His plan to have them leave the cabin in Mammoth Lakes at 6AM so they’d be back in LA just in the early afternoon. While he was on vacation from NCIS, Deeks was working for the LAPD at the Rose Parade tomorrow and then the Rose Bowl.
The undercover unit had to send a few people over every January 1st to help with two huge events so Deeks always volunteered. Showing up for something most of the rest of the squad hated got Deeks some points from all of them. Plus, Deeks liked the parade – his Mom took him every year as a kid because New Year’s Eve was something old Gordo sort of controlled. Now, he was paid time-and-a-half to watch the people watch the parade. Nobody getting hurt means he did his job.
After the Parade, LAPD transports the officers working the parade to the Rose Bowl. He got moved to the VIP area after an old college buddy who worked in sports facility management saw him a few years ago. He’s there undercover – mixing and mingling with the VIPs - making sure nobody who shouldn’t be there somehow got in and making sure those who are supposed to be there behave. With Oregon playing, Deeks hoped to meet Phil Knight. Maybe he could get a pair of Jordans out of it.
But the plan to get back to LA took a turn around 8:30ish when they were on 395. Kensi saw a Denny’s and well, suddenly a Lumberjack Slam was in her future. And obviously his since he was driving. She got it as takeout with what looked like a gallon of orange juice. There was some breakfast sausage for a grateful Monty. He got a muffin, some fruit and a cup of coffee.
Another pitstop to clean out the truck and take Monty for a bio-break had them about an hour behind Deeks’s mental schedule.
“So, do we have a plan for the office?”
“Plan?”
“You know, for when we go back.”
“Well, I guess we go to the office, say hello to Callen and Sam. Ask Sam if Aiden is still home. Ask Callen if Joelle is still in the picture – probably need to find a better way to say that.”
“Deeks, be serious.”
“Well, you didn’t let me get to Nell or Eric yet. Or Hetty. Or Granger. I do wonder how he’s doing.”
“Be. Serious.”
“I. Am.”
“What are we going to tell them about us?”
“As little as possible.”
“That’s not in your nature.”
“That is exactly my nature.”
“Deeks, I say this with great affection, you talk all the time.”
“Thank you for the great affection. And I do talk all the time. But I’m pretty good at saying very little by saying a whole lot.”
Kensi sat for a second, opened her mouth and decided against whatever she was going to say. “So we say nothing.”
“Nobody’s business.”
“So our secret.”
“Not a secret, just not something I want to discuss with Eric, Hetty, Ty in IT.”
“What if Hetty wants to know?”
“Hetty’s not in the position she use to be. For good and for bad.”
“What does that mean?”
“She probably can’t send you halfway around the world again but I could go back to LAPD without Director Vance breaking a sweat.”
“So we keep things quiet.”
“No, we don’t flaunt things. Things were going on before this trip, things will keep going on after this trip.”
“That wasn’t firmed up before.”
He turned his head and looked right at her. “It was always firm for me.”
“Me too,” Kensi said with a big smile.
They drove a little while with the area looking a lot more like the California they knew and a lot less like the mountains.
“So what do I say if Trudy from accounting asks about my vacation.”
“That Trudy is the office busybody. Probably comes with being named Trudy.”
“And if I don’t have an answer, she’s fill in the blanks.”
Imitating Kensi, Deeks started, “Trudy, I went skiing with Deeks and Monty. And snowboarding. I was bad at that.”
“That’s a lie!”
“The bruises on your ass disagree.”
“They’re not bruises.”
“Kens…”
“The rental snowboard was cheap.”
“It’s a poor craftsman who blames his tools,” Deeks chided before going back to his Kensi imitation. “I went skiing and snowboarding with Deeks and Monty. He rented this great two-bedroom cabin right at the foot of the mountain. Two bedrooms are totally the way to go. We had such a great time.”
“We did.”
“And she doesn’t need to know that Monty used the other bedroom because the cabin stove in our room and the fireplace in the living room were bad for him.”
Kensi was quiet for a minute. “You would have been dangerous as a fulltime lawyer.”
He smiled. “The secret is to tell the truth, just tell the truth in the way that is best for your case.”

how old do you consider each character of the show? i believe you mentioned that you don't consider a lot of them canon
A lot of the 'canon' ages seemed to follow the ages of the actors (like House in season one saying Chase was 26-- iirc Jesse Spencer was 26 at the time), but those definitely don't fit in with the timeline it takes to get through med school. From what I've read (and I'm not in the medical field, so this is just going off of what I've read and heard from people who are in med school), it's like this:
-At least in the United States, most people finish their undergraduate degree at 22 or 23. We'll assume that all of the fellows went straight into med school instead of taking a gap year
-Medical school takes four years. That puts the youngest graduates at 26-27.
-Post-graduation, new doctors usually do a one-year internship (putting us at 27-28 by the time that's complete).
-After that, doctors will go through residency (which is 2-7 years of specialized training). After residency comes fellowship. So, if we go with the shortest possible options, the absolute youngest any of the ducklings could be while applying for a fellowship with House is 29.
Anyways, these are my headcanon estimates for the fellows' ages, based on both how long basic med school takes (plus a hand wavy estimate for residency), and the appearance of the actors:
Out of Cameron, Chase, and Foreman, I hc Foreman as the oldest (getting hired in his mid-thirties), Cameron in the middle (hired in early thirties, and about a year older than Chase), and Chase as the youngest (hired at 29-30ish, because of that call from his dad-- and I subscribe to the call from Rowan being him telling House NOT to hire Chase, LOL)
The season four trio: I'd guess that Taub is somewhere in his early to mid forties. I'd put Kutner in his early thirties when he's hired (32-33). And for Thirteen, Olivia Wilde was 24 when she started filming House, so she really has a baby face. Because of that I hc that Thirteen's the baby of the group and that House's fellowship is the first one she applied for after her residency, putting her in my hc's at 29 when she's hired.
Amber, to me, is in her mid to late thirties. 36-37, maybe?
HOWEVER, if you go by how long each residency program takes in real life (which I do not when I write my headcanons and fics, because canon is whatever we want it to be + I love found family/parent-kid dynamics + also a lot of the actors were WAY younger than doctors would be in real life), my estimates would definitely not be 100% accurate.

So This is Love || Age of Ultron 2: “Uncle Steve Knows Best”
“So This is Love” Masterlist
Previous Chapter || Next Chapter
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
My foot tapped against the floor to the light upbeat tune playing from the elevator's speakers. Eyes, staring up at the rising number above the doors.
My mini-party didn't last long as my destination was only a floor above the helipad.
As soon as the doors opened, I was greeted by Steve's startled expression. "Y/N," he said my name like it was unnatural to find me in my own home.
"Mister Rogers!" My hand shot up in a mock salute.
He shook his head. "You make me sound like the old guy from that kid's show you used to watch," he chuckled.
"I'm not too far off," I shrugged smugly. Although my smile fell as the elevator doors began to shut, making me squeeze through at the last minute.
Steve only laughed. "You calling me old, kiddo?" He jerked his head up towards the stairs, indicating that I follow him.
"Does it really count as being old if you've been asleep for like... a million years and still look young?" I partially joked as we traversed up the stairs.
"Sixty-six years," he scoffed. "And that depends on how you see it. I'm either 30ish or 100ish."
"So you're like my Uncle Grandpa?" I snorted.
"That sounds... Pretty lame. As you would say."
"I think it sounds cooler to brag about having an uncle who's a hundred years old and can still kick ass," I said, poorly imitating the punches I've seen him throw.
He laughed at me. "Don't say ass," he scolded, raising his hand to ruffle my hair to which I whined.
Silence washed over us and I turned around to find Steve had stopped halfway up the stairs. The smile he directed at me began to feel a bit forced if not beginning to feel pitiful.
"What?" I asked.
Then he asked me a question...
A question that seemingly came out of nowhere. A question I didn't expect to catch me off guard. A question that deprived me of the positive energy I felt when bantering with Steve just a moment ago.
"You doin' okay?"
"What do you mean?" I knew what he meant. I just wanted to be sure before I suffocate him with years of worry and anxiety.
"After what happened with Loki, you've been very..." He paused. "You've been around more. Not that having you around a lot isn't nice. I just can't see your dad without you tailing him like you're part of his shadow. Not to mention being the first face we see every time we land the jet."
I huffed, tilting my head up at the see-through walls of my father's lab. The same lab I was on my way to before our untimely encounter. A look of uncertainty replaced the one of worry on Steve's face.
