Idk why but lately I've been thinking a lot about a reader who is some flavor of trans/didn't vibe with their assigned gender at birth. Maybe in a scenario where they were kinda neglected with the X-men they were worried being different like that would only make them more isolated/get reader in trouble. So in a scenario like in fallen snow au where they are separated from the yans for an extended period of time and find themselves free and living on their own, reader just goes all out with dressing and presenting themselves in a way that they feel like they couldn't before. Like, they look completely different from when they left/ran away from the mansion.

When the yans do find reader? Reader has gone all out, they realized theyre transfem? Reader is wearing all the girly clothes she always wanted to but was too scared to try. Reader realized theyre transmasc? He's cut his hair, has a binder and models his look after like- Ryan Reynolds or something. Reader realized theyre nonbinary? They be rocking the most slaying fit that reassures them of their androgenous identity.

Idk just- the x-men finally finding reader after a long time only to realize just how little they all really knew reader. The yans realizing just how badly they messed up bc only when reader was alone and away from the mansion did reader feel confident/comfortable enough to come out. Heck, maybe reader DID try to come out but the yans were just that neglectful.

The real question is if the yans overcorrect themselves and slather trans!reader with affection or just act like reader always presented as their preferred gender and the yans try to pretend they didnt mess up as badly as they did.

I was thinking about this as well-

If Creed Reader (or any Reader) was trans (transfem/transmasc/transenby), they'd feel like they could breath, could just be, foe the first time they're alone amd on their own. They have no one to please, no reason to pretend, nothing to hide or standards to reach or anything holding them back. So they get creative. Go all out.

They're transfem? Good bye nether region, hello lipstick and sleek dresses and skirts and appearing more feminine! They adore feeling this way, and enjoy becoming more of themself each day!

They're transmasc? Good bye chest, and welcome extra hair everywhere and wearing only shorts and trying different suits on and appearing more masculine! They appreciate the warmth they feel, and accept their new changes with open arms!

They're transenby? Well, they're doing whatever they want! Don't want a chest? It's gone! Don't like their lower regions? They're changing them! They want to wear tank tops and shorts and not be too curvy or muscular? Ha! It's no problem! They like being them, not necessarily a male or female, just them, scars and flesh and soul and all!

The platonic yans, upon seeing Reader for the first time in awhile, are shocked.

you were the light of his life. he always told you that you were the only thing that made his life worth living. if anything ever happened to you, you knew it would drive him insane and make him do something drastic. whenever he came home from a rough day at work, his entire disposition would light up when he saw you running to the door and jumping into his arms. you were perfect for each other.

he had an event coming up with a few of his coworkers. just a little get-together at a restaurant. honestly, jack had never been too keen on these particular colleagues. they were stuck up and always tried to get into his pants. you stared out the window as he drove into the night, keeping a hand on your thigh the whole time.

jack pulled into an empty parking space and parked the car, walking out and offering you his hand. you accepted it with a big smile on your face. he walked you into the restaurant, the cool breeze brushing over you as you walked in. as soon as jack stepped foot into the building, two young women started calling out to him, waving with a little more enthusiasm than necessary.

you and jack made your way to the table sitting down with them. one was a blue-eyed blondie with the body of a model, and the other had jet black hair and piercing blue eyes that could cut diamonds. a wave of insecurity washed over you for a moment as you saw the girls that jack faced every day. you saw the way that they were looking at him, and you couldn’t help but wonder if there was something going on behind the scenes.

you were a little stunned. you’d had people judge your relationship before, but no one had ever said something like that to you before. it always seemed as if you were perfect for eachother, but that was beginning to seem very one-sided. jack returned from the washroom, noticing that your mood had changed a little.

he looked at the girls, innocent expressions on their faces, and he immediately knew what had happened. the rest of the night went on. you sat there in uncomfortable silence as you watched them shamelessly flirting with your boyfriend, acting like you weren’t even there. it stung badly, but there was nothing you could do.

eventually, jack’s heart started to ache. it was extremely rare to see you like this, so he desperately wanted to help you. he stood up from the table and took you by the hand, leading you out of the restaurant. you and him walked back to the car, you letting yourself in before he could open the door for you.

he got in as well, staring right at you. he cleared his throat, as if trying to find the right words to use. “you ok, doll..?” his voice cracked a little. he wasn’t good in these types of situations. you nodded your head and told him to start driving, your voice a little more bitter than usual. jack didn’t want to risk you snapping at him, so he started the engine and started making the way back to your apartment.

