For my first couple years of undergrad, almost all of my closest friends were significantly older than me. Like, anywhere from mid 20’s to mid 30’s, upperclassmen and alumni. It was pretty awesome! I got exposed to a whole range of post-college life experiences and met a ton of people.
Now I’m doing an internship during a mid-career masters program alongside a bunch of younger undergrads and like, damn, they need a nap and maybe a bit of support, but it’s pretty neat experiencing this from the other side!!
I don’t have a real point here, other than that I think it’s generally healthy to have friends in a wide age range. Also I would love to post more about the science that we’re doing but if I get too specific the NDA’s will activate and [DATA EXPUNGED] straight to the brainstem.
