Very LOONNNNGGGGGG thread incoming!
Okay, FINALLY introducing the Starfield Voyagers!
I tried varying their body types and tried going out of bounds of what I'm used to drawing. The shoes were what I struggled with the most, honestly. Many of these characters don't really have an official character design, so I had to improvise on clothing. I don't really know if I did good with the posing of the crew members; hopefully the poses convey their personalities.
Okay, enough with the rambling, onto character details!
1st row(with obligatory Philomina sketch):
Citron Volta: Engineer of the Starfield Voyagers and mechanic of the Pricilla Via. Citron Volta is a lazy person in nature, only doing things when she wants to and refusing to do things that she doesn't want to. She's very unorganized, with contraptions and mechanical parts of robots littering the ground of her workshop. Nonetheless, her skills are exceptional. She's an alumni of the Starfield Voyagers.
Clarensis "Clarence": A very mysterious passenger aboard the Priscilla Via. 2nd oldest member of the Starfield Voyagers, behind only by the captain herself. Philomina states that Clarensis is a "princess" hailing from a crystal-covered world, and that she's on the run from assailants who wish to use or assassinate her. She's cold to strangers but very touchy once she gets to know you well.
Kamui "Scopes" Alphei: A young fishman native to the panthalassic planet, Aleviang. He's studying in an apprenticeship under cosmos-renowned navigator Nimbus Strom aboard the Priscilla Via. He is very bashful and timid, but passionate in learning more about different planets. "Scopes" is a nickname for him given by the Starfield Voyagers. Most recent addition to the crew.
2nd row:
"Lio": A boisterous and gentle man who swore an oath of pacifism despite his violent background. Although he has no specific job in the Starfield Voyagers, "Lio" helps around the Priscilla Via however he can, whether it be protecting the members or hauling around heavy equipment. He has not disclosed his real name, only wanting to go by "Lio" from now on. Lio is on the Priscilla Via so that Philomina can interview him.
Morloom: A heliobi sealed inside a blank grimoire, Morloom swears vengeance on Philomina if it's the last thing he'll do. But for now, he will amuse the Bibliophile. Morloom has a terrible personality, he constantly antagonizes the crew, does petty pranks, and tries to convince unsuspecting people to open the grimoire so that he can consume their energy. Philomina keeps him on a tight leash.
Nimbus Strom: The lead navigator of the Starfield Voyagers and a very meticulous and stern old man. Nimbus Strom is a hard man to please, always critical of things as a perfectionist. Although he didn't want one at first, Strom realized how important it was to pass down knowledge to the next generation, hence why he has an apprentice. Leader of the Navigator's Omni Alliance and former teacher in the Intelligentsia Guild(and taught Dr Ratio).
3rd row(Housekeeping Trio):
Aliscia Corduroy: A lady maid who serves with wide, piercing eyes and an abyssal smile. Don't let her unnerving face concern you, Aliscia Corduroy is one of the most loving of the Starfield Voyagers. She enjoys whatever activity comes her way with exuberant excitement, especially if it's cleaning. When speaking , she poses with dramatic flair and unabashed attitude. Aliscia is a big fan of Robin and her music.
Lucius: A butler of few words, Lucius is a gentleman with quiet finesse. Most times, you won't hear him appearing behind you, reminding you to eat before you sleep. Philomina gifted Lucius a bell earring simply because his silent presence kind of freaked her out. Lucius is nonverbal about a lot of things: his past, his likes and dislikes, even his true thoughts(Phil tried reading his mind once). An alumni of the Starfield Voyagers.
Magdalene: A pepeshi from the Alfalfa family that left the Planet of Festivities, Penacony, in order to pursue a life outside of the bounds of the Dreamscape. However, a life aboard the Priscilla Via was not a life she envisioned. Begrudgingly, she decided to stay since it's easy to form commercial connections when she's beside an influential figure. It's not that she enjoys the company of these people, really...
I will most definitely be redesigning some of the crew members in the future, but this is all I have for now. Thank you for your patience!
...
This is what I felt like after finishing this page.

