Sunny Day Jack ★ Stari’s Versions
—
★ DO NOT USE/REPOST WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. NO MINORS.
—
Apologies for the tumblr inactivity, space crew! I’m much more active over on Twitter!
Here’s a simple lineup of Jack designs that I’ll be personally using for myself! I love when artists take a character and add their own personal twists on them, so I’ve done the same to my favorite technicolor clown.
I’ve also seen a few people be interested in two other designs that I’ve done, so I’ve added them to the lineup as well for others to use or to see their full outfits!
—
Here’s a explanation of each design element if you all are interested in that:
Sunnyverse Jack(Left):
Sunnyverse!Jack is my personal interpretation, artistic recolor, and story with him. He is basically a spin-off of the Sunny Time Town AU by JambeeBot.
I wanted his jacket to reflect looking up at a vibrant summer sky, with clouds, rainbow pockets, swirls, and stickers to add to the childlike wonder. His different color suspenders replaces the stripes on his shirt, which is now a sun on the collar!
I’ve personally always liked the idea of Jack’s hair cascading into purple tips, it’s been referenced in many other drawings of mine. Considering Papa Rise also has purple-ish hair, I think it fits!
This design went through a couple sketch phases and some reworks with the most recent showcase being the birthday drawing of Artemis, where this design can be seen in now outdated-concept!
Alternate Outfit (Middle):
Over a year ago, I made a drawing about Jack and bowties, spreading my bowtie propaganda…. And I still am HAHA. Listen, Jack with a bowtie is so cute, So I’m bringing that design back as well as a full ref!
I’d like to say that this is his work or side outfit, but this is not the teacher AU. I did not create that AU, so don’t refer to this design as the teacher AU!
Even though I don’t consider Jack as a rodeo clown, I gave him clown cowboy boots to reference [Redacted] and his southern residence somewhere.
Rainbow Factory Jack(Right):
RainbowFactory!Jack or RF!Jack is an AU I made last year as well, and finally got around to giving you all a full standing ref for him!
He got more attention than I thought, I know a couple of you like delusional men. I get it.
For his hair, aside from the primary highlights, I also changed the coloring to be a bit more muddled and darker on the teal spectrum, as I like to do that when I draw Jack in a not so-friendly manner. His hair is also more spiked, compared to the others who have more of a fluffy round curl.
His coat is very simple, red and yellow stripes down to a cloud border, and the inside of the coat shows a giant sun on the underside. He also has different color rainbow splotches in different places on him!
His eyes can vary in size or be consistent, and the colors of them can change or spiral too! Usually though, the right eye is lighter than the other. His colors are more saturated and darker than the other designs.
Cotton Candy Cupid Jack:
Finally, the last design I have in the lineup is Cupid!Jack!
This is the first custom design I’ve made of Jack. Shared in this post, this was meant to be the Valentine’s Day design I had for him! Though this drawings is extremely old and outdated now for both my MC and art, I decided to carry it on to a proper Cupid AU design for everyone!
He was originally labeled as Cotton Candy Jack in a wip post that keeps getting shared around from time to time, but I’m unsure if I should keep that name for this lover boy now! There was a community cotton candy Jack trend a month or two ago, so maybe I should change the name? What do you all think?
Design wise he parallels the classic Incubus Jack, which I believe was originally a Halloween costume. His design shares similarities on purpose, being the extended body paint gradient and the sheer fabric overlay on the pants.
Almost like an angel/devil duo, Cupid Jack is more pastel, softer/brighter primary hues, has fluffy wings! My goal was to have them be similar enough side by side, but also different enough to tell that they are different themes/holidays.
He has a motif of hearts, ribbons, and sun swirls. His hair gradient is also the most vibrant one, going from cyan to a vibrant pink at the tips.
He has sandals because I thought it fit the whole Cupid vibe, but drawing his dogs out every-time might actually be the end of me.
—
While I will use these personal redesigns, I want to make it clearly stated and obvious that Jack is not my original character, nor are these redesigns an attempt to change his character or completely detach him from his media. There are simply my fun artistic portrayals of him, as I admire his original design, media, and game as well.
The Rainbow Factory and Cupid AUs are technically my AUs. Ship art, written stories, headcanons, etc. of RF or Cupid Jack are completely okay to create! I just ask that you tag me so that I can see what you all do with him!
However, I ask that if Sunnyverse Jack is used, please ask for permission before using his custom design, as it is my own design of him that I use personally.
…and also, I wanna see more MV Jacks! Artists! Show me how you would draw him in your trademark! I love creative expression!

Cosplay Build Guide: Marko's Jacket from The Lost Boys (1987)
I am a lover of the horror genre; horror movies, books, games, you name it! And one of my favorite horror movies is the 1987 classic “The Lost Boys”, which focuses on a gang of motorcycle-riding vampires in the fictional California town of Santa Carla. I'm also a big fan of thrifting and modifying items for cosplay. I decided to combine those two things and make a garment that has lived rent-free in my head since I first saw the film: the colorful patchwork jacket worn by the vampire Marko.
I'm going to walk you through how I made Marko's jacket, breaking down the different parts that comprise the garment.
Marko’s outfit is made up of several components: a white cropped tank top, light wash denim jeans, leather chaps, custom painted leather moto boots, fingerless motorcycle gloves, a black skull earring, and of course, that iconic and extremely loud jacket.
All four titular vampires have a signature jacket they wear in the movie, and Marko’s is by far the most elaborate and distinctive. It consists of three main parts: the base jacket, the Italian tapestries, and the patches. Because of the nature of this build, I had to do a ton of intensive research to determine the individual and highly specific parts of the jacket. My main references were photos from movie memorabilia auction sites whenever one of the original jackets went up for sale, since they photograph the jacket from all angles.
Part 1: The Base Jacket
Marko’s base jacket is, according to my research, a men’s black Levi’s denim jacket in a size 40, which I believe translates to a medium. Now, I’m a petite woman (5’3”, athletic but slim), so I knew that the exact jacket would be too big for my frame. Instead, I found a men’s black denim jacket in an extra small; it's very similar in style to the original, but a little better proportioned for me. It's still very much oversized though. The first things I did were remove the buttons and pockets, and I cut off the hem of the jacket and the sleeve cuffs. Then I tossed the jacket in the washing machine to fray the edges.
Part 2: The Tapestries
The hardest part of the jacket by far was finding the tapestries, for two reasons. The first is that the tapestries were all from the 1960’s and 1970’s, meaning I had to scour vintage stores and websites to find the right ones. The second is the variation. Six jackets were made for each Lost Boy in the movie; this is standard for a film, since some jackets would be used for closeups (the”hero” jackets) while others were used for stunts, and a few even have intentional holes in them for harness rigging. Because of that and the thrifted nature of the jacket, the Marko jackets for the film all differ slightly in the placement of the tapestries and patches.
There are five tapestries in total. Three are velvet: the matador, the peacock, and the leopard with the messed up face. These are impossible to dupe via Spoonflower or Contrado (custom fabric printing websites) due to the fact that these three are essentially small rugs. The other two, chariot lady and cat lady, are dupable via Spoonflower or Contrado printing since they aren’t the same fabric as the others.
The two pin-up tapestries are nearly impossible to find, more so than the velvet ones. In my months of searching, I never found either pin-up tapestry, so I had them printed by Contrado, along with the collar trim.
If you go searching for the velvet tapestries, you'll notice that there are several different versions of each one, with slight changes in color and placement of things in the art. How accurate you want to be is up to you. My peacock and matador are accurate to the tapestries on one of the stunt jackets, whereas my leopard is the correct color but wrong direction. That's doesn't bother me much, personally, especially since the leopard is the hardest of the velvet tapestries to find by far.
Once the tapestries were acquired, I measured different sections based on the dimensions of the jacket, mapped it out using washi tape on the tapestries, and then cut them all out. There was a decent amount of math involved here, specifically regarding scaling the sections of tapestry down by a few inches since my jacket is smaller than the original. I then arranged them all onto the denim jacket and pinned them in place before hand sewing them (yes, you read that right; I hand sewed this whole thing) on in the correct overlap. I also added the rhinestones to the cat lady.
