New stuff
So you may have noticed, if you're a long time follower of this blog, that there have been some changes to it. For starters, an actual profile picture. Yes I have finally upgraded to an actual profile pic rather than the default tumblr one, and it's actually made on picrew. No I don't remember which one but if anyone does I'll mention it and give credit to both the person who made the one I made this picrew on and the person who figured it out.
Next on our list is why I'm now using on my main a username I used for my side blog. Well for starters, this is something I've been meaning to do for awhile now. I've been wanting to rebrand so to speak for at least a couple months or so maybe. Idk how long but it has been awhile. So this was really a long time coming.
What else should I mention? Don't be afraid to ask any questions you have for me and/or Kitty, I might not always be on so bear with me, I have way too many ideas to count, check out my other social media which will be listed below. I can't think of anything else, but if you want me to mention something let me know.
Have fun, and yeah make sure to check in to see what all I've posted if anything.
Tumblr: you are here. Congrats!

AO3: Wouldn't be surprised if at this point I need to start over with the account making process since I haven't been on it for awhile, but I'll post here a link when I have one. Update here's the link, and yes it's supposed to be blank too as of making this: https://archiveofourown.org/users/treehouse_void
YouTube: There's nothing on it but if for whatever reason you want it here you go: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF4iE78hN0Se9us5sTrL3AQ

Hello, page visitor. If you'd like to, please read this intro post. (And if you don't want to, that's fine, too)
(i promised myself that after posting 10+ posts I will create an intro post idk why. Guys. Is this how tumblr works?)
!! These are always open
Unless stated otherwise. But this does not mean I will do/go along with everything.
Asks/Submissions (you can also ask and submit anonymously)
Art Suggestions
Art Trades (preferably by moots/friends)
☆Accounts
2nd page: @dsevalyappuccino (for shitposts, reblogging, yapping, and lowres doodles)
Twitter acc: @/dsevalxdsx (there is actually nothing here, but it is open for DMs)
AO3: dseval (there is actually only one fic, don't expect anything in the near future)
Bluesky: dseval.bsky.social (not really active, but I post there sometimes, and I accept DMs)
For commissions and inquiries, feel free to message me anywhere or email [email protected]
☆General Info
✧ I am Dseval. (Pronounced dee-s-eval eval like in the word evaluation.) If you feel like it isn't a cute/short enough name for you— then you can call me Eva. Or call me whatever, I'll tell you If I dislike it.
✧ I draw. Occasionally I also code, make games. I also write fanfics (barely), and make music (barely).
✧ I won't reveal my age, but know that I am not a minor.
✧ I'm Queer. I'm okay with all pronouns, but They/Them is my personal favourite.
✧ I am not open for any relationships, in case you plan on asking.
✧ I am okay with dark topics, I love exploring them, but I do prefer wholesome things.
✧ I'm shy. As in, ☆super shy☆. So I may not post often and chicken out of conversations. Please do not be offended If I did that, you did nothing wrong.
✧ I did say I'm shy. But I also over-yap. I like friends. I'm accepting friends anytime anyday. On the topic of over-yap, I apologize If I ever said something that offended anyone. I am not very great at socializing.
✧ I also don't understand tone tags. So i apologise if I'm slow to get things.
✧ NSFW or suggestive is okay. But I don't really make these contents myself.
✧ I am OK with tagging. In fact, tag me in everything.
✧ Most of the time, I act on absolutely no reason and just because. Do not overthink my actions.
✧ My favourite color is PURPLE, in case you can't tell.
☆ Expect:
Expect mostly Undertale Multiverse content, but to be more specific...
Drawings of Sans AUs
Sanshipping
Genderbending Sans AUs
Making my own AU (not speedrun)
Maybe other things, a list cannot list all of my interests
... All in my inconsistent artstyle.
However, feel free to also talk to me about Deltarune, My Little Pony, Evangelion, and Madoka Magica, and several gacha games. I am very deep into the lore of all of the above.
☆Interests
My favourite AU Sans' are Cross and Dust/Murder. (I also think they should kiss)
I am a multishipper, and my bar is very low so I swallow pretty much any content just as long as it is appropriate. Here are my favourites though:
☆ Cross x Dust, Cross x Dream, Color x Killer, Nightmare x Error, Horror x Farm, Geno x Reaper
I absolutely eat those up, so if you know me and you know about these, please tag me in any related content.
☆If...
Do not interact with me If you are any of the following:
You are a proshipper/comshipper/darkshipper (or, whatever name you call yourself). I do not support that behaviour nor do I do condone it.
You are pro-Israel, Queerphobic, body shamers, pedophiles, zoophiles, etc.
You spread hate and harassment.
☆Tags
#archiveverse (for my AU)
#dsevalanswers (for every asks that I answer)
#kebaya skellies (for every drawing of any skeleton in kebaya)

tag game ✨
@mbjw saved me from saturday boredom and tagged me in this, so thank you jubs, i enjoyed these a lot.
1. why did you choose your url?
i love khaotung. khaotung was obsessed with the capybara song last year before i even knew who he was. capybaras happen to be a very common animal in the region i live. i was very happy they were getting the recognition they deserved. put them together, we have lovely khao + capybaras = khaopybara (i'm also super sure i've seen people here and on tw use this and i just stole it. i'm not creative especially when it comes to usernames).
2. any sideblogs? if you have them name them and why you have them.
i have two other sideblogs. @tuseryoo for all of the gifs i make so i can have all of them in one blog just because, so i feel like i'm not losing track of the things i create (even though i haven't updated that one in a while), and @captain-xandis that some moots might have noticed in their notifications bc i recently created that one to post gifs about critical role, but i always forget to check which blog appears on top of the thingy, so i'm constantly deleting and reblogging things in the right blog these days.
3. how long have you been on tumblr?
as of july 3rd, i've been here for 11 years now, so since 2013? which tracks with my super strong k-pop phase tbh.