"At first I thought it was puberty but I realized that was stupid." He continued to climb, catching up with me and putting an arm around my shoulders. "Come on. Tell uncle Steve what's wrong."
A small smile flashed on my lips for a mere second. "I... I'm scared... For my dad's well being," I answered. It wasn't what he was expecting but I wasn't sure if it was what I was expecting either.
"Of course. But there's something else, isn't there? You want to be able to do something more than just sit and wait each time we go out." Steve pushed on, pushing us along. I glanced up at the lab, seeing my dad and Bruce having their own conversation.
It got me thinking.
Being overprotective of my father because I couldn't help. Because of the barrier standing between me and being there beside him every time he went and faced whatever dangers were out there.
The same barrier that would've divided him from the rest of the Avengers if only he didn't have that damn suit...
And then it clicked.
I turned to look at Steve who seemed amused by the sudden shine in my eyes as I realized what I was missing this entire time.
"I wanna be an Avenger."
That, apparently, wasn't the answer Steve was looking for when the colour drained from his face.
But the adrenaline coursed through my veins at the revelation I had just made.
"I wanna have my own suit! So I can be part of the team and go on super cool missions with you guys and never have to worry about my dad ever again because I'll always be there!"
Steve dropped his arm from my shoulders and rapidly shook his head at that. "No, Y/N. That's not what I meant. You're only fifteen-"
"Why not? I learned Taekwondo when I was seven! With my dad's tech, I could be the next Iron Man! I'm gonna go!" I exclaimed, pushing past Steve and darting back down towards the elevator. "Thanks, Uncle Steve!"
"Y/N, wait!"
● ◉ ◎ ◈ ◎ ◉ ●
The next time I ever saw my dad after my talk with Steve was days later.
He and Bruce spent late nights in the lab, working on something they refused to let me know about.
I wasn't too upset. I was thankful it gave me time to build up the courage to ask him about a suit.
After all, it's what gave him the ability to fight with the Avengers. Plus they could always use the extra hand. I didn't know what else I could do if I couldn't look out for my dad with him on the front lines.
All I had to do was find him. The task already being a hassle as I struggled to get hold of Jarvis right as the party began. I waved it off as a delay, thinking it was my father showing him off to his guests.
I had bumped into every single person in the room except my father. Half the people already pulled me into lengthy conversations and jokes about my life as a modern-day Rapunzel having not left the tower since I was born. Some even tried to get me to put a good word in with my dad who I myself could not, for the life of me, find.
I was surprised he didn't spot me seeing as my pink dress made me stick out like a sore thumb. I wasn't particularly fond of it as it made me look half my age but it was something he designed so I didn't get lost in the sea of people.
Pretty ironic.
I was ready to give up, plucking a glass of red wine from one of the unguarded tables with no intention of actually drinking it, and aiming for a sofa to collapse into when I heard someone clear their throat to my right.
... Or cover up the word "Testosterone" with a forced cough.
I turned to where it came from and smiled seeing Maria and Rhodey walking away from Thor who was conveniently standing next to Tony.
"Hey! There she is!" my father pointed at me then squinted his eyes at the cup in my hand. "Is that wine?"
I eyed the people around me and quickly handed the glass to a random passerby before skipping towards the duo. "Not a drop, I swear," I ran a finger over my chest, crossing my heart.
He grumbled out, "Good. I don't want to see you turn out like I did."
"Thor! Have you greeted Thor?" He asked as quickly as a look of concern flashed on my face.
I shook my head and smiled at the god who was almost twice my height. "Good evening, sir," I spoke meekly.
Talking to Thor wasn't the most fun thing in the world. As easily as I get along with most of the team, Thor was just one of those I couldn't seem to keep a conversation with. Which was strange seeing as I would've loved to hear all about the realistic bits of Norse mythology.
"Greetings, young Stark..."
Silence...
Awkward silence...
Then a cough from my dad. "Alright. Hey, little Neoma! Uh- Thor, could you excuse us?"
I was pulled-... No, dragged by my dad by the heels of my peach-coloured doll shoes which scraped against the polished floorboards.
"I should put a tracker on you. That was a hell of a first hour," he joked as we stopped by a support beam.
I didn't have time to waste. Losing him now would mean spending ages finding him again. "Dad, I wanted to ask you something."
"Straight to the point. Go on." He leaned against the beam.
I took a deep breath. "Can I get fighting lessons?" I asked, already regretting it when the positive energy emitting from my father turned sour.
He didn't respond, trying to read my face for any hints that I was merely joking while at the same time trying to process an answer.
"What? Like self-defence stuff? Taekwondo? Or Karate?" He lifted his hand to mimic a chop, dropping it immediately and making it seem like he changed his mind halfway.
"... I want to learn to fight like Aunt Natasha and Uncle Steve. If not, I want a suit like yours so I can-"
"Are you joking?" He asked genuinely. "Is this a joke? Okay, I get it. It's payback for the whole 'sentient' thing, isn't it?" He laughed. "Because like hell am I gonna put my fifteen-year-old daughter in an Iron Man suit. Heck, even if you were thirty, I wouldn't put you in a suit."
I felt my heart sink, hands clenching at my sides. "I don't think I can spend another day with you risking your life out there while I'm in here not doing nothing to help whatsoever!" I argued.
"And I don't think I can spend even a second fighting and babysitting you, praying to God that when I come home, you come home with me... Alive and well," he spoke sternly, leaning in to make sure I heard him loud and clear over the party.
My breathing hitched as I did everything in my power not to cry right then and there. I opened my mouth to speak.
"You want fighting lessons? I'm finding you a trainer. For self-defense," he finished the conversation for us both.
My head began to ache, unable to situate my feelings and thoughts after the exchange with my father.
I never was good with emotions and feelings...
Wonder whose fault that was.
He sighed and spoke up again, this time in a kinder tone. "Look, Munchkin... We talked about this. What I'm doing is for your safety. I can't let the world go to shit when I know my little girl is in it..."
I frowned, dropping my eyes down to the shiny floorboards.
"I swore on my life that I'd be there to see you live yours. So don't ever worry about me not coming home. Because every time I find myself stuck in a situation I think I can't get out of, I remind myself..." He paused to run a hand through my hair softly, lifting my head to look me in the eyes.
Whatever he was about to tell me, I always knew the meaning behind the words was that he does everything for me. I just never understood to what extent.
I was always selfish. Always wanting the best of both worlds. Where our planet was guaranteed safety and I had my father with me. But I knew I had to accept whatever the conditions were, living under Tony Stark's roof.
So I was ready to ball my eyes out the moment he finished his heartfelt message.
"I'm not ready to leave all my money with Y/N."
I snorted, shoving his hand off my head and turning to wipe the stray tears that had escaped from the build-up.
"I hate you." He scoffed at that and put his drink down on a nearby counter to wrap both his arms around me.
"I don't think you do," he whispered when I returned his embrace. "Please listen to me when I say this, Neoma... I love you. And there isn't a day where I won't come back to you."
That's all I needed to hear.

ma’am it feels like it’s been DAYS since we last heard from you!!! give us an update. did you guys kiss again? did you do the do? did you meet his parents again? are you in love? updates NOW.
greetings!!
last night was super fun. i went over to his parents’ house and helped him babysit his youngest siblings. then we went on a long night walk and laid on the trampoline for another hour or so after that. kissing happened, touching happened. i thoroughly enjoy laying on top of him
today i picked him up after a meeting i had with an old professor. we went to the public library and then the campus library bc i wanted to show him a favorite study spot of mine. afterward we went back to his parents’ place. he had a box of mugs in his truck and let me choose whatever ones i wanted to keep. i’ll post a picture tomorrow of the one i chose. it’s still in my car but super cute. then we started shooting hoops, and i impressed him lol >.< i’m proud of myself for getting in a backwards swoosh… i haven’t played basketball in years, and he’s an athletic dude so it was fun. then we went to their farmhouse and watched howl’s moving castle and the first 30ish minutes of the karate kid. tons of cuddling ensued and more kissing. he’s so pretty guys, and i feel like i’m floating… like this is the guy i grew up liking. little me would be squealing if she knew we’d end up dating.
he’s such a cool dude, so respectful. i’m starting to loosen up a bunch too and act a bit wacky. examples: i randomly did an anime run and started making weird noises… he also laughs at shit i say when i’m not even trying to be funny, and i love that. at one point he asked what i was thinking about. i said nothing and my head was completely empty, which is a big fucking deal for someone with anxiety and ocd. i’m used to constant noise. it’s crazy how calming physical contact can be. we also had some serious conversation, and i think they went well. i feel so safe and comfortable with him.