it was a silent drive. your head was down the whole time. you weren't in the mood for talking, which he understood, but the drive felt like torture for him. he let out a quiet sigh of relief as you finally arrived at your destination. you quickly exited the car and walked inside as jack trailed behind you. once you got to your room, you tried going into you and jack’s bedroom, but he stopped you, pinning you to the wall.

he had a solemn expression on his face as his eyes stared into your soul. you didn’t know what it was about that look, but something about it completely broke you. before you could do anything, tears welled up in your eyes and started streaming down your face. in a matter of seconds, you were sobbing as he gently cradled you in his arms.

he carried you over to your bed, making you sit on his lap as he held your head to his chest. the sound of his heartbeat calmed you down a little, but not enough to stop the tears from flowing from your eyes. he lifted up your chin so you were looking at him. you didn’t need to say a single word for him to understand all the pain you were feeling right then.

he pulled you back into him, wiping away your tears as he gave you a soft kiss on the forehead. he stroked your back, making your breathing steady a little more. once you had fully calmed down, you looked up at him, your eyes still a little watery. he smiled as he looked at your beautiful little face. you were so precious to him, he couldn’t ever imagine letting you go.

I know a handful of butches who have gone femme and a few femmes who have gone butch, and I say mazel tov. I also know quite a few butches who, in the privacy of their own homes, like frilly teddies and makeup (butches in drag, or transvestite femmes?). And many, many femmes who are carpenters and softball players and who like butches on their backs in bed.

I also need to say that it is not only butches who attract me. All kinds of women attract me, and for that matter, femme women who have a particular attraction for me, because they validate me by being role models who teach me that femininity is not weakness.

We have limited our options by desexualizing our community. The rhetoric says that we develop our politics from our personal experiences, except, of course, when our personal experience is too sexy. In our effort to examine the sexual exploitation of women, we have denied our lesbian heritage, as well as our current options.

Discerning what is femme and what is butch is very difficult, since most of us who use these terms use them to define who we feel we are, and do not mold our behavior to fit existing stereotypic roles. I call myself femme because it describes who I feel I am, once I figured out it wasn't a bad word. It does not mean that I love to cook, or that I never wear pants, or that I can't paint a house or seduce a woman. It does mean that I love in the feel of my femininity, that I experience my essential self, sexually and socially, ad female.

I love to dress up pretty for my lover. I love the feel of lace on my body against the feel of strong woman hands. I love to curl up in my lover's arms. I love our oppositeness- her starched white shirts against my silky ones, her sneakers and loafers in the closet next to my girly shoes, her short, neatly trimmed nails against my longer polished nails. As the shoot continues, Mina changes into countless outfits and quickly captures their design, moving actively or standing still with a mature mood. “Paris is known for its classic cityscape, but the people living there are also wonderful. There’s a calm atmosphere, and I admire the way people spend time at cafes, use chic fashion in their own ways, and dress up at night to enjoy the nightlife. When I first visited Paris, I was looking forward to sightseeing. I was able to go see the outside of the Louvre, but there wasn’t time to go inside, so I was looking forward to going there the next time. If I had an opportunity to stay longer, there are so many other plans I would want to do, like getting up in the morning and going to a café, going to the market if the weather was nice – spending time here as though I lived here,” she says with a sparkle in her eye.

In order to embody Mina’s dream plan, the shoot this time is themed as if Mina was studying abroad in Paris for a short time during the summer season. She wears Fendi’s summer collection in a bourgeois-chic apartment to express the feeling of spending time freely in the summer.

“The Fendi summer collection that I wore for the shoot this time has a fresh style of Western clothing and swimwear. When you think of swimwear, you often get the image that it’s only worn at places like the beach or the pool. But if you wear a jacket and skirt or denim pants over it, you can wear it around town, and it’s very new and cool. My personal favorite is the combination of a short jacket and striped skirt with swimwear.”

Mina travels around the world as a member of TWICE. In 2023, the group embarked on their fifth world tour, becoming the first girl group to perform at stadiums in Japan, and set records for days in a row, including setting the record for the first girl group to hold a sold-out performance at LA’s SoFi Stadium. The group’s tour is ongoing, and they are currently scheduled to hold a performance at Nissan Stadium, where they will be the first overseas female artists to perform. Mina is enthusiastic, saying, “It will be a challenge for us.”

Furthermore, last year, she began unit activities with MISAMO. “The three of us - Sana-chan, Momo-chan, and I – have been working as hard as we can to support each other. This year, we hope to go on tour for the album we released as MISAMO.”