@blckswnstm said : Who would've thought that an Intelligentsia Guild's Dr. Veritas Ratio would be accepting of a dance? Especially as she bends down a bit to place a kiss to the back of his hand, showing respect yet still leading the dance on. Their closeness is noticeable as the dance requires such needs, but who would've thought he'd accept it? Black Swan smiles at him, delighted at the prospect of being able to enjoy such moment with someone as selective as Veritas. "Have you found what you wish to know next?" She asks, using this opportunity to engage in a short conversation. Why would he allow a Memokeeper to be so close? Out of personal interest in studying their craft or because he has questions to ask of her? The possibilities are countless, and thus it makes divining just challenging enough. There are no cards, though, not when they turn according to music's tune. "For you to accept my hand and this dance, this closeness that not many would be allowed to step in. You've allowed me, a Memokeeper, to speak with you like this. But worry not, I will not pry," she uses this moment to turn them, effortlessly and gracefully. He can twirl her if he wishes. Their heights allow this to happen easier. "I will ensure you enjoy this dance as a show of gratitude for indulging me in my personal hobby." The royal balls one were held in that castle, she was a princess who danced with countless partners. So long ago, too long ago.
⸻ how rhetorical. to be in the presence of a memokeeper , is to balance on a tightrope , with the knowledge that a storm is to come. and shove the destined to their demise. but , with the sliver of an instance , the mere blink that exists when stabilising , offers more than any text across the cosmos might offer.
the ambitious pursuit of knowledge was a dangerous one , indeed. and not one to be taken be the light — hearted. nor the fools.
her questions , spun to leave even the erudite stunned , basks in the glow of their routine. where their bodies move in symphony , as if tugged by strings belonging to a puppeteer. although , there is acute awareness that every capability exists , and were he to decide upon a wrong move , their dance would be cut short. like the threads the fates would snip with their scissors.
but an emanator of fuli , is not one to trifle with.
❝ i would not accept your hand without realising the repercussions this interaction could pose. ❞ it is true , that their heights are rather befitting for this scenario. for veritas twirls the soothsayer as if it were written to be. ❝ but rejecting your offer would have no difference and i would be a fool to anger a memokeeper of the garden of recollection. ❞
to his chest she spins , briefly caged , in an almost tender embrace.
his organ thrums , against the memetic entity until she is discarded , and twisted away from the chest of the scholar. where eyes meet , flickering in gradients that would blend harmoniously. ❝ what i seek is insurmountable. to have a potential source with answers lying in wait , is tempting , but greed leads to ruin. ❞
footwork resumes , and the music endows the pair , continuing a rare reprieve. ❝ how then , memokeeper , will you prove your word to be true ? ❞
#* ✦ 𝐈𝐈. ❮ asks ❯ ⸻ ❝#* ✦ 𝐕𝐈. ❮ muses ❯ ⸻ ❝ 「 veritas ratio 」#* ✦ blckswnstm#* ✦ blckswnstm | black swan#i have no words tbh#but i loved writing this so#i only hope i didnt overstep or anything because im pretty certain veritas knows about memokeepers and all#he is just a man though so like take that how you will#trying the formatting out again but also its 12 am

hardest of hearts.
summary: lady kagome ikeda & dr. ratio reunite at herta space station.
a/n: these two are fun to write. potentially OOC ratio but like. this is my first time writing him give me a break dhjfghjkgdfhjkdfg. ANYYYYYWAYYYYY
cw/s: OC x Canon (kinda) otherwise none?? they kinda argue but it's nothing extreme.
words: ~700
"So, this is where you ran off to, Kagome?"
A familiar voice unceremoniously graces the grey-haired maiden's senses, yet she spares no time in continuing to ignore it. She shuts her book with a soft thud, but does not rise from her desk - instead, she pulls out another book and looks to her assistant with a serene smile.
"Dear Junko, can you grab me some more Sakura tea from the lounge?" Kagome requests with the grace of a princess.
"…Are you sure? I don't want to leave you alone with this…freak." Junko side-eyes Dr. Ratio who had trampled into the isolated office just now, "That feral dog might bite you."
"…Pardon? A feral dog now, huh? I'd say you need to look in a mirror—" Dr. Ratio moves his mouth to retort, but is no short of interrupted.
"Shut up." Junko - the white-haired yet rather ragged-looking young lady - spits, her lilac eyes glowing with apparent rage. "Why are you even here - to berate my boss?" She hisses.
"Ah, your boss. Mrs. Ikeda certainly has risen through the ranks - from a professor at the Intelligentsia Guild to a well-known member of the Genius Society. Or is it Ms. Ikeda - yet again?" He retorts in a state of ataraxis - all the while keeping his eyes trained on his once-colleague.