mind drift 2
sitting on the ground with my back against the wall
smoking outside a concert hall between acts
analyzing peoples behavior's
a 40 year old man sits beside me, he is balding and is holding on to the very few follicles of hair he has left. i like to see his hair as resembling him being at a concert to feel like a 20 year old again. I came up with a lot of theories of why would he be at a random concert alone, then few minutes go by and he gets a call at 10:30ish pm. From what i can pick up, he has been waiting for someone since 8pm and i could just hear the desperation in his voice, so i figured it must have been a woman he was waiting for. Because if there is one thing i learned from men in society is they would do anything and everything if it means being touched by a woman or being seen by a woman. So i stopped analyzing the guy that is so clearly in his midlife crises and i lit a cigarette, i tried to give the person i was with a bit of insight of what i was thinking about because this whole time i have been completely silent. To no surprise the person seemed unamused at my thoughts and remarks that i had made at people, he chose to reply with ha that true or yeah followed with the usual fake laughter as if i was a comedian testing his jokes to his friend. I moved on and continued being silent and every time the person asked if i was okay i would just say i was tired and that works instantly (its funny how people notice you have a lot on your mind but you can get them off your back easily by acting a little and saying you're tired). I felt shame for every man and woman, boy and girl there everyone and i mean everyone was there to show off their body and outfits as if they were a lion seeking to mate, using their bodies as sex dolls in a sense, they reek of a smell only a few people can notice, i am one of the unlucky few. Whether its the men dancing around the foreigners and while dancing they would look at the foreigners to seek approval and if the foreigners made as much as a eye contact they would get the approval they were looking for and continue moving their bodies in a disgusting fashion that is full of sexual tension. Or the women that are more complex and come in different kinds that are there to see how many disgusting apes would look at them or make sexual remarks about them because this (in a sick and twisted way) would help with their self-esteem, you can pretty easily notice them by how they keep making eye-contact with the apes like their signaling them to turn on. But other women i feel sorry for, the ones that are there to prove to themselves they can wear and do whatever they want or in a different caliber the same ones but they are trying to get comfortable with their bodies because in their past one or few many people made comments about their fat arms or their big feet or or or..... so on and so forth. One of the many reasons i hate humans is we have this idea that we need approval from people whether we hate them or not as long as their higher up in the societal beauty standards then their comments are more valid then our own, it can reach a dangerous point if a person can not break that mindset and set their own beauty standards. Everyone and i mean everyone can rock whatever look they have, whether they have fat arms, big noses, big feet, big hands, small dicks, small ass, small tits whatever society made them to believe that that would be a fault, they can easily make it they're pretty side, they just have to love them selves and not care about anyone's opinions (easier said then done i know). on the topic of opinions i like to believe other peoples opinions come from inside our heads thus leading us to be ashamed of our looks. I like to admire beauty in all forms, and nothing is prettier than someone confident and beautifying their natural looks. Sending love love love to everyone and every-thing but on a real note i want to kill yall humans and make you emotionless and full of ideas that can never harm us.

So this morning, I had a vivid dream about an old tumblr post that im not sure if it was even a real thing but it sparked an idea for a sequel to Lilo & Stitch the tv show and think you all would enjoy it
Imagine turning on disney channel/going to disney+ and seeing a lilo and stitch show except now, lilo is the adult. Shes like 25-30ish and she's a single mother of her daughter. She had a husband once but he died a year to five years ago so she's been single parenting ever since. (Technically this is based off of an episode of the anime where Lilo has a daughter and no father is mentioned. But we are ignoring the entirety of the anime both because I never watched it since it didn't air in the US and also because it changed the setting to japan and made lilo randomly abandon stitch when she went to college so fuck that.) anyways, Stitch is still around of course and is the comic relief of every episode mostly though can have his heartfelt moments as he always has. Jumba, Pleakley, and Nani (and David assuming they are still together), while not a part of the show generally, may have some cameo appearances along with other characters from the original show/movies but the main show is centered on Lilo and her daughter's adventures.
And what are those adventures? I imagine they aren't quite as fantastic as looking for experimental aliens like the original. Instead it would be more centered around their day to day lives and parenting and the fantastical made up adventures they have together where it sometimes gets revealed that some of the adventures Lilo is "making up" for her daughter to play as are actually based on real things Lilo does/did at her job working with the government after Bubbles got her a job there before his retirement. So fun fake trips to space and fighting aliens.
But also I had a very vivid part of the idea about a single specific episode. And it basically went like this. Its morning and Lilo barely wants to get out of bed despite her normal chipper self. Eventually her daughter comes in and jumps on her to wake her up. Lilo obviously is nice to her daughter but is clearly exhausted despite just waking up so her daughter tells her to stay in bed and that she'll bring her some breakfast. So we get a little shenanigans as stitch goes to "help" as usual and they make a mess of the kitchen. After a bit Lilo comes out because she heard a crash only to see the two of them absolutely covered in food and the kitchen a disaster and in a bit of frustration, Lilo yells at her daughter. The daughter immediately tears up and Lilo realizes what she just did and tries to apologize and they start cleaning the kitchen.
Next scene is later in the day and Lilo is working on a computer in the living room or something and her daughter is playing with stitch/a toy and having fun but being very loud. Lilo is visibly upset by it and almost lashes out again before realizing and stopping herself and going off to another room to make a phone call.
More episode happens with whatever the B plot is, and then when we are back focused on the family again, there is a knock at the door. It's Nani (and David?) who have come to look after Lilos daughter for the day while Lilo leaves.
Its around then/shortly later that we find out why Lilo is acting so weird. Its the 1 or 5 year anniversary of the death of her husband? Baby daddy? Boyfriend? Whatever he was to her. And she is struggling on her own and trying to keep a brave face for her daughter (who obviously misses her father but they don't really talk about him because its so hard).
Eventually Lilo talks to someone, Nani? David? A new character we would have been introduced to in the show? Stitch via his limited speech and hand movements? Whoever who basically reminds her that, like. Yeah its hard to talk about him, but today would probably be easier for her if she could share things about him with their daughter, and also that while her daughter might be a happy kid, she's probably also missing her father too.
The episode ends with Lilo taking her daughter to his grave and they hug and cry and Lilo starts telling the daughter a story about before he had died which she is thankful for since they never talk about him. Lilo vows to tell stories about him to her more often and the episode comes to a close with stitch doing something lighthearted like falling out of a tree on them or asking for a snack or whatever.
Anyways, it probably would only last a season and also Disney would never make it as it feels aimed more towards the adults who grew up watching lilo and stitch than it does aimed towards Disney's target demographic of 4-12 year olds. But i felt the need to share

Plot Twist I finished s3 of TMNT 2003 today and man do I have a lot to say.
warning: this post is going to be long. I watched 14 episodes today somehow
- ok so I didn’t watch the cristmas ep today but I just wanna say real quick. If they were waiting on Mikey for hours why didn’t they call him? He has a phone
- anyways the first ep I watched to day was The Lesson
- *flashback montage of Master Splinter telling the turtles not to go to the surface*
April: so what did you guys do?
Leo: oh we went to the surface immediately
- how did young Casey not notice the turtles had green skin + 2 fingers? How does no one ever notice that?
- Angel :)
- it’s nice to see her again
- Bejing is still floating in the sky?? I had thought it was lowered back down to earth when New York was
- Karai :)
- oh Professor Honeycutt isn’t dead
- wait the turtles didn’t know the underground ancient civilization was Atlantis?? I thought they knew?? I thought they already outright said that
- ok so I watched these episodes today. But I watched 14 of them. So I don’t remember which episode some things happened in :/
- how old is Renet? I feel like she’s about the turtles’ ages given how she looks + acts
- ^ she just kinda gives off the general vibe of being a teen
- so the Draco-Ultimate Ninja fusion thing was. Uh. Well, I didn’t expect that
- hmm I can’t think of anything to say about Hun on the Run, but it was a neat episode
- ok so now for episodes Reality Check - The Real World pt 2
- um. What the hell
- I.
- skshskshsjshsk
- first off Ultimate Draco or whatever they’re called is not pleasing to look at, but I think that was the point. So good job to whoever designed them, they’re really ugly
- aight so Mikey was just saying how he loves comics + superheroes and then he gets sent to a dimention where he + his brothers are superheroes
So Mikey is having an awsome time! Good for him! When Ultimate Draco sent them to different dimentions I was worried they were all going to have horrible times
- Raph had been working on his motercycle and he gets sent to a dimention w a planets-wide motercycle race
And he gets to ride one of the motercycles! And wins 2 races! So Raph is also having a good time, good for him :)
- w hat the f u c k.. .
