bi MC, f/f
#Reader I Murdered Him#Betsy Cornwell#aroaessidhe 2023 reads#hm mixed feelings!#the blurb calls it a thriller which. i wouldnât call it that#quite slow to start#and only does like. one murder and threatens some dudes. she becomes a thief rather than like fully vigilante#i think it could have committed more fully in certain directions#and also the bit at the end..while it was definitely implied he was creepy; that kind of all came out at once & conveniently ended the stor#the sapphic romance subplot was nice though! and the friendships!#Iâm not super familiar with jane eyre and I think this relies on you knowing it to fill in some gaps at the start at least.#but also if youâre fond of the romance in that you probably wonât like this lol#the authorâs note is interesting and talking about how the women other than jane in the original are just sort of irrelevant plot devices#so like. maybe read if you DONâT like JE; or if you like it but are more into the characters/themes than the romance#idk haha

there are two wolves within me. one wants to write original media with canon queer relationships (particularly sapphic ones For Some Reason). the other wants to write original media with absolutely no romance subplots and itâs not addressed.
they donât even have to both be queer that doesnât matter what matters is the avoidance of heteronormativity and amatonormativity
#both would have ace aro and/or aroace characters#bc the amatonormativity in media is sickening#and i think that sure the heteronormativity was a bitch but doesnât mean that a bunch of romances of all types would be better#and i know shipping is fun. i love shipping!!!#but when i was a kid i thought id have dated someone by the end of high school#i havent though. and thatâs fine!!! normal even!!!#but i assumed that would be An Issue when really i wasnât ready for romance#and ofc people get into relationships when they arenât ready all the time#but itâd be nice to see characters. not doing that.#who are satisfied with friendship or family or their careers#(also the âcareer woman who can have it allâ FUCK that they can have it all without a family)#but there arenât a lot of queer characters i can relate to#basically all of them came out this year (nick heartstopper and ashlyn hsmtmts)#and for fucking get about queer christian characters#i just want one thing without a romance subplot#i also want one thing with a sapphic christian character#preferably light hearted and hopeful regardless of whether or not thatâs my experience#this could play in to the bitchless bi character#but yeah idk#allo people arenât always in relationships. aro people shouldnât be erased in media.#looking at you riverdale#both can be happy single#and this should be portrayed
