If there's one thing about Taehoon that you truly despise and adore at the same time, it would be his randomness, kissing you randomly when you had just applied lipbalms.

It was just a fine afternoon in his house, with you successfully dragging Taehoon to do his homework. After all the nags and things, he managed to finish it with your help. You turned the TV on later, just before your upper lip brushed your lower ones. Think its been a long time ever since you applied lipbalms.

You pulled out a cherry-flavoured lipbalms from your backpack, applying it softly. With few strokes, you closes the cap and put them back in your backpack. It reaches Taehoon's attention, who was just trying to find snacks in the fridge. After finding some snacks, he sits down, huffing loudly.

You would never expect the words rolling out of his mouth. "Can I try 'yer lipbalm?"

"Huh?" You hum confusedly. The Seong Taehoon that uses nothing and licks his own lips because he's too lazy to use lipbalms (even after you gifted him one), is asking to use your lipbalm? Think the world is in a sorta apocalypse.

"Yer got a new one.. right? So.. y'know, wanna try how it tastes," he replied casually.

You muttered a small 'Oh' before pulling out the lipbalm from your backpack and handling it to him. Until he denies.

"No, idiot. Wanna taste it like this," Taehoon touches your chin softly but firmly, tilting you in a position that creates an easier access for his lips (and so your noses didn't bump). He slowly nibbles on the lower lip as you relaxes into the kiss, letting him do whatever he wants.

With closed eyes, you savour the feels of his mouth slowly devouring yours. His tongue dancing, giving yours a lingering taste of a peppermint candy he ate on your way home. Slowly, your hands finds its way on the light brown strands of his hair, tugging and pulling the hairs on the nape of his neck. Also, simultaneously pulling him closer.

Both of you were so deep in the moment, you did not realize the sounds of the locks and doorknob being pulled. Hansoo, just stand awkwardly when he just entered home. He clears his throat, signaling both of you.

You pulled out of the kiss quickly, being the one of you who realize Hansoo's presence. Taehoon, on the other hand, did not realize. It was only when he realizes you're blushing, and trying to find what or who made you did that (aside from him). And there, Hansoo is, in the doorway, trying to check the perfectly fine shoe rack.

"Ugh, just go away, dad." Taehoon grunts as his dad enters his bedroom, chuckling softly while muttering a word or two.

With the click of the door that was closed, you sighed. The day was going late, and you're.. pretty embarassed after being caught kissing with Taehoon. Damn. The thoughts itself makes you wanna dissapear from the existence.

You stood up from the couch and fixes your skirt, taking your bag. "I'm gonna head home. It's gonna be late,"

Taehoon also stands. "'M gonna walk you home, 'kay?"

"But it's late-"

"Because it's late. Can't let ya walk around this late alone, huh,"

He intertwines his hands with you as he guides you out, softly (or not) yelling at his dad that he's gonna walk you home for a few minutes.

Arrived at your home, he makes sure you're already inside the house and had locked the door before he left. And then, on his way home, he sent a simple text,

Thank you for the lipbalm. ㅋㅋ

Best believe he sent it with the biggest grin you see on your entire years of life, smiling like an idiot on his phone.

right then, i will. because what are his lucks that he can move companies consistently, with only like a month's gap in between? in this economy?

if you look closely, his position on the 2011 section is daeri, assistant manager, like moon who shares seojin and hansoo's desk. if you're a fresh graduate employee, you need 4 years to get that position. so if cha-il started working in 2006, it's pretty on track. how though!??

what are the odds that a certain company has an empty assistant manager or deputy manager spot for him to fill? what are his strategies? does he bounce around korea from gyeonggi to busan and daegu then seoul like that? or is seoul packed enough for such high chances of re-employment? did he just creep higher through the company sizes? till he reached something as conglomerate as JU? is man just so driven for that one purpose, God just lets things work out for him?

i heard that it's so hard to quit in japan but not sure what's the culture in korea - a resignation letter to the highest power and that's it? i heard an american youtuber said that when she quit she still has to stay 3 months before physically leaving the position... so honestly sir, how? wouldn't you need at least a 30-day notice before you leave?