I recommend using embroidery needles and upholstery thread to attach the tapestries to the jacket, due to the thickness and the weight. I also sewed along the designs in the tapestries themselves to better hide the stitching within the image.
Part 3: The Patches
Marko’s jacket has a total of 26 different patches on it, most of which are motorcycle or punk themed. For these, I found a seller on Etsy who makes 24 of them, and I used Contrado to print the remaining two (the anarchy symbol and the large skull) on canvas and added the stitching. You could thrift and find the patches as well, but here's the thing: while some of these patches are pretty easy to find, others seem to be nonexistent, to the point that I wonder if some were made exclusively for the movie. That's why I went and purchased my patches instead of hunting them down. My personal favorite is the “Screw U” one. One fun fact about the patches is that the large winged skull on the back is a leftover from the movie “The Warriors”.
I once again hand sewed these all on as per the references from the movie. You might think that ironing the patches on is an easier method, but there's a few reasons why that won't work: 1) the patches in the movie are sewn on; if you zoom in, you can see the stitching 2) I'm not sure the patches would even adhere to the velvet and velour of the tapestries and 3) if you decide you don't like the placement of a patch that you sewed on, you can just seam rip the stitching and adjust it, which you can't really do as cleanly with an ironed-on patch.
Part 4: The Tassels
The tassels on the jacket’s shoulder are not tassels at all; they’re squid skirts (a type of fishing lure), which is something I never knew existed until I started researching for this build. For these, I found a fishing tackle website that had the closest match to the colors I needed, a blue-grey/orange and a yellow/green. Both squids also have glitter and little eyes painted on.
Part 5: Weathering and Finishing Touches
Lastly, I weathered the jacket to give it that lived-in look. For the dirt/dust on the patches, I used powder eyeshadow. I also picked at the edges of the tapestries to fray them a bit. And to make the patches less stiff, I just broke the jacket in by wearing it around my house. The great thing about this jacket is that the more I wear it and the more it weathers, the better it'll look.
FAQ
How heavy and warm is the jacket?
The jacket is made of denim and rugs, so its pretty warm and heavy. It honestly feels like wearing a weighted blanket, which is a nice bonus if you're anxiety made flesh like I am. It makes a lot of sense for the jacket to be on the heavier side, because if you’ve been to Northern California, you know how cold it can get on the coast, especially at night (not sure if vampires can feel cold, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
How long did it take you to make the jacket?
I don’t time my cosplay builds, but I can guess based on the amount of TV/movies/podcasts/playlists consumed as I was working on it. I'm also pretty fast when it comes to hand sewing. By my estimation, the jacket took me about 45-50 hours of work, and that’s not counting the time I spent searching for the tapestries.
Can you make me one?
Sorry friend, I don't take commissions. Even if I did, there's no guarantee I could find the exact tapestries again. I appreciate the interest though!
One of the most useful resources for making this jacket is the Replica Prop Forum! There's a ton of information there, as well as discussions and troubleshooting about the construction of the jacket.
I hope you enjoyed this walkthrough of Marko's jacket! This was a fun build and I'm really proud of the finished product. I'm going to make the rest of Marko's outfit + wig to complete the cosplay, so stay tuned for that!
If you have any other questions, feel free to plop them in my inbox! In addition to tumblr, you can also find my cosplay work on instagram and bluesky @/marlequinncos

Took a shot at drawing the Stardew Valley bachelorettes!
Maybe I’ll do the bachelors, I’m not as confident with drawing guys though. I definitely have ideas for some of them…
Edit: I did it
Individual pics and thought process under the cut:
Made penny’s outfit a bit more teacher-like and gave her a big comfy cardigan because the girl needs something nice. Tried to make her a bit chunky to match what I imagine Pam’s body type would be, but she’s honestly so swallowed by the sweater her chub doesn’t really show through lol.
Probably wins for biggest change from canon, but she was my first spouse so she deserved something special, and the idea of hot pink bell bottom jeans was too good to pass up. Also added a bag for her camera, she may be a fashionista but she’s still practical.
Short queen.
Overall I just tried to make her look more like an inventor. So things like the motor oil stains and capped boots for safety, plus ample pockets for bolts and wires. Oh and I gave her more textured hair, though I tried to keep the overall square shape language it had originally.
Also her and Sebby both have dimples from Robin.
Probably the design Im least satisfied with. I knew I wanted Leah to be more butch from the start, but I do thing it strayed a bit far from her characterization, especially with her loved gifts suggesting she has a more lavish taste.
Gave her some gray streaks, implying that she got a bit worn down from city life. I also gave her a tattoo, I thought it fit her living in the city. I imagine a heart event would have her cover it up with something more naturey and personal.
My second wife! This one is pretty consistent with other designs I’ve seen, though I think I still added my own spin to it.
I personally don’t believe the wizard theory, so I made her natural hair match Pierre’s.
Also the scar isn’t from anything cool, I like to think she just tripped as a baby. But she’ll tell a different crazy story anytime someone asks.
I love how different the depictions of Emily are, I’ve seen them range from graceful crystal goddess to full on manic pixie dream girl. Obviously my version is closer to the latter, though I tried to balance that out with a sense of maturity, given her job as a bartender. I love her being a giant string bean, like she’s bent over in the pose so she doesn’t look too much taller than the others, but I imagine she’s like 6’ 1”. Also she has a gem bracelet, to symbolize all the rocks I gifted her.

❝when I look at you I see stars❞
✭ pairing : Hobie brown x reader
✭ fandom : spiderman into the spiderverse
✭ summary : (Y/n) and Hobie have been dating for a couple of months now and Hobie decided to take her to visit the spiderverse
✭ authors note : this fic is based off of this post by @pearlsinmyhair
✭ spiderman into the spiderverse masterlist
(Y/N) stood in her room, phone pressed against her ear as she chatted away with her friend. She absentmindedly painted her nails black, carefully adding white stars and other designs to create a punk-inspired manicure. It was a typical day for her, and she was used to Hobie's unconventional entrances. He was her boyfriend, after all, and his Spider-Punk persona was just part of the package.
As she chatted away, a familiar presence made itself known in her room. Hobie, or Spiderman as he liked to call himself, had arrived through a portal created by his trusty portal transmitter watch. He snuck up behind her, giving her a sweet little head kiss, interrupting her conversation.
Startled, (Y/N) turned around to face him, still holding the phone to her ear. She smiled at him, used to his surprise appearances. "Hey, darlin. What's up?" she asked nonchalantly.
Hobie grinned, his mischievous eyes sparkling. ”Aye, babe. I've got a little adventure planned for us," he said, his voice full of excitement.
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "An adventure, huh? What did you have in mind?"
Hobie's grin widened as he explained his plan. "I was thinking about taking you to the Spiderverse. You know, show you where I come from, the different versions of me. It'll be like a mini-vacation, just you and me."
(Y/N) paused, considering his proposal. She knew how much Hobie loved his rebellious antics, and the idea of exploring different dimensions did sound intriguing. However, she also knew the risks involved. Miguel, Hobie's mentor and the original Spiderman, had strict rules about not meddling with other universes. The only reason why she knew of it was because her boyfriend had a habit of ranting to her about how stuck up the man was.
Still, (Y/N) loved the thrill of adventure, and she couldn't resist the opportunity to spend time with Hobie. "Alright, darling. I’ll bite," she said with a smirk. "But you're gonna have to wait for my nails to dry and for me to change my clothes. Can't go on an adventure looking like this."
Hobie chuckled, his eyes shining with excitement. "Fair enough, my favorite girl. Take your time. I'll be right here, patiently waiting."
(Y/N) ended her call, put her phone down, and turned her attention back to Hobie. She leaned in, giving him a quick kiss before heading over to her dresser to pick out a new outfit. As she changed, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building within her. She knew that with Hobie, every adventure was bound to be unforgettable.
Once her nails were dry and she was ready, (Y/N) walked back to where Hobie was waiting. She took his hand, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Alright, Spiderman. Lead the way. Let's see what this Spiderverse is all about."
