Sorry talking about alcohol abuse in this post but I know im far from the first person to experience this but it sucks how all the periods of my life when im doing the best socially are when my drinking is completely out of control and then when I do stop drinking my social life falters because I completely rely on alcohol to socialize and I'm comically completely inept at it when I'm sober and it seems like it shouldn't be that big of a deal but it is. Like it feels like my options are just say fuck it and let myself be dependent on alcohol and have friends or not be an alcoholic and have no friends and be scared of leaving my house. Whatever lol

What do you think about another crossover AU for SeltzerBunny? This time with Demon Slayer.

It's kinda easy to adapt the respective canon quirks of our dear couple into Breathing Styles.

Cider/Mizunami obviously would be a water breathing user, and for this AU I like to think he would be tsuguko of Sabito who survived this time.

While Midoriya is a wind breathing user (cause you know air force and float and green aesthetic... whatever) who was saved by Masachika (Yeah he's also alive at least for now) from the lower moon who killed his mother.

That lower moon would be no other than BK, who is a promising demon in ascension who is capable of generate explosions like his quirk in MHA.

And this would make Midoriya quest for revenge his principal motivation.

Still thinking about the details for this AU and who should be the other characters adapted into it, as MHA having such a big cast compared to DS force me to pick only the necessary lol.

So while I did saw the first season of DS and do think it's well paced and better than MHA in every way -not a big achievement to behold. I didnt saw the other seasons, I got spoilers here and there. My point is how some of the names here are unknown to me.

happy mandy monday yall. i’m relationally challenged and i wrote a bad poem about it last night after performing at a pride event and making a gay zine for my partner and then going home and still feeling insane and comparing poems written by all the poet lovers i’ve ever had. i then had a minor medical emergency (easy to remedy in the moment, will take a LOT of $ to fix) and i couldn’t even really bring myself to care. i brought out all my childhood toys and organized and sorted them and couldn’t bring myself to throw even one of them away. i woke up at 5 am and reached for the glass of water on the nightstand and i realized it was actually clear coconut alcohol mixed with watermelon seltzer (remaining half of a drink i made myself on friday night) and i drank it anyway for breakfast. i went into work and there was a dead mouse that my coworkers were too scared to clean up so they left it for me which i thought was kind of funny in a fucked up way because i love mice and am a bleeding heart animal lover vegetarian. it’s snowing everywhere in the city rn btw. traffic is fucked and everyone is walking and driving slowly, bundled up in puffy snow suits. tonight fearing my house i braved the snow, i took myself out for a drink and read a pretty good chainshipping time loop fic and im drinking an amaretto caramel red ale and breaking dishes by rihanna is playing. my self imposed isolation is going bad still but soon i’ll be on the most expensive vacation i’ve ever taken for free. by THE OCEAN. and soon i hope to return to sawposting 24/7 and being available on discord (vital and crucial for mental health lol). i prommy. everything is going to turn around or else im gonna die. and if i die then i wont get to see my chemical romance next year and i will have made friendship bracelets for nothing. also i have been writing fanfiction for my bloody valentine (1981) to cope which im not gonna lie i know nobody is gonna read any of it but it slaps and they should. okay now they’re playing omg by usher and the bartender is singing along which is cute. did anyone else memorize this when they were a child

Describe your writing process from idea to posting/publishing?

My ideas: I'm often inspired by moodboards, pinterest images, writing prompts I see on tumblr, movies and shows I watch...inspiration is everywhere! I also try and write things I'm familiar with or things I have interest in. It makes the research part more entertaining and engaging! Once I get an idea I play out the story in my head for a few days before I'm sure I like the possibilities of the story...if I really like the idea I get right to writing, even if it's a part of a scene or a small intro.

I LOVE THE RESEARCH ASPECT OF WRITING

I know, the boring part, but I learn so many new things and I like my fics to be accurate to a degree...of course at some point I just have to be like "Debbi, it's okay if it's not possible for your character to survive a fifty foot drop -- you're doing it for the angst!!!!!"

Writing/Editing: I keep everything I do to Google docs! I can access it anywhere from my phone and I love the outline tool. As soon as I get an idea, I make a new doc and add the idea or outline.

