DAY 5964
Jalsa, Mumbai June 16, 2024 Sun 11:44 PM
🪔 ,
June 17 .. birthday greetings to :
Ef Rajeev Sharma from NYC ..
Ef Sigali Siman Tov ..
and Ef Rishit Shukla from Ahmedabad .. 🙏🏻🚩❤️
my wishes and the wishes of the entire Ef family for prosperity peace calm and love ..❤️
.. the memory test, and this one reads with great interest these days, is tested now for the moment of the Blog .. and when I do rewind the time clock for the day , there is little that can be of any remembrance ... the breathing yoga , the AI gym, the concerted physio , takes away more than the day .. and then one sits in wonder and apprehension for the GOJ .. and there is a fear and , well, not really a fear , but one that runs through the mind ..
'will anyone still be there ..' ?
and as the gates open the energised reception and the smiles and the cheering and the multitudinous mobiles up in the air , take over .. and take over the balconies of the balcony in the structure ahead of the road across and the rooftop of another and their vociferous waves and movements to be seen , capture the eye and attention is drawn there .. after due respect to the Ef in the front rows .. and the slogan shouting Ef's of the day and the banners and the pictures in abundance to be autographed and given in immediate return .. and the turn back to the isolation of the personalised room .. and the wonder of , 'did it really happen all this' ..
a short reflect to the Office , in meets .. and back to the meal with the kids and now the joint adventure of the EURO football game in a while .. the WCt20 having taken a spot in the playoffs with distinction and the awaited anticipation of the next .. game .. and its results ..
And between all this .. a written record of what has been discussed for and met with, for the upcoming thoughts, for the future ..
the future .. which seems crowded .. but there is ever a space in the crowds for that little inch of space to discover , move in and find yourself on the other side .. fresh air fresh horizon and fresh mind .. safe in the protection and comfort of the comfortable - the self .. !
the self is the undisclosed unburdened unknown understanding - alliteration be acknowledged - of the under .. !!
🤨
the alliteration just dropped by not quite accidentally but by response .. a response to a message that came by on an occasion and my reply being ..
"Grateful gratitude 🙏 greetings ❤️" ..
and what would normally come as an acceptance of maybe most times nothing at all , what came by was ..
'alliteration accepted '
and alliteration in its own right .. 🤣 🤣
So .. the walk down the GOJ aisle .. in heartbeat moments .. and then the climb to the viewing box .. for the revelation that all is well ..
And all the time the moment of the great Charlie Chaplin comes running by, as he is invited back to Hollywood after years from his exile , so to say , being deported from USA , on the suspicion of being labelled a communist , to be decorated by the Academy for a LifeTime Award .. and as he stands in the wings of the stage waiting for the announcement, he hesitantly asked the aide standing by his side to usher him in :
'will they clap .. ??
and when he does, he gets the longest standing ovation ever .. his eyes filled with unspoken emotion, unable to say a word .. he just stands there .. his face filled with uncontrolled gratitude ..
Ahhh .. what a moment in the history of cinema !!!
एक और रविवार बीत गया
स्नेह आदर 🌹❤️
अमिताभ बच्चन
the pictures had not come out well .. so trying again

Kamala Khan’s bookshelves
Kamala’s room in The Marvels is an absolute treasure trove of little details to zoom in on, and I’ve identified so many books on her shelves!
Shelf 1, top to bottom:
1. Landmark Experiments in Twentieth Century Physics by George L. Trigg
College-level book about experiments that helped us learn about x-rays, lasers, isotopes, superconductors, and all kinds of other things I don’t understand. Meant to be more practical than theoretical since it talks about the actual methodologies of these experiments. Could be for school, or for Kamala and Bruno to run their own tests of Kamala’s powers. The first of many books in the Khan house that come from Dover Publications.
2. Space Time Matter by Hermann Weyl
“An esoteric initiation into space time physics” -Amazon reviewer. I’m gonna be real, I don’t understand half the words in this book description, but apparently it’s famous for introducing gauge theory, which was later reborn as phase transformations in quantum theory. I can see this being something Kamala reads to try and understand the bangle transporting her to the Partition. Also from Dover.