Hobie grinned, activating his portal transmitter watch once again. With a flash of light, the portal opened before them, revealing a multitude of dimensions waiting to be explored. Hand in hand, (Y/N) and Hobie stepped through, ready to embark on their thrilling adventure together.
Hobie and (Y/n) found themselves in the intricate web of the Spider-Verse, a multiverse that held countless adventures and perils. Hobie, always prepared for the unexpected, reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, glowing bracelet. Its design resembled a tiny punk-rock chain, adorned with a spider emblem.
He took (Y/n)'s wrist gently, helping her place the bracelet beside her beaded ones. The moment it clicked into place, the bracelet emitted a faint, soothing glow.
Hobie explained, his voice filled with a hint of mischief, "This is a day pass bracelet, babe. It's gonna help you stop glitching in the Spider-Verse. You know how chaotic this place can get."
(Y/n) eyed the bracelet curiously, then rewarded Hobie's thoughtfulness with a playful kiss on the chin. He grinned at her sweet gesture, his heart warmed by her affection.
Unable to resist the urge, Hobie leaned in and captured her lips in a tender kiss. It was a brief but passionate exchange, sealing their bond in the face of the unknown.
As they broke apart, Hobie took (Y/n)'s hand firmly in his own. He looked into her eyes with a determined expression. "Stay close to my side, okay?"
(Y/n) nodded, her playful smirk never leaving her face. "Yes, sir."
Hobie and (Y/n) ventured deeper into the Spider-Verse, where countless iterations of Spider-People swung through the cityscape and dimensions collided in a mesmerizing symphony of chaos and order. Hobie led the way with confidence, and (Y/n) stuck close to his side as he explained various aspects of this peculiar realm.
He gestured to a bustling building with a neon sign that read "Spider Cafe." "This is the cafeteria," he explained. "It's where all the many Spider-Men and Spider-Women meet up to refuel. There's something special about Spider Dave's donuts; he makes some of the best in the multiverse."
(Y/n)'s eyes sparkled with curiosity as she heard about Spider Dave's donuts. "Oh, I definitely want to try some of those," she exclaimed, her appetite piqued.
Hobie grinned at her enthusiasm, and they made their way into the bustling cafe. Inside, they were met with a diverse array of Spider-Folk, each from a different dimension, chatting and enjoying their meals.
The aroma of freshly baked donuts wafted through the air, enticing (Y/n) even more. Hobie led her to the counter, where a friendly, portly Spider-Man with a chef's hat greeted them.
"Hey, spiderman!" Spider Dave greeted, a warm smile on his face. "Who's your friend?"
Hobie introduced (Y/n) with a grin. "SpiderDave, this is (Y/n). She's new to the Spider-Verse, and she's dying to try your legendary donuts."
Spider Dave chuckled heartily. "Well, you've come to the right place, (Y/n)! What can I get you?"
(Y/n) peered into the glass display, her mouth watering at the sight of various donuts with spider-themed decorations. "I'll take a chocolate web-spin, please!"
Spider Dave swiftly boxed up a chocolate web-spin donut, handing it to (Y/n) with a flourish. She accepted it with a grin, her taste buds tingling in anticipation.
Hobie ordered his usual, a classic Spider-Punk blackberry donut, and soon they found a cozy corner to sit and enjoy their treats.
As (Y/n) took her first bite of the chocolate web-spin donut, her eyes widened in delight. It was everything Hobie had promised—soft, sweet, and utterly delicious.
Hobie leaned in, stealing a playful bite from her donut. "Told you it was worth it."
(Y/n) laughed, savoring the moment. As they enjoyed Spider Dave's donuts together, they knew that this adventure through the Spider-Verse was turning out to be as exhilarating and unforgettable as they had hoped.
With the taste of Spider Dave's donuts still lingering on their lips, Hobie and (Y/n) continued their tour through the bustling Spider-Verse. Hobie was an excellent tour guide, explaining the nuances of this unique realm with enthusiasm. (Y/n) couldn't help but be captivated by his passion and the vibrancy of the Spider-Verse.
As they strolled through the Spider-Verse cityscape, Hobie spotted familiar figures in the distance. Pavitr, Gwen, and Miles, his close friends and fellow Spider-People, were swinging their way toward them.
Hobie flashed a mischievous grin at (Y/n) and without warning, he scooped her up over his shoulder. She squealed in surprise, laughter bubbling out of her as they soared through the air. It was a thrilling ride that left her a giggling mess.
Upon landing gracefully, Hobie placed her down gently, and she wobbled a bit on her feet, still giddy from the experience.
Pavitr, Miles, and Gwen approached, their eyes widening in surprise at the sight of Hobie with a new face. Hobie, always one to keep things casual, introduced his friends to his girlfriend with a playful flair.
"Lads and gal, meet (Y/n)," he said with pride, a fond smile directed at her.
Pavitr and Miles immediately bombarded her with questions about her world and her journey into the Spider-Verse, their curiosity insatiable. Gwen, on the other hand, groaned and playfully pushed the boys away.
"Give the girl some space, you two. She's not here for an interrogation," Gwen scolded them, coming to (Y/n)'s defense.
(Y/n) couldn't help but chuckle at the camaraderie between the Spider-Friends. She introduced herself warmly, shaking hands with Gwen and sharing a knowing look, as if silently agreeing that boys could be quite the handful.
With the boys locked in their own animated conversation about various Spider-Verse shenanigans, (Y/n) and Gwen drifted off to the side, forming their own connection. As they chatted and shared stories, (Y/n) couldn’t help but feel a pair of eyes on her.
As (Y/n) and Gwen drifted away from the boys, engaged in their own conversation, Hobie couldn't help but steal a lingering glance at his girlfriend's departing figure. His eyes were drawn to her perky and perfectly sized rear, a sight that never failed to captivate him.
However, it wasn't just her lovely form that had captured his attention this time. It was the pair of jeans she was wearing, which were new to him. They were dark blue with vibrant red stars artfully embroidered on the backside.
Hobie couldn't contain his appreciation for the stylish choice she had made. Under his breath, he mumbled, "Damn."
Pavitr, who had been observing Hobie's expression with a raised eyebrow, turned to him and asked, "What's got you muttering, mate?"
Hobie couldn't help but grin mischievously, his eyes still locked on (Y/n) as she walked away. "I'm seein' stars here, mate."
Pavitr chuckled and shook his head, understanding the sentiment entirely. After all, in the Spider-Verse, where extraordinary sights and adventures awaited at every turn, sometimes it was the little things, like the sight of stars on your girlfriend's jeans, that left the biggest impression.
As (Y/n) continued her conversation with Gwen, she couldn't shake the feeling that someone's eyes were on her. It was a peculiar sensation, as if a pair of laser-focused eyes were burning into her, tracing her every move.
Unable to resist the urge, she subtly peeked over her shoulder, trying to pinpoint the source of this mysterious gaze. Her search led her to her boyfriend, Hobie, who had been a few paces behind her. His eyes were locked on her with an intensity that left her both flattered and amused.
With a playful scolding tone, she wagged a finger at him, "Eyes up here, pal," pointing towards her face to emphasize her point.
Hobie, his gaze reluctantly breaking away from her perky rear, looked up at her face. However, his expression quickly shifted from scolded to thoroughly impressed. (Y/n) had on a black coho top adorned with red stars on the breast part of her shirt, and it was a look that suited her perfectly.
"Damn," Hobie couldn't help but mutter under his breath, captivated by her style and beauty.
(Y/n) maintained her teasing tone, "Oh, no you don’t. You better not be getting any ideas, or I'm giving both these clothing pieces away."
Hobie couldn't resist a grin as he approached her, closing the gap between them. "But, babe, I love seeing your stars," he said with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
(Y/n) felt herself flush at his words, her playful scolding turning into bashful fluster. In the ever-chaotic and extraordinary Spider-Verse, Hobie's adoration for her was a constant source of warmth and comfort, and she couldn't help but be smitten by his charming antics.