4. do you have a queue tag?
nah, i have a queue going for gifs that are requests or for episodes that already aired, but usually i just post things whenever.
5. why did you start your blog in the first place?
ha, i was into super junior. and i was experimenting with fandom for the first time at the time. that's it. i felt like tumblr was a lot more creative and pretty than twitter or facebook, so i stayed.
6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?
i am a mook defender and apologist. i also think aya is super cute and super pretty. i change icons so often though, i blame all the pretty women in qls these days for making me change it all the time.
7. why did you choose your header?
i am breathing and living for the heart killers and kantbison and unfortunately i'm dying from lack of content. the tattoo table kiss is going to change lives i think, so until we don't get the official version, i'll have this masterpiece displayed there somehow.
8. what’s your post with the most notes?
as of now, it's a 23.5 official trailer gifset of sun being jealous of ongsa with amazing 939 notes, but the gifset of lada protecting earn from hitting her head on the table is quickly catching up with 877.
9. how many mutuals do you have?
17 mutuals? i think that's right.
10. how many followers do you have?
843 if you count the main blog + side-blogs.
11. how many people do you follow?
... 27 blogs.
12. have you ever made a shitpost?
i mean, sure? i do get embarrassed by my own shitposts sometimes and i delete them tho.
13. how often do you use tumblr each day?
all the time. it's my favorite social media for sure. i get to see pretty things and my dash is much better curated than other apps. it's great.
14. did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?
i don't think i ever fought online. i block people with remarkable expedience tbh if i don't like their vibe or their tone or the shit they post, and i also make use of the filtered tags, so you know, no reason to fight.
15. how do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts
these exist? good for them. you shouldn't tell people what to do.
16. do you like tag games?
sure! i only started being part of them now, so sometimes i forget them, or i just don't see i was tagged, but i do enjoy them.
17. do you like ask games?
i don't think i've ever done an ask game but that's mainly bc i think people won't want to know and won't send any asks, and i'd rather spare my ego from that humiliation.
18. which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
i think many of my mutuals are famous in our ql bubble which makes it a little crazy that some are my mutuals tbh. that's most of them actually.
19. do you have a crush on a mutual?
i do have people that make me kick my feet when they interact with my posts like, twirling my hair, silly smile, giggling because they've noticed me. but actually crushing, imagining our lives in the countryside, with a kitchen facing the meadow in a fine spring morning, with two dogs and three cats, no.
20. tags?
i'm tagging @namtanfilm, @aylinaliens, @sollucets and @sherrymagic, @ayansukkhaphisit and whoever feels like doing it, and to those i've tagged, just ignore this if you want, too, no pressure.

i've told parts of this story before, but bare with me, i'm emotional.
so like, i've had this blog since 2021. my original tumblr blog (made in 2011 iirc) was nuked in 2018 for exactly the reason you think (nsfw ban) and i didn't return for a handful of years because it stung so bad. even when i did, i mostly used twitter.
i started posting to tumblr more regularly when musk's twitter takeover finally pissed me off enough to ditch it. (i have since gone back, sort of, but am not reliably present and mostly just rt art people send me.) i've been pretty consistently here since then, sans a very angry break when all the shit with automattic's CEO happened.
and like... looking through my archives... i only made a dedicated tag for asks last july, even though i've been using an organizational tag system since i made this blog. that's how infrequent they were. my art usually got between 0 and 3 notes. when i left briefly back in january, i deleted every post in my art tag because i didn't want to leave my work here, but also, like... the only things that went anywhere were some of my mgs fanarts. no one owes anyone's work attention, but it didn't feel worth it, you know? like why share it with the public when i can just show it to the like 3 friends i know who care?
i came back partially because i felt... isolated. i have friends on the fediverse and on discord, but tumblr gave me a sense of being in a community, even if i didn't feel like an important part of said community. i missed queuing funny posts to enjoy weeks later, i missed being kept sort of in-the-loop about fandom goings-on, i missed my friends who were still here. (and that last one is also part of why i check twitter more now.)
but that alone wasn't enough, because i was a nobody here and it probably wasn't worth it to try again. but then devot and i started watching dungeon meshi, and i got into chilaios just like i thought i would, and tumblr has the largest concentration of chilaios fanart and posts. not only that, but every post i saw in the tag had so much engagement! i didn't see a single one that went unnoticed, back in february. so i hesitantly came back. i started reblogging chilaios posts. i didn't intend to try and break into the space because i knew it'd just hurt if i went unnoticed again, like i did in other fandoms.
but i made friends, little by little. i started a fanfic. i cautiously began posting my art again. i started writing meta, and shitposts, and replying on other people's posts, and commenting on other people's fics, and now...
that ask tag i mentioned? there are 15 pages of posts with that tag on my blog. only 2 and a half of those pages are asks from before i got into dunmeshi. people talk to me--they care about my thoughts and my opinions, they compliment the things i make. i have a group of like, 30+ people i interact with regularly, many of which i now consider close friends. everything i post gets some attention, no matter what it is.
this isn't a humblebrag, it's just... a thank you. i can't really properly express the depths of the loneliness i've felt in the past. i was an outcast for a long time, and it was way worse pre-2019, but i don't think it's ever fully left me. i've been hurt very, very badly in the past, and i've been abandoned a lot, and i've been ostracized a lot. i've grown into who i am today both in spite of and because of all i've been through, and for that i wouldn't ever change it, but it was still hard.
so today, as i turn 29, seeing asks and gifts pour in to tell me happy birthday, and that i'm appreciated... just, thank you.
if there's one thing you can give me today, it's this: reblog someone's art or writing or meta with some enthusiastic tags. send someone a friendly ask. reply to someone's post to comment on something they've said. write comments on ao3 for the fics that move you, no matter how much or how little you can think of to say.
this is going to sound cheesy as hell, but i genuinely mean it: reach out, and spread joy, whenever and wherever you can. you never know who's in pain, who's lonely or who feels worthless. and if it's you who feels that way, do what you can anyway; a community that isn't afraid to reach out will reach back to you, too. and you're not alone. i care, i promise--and more people than you realize do too.
it's so easy to underestimate how much a kind word can do. they add up, though. so keep going.