and does he just take sabbaticals for a month after he thinks he's swept the place clean? and people just come and ask him to join their company? shin's magnet istg

i mean at some point i'm sure he might have been mentioned in the news for toppling someone powerful - even if just once in the whole news, it would have been enough marketing for his "freelancer" career - and the headcannon is sewoong heard about him and just goes here's my card, i need you for my company, do what you must?

also was thinking about his oersonality a lot, and that this man's perseverance is because he never got over his father's loss. i would say trauma but I don't want to use that word lightly and i'm not sure, but here's my argument:

like i don't think mental health might be attended much back in the early 2000s as it is today so him loosing his dad might have killed so much of himself - man's not just broken. add the humongous the self-blame to that and you get an intentional 180 degree change in a man.

so he grows more insistent and more ruthless about finding out the truth and in the process just just grows colder, and colder and colder in his insistence to capture the one embezzling money.

i do wonder if he was as warm as hansoo, with his father at least (did he saw himself in the boy?) because that little scene with yoon mikyung when they're younger showed that he's not a man of many emotions. very pragmatic and practical, but perhaps - no, surely - he had dreams and hopes as well? a littlr more optimistic about the world? based on this little statement of romanticism here, and that all just died with his dad.

back on his practical pragmatisim - he doesn't smile much with mikyung (well there could be other factors like him just tolerating her crush but still) makes me think he doesn't (like never) get social cues that well, overcome by his brilliance. the bombastic side eyes we get was hilarious though. shin ha kyun you genius.

or maybe his humour is just crippled after some 30 years of chosen distrust that he just...

i don't know why but can you see Mr. Kim with Minji. Hansoo with Taehoon. Jincheol with Dabin sitting around Hansoo's dining room table having like a seasonal(winter, summer etc) dinner. I had this thought like surely they would have dinner together maybe once every three months. Like usually none of the trios kids talking to each other and being on their phones, but this time Taehoon brought his girlfriend, and you know how Dabin sees an animal behind everybody, what will she see behind his girlfriend and then the trio just casually chatting about who's got a better kid while Jincheol and Mr. Kim gang up on Hansoo for having a son, and they like kinda bicker and stuff. Please tell me I'm not the only one who could see this happening.

The dinner is all the dad’s ideas and they actually take turns hosting because they all believe they have the best house probably. Only Hansu’s is considered the most nostalgic.

Minji wouldn’t mind coming to Taehoon’s house and actually keeps more to the dad’s and will probably help Hansu in the kitchen. She would 100% be very friendly to Taehoon’s girlfriend.

Everyone, including Taehoon’s dad, would ask themselves how in the many worlds and universes Taehoon found someone who can actually put up with him. Much to Taehoon’s dismay, his girlfriend is now part of the trio and he’s kicked out. Sorry Taehoon, girls only.

The trio dad’s jumping Hansu for having a son and him looking at taehoon and then at the girls while he imagined his life what it would be like if he had a daughter instead of a boy. Taehoon would sense that his dad is thinking about something to do with him but he ignores it.

I feel like every dinner at someone’s house will either be ambushed by something or someone. It would be chaotic as hell😭

In Hansoo's defense Taehoon's the one who owes most to Kim66 anyway. Who was the genius who thought it was a good idea to throw himself in the river when he couldn't swim?

Tssh. It's called rationalizing, guys. He does feel bad. He'd probably get Taehoon in trouble but it's not like he could leave a friend in need. Whatever. Taehoon'll get over it. He'll give him additional allowance.

Hansoo excused himself to the bathroom and ever so gently flipped the lock behind him. He hurriedly took out his phone and immediately hit his emergency contact. "Where are you, kid?"

"Whaaaaat.." Came Taehoon's whine from the other line. "It's hardly afternoon. I said I'd be home for dinner. Can't you believe your son. Why do you hurt me this way, man."

"Don't be dramatic. I need a favor."

"I mopped yesterday! I told you to make the kids rest after they ate for at least half an hour and not let them run around much less go spin kicking right away! You never listen, I've told you millions of times since I was four! They might fucking choke, man! Who barfed this time?!"

"Not that! We don't even have classes today. I'll give you money. Come home quickly."

"How many bodies are there."

"Be serious!" Hansoo hisses. "I need you to distract Mom so I can slip out."