Doodle World Awesome Squad from my Mind Palace 👾👾
Design Explanation Paragraphing under the cut !!!! Where I really talk about the how and why of it all ^<^
So excited to post this !! I do hope ye all like it, I was super excited seeing people like/reblog my last post as I've felt a little awkward posting Doodle World art just due to not knowing anyone else who played the game eeeekk.. BUT these are my 'headcannons', I guess you could call them; for the main Doodle World group !!!
> Suzie : The shortest of the group at 5'2"!! Due to the body type used for her in-game, I have always pictured her as being on the bigger side!! Her hair is like a Jellyfish cut, if you guys are familiar with that. Or.. well that's how I interpret what is happening. And I think she looks totally cutieful <3 I draw her with blue eyes for reasons unknown to myself, I have just always given her blue. Her pants are worn/faded at the knees and slightly frayed at the end. Her footwear is closer to boots than runners!! She is in-game, shown to be closer with the player, and that stays to be true in my version of them also.. I think they would have matching friendship bracelets...
> Quincy : Second tallest at 5'7.5" [didn't originally care about the .5, until it was a way to one up the player]. Got rid of those awful glasses he wears... please take them off Quincy.. gave him regular white frames specs instead!! He is a little blind. Also grey-ish eyes?? Again no reasoning. Is on the slimmer side in my mind, not much muscle, because I believe he was a sheltered, rich kid who didn't have to do much- until this adventure, of course. His outfit also doesn't make much sense for travel because well.. I don't think he really expected all this running around we have been doing. His shoes are bright white, and his jeans look brand new. His shirt is pressed !!! ..He has grown on me a lot I can't lie, I never disliked him, though.
> TJ : Tallest of the group!! 6'0"!! He has always just felt tall to me.. maybe that is crazy. He has wider shoulders that sort of replicate his in-game model, as opposed to Quincy, I do believe TJ has worked out/exercised at times :P His outfit is more relaxed, I debated with sweatpants for a while, I do think baggy jeans suit but either or make sense to me. The knees of his jeans are slightly worn, his hoodie is definitely bigg and comfy, and his shoes are definitely made for maximum comfort and running around. Hair change going off model simply because I like this style a lot more, and I think it suits him really well, and then brown eyes !! He also has thicker eyebrows than Suzie and Quincy, no major reason I just think thick eyebrows rock !!!1
And finally, not really necessary;
The Player! Or in this case
> Jay : Standing at 5'7" to replicate myself, Jay is a mix of me and my roblox avatar in looks. She has broader shoulders, which are very much hidden under the baggy hoodie. She also has thicker eyebrows, matching TJ. His outfit is similar to Quincy's on the pure coincide of that is what my avatar was wearing when I first joined Doodle World and finding it funny, I've kept the matching rival outfits since. Despite the similarity to Quincy's clothes, Jay's are very much perfect for this adventure (the main reason being the jumper shirt combo is fake!! It is one item of clothing... he has been lying to you). The jeans are baggy, worn, faded, and fraying in places- but the extra pockets really do come in handy at times. Also a glasses wearer!! As I'm very much far from 20/20 vision.. and of course; train track braces !!! Let's goo !!!!
Well, that has been an absolute ramble session !! I hope that made sense if you did read all that. I mainly just wanted to explain how I see the characters and my reasonings, if any.. behind why. Especially if I want to post more artwork of them all :D!!!

Cyberpunk! Bdubs and Impulse
So I had to look up lots of references to come up with these designs since I’m not at all use to drawing cyberpunk outfits. It’s actually a pretty cool type of fashion (with variations such as streetwear, video games, and runway)! There’s usually lots of loose layers (sometimes contrasted with tight layers), ponchos/rain gear, hoodies/coats, and geometric cuts of clothes +straps, pockets, gloves, and other accessories to cover the identity of the person. Of course there’s bits of technology/gadgets and neon pieces that are included and holographic things too. I definitely want to explore this aesthetic more in my art :3
As for Bdubs, he’s helping Impulse with the cyberpunk city but doesn’t have a skin for reference, so I tried to incorporate the white shirt, black pants, and mossy cape into his look + the digital clock on the sleeve and red elements as a nod to the red headband from other past skins
Impulse has a skin to work with, but I originally made a design without looking at references and wanted to redo it (also I realized I forgot his horns in the new design, so those are added below)
look at the difference! The first attempt felt less cohesive and clunky, but I did like the hologram tail tip and wings idea, so I’m using those for the future. I really like how his design turned out on the right, so that’s what I’ll be going with from now on (with minor adjustments maybe)
the horns are kind of like these ones
except I swear I’ve seen versions where they look for pointed like horns but for the life of me I couldn’t find a reference :/ (finding this is reminding me I need to watch neon genesis evangelion)
Also it seems like I will finally have to learn how to draw shoes :P they either are the star of the show or need to blend in with the outfit, and I’m not happy with my generic attempts at drawing them..

Hi, I'm back with another Post-Epilogue design, this time for Guy. I have to admit, I really struggled with this one. Guy's original design has such a clean but distinctive style to it that I just can't quite capture. At first I tried to do a 'work' outfit for when he gets hands-on with fon tech before switching to attempting a formal outfit. The casual jacket-off variation feels more like Guy than the full dressed one though...I'm not too satisfied with this one but there were several design points that I wanted to work in and did at the very least. Maybe I'll revisit this design again down the road.
Anyways, please see under the read more for more design details. !Warning for Spoilers!
-so post-epilogue, I imagine Guy becomes a 'rising star' in noble society after hitting it big by sinking all his wealth in fontech development which quickly became a booming industry in the post-Planet Storm world. All the other nobility are so impressed by Guy's rise in reputation/wealth/smart investment decisions but in reality it's largely just Guy being a really big fontech nerd like usual and funding everything that are really interesting to him and being an early investor. He spends more time than he likes having to attend parties and gatherings but he understands having and maintaining a reputation is important to assert his influence and opinions, especially after all the obstacles he faced getting back his title (I imagine he got judged a lot for his rappig caretaker job and such), plus he's so used to being a servant he doesn't act like most nobles. (He finally graduates from his job as Peony's Rappig Caretaker though.)
-the device in his suspender holster is a fonon counter, it can detect the type and concentration of fonons in the immediate area. (It's a useful tool plot-wise for this AU *winkwink* ) Normally Guy carries it when he's on site, observing fontech excavation, it's helpful for finding power cores.
-in the post-epilogue world, Guy's interest and knowledge about fontech makes him the greatest source of information in the party, in contrast to Jade being the authority on fonic sciences back when fonons were abundant
-I also imagine that many people are still reluctant to adopt fontech in their everyday lives/still stuck on losing the Score and fonic magic so there was not a lot of initial interest. It was also still quite a risk to invest in given a lot of advance tech had to rely on excavated machines from the Dawn Age. In contrast, replicas have no preconceptions about fontech and I imagine Guy helping fledgling replica communities get ahead by sharing and teaching them how to use simple fontech. Since philantrophy/altruism is also part of what nobility does, it makes the other nobles impressed as well.
-I went a little overboard with the gold cording but I really like the idea of the cording being a traditional style of Hod.
-the four leaf clover-like knot is a decorative knot called a mokkou musubi, it carries the meaning of 'perpetuation of one's descendants'. Pere tied it for him with that in mind to revive the House of Gardios.
-the pin brooch on his lapel is the same as the one Marybelle wears on her cravat. I like to think that it's their family crest. In the off-jacket version, Guy has a smaller pin on the collar.
-I really wanted to preserve the curved open window (?) that his vest has in his original design so I ended up putting it as an open back on his jacket
-I went through so many types of coat styles, from like caped trench coats to riding frocks but cycled back to keeping the single-tail back.
-the orange 'jacket' around his waist in the jacket-off version is actually his vest. And the cloth in his pocket is not the cravat from his full dressed version, but I can imagine a funny skit where everyone keeps thinking it is the cravat.

Finally went through the pictures I took a couple weeks ago for my Alice in Wonderland costume and I’ve very excited to share them!