Leo is dramatically performing 'Could Have Been Me' by The Struts.

He's dancing with a mic stand as well. Lots of hip swaying, and tail wagging.

He's also showing off a the newer version of his model. Taller, broader, a bit more muscular, more markings on his limbs, and a bit more mature looking. While dressed in Jean shorts, knee high boots, his mask with long tails, and a simple blue tank top.

Donnie is singing in a lower octave than usual. His models build is also Taller, Broader, swimmers build. He keeps changing outfits to match the song.

Mikey is only a bit taller, but dressed in a super cropped paint splattered jacket, his mask with some art themed charms on the tails, black/orange fingerless gloves, sunset gradient colored pants, and boots.

He's currently singing and dancing to Never Had a Friend Like Me. Throwing in alot of his razzmatazz! A glowing effect on his model helped with the effect.

River wanted to sing a specific song, but was told no, no matter how cute they look, the song wasn't appropriate enough for a cute teal robot turtle to sing. She pouted off to the side while looking through the song list.

Shelldon apparently found some older songs, and was singing Surfing USA by the Beach Boys. It sounded a little funny with Shelldons slight surfer dude accent. And a little off key.

The next few sets were just rap battles between the brothers trying to trip each other up in the middle of a verse. Who won each round just depended on who was against who.

Again what little of the chat visible is a little disappointed not to see them all in the Idol costumes.

Bex is a little weird. You have to be a little weird when you’re raised in a white trash family in the middle of nowhere. Bex is intelligent, but flippant. She generally keeps a cool head, so much so it seems like she doesn’t care. In reality, she’s tired. She’s seen some shit and she is over it.

You sit down next to ted, taking a sip of your coffee

"Hey y/n what are you up too" he hums writing down some stuff from his flim class notes

PSA/HC faceclaims and appearance stuff.

So I know there's some confusion regarding my use of icons and faceclaims so I thought I'd make this small post to clear that up. I only have a handful of icons for Satoru that I got from a free source and most of them have him wearing his blindfold, so emotions just do not convey the same, so I've got other multiple faceclaims for when I need to convey expressions better. Plus it also works with the detail of them being trans enby and having some different physical features in comparison to canon.

So I've got like, 5 of these. Just young Toru, student years, still learning about gender expression and stuff.

Then I use these for slightly older Toru, around 3rd year 18-19 yo. The hair length and the slightly more feminine appearance are the canon to the portrayal. They mostly dress up like a tomboy girl, shirts, short pants, high socks, etc.

These are for young adult Toru. Early twenties to 27yo. Very female presenting, female clothes, make up, long pretty hair, breasts and hips bc hormones treatment. Dresses up very nicely and attractively bc they're a haute couture model for some important brands, so, dresses, tights, high heel boots, long coats, etc.

Then canon icons for 27-28 yo Toru, after Suguru's death. Back to short/male hair, more male presenting, wears exclusively black and mostly gender neutral or male clothes but still does their make up a bit, and ofc the female body characteristics are still there. To this point they don't do brand magazine modeling anymore but mostly important catwalks and make up advertising. This is also a consequence of their mental struggle with their blindness and it getting worse to the point they struggle with basic tasks.

28/post canon and aus. Just Toru with slightly longer hair once they decide to let it grow longer again once coming to terms with Suguru's death, as they initially cut it as a sign of mourning. They go back to wearing colors and female clothing but mostly dress up soberly, like a rich aunt. Megumi helps them out with their make up and clothes as they're legally blind by then. These are also the icons I use for Suguru-is-not-dead aus since that would probably be the appearance they would have.

So those are the main points but also sometimes I'll change faceclaims mid thread bc I don't have the right expression/emotion so, sorry about that ✌️ hope this clears things up

Titanic First

Titanic is a female who is around 10'7, with a slightly darker colour palette from Eclipse

She wears a pair of somewhat burnt, grey shorts with black stars on them and a plain black tank top, although they sometimes change that out to a pair of Dark orange and pastel orange classic pants (like what sun and moon wear), a black long sleeve and a light orange shall over that

She swapped out the old model's legs due to rusting and internal damage that couldn't be fixed, so she swapped them with a pair of dino-like legs to help with running (she denies it but she has beans)

The bunker she and Perseus activated was redecorated and renamed 'The Return' and is a safe spot for any and all universes

Titanic will throw hands if anyone harms her children. She enjoys baking, cooking, sewing, and walking around the forest the bunker is in.