"How dare you—" Junko growls, storming over to him and raising her hand.
"Junko." Kagome finally intercepts, "Please - two cups of Sakura tea. One for him, one for me." She breathes, her demeanor similar to his own.
"…As you wish." Junko's hand flops to her side as she scoffs and strides past the so-called "doctor," moving to the door - and then she's gone.
"Now, Dr. Ratio…" Kagome sighs, gesturing to an empty seat in front of her desk, "Sit. Please."
"Hmph. I will. You needn't rise to the occasion." He scoffs while striding over, taking a quick seat - folding one knee over the other, and crossing his arms. "Now, you… Do tell me why you insist on running away from the leagues of erudition. I didn't peg you for being a coward nor a heretic."
"Why are you so concerned with what I do with myself?" She finally glances at him - her dull silverine eyes giving no sway to any emotion. Perhaps curiosity, but nothing beyond or below that. And before he can respond, she speaks again, "But that's neither here nor there. Why did you come? Surely not to grace me with your presence."
"Hardly." He shakes his head, already unamused with her lackadaisical and apathetic view of him. "I was begged - utterly beseeched - by colleagues to implore you to return to the Guild."
"No thanks." She swiftly answers, with no hesitation - with no pause. "I am quite content with my plentiful supply of Sakura tea and midday catnaps." She smiles, a similar smile to earlier. She does truly seem happier - at least, in his gilded eyes.
"Tea and catnaps… I must admit that it is odd to hear that coming from you of all people." His fingers tap against his bicep, "It appears to me that you've grown quite comfortable with your…new life. Tell me - just how cushy is it?"
"Very." She smiles more, but now it's teasing - almost downright mocking. "Anyway, you skirt around your true feelings… Now, you tell me," She sighs with the serenity of a nymph at rest, "You did not come here out of the favor of others, but to visit me all on your own, hm? You missed me. I'm quite flattered."
"You—" He grumbles, a blush tinting his cheeks, "You are being ridiculous - even more so. Perhaps even beyond lunacy. Why would I ever dare step foot in your office out of my own volition?"
"You're the lunatic. Or maybe a fool in love… Hehe." She giggles.
"I am leaving—" He rises to his feet, his full - and haughty - height.
"Halt for a moment." She also rises, grabs a small piece of paper - a sticky note - and sticks it to his forehead. "My number - should you ever want to…debate the likeliness of your infatuation."
"…You insult me." He turns on his heel and storms out of the office.
"We are equals, Veritas - don't forget that. I will never look down on you, but…I do enjoy teasing you. Have a nice day."
(Have a nice day? Not with you in my thoughts—) He tears the sticky note from his forehead, staring down at the string of numbers on it - it's indeed her phone number. (Ridiculous woman… She is no idiot, but she is beyond insanity.)

Who's Who in Terra Online
(Credit to Megpie71 for putting this together)
In order of appearance. Format is: Terra Name – Gaian name. Guild names are in italics with the word “guild” affixed. Brief description including race, class(es) (classes in parentheses are classes the character currently doesn’t have the level for), job. [Chapter of first appearance/mention]. NB: side characters are only mentioned where I feel they might be cameo appearances from outside Final Fantasy VII.
Cait Sith – AI moderator, reporting to Reeve Tuesti on the (rare) occasions where human intervention might be useful or necessary. Sentient bipedal cat toy, no class, no job. [Ch1]
Rainstorm - Cloud Strife, our long-suffering hero. Viera, Swordsman (Black Mage), Blacksmith. [Ch1]. Honorific: The Rabbit of Caerbannog [Ch7].
Red XIII - Nanaki. Cosmo Canyon Beast, Shaman/Black Mage, Alchemist [Ch2]. Player lives in Cosmo Canyon [Ch14]. Other player’s explanations for his appearance vary between hacking [Ch4, Ch14]; transformation item [Ch12].
Treasure Princess - Yuffie Kisaragi. Gria, Ninja (Thief), Craftsman [Ch4]. Player lives in Wutai [Ch14]. Actually 9 – 10 years old, although the lower age limit is 13 [Ch54]
The Overseers guild - The Turks, with a monopoly on information gathering and distribution. [Ch4] Guildmaster: Loyal. Named members: Zoto, Civil, Shuriken
Civil - Rude (who has possibly even less imagination than Sephiroth - I suspect this online 'nick was either Reno's or Cissnei's suggestion.). Human [Ch54], class and job unknown. [Ch4]
Zoto - Reno (the tag which gets translated into "yo" in English is "zoto" in Japanese). Miqo'te, Martial Artist, job unknown. [Ch4]
Sephiroth - Sephiroth (Look, Hojo probably discouraged imagination very early on in his life unless it ran along certain highly specific channels to do with carnage and destruction). Human, Swordsman, blacksmith [Ch7]. Honorific: The General [Ch7]
Loyal - Tseng. Elf [Ch54], Gunner/Time Mage [Ch54/55], job unknown [Ch9].
