Hinata (he's my fave hq character, and just might be my fave character in anything ever; I love his sunny personality so much, and when he goes feral, boi, yes go crazy you tiny little ball of sunshine. “I sprouted from the concrete“ ?? we don’t talk about the pure rawness of that line enough. chills. and his growth through the series is just 👌 💯✨ unmatched. the ball boy arc made me tear up (Hinata bby, he’s so good at making friends) and then the receive in Inarizaki match?? proud tears. him going to Brazil to train?? 🤧 when the line "I'm home!" gets animated I will cry)

Omimi (if u didn't see this coming let me elaborate, he looks scary ok but he's a sweetheart, have u seen his current concern? adorable 🥰 also he's so freaking tall I know he gives the best bear hugs 💓 also did u know Suna looks up to his blocking? this might be my biased interpretation but let's ignore that  he’s in the same class as Kita, and explains his little rituals to his underclassmen, he finds Kita’s observation skills kinda scary but boi does he respect his captain. also did u know he’s actually born the same year as the 2nd years? aka the same year as me in conclusion, Omiren hand in marriage please 💍 also since he’s a side character with so little canon information he’s so much fun to just make wild hc’s for)

Kita (I sure did sell my soul to the scary fox captain, the Mr-no-gaps-Kita-Shinsuke; everything about him is just 💗💓✨, his dutiful personality, his absolutely adorable relationship with his grannie, the respect team has for him despite being only a bench warmer before his 3rd year, how well he knows his teammates, how proud he is to be on the same team as them, his friendship with other 3rd years 💗 he's such an interesting character. and his introduction in the  anime? ✨ legendary ✨ his timeskip occupation? perfection 🌾 “I am build upon the small things I do every day“ Sokrates who? Confucius when?)

Akagi (he's a cutie and pure unbridled bringer of chaos, we know Twins are a handful but who do you think enables them?? also who let this man be a teacher love how during the Karasuno match Akagi is the one trying to keep the team on their toes when Kita isn't on the court. he's a good senpai 🎉 also he's on first name basis with Kita so they're close friends & it's my hc he's the trouble child of the 3rd years, you can't change my mind)

Aran (this poor dude has been putting up with Twins for years and if that doesn’t buy your respect then, idk maybe him being one of the top 5 aces will? him being the on-court captain? of all the Inarizaki players Ukai being the most worried about him? Hinata comparing himself to him in that one absolutely hilarious panel? his friendship with Kita? also have u noticed he’s the only one that makes Kita actually laugh (not just smile, laugh)? his current concern? so relatable, I’m wearing socks with holes all the time, Aran we’re obviously soulmates, hit me up anytime 😍)

Atsumu (for as much as I love the prettiest of pretty setters I sure don't talk about him that much. his passion for volleyball is just 💗  his relationship with Osamu is perfect, the rivalry and constant arguing, the support and love they have for each other, that’s just how twins are I know I have two in my damn house he's the perfect combination of someone I wanna punch and hug and give kisses to. also his jokes are hilarious y'all just don't appreciate them 😤)

Oikawa (he’s infuriating. because he comes off as this annoying pretty boy whose shins I want to kick twice an hour but then his complexity starts showing and I fell, never got up, but I’m still pissed about it. the amount of passion he has for volleyball? off the charts. the attention he pays to his teammates? only matched by Kita. annoying Iwa-chan all the time? relatable af, I too annoy my best friend to show my love. him going overseas to follow his dreams? as someone who left her home country for school I know how hard it can be so he has my respect and support. u go you funky little setter boy, kick everyone’s asses 🥇)

Tendou (I love him!! I love his goofy personality, I love his 0% or 120% blocking technique (Furudate where is my stz vs Inarizaki match, I wanna see him go up against Omimi so bad, I want to hear the banter between him and Atsumu, I wanna see him blocking Suna, Furudate when??); I love how friendly and close he is with everyone on the team. he’s such a good friend. everyone should have a friend like Tendou. especially his friendship with Ushijima, it warms my heart. also his time skip occupation is just 👌✨ amazing. and I want to fight everyone who bullied him, those bitches gonna catch these hands)

Bokuto (it’s Bo. how can u not love him? he has the brightest smile to warm your heart and big arms to warm you with hugs; also his quote “It’s not impossible, it’s just hard“ like yes he’s so supportive, we all need a Bokuto in our lives. the entire training camp arc is just one big Bokuto show, him just straight up proclaiming Hinata his protege and then years later they’re on the same team 😭  and he’s so friendly with everyone, please he just wants to play volleyball and make friends. the only one who shines brighter than Bo is Hinata. also, big beefy arms 👀 )

Kamomedai

Hoshiumi (he's the definition of 'poison being in small bottles'; I love this tiny feral seagull; his rivalry with Hinata? amazing. my only complain is we didn’t get more of it. his words to Hirugami when he was feeling down and fed up with volleyball? yes Hoshiumi, ur so right!! also time skip Hoshiumi is wow wow wow a revelation indeed 👀 )

Bessho (I read the line ‘Goody McGooders’ and I haven’t been the same since. I stand on the edge of falling in love with him too. he's cute, his inner monologue is hilarious, his current concern makes me laugh. what more do u want in a man? except being real)

Just some thoughts because I’m in my feels and we’ve gotten little content:

Anyone else just obsessed with Brooke dancing? I love to go back and watch her performances. She serves raw appeal that is hard to find and I love when she uses real dance moves. Not saying drag moves aren’t real dance moves, but not every queen can do leaps and spins like Brooke Lynn.