3. A Map to the Sun by Sloane Leong
A graphic novel about a high school girl’s basketball team learning to work together despite their many differences and conflicts. Also it has a gorgeous color palette. Seems fairly self explanatory why it’s in this movie. I’ll definitely be borrowing this from my library! Like my friend Kamala recommended a book to me herself.
4. The Good Immigrant anthology edited by Nikesh Shukla
21 essays from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) people in the UK about their experiences. It was crowdfunded initially, extremely critically acclaimed, and has gotten spinoffs and sequels. Riz Ahmed, who is British Pakistani, is one contributor, and a fun fact is that Rish Shah (Kamran from Ms. Marvel) worked with Riz Ahmed in an Oscar winning short called The Long Goodbye. Also, the editor, Nikesh Shukla, is currently writing the Spider-Man India comics series!
5. Bright Lines by Tanwi Nandini Islam
A coming-of-age story about 3 young adults with complicated family, friend, and romantic relationships between them. They have to travel from Brooklyn to Bangladesh together one summer and thereby discover a lot about themselves. I haven’t read it, but there seems to be a ton of complex representation of LGBTQ, POC, immigrant, and Muslim characters. I wonder how much the three main characters can be compared with our three characters with complex relationships in The Marvels, and I wonder which character Kamala most relates to!
6. I can’t tell! The font is bugging the hell out of me because theoretically, with that amount of contrast, I should be able to read a word when I get two inches from the TV and mess with the settings. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
7. I also can’t tell, but I’m being easier on myself because the title is written in white on a yellow background. It’s not the only book I know off the top of my head with this color scheme (Yellowface by RF Kuang) because the title is definitely multiple words. Help!
Shelf 2, right to left:
1. One Night that Changes Everything by Lauren Barnholdt
A YA romance where, through a convoluted series of events, a teenager must face all of her insecurities in one night. I can see Kamala devouring this as brain candy after wrestling with those advanced science books, or using it as fic inspiration!
2. Can’t tell, but love the color scheme!
This next one is a weird one, because I am 100% sure of what book it is, but I cannot find a picture of a matching edition.
3. Wizard at Large by Terry Brooks
It’s definitely, without a doubt, this book (where a character and a magical medallion are accidentally transported to Earth from another realm and switches places with an evil genie). Like those are the words on the spine and the plot of the book is an obvious choice for this movie. The fonts match on the audiobook, the ebook, and the next two books in the series. But try as I might, I cannot find any proof on the internet that the physical book that appears in Kamala’s room, that uses those two fonts and that spine formatting, exists. This is haunting me…
4. (On the other side of the box) It’s not The Twilight Saga Eclipse, but I definitely thought it was before I could watch in high definition. I think it’s a journal or sketchbook of Kamala’s; there are a bunch scattered throughout the room.
Shelf 3:
I’ve only identified the bottom book, which is Einstein’s Theory of Relativity by Max Born (Dover Publications). The third one up is HAUNTING me, it looks SO identifiable and yet!
Living Room Side Table:
1. Amateur Astronomer’s Handbook by JB Sidgwick (from Dover Publications)
2. Cosmology by Hermann Bondi (also Dover)
Both of these seem less difficult than the science books in Kamala’s room, but reviewers note that it helps to know calculus when reading Cosmology. Idk which member of the Khan family is reading these, but I love their family’s connection to the stars 💫
Tbh I’m having so much fun doing this! And I really wish we got to see Monica’s living space so I can analyze her books 😭

Meet the 2024 Goldman Environmental Prize Winners
Alok Shukla from India, Andrea Vidaurre from the U.S., Marcel Gomes from Brazil, Murrawah Maroochy Johnson from Australia, Teresa Vicente from Spain, and Nonhle Mbuthuma and Sinegugu Zukulu from South Africa.
This year’s winners include two Indigenous activists who stopped destructive seismic testing for oil and gas off the Eastern Cape in Africa, an activist who protected a forest in India from coal mining, an organizer who changed California’s transportation regulations, a journalist who exposed links between beef and deforestation in Brazil, an activist who blocked development of a coal mine in Australia, a professor of philosophy of law who led a campaign that resulted in legal rights to an ecosystem in Spain.