"No way, dude. Why would I get scolded by Mom for you."

"It's an emergency!"

"I'll be in the emergency room one of these days if you keep pulling shit like this. How can you ask this of your son?!"

"Two months worth of allowance. And I'll never make you mop again."

Hansoo's plead was answered with silence he almost bargained a new phone when Taehoon suddenly spoke. "Just tell them to fucking sit still for half an hour, Dad. Make them watch those cocomangoes. Whatever. What's your plan?"

Hansoo bit his lip to keep himself from yelping in joy. "Atta boy. I just need you to come quick, say something outrageous and I'll pretend to have an emotional meltdown and throw myself out of the window."

"The window? Like, you'll break the glass and all? Now that's worth getting scolded for. What do I say?"

"Anything. Make it as shocking as possible."

"Anything?"

"Just don't stutter."

"As if, man. Then don't hesitate. Throw yourself out as soon as I said my spill. We don't get a second take."

"Gotcha."

"I'll say it as soon as I come in. I'll be up in like.. a minute."

"Eh. So you're home?"

"Get it together, old man. You said this is an emergency. Do you need to use the bathroom first?"

"Shut up and just come." Hansoo ended the call. He flushed the toilet and even turned the faucet on for a few seconds to make it seem like he really was there to use the bathroom.

In two strides he was back on the couch next to his wife, fiddling with his phone and humming to himself to feign calm.

He heard the front door open and braced himself.

"You're home early.." Minji greets Taehoon as he comes in.

"Yeah." Taehoon makes eye contact with him and he knew what needs to be done in the next split second. He wound his muscles so tightly he'd bounce like a spring once he loosens up. Nothing could stop him. Even a husband's loyalty for his beloved wife. Real.

Taehoon clears his throat as a signal.. then utters,

"I just found out I'm pregnant."

Hansoo hurls himself out of the window. His laughter could still be heard as he crashes on a car roof below.

Promise; You Love me, Right?

You called him by his name, with your anger fulfiled your voice. "Hansoo! I told you from yesterday, I don't do that!" you couldn't help when Hansoo glared at you with anger, too. You both were consumed by each other's ego.

"You're lying again, [Name]." he said with amused, but not in good way.

"No! I'm not fucking lying!" your declaration, you raised your voice from quite a distance. Then Hansoo walked up to you. "I told you, Hansoo ... I'm honest about this." you sighed. You could felt your head a bit dizzy now, because you were stress because overthinking about Hansoo and your relationship.

"Then, why are you with those men, huh? They are your boy friends? your cousins? Why are they clinging to you, [Name]? Answer me, and look me in the eye when you talk to me." he hissed indignantly.

This is what will happen if you are consumed by your ego, the fight that will ensue.

"Where did your promise go, Hansoo?" you whispered under your breath, you looked down because you were afraid to meet Hansoo's eyes, afraid to see his brown irises that were looking at him angrily at this time. "Why are you always suspicious of me? I haven't even explained who the men were yesterday."

You could heard him took a long breath, then exhaled slowly. "Sorry, I can't help myself when you're around them—I mean ... why don't you understand my feelings when you are with them?"

Ego, the one that was made you and your boyfriend often compete argument.

But, you were forgived each other after that emotion-filled argument.

"You love me, right?" Hansoo asked you in calm tone, not like before.

You turned up at him, your gaze met his, then you nodded. And Hansoo hugged you tight. He doesn't want you leave before he let you go from his arms.

"I'm sorry." Hansoo apologized to you, he petted your head.

"I'm sorry, too ... Hansoo." you also apologized to him.

Little thought on the Manager Kim trio's family

Okay so while I was reading the latest chapter of Manger Kim, I had a thought. I don't know why but can you see Mr. Kim with Minji. Hansoo with Taehoon. Jincheol with Dabin sitting around Hansoo's dining room table having like a seasonal(winter, summer etc) dinner. hsci wherein chail gets audited bc he's spent most, if not all, of his salary to highclass restaurant, expensive clothes on one hand and hole-in-the-wall cheap dinners and a whole lot of fried chicken deliveries on the other.

the audit team and the higher executives didnt find out any wrongdoings or suspicious transactions because chail provided evidences that it is his personal money and none of the company's. he was well within his right to spend his money as he likes.

what the audit team and higher executives did found out was the reason chail spends his money like that. and it was his younger boyfriend, hansoo.