I will write at home, on the bus, on my break at work, anywhere! I'm shameless so I don't mind writing smut next to strangers on a bus or in a cafe 😅 I like to write a chapter out without really focusing on editing, and if there's a moment where I'm struggling to find a way to phrase or talk about something or a word to use, I just bold that section and keep going. Then I'll go back and edit it.

I'll admit, I'm an awful editor LOL I'll go back through and make sure it makes sense (I like to try and find creative ways to get what's in my head on paper and sometimes it just doesn't sound good LOL)

I only recently had people start reading my stuff before posting and I always feel so bad for the grammar of mine they have to endure (To my beta readers, I love you and you're awesome! 💖)

I just have to remind myself that Stephen King had horrible grammar, but incredible stories. That keeps me going hahaha

Posting/Publishing: I am too lazy to go back through and type in the html, so I just hope and pray my italics make it through while copying it to AO3. So far it's cooperated. I've only had to go back and add in italics two or three times.

I like to promote my stuff with sneak peeks before posting fully, and recently I've been addicted to making playlists on spotify for my fics, little collages for when I post a new chapter on tumblr, creating ways for my readers to engage with the story by letting them choose certain things that happen next.

Are you a plotter or a pantser?

Thirty Moments I planned out. I did have a thirty day OTP prompt I had written for merthur back in like 2014 so I followed that and changed it up a bit to go with acotar/gwynriel, and I knew I wanted the prompts to tell a story as they went along rather than them being one-offs so that required planning. That was my most extensive outline. My other outlines are quick little notes, like a basic idea of what's coming next...some times I follow that and some times it derails completely and I go off course!

BB, NH is very much pantsing. I went into it deciding that's how I'd do it because I wanted to try the method and I really like pantsing!

I think it really depends on the fic for me and how much bandwidth I have for the fic.

What do you listen to when you are writing?

Spotify playlists that fit the vibe of the story, or the playlist I created for the fic!

There's also a guy who plays the trumpet in the park I live next to, so sometimes I'll just listen to that as I write 🤣

What’s your drink of choice (while writing)?

I find my best writing happens in the morning so I'll usually have coffee or tea. In the afternoons if I'm writing it's kind of whatever I'm drinking; water, seltzer, wine...I don't have a specific drink I stick to when writing.

Promote yourself! What’s your favourite thing you’ve written?

Um, all of it? hahahaha no but I really loved Thirty Moments Tell A Story. It was my first major (published - I wrote something right after reading ACOSF and it was basically word vomit, but word vomit with potential so I'm currently editing that lol) Gwynriel fic and I loved the themes I explored.

Do you have any advice for new writers?

Seriously. Write the awful stories. Write the ones you can't get out of your head, or the ones that you only gave a minute of thought to. Writing anything helps you to hone your craft and meld it to what you want it to look like.

Try and write a little everyday. Even if it's a sentence, editing, an idea...anything to keep the juices flowing.

Take your time. Don't rush it.

This part is easier said than done, but don't be hard on yourself. Write because you like to do it, not because you're expecting a million hits or comments or kudos.

Talk with other writers and get their advice.

Read, read, read...seeing other writing helps to fuel and inspire yours!

Take breaks and remember to be kind to yourself!

What is a writing style/technique that others do really well that you'd like to get better at?

I like my smut, but I think I could do better at making it less telling and more showing.

Is there a character you were surprised you enjoyed writing as much as you did?

I like writing about the other Valkyries and giving them personalities. I liked writing Azriel’s mother as well!

I also have Balthazar as a beta in my Valkyrie appreciation week fic and I've only written one line for him so far but I'm already entertained by him 🤣

I’m just extremely… disappointed? Let’s say that so many of the statements in TMAGP aren’t even written by Jonny. I stopped listening early on because they just didn’t feel the same, and hearing that he’s not writing most to any of them just feels so weird.

Like, what hooked so many people onto TMA was his writing. HIS writing. So it’s just so weird that they’d make this new series and he just- is barely involved lol??? Like idk how to explain this disappointment I feel. Like I was excited for more of his work because I liked it a lot, and then not getting it feels so weird, like an odd form of betrayal? It’s like I ordered a soda and you brought me seltzer water, yknow? Having a guest writer for one or two statements is one thing, okay that’s cool great whatever, but for a majority of the series??