- so Donnie seems to have been sent to a dystopian future where everything sucks instead of a different dimention
- what did Donnie do to deserve this :(
- I. Ok but like genuinely. Is he traumatized now?? I feel like that would be a traumatizing experience.
- one second he’s at home w his family + the next second he’s in the ruins of his home + Mikey lost an arm? + it’s been over 30 years?? + the Shredder has taken over the world?! + Master Splinter, his dad, is dead. + Leo and Raph got into a worse fight than usual and both decided to go solo or something. + Raph is missing an eye?? + Leo has tons of scars + the world is just in general a disaster. + so he wants to try and make things better. So he reunites his brothers and makes a plan to take down the Shredder. And so they attack the Shredder. + then Mikey dies. + then Leo dies. + then Raph dies. + the plan succeeds, the Shredder is defeated, but all his family is dead. They won but he’s the only one left. His brothers lie on the battlefield, dead. And then suddenly he’s standing next to his brothers, the same age as him again, alive and just how he last saw them
- like?????????? I thought this was a kid’s show what the f u c k?????????????????
- also he had no way of knowing he’d be brought back to his time. As far as he knew he had to live in that miserable future forever with all his family dead and himself 30+ years behind
- like. Excuse me????????? Someone please get him some therapy :(
- I just. Like. You can’t just go through that and then be fine afterwards
- ok moving on to my thoughts other than Donnie Needs Therapy Now
- Karai had fully grey hair which makes me think she’s somewhere around 60 in this episode, does that mean she’s 30ish in the normal episodes??
- the wiki won’t tell me how old anyone is so I have to guess for everyone :( the only ones I kinda know how old they are is the turtles bc they’re teenage mutant ninja turtles, it’s literally in the title they’re teens
- please get Donnie some therapy
- I don’t think I will ever recover from this episode
- also apologies for the swears, I just cannot comprehend this episode
- this episode was really dark.
- moving on because I do have thoughts on the rest of the episodes
- Leo gets to go to Usagi’s dimension + visit his friend :)
- absolutely wonderful for Leo! He gets to hang out with his bestie and fight bad guys! All in all a good experience :)
- Usagi’s dimension is kinda saturated. This might just be compared to the battle nexus one, but I thought it was interesting
- Leo is why his brothers were glitchy in their episodes! I had not thought that was why
- so can Ultimate Draco shapeshift then? And what happened to the real Gyuji (I think that was his name)? He had fallen into the portal, too
- what happened to the Daimyo?
- ok I think that’s it for those episodes. So now the last 3 of the season
- I think it’s safe to say I hate Bishop
- literally what the shell my dude
- is he human? That’s a genuine question, he doesn’t seem to be human.
- ok so. Could they have theoretically had Donnie + Professor Honeycutt secretly mess w the spaceship so that it’d like. Explode or stop working or something once it reached space so that the Shredder wasn’t on earth but also wasn’t a danger to every other planet. Or would that be too risky + likely to fail?
Just wondering ‘cause I kinda thought they were gonna do that at first
- the Shredder literally told Karai about his Very Evil plans to take over the galaxies and murder innocents. Karai, bestie, please tell me you can tell he’s evil
- it looked like she stabbed Leo in the gut, how was that his shoulder??
- so.. remember how just the other episode Donnie saw all his brothers die? Well, Leo just got stabbed and then proceeded to lie unconscious on the ground for several minutes. I feel like that’d be kinda terrifying
- just saying. Please give Donnie some therapy
- so. If the Shredder directly caused millions of innocents to die. Wouldn’t he get the death sentence?? Like. I don’t know what crimes get what punishments but I was pretty sure that if you on purpose got millions killed then you got the death sentence. Is it so that the Shredder can come back again later?
- Karai, bestie, I get he raised you. But did you miss the part where he causes millions of people to die? Also he’s not even dead.

So the story of Katrianne Allard!
Mrs. Allard was born in Nice, France in 1907, the Kingslayers equivalent to 1940 because Kingslayers is in a different time. She was directly descended from two powerful French magic families, the Allards and the Fontaines. She had two younger sisters named Ines and Blaise (who have their own stories to be told another time.)
Katri (as she was called) grew up to be a very pretty young woman, who was also a powerful ice mage (thats the Fontaine blood, baby!) She often used this magic to put on little magic shows for young folk. She also met and married a young man named Antoine Le Clerk.
Some time passed, and word of Ms. Allards snowy spectacles spread. Eventually she was performing on stages at local theaters. When she was about 29, she caught the attention of a Magic Sponsor. Back then, they had a lot of magic shows where mages would show off their powers, and a Magic Sponsor was basically just their agent. W/e, she was offered a chance to join one such magic show company, where she could perform all over France, to which she accepted.
After this, her fame only grew and grew by the years, until her name could be heard all around the country, telling stories . At some point, she started catching a bit of international attention. The magic shows were really taking off in the US, and another Magic Sponsor wanted a piece of the pie. She was like "c'mon madame Kat, you're gonna make SO much money" or whatever.
And so, in 1943, Katrianne emigrated to Main, with her husband and two daughters Lisey and Nic, ready to start up in America.
It didn't take long for Ms. Allard to become famous again, and the Americans lost their freakin marbles over her. (i should also mention at this point that katrianne could speak english, she started learning when she was about 30ish) Her stunts WOWed the people. And why wouldn't they?-- Who wouldn't want to see a woman create 20ft ice pillars before effortlessly leaping on them, and then make a slide to slide down while standing up? In HEELS somehow?? Occassionally, she would even duel with other mages.
This, combined with the fact she was a very nice woman and also uh HOT (cough), kept her on the radar for 12 whole years. She also donated most of her earnings to charities surrounding domestic violence and animal shelters. She did many interviews as well, usually for stuff like 'The New Ampster Times' and 'Magical Monthly' (a magazine about the happenings in the magic world). She still did magic shows in France, along with other countries.
Tragedy struck, however, on June 2nd, 1955. A 48 year old Katrianne was having a duel with a fellow celebrity mage, Jessica Whitefield (b. 1923), which Katrianne's daughter Nic had decided to attend. They were having a blast, cuz the duels weren't usually done out of hatred but more to put on a spectacle. Katri was stood atop an ice pillar, and Jessica fired off a snowball full of jagged ice at her. Now, Katri was meant to dodge this, and jump onto another ice pillar she had created. However, she slipped a bit when she leapt, causing her to lose focus.
And so, in front of Jessica, Nic, and 10 000 audience members, Katri fell 25 feet to her death.
It was a death felt everywhere. Many fans and fellow celebrities mourned her death, and her grave was absolutely covered in flowers. Her death hit her family the hardest (of course), especially poor Nic. Jessica Whitefield ended up quitting the magic show business just over a year later.
In the present, Katrianne still has a good bit of influence. There's an animal sanctuary in Augustville (capital of maine in kingslayers) named after her, and a statue of her in Nice. She is still talked about quite a bit in reference to the history of magic shows, and gets featured in documentaries on the matter. Also she sometimes gets called a sex symbol i guess
Either way, she ended up being Mason's grandmother, which is also pretty cool.

Good news! The bulk of the last episode is a fight scene, so it’s immune to the worst of the bad parts of the show.
Bad news, not all of it is.
Now there actually are quite a few good moments, but they’re fleeting moments. Hopefully you enjoy them enough that you still enjoy the episode overall. Unfortunately, I’m at a point where I don’t want to see Grogu again. I’ll probably see the next show whatever it is, but I Do Not Care what happens to Grogu anymore. Din has a support system now, they can help him grieve if something bad happens. I might have still liked most of it if the beginning of the episode wasn’t filled with almost everything I didn’t like in the show. There were so many things that were exactly my kind of bullshit.
Fennec does not work as the exposition dump character. I don’t know if it’s the direction, or if Ming-Na decided to give a subpar performance for some reason (if she did I hope it was out of spite). Honestly her exposition scene at the beginning and last episode made me wonder if she’s actually the only one being filmed at the time and they cg’d her in esp since Disney is notorious for cging the laziest things. She’s good in the entire rest of the episode and even has probably the best part in the ep, but the beginning of the ep is just “meh.”