I saw that you wrote a drabble on my ask and I loved it. It was so well written and Taehoon's personality really carried through.

I do have another idea for a time loop and it does involve Taehoon again, but also with Johan and Daniel.

It would probably take place at about the end of the God Dog arc where Johan is abandoned and fighting Gun.

Little Daniel is there (but y'know, like tall, buff , post training, etc.) and he's seen Johan at the taekwondojang here and there and he knows that Taehoon has mentally adopted Johan. So he subtly makes a call during the fight.

Just as Gun is about to knock Johan and Zack down after Zack shows up to help, Gun gets kicked in the face. Again.

After this, I guess the 2 of them would fight and Yeonwoo, and Dowoon (who tagged along to see who the guys who's been flirting with fighting Taehoon is) and they take Johan to the van. Johan gets promptly adopted by Seong Hansoo.

Meanwhile, everyone wants to know who this pretty gremlin is who's fighting Gun and has Gun smiling. even thoguh he's scolding him. - especially when he finds out about Johan's situation

Vasco : Johan's brother is still flirting with his boyfriend. Who knew Johan had a brother?

Hansoo looked down upon the two similar boys, one of which was his, and resisted the urge to pinch the smaller's cheeks. That was a feat in of itself, since Johan still retained a small portion of his baby fat, making his cheeks look extra-pinchable.

That was it, he was adopting him. And if he came with an adorable dog, who was he to separate them?!

Johan fit seamlessly into their little family. He was baby, after all, and both Taehoon and Hansoo adored him. They never really stopped babying him, but knew he had his own life and let him do his own thing most of the time. All in all, things were peaceful.

Then came the phone call.

Tae was hanging out with 'daddy issues #1' and 'daddy issues #2' when his phone began ringing incessantly. Annoyed, and having half the mind to just tell the person on the other side to fuck off he picked up.

"Taehoon" Danny's hurried tone sounded through the speaker before the brown-haired boy could even open his mouth, "Uh, you need to come here. Johan's in trouble!"

No other words were needed, Tae hung up and began sprinting toward the location of his brother's phone. That had been one of the conditions of letting him continue on with God Dog, that he would keep his location visible to them at all times and call if he needed help. The last part was near impossible for the proud boy, which is why both he and his father had insisted on the location bit.

The taekwondo prodigy skidded to a stop before the scene that greeted him, Yeonwoo and Dowoon panting a little behind him. His eyes zeroed in on Johan's fallen body laying on the bloodied concrete, before shifting onto the man looking down upon him with his hands in his pockets.

"Oh no, you don't!" He mumbled, rushing towards him.

Gun felt a sudden sense of dread wash over him before his face made contact with the asphalt, hard. Deja vu was one of the only things registering in his mind before he got his bearings back. He turned to look at the attacker, a large smirk stretching on his lips as he caught sight of the familiar mop of brown hair.

"Taehoon~" He practically purred, dodging an incoming kick.

"Satan's secret lovechild." The boy replied deadpan, socking him in the face.

"It's so nice to see you again."

"Can't say the same." His tone didn't change despite Gun's sultry voice.

The two continued exchanging hits while the others watched. It didn't look like they were going to be slowing down anytime soon, so they were content with just watching the show. Yeonwoo and Dowoon in particular were egging them on while simultaneously fighting over ship names. Daniel was nursing the two childhood friends' wounds the best he could while sneaking glances at the two fighters. He didn't want to miss anything important, but Zack and Johan were still bleeding and he had to deal with them first. Nonetheless, he secretly joined Dowoon and Yeonwoo in cheering for the brunette once the two began showing signs of waking up.

"Gunhoon!"

"Taegun!"

"Gunhoon!"

"Taegoon!"

"What the hell is going on?"

They paused their bickering turning to the now-awake dog-lover and gave him a shrug before resuming their conversation.

"They're fighting over ship names," Danny informed him, slipping over to check on the still-sleeping boxer before facing Johan again. "You might as well get comfortable. Something tells me they're going to be at it for a while."