“There is no shortage of those who are doing the hard work, selflessly. These seven leaders refused to be complacent amidst adversity, or to be cowed by powerful corporations and governments,” John Goldman, president of the Goldman Environmental Foundation, said in a statement. “Alone, their achievements across the world are impressive. Together, they are a collective force—and a growing global movement—that is breathtaking and full of hope.

I asked Shukla why he had lost faith in Modi. One reason, he said, was “animals.” When I looked confused, he pointed helpfully to the street, where a huge cow was meandering down the middle of the road. “Look, here’s an animal coming now.” It took me a moment to realize what he was talking about. The BJP’s preoccupation with protecting cows—for Hindus, a symbol of divine beneficence—was driving people crazy. No one was allowed to touch them anymore, Shukla said. They wandered at will, eating crops and fodder. Cows had even become a source of corruption, he claimed; funds have been set up to protect cows, Shukla said, but “the money disappears.” This is what Modi’s rhetoric about building a Hindu nation often amounts to at the local level, especially in villages that have no Muslims to blame.
Shukla moved on from cows to the government’s more basic failures. Small-business owners like him were most affected by the Modi government’s mistakes, such as the surprise decision in 2016 to cancel large-currency banknotes, a misguided effort to curtail money laundering that left ordinary people desperate for cash. The mishandling of the coronavirus pandemic caused staggering losses of life and income. Many small firms folded, and others had to let go of workers. At the same time, Modi’s grand promises about being India’s “Development Man” remained unfulfilled. The schools were a mess. The local hospital was a joke.
Shukla was getting angrier. He stood up, saying he had something to show me. We walked across the street, past a brightly painted Hindu temple—by far the best-maintained building in the village—and approached an abandoned house with a rusted bed frame beside it. Nearby was a ruined ambulance, its tires rotting into the dust. The building was supposed to be a maternity hospital, Shukla said, but the government had never followed through. He kicked the building’s broken door. “Useless,” he said.

India has unveiled four Air Force pilots who have been shortlisted to travel on the country's maiden space flight scheduled for next year.
The Gaganyaan mission aims to send three astronauts to an orbit of 400km and bring them back after three days.
India's space agency Isro has been carrying out a number of tests to prepare for the flight.
In October, a key test demonstrated that the crew could safely escape the rocket in case it malfunctioned.
After its success, Isro said a test flight would take a robot into space in 2024, before astronauts are sent into space in 2025.
At a function at the Isro centre in the southern city of Thiruvananthapuram (formerly Trivandrum) on Tuesday, the four astronaut-designates were described as "dreamers, adventurers and valiant men preparing to go into space".
The officers, chosen from the Indian Air Force, were introduced as Group Captain Prashanth Balakrishnan Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan, Group Captain Angad Pratap and Wing Commander Shubhanshu Shukla.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Isro chief S Somanath pinned badges with golden wings onto their shirts and Mr Modi described them as "India's pride".
"These are not just four names or four people. They are four powers who will carry the aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians to space. I congratulate and wish them all the best," he said.
Officials said the men were selected from a pool of Air Force pilots and had undergone extensive physical and psychological tests before being shortlisted.
They have undergone rigorous training for 13 months in Russia and are now carrying on with their gruelling schedule back home. A video screened at the event showed them working out in the gym, swimming and doing yoga.
On Tuesday, Isro also showed a glimpse of Vyommitra - Sanskrit word for "space friend" - the female humanoid that will be sent into space later this year.
The Gaganyaan Mission is India's first human space flight programme for which extensive preparations are underway at various Isro centres.
Named after the Sanskrit word for craft or vehicle to the sky, the Gaganyaan project has been developed at the cost of 90bn rupees ($1bn; £897m).
If it succeeds, India will become only the fourth country to send a human into space after the Soviet Union, the US and China.
Gaganyaan has generated a lot of interest in India, although it's coming decades after Soviet Union and the US started making trips to the low Earth orbit. Both have been in space since 1961. China became the third country to reach space in October 2003 when a Chinese mission spent 21 hours and orbited Earth 14 times. And the US and China have fully operational space stations in low Earth orbit.
