairy farm, llama farm, chicken farm, horse breeder, goat herder, sheep farmer, nectar maker, juice fizzer, herbalist

Careers in game: fisherman, manual laborer, gardener, painter, politician, writer, lawyer, doctor, teacher, criminal, entertainer (Note: I would suggest creating a specific sim to be the doctor to unlock medicine, creating a teacher to be part of a wagon train once your town begins to have infants/toddlers, etc - add the careers as it makes sense for your town, as most making this journey initially would have been farmers).

Optional careers:

Create a clergyman to perform marriage ceremonies among the settlers. Can add a fee to their household funds for each marriage performed, etc.

Add in custom careers, such as Fur Trader ( Peebs : Fur Trade Career | Original Career This career... (tumblr.com) )

That’s it! See how far your town can grow and advance as new settlers arrive but most importantly, have fun!

Sims 4 LOTR Legacy Challenge

Welcome to my Sims 4 LOTR Legacy Challenge!

As a lifelong fan of The Sims, I’ve always enjoyed creating unique and immersive stories for my sims. Meanwhile, my boyfriend is a huge "The Lord of the Rings" enthusiast, with an impressive collection of memorabilia and an encyclopedic knowledge of Middle-earth lore. We often share our passions with each other, and this time, we decided to blend our interests into an epic adventure in The Sims 4!

The result? A Legacy Challenge that combines the enchanting world of Middle-earth with the creativity and fun of The Sims 4. Each generation of my legacy family will be inspired by iconic characters and themes from J.R.R. Tolkien's masterpiece, following their own quests and adventures in the game.

Join me as I guide my sims through the trials and triumphs of this LOTR-themed legacy, from humble Hobbit holes to majestic Elven realms, and everything in between. Let's embark on this journey together and see how the spirit of Middle-earth comes to life in the world of The Sims!

General Rules

Starting Out:

Create a founder sim inspired by a LOTR character.

Move your founder into an empty lot and build a home with starter funds or start with $0.

No cheats allowed (except for resetting sims if needed).

Aging and Lifespan:

Set the game to Normal lifespan. Short if you want a challenge

All aging must be enabled, including NPC aging.

Heir Rules:

Each generation's heir must be directly related to the founder.

The heir is typically the first-born child but can be chosen based on story elements or player preference.

Mods and Custom Content:

Mods and custom content (CC) are allowed, especially if they enhance the LOTR theme.

Avoid mods that make the challenge significantly easier.

Gameplay Restrictions:

No money cheats or other gameplay shortcuts.

Only sell items created or collected by your sims (e.g., gardening, fishing, painting).

Generation 1: The Hobbit (Frodo)

Starting Out

Create Your Founder: Create a sim inspired by Frodo Baggins.

Aspiration: Outdoor Enthusiast

Traits: Loves the Outdoors, Cheerful, Good

Move In: Move your founder into an empty lot. Build a small, cozy home reminiscent of a Hobbit hole. Use modest furnishings to reflect the humble lifestyle of Hobbits.

Goals and Objectives

Gardening and Fishing Skills:

Max Out Gardening: Frodo is known for his love of the Shire and its natural beauty. Your sim must max out the Gardening skill.

Max Out Fishing: Spend time fishing in local ponds and rivers to max out the Fishing skill.

Form Close Friendships:

Fellowship of the Ring: Form close friendships with at least four other sims, representing the Fellowship. These can be new characters or other sims in the world.

Consider sims with different traits and backgrounds to mimic the diversity of the Fellowship (e.g., a brave sim, a wise sim, a loyal sim).

Adventure and Exploration:

Travel: Visit different locations to simulate Frodo’s journey across Middle-earth. Spend time in Granite Falls (representing the wilderness) and Selvadorada (for a more exotic adventure).

Collectibles: Gather unique collectibles from these travels. Aim to collect all types of frogs, insects, or crystals.

Maintain a Simple Lifestyle:

Off-the-Grid: Enable the "Off-the-Grid" lot trait for a more authentic Hobbit experience.

Small Home: Keep your home small and cozy. Upgrades are allowed, but the home should always feel modest and welcoming.

Storytelling:

Diary: Keep a diary (in the form of a journal or book) where Frodo writes about his adventures and friendships. This can be done by having your sim write in a journal or create books using the Writing skill.