The boy nodded dumbfounded, before leaning back down next to Zack. He was out like a light, causing Danny to coo and take pictures of him sleeping. He was sure Taehoon was going to thank him for them later, and it would probably be enough to bribe him to go easier on him during training. Daniel could only hope.

"I basically like things that are older than I thought they are. You know, they feel a little warmer and more affectionate than the latest, cutting-edge gadgets.

I can’t really remember exactly when or which old stuff I’ve first particularly become fond of. But I guess the experiences of visiting the countryside when I was younger influence me tending to get attached to old stuff in general. 

具体的にいつからそうなのかとか、初めて愛着が湧いたのが何だったかとかは思い出せないんだけど、若い頃に田舎とか地方によく行ってたのが影響してるのかなとは思う。

One example is my collection of vintage audio gears. There’s definitely a point in my life when I was so into collecting them. It started as hobby first, but gradually I kept myself busy loading and carrying them like fridge every day. It’s funny to look back on those days because I was almost like a sound master, who searches for great sound no matter what. I wasn’t able to achieve that master level, though. 

ビンテージのオーディオ機器コレクションも古いもの好き故だよ。むかしすごい凝って集めてた時期があってね。最初はただの趣味のつもりだったのが、最終的には毎日冷蔵庫並みにおっきい機材積んでは運んでってするようになっていって。当時のこと振り返ると笑っちゃうよね、もはや何が何でも極上のサウンドを追求する仙人みたいになってたからさ。まぁそんな偉人のレベルには達しなかったんだけどね。

Now, my then serious hobby has brought in many changes to my life. 

でもその趣味が、今のぼくの生活にたくさんの変化をもたらしてくれた。

The biggest one started with the place I’ve stocked the speakers gradually starting to attract neighbors, where they would just hang after work for no particular reasons other than just getting together, drinking beers and coffee and just chill. 

一番おっきな変化といえば、集めたスピーカーを置いてた場所があるんだけど、そこにいつの間にか近所の人たちがじわじわ��集まってくるようになって、仕事終わりとか特に目的もなくビールとかコーヒー飲みながら皆がほっこりするような場所になっていったってこと。

We all had a really good time there with basically strangers who share no connections other than this single connection that we’re living in the same area.  That actually enabled us to chat over basically anything though, from each other’s work to hobby, without any weird tension that we might feel at office or home.

皆何の共通点も持ってない、はじめましての人ばっかりだったのに、全員がすっごいいい時間を過ごしてたんだよね。唯一の共通点といえば、たまたま同じエリアに住んでたってだけ。でもそのことで、かえって皆ざっくばらんに何でも気軽に話せたっていうのはあった。お互いの仕事のこととか趣味は何かとか、職場とか家ではなんか話し辛いこととかも。

From this experience, I’ve come to make up my mind to quit my day job and properly open this coffee/wine bar using the same space. It’s not located in the commercial districts where cool kids often hang around just because I really liked how organically and naturally my space used to get filled with the locals every night, which I wanted to inherit to the bar even at the cost of location.

この経験があったから、それまでやってた会社勤めを辞めようって決心がついたんだ。かつてご近所さんで賑わったあの場所を使って、主にコーヒーとワインを出すバーを始めてみようと思ってね。この場所って、ソウルでイケてる若者がよく行くような商業エリアにあるわけじゃないんだ。その理由はシンプルで、もともとごく自然に、偶発的に皆夜ごと集まり出したその感じが好きだったから。商業エリアに進出して人気を出さないっていうリスクを冒してでも、もともとの雰囲気を自分がオープンするバーに引き継ぎたかったんだ。

As I’m opening the second bar right now, I’m meeting even more new people and emotion that’s also new to me - the emotion that I didn’t even know it exists before. You will experience it only when you dare start something new. I mean, I like old stuff but I like new experiences. It’s kind of ironic, right?

If you said that your jaw didn't drop when you saw her, you'd be lying. If you said that you didn't get butterflies in your stomach upon seeing her walking toward you and her younger brother, you'd be lying.

You liked her when you were both younger, when you first met her in high school. But she already had a boyfriend, so you never got a chance to say anything. They were together most of your high school career, on and off. They were off a few times, but Y/N had been too busy crying about whatever fight that had caused their breakup. She’d always bawl her eyes out saying that she thinks that they “really broke up this time.” You got so used to hearing it that it had stopped bothering you and hurting your feelings.