I’ll admit that this isn’t the greatest costume I’ve ever made, but hey, it’s cute and iconic and good for frolicking.
I actually did a ton of research for this dress. I didn’t want to do a “historically accurate Alice” by any means, but I definitely wanted it to be historically informed at least. I looked at a bunch of images and drawings and extant dresses of little girls dresses from the 1850s and 60s (the book came out in 1865), and also went down a rabbit hole of looking at every illustrated edition of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland that I could. Fun fact I found: apparently the first in color version had Alice in yellow. But the blue dress is just so iconic, so I felt like I just had to go with that. The neckline ended up a little wide (I ended up taking it in a bit after taking these pictures) and the mix of dropped shoulders and puffed sleeves with that ended up reading more 1830s than 60s to my eyes, but it is what it is. The wide neckline, puffed sleeves, gathered bodice, buttons down the back, and tucks on the hem were all details from mid Victorian children’s clothes. I meant to do the skirt a lot shorter, around midi-length (still a little older than the seven and a half Alice is said to be in the books, more appropriate to a nine or ten year old), but the pinafore ended up longer than anticipated, so I made the skirt longer to preserve the amount I wanted showing, leaving them a smidge above the ankle and making my version of Alice closer to her early teens (which makes the more girlish details on the rest of the dress seem a little odd but oh well).
The pinafore of course was essential. I added little pockets to the front (mostly decorative, there are more practical pockets in the dress), and the trim is made up of lace and a layer of ruffled/pleated fabric (another fun fact: rather than gather it like a sane person, I instead decided to do about seven million incredibly tiny pleats. I regretted it. Quickly.). It was kind of inspired by the American Girl Kirsten’s’ birthday dress and pinafore, with the tapering in the back, and I added long ends to the waistband to tie in a big bow in the back. The shoulders on this were kind of wide as well, but it balances with the dress alright and I can tie it in a way that makes it a little better.
My other additions to this outfit were a couple of petticoats (one I already had with a ruffle on them hem, one I made for this with some narrow flounces by the hem, pantalettes with lace trim for that very iconic Victorian child look (except the skirt ended up too long so you can’t actually see them), black tights, and a hair bow. I debated for a while between black velvet (more like the original) or white (to preserve the contrast, since I have dark hair) and settled on a white ribbon from my (extensive) ribbon stash.
All in all, while this costume isn’t by favorite, it’s still pretty cute and comfy, and I’m pretty happy with it.

☆ the hawthorne brothers+ avery, max, libby, rebecca, and thea during the eras tour ☆
a/n: co-written by @nutellani and i. this was originally just going to be stored in my notes app because i had a big brain thought but then i decided that tumblr doesn't have enough tig content and i needed to help change that. i got stumped on a few things, so i of course asked my lovely mutual nova for some assistance <3 (tysm!!)
aaaanway, enough about that, here you go:
they obvi went to the concert in texas. they probably got tickets for both arlington and houston bc rich people yk
nash wore a sparkly cowboy hat and so did libby
(idc what you say, in my head, he likes glitter and i will stand on that hill)
in fact they all wore sparkly cowboy hats (xander forced grayson), but nash and libby's were matching
grayson ofc is wearing all black, very rep era but he's secretly a lover girl at heart. he also likes midnights because let's face it- who doesn't??
but everyone convinced him to get his jacket embroidered with "ts" and a few snakes along the sleeves and back to pull together the whole rep look
i don't think i finished talking about nash and libby?? anyway, matching sequin cowboy hats, nash wore a flannel with patches from different albums
him and libby spent a whole night designing it
libby wore a tee shirt from the midnights album
and the night before, nash and libby painted her favorite lyrics on some black cargo pants and some cute lil doodles
nash totally wrote N+L on one of the pockets inside a big red heart because i said so
very cute couple moment
thea is in her rep era because she's a badass so she wore all black with some maroon to make her outfit pop, she got her nails done and everything
girl was drop dead gorgeous
rebecca went with a more simplistic look, lavender flowly dress just under the knee, with a cardigan. yes, the cardigan. rebecca gives off very mellow and soft vibes so i think that's why she went with an evermore themed outfit
now, onto avery. i think her favorite albums is midnights and rep because of the vibe of the songs and overall it is just SO HER and i feel like she wore a shirt with the midnights album cover on it. she also wrote her favorite lyrics from the album on the front of the shirt with a fabric pen or something of the sort. i can also see her wearing a rep outfit too tho!! she is rich so since she could go to two concerts and wear both outfits ig lol
jameson is a total swiftie!! xander is too but we'll get to that next this boy would really like 1989 and a good handful of songs from lover because they remind him of avery
he would wear something 1989 themed but also something sorta flashy, i think
now moving onto max
she for sure loves the love triangle in folklore/evermore but also enjoys midnights
she radiates night owl energy because she'll stay up until 4am to finish a really good plot twisty dark romance novel and the whole track (midnights 3am edition) reminds her of her favorite ships. she makes edits and you can't convince me otherwise. although max does love evermore, she would totally love speak now era taylor and therefore would wear that really pretty purple sparky dress on the album cover!!
xander totally bought it for her
and with max looking like a literal princess, he would be mad blushing
and when he snaps out of his daze, he would tell her how pretty she is because let's face it- max is beautiful
now, as mentioned before, xander is a hardcore swiftie and i will always think this
he is a lover lover, so definitely went with a hat of the colors on the album
totally bitch-slapped toxic masculinity in the face by wearing pretty pastels
and definitely had the jacket from the yntcd MV!!
their favorite eras (and moments i suppose) on tour:
nash: debut, fearless
we love his nomad cowboy vibes
he also definitely vibes along with whatever libby likes too because he's down bad-
anyway
grayson: red
definitely shed a few tears during all too well ten minute version even though he tried to hide it
cus it reminded him of emily
i hate her with a passion
this isn't about her though
he loved the song and performance for 22 since he's in his 20's and his family is always telling him to loosen up
attending this concert definitely helped him
jameson: 1989
screaming along to style for sure!! me and nova were talking a bit about how he fits the description-
Exhibit A, "you got that James Dean daydream look in your eyes" is so him!!
Exhibit B, because i said so
me and nova totally weren't fangirling over this, i have no idea what you're talking about-
xander: lover
xander fs would start dancing with max and singing softly when taylor sang lover
and nash caught it all on camera
such a cute candid moment
i love xander+max with everything in me
libby: midnights
more specifically, WCS because she could relate to "give me back my girlhood, it was mine first"
fuck drake
i know that she wasn't a teen when they were in a relationship but she was still young, and he was toxic asf
aaaanyway, she would also love when tay performed vigilante shit
tay slayed so hard (i had to tell myself to turn down the gay because my mom and sister were at the concert with me lmao)
everyone felt things when taylor did that performance, to say the least
ik thea and practically everyone else would be in awe~
thea: reputation
would scream along to don't blame me
and she would sound amazing because there's nothing she can't do bffr
and rebecca would be like "damn how'd i get so lucky"
thea would also love karma from midnights because i feel like she's the type of person to not give af about other people and their opinions cus she knows that bad things are coming their way
"me and karma vibe like that" is so her
but she could also shit talk and stand her ground (and also fight)
i also think that that one part of don't blame me, "don't blame me, love made me crazy if it doesn't, you ain't doing it right" and "my drug is my baby" she would sing while making eye contact with rebecca
rebecca: evermore (and folklore obvi)
she would sing and sway softly and thea would take such a beautiful candid photo of her while she sings aksjaja
and when cardigan plays, she would grab thea's hand and dance with her, foreheads touching
this time, xander would take a photo of them like that and it becomes thea's homescreen
thea would also love champagne problems omfg-
rep gf x evermore gf is such a cute dynamic and they slayed so hard
and nowww avery: rep and also midnights!!
would love getaway car with a PASSION
it's just so her <33
"you were driving the getaway car" is very averyjameson even tho the rest of the lyrics aren't lol
she would love mastermind and especially the lyrics "you knew that im a mastermind and now you're mine"
and Paris!!