Titanic has two voice boxes, one of the original Eclipse and a female one (think sweet middle-aged southern mom)

Female Malkavian Outfit Replacer (VTMB) - WIP 13 Jan 2023

The bad news first: this is taking longer than I had hoped.

I'm being slowed down by things at home. Short version - energy crisis means they're rationing electricity, so we're without power for hours every day. Some of that time I would have spent working.

The other thing is that this just... takes longer than I think it will. I break the work into smaller parts, and each part takes hours longer than I estimate it will.

The good news is that I'm done fitting the next outfit and she looks amazing. I still have to weight paint it and do more work on the texture, but that should take a lot less time.

This is the male Malk's second outfit.

Scaled it down, then had to narrow the legs and torso even further, but widen the hips and pull it out a lot over her jugs. Pants legs ended up too short, so I stretched those out vertically. The gloves I had to scale down even further. So, overall, her proportions are way different from her male counterpart. I'm planning to use female models for the remaining two outfits, so hopefully fitting those goes faster.

...I dropped the mask and visor, though. Visor is w/e, but I took one look at the mask and thought "nope". It would sit on her bewbs, and that would cause issues with the weight painting. Also probably clip into her chin when she crouches. This did lead to the problem that the mask's strap is painted onto the shirt. I could have tried to clone it out, but decided to replace the entire shirt. I took the shirt texture from the Chinatown male citizen model. This guy.

Also took the completely extra and unnecessary step of changing the shirt's colour to the same pale blue from the fem Malk's first outfit. Speaking of textures - I edited this one. A lot. I started with this:

I'm honestly sursprised at how well this worked.

So, like I said, I still have to weight paint it and do more work on the texture. I have no idea how long that will take. I expect problems in some places (looking at you, shoulder sockets), but if I don't get stuck on anything I can finish the weighting in a week or less (jinx!). Texture should be two/three days, tops. I'll finish this, then go make some updates to the first outfit. I'll post another WIP when that's done.

“I’ve wanted to try doing a fashion shoot for a magazine overseas. And the setting is Paris, which I love! The city’s buildings and the townscape are so beautiful, so it would make for a wonderful shoot, so I’ve been really looking forward to it.” When looking at a photo of herself dissolving into the Parisian scenery, a happy expression comes over her face. As the shoot continues, Mina changes into countless outfits and quickly captures their design, moving actively or standing still with a mature mood. “Paris is known for its classic cityscape, but the people living there are also wonderful. There’s a calm atmosphere, and I admire the way people spend time at cafes, use chic fashion in their own ways, and dress up at night to enjoy the nightlife. When I first visited Paris, I was looking forward to sightseeing. I was able to go see the outside of the Louvre, but there wasn’t time to go inside, so I was looking forward to going there the next time. If I had an opportunity to stay longer, there are so many other plans I would want to do, like getting up in the morning and going to a café, going to the market if the weather was nice – spending time here as though I lived here,” she says with a sparkle in her eye.

In order to embody Mina’s dream plan, the shoot this time is themed as if Mina was studying abroad in Paris for a short time during the summer season. She wears Fendi’s summer collection in a bourgeois-chic apartment to express the feeling of spending time freely in the summer.

“The Fendi summer collection that I wore for the shoot this time has a fresh style of Western clothing and swimwear. When you think of swimwear, you often get the image that it’s only worn at places like the beach or the pool. But if you wear a jacket and skirt or denim pants over it, you can wear it around town, and it’s very new and cool. My personal favorite is the combination of a short jacket and striped skirt with swimwear.”

Mina travels around the world as a member of TWICE. In 2023, the group embarked on their fifth world tour, becoming the first girl group to perform at stadiums in Japan, and set records for days in a row, including setting the record for the first girl group to hold a sold-out performance at LA’s SoFi Stadium. The group’s tour is ongoing, and they are currently scheduled to hold a performance at Nissan Stadium, where they will be the first overseas female artists to perform. Mina is enthusiastic, saying, “It will be a challenge for us.”

Furthermore, last year, she began unit activities with MISAMO. “The three of us - Sana-chan, Momo-chan, and I – have been working as hard as we can to support each other. This year, we hope to go on tour for the album we released as MISAMO.”