I was looking back at the s11 promos and I just wished we saw more of B&V during this time. I fully believe this time was probably their prime time. From what others have said about them celebrating each other and their fun it would of been nice to see them back then. I also notice so much in the s11 promo. Like there was so many hints. And did anyone notice how Brookes point shoes (specially the ribbon in the back) was the exact same as Vanjies ribbons around her shoes? Also Vanjies promo shoes with the ribbons was so fucking adorable. She is so tiny and cute but also her thighssss 👀 🥵

I also wish so bad that b and v can go on an Allstars together. I know the chances are u likely but it would be so entertaining. Even them just being platonic and friendly and supportive would be so amazing. Like imagine the room decorating challenge with them? Arguing about the paint colors and decor and Brooke having to reach things for Vanjie because he can’t. It’s all too much. Or like a dance challenge where their partners. No matter how much time passes NO ONE can deny the energy and chemistry they have for each other. It’s unmatchable.

I think about the most random stuff. Like did Brooke use to tighten Vanjies corset for her? When Brooke was stress would Vanjie try to tickle him and squish him to smile? After they did the nasty (I fucking can’t hahaha) did they use to kiss up and say how much they cared for each other? But also when they Brooke up. I can’t imagine how hard it was for them to see that but also have feelings but knowing it probably wasn’t going to work out and didn’t want to get hurt again.

Lastly, sorry for that long ask 😂 I’m manifesting any content for those two together. A simple like will be a blessing lol. Also if Vanjie misses a appearance within the next month on tour, it’s because she’s filming for CDR. I KNOW THATS DUMB BUT IM PUTTING IT OUT INTO THE UNIVERSE. IF SHE IS ABSENT FROM SOMETHING MY MIND WILL AUTOMATICALLY GO THERE. But Vanjie on CDR would just be so iconic and cute so she gotta be there one day.

First off I don’t blame you for being in your feelings when it comes to B and V (and like you I blame the lack of content between the two of them) since I know there’ll be times when I think about the two of them and I get a little sad because I think about their breakup and all the moments we didn’t get to see and all the moments they didn’t get to have together and everything they were feeling during that time but then I can also feel so happy and think of their friendship and all the possibilities the future holds for them and their relationship and think of all the cute moments from their past and all the great content we’ve gotten from them💜

And I’m right there with you in being obsessed with Brooke dancing😍While I love when does more “traditional” drag dancing/performances (I don’t really know how else to describe it🙈) because she’s confident and bold and commands attention but (like you) I absolutely adore when she brings in more technical/advanced dance moves like leaps and twirls. I’ve gone back to watch her early performances so many times and I watched all of the ballet performances of B that I can get my hands on and I love each and every time she’s en pointe because she’s just so strong and graceful and stunning🤩

I always want to see more of B and V’s early days, especially when they were brought together to do Drag Race things and got to be together but also got to have fun with their season 11 sisters (who I believe were usually teasing them about their coupley behavior😁). And I remember when they first announced that there was going to be a relationship between two queens in season 11 and I was trying to figure out who it would be. I watched the first episode and they showed B and V talking about how hot/handsome the other was but I still didn’t believe it was them but then they finally kissed and blatantly flirted a couple of episodes later and that settled it🙈😆But you’re definitely right that when you go back and rewatch the season 11 promo there really are so many hints that there was something between them and I always smile and shake my head about how at the time I paid no attention to Vanjie cutting Brooke’s pointe shoe ribbon at the end when now I realize just what they were trying to tell us. I love B’s promo look because she’s so fierce and elegant and you can tell that she’s enjoying herself and fully embracing her talent🥰And V was definitely adorable in the promo shoot because she was definitely tiny and cute (like you said) and was so confident and herself and I think we can all agree that her thighs looked amazing (but honestly when do they not?)😍

