deeper into major labels and while i disagree with a lot of it its become more of a fun intellectual exercise since now it's much clearer sanneh is in his own critical zone instead of just going total summation mode.

#writing full paragraphs on annotations my book looks crazy bc I did spill coffee on it earlier this week #anyway. i am on my hands and knees asking for a greater deconstruction of black masculinity in the rnb sections #think its crazy to literally quote people talking about prince and mj being weird androgynous sellouts who are traitors to blackness #and not mention the expectations of masculinity informing that perspective. esp given much of this section is about perceived authenticity.#like am i crazy.#the section on shame was very good though. margo jefferson reference. getting at larger ideas around abuse and audience complicity.#moving into the new jack swing stuff now which is fun #idk if the way this is organized gels with my mind. it fades in and out of chronological order. but i respect the threads.#my posts