Mina shows off her beautiful new faces one after another, both as a member of the world-famous girl group that captivates audiences with their amazing live performances, and as a model participating in fashion shoots as a brand muse. In January of this year, she attended Fendi’s couture collection as a guest, and made her show debut. She expressed that she was nervous about going to the show alone, but said, “Personally, I love Fendi, so I was even more excited for that. I bought my first knitwear a few years ago, and thought it was really cool and comfortable. After that, I bought a bag, and now I use it regularly. Personally, I like the “Peekaboo” collection. As mentioned, this was Mina’s first time coming to Paris alone for a fashion shoot since her debut. She gave the impression of a female image that was simultaneously cute, intellectual, and elegant. What kind of expression will she show in her next fashion shoot? We can’t take our eyes off Mina as she continues to put forth effort and gain experience to update her form.

Prefacing this ofc with the fact that I LOVE og Ashley, she’s a great character whom I adore, and my hatred for her remake version comes from all the things they removed from og Ashley to make her so bland and digestible.

You mentioned the eyes, which you’ve seen me complain about endless times, but while the eye color change from brown to blue does suck, it’s part of a larger issue I have with remake Ashley: she’s too pretty. Capcom apparently got it in their heads that female characters MUST be wearing makeup at ALL TIMES, so Ashley, throughout the ENTIRE game, has glossy pink lips, a highlight-like shine on her nose and cheeks, and shimmering brown eyelids. This isn’t Ashley exclusive, Ada and Hunnigan are wearing makeup at all times too, as are Claire and Jill in the 2 and 3 remakes (women b wearing lip gloss ig) but it pisses me off because Ashley was bare faced in the original. Her lips were almost the same color as her skin, she had no makeup on, AND THAT’S PERFECTLY FUCKING FINE, BECAUSE SHE WAS KIDNAPPED TO ANOTHER CONTINENT.

Ashley’s also too pretty because she’s an Instagram model, and that’s not an exaggeration. The face model for Ashley was a literal Instagram model named Ella Freya. I don’t know her, she’s a perfectly fine and attractive woman, but again I must state how plain Ashley looked in the original. She had a soft round face, a cute nose, normal eyebrows, charming big ears, she looked plain and she looked normal. Ella Freya, though, is an Instagram model in the year 2023, so remake Ashley now has a slimmer face, slimmer nose, perfect eyebrows, blue eyes that I hate, and, to my absolute dismay, her hair now permanently covers her ears at all times (unless you give her the casual outfit which was a cosmetic only available for preordered versions of the game but I’ll stop there before I go on a completely different rant).

Still continuing the “too pretty” rant, she’s wearing THE stupidest blazer and scarf I could POSSIBLY think to put a 20 year old in the year 2004 in. Her og outfit was perfectly fine and charming and fit the time period, and her beta outfit was even better, because it was cute yet functional, an orange coat, gray scarf, gray gloves and black pants. The remake though, kept her original silly cute outfit but added sheer tights (which is dumb, just give her pants) and a blazer that no one under the age of 30 and isn’t a senator would ever wear. The blazer also has a stupid eagle pin on it because duh Ashley’s “Baby Eagle” that’s her code name she’s the daughter of the president that’s all she is!

Which leads me to my next grievance, remake Ashley is THE DEFINITION of a prop character. She could be a bag of money stolen from the White House and NOTHING story-wise or gameplay-wise would change. In the original, saving Ashley felt like a real escort mission. She had her own health bar, she had a personality that was spunky, she was mostly helpless and afraid being out of her element here (WHICH IS FINE) but she still persisted at being brave. She had a short temper at times when it was justified (mostly sexualization jokes or straight up SA at her expense) AND she got to do things like drive the forklift, operate the wrecking ball, save Leon from his Plaga, and playing as her in her sections is fun if you can ignore the panty shots. She feels like a real young woman who’s really on this adventure with you, and you genuinely feel terrible for her as her infection worsens or when she gets kidnapped.

But NOPE apparently og Ashley is tooooo hardddd so there’s no health bar for her this time, she can get captured or hit and still be fine, she doesn’t drive the forklift, she operates a different wrecking ball in a fight scene that feels like it was done that way to pad the 9 hour play time (with a stupid line that I’ll get into) there’s no sexual assault this time (thank GD) so she never gets to be upset or fiery or spunky or able to communicate ANY gd damn emotion that isn’t “happy for Leon” or “uwu so scared and meek and helpless” and it’s OBNOXIOUS. The scene where Luis comments on Ashley’s boobs has been changed (again, thank gd) to him calling her señorita, to which Ashley just says “Señorita has a name, it’s Ashley. You are?” like it’s just a question and there’s NO anger or malice behind her voice when she corrects him.