And then Boba. Mr. Fett I love you, but maybe don’t take battle advice from the extremely young biker gang that might be literal children? (I don’t remember how old they are, nor do I care) You don’t.....you don’t protect a city but luring an army to the city. I honestly can’t think of a good doylist reason to have the battle be in the city rather than at the palace where they can control the flow of battle better, especially since by making their stand in the city they’re putting all the civilians at risk. People died because they chose to hide out in the city. Half the city was destroyed by Boba’s rancor because they chose to hide in the city.
Boba does ride the rancor and it is indeed awesome. Other really cool things are Boba and Din vs the Pyke Syndacite’s army, a weird but delightful side character ship (that I honestly hope is broken off before either of them show up again), Fennec showing off why she’s the best assassin, Cad Bane literally just hanging around to bully Boba and Boba busting out his gaffi skills again. There also some moments with Grogu that are genuinely good, but I’m also quite bitter about him and Din hijacking the show for two episodes.
There’s also this line that’s supposed to be super dramatic with Cad Bane going “I KNEW you were a killer!” to Boba and it just...... Look. The first thing we ever knew about Boba Fett was that he kills people. He’s been a killer, this is not some revelation. The show keeps going on about how Boba needs to get his hands dirty and it’s weird but workable with Fennec, because she’s friends with Boba and is aware that he’s trying to change. But from Cad Bane it’s hilarious hearing him call the guy Vader was all “NO DISINTIGRATIONS” at a killer like it was some big condemnation. I guess they never crossed paths in the 30ish years between when they saw each other in Clone Wars and now.
Oh I forgot, even though the writing is rather cringe, there’s something beautiful about Boba telling Cad that he can’t bully him anymore bc he’s not a little boy anymore.
Ming-Na and Temura deserved so much better. They’re both so good and they really do give much better performances than the crap they were given deserves.
I had thought of maybe doing a rewrite, but I don’t think I could write the changes I’d want well enough to be happy with it and I don’t want to rewatch the show. Maybe I’ll just throw up an outline. Maybe two, one with the same major beats as the show and one with them altered slightly more.
Ugh what was even the point of having the rancor rampage? All it did was undermine Boba and prop up Grogu.

Sneak Peak!! This will be a Cake Walk (oneshot)
Here’s the full fic...finally: https://archiveofourown.org/works/33658105
This takes place in my JGLEH universe (https://archiveofourown.org/series/1415002) but this oneshot could be read as a standalone :)
Enjoy!
August 7th, 2019.
That was the date that this year’s birthday fell on. Technically it was the first wednesday of August, since this month started on a Thursday, but it was basically the second week of August, so they’d let it slide. Besides the 14th of August seemed like a good date, but Ned and MJ were just so anxious to finally be spending a birthday with their best friend, because it had been 2 years since they last had - well more Ned than MJ, MJ was cool with anything.
So here they were, lounging around Peter’s - and his parent’s - little apartment/penthouse/whatever-this-place-they-were-living-was-classfied-as in Stark tower, eating junk food and marathoning Voltron - every variation of it, eating a slightly melted ice cream cake MJ bough - they bought an entire sheet cake this time, instead of a small one because Ned and MJ got paychecks now and Peter has the metabolism not to waste it.
Different location, same traditions. Sure the atmosphere of the tower was not as cozy as Ned’s cramped living room or MJ’s box apartment, but they made do. They dulled the settings on the floor to ceiling window that took up an entire wall and viewed over the city. They cuddled in blankets and made an entire pillow fort, and they made it surround them so they were forced to be closer together.
They would’ve invited everyone else in the tower, but his official birthday wasn’t until the 12th and Peter’s sure they had something planned. He kind of just wanted to keep this serenity of the three of them, even if he felt a little guilty about being exclusive. It was worth it.
It felt right.
Keeping his old traditions while preparing for the new ones that he was bound to make this year.
He hadn’t celebrated his birthday with the Avengers last year, because it was the date of the trial and he hadn’t been living with them at the time, even if like a week later he was. Everything had been so hectic and moving too fast that his birthday had barley been on any of their minds. He had spent the night with Wade and Matt goofing off in and out of their costumes though - the aults getting thoroughly plastered and Peter thinks it was only 60% for his amusement.
It was an enjoyable night. Or at least it it was shaping up to be. He liked the chill vibes that they had managed to create. It was almost like they were hanging out just like any other day, and not celebrating Peter being one year away from being a legal adult - in America at least.
His parents had walked in around 11:30ish, and they just were about to pass without looking twice at the kids lounged around and the mess of stolen blankets and pillows they probably didn’t know they owned - and they didn’t own most of them, again they were temporarily stolen, he’d give them to their respective owners again...eventually...maybe.
Ned had greeted them absently, because he was polit like that, and Nat smirked fondly at them, watching them out of the corner of her eye, while Bucky turned and nodded in acknowledgment, lips quirking up for a second at the scene. MJ gave a salute as she had a chip half in her mouth.
“Russian → ”(Hey, guys.) Peter said absently, not really looking at them as he leaned forward to grab another slice of melted cake. And that’s when Natasha paused for a second, looking frozen. Bucky had just barley managed to ram into her. It was a slight action but it made Peter pause and look up in confusion and slight alarm. His spidey sense wasn’t going off, but Nat had that look on her face where she kept it carefully neutral to not give anything away. Peter turned his head to them and sat up a bit, Ned and MJ seemed to pick up on his vibes because a moment later MJ had shifted into a slightly more alert slouch and that was followed by Ned swiveling his head to look confusedly between everyone while trying - and failing, but it’s okay Ned you are still a precious bean child that will be protected by everyone here - to be subtle about it, his anxiety kicking in a bit. “What’s up?” he said trying to maintain a casual tone. If it was an emergency, he’d know, they would’ve been more on edge. It was more likely that they had gotten taken off guard by something - which was only barley more comforting, since they usually were never taken off guard by much.
Bucky had trained his eyes on Nat, so Peter did the same. She darted her eyes quickly to something next to him and then back to Peter, Bucky followed her gaze and kept it locked on the thing she was looking at. Peter slowly moved his head to where Bucky’s eyes were trained and looked down to see the mostly melted cake, with the watery, sloppy lettering that was supposed to spell out “Congrats on not dying spider dweeb” and then a messily drawn spiderman logo, but they had eaten the cake in a way that it said “C---ats o- ying- ider dw-b” and part of the logo was cut outso it was only the lens’ of the mask showing. Peter then moved his eyes back up to Natasha, still confused over why she was so still about it.
“I thought you're birthday was the... 12th.” Her tone was still carefully neutral, but Peter could detect some tension that his friends probably didn’t pick up on. Bucky definitely did though. It almost seemed like it was hard for her to get that out, for some reason.
Peter cocked his head. “Well yeah officially.” he said. Something seemed to click for Bucky and he looked to Peter and his friends again.
“It’s the 7th.” Bucky said, in a much more genuine neutral tone.
“Yeah, it is.” MJ said sarcastically, but she seemed to tone her usual snark down a bit. Peter was inexplicably grateful for that, for some reason.
“We celebrate it on the second Wednesday of August though.” Ned explained. He had told them the story of how he officially got his birthday with Wade and the army camps earlier that day, because Ned had asked if there was a story he was previously unable to tell them. He had told them the whole truth and they accepted it without any preamble. At this point they had heard so many messed up stories about his childhood that the initial shock and horror reaction had dialed down. At first - when he first started telling them about his past that he had to keep a secret, even without all the spidey stuff like the White room and Special Forces - Ned had been in tears nearly every time and MJ would close off almost to the point of dissociation. But after nearly a year the most reaction he’d get was MJ’s concerned eyeroll and Ned’s shift so they bumped shoulders or they were closer. Still, the birthday story did get a hug out of Ned and MJ to shift a tad closer.
Bucky’s eyes flicked to Natasha and his shoulders slumped like he was holding in a sigh “Why?” Bucky asked after a beat of silence, maintaining the same casual light tone.
“Some stupid thing Wade made up.” Peter shrugged and fought the urge to look away. Why did he feel so weird about this? “Something about sticking it to the man, or society or the government or whatever.” he said looking down at his cake and putting a small bite in his mouth that he could talk around. “We did it every year and then we did it with Ned and MJ and it just stuck. It’s not a big deal, we just chill.” he mumbled more than said. There was a long pull of silence between them, with only the sounds of Allura explaining some complicated space matter to the team of palidins on the screen.
When Peter finally had the urge to look up he found himself looking at the tail end of his mother going into her bedroom and quietly shutting the door. He looked at the door for a moment then at Bucky who was doing the same, but he sighed and shot him and his friends one last supposedly reassuring smile, as if to say ‘as you were’ - it did not have it’s desired effect- and then follow after his partner, opening and shutting the door softly.