An Indian astronaut also went to space as early as in 1984 when Rakesh Sharma spent nearly eight days on a Russian spacecraft.
How important are India's Moon mission findings?
What has India's rover been up to on the Moon?
Last year, India made major forays into space. The country made history by becoming the first to land near the Moon's south pole in August 2023.
Just weeks later, scientists launched Aditya-L1, India's first observation mission to the Sun which is now in orbit, keeping an eye on our solar system's most important and volatile star.
India has also announced ambitious new plans for space, saying it would aim to set up a space station by 2035 and send an astronaut to the Moon by 2040.

Success Stories of IAS Toppers: Key Lessons to Learn
Every year, thousands of aspirants dream of cracking the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE), but only a few make it to the final list. The journey of IAS toppers is filled with valuable lessons, perseverance, and strategies that can inspire and guide other aspirants. In this blog, we will explore the success stories of IAS toppers and the key takeaways from their experiences.
Why Learn from IAS Toppers?
Success stories provide:
Motivation: Real-life examples of determination and hard work can inspire you to stay focused.
Strategies: Insights into preparation techniques that worked for successful candidates.
Mistake Avoidance: Lessons on what to avoid during your own preparation journey.
Key Lessons from the Success Stories of IAS Toppers
1. Start with a Clear Vision and Plan
Most toppers emphasize the importance of having a clear plan before starting their preparation. For example:
Anudeep Durishetty (AIR 1, 2017): Anudeep started with a meticulous study plan, focusing on both static and dynamic parts of the syllabus. He prioritized consistency over long study hours.
Lesson: Break your preparation into manageable phases and set realistic targets.
2. Master the Syllabus
Understanding the syllabus in detail is the first step to success:
Kanishak Kataria (AIR 1, 2018): Kanishak studied the UPSC syllabus thoroughly and aligned all his resources, notes, and preparation around it.
Lesson: Keep a copy of the syllabus handy and use it as your guiding framework for preparation.
3. Choose Your Optional Wisely
The optional subject plays a critical role in scoring well in the Mains exam:
Gaurav Agarwal (AIR 1, 2013): Gaurav, an IIT graduate, chose Economics as his optional, leveraging his strengths and interest in the subject.
Lesson: Choose an optional subject based on interest, background, and availability of resources.
4. Consistency is More Important Than Hours
Toppers often stress the need for consistency in preparation:
Tina Dabi (AIR 1, 2015): Tina maintained a disciplined routine, studying regularly for 6-8 hours while balancing breaks and leisure time.
Lesson: Avoid burnout by setting a daily study routine that is consistent and sustainable.
5. Effective Note-Making
Smart note-making helps in quick revisions and retention:
Akshat Jain (AIR 2, 2018): Akshat made concise notes for every subject, focusing on keywords, mind maps, and current affairs integration.
Lesson: Develop a personalized note-making system that works for you.
6. Stay Updated with Current Affairs
Toppers integrate current affairs into their answers effectively:
Pradeep Singh (AIR 1, 2019): Pradeep dedicated 1-2 hours daily to newspapers, magazines, and government reports like PIB and Yojana.
Lesson: Make current affairs a daily habit and connect it to static topics in the syllabus.
7. Write and Practice Answer Writing
Answer writing is the backbone of Mains preparation:
Artika Shukla (AIR 4, 2015): Artika practiced answer writing regularly, focusing on time management, structure, and presentation.
Lesson: Join a test series and practice writing answers under exam conditions to improve your speed and quality.
8. Take Mock Tests Seriously
Mock tests help identify strengths and weaknesses:
Shubham Kumar (AIR 1, 2020): Shubham attempted multiple mock tests for both Prelims and Mains, analyzing his mistakes and improving weak areas.
Lesson: Simulate exam conditions by taking mock tests and learn from your mistakes.
9. Balance Between Study and Mental Health
Maintaining mental and physical well-being is crucial for long-term preparation:
Shruti Sharma (AIR 1, 2021): Shruti balanced her studies with meditation, exercise, and regular breaks to avoid stress and stay focused.