And like you I have dreamed of B and V on All Stars together so many times even though I know that the likelihood of this happening isn’t great since neither of them really need to do it with their current careers. I feel like if it does happened it won’t be for years (just like if they ever got back together😘) but I stans by that there’s no way they’d let one of them go on All Stars without the other since (like you said) it’d be too entertaining to miss and B and V would end up giving us and the editors/producers so much content (even without necessarily meaning to😁). You’re right about the fact that the two of them have so much chemistry together and can’t help but smile and blush and giggle and have fun and be cute whenever they’re around each other so them being together would definitely be so amazing🤩I absolutely love your idea of B having to grab things that V can’t reach (I need to see this in a fanfic somewhere🙏🏻) and I’ve always wanted B and V to perform together in almost a recreation of the tango Katya and Violet did during the Prancing Queens challenge in season 7. They’d both be so sexy and perfect and work in their mesmerizing chemistry and B would be all passion and power and perform the steps flawlessly and V would be fiery and bold and give the moves a little extra flare😉

You wondering if Brooke used to tie Vanjie’s corset for her definitely brings me back to that night when B was backstage at one of V’s performances and he was trying help her zip up her outfit/fix her zipper (which is a moment I love-especially when they re-enacted their Untucked kiss😍) so I would like to think that the two of them helped each other out when they could during their season (especially because it would’ve given them more time to talk and interact and flirt😘) and when they performed together afterward. I also adore the cuteness of your idea of V cuddling and tickling B when her anxiety hit as a way to relax her and make her smile (another great fanfic idea😁) and I think that V is too warm and kind and empathetic to not do something to try to cheer B up and B definitely loves V’s silliness and sweetness and bubbly nature so there’s no doubt that she was able to calm him down and bring a smile to his face☺️Then there’s their sex life (which I have thought way too much about for so many different reasons🙈) and I’m reminded of when Brooke shared that “funny story about Vanjie” in that cameo and how she said that V was super cuddly while he wanted his space to sleep and how V would just watch him while he was sleeping🙈I do think that both of them were very touchy and affectionate (since it’s in their natures to be) and it was all so new so you know there was some tenderness and discovery but also some lust and longing😍And I don’t like to think about their break up (I still haven’t even made it through the reunion and refuse to watch it again😫) but I know there were definitely so many feelings swirling around inside both of them (like hurt and anger and heartbreak and sadness and worry and doubt) so it makes me so happy to see what a good place they’re at now in their relationship and to know that they were truly able to work through any bad feelings or issues and stay close friends because they refuse to not be a fixture in each other’s lives🥰

And I’m always craving any kind of interaction between the two of them and it feels like we’ve gone so long without any content from them so I’m definitely anxious for it🙏🏻And I fully support your desire to see Vanjie on Canada’s Drag Race since (like you said) it would be iconic and amazing and you know V would have so much fun and be so happy to be there and B would be laughing at everything she says and just enjoying her presence (as usual)😊I’ll join you in putting it out into the universe since it’s definitely something that needs to happen and I would absolutely love thing to see the two of them together😍

My Opinion on;

Character in general: Oof, right okay so my initial reaction to our dearest and hottest Grease Daddy when you find him snoozing in the tunnels was as follows: 

“What the actual smashed potato is this and why the CAPITAL F do I gotta fight it...?” 

I was not impressed, not at all, but mostly because I’m as dense as dark matter and didn’t realise I needed to use a long range attack in the initial throws of that battle so spent a good solid 10 minutes or so just tryna catch up to the fricker. 

Anyway, that fight didn’t put Roche in the greatest stead, but his laugh and his general craziness did strike a bit of a chord, considering that Cloud doesn’t absolutely decimate him in that fight I had every reason to believe that he’d show up again, which, of course he did, but I had my difficulty set quite high and poor Cloud was hanging by a thread when he pops up for a second time. So I sit there on my bed absolutely CRAPPING myself just thinking this guy with the most fabulous hair and the most GORGEOUS eyes in the entire game is going use Cloud as a floor mop~ 

But then Roche HEALS him to make the fight fair. THAT was when my outlook suddenly changed, that there is so much more to this SOLDIER dude than what meets the eye. I mean you don’t see a lot of him, he only appears twice, but the dynamics between those two instances are so very different as in that first bout, Roche seems to just be looking for trouble. He found that in Cloud and lost. BUT that loss seemed to ignite a fire in him that Roche was perhaps lacking up until that point. The prospect of challenging Cloud excites him and thus he can’t resist a second chance to either prove himself, or just to drink in whatever power Cloud can deliver. (I like to think it’s the latter... I’m rather hot for this ship I won’t lie...) With Roche’s demeanour seeming a lot calmer and more focused (If a lil flirtatious, ooh la la~) in that second bout I was yet again forced to consider that there’s a lot about this guy that we are yet to discover, and I hope he turns up in the second instalment, he had better or Squeenix gone get an angry e-mail off yours truly. 

