Continued from here with @righteousmen
Rhaenyra giggled slightly at Alicents reactions, tilting the book to see the page better. She had 'borrowed' it from her uncle's library after their septa had given them some silly story of babies coming from wishes placed at the wedding. She knew that sounded stupid and went to find proof.
"Maybe she didn't know? Septas don't have children." Rhaenyra offered, flipping to the next page in the book. "And we're expected to have children ourselves, why shouldn't we know about this?"

Rhaenyra hummed softly as her mother answered, nodding slightly. It made sense to eat on the balcony since it was a fairly good day, though she could smell a storm in the air. "𝘖𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘦 𝘨𝘰?" She looped her arm through the others and smiled up on her.
"𝘈𝘩? 𝘕𝘰, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘺. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺." Rhaenyra had been attempting some repairs but as she worked on it she realized it was hopeless. "𝘐 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥." It was a bit upsetting, since it meant she wouldn't be able to fly for a while.
Aemma watches her daughter put the saddle away, the girl loved that dragon more then anything else in the world and it made Aemma nervous. She'd never liked the beasts, she'd ridden Meleys with Rhaenys a few times when she was younger, but it wasn't something she enjoyed.
"I think my rooms would be best. We can eat on the balcony." She offers. She doesn't have the energy to go far and she hopes to keep her condition under wraps for the time being. "Are you going riding later?"

i wish i had been there to stop it. i should have been there to stop it. / @ rhaenyra asked by @worthyheir
Rhaenyra sighed softly and cupped her son's face, resting their foreheads together. "None of us could've know what what going to happen." Her voice was soft as she offered what comfort she could to her son. His brother's death was hitting both of them hard, but she didn't want him blaming himself.
"Don't blame yourself my love."

A bad king revels in his importance. A good one hates his office. - for rhaenyra asked by @cregcn
"I would be worried about someone growing to resent their role if they hated it." Rhaenyra said as she and the northern lord stood on one of the balconies in Winterfell. "It could breed resentment and that could poison the well." A king who hated their position could very well grow to resent the people who they were protecting.

@g0dswood liked for a starter
Rhaenyra leaned into the cushioned carriage seat, arms crossed and a non-pout on her face. She had gotten roped into a marriage meeting with another family, her parents having tricked her into it. Alicent was on guard to ensure she got to the meeting and didn’t run elsewhere. She was sure her friend was laughing at her behind her smile and she couldn’t help the tiny glare she was giving.
“You are really not going to give me any hint?” Rhaenyra teased, kicking her foot out slightly so it bumped Alicent’s across the carriage. Normally she would’ve flown to where every her parents wanted her to go, but once she figured out what they wanted her to do she was grounded. The dragon keepers had taken her saddles from her and Syrax was taken to her pen in the pit until she returned. “At least tell me where in the Kingdoms we are going?” There were only a few families in each place, so she could guess from there.
Typically they would have a host of guards, but her mother didn’t want to draw to much attention to the princess’ travels so they only had the guard that was driving the carriage and one seated in the back. Rhaenyra looked out the window trying to get an idea of where they were. “Maybe even where they are in line? Are they the liege lords family or one of the sworn houses?” She was the princess so most would think she had to marry the firstborn son, but she knew her mother was always look more for the personality of the man instead of his birth order

@hcncrablesacrifice sent in a starter symbol (Rhaenyra/Alicent)
She wasn’t pouting, and she would deny it forever.

“The king is dead. Long live the queen.” - for Rhaenyra from Daemon asked by @neithergodsnormen
"Shut up" Her voice was rough as she stared at the letter in her hands, feeling herself shake. Her father had been almost been dead when she last saw him, barely able to speak or act as himself. She hadn't been allowed to stay with him long thanks to the tension between herself and his second wife.
"She won't let this stand. She'll be trying to put her son on the throne. We need to go."

“if it grieves you, then i don’t think it’s absurd at all.” / for rhaenyra, in my hotd verse asked by @stormbcrn
Rhaenyra wiped at her eyes, trying not to continue cry in front of her sister. She was being foolish, crying like a child over a broken saddle that was already in the process of being repaired. "It's stupid still, the dragonkeepers have already started the repair and yet I keep crying."
The saddle had broken while she was in flight, a fact she hadn't reveled to anyone yet

Rhaenyra was trying to remain calm, but being back in the main castle was tension for her. To many bad memories and her former friend now step-mother was an irritant for her. She had brought her sons there to spend time with their grandfather while he was still will enough.
Coming across her sister wasn't planned, but it cooled the fires a little. Helaena was not to be blame for anything that was happening between their family. "Helaena, I'm glad to see you." Her voice was soft as she looked at the girl. At her words she nodded slightly, looking back to her father's rooms.
"Your mother disagrees. Apparently my visit cause him to much stress."