That was weird.
Peter just looked at the door for a few moments, not really sure how to feel about that. He felt his friends’ gazes on his back, and it almost felt like they had no clue what to do with that strange interaction either. It hadn’t left bad vibes, but it hadn’t really left any good ones either.
He turned back to the movie, MJ and Ned seemingly following his lead and going back to marathoning. But instead of listening to Keith and Lance’s 143th argument of the show, he was listening to the quiet murmurs coming from the room. Loud enough that Peter could pick up on the sound with his enhanced hearing but too soft to actually make any words out.
Eventually, after about 10 minutes of not knowing what was up and the feeling something was off still lingering in his mind, he stood up and made his way to the door. HIs confused friends’ gazes followed him up and to where he was walking.
“Be right back.” he said absently before entering the room and closing the door just a quietly as his parents’.

Braving the Elements
Chapter 16: Truth Comes Out
Part 2/2
Tw: Swearing
Authors notes: see part one!
Two weeks pass, and you're sitting on the couch with your feet on Bucky’s lap when Tony calls you saying you could finally listen into the interrogation as he was at a loss for what to do next.
“What if it’s just the back molars he doesn’t even need those or his pinky fingers?” you ask, wiggling your fingers in Tonys face.
“No.” Tony replies.
“Then he’s not gonna say anything Steve just take him away, let him rot for a bit. Maybe he’ll talk if we don't let him look in a mirror for 24 hours.”
“One last thing captain” Roman says as Wanda's escorting him out of the room. “Have you ever asked her why she left that stupid school? Maybe you should”
Steve ignores Roman obviously exasperated by the man, but Wanda tenses up something that doesn't go unnoticed by Tony.
“Oh and please pass along a message to my dearest Eve, would you? Tell her an apocalypse is coming and there’s nothing she can do to stop it, in fact she’ll be the one leading it”
Hearing the line your blood runs cold, and your stomach drops.
“What did he just say?” you ask, replaying the tape. Shaking your head back and forth
“That’s impossible.Tony, I think we’re in deeper shit than we thought.”
You’re in the kitchen, having just left the interrogation, when Wanda burst in furious. “So you’ve been hiding something else from us! Why did you leave, you said you wanted to see the world, but it never made sense you didn’t bring me or Alex or Jean, you took all your shit and left! You weren’t planning on coming back were you?”
“Wanda it’s not important!” you yell back
“You left me there! You were my best friend and you just left, just stop lying and tell me the truth for once, please!” she begs rage induced tears forming in her eyes.
“Fine , Wanda I’m sorry I just didn’t think it was information that needed to be shared” you say, pouring yourself a substantial glass of rum and swigging it down in one. Your tiff seemed to have caught the attention of the rest of the team. Who were not so inconspicuously observing from the living room.
“He’s right I left for another reason I went to find someone.” You state calmly, pouring another drink.
“Who?” she says crossing her arms
“Someone who I thought could help. Rogue had said something about a guy who could get rid of a mutant's powers.” You look off to the side
“Why the hell would you want to do that ?” Wanda asks
“You know why.” You retort quietly.
“I don’t think I do.” She says, you know you have to get it all out now. You finish your drink before responding.
“I thought, I just thought maybe, if I could stop being like this that I could.” You pause for a moment shaking your head, mouth open looking for the right words. “I thought maybe my family would want to meet me. That I could live with them, be a part of a real family or whatever. Maybe if I was normal then somehow I could be seen as someone worthy of their love.” You exhale, refusing to make eye contact with Wanda, as you wipe away a single tear. When you finally look up Wanda’s face isn’t mad anymore and she walks over to you taking your face in her hands.
“You have a family now, just not a biological one. You don’t need your parents' love, you have mine, and Nats and everyone’s in this room.” She hugs you. You stay like that for a while, but the moments slightly ruined by all the stares coming from the living room.
“Alright shows over! Ya I’ve got some abandonment issues but hey what kid whose parents sold them to a lab doesn't?”
“Thank god now I can ask, what happened next?” Tony says, sitting down at the bar.
“Well before I could go and see this guy, Magneto found me, stopped me, told me not to give up my powers. When I told him I was gonna do it anyway he showed me what was really happening. This guy, he wasn’t taking powers away from the mutants. He was absorbing their powers, killing them. He wanted to end the world but he wasn’t powerful enough on his own. He figured that it would be the mutants with the most lethal powers wanting to get rid of them, and he was right. So he took them, as many as he could, telepathy, telekinesis, power manipulation, teleportation, astral projection, immortality to name a few”
“Who was this guy?” Sam asks.
“No one knows that’s the thing he called himself Apocalypse, but no one’s heard from him in years, not since Charles took him down 30ish years ago.”
“Alright well we’ll continue to try and find intel and go forward from there.” Nat says dialing the number for SHIELD as she walks out the room.
“You guys need to understand he’s like nothing I’ve ever seen before, he scared Magneto even and that’s not easy to do. Be careful. If we know about him he sure as hell knows about us and if he can give powers to people now we can’t trust anything or anyone we think we know.”
“Copy that, Rogers, Barnes with me we need to up the security on Roman.” Tony says. Bucky glances back at you for just a second before disappearing with Tony and Steve.
You’ve just about fallen asleep when Wanda rushes into your room.
“Visions picked up something, it was him, Apocalypse, he’s tracking us, me and you. I have to go tell Tony, stay here don’t do anything stupid.” exiting as quickly as she came.
As she leaves you hear a voice in your head “Y/N. Come and find me.”
“Where are you? What do you want” you ask
“The first place we met. Come find out the truth, the whole truth.” the voice says. Without thinking you get dressed and grab your keys leaving a note stuck to the fridge. 'Be back soon, gone to see an old friend.'

Man I agree Tom is a really great and enjoyable actor but I dont see him playing Nate. I mean why cast an actor that played a 16 year old as Nathan drake who presumably was 30 years old in the first game . There is an article online that calculates his age in each game . Not that it is wrong but Tom became famous worldwide for playing spider man a teen superhero so casting him as a 30ish protagonist seems off .
The best that I can think of it that it’s going to be his somewhat origin story where it shows what happened when he was in Columbia and met Sully because he was, what? 15? 16 when that happened?
Okay, never mind, apparently it’s taking inspiration from the 4th game, in which Nathan... is like... pushing 40, but yeah. At the end of the day, though, it’s the studio’s decision, we can’t do much about it. I have no doubt that Holland’ll do fine, but I do wish it was someone older.
(Also Matt Damon as Sully is another casting choice I don’t understand, but whatever laskfjaklsd)

Daddy Hair Care - Chapter 3
Chapter 2
Chapter 3 - Stop Trying To Make Fetch Happen:
“Your hair looks cute like that,” Chris commented, taking note of yet another new hairstyle Kayla wore.
She and his stylist, Lauren walked into his suite with their kits in tow, ready for his glam session for his final appearance for the day; a magazine press event that his publicist had urged him to attend to crystalise his relationship with the publication.
“I sense a little shade in there, because why are you only just noticing?” Kayla retorted. “Was that a backhanded compliment, Evans?”
“I meant,” Chris paused to rectify his carelessly worded statement, even though he genuinely meant the compliment. “I haven’t seen you with braids before, so I’m appreciating that your hair also looks cute like that. Emphasis on the also,”
“Okay, I’ll take it, only because you’re sweating,” because teasing him was Kayla’s love language.
“And why would I be sweating? You don’t make me nervous -”
“You don’t need to explain yourself to me,” Kayla cut him off and smiled at him from across the room.
“Are you going to be annoying again this evening?” he pretended not to like their little quips.
This was just a continuation from earlier when they had glammed him for his Jimmy Fallon interview, where the two went back and forth in their best bid to verbally outdo each other, as usual.
“Hi to you too Chris,” Lauren finally inserted herself, smiling at him knowingly as she brushed past him.
“What?” Chris eyed her, playing dumb.
Ten years of working together they had become best friends and they could literally communicate with just their eyes. This was working to Lauren’s advantage as she often found pleasure in tormenting him about his teen-like crush on Kayla. He would dismiss it with an eye roll, but his body language would always sell him out.
“You know what,” she mumbled but the knowing smile was still plastered on her face solely designed to haunt him.
“Whatever,” he grumbled. “Think I could shower real quick before we start? I’m covered in gunk from the Fallon interview,”
“Sure, we have an hour before you have to be out of the door,” Lauren nodded, the clock reading 5:37pm.