After high school, you thought you'd have a shot since she and her ex-boyfriend had broken up two months before her graduation. She said that she wasn’t going to get back together with him. She didn’t get back together with him, much to your relief. You thought that was the perfect opportunity to tell her how you felt about her, but you were wrong. To top things off, she got accepted to go to school in Canada and decided to go.

So, obviously, you never got to tell her your feelings. She didn’t come back home that often—just around the holidays. You didn’t blame her, after all. The tickets were expensive. When she was home, though, you didn’t get a chance to speak up. She was usually pretty busy when she came home, spending time with her other friends and family.

Over the years, she’s changed. She’s gotten prettier, a little taller, and wiser. She wasn’t exactly the same girl that you knew in high school, but your feelings for her never changed. Not even when you knew that she had that boyfriend in high school. Not even when she had a boyfriend in Canada, even though he looked like a model out of a fashion magazine and he was taller than you and had a better body.

But you waited. You waited about eight years for her. Eight years and counting...

She was single now, from your understanding. And you hopes that she stayed like that for a while, at least until you could make your confession. You’d been holding your feelings in for so long. She wrapped her arms around you and you returned the gesture, squeezing her. You took a moment to take in her scent. The scent of her perfume was something flowery that I couldn’t quite put my finger on, whatever it was. But it was so her.

Disappointment filled you immediately as she pulled away from you. You wanted to hold her tightly, not letting her go. You wanted to hold her in your arms and tell her how beautiful she was. You wanted to tell her how much you missed her. And that you were proud of her. But you couldn’t do any of those things. Not yet.

“Congratulations on your graduation,” you said instead.

You were really proud of Y/N. She’d worked so hard to get where she was today. She studied really hard in high school, even nagging you and Hyungwon to study harder so that you could get into good colleges. Her nagging might’ve even helped you a little. Both of you were doing significantly better in college than in high school.

Since she came back a couple days ago, you couldn’t stop thinking about her. A million thoughts ran through your mind at once.

How would I confess? How could I do it without her freaking out? What if she doesn’t even like me? What if she has someone? Someone that she hasn’t told me about? She wouldn’t tell me every guy she talked too, would she?

Your mind was racing. How could you possibly concentrate on anything right now? You and your friends were supposed to get dinner in an hour, but you couldn’t wait that long. You needed to get all of this off of your chest as soon as possible. You picked up my phone and opened the group message.

By the time everyone got to the gym, almost fifteen minutes had passed. You rolled my eyes as you saw Hyungwon and Wonho finally walking your way. It had taken long enough for your levels of anxiety to rise.

Minhyuk had spent the whole time complaining, mostly about how hungry he was. He’d even suggested that we leave them and eat without them. But you needed everyone present for the talk that you were about to have with them. You needed as much advice as possible.

“Come on,” Minhyuk huffed, “we’re late.”

Wonho smirked and raised a finger matter-of-factly. “Actually, since we were supposed to go at seven, we’re early.”

Hyungwon yawned, putting his hand on his hip lazily. “Let’s not fight, guys…”

“Yah! It’s your fault we’re late,” Minhyuk complained as the seven of you waited to cross the street.

“That’s a good point,” Shownu muttered under his breath.

“Hey! Don’t go pointing fingers at me!” Hyungwon pointed to Changkyun. “At least I wasn’t a traitor who made ramyun when we made plans for dinner.”

He rolled his eyes in response to Hyungwon’s comment.“I would’ve had room to eat after…”

You and your friends had arrived at the restaurant within a few minutes. You’d decided on pizza. For once, that was something that the seven of you could agree on without much of a fuss. For a Friday night, it wasn’t too crowded. This was your favorite place to eat near campus. It was nicely priced and had good food despite the place being kind of small.

You ordered three pizzas to start. One cheese, one pepperoni, and one with kimchi. Once the orders were in, you broke the silence. “Hey, guys, I was wondering if I could tell you something…” Everyone looked at you expectantly, waiting for you to say something. You suddenly grew shy. You wanted to tell them to forget it, but you’d never forgive yourself if you didn’t get this out.