They are sisters, but it has never been the same as it is with her brothers. There is a distance — one Helaena didn't always understand. The rift is older than she is; yet the princess learned to keep her distance when still a child.
Helaena would act with every courtesy, but it is stiff; uncertain. They stand in an awkward place, where fondness seems impossible but spite does not yet exist. When her sister approaches, all the younger princess can do is offer the attempt at conversation that would be expected of her.
❝ Rhaenyra, ❞ A soft greeting; one that feels so futile. They stand on opposite sides; there is no changing that, and there hasn't been for some time. ❝ Father was glad to see you. I had not seen him so content in a long time. ❞

@withouthonor liked for a starter~ (roulette wheel picked Joffery off your muses)
They were dragon riders, bound in blood to their mounts and they often reflected each other. At least she and Daemon tended to reflect their mounts, when they were in flight together she could tell what her husband was planning to do just by watching how Caraxes tilted his head or wings. Rhaenyra attributed this to how often they spent time with their dragons, and it was something she was hoping to pass onto her sons.
“Sit here my love.” She patted the seat next to her for her youngest son to join her. In her lap were scale cleaning supplies, borrowed from the pit in her youth and never returned. Tyraxes was growing well, and now he was at the proper size for a true cleaning. Rhaenyra cleaned Syrax herself for the entire span of their lives together and she felt it was the best lesson she would ever pass along when it came to being attuned to their dragons.
Once her son was settled against her, she lifted a file from the supplies. “Our dragons are more than our mounts, if you become close to them they can become a piece of your soul.” Whistling she called for Syrax, the large beast coming forward and resting her head in front of the mother and son. “And the best way to get close to them is with their grooming. I will teach you how to trim claws and shape their horns. Working on their teeth is tricky, but doable if you’re safe and aware of the situation.”

@ofvalyriansteel
Rhaenyra didn’t mind spending time on Driftmark with the other half of her family, it was comforting sometimes to get away from the court and all of the problems there. Her mother was pregnant again and some of the minor lords had taken to whispering about a possible son and if that meant they’d have a chance at gaining her hand. A few had even been bold enough to say the words directly to her, old men and wandering hands becoming a threat during feasts or even wandering the halls.
So when her father asked if she wanted to visit his cousin she jumped at the chance. Rhaenyra even left in the middle of the night in order to arrive on Syrax by dawn. The servants ushered her in quietly and another group led Syrax to the dragon den for her own rest. A bath was drawn and she cleaned herself up from the flight, changing from her riding leathers into a gown of Targaryen colors. She had several different gowns packed and really she just grabbed the first one she laid her hands on. And knowing Rhaenys and her family she’d be back in her riding leathers before the days end anyway.
With that finally done she left the room and headed to the dining room to meet with the family. “Rhaenys!” She called happily, coming over and wrapping her arms around the older woman. “Thank you so much for inviting me over, court was starting to get to a breaking point.” If anyone would understand it would be Rhaenys, she had lived at court before everything had happened. “Some lords are tempting me to introduce them to Syrax in a manner more befitting sheeps.”

❝ just take my arm, at the least. ❞ - Laenor to Rhaenyra
"I am....." her words left her as pain ripped through her body again and she felt another pulse of blood drip down her legs to the floor. "I will not let her see me weak, she wants that." They had been friends once, but to many betrayals had left a deep scar.

❝ are you…are you hurt? ❞ - Jace to Rhaenyra
"No, no my love." Rhaenyra groaned slightly, trying to shift her position in the chair. "Your new sibling is just deciding to sleep on my spine and refuses to shift, it's uncomfortable but not pain."

❝ everyone’s staring at us. ❞ - Luke for Rhaenyra
"It's the unfortunate nature of being next in line." Rhaenyra sighed softly, knowing that there was another reason most were staring. But she would never allow her children to feel that the eyes were staring at them, preferring to keep the attention on herself.

‘ my good opinion, once lost, is lost forever. ’ (for rhaenyra)
"Then I shall have to strive to ensure I never lose it cousin." Rhaenyra said with a smile to the other, tipping her head slightly to the older woman "I fear losing it would be worse then any gain I got for the action taken."