Anyway, this dude... fuck, he’s got everything right? He’s sexy, suave and is an actual BEAST with that bike of his. I love him like... I just love him so much that words are failing me now <3

How they play them: Okay, my Moogle Mooglie Moogs, Listen to Saphie ‘kay? You have so fucking little to go on, literally all you’ve been presented with here is a face, the very baseline of a personality and some little snippets of lore if you were smart enough to use your Assess Materia on him. As you can probably guess I wasn’t that smart... But you’ve taken those little bite sized chunks and you’ve created this absolute MONSTER of a character, off your own merit with your own HC’s, ideas and lore that give this minor character who is seemly so sadly overlooked so much fucking DEPTH. You’ve implimented him into such a complex story which is already written and you’ve done it with such care and skill it boggles my head how you did it at all, and I applaud you for that! I wanna know more, I want all the reactions the good, the bad, tragically sad and the foul. I want it all, and YOU did that. There’s so much you’ve poured into this guy that... I don’t think you quite understand how happy it makes me whenever I see his cute face in my inbox or I get a reply to our thread. The passion and the sheer power you put into every reply, listen, I ain’t blowing smoke up your ass, I wouldn’t do that, but you’ve created such a treasure here and I am certainly not the only one who thinks so, that much I can promise you. Your writing is, in short, out of this fucking world that I was a bit star struck when we first started interacting. I loved Roche anyway for the reasons stated above, but you solidified it~

Cam hasn’t always been a hard worker, but she was raised in a situation where she had to become an adult very quickly, raising their two younger brothers considering their parents couldn’t. Albeit very lazy at times, she was pushed by the owner of She Loves Me and eventually fell in love with the entire trade. She might not be a morning person, but the flower shop is the only reason she’s excited to wake up at that time each and every morning. Having security is what is most important to her, and she never wants to rely on anyone EVER for that.

What is most obvious about your character? She’s blunt as hell, and speaks her mind often without thinking about what comes out of her mouth, or even softening the blow. Cam is also very protective of her family and close friends, and exudes a quiet confidence unmatched by many. Don’t cross her, for she loses her temper quite easily.

Who and what kind of people does your character surround themselves with? Family, and friends she considers family. Cam also cannot stand dishonest people, or people who are inconsiderate, so she’ll rarely have time for people like this.

THE ASCENDING ( SCORPIO ): How the world sees you…

In a public setting, would your character be easy to adapt or hesitant wherever they are? Easily adept. Like a Scorpio, she blazes her own trail no matter what others think, and rarely, if ever, cares about what anyone in the town thinks of her. Cam has learned not to allow herself to be affected by town gossip, knowing her family used to be the very centre of it growing up. She does her own thing, and is in some ways a little intimidating at times.

Is your character an extrovert or an introvert? An extrovert, through and through, though she has introvert qualities like enjoying one’s own company more often than not.

What qualities do you think people first see in your character? Her passion, her bluntness, her fight to be authentic. She also appears very closed off, which might very well be the case sometimes but, she’s very in tune with her emotions, and sees a lot more than she lets off.

THE MOON ( TAURUS ): Your habits, reactions, and instincts…

What moment does your character relive, either consciously or unconsciously? Moments in her childhood, though. she’d much rather forget the entirety of it.

How does your character (negatively or positively) adapt to life experience? Quite well. She’s had it rough, so she’s used to tough situations but rarely allows herself to be in any compromising situations. Like a Taurus, she has an intense internal drive and sometimes has trouble respecting authority and isn’t always flexible to different situations. She kind of, does what she wants and is hella stubborn about it.

What facts would your characters conceal? Anything to do with her past. She never speaks about it to anyone, aside from the offhand comment about her parents or childhood.. or how she was dealt a crappy hand. But, speaking about different situations in her past is a no go. Cam would prefer to look forward. Also, she’d rather not allow people to know how soft she is inside, how much she feels in terms of emotions.. it’s almost like the exterior is a defence mechanism.

THE VENUS ( PISCES ): Your attractions, and your love life…

What kind of hobbies does your character have and why do they enjoy them? Reading books sometimes, if she gets the time. Going out with friends, watching a movie on netflix and practicing self care.. she doesn’t really have a lot of ‘hobbies’ per say, but.. she does head to dance glass and enjoys yoga and boxing. She used to be quite the dancer in high school, but it’s fizzled over time and with a little something called fate and destiny getting in the way.

What does your character find attractive, either in people or in their own possessions? Honest people. Genuine people. People who have charm of some sort. And. she certainly likes a little banter. She’s not one for any materialistic possessions, but she does appreciate what she’s worked for and likes to splurge sometimes.

How does your character (negatively or positively) show their love or demonstrate their affection? She can come across as quite cold to some, but shows her love in the way she’s there for those around her at the drop of a hat. Cam is also very generous, and would do and give anything to help her brothers or her friends.. even a kind stranger. She has a soft spot for the kinder townsfolk.

How does your character fall in love? Do they jump into relationships, or take slow, measured steps? Describe their behaviors and actions, if you’d like. SLOW MEASURED STEPS, if anything! She never jumps into relationships, and truthfully, hasn’t had a long term relationship since her younger days. She dates sometimes (by dating, we mean one or two), she has one night stands, but nothing eventuates into more than that. She’s very hesitant about all things commitment, considering her parents marriage represents everything she feels about relationships. She’d much rather jump into bed and hop on out.