both songs are so averyjameson coded
"im so in love i might stop breathing drew a map on your bedroom ceiling" and "no i didn't see the news cause we were somewhere else" ajdjjahd
it's THEIR song and i will defend that till the day i die
bonus: i almost forgot to include oren and alisa, im so sorry, im very sleepy!! anyway, oren refuses to wear anything other than his usual attire meanwhile this concert is one ofbthe very few instances where you see alisa in casual clothes. not many people know (other than the hawthornes of course) that she's a swiftie because she always acts so professional. she wears that one red letters shirt that says "who's taylor swift, anyway? ew." and everyone does a double take cus she also has her hair down and doesn't look formal lmao. during some songs avery looks over her shoulder and swears she could see oren have the slightest smile and head-bumping along to the music.
to wrap it all up, they would ALL HAVE THE NUMBER 13 PAINTED ON THEIR HANDS IN DIFFERENT COLORS AND FONTS!!
and also a little extra because me and nova were having big brain moments and i HAVE to include it, it would be a crime if i didn't
They would all scream to paper rings but guess what else?? a PROPOSAL!!
my nashlibby brainrot needed to be included even more:
"i love shiny things but id marry you with paper rings" is so them because even tho they're rich, they value the little things <3
libby is so into the performance, it takes her a minute to realize that the stage screen is on her
she's confused because why would the cameras be on her??
and then taylor would point just behind her to where nash was on one knee
the ring wasn't shiny, it was literally a paper ring
nash didn't have a full on speech planned out
but of course libby would say yes
they kiss, it's on the big screen and everyone (taylor, backup dancers, everyone) cheers
it was caught on camera by practically everyone which leads to their engagement going viral all over tik tok and other media platforms!!
after the concert, back at Hawthorne House, they made a resin/epoxy(i think that's what it's called) mold to preserve the ring, and keep it from getting damaged
and the end because not only can i not think of anything else, but it's 4am while i save this to my drafts-
p.s. huge thank you again to @nutellani, you helped me with this so much when i was having a brain block. you have wonderful input, and i owe you big time!!
(majority of how we got more ideas was thru incoherent fangirling over taylor and tig haha)

Man, thinking about Dragonball's capsule tech, makes me wish Toriyama hadn't gone all powerscale-y on everything like he did. Like, even more than I already did.
I can imagine a version of the series where Bulma stays relevant, carrying around entire labs and workshops in her pocket, building weapons and augmentations for the group. Portable gravity rooms and exo-suits. Scouters for characters who can't sense ki. A version of the story where, like One Piece, Toriyama planned out the ending from the very start, and built consistently towards that with Buu, foreshadowing the whole time.
Like, I love Dragonball don't get me wrong, but it introduces some cool ideas and characters and then lets them stagnate. The original fighters from OG Dragonball should've been keeping up with the Saiyans to varying degrees. Bulma is Goku's first friend and now she's relegated to background support for the Saiyans, specifically Goku and Vegeta, most of the time. Gohan's missed potential as end of series protagonist stepping into Goku's shoes is well worn territory for a reason. Not that it's not good for Gohan as an individual that he got to retire from fighting and become a scholar, just that it's bad for the structure of the story as a whole that it gets set up that way, and then despite all the talk of passing the torch to future generations with Gohan, Goten, and Trunks, Goku and Vegeta swoop in at the last minute to steal the show, relatively speaking anyway, it's a long series, "last minute" is literal 10s of episodes.
Bulma and the earthlings, besides Mr. Satan, basically have no effect on the plot whatsoever after a certain point, but they should be getting transformations and new techniques too, always striving to keep up with Goku...until he's gone and then it becomes a way for them to carry on part of his legacy. Tien vs. Semi-Perfect Cell at least should serve as a wake up call and push the gang to catch up with all the Saiyans.
It even seems like he was setting something like that up in the Namek Saga by sending them all to King Kai's, where they too should be learning his techniques and catching up to Goku. Watching things unfold on Namek, maybe they adopt King Kai's techniques, and develop their own complimentary moves. Tien could improve the split-form technique and make it not divide his strength by modifying the Kaio-ken, as a literal off the top of my head idea.
Having them more or less be on Goku's level and STILL getting their shit kicked in by the androids, and having them play a greater role in the ensuing conflict would've made things that much more tense and dramatic. You could still have Tien's badass moment against Cell, a way to really hammer home how much danger they're all in if it's taking someone on par with Goku this much effort just to hold him in place and he's only in his SECOND form. It makes the Vegeta and Trunks leaving the hyperbolic time chamber all that much more a big deal because we're seeing just how much stronger than Super Saiyan the ascended form really is, by having the comparison to the fighters more or less on Goku's level.
Just...I dunno. I've looked for fanfics and fan comics that work to make Dragonball a little more cohesive and consistent, but I haven't really found anything.
Anyway, I digressed a lot here, my initial intent was to just talk about how fucking cool Capsule tech is, both conceptually, and in the ways that it could serve the worldbuilding and aesthetics if we were informed by the narrative of Bulma's loadout and limitations, make it more relevant to planning and fight strategy. Watching a reaction to Super, she pulls out a warehouse with a lab in it in Trunks' future and it got me thinking of how cool it'd be if she'd been able to do that sort of on the fly preparation on Namek y'know? Have someone who relies on tech rather than Ki to fight and get around factor into dealing with Frieza and his forces, outfitting Gohan and Krillin, and eventually Vegeta with armor and tools to help them overcome the power difference between them and Frieza's army, as an idea.

Well shit. It’s the last day of fall…
Since Reddit removed this for no reason, here’s a drawing of Greg I have when he’s Wirt’s age. I might not use him for anything but here’s some headcanons I have! Feel free to give out constructive criticism!
(They probably suck because I still jump from theory to theory on what the hell happened when they were in the unknown/the aftermath when they woke up almost drowning so bare with me…)
- He'd join his high school's marching band since/if Wirt never did. As you can see, I was in a middle of making his marching band outfit but it's kinda hard as l've never drawn one before and also half the fandom can't decide whether or not Wirt's costume was part of a marching band outfit or a WWIl nurse cape (I'm personally going with the nurse cape), so yeah.
- Wears Wirt's old pants. (assuming Wirt and Greg's Halloween outfits were recovered and dried off when they woke up in the hospital. Idk how 80's/ 90's hospitals work.)
- I also picture Greg being slightly taller than Wirt when he's a teenager, and Wirt's old pants are some of the only hand-me-down clothes that fit him. (P.S. I just realized I forgot to add pockets to the pants. I'll fix that later. In fact, I'll fix many things about the design later if I need too. I don't have my drawing computer with me at the moment but when I do I may digitized this drawing so it's easier to edit)
- Neck acquired
- Also tiger socks. (And I tried to make his sweater elephant colored! I was originally gonna make the stripes vertical but I thought that’d look too tacky…)
- Still uses his old handbag (I think that's a handbag) he used when he was a kid. He stores important stuff in there.
- He's matured greatly and has became more cautious of his surroundings after him and his brother's accidental visit into the unknown, but nevertheless is still a brave, optimistic child at heart. (I'm on the fence about the headcanon of Wirt and Greg going back to the unknown, as I'm unsure how that would work.)
- Kept his frog, Jason Funderburker but around this time develops more of a bittersweet relationship with him as frog live way shorter lives than humans, and along with Greg, Jason Funderburker too, is getting older, but at a much quicker pace.
- (Ending with a more lighthearted one) Greg is also very good with animals too! Both wild and domesticated. His classmates nickname him "Animal Whisperer" and there's a rumor about him being able to talk to animals.
P.S. Sorry for the rambling. I’m scared I’ll mess something up here and I’m also scared to post aged up versions of characters (this is my first time) for irrational af reasons and trivial yet private pieces of information on few know about…
So what do you guys think? I may do Wirt next. I picture him being some quirky English teacher when he grows up.

Nameless Bard Cosplay Breakdown
Why? Why not (I want to share my creation especially with seeing so many tiktok cosplays of them, but never any guides/posts about how people. did stuff for them /lh)
I..don't know how well screen-readers will handle such a long post. I hope it works out okay.