Photos: Take photos of key moments and places visited. Display these photos in the home to create a visual record of Frodo’s journey.

Additional Challenges

Quest for the One Ring:

Find the One Ring: Choose a specific item in the game to represent the One Ring. This could be a unique collectible or a family heirloom. Once found, it must be kept safe and displayed prominently in the home. An idea could be using the crystal creations stuff pack to make your own ring.

Resist Temptation:

Avoid Wealth: Frodo’s journey is about resisting the lure of power and wealth. Keep household funds modest. Any large windfalls should be donated to charity or used to help friends and neighbors.

Hobbiton Community:

Community Garden: Create a community garden on your lot where friends can come to help tend plants and enjoy the outdoors together.

Known issues The bed is only accessible from the left side as the path to the right side is unfortunately blocked by the punchbag in the corner (or by its huge footprint, to be precise). So if you want two sims to sleep in the bed, one will either have to scoot over or you'll have to delete the punchbag. (As I only imagined one person to live in this apt., for me it didn't matter that much and it was more important for me to keep the punchbag, but it might be annoying if you want to use it differently.)

And there was a problem with my sim not using the free kitchen counter (I was ranting about it in this post). After an hour of playtesting and almost losing my mind, it seems this was either caused by a bug or by my save being corrupted or something... So you might encounter the same issue or not, but as far as I'm aware, it's not caused by the way the kitchen is built...

Sorry for these inconveniences, everything else should work fine.

Way too long Backstory Ever since he was a teen, Piet was involved in criminal activities. From pickpocketing and shoplifting he eventually got to bigger thefts and burglary. It was basically the only thing he knew, and the people who introduced him to this life felt way more like family than his own one.

But when one of their jobs went wrong, he ended up in prison. Now, some years later, he's been released and needs to find a way to start anew. As he doesn't have his old apartment anymore, he had to find a new place to stay and eventually could rent a cheap, run-down basement flat in the old town of Britechester. Together with his friends, he tried to fix up the place as much as he could and furnish it with what was left from his old belongings and whatever other stuff they could find. The apartment is still grungy and doesn't feel much like a home, but at least there was space for his favourite bands' posters and the old lighthouse painting, and for now that will have to do.

As much as he would love to start completely from scratch and leave his past behind, Piet feels the life he desires is out of reach for him, for various reasons. And with old habits and acquaintances keeping a grip on him, will anything ever actually change or will he end up choosing his old familiar path again?

Theo comes home at the end of the day and finds Agnes reading the paper on his porch. He invites her in, one thing leads to another, and it turns out she is pregnant! Risky woohoo strikes again!

So, Theo decides the right thing to do is to invite her to move in - Agnes is now our newest and very unexpected playable Sim!

Couch endeavors ౨ৎ

ೀ Stepdad! John wick x reader pt 2

Summary: after last week's encounter all you can think about was how it all started between you and your step dad John. (5k words)

TW: Stepcest. Strong language. NSFW. Large age gap.

Note: hii lovies <3 I know it’s been a long time, but who knew applying to college would be harder and more tiring than ACTUALLY being in the college smh.

It’s been months since you and your now step dad have started the problematic relationship between the two of you. At first you hated him… but now… all you can think about is that fateful day

when it all first started…

….

you had just got out of school.

you and your best friend Cassie, were walking out of the school building waiting outside to be picked up by y’all’s respected parents.

The wind is blowing , making you shiver a bit.

“I’m so damn happy today is Friday, what are you doing tonight?” Cassie asked while staring at the other kids walking off into each car.

“I don’t know honestly, probably playing sims 4 all weekend… the usual”

you say as you sigh.

“I know it’s like we are finally in high school and there are no parties to ever go to when you need them.”

Cassie complained whilst checking her phone.

You scan the place before speaking.

“I know right, like you see in every teenage movie they have some sort of glow up and go to a party and somehow end up almost sleeping with their crush until the nerdy boy they hated then befriended is there somehow, and they decide to run off with him.”

you ramble on about whilst still standing there waiting to be picked up.

“No cause it’s the fact you know the plot of every 80s movie by heart”

Cassie says as you chuckle.