THE MARS ( LEO ): Your strifes, temperament, and passions…

What does your character want with every fiber of their being? To continue to grow her business, and never stop being happy with her career. To be loved. She’ll never admit it, and won’t even allow herself to get in a commitment situation.

What will your characters do to get what they want? How far will they go? To get what she wants on a day to day basis? She’ll practically do anything. However, she won’t ever screw another person unless they screw her.. and even then, she usually has it on her good conscience not to do so.

What makes your character see red? What makes their blood boil? When her friends or family are hurt by another person, or when people are rude and inconsiderate, she’ll see red. People who are bigoted. 

On a symbolic level, what battles has your character lost and what wounds have they suffered? All wounds and suffering pertain to her parents and her childhood, the lack of choices she was given. She hasn’t really allowed herself to be in any situation, as an adult, that risks suffering.. Cam feels she’s had enough of that for a lifetime. She keeps her circle small and close.

s u m m a r y: You are a dancer who gets the chance to perform in front of the royal family, and accidentally stumble into the lives of five very powerful men. Who will you choose to lead you though your time in the palace?

Author’s note: historical setting close to the Joseon dynasty but there’s no (current) set name for the kingdom; this is only the prologue!! each boy has their own storyline!! this one is written by the whole admin team!

It was the peak of summer when you stepped foot in the palace for the first time to hopefully start your provisional contract as a court dancer. You’d been dancing for years, from small scale dinner hubs to the main town square where you had been scouted by a palace attendant, and have seen many discerning eyes among your spectators, yet the gazes of the royal family and attendants have never felt so cold to you. It was no wonder you were more nervous than usual, sweating up a storm in your most upkeep dancing laces.

You felt the heat and excitement swirling around in your bloodstream, creating a concoction that caused the blood in your veins to buzz as sweat rolled down your lace-draped back. As you waited for your turn, you were reassured by one of the palace’s main attendants, Minhee, that everything was going to be alright, that the royal family wasn’t nearly as scary as the rumors. 

And Minhee was right because as soon as the dancer before you finished his routine, everyone roared with applause. One of the princes even stood up, beaming at the guy as he exited the stage area. 

You had to admit he was marvelous. Kim Wooseok was a renowned performer, even in your tight-knit circle of dancers. His techniques were unmatched across the lands, backed up by unrivaled talent and years of training. 

There was something about him that seemed to draw your eye along his body, from the tips of his fingers down through the balls of his feet. He had a sort of presence on the stage no one could deny, not that they wanted to in the least. It didn’t help that he was extremely handsome and possessed a beautiful dance figure; a slim face and a lithe body with lean muscle peeking through his laces, betraying a hidden power within his small frame. 

Wooseok fixed his dance laces over his shoulders and let his hair fall below his cat-like eyes. As he bowed to the royal family, you thought of all the years you spent looking up to him, hoping to one day be at his level.

You didn’t see a hint of sweat as he glided past, but for a second you thought you saw a flash of annoyance etched in his beautiful features. Before you could read into it, Minhee wished you a quick “good luck!” before guiding (read: pushing) you towards the stage.

It was your turn now. 

The light was a little too bright and you couldn’t help but cover your eyes as you stepped on the podium, and despite performing for years prior, you could feel your heartbeat thump in your ears and hear your breathing reverberate against the still buzzing air.

From where you were standing, the royal family was in full view atop the viewing deck of the outdoor theater.

The King and Queen sat high on their thrones, looking down at their subjects without malice in their gazes, a sort of warmth that wasn’t quite loving, but not apathetic either, tinting their features. It was a form of caring one can only possess in the presence of those they are sworn to protect. Next to the King sat Crown Prince Seungwoo, heir to the throne and rumored to be as gentle as his mother, the Queen, but also as cold as his father, the King. It really depended on who you heard it from.

His features were soft and kind, with the only sharpness being hidden in his eyes and the point of his nose as he stared you down on the stage. His aloof expression alone made him appear almost disinterested in the entire ordeal, which set you at ease in a way. It was like he couldn’t care less if you did well or didn’t perform at all.

Beside the Queen sat Prince Seungyoun, more commonly known as Prince Youn, the second oldest prince and grand diplomat of the kingdom. There was a sweet grin spread across his face, the affection and excitement clear in his features as you readied yourself for the performance. His eyes crinkled up at the corners and you briefly wondered how it was possible to see the twinkles from his eyes all the way from where you were standing, but decided it was better not to question such things. His features were almost the opposite of his brothers, with sharp edges all around and gentle, saccharine eyes. 

Behind the princes were two gentlemen whose names you couldn’t quite recall. They were very well-dressed, not unlike the royal family, and they seemed to carry a certain aura that you couldn’t place. Not quite royal, but above others in some way regarding status. Their faces were obscured by the shadows they hid in so you paid them little mind. You concluded that they were probably relatives to the family, but royalty or not they have their gaze fixed on you like the rest.