Before I get into how basically every line remake Ashley said pissed me the fuck off I’m gonna go over her play style, because yeah, you get to briefly play as Ashley in this game. In the original, Ashley gets separated from Leon, and you have to play as her by traversing the halls, solving puzzles and avoiding enemies to get back to Leon. It’s scary because you’re used to having Leon’s ammo and health items at this point, so playing as Ashley, you’re almost completely defenseless. It’s a fun play style. I say “almost” completely defenseless, because there is one thing Ashley can do, and that’s pick up the lanterns around her and chuck them at enemies, setting them on fire and killing them. And that’s BADASS and I was so STOKED to see how they did this in the remake so much so that upon my bf’s first playthrough I made him let me play the Ashley section.

And I was real fucking disappointed because GONE is Ashley’s (and thus the player’s) sense of helplessness. Why? Because Ashley is given a lantern that temporarily freezes the enemies sneaking up on her in place, allowing her to escape. It’s a dark room so the lantern acts as your only light source, which is fine as a gameplay mechanic. But Ashley, our too good sweet unflawed innocent girl this time around, gets to do NO killing and is basically INVINCIBLE for most of her section, because she’s given impenetrable armor in the form of this lantern. At the end of her section she loses the lantern and you do just have to run for it, but that’s a short burst of speed down a hall and then you’re safe. There’s no challenge to Ashley’s section this time.

Okay real quick before I get into how her lines piss me off, I’m gonna talk real quickly about her lack of personality BESIDES her lines that refuse to give her one. So, we learn a SINGLE new thing about Ashley in this game, and that’s that she is in a sorority at college. We only know this because she has a sorority sticker on her cell phone. That’s it, that’s all the new information we get about this character.

There are also plot beat changes that piss me off with their lack of personality given to Ashley. The two main ones I can think of are when Leon first finds her, and when they get separated in the castle. In the og, when found, Ashley throws something at Leon to defend herself before curling up into a ball in the corner. She does this a lot in the game, cowering in fear by making herself smaller, which is an interesting character thing, yes it’s possible for characterization to come from movements. In the remake, Ashley brandishes a candelabra and tells Leon to let her go (mistaking him for a ganado) and he just easily disarms her, and when trying to explain herself she escapes out of the room. It just feels like an attempt to quench to complaints about Ashley being too weak in the first game, which could’ve been fine if she was actually a stronger character in this, but she isn’t.

The second plot beat pisses me off so fucking much. In the original, while walking in the hallway, Ashley starts coughing up blood due to the parasite. Leon asks if she’s okay, and, panicked, runs down the hall away from him, a gate separating them and chasing her down the hall until she’s captured, ending with the two being separated. You have to play as Leon to find your way to the room where she was taken and shoot off her restraints to set her free. Ashley has a cute quip there, and then has to escape the pursuing Ganados, leading to the “playing as Ashley” section. In the REMAKE, Ashley is instead taken control of by Saddler using the Plaga inside her, threatening to slit her own throat with a knife, allowing Saddler to put distance between her and Leon so a gate can separate them. Ashley is then let go of the mind control, she drops the knife, panics, and runs away. The gate is immediately lifted, and you have to play as Leon to find her, where she’s just…sitting in a room and crying. Leon gives her a pep talk about being brave, which somehow works because this is a shell of a character, and you move on.

Apparently people complained about Ashley running off frightened in the original, so in the remake they make it so that it isn’t her fault she and Leon get separated, because GD FORBID a victim act out, act irrationally, or have FLAWS.

Okay now we’re going to get into her lines/dialogue, if you couldn’t tell, I was holding back before. Shocker I know, but I’m really miffed about these.

Ashley's ENTIRE EXISTENCE and EVERY SINGLE LINE in this ENTIRE GAME is dedicated to one of two things: 1) hyping up how cool Leon is, or 2) telling us how scared she is. That's it. No personality. No character. No backstory. No insight into who she is as a person. No mannerisms that tell us anything about her. Ashley might as well have not existed prior to the start of Resident Evil 4 because she has no character AT ALL. This woman is a KIDNAPPING VICTIM who is the ENTIRE FOCUS OF THE GAME and she doesn't get anything about her that makes her unique.

I was expecting AT LEAST ONE LINE FROM ASHLEY about her father, that she was excited to see him again, that she loved him, or the opposite, that they have a complicated relationship, that he's not a great dad because he's the president and busy all the time, SOMETHING. But nope, none of that. We have no idea how ASHLEY feels about the FATHER you're supposed to return her to. A pretty BASIC relationship to establish if you ask me. In the original, and I chalk this up to misogyny in the script writing, because Ashley's the president's daughter, they only mention her father throughout the game. They never say "parents" or "family" they ONLY say father. In the show Infinite Darkness, we see on the president's desk that he has two pictures of Ashley, one of the girl by herself and the other of just the two of them with their dog. No mother in the pictures. I thought that had the potential to be an interesting character thing, maybe Ashley's mom was dead or had gotten a divorce from her father, maybe the remake could have at least a throwaway line about it. NOPE. Ashley's only established emotional relationships in THE WHOLE GAME are Leon, the man rescuing her, Luis, the man helping her, and the cult who kidnapped her (obvious negative feelings for that one).

