i dont really like it when people dumb down Curly's characterization to just the guy enabling Jimmy. I get that that makes it easier to not like him, so that's why a lot of people do that, because they feel guilty about sympathizing with someone who's done smth fucked up like that, but i really don't think it's giving Curly the justice he deserves.

regardless of if you like him as a person or not, Curly is still a victim and he suffered greatly at Jimmy's hand. Just because he did something fucked up doesn't make him a 'monster' (sorry because i saw someone say that he looks like a monster post-crash and thats sticking with me because why TF are we saying disabled burn victims look like LITERAL MONSTERS- yall use some common sense I BEG)

Dumbing down characters is what fandom does best, but i think it particularly irks me in Mouthwashing because of the nature of the story. Jimmy already thinks of the rest of the crew poorly and doesn't see them for how they really are, we don't need to be doing that too.

I also feel like people don't really recognize the fact Jimmy manipulates and abuses Curly too, even before the crash. What Curly did was fucked up but for the love, don't dumb him down to just this one thing he did.

then some time later its announced that their bassist, corazon, is leaving the band and has been absent from the limelight ever since. their charity case boy, like most insignificant footnotes in celebrity news, just kinda disappeared from the tabloids too. doffy and the Donquixotes are still legends in the rocks scene and the man never changed. the end

He has to accept that love is a terrifying leap of faith in vulnerability in order to gain a partnership that is considered a rarity. I love the idea that he spent 30 years yearning for things he thought he would never have and when he is actually given those opportunities (albeit admittedly through unusual circumstances) he has to learn how to actually live in them, becuase they were always just Concepts until now. watching wwdits is just being like "wow this season truly focused on making nandor and guillermo more equal so that they can do nandermo in the next season without the power imbalance" all the time except next season they somehow find yet another reason why someone might say that there is a power imbalance and so they fix it so they can do nandermo later, but then they find another reason and another.

and just like every other season im convinced that season 5 truly got rid off every single tiniest thing that could be viewed as power imbalance with guillermo officially not being a familiar, with vampires lying to nandor for guillermo's safety effectively affirming that guillermo's place in the house is not dependent only on nandor's feelings. even guillermo choosing to be human can be viewed as him not having to change into nandor's cool superior species to be with him. i cannot, for the life of me, think for any other way in which it hasnt been made clear that when these two get together it will be because they choose to be, but i say that every fucking season and they somehow manage to find a way every single time