As you started dancing, you didn’t know why but you felt your nerves begin to slip away as you moved through the familiar routine. But the longer you danced, the higher your movements transcended, the more you felt as if someone was watching you.

Of course, everyone was watching you. You usually thrived off the awe and attention because it’s what made you want to become a dancer in the first place.

But you could feel one specific energy focusing on you, seemingly anticipating your every movement. You glanced at the princes, the Queen, the King, the dancers waiting in line to perform, yet you couldn’t quite locate where it came from.

It wasn’t a terrible feeling, but it was also not a friendly one. It settled heavily, like an anchor weighing in your gut. Even as you finish your routine and bowed to the royal family, the strange feeling never left you, sitting dormant just under your skin.

At the end of your routine, you chanced one last glance at the royals and felt a chill run up your spine at the sight.

Prince Seungwoo had shifted forward in his seat, forearms resting on his knees as his expression changed to match one of intrigue. He let out a silent chuckle and smirked before leaning back in his throne, seemingly disinterested in you once again. It seemed you had caught the attention of the younger prince as well, as his grin widened to encompass his entire face. He seemed more than pleased with the performance you had put on, scrunching up his nose as you looked at him. 

The dancers after you were all excellent, each one with a unique routine and skillset, so it was almost a pity when the show ended and it was announced that only two dancers would be picked.

It won’t be me was all you could think until the announcement came nearly an hour later, with your mind flashing back to the two princes and their reactions. Even if the princes had seemed interested in your performance, the other dancers were far more skilled than yourself and would make better pairs at the palace anyway. 

Wooseok was the first name to be called. Of course, no one was surprised. He stood up with a blank expression and accepted the contract scroll from attendant Minhee with a small bow towards the royal family. 

It wasn’t until your name was called that a few of the contestants stood up to be able to see your face. You froze, not quite believing you had been picked until you felt another dancer nudge you towards the stage once more. You stumbled forward, stunned, but regained enough composure to gracefully walk towards Minhee. He beamed as he handed you the remaining scroll, wishing you good luck once again and telling you how much he enjoyed your performance.

Mindlessly, you bowed and stood next to Wooseok as an attendant ushered out the rest of the dancers. Wooseok’s blank expression melted and for the second time, he scowled, but like the first, it went away in a second.

“Congratulations,” Wooseok spoke for the first time with his original blank expression, but not without sincerity. 

“Thank you,” you smiled.

“Seems like you’re here by your own free will,” he added quietly. 

Your smile faded, confusion colored your face.

“What do you mean ‘my own free will?'” you asked.

He scoffed and didn’t say anything else, so you knew better not to pry especially while waiting for your audience with the Queen.

The amiable woman looked barely a year over fifty as she eyed you and Wooseok warmly. She had a small round face, with delicate features and bright, lovely eyes.  You could see where the younger prince got his looks from as she smiled. She spoke lightly as if her words glided on water, her laughter a hearty, elegant melody that resonated within the chamber. 

“I do apologize for the sudden notice, but there were two goals to fulfill in this competition. One was to find a new court dancer, and the other to find my boys a suitable dance instructor.” 

Wooseok stiffened, and soon both his gaze and the Queen’s were fixed on you as she chose you to become the princes’ dance instructor

“M-me?!” 

“Yes, my dear. Your grace and passion on that stage along with your headstrong and witty mind, so I was told, made you the most suitable candidate. The only task left is for you to choose who to instruct first.”

You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. Instructor? Most of your skills were self-taught from watching many exceptional dancers like Wooseok, so how could you instruct anyone when you had no experience teaching? 

And choose who? I don’t know anyone here! 

As if on cue, the two princes and the two gentlemen from earlier entered the queen’s chambers, talking and laughing amongst themselves

“Hey, Mom!” Prince Seungyoun boomed in his usual cheerful voice.

Prince Seungwoo sighed and smiled sweetly, “Youn, please behave in front of our guests.”

“That’s just how he is, hyung,” one of the two men you didn’t know spoke up in defense of prince Seungyoun, his voice a lot deeper than the other two even though he had a youthful air to him.

The last man looked on in silence, observing you and Wooseok with curious, friendly eyes. He seemed about the same age as the other man you didn’t recognize and, seeing them side by side, you noticed their frames were both similarly built, their shoulders slightly wider than the princes. 

“Quiet down, my boys,” the Queen spoke. As gentle as she sounded, the entire room stilled in an instant. “As you have heard, Wooseok will be your new court dancer in the prince quarter, and the talented dancer beside him will be your dance instructor, assuming they choose you.” The Queen paused and extended her warm gaze to you, “one of these boys will become your student, I trust that you choose well.” 