“I guess it’s another win for the virgins this week”

Cassie says sarcastically,

You start to tap your foot while analyzing the kids going in and out the building, as you feel a bit antsy at the thought of finally going home.

you see a black car pull up and instantly realize it’s your stupid step dad. Only one person has that type of nice car you just can’t not remember.

Ever since your mom started prioritizing your step dad over you, you've disliked the man ever since.

John wick… what a name… rolls right off the tongue if you think about it hard enough…

you let out a big sigh and roll your eyes.

He finally pulls up,

“Bye pookie”

Cassie says as you lean in to hug her goodbye.

You start walking over to the car,

“Text me!!” you called out one last time while getting into the passenger seat,

your step dad pulls off, as you're still situating yourself in the seat.

You throw your book bag in between your legs.

“Hey John…” you said awkwardly, not knowing what to say.

“Hey kiddo, how was school?”

He asked while patting your thigh.

you freeze a bit, your thoughts racing as you realize what he just did.

His huge muscular hands compared to your thigh.

you instantly start to blush and turn your head towards the window so he can’t see your whole face lighting up in embarrassment.

you didn't want to admit it but you kinda liked the attention….

“ NO! You can’t…

You can’t… you hate him… but do I reall- yes you must ! It’s because of him your mother never has time for you anymore”

you thought to yourself, trying to reason with yourself whether you should like John or not.

“Wouldn’t you like to know…”

you replied with a scoff, and continuously stare out the window trying not to pay any attention to the man.

He sighs, opening his mouth preparing to speak…

It takes a few minutes for him to reply, you could see the sadness in his expression.

“I… look… I know you're not happy your mother and I are getting married but I promise I’m not trying to destroy your relationship with your mother… We both care about you deeply.

I just wish you’d open up more,

Now that I’m your step dad I just want what’s best for this family.”

He lectured, while continually driving.

Where? God knows.

you rolled your eyes, and scoff turning your head to look at him.

“Since you wanna know so bad, it was pretty okay. Kinda boring but other than that, I got a 98 on the math test we took today.”

you replied without giving any thought to what he had just said.

“Good job, kiddo” he gave you a small grin, and patted your upper thigh.

you couldn’t help but feel some sort of energy … not the normal kind.

But you decided to just shrug it off cause it’s out of your reach, you’ll let this pass.

“ how about we go get something to eat to celebrate, a little father and daughter bonding time. it’s on me.”

you nod your head as a response and pop in an earbud.

You connect your earbuds to your phone and turn on

“Swallowed my key” by slater.

32 minutes later y'all end up at The Cheesecake Factory.

You sit there in the parked car registering how and why your step dad whom you hardly know just took you to your favorite restaurant,

You both step out of the car and start walking towards the door.

He ends up at the door first and opens it for your.

“Ladies first!” he chuckles.

“You’re such a geek.” you scoffed and walked inside.

you walk over to the desk waiting to be seated,

John followed close by.

It turns out John was taking y'all there anyways and had already called ahead for a reservation.

He tells the desk man his last name, the waiter picks up two menus and tells y’all to follow him.

y’all finally arrive at the table.

Yall both sit down and the waiter pulls out his notepad, placing 2 straws down on the table.

“What would you two like to drink?”

Asked the man with a big grin.

“I’ll have a water with extra lemon”

Replied John with a sour face.

“I’ll have a sprite”

You answer while playing with the straw on the table.

“Perfect, I'll have those out as soon as they're done!”

The waiter turns to look at you and winks.

He finally walks away.

you could tell John saw what the waiter had done and now he’s all pissy.

“Sooo… what cheesecake do you want when we’re done ?”

John asks awkwardly… trying to break the ice.

“Oreo…”

you say plainly scrunch your lips up, and look around at your surroundings.

“Great choice!”

He replies with a reminiscing grin of assurance.

you could tell he wants to get closer to you but you just can’t… you hated how he came in between you and your mom.

You’re spaced out in Thought until John broke the silence by clearing his throat and stroking his beard in thought as well.

you were a bit startled but you couldn't help but stare at him… the longer you observed him the more reason you understood why your mom wanted to bag the man, I mean Christ…. His phyzic, his raven black hair… his dangerous ey-… you shake your head at the thought of you starting to like your step father…

“I mean yeah he was handsome, but… maybe… just maybe I was misjudging him… “

He finally realizes you are staring at him, he flashes you a bright smile.

you decided to flash him one back.