🥺🥺🥺 not 2 be sappy on main but omg I actually started off in Deviantart ages ago, that was the closest thing to social media for me until the tumblr migration lol. But I never really interacted with people on there, and even upon moving to tumblr, never really interacted with people here too often either. At first I had my main blog which was meant to be more professional since I was selling art to get a little college income, so I didn't really make too many irrelevant posts. Then I decided that I wanted to be able to reblog art and support other artists, so I made a side blog where I carefully curated and tagged the posts I reblogged. I made a few original posts but no one ever interacted, and eventually I realized that people only ever sent me asks there if I tagged anything wrong. Also I found out that adding stuff like series and character tags to a reblog on tumblr is basically useless because the op will pretty much always tag those things which makes it searchable on your own blog even if you don't tag it yourself. And if op DIDN'T tag it those things, your tags will make the post searchable on your blog but NOT in the general search, so it doesn't give op any more of a boost than just reblogging it tagless. So I made another sideblog, which I still have today, and I just rapidfire reblog literally anything I find shareworthy lol. Not any interaction there but at least I'm not wasting my time meticulously tagging strangers posts hsfjdlshfks. Since I was best friends with a big name fan in my main fandom (we became friends when I left a long emotional comment on their fanfic btw <3), I helped run some small fandom events and met more people as well. When I switched fandoms, it was a fandom event that gave me a new friend too, my posts never got any traction. Large fandom discords didn't really work for me either. But on this blog I was lucky, and for the first time people started like actually responding to my comments and posts, and get conversations going! And genuinely that's what's kept my brain rot so powerful I think, because bouncing ideas off each other and joking around and shitposting is genuinely the most fun I've ever had online!! I have to thank desta and oatmeal for the fun times especially, and hillbilly---man left really nice comments on my first few fics that really encouraged me, and I always have fun trading ideas with alienn, saikikthoughts, and crookedlyinnernightmare, plus everyone else who's on here, that's too many people to type out. AND I TYPED UP A BUNCH MORE STUFF BUT TUMBLR FUCKING DELETED IT!! Are you shitting me.... Well I think I remember saying that even if it's been getting kinda quiet and boring lately so my attention is starting to wander (I've pretty much posted all of the meta that's not deep fanfic hc at this point and my drawings take me a long time to make), I'll never delete this blog and I'll still be putzing around online until the day I die probably. And I'll always remember these days fondly and hope to find another great community like this one. And also I highly encourage everyone to post, reply, interact, and play with fellow fans! I've made lifelong friendships over blorbos and even if we don't have the same blorbos any more, we're still friends. Obviously stay safe online, never send money to strangers, probably wait like a year to start shipping each other stuff but still, reach out because you never know who you might meet! I've been lonely irl for most of my life for various reasons, and my online friends have been a lifeline honestly, they're all really important to me. Two of my best friends today come from fanfic comment sections!! Also I need to get around to archiving my meta on AO3 lol (yup, it's for meta too!) but that's gonna be a lot of work so -_-U).
#notes to nopsi#🥺thank u for making an old blogger like me emotional at 7 am#even if tumblr fucking pissed me off by deleting half the post#Also I appreciate the 'hate' anons because even though it must have been super embarrassing for them#it was fun to do some more analysis on a topic I usually don't think about <3

what (human) social media do you think the hexaquad uses/is on. Because personally I think Luz is weird and bi enough that she would use tumblr and completely commit to the goncharov bit
Luz absolutely uses tumblr as her primary socmed and she has an intimate relationship with the nature of its insanity. She's the one the others ask when they stumble across an utterly incomprehensible meme and Luz will be like "Okay so basically the origin of eeby deeby is--"
She has two blogs. One for art and one for reblogs/fandom/shitposting. She used to have a twitter but she deleted it some time during the Thanks to Them montage because she was dealing with too much bullshit to tolerate the cesspool. She has an Instagram that she uses exclusively for posting art.
Oh and ao3. How could I forget ao3?
I feel like Amity is completely uninterested in human social media. Out of all the kids, she's the only one who didn't really find a specific hobby/interest during her time in gravesfield. She's already got a pensta and she likes how it's tailored for witch society. She'd have no interest in Instagram or twitter or shit like that. BUT she would absolutely go apeshit once she discovers the Good Witch Azura fandom in the Human Realm. (Literally NOBODY back home even knew what those books were.) She doesn't understand the memes and shitposts or general culture but Amity would absolutely have a fandom specific tumblr. She mostly just reblogs from Luz. An ao3 too of course <3
Willow used pensta for general teen reasons like selfies and socializing with her friends before she came to Gravesfield but now that she's developed an interest in photography? Oh that girl's account is gonna get such a glo up. She'd have an Instagram too. She actually becomes pretty popular on both accounts. Not ✨️Influencer✨️ status but she's gained quite a following of humans and witches alike.
I like to imagine that she also has a Pinterest. Idk she strikes me as somebody who'd enjoy collecting aesthetic pics and making boards. For the same reason she also has a tumblr that's mostly aesthetic with the occasional feral little reblog like this thrown in
Gus is a tiktok kid!!! Gus is SUCH a tiktok kid!!! I could also see him having a YouTube channel where he posts deranged little vlogs (in this universe Gus13 does not exist or its after it happened and only adds more fuel to the fire.) A twitch too maybe?? I could see him streaming. Basically I just think Gus would be drawn to all the video-focused social media.
I think he'd have a twitter too where he tweets his insane little thoughts and it actually blows up in popularity because people think it's a parody account.
Also....he would read Wikipedia religiously and eventually get banned from making his own edits.
Ok ok ok ok I think it would be so funny if Hunter got his penstagram account back in ASIAS, got so excited about finally having a regular teen experience but after a year or so once he's become well acquainted with pensta culture he's like "Well. This sucks."