Lesson: Prioritize physical fitness and mental health to maintain productivity.
10. Learn from Failures and Persevere
Many toppers did not succeed on their first attempt but used failure as a stepping stone:
Nandini K R (AIR 1, 2016): Nandini failed in her first attempt but learned from her mistakes and came back stronger.
Lesson: Treat failures as learning opportunities and never give up.
Common Themes Across All Success Stories
Self-Belief: Toppers believe in their abilities and stay motivated despite challenges.
Discipline and Hard Work: Consistent efforts and a disciplined approach are key.
Smart Work: Toppers focus on quality over quantity, using strategic approaches like note-making, mock tests, and time management.
Personalized Strategy: Each topper follows a plan that works for them, based on their strengths and weaknesses.
The success stories of IAS toppers serve as a reminder that with determination, consistency, and smart preparation, anyone can achieve their dream of becoming a civil servant. The key is to learn from their journeys, adapt their strategies to your needs, and remain focused on your goal.
Your preparation journey may be unique, but the lessons from these success stories will guide you towards success. Keep working hard, stay positive, and believe in yourself—your success story could be the next one to inspire future aspirants!

How and When to Wear a Blue Sapphire Ring
In astrology, blue sapphire, or Neelam in Hindi, is one of the most potent and esteemed jewels. It is revered for its deep astrological meaning in addition to its alluring beauty. When worn properly, this gemstone, which is associated with the powerful planet Saturn (Śni), is thought to provide wisdom, stability, and several advantages to its user. For optimal results, follow this thorough guide on when and how to wear a blue sapphire ring.
Blue Sapphire: A Gem of Divine Favor
The deep blue color of the Blue Sapphire, sometimes known as the “gem of royalty,” represents dignity, wisdom, and heavenly grace. In the past, spiritual leaders, kings, and queens have worn it to capitalize on its mystical qualities. Wearing this gemstone, however, requires careful consultation with an astrologer due to its powerful powers.
Astrological Significance of Blue Sapphire
According to astrology, Saturn, the planet of justice, karma, and discipline, is in charge of the blue sapphire. Saturn’s influence can present both opportunities and difficulties. When the stars are in alignment, wearing a blue sapphire can:
Enhance focus and determination.
Remove obstacles and alleviate financial difficulties.
Bring clarity of thought and emotional stability.
Provide protection from malefic planetary effects.
However, wearing this gemstone unguided can have negative effects if Saturn is not in a favorable position in your horoscope. Therefore, seeking advice from an astrologer is essential.
When to Wear a Blue Sapphire Ring
Using the Blue Sapphire’s energies effectively requires timing. These are the perfect times:
During Saturn Transit (Shani Gochar): Wearing a blue sapphire ring will lessen the negative impacts of Saturn when it passes through a difficult point in your horoscope. This gemstone is frequently suggested by astrologers during Saturn’s Sade Sati or Dhaiya seasons.
On Saturdays: The best day to wear a blue sapphire ring is Saturday, which is ruled by Saturn. This day is thought to be when the gemstone’s energies are at their strongest.
During Challenging Phases: Speaking with an astrologer can help you decide whether Blue Sapphire is the best course of action for you whether you are facing health problems, financial difficulties, or job obstacles.
How to Wear a Blue Sapphire Ring
Take these actions to make sure the energies of the gemstone are activated:
Purify the Ring: Cleanse the Blue Sapphire Ring by soaking it in a solution of milk, honey, and clean water for a few hours before wearing. This procedure eliminates any bad energy from the gemstone and purifies it.
Select the Right Finger: The blue sapphire ring is typically worn on the right middle finger. However, depending on your birth chart, the finger you choose may change. For individualized guidance, always seek the assistance of an astrologer.
Choose the Correct Metal: Usually, white gold, platinum, or silver are used to set blue sapphires. The metal selection is important because it affects the astrological power of the gemstone.
Optimal Time: The best time to wear the ring is during the Shukla Paksha (waxing moon) on a Saturday morning. Ensure you perform this ritual in a quiet and peaceful environment.