“You know… your a very pretty girl”

He compliments you while chuckling and looking away from your eyes in embarrassment.

You could tell his cheek were red and flushed,

“Thank you…”

you honestly started to blush until you realized he’s literally your moms fiancé, and your step dad.

No matter how much you couldn't stand either of them you would never…

Maybe… just maybe…

Y’all sit in silence until the waiter arrives,

And place the bread and drinks in the middle of the table.

“Are y’all ready to order?”

The waiter announces while holding onto his notepad and pen waiting to jot down the orders.

“Uhhh yes”

John mutters then tells the man his order.

you could tell John was staring into the poor man’s soul with Ill intent.

you couldn’t lie, it kinda made you blush at how possessive he was over you.

You kinda liked this side of him.

you thought to yourself until you realized the waiter had handed a piece of paper to you.

John quickly snatched it out of your hand and crumbled it, placing it in his pocket.

He places his knuckles in front of his mouth and clears his throat.

“You won’t be needing that...”

you wince at John with confusion and anger.

He’s already taken plus he’s not even my real father… Why does he get to play god with my love life?

Just as you started to open up he pulls this.

you got annoyed and hesitatingly tell the waiter your order, as he’s jotting it down,

He then walks off with a confused and frozen face.

“Why did you do that… he could’ve been a nice guy.” you complain to John while pouting.

“You don’t need distractions from father and daughter bonding time.”

John replied with a smile and pats your hand which was was reaching for

a piece of bread.

“If you saw so..”

You roll your eyes at his reply.

He got sick and tired of the silence between you too so he decided to ask you random questions about yourself to break the ice.

“What’s your favorite artist…”

you looked him dead in the eyes and you realized he’s serious about this.

you sigh and comply with the chitter chat.

“Lana del Rey, maruex, the smiths… the usual.”

you reply, trying not to sound too boring.

“Ahhh yes the smiths that brings me back, I actually met Johnny murr”

He replied while reminiscing.

“No way!! That’s so cool…. I hope that didn’t sound sarcastic”

you giggle

“But genuinely that’s cool as fuck.”

He chuckles and tilts his head.

“He was a pretty cool guy not gonna lie.”

He replied

“What’s YOUR favorite artist?”

You asked whilst staring into his beautiful dark brown eyes.

you wanted to know about him… you hated to admit it but the fact he’s actually taking time to know you actually makes you a bit sympathetic again.

He was so perfect, so mysterious you couldn’t even be mad at him for too long.

Also not to mention I’d be awkward to make a fool of yourself…

“Why do I care about this all the sudden…”

you thinks to yourself, a bit conflicted at how you feel about the man.

“Well… it’s a pretty hard question but probably… the talking heads…”

“Amazing pick choice !! I love their one song,

psycho killer, but once in a lifetime is also really good!”

you enthusiastically replied, you could never pass up a good conversation about music you enjoy.

“You have amazing taste sweetheart.”

He grinned.

you instantly started to blush, you can’t believe he called you that, I mean he’s your step dad of course it has no romantic meaning behind it… but you kinda wish it did.

“Favorite show?”

He asked, tilting his head and clearing his throat yet again.

“Ermmm probably what we do in the shows… it’s my favorite!! I always loved the thought of vampires”

you replied while smiling at the thought of him being so interested in your interests … you hated it but he had this.. energy when you’ve been around him long enough,

Almost like you're hypnotized.

The waiter finally came back with the food.

About time…

After eating your meals and taking your desserts to go y'all finally walk out of the restaurant,

As you're going down the steps he reaches to grab your hand.

You decide to comply not to make it an awkwardly uncomfortable experience.

He digs in his pocket to grab the car keys to unlock the car,

he walks you over to your side of the car and opens the door for you.

you couldn’t help but smile at the gesture…

It’s the small things that count.

you hop in and wait for him to get in.

“Thank you John…”

You smile while buckling in your seat belt.

“Your welcome princess.”

The way he says it comes naturally off his tongue.

“Can I play some music?”

You tilt your head as you ask.

“Yeah sure go ahead, princess.”

He replied handing you the aux cord,

You instantly pull out your phone and connect it, it takes you a while but you then decide to play,

“Burning desire” by Lana del rey.