“You know, I’m getting tired of you two acting like I’m not around when you flirt,” Lauren said the minute she heard the shower faucet run after Chris had left the room.
Kayla barely looked up as she unzipped her grooming kit bag, setting up near her usual spot by the window for optimal lighting.
“Here we go again with this tired topic,”
“Exactly, guess who’s tired of watching you two flirt and do nothing about it,” Lauren asked rhetorically before imitating Chris, “Your hair looks cute like that,”
Kayla chuckled, not convinced but found her hand subconsciously going to touch her new braids, “He’s mocking me, he saw me earlier before Fallon and didn’t say anything,”
“In his defense, there were a lot of people around for him to say anything, that’d been weird,”
Kayla had been working with Chris as his hairstylist and make-up artist for almost four months now. She had fit into the team so seamlessly, with all credits due to Chris for being so welcoming and warm. But therein lay the problems: he was over-achingly good looking, and by far the best celebrity client she had worked with. So much so that the four months she’d known him breezed by and she seemed to fall for his charm every day. Every morning she woke up, she felt like a teenager excited to go to school because she got to sit next to her crush in class. Except with Chris, she got to play in his hair and get extremely close to his face. And touch him. Getting paid for it was seeming more like a perk.
Everyone around them seemed to notice how well they got along. With Lauren being around them the most, she recognised their chemistry instantly and was the first one to call them out on it. Despite being met with their discomfort and denial, she didn’t let it stop her from continuing her torment. If they were going to flirt and act like she didn’t exist, then she too could have her own fun with them.
“This whole convo is so weird, let it rest,” Kayla complained.
“You like him, he likes you. What’s weird?”
“Sure he likes me, I’m clearly his type,” Kayla rolled her eyes sarcastically. “Seriously, don’t you get bored of this subject?”
“You are his type,” Lauren affirmed with a ‘duh’ tone.
“Okay Lauren, if you say so.”
“Lest you forget his daughter Mya is-”
“Mixed race? So suddenly he likes all black women?” Kayla laughed.
“No, I’m disproving your theory that he doesn’t date black women. Besides, you, have entertained this conversation hence you do care and which means you do like him,”
Kayla pursed her lips before stuttering, “I...look, he’s hot, granted and a nice guy, but that’s about it. Celebs are not my type, too much drama and baggage,”
“That’s a sweeping statement,” Lauren was clearly in defense of Chris.
“Why’d you keep pushing for this anyway? What’s in it for you?”
“He hadn’t been himself for a while, his old self has resurfaced since you started working with him. It’s just…nice y’know? To have the real Chris back,” Lauren said solemnly. “I just want him to be happy,”
“I love my job and would never cross that line with Chris, besides, he’s a good friend,” Kayla said, barely believing herself.
She also didn’t believe Lauren, the last time something of this sort happened, was in high school with the popular kid and that didn’t end well.
So why would it be different with Chris? He was practically the popular guy from the moment the final Avengers: Infinity War trailer was released; the man had been trending on Twitter for almost a week.
After a few minutes, he reemerged from his room from his shower, looking handsome and cuddly as ever, just wrapped in his hotel robe. He sat in the chair by the window, enjoying the view of the city as Kayla began her magic on him, her back to the mirror next to the floor-to-ceiling window he faced.
“How long are you planning to grow this?” Kayla asked.
She raked her fingers through his hair, distributing the product from root to ends. Chris always loved it when she did that. He’d melt into her touch, his eyes fluttering shut as his body relaxed. Maybe Sebastian was right, again; it’d been too long since he’d been with a woman. How could someone simply touching his hair make him lose his mind?
Kayla loved the way his hair felt in her hands; silky and soft. Even better, she liked how vulnerable he always seemed in her chair, which was such a contrast to his towering height, ragged beard and sculpted frame.
He looked vulnerable in her chair because his mind was busy, always wondering what it would feel like to kiss her and have her hands play in his hair. Or tug at it.
It didn’t help that the woman worked in such a close proximity to his face. She permeated every one of his senses…
Her confidence in her own skin was attractive; she had this way about her… a beauty that was very easy on the eyes.
Her soothing voice and hearty, belly laugh was contagious.
Her touch was confident and comforting. It felt like home.
Her sweet but punchy bergamot and neroli scent reminded him of heady summer nights.
Her taste… he always wondered.
“I’m actually supposed to cut it soon for Lobby Hero,” he said sadly. He fished his phone out of his robe pocket and showed her the character mood board for the play. “They gave me this buddy here for reference,”
“Oh,” Lauren walked over and glanced over his shoulder at his phone screen.
Kayla looked up at him from the screen, then back at the phone and him again, as if trying to envision the look on him.
“Uhmm the moustache...too?”
Chris nodded, pouting as he whined, “I don’t wike it,”
“Oh...” Lauren repeated, stifling a laugh by biting her bottom lip.
“Can you believe it? A pornstache,” he cried.
“Wow, the next few months are going to be rough for you,” Kayla finally commented.
“What, without my hair I’m nothing? Is that what you’re saying?”
No, I just won’t have anything to imagine tugging on...she thought.
“Not what I said, you just said that yourself,” Kayla corrected him. “I’m just saying, the world went nuts over your bearded look in the Infinity War trailer just last week...this look’s gonna be a big middle finger to everyone that supported you,”
“You’re so charming, y’know that?” he said rolling his eyes. “I can say bye to my career, because clearly my hair’s kept me going all these years,”
“You could always try porn? With that beard and all,” Lauren said, back to her station by the rail.
“Maybe you can write my character reference,” Chris shot back.
“Oh, I’m so glad it’s Friday, one more day with you I swear I’ll strangle you,” Laura huffed.
“So it’s BDSM you’re into?” Chris asked.
“Chris!”
“We’re all adults here,” he shrugged.
“You’re lot,”
“I am, you can regroup over the weekend,” He sighed, but he looked smug like he was proud of himself. “Doing anything nice other than getting away from me?”
“My weekend starts tonight, shower, room service, a huge bottle of wine and bed. Then lather, rinse and repeat. I’m staying in bed all weekend,”
“Sounds like a dream,” Kayla moaned. “Can I join you?”
“For which bit; the shower, wine or bed all weekend?” Lauren asked, her sole purpose to get a reaction out of Chris.
And it worked, his breath stilled at the visuals that flooded him, but he quickly composed himself before he breathed an easy laugh to let Lauren know he was unaffected by her antics.
“Girl, no! For the wine and room service,” Kayla scrunched up her face at her. “I’m hungry,”
“What a shame, my bed will be very lonely tonight,”
“Take me out to dinner and I might just come back to your room,” Kayla teased.
“Well, why don’t we all get something to eat tonight, Chris, think you can make it?”
“I doubt it, I finish around 9:30ish. I can’t make you guys wait that long to eat,” Chris said sadly.
The idea of going out seemed very tempting, after his conversation with his mom yesterday he realised he needed to start making a few changes, starting with his social life. Kayla being in attendance was a bonus, if not the main incentive.
“We’ll survive,” Lauren interjected quickly, not wanting to give him a window to bail out because he always bailed.
Chris decided that if he was going to spend the next two hours at a press event, fake smiling the night away at cameras and fellow industry personnel, then he surely deserved a nice private dinner with his team to unwind without having to be ‘Chris Evans,’ the famous guy. He wanted to push the envelope even further and have a drink or two, or even eat from the list of barred food for his Cap diet. Just to prove a point.
“That works for me. I’ll let Tiffany and Keith know,” Lauren said, considering his assistant and publicist who completed ‘Team Chris Evans’. “Kay, You in?”
Chris surprised himself when he didn’t immediately worry about going back to Mya and Dodger when Lauren extended the dinner invitation. He was going to take his mom and Seb’s advice to put himself out there.
It was about time, he wasn’t getting any younger.
But he wasn’t surprised when he’d found himself holding his breath, waiting for Kayla to respond, because frankly, he knew deep down that her reply was going to make or break the deal. Of course he loved Lauren and she was great company, but she wasn’t Kayla.
“Of course I’m in,”

Small Town Fiend
Occuptation: Tattoo artist and playwright.
Friends: Rudrama, Zariyah, ???
Acquaintances: Everyone not a friend or rival
Friendly rivals with/polite disdain for: (lmao imagine Reagan being polite in its disdain) Nick, Noah, Damian, Kalli, Val
How long has your kid had their own shop? It’s technically Rudrama’s shop, but Reagan has worked there for about six/seven years (though the first couple years purely as an apprentice).
