It was the fated time of year, the quarterly exams and midterms were coming up. Usually you handled the time period with a bit more grace, but this year, calling you stressed was an understatement.

Why the hell did every teacher decide to put all their midterms withing 2 days of eachother. You've got to study for one course and be sure to be prepared for the class directly after. And which classes allowed notecards again?

It was just so much to think about.

Your boyfriend didn't fail to notice your work. Not texting for hours, but suddenly responding to his at ungodly hours of the night. Spending every free period to go tobthe library or study hall. Not being able to walk home with him after practice, because you need to go home and study right away.

Not only was it your absence and constant need to work that was bugging him, but you looked more exhausted everyday, implying you've been eating and sleeping little.

As supportive and proud as he was that you're taking the responsible path and preparing, you're habits were getting a bit toxic.

He decided not to interfere and just support you through it, he was sure you knew your limits. That was until his phone woke him up at 1 am with a text from you, sending him a meme as you were taking a break.

1 am is the time you should be asleep and allowing yourself to recover- and you weren't even done studying yet?!

He put on his jacket and started heading to the library. And lo and behold, there you were, resuming your studies, one hand holding a book open, the other taking notes. It looked as if it was taking all your strength just to hold your body up, your eyes straining to stay open.

You didn't notice his presence until he stood in front of you.

You blinked and quickly panicked "shoot I'm sorry did I wake you up? I didn't mean to, I'll text you much earlier next time-"

He started packing up your books and put them in your bag. It was odd to find him this quiet and calm, usually it's was quite nice and held a majority of your domestic moments, but you didn't know what to make of it now.

"Listen," he started, "it's amazing that you're getting ready and putting this dedication into your midterms, but you've gotta take care of yourself. Cmon we're going home-"

You cut him off "wait nonono, I gotta finish my chemistry, i promise just that and I'll go back, I didn't mean to wake you, just let me finish"

He zipped up your bag and slung it on his forearm. "Sorry, no can do"

You shrieked a bit and he squatted and scooped you in his arms, before you could even react and process his movements. Suddenly he threw you over his shoulders, supporting your arms and legs on either side of him.

"Ko, put me down, I'll go home soon"

"And by soon, you mean 5 minutes. Because you're going home with me"

He carried you out in this manner, gaining some odd looks from night shift librarians. But they've honestly seen worse.

You thought he would set you down after a block or two, but he continued on. But maybe he'll drop you off at your house? Nope never mind.

"Ko. We passed my house"

"Yeah no, we both know if i drop you off there, you'll keep working. Just for tonight you're staying at my place to make sure you at least relax a bit"

And finally as you arrived at his place he set you down, holding your hand as you readjust your weight on the ground.

He guided you to his room, setting your bag down on a chair. Pulling you in through the doorway he took off any accessories you had on, making you as comfortable as he could, before finally sitting you down on his bed.

"Tomorrow is Saturday, and we're gonna sleep through the whole day whether you like it or not" he giggled as he pressed a final kiss to your forehead.

I hit the 10 image post limit so I had to reblog to finish.

For the next category we’re gonna move in to the more modern Disney movies (ie made after 2012)

For this one I have a lot of options (only bc these are franchises)

Descendants and Teen Beach Movie are both so good that I genuinely can’t choose which one is better. So I’ll choose the best movies from their respective franchises.

Best descendants movie is the very first one. Very original premise, GREAT romance, very funny, and the music is downright addictive (did I mention?). Also, Kristin Chenoweth was the perfect choice for Maleficent (her work as Glinda the good prepared her purrr).

The 2nd one is the next best in my opinion, and the 3rd one is kinda forgettable.

For Teen Beach Movie I’m gonna go w the original bc it’s just so good. It’s very west side story meet cheesy Disney movie. Good romance, very good music, fun choreography, and the cast is just great (Ross lynch 👌). Second movie was lackluster

This next category is just some mentions of movies that came out either before I was born or that I was too young to watch when they first came out. I might put 3 for this one idk

Apparently this is not a DCOM but it’s one of my favorite movies and I originally thought it was a DCOM so it counts: Life Size. Love this movie so much. Tyra Banks is so pretty and even tho I didn’t play w dolls when I was younger this definitely made me want to start

Next is Smart House. It kinda banked on peoples fear of AI but it was good nonetheless. Surprisingly I don’t have much to say about this one but it’s funny and was very entertaining

Number 3 is Cadet Kelly. Something about teenage girls being badass and beating expectations resonates w me idk. Plus it has Hillary Duff and what else could you want in a movie?

Lastly I have a miscellaneous category. This one is for movies I couldn’t quite place in any genre, but they deserve to be ranked anyway

Princess Protection Program. Two of the biggest Disney stars of that time period in one movie? Literally amazing. Definitely brought some rep for our latinas (really more for Spaniards since it seemed like the princess was from a European country but still). Also the unification of a girly girl and a tomboy did something for my spirit when I was younger.

Minutemen is next. This movie seems to have a low reception but I liked it. It was interesting and kept my attention. It was kinda stupid I can’t lie, but not everything has to be a masterpiece

I would go on to name the best DCOMs that are based off of Disney shows as a category but I feel like this list is super long already.

But there goes my Disney connoisseur definitive ranking of DCOMs

Best romance- Starstruck. I absolutely adore the cheesiness of this movie and the songs in here make me yearn for some reason

Best music is really hard to pick for this so I’ll have like 3 categories

For best “girly” musical I think I’m gonna have to go with Cheetah Girls 2. Music is great, plot is good, and the romance was kinda cute

Now since there are only 2 DCOM musicals (and dcoms in general) about black ppl it wasn’t that hard to choose. Let it shine beats out Jump in any day.

I know this is supposed to be about Disney movies but I feel like I gotta include Rags. It’s not all black nor is it a Disney movie but I love the songs and the romance

Okay next category for music is best nostalgia? Idk these movies remind me of childhood. This one is super hard to pick bc so many of the DCOMs were musicals when I was a child.

I know you’re probably expecting Lemonade Mouth or smth bc that’s what everyone likes but I’m gonna go with High School Musical 2. The music in this movie is *chefs kiss* and the plot is really good. I also remember looking for Miley Cyrus’ cameo in the last song

I feel like for this category I have to include some runner ups: Camp Rock, camp rock 2, hsm 1, and then hsm 3

Now we’re on to the next category, which just so happens to be Action. I feel like there is only one right answer for this and it’s Wendy Wu. The baddest disney channel bitch period. Fight scenes are kinda cheesy but I love the idea of a badass warrior who has to take a geography final the next day. Truly iconic

Next category is gonna have to be fantasy/supernatural. This one it’s also really hard to choose bc I love fantasy a lot and Disney has a few really good ones. So I’ll give my top 3 w this one in no particular order.

Twitches (both movies). How was I not supposed to choose this?? The plot is so fucking good and it has Tia and Tamera. Long lost twins who are princesses of a magical kingdom is again *chefs kiss*

Next we have Avalon High. I’m biased to this bc I love the book as well. I love the romance in this one (common theme in my favorite movies) and the plot is fantastic. King Arthur and the knight of the round table? Literally perfect.

Lastly there’s HalloweenTown (wouldn’t be a DCOM list without this legend). I love spooky shit.

I know Hocus Pocus isn’t a DCOM but it deserves an honorable mention