Note: final image does not have alt image text at the time of posting, but I intend to add it later on
add alt text to images (all minus final since that would be a picture from the morning of)
Cloak
This thing is LONG. I'm about 5'1/155 cm, and this thing goes down to my KNEES (& big hood too!)
The inside fabric is from old off-white/beige bedsheets, and the outside fabric was from joann's (link).
I used a pattern from Aliceincosplayland on Etsy (link) (note: you don't need to buy a pattern to make a cloak- I bought it because of the different options between the lengths & hood sizes) ; for mine, I used the knee-length pattern & the larger hood size.
The large covered hook & eye also from joann's (link).
POCKETS! There's 2 small pockets close to the edges, & a bigger one I added this year to fit things like my PDM, testing kit, battery pack, etc. The smaller pockets have wooden buttons & button holes, the bigger one has a snap w/ a wooden button hot-glued on top because I didn't wanna tinker with the button hole foot.
Windblume Flower
I forgot what I traced but I made patterns for the leaves and petals & used a tutorial to make the tassels with red embroidery thread.
It's made of felt, hot glue, and I hand-sewed some bits like the button in the middle. It's also removable & fastens via safety pin sewed into the back.
Shirt
I gotta be honest, I forgot to work on it and tried to finish it about a week before the con. It looked like it was going well, but little errors made it look not up to the standard I was holding myself to and I hated it. I didn't even add the finishing touches with the shirt's collar's closure, or the ruffles on the cuffs of the sleeves. Instead, I'm using the original shirt I got off amazon last year (link), which I'm glad I kept intact when trying t make the second version's pattern.
I wanted to make another variation that was closer to his canonical outfit and was not made out of that plasticky fabric material (not that it was uncomfy, I just thought it'd be better for a convention center with a lotta people). The arm holes were a bit too big, the neck hole was a bit snug, and I botched the collar almost entirely. Lesson learned, make mockups and do not procrastinate on your projects until the week before the event.
I have the picture of it in this post.
If it counts, last year I made a slight alteration to the original shirt in which I sewed part of the slit in the top so it didn't go as deep. That's about it, honestly.
Shorts
Honestly, these weren't too bad overall. I cut the triangle panels out of white fabric, used embroidery thread for the criss-cross bits, and hand-sewed said panels onto the shorts.
It's great 'cus it has pockets and it's adjustable with the drawstring on the inside.
Wig
This fucker (part 2)
I combined a wig off Amazon (link) with wefts from hair extensions (link; though it comes with two I used just under one weft for both briads) to get the general shape
I went into detail on how I redid it here (also where the pictures are) but to sum it up: washed out hairspray/gel from last year, trimmed & rebraided the longer strands, used hairspray to do the bangs & gel to fix the ends.
Belt
I had this old brown fabric from an old sewing class project that I used. I measured the length by putting the rest of the costume on and using a measuring tape, overlapping a little so there was room to add the snaps for a closure. I think I used the trim from an old bedsheet and put it on either of the longer ends, then painted it yellow to match the bard's. Semi-reliable snap closure sewn in later, then boom, belt!
Lyre Prop
I forgot what I traced to make this pattern too, but I made it out of felt, essentially a stuffed toy. The little bar bit at the top is a separate pattern piece, as I tried making it all into one and was unable to turn it inside out. I forgot what kind of cord/string I used for the lyre strings, I just remember using mod podge to stiffen it as a finishing touch.
I used it last year as a prop, but I ended up just carrying it around so it might be best to leave home unless you plan to take a lotta pictures.
Miscellaneous Parts
Corset Belt: bought off amazon (link) ; It's comfy for the most part. liked the idea of a faux corset as opposed to the vest
Boots: last year I used a different set of boots that I've had for years, this year I'm using slightly newer boots that I got off my brother since they're small on him. They're timberlands I think? A li'l bit of height, lace-up, slight heel, feels 3% more badass /j
Makeup: I... know very little about makeup. I highly doubt the bard used makeup back then (/j). With that in mind, I really just use black eyeshadow & an eyebrow brush to fill my brows in and that's it. I use an old eyeshadow palette, but I also have an eyeshadow stick from the dollar store that works if you wet it slightly (mostly because it's a year old and is dried out by now..probably).
Wisp Prop: Touched on in this post, I like to take along one of my wisp dolls- the second one I've ever made, specifically. Made with my own personal pattern, he's easy to tuck away into a smaller pocket with just his head sticking out. I'll never forget the excitement of the Bennett and Fischl cosplayers I ran into last year when I took the wisp out to show them. 100/10, easily my favorite prop. The only real change made to him is that he has glow in the dark paint on his eyes, which probably won't do much in a convention setting but I still think it's cool.
Sword Prop: Very unnecessary & impromptu, but also very fun. At last year's con there was a vendor selling foam game/anime weapons and I got a foam Freedom Sworn. At the time of writing this out, I'm unsure if I will be taking it with me this year or not, since I can't exactly store it under my cloak when I'm not holding it.
Final Reveal!

Jervis Tetch w/ Alternative S/O
I know he’s a bad person but I’ve kinda built this blog on bad ppl/villians
I don’t support his creepy ass relationship with his sister
He was a bit shocked at first
He expected his Alice (male or female) to look like
well
Alice!
Light colors, long blonde hair, subtle makeup
You certainly were not that
But he knew when he first saw you
mostly black clothes
face covered in bold make up, particularly the designs made from eyeliner
Your wild hair: one part the brightest red he’d ever seen and the other a pastel pink
Every step you took making countless chains, pins, rings, necklaces, earrings, and whatever other accessories you had clink together
But you were his personal Alice
And he needed to talk to you
To have you
He was surprised at how easily you spoke to him- most people found him rather odd
He knew many ppl in Gotham dressed like you, but they didn’t live in this part of the city
Maybe that’s why you were so friendly
Jervis and you can be odd together
Before he even had the chance to consider well he did think about it a bit hypnotizing you, he had already been asked to go to the local movie theater with you tonight
You told him it was a movie you’re sure he loved by his “vibe”
He didn’t fully get what you meant, but he was fairly certain it was a positive thing
Jervis was delighted you had already been thinking about him, much more so that you could pick up on his tastes so soon
He said yes, hopefully not too quickly for his dear
He had already decided you were more than his Alice, you were his soulmate, future spouse, his Y/N
He was so nervous getting ready that night
He knew you didn’t care he was the Mad Hatter, being as perfect as you are you had figured it out early in the conversation that morning
not exactly hard to figure it out since he had just fled the scene in his full outfit
But he was nervous about someone else telling that murderous Officer Gordon where you two were
He couldn’t have his last shot at love be stripped from him again
So he hypnotized hired some guards
Arriving at the theater, his breathe left his body when he saw you
You had on a white skirt, reminding him so much of the dress Alice wore in the original story
But you’d also made the outfit so very Y/N
A black T-Shirt torn into a crop top, safety pins attached across a rip on the shoulder, your make up featuring the same blue from the Disney version of the tale, black combat shoes, little designs painted on in white that he couldn’t discern yet, and black ribbon earring dangling from your earrings
And his favorite part, embroidered on the skirts hem, was many different things from the story: a pocket watch, a bottle with “drink me” written on it, mushrooms, the Cheshire Cat, and several other little details
Somehow he fell even more infatuated with you
If that was possible
Even though he could tell from your outfit, he was still giddy when you confirmed you’d be watching Alice in Wonderland that night
The night was wonderful and the two of you began your relationship very soon after
You did all the stuff he imagined for the relationship, with a slight twist
Tea parties were had with black dish ware instead of white
Instead of calling you darling you seemed to prefer “love from darkness”
Movie night tended to be horror movies
Or
of course
Alice in Wonderland
you were so perfect, you even helped get revenge on Jim Gordon, though you did talk Jervis out of the murder
No
his Y/N was to merciful & sweet to kill
You just had the beautifully cruel plan to turn those close to him into his enemies
With a little hypnosis here, a little of you playing an innocent shoulder to talk to, and a little help from others Gordon wronged, you two had managed to leave Jim with no one to love him
Jervis couldn’t be prouder of his vengeful Angel
And you did it all just for him? Someone call the church bc I hear wedding bells
The 2 of you introduced each other to new bands and artist to listen to
Jervis even hypnotized convinced one of your favorite artist to give you a private concert on your birthday
Oh, and there is one more thing he LOVED about having an alternative partner
The hair
No matter what you did to it
Shave it? How wonderfully easier it is to see your face and the artistic make up you apply
Dye it? How many colors? What a surprisingly brilliant color combination! He’d of never thought those shades could look so perfect together
Any hairstyle you try has him giddy
And he LOVES when you ask him for help with your appearance; clothes, hair, accessories, makeup, all of it
Eventually he works up the courage to ask you to style him one day
It’s the best idea he’s ever had
It make his Dark Love so happy, practically skipping as you dragged him to your bedroom
Combining some of his clothes, some of yours, and making a small list of things you’d want to buy him to complete the outfit
You were absolutely radiant
He particularly enjoyed how close you got to him while doing his make up
Jervis only got nervous at the hair part of it all
He trusts his Y/N, of course, you always had his best interest in mind
But he didn’t know if he could rock outgoing hair like you could
So he created a compromise
No cutting, and only spray on or pastels could be used to color his hair
You happily agreed, and once you were done, Jervis was surprised at how much he fit the style
So much so he actually let you buy real hair dye
You began to give him trims, and later full hair cuts
The two of you working together became Gotham’s number one power couple
Any one who got in the way or gave you a funny look was hypnotized and had their dirty laundry aired to all
Occasionally the ppl who said especially rude things to you mysteriously vanished
But Jervis Tetch denied any involvement
I mean, all he did was swing a pocket watch at someone
If they happen to get the urge to kill the idiot who had the audacity to insult his Angel
that’s on them

Candy Puff - Bow Boys
Welcome figthusiasts to a tour of the Candy Puff Junzhe sets! I'll post each of these 3 sets over the next few days.