Your kid’s favourite thing about their work: The accomplishment of making epic artwork (Reagan voice: Also causing people pain).
Your kid’s favourite thing to do around the small town: Haunting the local woods, bothering zariyah at work, art and theatre classes with the local community centre, sitting in weird places with a notebook, hanging out at the bar
How old do you want to be in this universe? 30ish
Whats your kid’s favourite food? Fresh fruit.
What’s your kid’s favourite weather? Windy and overcast but not yet raining.
If your kid had to have a booth at a farmer’s market, what would they sell? Mushrooms, both homegrown and foraged
What does your kid’s shop look like? Please reference Rudrama’s bio when I get it up
What does their home look like? A small, single-story cottage hidden in the woods. Not really on a legal block of land. Its covered in ivy and looks kind of dilapidated from the outside and inside is just full of stuff. Where does Reagan sleep? No idea its bed is covered in books and cutlery.
Live with anyone? A rottweiler named Budweiser (Buddy) and Guinness, who is either a horse, chicken, or doberman. Maybe all three.
Whats their Wholesome Small Town style? Rebellious nomad with a fondness for kids. Will accept barter as (partial) payment, will also trade things like “memories” and “a year of your life” for tattoos that give good luck, or help your bread rise. Sometimes disappears without warning but has always come back so far. Can have an intense, deep conversation with it only to realise the next day you didn’t even get its name, but it knows your whole life story.
Any locations you want to ensure we have in town? Theatre, community centre, some cool creepy woods, a biker bar?
Any desired backstory? Just showed up with Rudrama one day, no one really knows where it came from.
What’s your kid’s favourite place to hang out, outside of their work/home? The woods, Emery’s shop, back of Zariyah’s truck, the theatre, the community centre, the bar/pub/whatever.
Whats the magic power situation looking like? Reagan’s head IS attached but there’s something weird and otherworldly about it. It’s skin is too pale and a weird shade, like a corpse. It’s teeth are too sharp, it’s smile too big. It seems to always knows where people are in the town and its impossible to sneak up on or steal from. It wears sunglasses all the time, even on a moonless night, and its known for clearing roadkill from the roads. It talks to Guinness like a person and she always seems to understand it. Some of it’s tattoos grant small powers, and the trade is always something you think you won’t miss until you do.

Possible Precure Concept # 4
Phantom Thieves
As promised, here it is.
The idea popped into my head a few months ago. Can’t remember whether or not Yuni made her first appearance at that point yet but whatever.
So! Picture it. A Precure team completely composed of kaitou who go about purifying corrupted artwork/valuable treasure and fighting villains aiming to “taint” the world in desolate colors or something like that (is that too Smile-like? that’s too much like Smile, isn’t it?).
No, you are not wrong. It takes inspiration straight from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Saint Tail and maybe even a little bit of Persona 5 even though I’ve only watched like the first 6 episodes of the adaptation and never played the game (I can see why it’s so popular, though).
Anyways, I just thought it’d be cool to see Precure’s take on this concept. I wasn’t even deterred when StarPre brought out Blue Cat because it’s not like Toei doesn’t recycle stuff from past seasons.
However, there are several things I believe that can keep it off the consideration table. Like...
1) The one or two people who think it might suggest to kids to become criminals.
......Honestly? Honestly, if you steal only from the dirty rich, then I am absolutely FINE with that. Seriously, have your fun and EAT THE RICH!!
Ok, j/k, j/k except not really but the thing with phantom thieves (besides the fact that they are largely fictional) is that...there’s a sense of romanticism that sets them apart from other types of outlaws. At least the ones I came across, they mostly use trickery and cunning (and their charm) but rarely do they ever resort to violence or worse to get the job done.
And in some cases, the thief may have a noble motive for committing the crimes (like how Yuni did it to reclaim the resources for her home planet but donated everything else to the poor). I think that’s why phantom thieves are so compatible with the magical girl genre.
Because you know the MC is actually a good person performing a heroic deed but at the same time they’re operating well outside of what’s legal. And that’s what makes the story all the more thrilling to follow.
You want them to escape the police. You want them to steal the target. You want them to succeed because at the end of the day, they are not the villain.
That’s exciting, isn’t it? :D
...but hey, y’know...if the writers are afraid of the wrath of a few individuals who take a children’s anime way too seriously then that’s their call. :P
Pretty sure there’s no one that paranoid though...maybe... I dunno.
In any case, we can all agree it’s an interesting pitch, yea?
Yea. Next concern then.
2) It’s already been done.
On top of that, old favorites like KKJ and Saint Tail have the edge of nostalgia supporting them which will inevitably lead to the silly argument of “who did it better”.
Not that that’s ever stopped us before. I mean, look at KiraPre. At the start of its run, it drew tons of comparison with Tokyo Mew Mew but still became a very successful and beloved season among Precure fans.
So really, there is no issue there (in fact, the more magical phantom thieves, the merrier) because the story is likely always going to be different.
Which brings me to my next point...
3) Narrative
Among the majority (or perhaps, the more traditional?) of magical girl series, the plot is usually “normal girl obtains magical powers to fight evil and save the world”.
The plot is simple. The story isn’t.
The story is how you tell the plot.
Which makes comparisons between different series almost kinda pointless because no story progresses the same way as another does nor would they have details that are exactly alike.
Especially if Toei one day decides that it wants to take a shot at this idea for their cash cow franchise, then they already have a striking appeal the two aforementioned titles don’t: a team of phantom thieves.
Granted, that’s easier said than done.
Even though I’m proposing it, I can’t deny it might be hard to pull off well.
I dunno. I’m always under the impression that phantom thieves work better alone (their non-action accomplices aside). Less things to worry about on their end, less things to trip them up.
But why not take on the challenge? If you can manage to get a bunch of colorful personalities and/or headstrong egos to cooperate on big “heists” together, that would be pretty impressive.
Plus, let’s not forget that Toei has 16+ years of trumpeting the magic of “friendship and teamwork” under their belt with 50-so episodes spanning each year-long season to boot. Planning and writing fleshed-out character arcs and group development should be their forte by now.
Admittedly, they’re not always perfect at it but the point is, this is not unfamiliar territory for them.
Of course, there’s a lot more to a story than just its main cast and what razzle dazzle effects they can do. You also need good supporting characters, antagonists worth our attention, interesting (and in this case, clever) one-shot fillers, the usual one or two unexpected twists and perhaps most importantly, a solid narrative theme to work with.
“Phantom thieves” are a motif, not a narrative theme.
A motif is something that helps explains the theme (or message) the show wants to convey.
Like “hope versus despair”, loneliness, love (this one’s been broadly overused but yea, it is one), etc. Those are all themes.
Unfortunately, I can’t think of a theme that would correspond well to “phantom thieves” as motif at the moment.
Hmmm…maybe “justice”?
But what the heck, I’m not part of the writing staff. This is their job to think up, not mine! xP
…still, I think it’ll require a good amount of brainstorming if you really want it to turn out good.
Um…what else?
I guess, just smaller things like whether to use “Cure ______” or “Kaitou _____” because a stock trait of phantom thieves series is that they like to announce themselves as “Phantom Thief so-and-so”…so I’m wondering if the Cure title will even matter?
It feels less like a Precure show if the girls don’t actually call themselves “Cures”, doesn’t it?
Uuuuuuhhhhh…oh yea!
For every phantom thief, there is usually always a detective chasing after them and maybe even a rival thief that comes in later during the story.
I think it’d be a fascinating twist if the detective was a girl in the same class as the starter Cure(s) who ends up befriending said Cure(s) not knowing she’s (they’re) the same as the thief(s) she’s trying to catch. Then the reveal happens at the worse timing (ep 30ish) but she makes the decision to protect the Cure(s)…by becoming a Cure herself…and you can guess at what happens next but it’s pretty predictable. She comes to terms with it and drops her day job to become a magical girl and steal for the sake of good.
..Yea.
As for the rival part, I’m still really pushing for opposing Precure teams. Ideally, a two-against-two scenario where they (maybe one-sidedly) compete to see who can purify the most monsters until circumstances push them to see they’re better working together.
…lol, I dunno. It may not work with the principles of Precure in general but I’m just having a lot of fun right now thinking all this up. xD;
So yea, that’s another big one to add to my Precure wishlist.
If it becomes reality someday, I’ll…well, I’ll definitely not stop screaming for the next five years, that’s for sure. xDD;;;
