total time: 50ish hours (i didnt measure exactly lol)

as soon as i finished reading this series, i knew i had to draw something. i mightve gotten possessed in the process, this is the most detailed sg painting ive made in a WHILE a lot of aspects in esseks design was inspired by this piece by zmees with some of my own elements added in bren's design was mostly my own ( i have a double breasted vest i made like his thats blue :3)

I love seeing how down bad Essek is for Caleb in later M9 episodes like, esp in Aeor

He was really about to interrupt all of time and space for this guy— and no matter what happened in Aeor he was like

“Caleb omfg” “caleb hELP—“ “CALEB”

I love him…. Disaster wizard…. One of my favorite guys…

And obv Caleb is into him too- like when they’re flying, and Caleb says he shows off a little- and then Essek flies too- guys… guys I’m so normal about them..

And don’t even get me STARTED abt how he talks abt Caleb in C3…

I've been watching Critical Role Campaign 2, never managed to finish it when it was airing, but this time I'm determined! Got 30 episodes left to go!!! Absolutely loved it, Essek is hands down my favourite Npc, what an amazing and complex character 🥰

Definitely want to do some more Crit Role fan art, and open to any suggestions if there is a particular character you want to see in my style 😊

Its 7am on a monday and im just thinkin about neutral evil Essek Thelyss ♥

Definitely have some things I want to change, shorten the hair a bit, decide on jewelry, and gauntlets or no? Included a quick doodle of how his cloak/robes would lay over his clothes when closed. Still exploring, but the base ideas are there!