So basically
Back when Hunter got a scroll, he followed Willow and that was that. He never followed anyone else. He has never posted anything. He can't even be convinced to follow any more of his friends. Not even Gus. He has notifications on for when Willow posts. He pops in to like them and then he fucks off again. People have forgotten that Hunter even has an account.
But when it comes to human socmed OHHHHH....
I want to say he has a devianart. But I'm not sure because I'm pretty sure that devianart is a husk of its former self. So he probably just has a tumblr. Hunter has not yet learned that you can make seperate blogs for all your different interests so his blog is a cluttered mess of his whole autistic self Cosmic Frontier brainrot, wolves, anime, the occasional embroidery pics that Willow tags him in.
Also he would be on neopets.
BONUS CHARACTERS:
Camila is on Facebook and Instagram. Also after the events of the series she gradually begins to rediscover the Cosmic Frontier message boards she used to frequent back when Manny was still alive. They brought back memories of her grief for the longest time but she's beginning to once again embrace her love for the series. She's even reconnected with some old online friends <3
Vee would have all the Normal Human Teenage Girl Social Media. She mostly uses twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. She also stays active on Facebook just to like her mom's posts.
Mattholomule would use reddit. Don't disagree with me I'm right.
#sorry for giving so many of them tumblrs#theyre gay and autistic what else am i supposed to give them

Why You Should Reblog Creative Work
Here’s the thing about tumblr and reblogs: A lot of tumblr olds will tell you how reblogging is the only way for a post—especially when it comes to creative work such as art, gifs, fics etc.—to be seen by other people in the first place, as tumblr doesn’t have an algorithm.
This is not quite true anymore. Tumblr does have an algorithm and it’s a pretty well working one, too. I actually do use the ‘For You’ page every now and then and it always shows me a few posts that absolutely are of my interest. Hell, it even shows me untagged posts, it even shows added commentary in reblogs that are relevant to my interest.
So, saying “a like does nothing on tumblr” isn’t true anymore. As I’ve already seen, you don’t even necessarily need to tag your posts anymore (text posts at least—I don’t believe it’d work with images) to reach your audience.
But, and there is a But, capital letters and all that jazz, tumblr is first and foremost a blogging website. You all have blogs, and when you post here you blog. The reblogging function is a deeply ingrained, essential feature of this site, and when bloggers stop using it, creators will stop creating. A lot of them have already stopped—it’s one of the reasons why I for example, as well as a lot of other writers I know, don’t post fics on here anymore and merely share a quick link to AO3.
This is a blogging website and people are killing it by not using it the way it’s supposed to be used. Yes, you can, technically still reach your audience even if you’re not being reblogged at all, but apart from the fact that a lot of tumblr olds don’t even look at the ‘For You’ page, nothing will spread creative work as fast as reblog chains will. Nothing will make sure your work will be seen at all, except when people reblog it.
Not to mention that the ‘For You’ page (or the ‘Based on Your Likes’ function which is mostly garbage unlike the ‘For You’ page tbh) will never be able to show you older work that could interest you too, and bring the creator joy by getting attention on something that’s already years old again. Only sharing the work and spreading the joy will work.
Also, because likes were pretty useless until recently, most tumblr users don’t see likes as in “hey, I liked this!” but more in a “I saw this” manner. Hell, that’s how I use the like button. Sure, I leave a like on things I do like (I wouldn’t leave it on a post I dislike, that makes no sense), but the like is mostly meant for me to remember I saw this already. To show appreciation I reblog/queue the post. Because that’s what reblogging to most of us means. It means “hey, I like this and I appreciate it and I want to share it so others see this amazing thing too!”
If you leave only a like and no reblog follows it eventually, to most of us it means “yeah, I liked this but not enough to have it on my own blog and share it with others”—and that’s discouraging as fuck. It’s like saying that the work we created isn’t good enough.
Obviously, you don’t have to reblog every art/gifs/fics/etc. you see if they don’t even interest you. But naturally, you wouldn’t leave a like on something you don’t like either, would you?
There’s, of course, also always this small portion of Big Artists who claim that reblogs aren’t that important and likes are just as appreciated, but those are usually the kind of artists who reach hundreds of reblogs, get lot of commentary on the work, kind asks and so on and so forth. Maybe once people stop interacting with their work they would change their tune, but as long as they don’t struggle with receiving appreciation for the creative work that took them hours and was created with passion and love, their opinion doesn’t really matter, as they’re in a huge minority with that view anyway.
(I am talking about creative work specifically here because honestly, no one gives a fuck if you reblog shitposts or not, as they don’t take even remotely the same amount of time as a single art piece does for example, and aren’t made with the same passion either. Ironically though, shitposts are the kind of posts that get the most reblogs anyway.)
At the end of the day, it’s really not that hard to reblog other people’s work. You don’t have to leave a comment in the tags/reblog either, as not everyone has the time and spoons to do so—I do promise you though that if you leave kind commentary underneath a creative work, you will make OP’s day—there’s even a quick reblog resp. a quick queue option on mobile and desktop, which takes you just as long to click as the like button. Literally just a second.
You can also always make (a) sideblog(s) for anything you don’t want to mix with the other things you post/reblog.
And it doesn’t matter if you have no followers or not many who would see the things you reblog either. OP doesn’t know that—all they do know is that someone appreciates the creative work they posted. And a reblog even with no commentary will always be more meaningful than a like.
Maybe it’s not important anymore on tumblr to get reblogs to reach an audience, but the reblogs are still necessary to keep the community alive. And by discarding the reblog function we’re effectively killing that community until there won’t be any creative work anymore and well… probably only memes and shitposts on here.
So instead of getting all prissily and calling creators “entitled” for asking for reblogs, as if it is such a hardship to click the button, you should maybe ask yourself why you’re so reluctant to reblog work that took hours to create in the first place, hm?

Sometimes I get so sad when I see fantastic art that's been up for a week and it'll only have like, 7 notes.
