Evidence that the showrunners have a clear Alicent favoritism: stealing Rhaenyra’s book canon moment in the spotlight and giving it to Alicent.
In the book, Rhaenyra (age 14) showed up at her father’s wedding anniversary, dressed in magnificent Targaryen red and black, outshining Alicent.
HBO decided to take Rhaenyra’s moment and give it to Alicent, so she could show up at Rhaenyra’s wedding in a green dress and indirectly declare war…for no good reason whatsoever.
Rhaenyra was the Crown Princess, and her statement made a great deal of sense in the book. She was the future of House Targaryen and no Hightower upstart would take that away from her.
Alicent’s “statement” in the show was that she was a petty and hypocritical skank who got a taste of power and kind of forgot where she came from and who she was before marrying Viserys.
I see a pattern here: whenever the showrunners try to make Alicent more sympathetic or “impressive”, it kind of backfires and damages the character even more.

Weirdly curious why HOTD/GOT fandoms* seem to think that if you like Rhaenyra, you automatically like Daenerys, and if you like Sansa, you automatically like Alicent. I love Sansa. I think she had the best character arc out of everyone on GOT & truly deserves recognition for growing and learning as a character. I despise Alicent. She spends 10 years tormenting her former bestie and refuses to see her father is a self-serving jerk who manipulated her against Rhaenyra, causing Alicent to become an equally shitty parent, manipulating her own children against their sister. If it’s not obvious, I’m a huge fan of Rhaenyra. Despite her (considerable) flaws, she’s a loving mother and daughter & would make an amazing Queen (since she’s been trained for it since childhood). I used to like Daenerys, but her later behavior (even before S8) completely changed my perception of her. After awhile, she began to believe she is owed obedience and loyalty just because of her family. While this argument could also be made against Rhaenyra, she never believed she was owed the Iron Throne and honestly seemed happiest at Dragonstone w Daemon and their delightful, blended family. She accepts the crown because it’s what her father wanted, but you never truly see Rhaenyra expecting blind obedience from people, while Daenerys is offended when she isn’t given automatic loyalty. Anyway, this was my very brief rant concerning this weird fandom situation & the strange assumption that those who like Sansa must like Alicent & those who like Rhaenyra must like Daenerys. Despite some interesting parallels, they’re four VERY different women, who each add something interesting to their respective shows.
EDIT: Maybe this is just my utter frustration at trying to have civilized conversations online, but if you’re a dick in the comments, I will block you. This is a rule I have across all social media platforms. It is not worth the energy or anxiety to argue with people when they’re clearly just looking for a fight. Since I’ve only recently started using Tumblr (despite having an account for a decade; thanks, porn bots, for forcing me to make a real page), I had hoped it would be different than Twitter or Instagram, where people can be wildly toxic. Guess I was wrong.
*Strictly TV fandoms, as I haven’t read any GRRM & refuse to wade into those hurricane-tossed waters

Prompt 187
Clockwork would openly admit that he couldn’t see Danny’s timelines. Not since the moment he stepped into that portal and became something more. A child of Infinity, of the very Realms itself.
But he’ll also admit that it always meant that the child surprised him all the time. This just happened to be a startling surprise, and an admittedly amusing one, even if Danny was openly complaining about the situation.
“It’s not fair! You have to be able to fix this, right? Right?!” the ghostling, quite literally now, practically yanked at his cloak. “Clockwork, I was going to graduate, I can’t be two! Please, you’re the master of Time, you can fix this right!?”
No, no he could not, seeing as young Daniel was in fact, immune to timeline machinations, doubly so for his own. To the ghostling’s open distress, which he did his best to soothe. What he could do instead, was stop time in his home dimension, and instead let him age back up again.
Which the young halfa wasn’t happy about, but it was the best thing they had, so Clockwork supposed he had a ghostling now. A tiny adorable ghostling who kept pouting each time his much younger body had any sort of effect on his behavior.
He’d never exactly had a ghostling before, nevermind one who was part human, but he would admit he honestly was enjoying it. Most time was spent alone, something he hadn’t realized until Danny ended up crashing into his unlife.
Honestly he would openly admit that he absolutely adored his little ghostling. Who was now around four, at least physically, and had gotten into the adorable habit of curling up in the pendulum in his chest. Which was honestly the safest spot in Long Now, he’d admit.
The singular issue however, with this habit, was that when someone attempted to summon him, they got his ghostling as well. And well, normally he could very much control himself for these summonings that happened every few hundred or so years, but well. There was a reason why even the Observants had stopped popping in the moment they realized he had a ghostling.
Nesting ghosts do not mess around should they feel one is messing with their very vulnerable child, and really it’s not his fault the mortal cultists woke up and startled Danny. Perhaps deleting them from the timeline was a bit too far, if the other mortals rapid paling was to go by, but oh well.

