my absolute favorite brand of comedy has always been & will always be needlessly controversial / shocking & ultimately stupid shit that touches on hot topics but lampoons them & doesn’t feel like a hollow attempt at some deep political message. it’s also essential to me that this happens without punching down at already oppressed groups. this is why I usually love shows like it’s always sunny in philadelphia blue mountain state south park etc but then there’s generally handfuls of episodes that I despise to my core in such shows

#this isn’t coming from anywhere it’s just that I’m attempting to lampoon some hot topics in happenstance & I hope I manage to be funny #so it got me thinking of what I personally find funny #tbh of the examples listed blue mountain state doesn’t have any EPISODES that make me mad #I have some issues with the finale #but it’s the movie that angers me #the show itself? eh it’s almost perfect so it can have its sliiiiiightly flawed finale #it’s always sunny is also almost perfect it’s like a small handful of specific episodes that I wish they’d apologize for #the trans stuff specifically & the black face crossed the line #South Park I used to adore it uncritically but I’ve become more sensitive or something #now some of it bothers me more than it used to idk lol #those are just my go to offensive fave shows idk 😂😂