Idk if this makes any sense but ahhhh just another massive disappointment from TMAGP :/.

from what i understood (and i am minimally involved in jonnysimsirl's web presence so please do not take this as anything other than my picking up a vibe) he seemed super done with the series. both in terms of how the fandom was treating him and just in terms of like... the project. so i was SHOCKED when a prequel/sequel/spin off was announced and then not shocked at all when his involvement was super super low.

idk if i would call it something as strong as a betrayal but i do agree about the bait and switch. using tma branding to rope in your committed audience and then giving them cardboard instead of cornflakes.

Hey bud! Sure! here’s some of my own HC’s for Serennedy!

-Luis loves head scratches and isn’t afraid to “ask” for them. His way of “asking” is just by leaning his head over onto Leon’s shoulder or lap and Leon will immediately understand what it means lol. Leon’s favorite thing to ask for is foot massages and the way he “asks” for them is just by putting his foot up onto Luis’s lap or just right in front of him. And same thing, Luis gets it immediately and gives Leon a foot massage. Luis loves giving his bf a foot massage <3

- Luis is intelligent of course, but sometimes he will have dumb moments where his brain will “reboot”. And this will manifest in things like him forgetting simple math or practical skills. Like most people, he will just stand there and stare into nothing until whatever thought he is waiting for, comes to him . Leon LOVES walking in on these moments because he thinks it is cute.

-Both men are amazing cooks

-Leon can play guitar and drums pretty well. He is not a professional but he knows enough to play simple arrangements. Luis can play guitar on a similar level to Leon but he can sing BEAUTIFULLY. Leon is always mesmerized when Luis sings for him. Luis will often sing Celine Dion songs. XD

-Leon enjoys working out but Luis HATES it. He will sometimes go with Leon to the gym if Leon convinces him to go, either to stay in shape or to at least help Leon with his workouts.

-Both men don’t have any living family members :( so for the holiday season, Ashley invites them over or she will visit them.

-On days off, Leon likes to be in comfy clothes. But if Luis can help it, he always tries to look his best. He LOVES to look good. Leon finds it especially attractive when Luis decides to wear comfy clothes though.

-Leon will argue that seltzer water is stupid and one should either just drink regular soda or just water.. Luis will argue that seltzer is both better for you than regular soda while still being fizzy and tasting great, clearly making it the superior carbonated beverage. Both of them will die on their respective hills. Lol

-when they moved in for the first time, Leon came with two cats. He has had them forever and a Luis would die for these little babies. Unfortunately he is allergic to them severely and has to take allergy medication constantly just to not be miserable 😖 from sneezing. Leon feels so bad but Luis wouldn’t change a thing. Lol

But at least if reader has one thing, even if it’s not the ability to fight, it’s the ability to chug down a hard seltzer and continue on as if they just drank water. I can just imagine the panic the Chain feels when reader grabs a higher proof spirit, pour a few shots and just drinks them all no issue lol.

I’ve never thought about that, and suddenly, I must play Skyward Sword again, my favorite lil human <3 but also, got me thinking since SS was made around the time, iirc, that parkour games were pretty big, and while Sky can’t run for long, boy can run up walls a bit. Which, makes me think that Hylians are just, incapable of doing parkour lol, only Sky and reader are capable of it, which I think is a pretty interesting thought

human sky is just beloved baby boy!!! he's just so sweet and it gives him a whole nother opportunity to bond over reader, there's a few things I've been planning to explore with it - mostly how he just breaks down over your ears and gets incredibly defensive over them on your behalf but hylians being unable to do parkour? 👀 that's a really fun headcanon, and it makes a lot of sense - the only other link with similar abilities is wild/tears and that's after the shrine. Two ways to terrify the chain now then!!!! parkour and a very high tolerance to them, they're going to be watching over you both like hawks at this rate :3

Or Swansong. I even have a couple scenes from Swanknight (look, I have a title and everything, wehhhhh TT^TT) sketched out, I've had them sketched out for years, but I doubt I'll ever do much with them, alas.

I wouldn't mind also writing a little one-shot or two-shot in the future of the With Every Heartbeat universe. I need Megamind picking up his niece from middle school, and I need Derya and Keiko to be friends in this alternate universe, lol.