I'm not even an artist, a writer shitposter instead but I get not reblogging that as writing is longer and takes time to process and read it all but art??? you just scan it with these things called eyes (that doesn't take as long as reading!) and then if it brings you joy, say something!!! GET THAT GOOD SHIT OUT THERE!! No one can appreciate it if it's not passed around! Liking doesn't do much on tumblr to help creators!!!
Sometimes I don't write a lot of comments on stuff right away because I'm scared to spam or then I have thoughts I want to say but sometimes brain is fried but then I try to come back and THEN say why when brain starts working again!
I mean my blog is just my gallery of shit I think is neat and want to see again. It's part of the reason why I tag and categorize so I can find pretty things AGAIN. It's not hoarding if it's online shut up (also so people can search and then see the pretty things!)
I'm like some crazy rich person with a gallery in their house who will give tours and points out the paintings like "And this is the blorbo of this individual. No, I do not know who they are but have you seen the colors?! Can't you tell that there was so much LOVE put into this?! CAn you feel it?! SEE IT!"
It just makes me sad, dudes. Y'all deserve love and appreciation and compliments for what you've gifted to this hellsite (╯︵╰,)
#and no I don't like or reblog things just because “oh everyone else has” and/or “You're my mutual so I just immediately like it.”#like NO. I gobble that shit up because I WANT IT. and I slap it on my blog like some scrapbook to look at my “shiny things”.#My blog is a disaster but that doesn't mean your works are. I'm from twitter but I'm now gonna make an effort to main tumblr instead for my own mental health.
I was wondering if there are any norms on tumblr that we should know about? like how twitter has TW and CW at the beginning of each tweet (if needed)? or tone indicators? idk how familiar you are with how we do it on twt but is it any different? is there anything else?
thank you for being so welcoming to us refugees lol I think if it was the opposite where tumblr was moving to twt (for being toxic) idk how welcoming people would have been, so this is big, at least in my eyes :) <3
aww you’re so very welcome. we do definitely have etiquette here, the biggest being tags. at the bottom of the post you reblog you can put hashtags— they can be specific to help sort the content you reblog so you can find it easier later, or it can be nice little comments for your followers or for the post author. but most importantly, there’s an option on tumblr to filter specific tags. this is extremely helpful to people with triggers. for example, the art you’ve just made or reblogged has blood in it— instead of having to put a big “TW BLOOD” over the top of your post, just add in with the other tags, “blood”, “tw blood”, or “blood tw”. someone who doesn’t want to see blood is going to have that tag blocked, meaning it’ll be covered up on their dash and they can choose to see it or not. very helpful!
this system can be used for almost anything you could think of. so generally just remember to properly tag your posts!
another etiquette here specific to the dream smp tumblr community is do NOT tag the word minecraft. not “philza minecraft” or “minecraft youtubers” even. the reason for this is that tumblr doesn’t have specific solo tags, instead it groups tags together with the same word in. so the poor minecraft building community is often forced to sift through dsmp fanart instead of the build inspiration they’re looking for.
basically: don’t tag with the words “minecraft” or “mineblr”
you asked about tone indicators: we do use those here! :] it works pretty much the same as on twitter, except it’s less often in our posts (because we tend to only write long essays or obvious shitposts) and more useful in the tags, comments, or asks you send.
and the final and most important: the reason tumblr is so tolerable lately is that we don’t have an algorithm. you’re not going to see posts people liked, or things that went viral, or things the website thinks is about your interest. you will ONLY see posts from people you follow.
however this makes reblogs very important, because without an algorithm, art isn’t going to be spread unless it gets reblogged. if you see a post you like, you reblog it to help spread it. it’s very important here and often most people’s blogs contain three fourths reblogs and only a quarter original posts.
this got kind of long and i’m sorry about that, but that’s all that i could think of you may need to know! here in dsmpblr we tend to write a lot of long posts about character analysis so don’t be scared by that when you see it :] it’s all in good fun
welcome to tumblr <3

Hello, artist here; the reason i dont like the whole reblog art argument it's because sometimes... you just don't want to reblog it. Either your blog is themed and it wouldn't fit, or you just don't like the piece that much, or whatever.
Besides i don't think a reblog without tags or comments from someone with 0 followers does much for the artist at all, it's the equivalent of giving 2 likes; and btw likes ARE helpful too. I keep seeing the argument that this isn't like twitter or instagram, but when you search a tag the top posts are the ones with the most amount of notes (notes, not reblogs). Therefore a post with 200 likes and 10 reblogs is going to reach more people through tags than a post with 100 likes and 100 reblogs.
I think this whole argument is based around doing numbers, and people forget that a like is a person out there who /likes/ your art. Isn't the point of posting art to share it with someone who will like it? but if they show you they like it by giving it just a like, that's bad?
For me it's come to a point where i won't even give a like bc if i give a like i'll feel obliged to reblog it, and i think it might be this way for more people, which is worse.
Now don't get me wrong, i love reblogs. I love reading tags and comments and it does motivate me to keep posting. This isn't an argument against reblogs at all. I simply don't think we should pressure people into reblogging art that they don't want to.
Hi! Thanks for sharing your point of view! I'm not sure how to start in answering this ask so I guess I’ll answer you point by point.
sometimes… you just don't want to reblog it. Either your blog is themed and it wouldn't fit
This is an argument I've heard many times and one I have also seen being responded to many times. The simple solution here is that you make a sideblog for which the art would fit. For example, I have many sideblogs that wouldn't "fit" on this one, like an aesthetic blog, a purely shitpost blog or a miscellaneous blog (this one is mostly for mass reblogs) and it seems this could be the solution to this problem, too. It doesn't cost you anything but may give a lot of artists the exposure that they want. It's pretty much a win-win situation. You get to experience awesome fanworks AND the art is exposed to more people.
but for this one...
or you just don't like the piece that much, or whatever.