BELOVED – Genesis Rhapsodos (who has, gods alone know how, probably managed to figure out a way to weaponise "Loveless" quotes). Elf, Red Mage [Ch17], job unknown. [Ch9]
Noble - Angeal Hewley, race unknown, class unknown (I would love to learn Angeal's class - it's probably something like Paladin/Thief. "The more he spoke of his honour, the faster we counted the spoons."), Cook. [Ch9]
Naut - Cid Highwind. Moogle, Machinist/Dragoon, Armourer. [Ch10]
MastersOfAir guild – guild which was originally a small guild focussed on aeronautics and flight, but has changed focus to wing production and increasing guild rank since a change of guild master. Naut is a known member [Ch10, Ch47]. (First appearance shows them as “Masters of Air” with spaces [Ch10]).
LongSuffering - Shera Highwind (who has chosen an accurate 'nick). Burmecian, Red Mage, Cook [Ch12].
Bigshot - Barrett Wallace. Ronso, Grenadier, Armourer [Ch13].
Mena - Myrna Wallace. Ronso, Fighter, Blacksmith [Ch13].
Heroes guild - young, up-and-coming SOLDIERs and SOLDIER-wannabes who are willing to go along with Zack's enthusiasm for heroism and heroics, and Angeal's insistence on honourable conduct. Guild Master: Wolfhound. Known Members: Guide, Light, Noble [Ch17].
LOVELESS guild - Genesis is the guild master, and it's interested in literature, theatrics, and so on. Probably winds up as the home of the "intelligentsia" of Terra Online [Ch17].
The Demon of the Wastes [Ch18] - Vincent Valentine, who has (at my best guess) been wired into a prototype VRDC by Hojo as a bit of sadistic toying, or possibly some early experimentation in mental erasure... hoping if programmers tried to erase the "glitch", it would wind up wiping Vincent's mind. Understands the Overseer’s (Turks) sign language.
Sonata - Tifa Lockhart. Human, Martial Artist, Cook [Ch27].
The Army guild – Non-SOLDIER members of the Shinra military [Ch27].
Seventh Heaven guild – Guild master: Sonata. Named members: Sonata. Tifa's vanity guild, set up so she can operate her tavern in-game. (Does Cait Sith know about Seventh Heaven yet? It might be more ammunition toward allowing player building in the Wastes) [Ch27].
The Analytical guild - Shinra scientists (although probably not Hojo or Hollander - neither of them seem the type) [Ch27].
Flower - Aerith Gast-Gainsborough (who apparently does the sorts of weird things to physics in Terra Online that she does to botany and biology in Gaia offline). Elf, Summoner, Beast Tamer [Ch27]
Shuriken - Cissnei, using her alternate codename from Before Crisis. Fairy [Ch54], class and job unknown. Brown hair, dark purple wings. [Ch33]
OVERKILL guild – Guild master: Raincloud. Initial membership: Raincloud & Vincent, RedXIII, Treasure Princess, Bigshot, Mena, Flower. [Ch34]
Vieravenger guild – an all-Viera revenge guild, out to kill Rainstorm because due to his gender-bender disguise, female Viera are now being attacked by bounty hunters. They’ve all sworn blood-feud on Rainstorm. [Ch47]
WhenItRains guild – a Rainstorm fan guild. Mostly player killers and griefers, as well as the sort of fetish player who gets a kick out of being killed by the Rabbit of Caerbannog. [Ch47]
Wolfhound – Zack Fair. Guild master of the Heroes guild. Werewolf, class unknown, job unknown [Ch49]
Guide – Kunsel. Member of the Heroes guild. [Ch49]
Light – Luxiere. Member of the Heroes guild. [Ch49]
Victoria – offline name unknown. Guild Master: Vieravenger guild. Viera, Assassin, Alchemist. Honorific: Head Bitch in Command. Title: Ravager [Ch53]