“Your Majesty,” the man who had stayed silence finally spoke. “Why would we need a dance instructor? What good would that do for us at our age?”

My thoughts exactly!

The Queen gently approached and touched the man’s cheek as she spoke, “Yohan, my dear boy, even though you are skilled in martial arts, dancing is about discipline and self-control. Soon you’ll learn that there are a certain set of skills that both a good dancer and a good ruler possess.” 

At that, Yohan seemed convinced and asked no further questions, nodding and following along with the Queen’s rather ambiguous explanation.

“I’m not sure I understand,” the unnamed man who’d spoken earlier asked. “Why would I need lessons? I’m not a prince.”

At this, a strange and sad look crossed the Queen’s features but vanished just as quickly as it had appeared. She opened her mouth to respond, but was cut off by the youngest prince. 

“Hangyul, I’m sure mother has her reasons,” Prince Seungyoun spoke, seemingly stroking at his non-existent beard.

Prince Seungwoo shot his younger sibling an icy glare at his interruption, making prince Seungyoun throw his hands up in surrender. The Queen smiled at her sons, then looked at you as if the only thing left is for you to choose.

“Of course,” she spoke again, spotting the hesitant look in your eyes,” if you are still unsure of your skills, you can choose to study under Wooseok for some times before starting your official position.”

You looked around, scanning to see who would be the safest option. The last thing you wanted was to offend any royalty with your zero to none teaching experience. 

Wooseok would be the safest option, he was another dancer like you and studying under him would be an honor. However, this would be admitting that your skills were lacking, and he didn’t look too excited to have anyone as a pupil.

Then there was Yohan, who looked pretty open to the idea of having a dance instructor. To be quite honest, he would be easiest to teach since he seemed to have experience in martial arts. You had a feeling he would catch on pretty quickly to anything you’d showed him.

The gentleman named Hangyul looked at you with narrowed eyes. He seemed like the most scary, but also the most calm among all the boys. Maybe you were mistaken, but you thought you had seen his smile distinctly among others earlier during your performance. 

Prince Seungwoo was also an option. He was known for being gentle and looked like someone who would never mistreat his servants. But the idea of teaching the future king was… a little scary, even for you. Plus his ice cold demeanor hadn’t vanished for a second in your presence, so who’s to say you’d ever see the warmer side of him?

The final option would be Prince Seungyoun–known to be the most outgoing prince among the lands, a social butterfly, the friendliest royal you will ever meet. Though there was a personal reason why you were the least bit wary of the second prince.

The Queen seemed to notice your dilemma and offered to give you more time in the princes’ quarters, which you gladly accepted. After all, this was a lengthy contract and you couldn’t be expected to make such a decision without much thought.

Thank god Minhee was still there with you because once the Queen was gone, the room suddenly became quiet and all eyes were on you 

Prince Seungyoun was the first to break the silence as he smiled and extended his hand to you. His chocolate brown eyes radiated with warmth the moment he looked at you.

“Don’t be afraid, we don’t bite.” His voice was softer and quieter than when he had spoken earlier with the princes. “Mother has been trying to get us to relax and pick up a hobby for a while now. I just never thought she’d pick dancing.”

“Wait, Yohan, don’t you already have a hobby?” Hangyul spoke, his voice a deep sound that resonated in his throat. He had on an easy, casual half-smile at Yohan, showcasing a pair of cute bunny-like teeth. He might sound scary, but he seemed to be a big teddy bear in the end. 

“Yeah, we both do, don’t we?”

“Swinging a sword around every day is not a hobby.”

You were surprised to hear Wooseok speaking up–was that even allowed? Weren’t there courtesy customs and honorifics for these people who seemed like royalty?

“Yes it is!” Yohan interjected, a goofy grin pasted on his youthful face as he put both hands on his hips. His eyes crinkled up at the edges, and you noticed him sporting the same bunny teeth as Hangyul before. You found it adorable that both the intimidating young men had such cute smiles. 

“Don’t be jealous, hyung,” Hangyul reached over and clapped Wooseok on the shoulder. “We’ll teach you one day.”

Confused by this sudden exchange, you looked towards Minhee for help and was grateful he was already leaning over.

“They all know each other,” he whispered. “They’re good friends. It’s fine.”

That didn’t make you feel any better. Now you realized you were more of an outcast than before when you still thought Wooseok was simply a performer and nothing more. 

Prince Seungwoo noticed your discomfort and walked towards you, extending his hand in the same manner as Prince Seungyoun and offering you a sweet smile, his icy stare softening slightly. 

“Pardon the boys, we haven’t had any newcomers to the palace for a while.” The prince’s smile was almost too sweet and barely reached his eyes as he spoke. “No matter who you choose today, you’ll be okay. I promise we won’t trouble you.”

“Speak for yourself, hyung!” Hangyul said, a small laugh escaping him. Prince Seungyoun joined with his genuine, hearty laughter that was so refreshing to hear, dissipating the stress you’d faced the moment you entered the palace and placing a small smile on your face. It was impossible not to smile when those two laughed. 