These figs are part of a 6 set series of blind box figs - 3 sets of paired Wenzhou figs and 3 sets of paired Junzhe figs, for 12 individual figs. I posted about one of the Wenzhou fig sets already, but that was way back in December!
The Candy Puff name refers to the original group name, although some people refer to these as the Blind Box figs or the 700 yuan figs (roughly $100 USD), since that's how much an entire set cost. The sets were only true blind box style if you bought single boxes - otherwise, you could buy full sets of Gong Jun figs, Zhang Zhehan figs, or of course the whole set. You could not buy just Wenzhou or Junzhe figs, even though that's actually how the sets go together.
Case in point - these two boys wearing bows!
You've seen Junjun in a box in this Ball and You post before, but just to recap, the inspiration for this fig is him in a bear costume on his show Begin Again.
This is the first time I've posted about this rickrack suit of Zhehan's however (although it won't be the last, I have a fig on order with this right now!):
Those actually aren't cat ears OR a bow in his hair, it's just the logo behind him! But it is cute enough to inspire many cat images or, say, a fig!
And here's the full pic!
I really like the teddy bear log on the box, it's adorable - but not as adorable as Junjun! The pose with his hands up to his face, like in the inspiration pic, is too cute for words. The fig maker also did an excellent job on Zhehan's expression and pose, it's so great! I will also note they did a good job on a very complicated outfit of his.
You'll also note that none of these figs have their distinctive moles on their faces...for whatever reason this fig maker didn't include them. My guess is that they wanted to focus the attention on the faces and expressions.
You'll notice Zhehan hopped up on a fig stand for these photos - he doesn't actually stand up on his own. I only managed to get him standing alone in the previous pic by angling the paper behind him just right to kind of prop him up. His tiny little feet are too small to hold up all that massive amount of cuteness and a big ol' bow!
Hehe, their bows are so big they take up an enormous amount of photo real estate!
Their bows are just perched cutely up there on their heads. It's very very clever to think of matching Junjun's bow with this image, this fig maker was very inspired.
Ah adorable. Simple hair on Zhehan but done really well. I know Junjun's box looks a little bit misshapen here, but it's not, it's just the angle I was taking the photo at.
The box is looking a little more appropriately even here!
Annnnd that poor box is back to looking a little off. Well, amateur photography is just that, unfortunately!
You can see from the bottom view Zhehan's tiny little feet and also some of the texturing on his pockets. I actually don't put the box on a fig stand - it's one of the few figs that truly does not need it.
I wanted to take a pic so you could see that Junjun is actually fully standing up in the box, but it's a little hard to see from this angle.
There we go! That's a little better. It's such a cute touch that I couldn't resist sharing it!
And here's the bows in all their glory!
One last pic of the two Junjuns-in-a-box figs that I have so that you can see the difference between the two. Ball and You's version is much smaller (and rounder!) and with a different pose. Both of them are super cute!
The boxes for all these figs are the same, since they're meant to be blind boxes, so here you go - there's one set for each of them, and they include both Junzhe and Wenzhou.
Yep, you're getting a preview of tomorrow and the next day's figs! Come on down tomorrow for the next set!
Material: PVC
Fig Count: 246
Scene Count: 18
Rating: Beautiful bows and beautiful boys

Pokémon Pocket Monsters XY Volume 1 - Chapter 3
Clefairy is eager to lose weight. But to do so, he must contend with a cursed mat that refuses to let him perform exercises.
Things are starting to pick up with this chapter. For one, Red is back to training as he has an incentive to do so. He's been slacking off a lot in this saga, so a bit of training is definitely in order.
When it comes to characters, there's a few things I have to say about them.
After being given a small role in the last chapter, Green finally gets some time in the spotlight. Surprisingly, he's not as much of an antagonist as he was in the past. He gives Red the drive to take his training more seriously and comes in near the end to help out Clefairy. If this had happened in an earlier series, Green would just leave Red in the dust to train himself and Charizard. The comradery given by Green in this chapter shows that the rivalry between him and Red has decreased to a point where they can just support each other as friends.
Speaking of Charizard, where is he?
He's supposed to be Green's partner and did everything with him. But in this saga, he's just not here. Anakubo might be saving Charizard's return for when or after he introduces Mega Evolution. But it's still weird how he's not present despite always being around Green in prior appearances.
I also think that Green's outfit is a bit off compared to his appearance before this chapter.
Green returned in Pokémon Pocket Monsters BW where he has a similar outfit the original series rival wears in Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Anakubo had a new design for this old character and threw it out the second he returns to the manga as a main character. I don't know why Anakubo didn't keep Green's new design. I thought it brought a breath of fresh air to the manga and showed how much Green had improved after he and Red went their separate ways.
The only other character in this chapter is Throh. But he's anything but new. He's a coach who's serious about making people and Pokémon stick to their workout routines. Granted, the Throh in this chapter has a lot more character than the Throh from "Showdown For The Fighting Pokémon?!" from Pokémon Pocket Monsters BW. But his appearance here is still unnecessary.
Throh's role could have easily been handled by another Pokémon from the X and Y versions. Hawlucha would have been a perfect candidate given how it's also a Fighting type. Why did Anakubo choose to give us stale leftovers from the previous saga instead of writing for new Pokémon species from the latest generation? There hasn't been one new Pokémon in the manga since chapter 1. In other series, we would've seen a new Pokémon with each new chapter.
I also think Anakubo missed a big opportunity to adapt the Super Training mechanic from the games. The balloon Pokémon's rubbery bodies would have made for great slapstick material, and it would have at least made the manga more in line with the XY series. But instead of that, we get a cursed mat.
Despite how critical I've been to this chapter, it proves to be a bit better than the previous ones due to feeling like an actual story. There's a real problem our heroes have to deal with, and the goal is reached right near the end. The action also brings some excitement and narrative to the story and avoids having Red and the others clowning around for 14 pages. It's not the best chapter of Pokémon Pocket Monsters XY or even the worst. It's a decent read for anyone who wants to see old characters like Green show up.