Ashley was so hated in the og I guess that the writers of the remake built her entire existence on endearing her to the player. See, she doesn't need your health items anymore! See, she doesn't scream "annoyingly" anymore! See, she cries out for you when you get hurt and close to death! See, she's pretty now! See, she doesn't get mad at you for looking up her skirt (yes that's a real mechanic in the og and yes it was removed)! See, she does NOTHING but tell you how cool and awesome you are and how much she believes in you! See, when she gets separated from you it's not HER fault! See, she actually lovesss the American government and military and she's soooo patriotic! See, she wants to be your agent partner rather than having a crush on you! Like OH MY GD IT IS FINE IF NOT EVERY ASPECT OF A CHARACTER'S PERSONALITY IS ENDEARING. IT'S FINE. IT'S FUCKING FINE.

I mean ffs Luis is a flawed but good-hearted character and this stupid fandom fucking LOVES him (mostly because they can ship him with Leon though) so why does Ashley have to be held to this impossible standard.

One of the Ashley lines that pisses me off the most is the line Ashley says when she gets in the wrecking ball i mentioned earlier. Leon asks if she can operate one of those things, and this dumbass compares it to "drivers ed." Drivers. Ed. Are you fucking kidding me. All you did there was make her look like a ditz for equating operating construction equipment to driving a fucking car. In the original, Ashley was able to easily drive a forklift and wrecking ball with no problem, even proudly proclaiming "Leave it to me, Leon!" as she climbs in the forklift, to the point that Ashley being "forklift certified" became somewhat of a joke/meme (at least among my friends) because again it's a character moment. This is just stuff she knows how to do. It's silly but it's endearing, and you chose to replace that with "it's just like drivers ed." Givemeagddamnfuckingbreak.

Another Ashley line that I only came to hate recently comes from the DLC Separate Ways where you play as Ada. Ashley in the base game has a couple lines related to Ada, but all of them are about Leon's relationship to Ada, so once again, her entire focus is Leon. Whatever. In the trailer for Separate Ways, there's a shot of Ashley during the final boss fight looking towards the camera, implying that Ashley was going to interact with Ada, and I was SUPER EXCITED about that because none of the three main women EVER interact in this game (Ashley, Ada and Hunnigan) and I wanted to see what kind of conversation Ada could have with Ashley. Maybe Ada showing a rare bit of sympathy for this poor, fearful kidnapped girl, maybe offering her a ride out of there (though Ashley would just say "not without Leon" which. whatever) or ask about the Plaga or even just say "You okay?" or ANYTHING.

Well imagine my disappointment when that didn't happen. Ada walks up to where Ashley's nervously watching the fight go down, Ashley turns to Ada and says "Leon needs help. Hurry!" and that's IT. Ada doesn't even say anything BACK, she just goes to help Leon. Once a-fucking-gain, Ashley's ONLY there to service Leon, even when talking to someone else.

Ashley's commitment to being patriotic and wanting to be Leon's partner pisses me offfff too. It's not even my anti-American side, it's simply the fact that this game is trying so hard to be patriotic. Which is REALLY fucking weird considering the og was the complete opposite of that, but again that's a separate rant. Again it's another move to endear her to the player, since Leon is a government agent and the people playing this game probably also play Call of Duty so they think the American government and military is cool.

AND. AND AND AND! The creators said they wanted it to be clear that there was nothing romantic between Ashley and Leon. Which is fine! I'm cool with that! I prefer it actually! BUT they removed some elements that I think would have been MORE endearing to see. In the original, Ashley and Leon hug several times, and it's always cute and sweet, feels very older brother little sister with the way Leon pats her on the head, and very genuine when Leon cures Ashley of her Plaga, how she sits up and throws her arms around him as a thank you. Makes me wanna cry. In the remake they hug ONCE and it's brief. After Leon has been cured of his Plaga and wakes up, Ashley cheerily smiles at him and gives him a hug because, as she says, "I thought you were gonna die." and Leon simply pats her ont he back, doesn't even hug her in return. Like what the HELL??? This girl has been through SO MUCH these past few days, and she doesn't even get a gd damn ACTUAL hug???? Why????? There's nothing inherently romantic about that.

