Gold ichor drips from your eyes, searing hot against your skin. Your back feels as though it’s being rearranged as wings erupt forth in violent fashion. A set of glittering halos cause your head to pulse in flashes of pain, like a heartbeat thrumming against your skull, each pounding beat stronger than the last. You feel those freshly formed wings stretch, straining your muscles, as you clutch yourself and double over in agonizing pain. The light of a thousand suns unleashed after a decades long slumber beneath darkness is not kind to the mortal vessel it resides within. Endure, little one, endure it, and once you have healed from this terrifying and painful excursion, wield that light you deserved to wield since the day it was sealed away.