I am feeling a little hurt by this frankly, and as much as I want to give you the benefit of the doubt, it also sounds... quite entitled? If you like it enough to give it a heart, surely you like it enough to reblog, otherwise why like it at all?
Now you also mention this:
Besides i don't think a reblog without tags or comments from someone with 0 followers does much for the artist at all, it's the equivalent of giving 2 likes; and btw likes ARE helpful too. I keep seeing the argument that this isn't like twitter or instagram, but when you search a tag the top posts are the ones with the most amount of notes (notes, not reblogs). Therefore a post with 200 likes and 10 reblogs is going to reach more people through tags than a post with 100 likes and 100 reblogs.
to which I have to say that this is simply not true. I don't know if you are new here on tumblr, and if you are I can't fault you for not knowing the way the algorithm works here, so I will tell you. Yes, likes do contribute something to the algorithm but not nearly as much as reblogs do. People on tumblr spend most of their time on their dashboard, which is made up entirely of what other people reblog. Does that make sense? 70-80% of the reblogs that artists, gif-makers and writers receive are second-hand. This means that most of the reblogs that we get are NOT directly reblogged from our blog. They are reblogged from other users who have reblogged their creation. Sure, the likes may keep your post at the top of the tag, but only for a couple of days. For a piece of art to receive continuous engagement and potential new followers it has to circulate. This is why the reblog button is two arrows instead of one, because it takes at least two to share a post. You, the reblogged, and the person you reblogged it from. So no, 100 reblogs and 100 likes does so much more for the artist than 10 reblogs and 200 likes, because it’s shown to more people, and has a higher potential of being shown to even more people from there.
Rather than keeping the art in your basement where no one will see it, why not put it in the living room, where everyone who visits may gaze upon it? After all we don’t keep DaVinci’s artworks in a dark cellar now do we? By sharing art by reblogs, we provide artists the exposure from which many build their livelihood.
Which brings me to my next point:
I think this whole argument is based around doing numbers, and people forget that a like is a person out there who /likes/ your art. Isn't the point of posting art to share it with someone who will like it? but if they show you they like it by giving it just a like, that's bad?
You seem to work under the assumption that many of the artists that share their works online do so merely for an ego boost or a self-pat on the back. This is not entirely true, although it may be for some (for example me, I won’t deny it). Actually, most of the artists I know and follow use their art to provide for themselves. it is a job, an income, which relies on the amount of customers they get. Reblogs give them exposure and exposure gives them opportunities. In fact, probably some of the most famous internet artists today are working real life jobs in the art industry, whether that’s animation, graphic design, concept art, book covers, what have you!
Off the top of my head here are a few:
Alice Oseman (yes, she started right here on tumblr) has just had her graphic novels adapted into a Netflix series. You may have heard of it, it’s called Heartstopper and only trended on tumblr like a bajillion times.
Viria was contracted by famous writer Rick Riordan to provide official character portraits to his books after her fanarts back in 2013-14 blew up and which she became famous from right here on tumblr.
Velinxi, the artist also currently known for her Percy Jackson fanart, has released graphic novels of her own, some of which I found in bookstores right in my town!
Loish is a world renowned artist who has been partnering with several art companies, one of which is Wacom, the leading brand in providing digital artists with graphic tablets, but this she never would have achieved if people hadn’t shared her art.
And there’s more. Cyarin, Piccolo, Ikimaru and many many more. All of these insanely famous artists started on the internet where people shared their art. Reblogs, exposure, follower count and notes open doors for people career wise and it is not shameful to chase after that or to ask for a simple reblog by the click of a button after having provided something for a wide audience for free. Digital artists today are even taught how to have a social media presence in their art schools. My friend who studies game design told me how they have a whole class project on building up your own Artstation account, because the industry has moved more progressively online than ever before and a simple printed out CV is just not impressive anymore.
And that's not all. I've also seen artists do commissions to pay medical bills or rent or other bills they have to take care of. For a lot of people art commissions are their last resort to get some semblance of stability.
And also I would like to point out this contradiction:
Isn't the point of posting art to share it with someone who will like it? but if they show you they like it by giving it just a like, that's bad?
So you get it… but you don’t get it? Yes, posting art is exactly that, it is sharing it. And you do that by reblogging it. A reblog is a share. A Like is a bookmark. When you buy a painting, you don't keep it in the basement with a linen over it. You hang it on your living room wall! Can you imagine if museums just kept all of Van Gogh's and Rembrandts and Mucha's paintings in their dark dark cellar where it will never see the day? What do we go to museums for then? Can you imagine if the library kept their vast collection of knowledge locked in a vault? What do we go to the library for?
Common curtesy on tumblr is to reblog whatever you like, which is another indicator which makes me think you might be new (or well newish at least) to tumblr. Actually there’s another post that circulated which showed that this ratio problem is fairly recent and that back in 2012-2016 the ratio usually favored the reblogs. Because this is the etiquette of tumblr. *squidward voice* We reblog stuff here, sir.
No one wants to follow an empty blog. Hell, I haven't posted any art the last two months and i still get new followers because they like my reblogs. I've had several asks tell me that they like the stuff I reblog and think it's interesting or that I provide them with posts they may otherwise never have seen.
Again, why keep DaVinci in the basement, when he could decorate your living room wall so beautifully?
Reblog art. Reblog art. Reblog art. If you want to keep consuming fanart and Fan edits and fanficitons, reblog it. support your fandom artists.

For anyone interested in long-term residence in the supernatural fandom, please have some observations I’ve made over the decade I’ve been here. Take it or leave it as you will, but I’ve found all of this info useful over the years I’ve been here.
I wrote this yesterday, and it achieved its mission of identifying the sort of folks who would react negatively to it (i.e. a lot of block lists have been updated), so now that it’s been edited for content, it’s going under a cut (because that is how we do things on tumblr in general, unless we have a deliberate purpose for annoying readers with excessively long text posts) for the sake of people who actually do care about the fandom and its history. If that’s not you or your reason for being here, then keep on keeping on with your own thing, I guess. For those who are interested, there’s a lot of fandom resources some of us have been building for years that you might enjoy knowing about.
