♫ Mighty Quinn ♫ (Redux)
I spent most of yesterday (Sunday) reading … just reading, not delving deep into political news, but reading a book simply for pleasure … something I almost never do these days.  I enjoyed it, but the result is that I’m behind now and so must delve back into the archives for a song for today.  AHA!  This one is a fun song … a good way to start off the week, don’t you think?  I last played this…

B'Elanna, Neelix, Tuvok and Chakotay needed to star in an episode where they just talked about their different beliefs and approaches to spirituality/religion. Paired off and all together. I need to gain more insight. I need characterization and I need it to be messy.
#B'Elanna's difficulty with Klingon myths and religion (especially due to her internalized racism)#Chakotay's current strong belief in his own spirituality despite his initial complete rejection of it (and how B'Elanna seems to admire#and have talked with Chakotay about it extensively in the past given how many specifics she's aware of)#Neelix's belief in an afterlife being the only thing that comforted him after his entire family was killed - the knowledge that he would be#able to reunite with them again and that knowledge being ripped away from him#Does he still believe? Are there other aspects of his previous spiritual beliefs that are thrown into question?#Just because it isn't 'real' does it make it unimportant? How do we even know whether or not it's 'real'?#He died and doesn't remember reaching that tree and seeing his family - does that mean it didn't happen?#Tuvok's line in 'Innocence' about how he's begun to have doubts about whether or not a katra exists and what happens after someone dies#and his firm ties to Vulcan spirituality and ritual#ALL SO INTERESTING!!!!!!!!#star trek voyager#I don't think it'd be a calm or healthy conversation either - they're not therapists and I don't think anyone but Chakotay#would be particularly careful with his words#and before you say Tuvok's a Vulcan so he would be let me remind you that Tuvok told B'Elanna to her face that he thought Klingons#were basically savages - he is INDELICATE to say the least#Neelix is careful with his words bc he's a people pleaser for survival but also he has a tendency to bother people and be overly pushy#and I think he'd do a lot of research and be the one leading the conversation/the reason they get on the topic and continue on it#B'Elanna wouldn't want to talk about it. She wants to talk about it the least. But she must!!!! Bc the episode demands it!!#st voy

There’s no snow No wintery show No white-washed sound barrier wind to blow There’s no go-ing Out into the quiet of the night on Stowe (court) Where I grew up, and what I truly know
Where is the winter I was promised Quietude across the yard and street Scraped clear every day Resetting the coat like a shaken etch-a-sketch It is not stretch, that I know To say that there’s no Snow
Where have you gone, oh, winter, oh, ice Bring me my longing, frigid and nice

Insane that no one has said it but "I/p", "i/p war" and "I/p conflict" is absolutely a Zionist/anti-palestine/Jewish colonist-sumpremacist dog whistle way of referring to the Palestinian genocide. It's not a total one but more of semi-dog whistle catagory of both look at the context of those using it and everyone who uses it may not be a zio but every zio uses it sort of deal.
Honestly you should be checking everyone who refers to the Palestinian genocide as a war or conflict or anything other than a genocide, colonization and ethnic cleansing. Just because a bigot and genocide supporter may not be putting a positive spin on a horrific event doesn't mean that their neutral or centrist position isn't violence. Calling what's happening to Palestine anything other than a genocide is a disrespect to all victims of genocide. Zios are fash. We punch fash here. Fashes want genocide and zios want genocide.
Im not pussy footing around what they fucking are because some of them are also oppressed, I'm not some thin skinned whiney liberal teenager you can bully into silence, I'm a strong native American survivor of a genocide and I'm not gonna use nice or neutral language when I talk about anyone who commits genocide, fascism, colonization or ethnic cleansing. We punch colonizers here. Grow a spine and stop supporting colonization and genocide or meet my native steel spiked leather boots. Idk what you want from me, im exactly what i tell you i am and i punch nazis and I kick out colonizers. Boo hoo? Ig?? 🤷🏽🤣🤣

In the burgeoning darkness Of the forested wilderness, I found a living lord of madness Who knows neither savageness Nor innocence in his gladness.

watching a Korean drama about the Japanese occupation and then researching an 1890 exhibition in France of Japanese art and reading about how some 19th century art critics thought Japanese society was more ‘innocent’ than western society and then thinking about all of the many war crimes they would subsequently commit . we’re all humans capable of beautiful art and horrible violence huh. And westerners have always been really fucking weird about non-westerners.