You looked over at Wooseok, who didn’t even bother to hide his annoyance, sighing as he started folding his laces and putting them into his sling bag.

“Are you going to choose today or do we have to keep standing here?”

Wooseok’s words to you were blunt and to-the-point. You can kind of see why your peers thought of him as cold and unapproachable, but his voice was soft and his words didn’t seem cold to you.

All eyes were on you once again. You felt like you were ready to make the decision. Taking a deep breath, you decided this person was the only option for you.

“I choose–”

and ofc i don’t mind you asking bb i hope You don’t mind that i’m about to go on a jungkook rant😖so i got into bts in my first year of uni in 2016 just as bst came out. i still maintain that that was their best ever comeback. but anyway within the first few seconds jimin was the one that made me😦bc he just looks so! otherworldly handsome in that video they all do but jimin particularly! i think that’s why he’s so special to me out of the boys he’s always gonna be That guy for me uno. also we have the same birthday so can i say Soulmate!!!!!

but anyway my jimin bias lasted for exactly 0.2 seconds bc then jungkook moved to centre in the choreo and oh. my god. my body had a physical reaction fshsghs like chills and everything! his stage presence, visuals, voice, bst rlly brought out the best in him. there was also this particular frame i have screenshotted which is the EXACT moment i knew i wouldn’t be able to get over this guy for the rest of my life rip

like how beautiful is his makeup and styling and stage presence here it’s working perfectly together like a well oiled machine FUCK. this is what i mean about bst being the pinnacle of their career don’t @ me. but ANYWAY this was the move that made me go okay. dunno who this guy is but he owns my ass now so there’s that lol. to this day bst jungkook is still my ultimate weakness, i blush just thinking about him PLS !

but the way jungkook climbed to love of my life status wasn’t rlly from his looks, vocals etc tbh. i wasn’t new to kpop at this point and what rlly struck me about him was how goofy and Himself he was in every show, he’s a silly boy and he acts like one and doesn’t give a shit and i LOVE that, i’m enamoured by that vulnerability and sincerity. i mean if i was a celeb i don’t think i’d be able to show my real self on camera as much as he does tbh, but even if he is putting up a persona which is totally understandable, jungkook’s ability to come across as genuine and Real in a sea of male idols that are constantly trying to be “cool” and “manly” is unmatched imo. he never hesitates to look like an idiot in front of cameras just to make others laugh and i adore that. that boyish quality about him just so endearing, i think because he remains polite and humble throughout it which also another massive seller for me. it’s probably bc he’s the youngest to have been around cameras so he literally grew up in front of the camera if that makes sense? but yeah those things also enhance his already good looks for me so my heart still often flatlines when i see a particular low quality, no makeup, acne scarred, chubby and tanned pic of him😖that’s my favourite jungkook fyi! don’t get me wrong i love made up suited up stage jungkook - but no makeup jungkook? with a few pimples and 10kg heavier with a tummy and tanned ASIAN skin that isn’t made to look 5 shades too white? big nose big teeth eye crinkles smiling jungkook? he is My Love. nothing more i can say.

i think another big factor in him becoming my bias is that in a weird way, me and jungkook have a lot of similarities that i wouldn’t expect to share with a boy like him? we’re both perfectionists, both really introverted and enjoy time to ourselves, both love to sing, to draw, to create in general. we’re both pretty shy and we also have a habit of starting stuff and never finishing it bc we’re passionate about so many things at once. he’s also the baby of the group and i’m the baby of every group too lol. we’re also rlly laid back in some instances like maybe even Too laid back at times (ie spacing out a lot and Not Speaking) but then when it comes to something we care about we give it 110% until it kills us. i rlly empathise with that quality in him and i understand that constant need to better oneself even with a trophy sitting in my hand. don’t get me wrong we’re also polar opposites in other ways like i HATE sports and i’m not patient enough for photography, can’t dance for shit etc etc lol but i think our fundamental ethos lines up nicely. plus, he’s a 97 baby and i’m a 96 baby, and i always think “wow if we went to the same school we’d be in the same year!” bc my school was split up like that lol. he’d be one those boys that i’d probably bully from ages 12-15 but then he got hot in our final year and suddenly i avoid him like the plague☠️

so yeah i guess jungkook being my bias isn’t so much to do with his idol abilities but more who he is as a person. i empathise with him a lot and at the same time get a lot of comfort knowing that someone like him - who i share these traits with - succeeded. i enjoy seeing him do well but ngl i have a competitive streak so watch out babe!

HOWEVER i should mention that although jungkook will always be My Guy and #1 in my lovesick heart, i technically am triple biased for jungkook, yoongi and jimin. if those 3 ever had a kid it’d be me but i guess that will take another ask to explain! thank you for this question tho b it put me in a rlly good mood💖xoxo