Can you comment and give your opinion on this post? I find it nonsense
https://www.tumblr.com/starlight-and-thunder/732982971613741056/about-sir-criston-in-house-of-the-dragon
Hi! I have made a thorough analysis of the night Rhaenyra slept with Crispin. The link is right here:
https://www.tumblr.com/drakaripykiros130ac/733879360535281664/green-stans-rhaenyra-used-criston-and-coerced
It basically explains how Rhaenyra absolutely did NOT coerce Crispin to sleep with her, and how a kingsguard took advantage of the princess he was sworn to protect in order to satisfy his sexual desires.
I have read the post you mentioned and it is absolute nonsense, just as you say. Most of what is said in it has already been contradicted by me in my own analysis.
Long story short: Crispin became the sworn shield to a princess of only 14 in the show, and 8 in the books. In the show, you can clearly see his attraction towards her since the moment he first saw her. He was practically undressing her with his eyes.
He had been a constant in her life for years and years (unlike Daemon, who was mostly gone from Court). Rhaenyra basically grew up with Crispin at her side (and Harwin too).
And the night Rhaenyra returned from the brothel, she was drunk and upset. He insisted on getting in her business, as he always does, and ended up playing “catch the helmet” with her in her own bedroom. Was it really that necessary for him to continue playing and take that helmet back, when he clearly saw the state she was in?
No. He chose to stay. And when she kissed him, his mouth said “no” but his body was screaming “YES”. He didn’t walk out that door as he was supposed to. No one held a gun to his head. On the contrary, he was enjoying himself when kissing her, and then he is even seen smiling. It’s obvious what was in his mind at that moment: “Yay! I finally get to sleep with the princess!”
And to even suggest that Rhaenyra would do something to get him in trouble, tortured or killed is beyond bullshit. When has Rhaenyra ever displayed this kind of viciousness or cunningness in her youth? When has the Realm’s Delight done harm to a close friend? Because I remind you that she considered Crispin a close friend at that time. She would have NEVER done anything to harm him. If he had walked out that door and not taken advantage of her, she wouldn’t have said anything (she would have probably been too ashamed herself to even mention the night ever again). Just as she said nothing after they did the deed.
After Crispin betrayed her and practically became her “enemy” out of pettiness, did Rhaenyra say something about that night? No, she didn’t. She could have. She could have gotten Crispin fired at least or had his head chopped off and there was nothing that Alicent or the Hightowers could have done about it. She could have gone to her father and the Council and accused him of having r*ped her out of revenge for how he started treating her, as well as her sons. Rhaenyra was the Crown Princess and he was a kingsguard who was already on thin line for having murdered someone at her own wedding without facing any consequences. I doubt that Viserys or the Council would have disregarded her accusations. Lord Commander Westerling would have surely believed her, and would have told Crispin to remove his cloak. Alicent would not have been able to protect him. Rhaenyra could have been rid of him for good.
But did she do that? No. And that’s pretty honorable of her if you ask me. I am certain other women wouldn’t have wasted the opportunity to ruin someone like him if they could.
And what was it that Alicent herself said in the book? It was something like “Who protects the princess from Ser Criston Cole?”
If Alicent herself ends up saying that, Crispin’s intentions towards the young princess are rather obvious. His desire for the princess, both in the show and in the book obviously meant more to him than those vows he took or the white cloak. He is no honorable knight. And then he had the nerve to blame her for his own vice, and practically demand her hand in marriage just so he wouldn’t feel guilty for what he willingly did. After she rejected him, he turned into a spurned lover and did everything in his power to ruin her life simply because he hated her. This man should have never been allowed to wear that white cloak. He is an embarrassment.
To even suggest that Rhaenyra is to blame for what happened that night between her and a man sworn to protect her is just preposterous.

people are treating grrm post like it's just another opinion on the source material. girl no. he wrote the fucking source material. when he tells you that hel was beloved of the smallfolk and rhaenyra was not it's not his opinion it's a fact. when he tells you that the people of KL rebelled and sought justice for hel it's not an opinion it's a fact. making posts quoting the author's work trying to prove why acshually hel was not that important nor was she that loved and that gwurlbos qween rhae-rhae was acshally loved so much by the people of king's landing because the people in her father's court named her "the realm's delight" when she was 5yo. be so fr The Cope.
y'all are always talking about feminism so why are you so bothered by the idea that another woman that is not rhaenyra was loved and important? why are so bothered by the idea that Queen Helaena was an important character and the entire population of KL fought for her?
anyways, in the words of GRRM - "Queen Helaena was loved. Rhaenyra was not."
