Luineleth's reign has ended, and it's time for her heir (still without an adult name) to take up the mantle.
This new leader, the sixth generation, is the youngest wolf to become lead at 10 months old (aged up to 1yr by the lead mechanic). All her predecessors were between 1 year and 1y9mo old at time of assuming the role.
She's also going to be the Orroraci's first lead above 1500 stats, is the first to begin at over 800 (her mother's adulthood stats were 789), and once I get the last badger pelt I need she'll be the pack's first T3 lead (she also needs a few other applicators but that's not a rush).
She has three littermates who're scattered to other packs, successfully having found a home, and she's now older than all of them.

Herbalist and her family
Every pack needs a herbalist! And the Stalking Whispers are no different. The last few months especially have welcomed many illnesses that the skilled young healer has cured, save for one or two wolves she couldn’t help during the past winter.
Introducing, Lychee Herbgrove!
Lychee is a fairly young female wolf who has been training as a herbalist for around a year. She feels no real romantic feelings toward any wolves but loves the thoughts of having pups. Which she has done as you will see later, using a stud from another pack who she hasn’t kept in touch with. Lychee plans to suggest names for her pups that take after herbs and plants, Blåne agrees to think about it, but overall it is her decision on grow-names when the pups hit adulthood. She can be considered obnoxious at times as once you get her going she isn’t likely to stop talking anytime soon. Especially about the new medicines and illnesses she’s learned about! But even if she receives the eye roles from her pack mates she still cares deeply for them as a found family and treats them all fairly! Her son is especially close to her and will listen to any rant about medicine she has! He wishes to take after its mother. Unfortunately her job took her away from the pups she loves quite often.
Oak Herbgrove
First daughter of Lychee Herbgrove, Oak does not take interest in her mother’s duties and would rather learn the ways of a scout than a herbalist. She’s very confident, especially now that she has finally reached adolescence. She doesn’t mind that she doesn’t have a father as she never met hers, but seeing her pup sitter interact with his own children always made her wonder how it would be. Oak also is salty about how often her mother was busy during the first few months she was alive. Her sibling doesn’t share these feelings. Oak is close with her brother, Star, and tells him everything. The siblings feelings are mutual and they promise to stick together no matter what happens in life.
Star Herbgrove
First son of Lychee Herbgrove, Star has shared an intense interest in his mother’s work and in his pack leader’s connection to spirits. Star can’t find a good reason for Oak to be upset about their mother being busy…but tries to be supportive of its sister anyway. The pack finds the young wolf a little odd, but try’s to treat him fairly as he hasn’t exactly done anything to make them uncomfortable just something about the youngest pack members eyes and actions. Xe is a precise wolf who gets upset at times when it doesn’t get something right off the bat. But his mother is very understanding and he is glad to have the support of her and Oak. Currently Star is learning medicine under his mother and Herbert and finds the job fascinating in every way.
(Pups fathered by @olessan-orroraci stud incase anyone is curious)

These two pups may be fairly ordinary, but their deaths today and yesterday mean the end of the bloodline of two of my original packmates, who I picked up as NBWs the day the game opened.
Cocoa's line were originally chasers but moved to finishers, and ended up high stat (look at Cocoa VI here with over 700 stats at birth!) before any of the other wolves from my pack. They've also been some of the nicest looking wolves in my pack, especially Cocoa IV.
Cocoa V, this pup's mother, just hit 7y2.5mo. No more pups.
Almond's line were my herbalists.Their stats are not as high as the hunt team's stalkers as they didn't need to be, but I have this pup's father, Almond V, as a stalker to improve the stats.
Almond V is 7y6.5mo old, and his mate has a 5 month cooldown. If he survives until she's in heat again, the Almond line won't end, but he has to live to 7y 11.5 months, which I've had surprisingly more than half my pack wolves reach, but is no guarantee.
Both pups were well guarded with high survival chance but they died due to the 15% food/mood penalty at each rollover, because I didn't have time/forgot to feed them. 🇫
#the orroraci#wolvden#wolvblr#these are the first two genuinely important pups I've lost and I'm a founder player lol#it does suck tbh#I can't disband Almond V's pair bond because it'd put him on a cooldown

Isil has died, and the Orroraci pack is now led by its fifth generation of leads.
Luineleth looks a lot like her mother (she's getting a base change at some point), and like her, became leader at level 11. However she has 200 more stats, more aggressively distributed to the STR/AGI/SMT needed of a lead wolf. She's a little younger than Isil was -- Isil became lead at 1y8½mo and Luineleth now at 1y5mo.
Middle of the lunar festival is the best possible time to swap leads lol :D
Also Isil died at the same rollover as my absolute unit of a NBW, Shale, who was at the top of the strength and hunt leaderboards at the time of death lol:

Shadowgem was one of my first wolves to pass 1000 stats, she had over 1000 hunts and I think a couple hundred scouts under her belt, her last litter produced pups all above 700 stats, and she in general was an absolute unit that was arguably the most important member of my main hunting team (the stalker).
Two pups from her last litter have just joined one of my hunting teams and the third one is off in another pack having just become its lead wolf. Unfortunately, none of her pups carry melanism despite Shadowgem being a second generation carrier (pup of Umbra) in my pack. They do have merle, though, and some of Shadowgem's nieces/nephews in my pack do have the mutation.
👍🐺

A very pretty new pup from my herbalist and stud, pretty enough that I'll keep her until she's old enough to sell despite being a T1 lol

A tidy pinned post for this new blog :)
My den/pack is Orroraci #2437;
My stud is Apollo #1591802, he is a 10 marking T3 Luna, 850 stats, with selene lupos, and cross, smudge, and points; he's NIB, 5th gen, with Sunfall in his lineage, and is set at 3gc/200sc; he hasn't got many pups yet and hasn't got many close cousins;
I've made just one decor piece so far, which was partially to see if I could reasonably draw on a 6'5" phone screen with a tiny tablet (not comfortable); it's Decor #861, 400sc + 5gc or 9gc, and is what my lead is currently wearing;
I'm a fairly active user, visiting several times a day, but I'm pretty quiet, especially on mobile. I'm just doing my thing :)

My first tier 3 wolf, directly descended from my founders, immediate cousin to my current lead wolf, and who produced almost entirely tier 3 pups, including I think all of my current tier 3 wolves, while also being an absolute unit
#wolvden#wolvblr#the orroraci#also she took my last dynasty slot and I need to scrape up more gold cones

RIP to my awesome stud who died literally as soon as possible at 7y6mo lmao
He was a NBW (started at 242 stats around 1y2mo old) with over a thousand hunts under his belt and who was siring puppies as recently as earlier today, see ya buddy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
He has five pups in my pack, two are over 5 years old and the other three are 1 rollover old, though alas all T2
#wolvden#wolvblr#I have a new stud lined up I hope he can live up to this guy's legacy#he's also a T3 NBW and I've been working on raising his stats#I'd like to do a G2 with one of his pups or something after him#the orroraci

I'm raffling off a fox base applicator with primarily item entries, and I set a high cap on canine and mustelid fangs and claws, assuming they wouldn't be popular in comparison to currency, nesting material, and herb entries.
BUT they hit the cap and (with the exception of mustelid claws) there are enough fangs/claws to go into several new applicators, I'm surprised 😅
#orroraci talk#wolvden#some fox tails too but I don't have enough overall to make either applicator I think /#/ I'd like to raffle off the next one I make if I don't want to use it#I had a badger one I put on my stud (gotten no badger babies from himyet)#and the fox one I'm raffling was originally for my lead but it's fun to raffle it off and she looks better with merged base anyway :D

So, I have these two wolves, mostly unremarkable members of the pack. They're half cousins -- they have the same grandmother but are otherwise unrelated. I'll call them Ember2 (top) and Morass2 (bottom). They're four years apart in age.
Both are realgar (T3), and are superficially similar mostly due to the realgar and the luna ornate blotches marking. Their grandmother had neither, and they both ended up with them! I didn't notice until now:
Ember was also a realgar. Morass was a dravite (T2) (they also both lived to 7 y 11½mo but that's besides the point).
Morass had losna inverted agouti and luna ornate blotches, but nothing else notable; Ember had just a few regular markings.
Ember2's sire had the luna and losna markings. Morass2's, my stud, doesn't. Both sires are T3 (mojave and realgar).
The grandmother in common, Malia, was a melanistic sarder (T2) with only a few common markings.
So:
Malia (T2 blotchless) + [T3 blotches stud] → Ember (T3 blotchless) + [T3 blotches stud] → Ember2 (T3 blotches)
Malia (T2 blotchless mela) + [TS blotches mela stud] → Morass (T2 blotches mela carrier) + [T3 blotchless stud] → Morass2 (T3 blotches)
I thought it was mildly interesting that they both ended up with the same T3 base, with the same luna marking, but they got it each in a different way, by accident, when their common ancestor had neither trait.