You said, “I like Y/N…”

Hyungwon was the first to speak, being her younger brother and all. “I already knew that, dummy.”

Your face began to feel hot with embarrassment. You could almost feel it turning redder and redder by the second. You felt yourself shrinking in your seat. “Is it that obvious?” Before anyone could answer, you buried my face in your hands. “Oh God. Do you think she knows?”

Hyungwon shook his head. “I doubt it. In high school, she was too busy worrying about… What was his name again? Hansol? Hansoo? Hansomething… And then she didn’t see you that often after we all graduated high school.”

“You should ask her on a date,” suggested Jooheon.

“You know,” said Wonho, “seduce her…”

“I'm not trying to sleep with her!” you protested. “I want to date her!”

“You know what I mean,” said Wonho.

“Make her want you,” said Minhyuk.

That was certainly a better choice of words. Of course, if you dated her, sex might come into the equation later but that was the least of your problems. You more concerned about making her your girlfriend than getting her into bed.

You wanted to do cute things for her. You wanted to take her places and show her things she's never seen before. For the most part, her exes were jerks. The one from high school broke up with her because they were graduating and didn't see the point to continuing their relationship. The one from Canada, apparently, cheated on her. You just wanted to be the one to treat her well, for once. You had no intention of breaking her heart. She was the only girl you’d felt like this about. And you still did, all through high school and now college. You wanted to make her your girl but you had no idea how she felt about it. You had no idea if she'd even considered it at all. Has she ever thought about me? In that way?

“You should tell her how you feel,” Shownu suggested.

“What if she rejects me?” you asked.

“Hey, man,” said Jooheon, “it’s better than sitting here wondering.”

“Make a move before it’s too late,” Changkyun added.

They were all right. All of your friends had really good points. If you didn’t tell her how you felt now, you might not ever get the chance to do it. She could find someone else, leaving you and your feelings in the dust once again. Your heart fluttered every single time you saw her, since you were about fifteen. It was time to let your feelings be known.

If she rejected you, so be it. It would hurt since she was your first love, but you’d rather her let you know sooner than later. If she rejected you now, you’d feel better than you would if you spent nights tossing and turning in your bed, wondering what could become of the two of you. You didn’t want to do any of it anymore. You were going to confess your feelings and get them off of your chest, whether or not her feelings for you were the same.

Hyungwon suggested that you come to dinner with him and Y/N the next evening. It was the perfect opportunity. Hyungwon said that he’d even get up to “take a phone call” so that you could make your confession in private.

You had to admit that you were nervous. You weren’t sure what to say or how to begin in the first place. Should you just be straightforward? Should you give a little background information first? What if you ended up being too corny? What if she thought it was dumb? There were so many questions that you couldn’t answer. There were just so many things that could go wrong tonight. Hyungwon had suggested that you have a couple glasses of soju first, to get you a little relaxed first. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad idea.

As planned, Hyungwon answered, “Hello?” He paused. “Can you hear me?” He paused again, as if trying to hear. You knew all of it was for show, though. Hyungwon seemed to be a pretty good actor. He pulled the phone away from his ear, casting an apologetic look. “It’s a little hard to hear in here. I’ll be back.”

Y/N nodded took a sip of her water as her younger brother walked outside of the restaurant. “So how have you been? We haven’t really had much of a chance to catch up yet…”

“I’ve been okay. School’s school, you know?”

She crossed her arms across her chest. “So boring. Are there any girls you like?”

You paused for a moment. This was the perfect opportunity to tell her how you felt. Without realizing, she opened up the conversation. You sighed. “There is this one girl…”

She raised her eyebrows, intrigued. “Really? What’s she like?”

Day 3

Last night, I talked to a friend who was in the same boat as I am. She, among the other people I've talked to about this, gave the same advice: be on my own first and focus on myself. She's right. They're all right. Hearing this from her made my heart feel calm. I think it's because we both have similar problems why I was able to confide in her easily. She helped me make a list of the things I wanna do first, and I listed them all. Upon realizing, I forgot that I have short-term dreams that I wanna fulfill. I'm gonna start them slowly. I'm excited. This is making me excited. One of the best advices she has given me: yourself before others. And, HanSoo in the haunted house, lol.