The other removed element is from an early concept for the remake that was scrapped, and that was a hand-holding mechanic. basically you could hold Ashley's hand if you wanted her to stay close to you while you were running somewhere. The creators scrapped it because they didn't want Ashley and Leon to seem "too close." Why? Holding hands isn't inherently romantic, and even in Japan that kind of PDA is fine. Leon grabbed Ashley's hand (albeit in scripted cutscenes) in the og and they were never romantic, so why not here?

I am fully aware that the Ashley in my head isn't completely the same as og Ashley. Og Ashley isn't jewish, doesn't canonically dye her hair blonde, doesn't canonically have a dead mom, but it's still all based on stuff in canon that relates to her personality and characterization. Remake Ashley is fucking nothing, there's nothing to springboard off of, and although the fandom pisses me off for their refusal to engage with women, when it comes to remake Ashley there's not exactly anything worth engaging with since her entire existence revolves around you, despite your mission revolving around her (they could still try harder though).

Was watching og 4 gameplay for writing reasons and was struck by just how much I miss og Ashley 😭😭😭 babygirl I’m soso sorry for what the remake did to you

“I’ve wanted to try doing a fashion shoot for a magazine overseas. And the setting is Paris, which I love! The city’s buildings and the townscape are so beautiful, so it would make for a wonderful shoot, so I’ve been really looking forward to it.” When looking at a photo of herself dissolving into the Parisian scenery, a happy expression comes over her face. As the shoot continues, Mina changes into countless outfits and quickly captures their design, moving actively or standing still with a mature mood. Her movements are widely varied, just like a top model.

“Paris is known for its classic cityscape, but the people living there are also wonderful. There’s a calm atmosphere, and I admire the way people spend time at cafes, use chic fashion in their own ways, and dress up at night to enjoy the nightlife. When I first visited Paris, I was looking forward to sightseeing. I was able to go see the outside of the Louvre, but there wasn’t time to go inside, so I was looking forward to going there the next time. If I had an opportunity to stay longer, there are so many other plans I would want to do, like getting up in the morning and going to a café, going to the market if the weather was nice – spending time here as though I lived here,” she says with a sparkle in her eye.

In order to embody Mina’s dream plan, the shoot this time is themed as if Mina was studying abroad in Paris for a short time during the summer season. She wears Fendi’s summer collection in a bourgeois-chic apartment to express the feeling of spending time freely in the summer.

“The Fendi summer collection that I wore for the shoot this time has a fresh style of Western clothing and swimwear. When you think of swimwear, you often get the image that it’s only worn at places like the beach or the pool. But if you wear a jacket and skirt or denim pants over it, you can wear it around town, and it’s very new and cool. My personal favorite is the combination of a short jacket and striped skirt with swimwear.”

Mina travels around the world as a member of TWICE. In 2023, the group embarked on their fifth world tour, becoming the first girl group to perform at stadiums in Japan, and set records for days in a row, including setting the record for the first girl group to hold a sold-out performance at LA’s SoFi Stadium. The group’s tour is ongoing, and they are currently scheduled to hold a performance at Nissan Stadium, where they will be the first overseas female artists to perform. Mina is enthusiastic, saying, “It will be a challenge for us.”

Furthermore, last year, she began unit activities with MISAMO. “The three of us - Sana-chan, Momo-chan, and I – have been working as hard as we can to support each other. This year, we hope to go on tour for the album we released as MISAMO.”

Mina shows off her beautiful new faces one after another, both as a member of the world-famous girl group that captivates audiences with their amazing live performances, and as a model participating in fashion shoots as a brand muse. In January of this year, she attended Fendi’s couture collection as a guest, and made her show debut. She expressed that she was nervous about going to the show alone, but said, “Personally, I love Fendi, so I was even more excited for that. I bought my first knitwear a few years ago, and thought it was really cool and comfortable. After that, I bought a bag, and now I use it regularly. Personally, I like the “Peekaboo” collection. Fendi generally has very feminine collections, but they also debut some very imaginative items, so I’m always looking forward to surprises.”

As mentioned, this was Mina’s first time coming to Paris alone for a fashion shoot since her debut. She gave the impression of a female image that was simultaneously cute, intellectual, and elegant. What kind of expression will she show in her next fashion shoot? We can’t take our eyes off Mina as she continues to put forth effort and gain experience to update her form.