First off, I’ve been informed by a few friends who’ve read through this for coherency’s sake that it sort of reads like a *shakes cane from porch* fandom grandma complaint, but honestly... I earned this rocking chair and goshdangit imma rock now. So apologies for any “back in my day” vibes or faint aroma of tiger balm this post might give off. Then again, it’s loosely based on a similar post from 2012 so like... time is a flat circle anyway I guess.
1. There is no such thing as “tumblr famous,” unless you’re referring to the hilarious and delightful fic of the same name (please go read it, you will cackle). Posting Hot Takes for imaginary Clout™ on this site is kind of pointless in the long run. Sure you can post solely for the sake of stirring shit and getting notes, but the majority of the folks who do aren’t long term residents of the fandom. They’re just tourists moving through our little beach town for spring break. If you’re actually intent on moving to this corner of the fandom for an extended stay, please bother to really feel out the permanent residents and understand the culture and general mood of the neighborhood. It bears no resemblance to whatever’s going on across town where all the bars and beach parities are happening, and those loud, drunken revelers are, again, gonna disappear back to their regular lives or on to the next party eventually. That doesn’t mean the fandom is dying, it’s just evolving.
(funny how I had several comments implying that I’m just trying to keep the fandom from evolving with this post, because I sincerely do want the fandom to continue on for years to come, and that is impossible without evolution. We can evolve without self-immolating, though. mostly i included point 1 for an excuse to push ancient but hilarious fanfic on you.)
2. Once you post something here, it’s been unleashed to the fandom winds. You never know where it will end up, or who will comment on it or add to it. Remember that time Misha tweeted the link to the Epic Cockles Love Story post? No? It was wild. That was 2012. They all know we’re here, and how to find us if they want to. Please don’t take it to their doorsteps.
Obviously if someone is being a dick on your posts, please feel free to block them, but the whole entire point of this site is to engage people with your posts. Being big mad that someone reblogged your post with comments or supporting evidence, or happy headcanons or “HECK THIS IS GREAT BECAUSE (insert personal story about their experience or whatever else made them Feel Things about your post)” is frankly ridiculous. If your goal is to avoid any sort of engagement with your posts, then maybe try instagram instead. From what I understand, there is a SPN fandom presence there, and nobody can tarnish your original posts with unwanted commentary. But the ability to reblog with additional commentary is a FEATURE of tumblr that builds community through conversation. Otherwise we’re all just talking to ourselves in a vacuum, and that’s what actually kills fandoms.
(and for the folks who just want to blog how they want to blog and don’t want people to engage on their posts at all, please feel free to block anyone you want, as well... nobody wants to step on your toes, but most of us also don’t want to walk on eggshells wondering if this post is one of the “do not add comments for any reason” sorts of posts, either. This is a huge fandom and most people can’t even begin to keep track of every creator and their url du jour, and what their personal rules might be regarding interaction with their content. Including a “please don’t add comments” note at the bottom of your posts-- and not in your tags that won’t even show up on reblogs, but in the actual body of the post-- would sincerely help avoid any awkward or unwanted interactions, too. At the end of the day, you are in control of your own fandom experience and the block button exists.
For the record, I block zero fandom blogs (which is why I posted this, I wanted it to reach a wide scope... refer to the opening paragraphs as to why).
3. Since this post was partly inspired by a tag I left on that post going around about how “previous tags” mean fuckall on this site (which you can read here), just a reminder that if you like someone’s tags or feel they add value to the post, part of the Peer Review structure of tumblr encourages you to PASTE THEM INTO A REBLOG. If you do this, then at least credit the person who actually wrote the tags! Don’t just copy someone else’s tags into your tags on your reblog of the post without credit either. They were not YOUR tags. (I have had this happen to tag rambles I wrote and someone else got credited with them on a subsequent reblog and it is FRUSTRATING). Just... don’t even bother to write “previous tags” because WHAT PREVIOUS TAGS?! Nobody is gonna bother to chase back the chain of reblogs trying to find where the mystery tags came from, friendos. That way lies madness.
(for the record, since some folks seemed to focus on this point solely, writing “previous tags” on a post isn’t inherently a BAD thing, but for anyone who actually is here for more than one-off shitposting, then it’s sort of a pointless thing in the long run. This wasn’t intended to suggest people who ARE here for one-off shitposting are bad or “doing it wrong,” but for people who might actually want to preserve that hilarious joke or insightful comment. People delete posts and entire blogs all the time around here. Links break. I get that the upcoming generation just shrugs at that and moves on with their lives, but heck... you don’t have to accept that all entertainment is disposable if you don’t want to. There’s a bizarre sort of nihilism plaguing us all about the impermanence of pretty much everything that feels like something we should be fighting against rather than buying into wholesale, even in our escapist entertainment. I’m just exhausted by the complete loss of joy in community.
*shouts from the peanut gallery* IT AIN’T THAT DEEP, JUST GET SOME FRESH AIR AND LOOK AT A PUPPY OR SOMETHING
Yes... yes it isn’t really that deep, but bigger picture in the state of reality we’re all entirely disillusioned with, are we supposed to just give up on everything, including the things we cling to because they bring us a tiny spark of hope that we’re not all just trapped in this dystopian nightmare and things might actually be worth living for?
*peanut gallery clinging to burnt husks of peanuts in a barren peanut field* but this is how we have chosen to cope
Okay... you do you... I feel bad for you but if that’s the case then this post is NOT FOR YOU. AND THAT’S FINE. I honestly do not care if you don’t care! I mean, I’m sorry anyone has to live in a world that drives them to that mindset, but I understand. This post is for anyone who might look at their lives and their choices and think “no wait, I unironically enjoy this and want more from the experience of that enjoyment than I’m currently feeling.” Everyone else can continue with their lives as usual.)