I'm just too disgusted with Germany and Germans. Where I look, if you speak out against directly and enthusiastically chasing human beings from shelter to shelter with tanks and drones, where children lose limbs and can't even get the simplest of pain relief, when you speak out. The "very good, very anti-racist, very pro-democracy and freedom" Germans tell you that Palestinians are "all terrorists", that everyone in Gaza deserves this, that everyone should "GO BACK TO *YOUR* COUNTRY" (and of course all these Your Countries are all "backwards" and "uncivilized" and "barbaric", man, I LOVE you, German "anti-racists", you're gold).
Disgust. Disappointment.
Y'all are "against AfD" because it's not very cash money amirite xDD to vote the open fascists into power, but you don't consider Muslims or really ANYONE who isn't white Western European even a full human.
And in 10 years time you'll hold a fucking memorial to feel sorry about yourself and sob, "We just didn't know!"
You DO know and you're tormenting all of us with your "but it's FINE actually, they DESERVE it actually, they're not WORTHY to be saved by our divine enlightened civilized grace" this very instance.
Jewish people in Germany aren't safe FROM (FELLOW!!) GERMANS here, WHICH IS DISGUSTING, white-as-snow-and-very-much-NOT-Muslim neonazis are marching in the streets, wear their fucking insignia in the open, organize without anyone REALLY giving a fuck until it gets fashionable - but you want to scapegoat an ENTIRE CIVILIAN POPULATION for that shame on your heart (instead of confronting that no, your family was certainly NOT "in the resistance and really sooooooo against Hitler"). Do you think that when 2 million Palestinians are dead, you will finally feel better? Do you think that crying "but Hamas is SO MUCH WORSE than my own nazi great-grandparents" enough time will make the Holocaust go away, be forgotten, be washed out?
Or do you just enjoy "those savage brown people" cradling their dead kids, in pieces, and you were waiting out SO LONG to finally find an excuse to share these sick feelings inside of you with the world?
I hope that dead, black heart inside of you rots out of your chest.

The Savage She-Hulk (1980) #1
#so Jen is being affected by her anger#she gets more angry the further this goes on#but not to the extent that it would effect her intelligence#and she’s not so out of control that she’s endangering innocent people or causing that much property damage comparatively to the Hulk#when she’s charging through the hospital she gets assumed to be some kind of villain based on her appearance and demeanor#and she rushes through that group but without really hurting them#and as she’s going after the guys that tried to kill her she talks about how she’s so powerful and she can do anything#but she doesn’t lose sight of wanting to work within the legal system#she gets the crook to confess in front of the cops and then immediately let him go#and she’s allowed to leave because ‘there’s no law against green skin’#while Jen is immediately connected to the Hulk and titled the She-Hulk I wonder how his reputation will affect her in her own stories#while she doesn’t do anything villainous in this first story#she’s just a particularly aggressive female hero#I wouldn’t even consider ripping a street sign out of the group to use as a weapon to be that far out of bounds of normal hero behavior#it’s really the ‘I have the strength now- The Power! I can do anything! Anything!’ stuff that differentiates her there#but still at the end that nurse is talking about how ‘That female savage was just horrible!’#so we’ll see how this goes for Jen#as she tries to adjust to this while maintaining her regular life#which Bruce did for a time but that fell apart and really was doomed because his regular life was working for General Ross#I’m assuming that Jen will be better on that front and that in her occupation as a lawyer she won’t be expected to go after the She-Hulk#and also she’s already a lot more confident than Bruce#‘I’ve become a gamma-ray monster- like poor Doc! But I’ll learn to live with it!’#marvel#jennifer walters#my posts#comic panels