Seek Professional Guidance: Before wearing the Blue Sapphire, it is essential to test its compatibility with your aura. Wear it as a trial for a few days to observe its effects. Consulting an astrologer at Astrojivan ensures you receive expert advice tailored to your horoscope.
Precautions While Wearing Blue Sapphire
A broken or shattered blue sapphire should not be worn as it may have unfavorable effects.

To preserve the ring’s energizing qualities, clean it on a regular basis.

Following that I went to my room and rested for some time. Cometing the online class from the room itself I went for Pradhan sires lecture.

Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi: The Divine Awakening and How You Can Partake in a Sacred Tradition of Compassion
Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi, falling on the eleventh lunar day (Ekadashi) of Shukla Paksha in the Kartik month, marks the day Lord Vishnu awakens from his four-month slumber. From the Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi to this day, known as Chaturmas, religious restrictions discourage auspicious activities like marriages, with devotees dedicating this time to spiritual practices and personal reflection. The awakening of Lord Vishnu on Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi reopens the gates for auspicious activities and holds immense spiritual significance.
On this sacred day, devotees fast, pray, and seek Lord Vishnu’s blessings, believed to bring abundance in wealth, grains, and happiness. Fasting on Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi is said to grant devotees special divine blessings. Here’s how this revered day is traditionally observed and how the virtuous act of supporting and feeding cows at Shree Krishnayan Gauraksha can add deeper meaning to this Ekadashi.
Observing Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi
Fasting on this day is not just a ritual but a test of one’s devotion. From the tenth day, or Dashami Tithi, devotees begin preparing for the fast by adopting a sattvic diet, abstaining from onions, garlic, and other tamasic foods. On Ekadashi, they observe a strict fast, often without water, and break their fast on the following day, Dwadashi, after sunrise.
The spiritual significance is deepened by the act of staying awake all night, singing bhajans, and praising Lord Vishnu, symbolizing an awakened state of mind and spiritual connection. Traditionally, after the fast, devotees feed Brahmins as an act of charity, expressing gratitude and fostering goodwill.
The Essence of Compassion: Gaushala and Gausewa
On Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi, giving charity is considered particularly auspicious. At Shree Krishnayan Gaushala, we embody this spirit of compassion by providing a sanctuary for over 21,000 destitute cows. These gentle beings, rescued from harsh and often life-threatening conditions, are given a second chance to live in peace and security. The gaushala offers these cows nutritious fodder — a wholesome mix of wheat, mustard cake, green grass, husk, and jaggery — along with plentiful water and wide spaces to roam freely.
Our dedicated team of gausewaks works day and night to care for the cows, ensuring they receive both love and medical attention from qualified veterinarians. By supporting such initiatives, you contribute directly to the well-being of these animals and align with the spiritual virtues of Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi, drawing blessings not only for yourself but also for these sentient beings.
How You Can Participate in the Spirit of Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi
Embracing the teachings of Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi goes beyond personal fasting and prayer. This Ekadashi, consider extending your compassion through an act of gausewa (service to cows) at Shree Krishnayan Gaushala. Every contribution, whether feeding a cow, adopting one for a lifetime, or donating toward her care, brings untold blessings and a sense of fulfillment, knowing that you have become part of something divinely inspired and larger than yourself.
The tradition of gausewa is deeply rooted in Hindu values, where caring for cows symbolizes nurturing life, nature, and spirituality. Many believe that by feeding cows, especially on such an auspicious day, they invite peace, prosperity, and positive energy into their lives. The satisfaction of supporting these gentle beings in a nurturing environment can make this Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi truly memorable.
Join Us in This Divine Cause
At Shree Krishnayan Gaushala, your support goes beyond ritual and transforms into a powerful act of kindness. Join us in observing this auspicious day with deep gratitude and compassion, and help us give thousands of helpless cows a chance to live with dignity and love. Together, let’s celebrate Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi in its true spirit — through devotion, service, and a commitment to protecting life.
In a world that often overlooks the vulnerable, Shree Krishnayan Gaushala offers an opportunity to be their voice, their protector, and their hope. This Dev Prabodhini Ekadashi, let your faith inspire action. Whether through fasting, prayer, or supporting a cow, each act of devotion brings us closer to the divine blessings of Lord Vishnu.