4. CONTENT THEFT IS NEVER OKAY. PERIOD. Things like “credit to the artist” or tagging gifs or images you found on pinterest as “not mine” isn’t actually credit. If you can’t source an image or gif set, DO NOT POST IT! We don’t REPOST (i.e. save an image and then create a new post with it as if it was our own creation). We REBLOG (click the little square arrows and reblog from the actual creator). That goes for gif sets, fanvids, screencaps, meta, fic... everything.
(hopefully everyone here already understands this one, but I felt compelled to include some “these are stupidly obvious” reminders anyway, since this is ostensibly some sort of advice column. This is the equivalent of the warning label on your toaster reminding you not to use it in the bath. Like... duh...)
5. Close kin of item 4 is SOURCE YOUR SHIT.
(for 100% disclosure purposes, I specifically discussed this one in this specific way because of an influx of anon ask messages I received in the wake of the finale. Literally the inciting incident for creating this entire post was what I can only assume was a joking ask about a comment Misha made at a con years ago. Someone actually bothered to take the time to type out those sentences to me. I have no idea what they were expecting in reply, or what could possibly motivate them to send this comment about something so entirely random from, again, several years ago. Just a joke? No idea, but whatever... it got me thinking that there might actually be people who are new to the fandom who MIGHT actually care about the fandom history, and maybe they just don’t know where to go for that info, or how to even begin searching through 16 years of history for things they might actually find enjoyment in, rather than just hauling random out of context garbage out on main and pointing and laughing about it now. People are actually allowed to care about things. It’s not cringeworthy to actually care about things, and you are not alone in actually caring, and there’s this whole big room over here full of people who are thrilled to share in that with you. This post is intended FOR THOSE PEOPLE SPECIFICALLY, so if that is not you, please just continue walking by.)
Yes, I know lots of y’all are new around here right now, but dredging up stuff from years ago that fandom has completely debunked and presenting it as TRU FAX again is just exhausting. We’re not trying to be party poopers, but seriously, we have seen it all and are mostly done with extinguishing bags of flaming dog poop on our front porches for the umpteenth year in a row. I’ve seen a lot of posts that have the same tone as “I saw Goody Proctor dancing with the devil” or “I heard kylo ren has an eight pack” and just... the information is there for anyone who cares enough to find it.
This goes double for “why is nobody talking about this thing I just discovered while watching the show for the first time?!” And, oh hon, we have talked it all into the ground over the last fifteen years. We’re happy you’re discovering it again, but I promise we talked about it plenty when the episodes originally aired. We have such a rich meta history that lots of us have worked really hard to preserve. I encourage you to seek it out, if nothing else than as historical artifacts. The way we have discussed the show has been a 16-year evolution. People have written literal doctoral dissertations on this show. Your shitposts are fun! We love reliving our own experience through fresh eyes, and seeing your wonder at experiencing it all again for the first time! But y’all didn’t invent this fandom in the last six months, either.

Anyone remember Fandom Wank? Not the concept but the actual LJ... No? Okay have a link to SPN topics that ended up there. Through 2013. We have seen so much... including several fandom containment breaches.
for all your art sourcing needs, please see @theroadsofararchive, the repository for so much fandom art.
need to find a gif of something? canonspngifs is a vast repository of gifsets of the entire series. If the gif you want to use in your post happens to be the first gif in the gifset, in the tumblr gif finder thingy just paste the permalink to that post from canonspngifs (which is easily searchable by episode, character, location, situation, quotes, and sometimes even color and clothing items the actors are wearing... it’s really well organized, especially for tumblr >.>) and the first gif will be automatically linked with credit to the gif creator attached. It makes life easy that way. It’s also convenient when trying to remember something specific but can’t remember what episode it’s from. I’ve used the site to jog my memory before going to the superwiki armed with more specific search results to find episode quotes and references. Or sometimes I just scroll through all the nice gifs for fun, too.
Need a screencap of something and know exactly which episode it’s from? Try Home of the Nutty. You might not find the exact screencap you’re looking for, but they have a complete set of caps of every episode, and it’s an incredibly useful resource for quick reference checks and the like. Just give pages a chance to fully load before clicking on the next one. The site is easily overloaded, but it’s still free to use (and again, with credit... Pretty much every screencap on my entire blog is from HotN unless otherwise credited).
As you can see, this is a fandom built on preserving our history. You absolutely are not required to engage with any of this if that’s not of interest to you, but I can only assume that there are people who would be interested in it if only they knew it existed and how to find it. Well, now they do.
6. A few more notes on tags, and how they work on tumblr. The first 20 tags on your ORIGINAL posts are searchable sitewide, so if you want to be able to find something again, tag that thing first before going on general tag rambles. The only place tags on reblogs are searchable is on your own blog. So you don’t have to put 50 tags trying to get a post seen if it’s a reblog. You’re just spitting into the wind at that point. If you have a filing system for finding things again, then by all means add those tags (again, in the first 20, so they’re searchable), but you don’t need to tag a reblog “destiel” and “deancas” and “dean” and “cas” and “dean x cas” or whatever. Pick one for your personal blog’s filing system, that’s all you need.
(this was only added because tagging and searching on this site is so very broken... I get that a lot of folks don’t care about ever searching their own blogs again for anything, so this one only really applies if you do often find yourself trying to find old posts. If not, then it’s not really relevant. It took me years to work out a decent tagging system, and at the beginning of my time here I never thought I’d end up camping out here for a decade and falling this deep into the fandom, and I regretted my lack of consistent tags only years later when I realized I actually wanted to be able to go back and find specific old posts again. So... for anyone who wants to err on the side of caution, working out a sensible tagging system really helps if you’re here for the long term. I personally tag content by episode, because some of my other general tags are so large as to be practically useless as a search term. But whatever system you choose to file stuff on your own blog, it really only has to make sense to you. And again, if this is pointless advice for someone who has no intention of settling here for the long term. Please feel free to ignore it. I just wish someone had explained it this way to me ten years ago and saved me the hassle of retroactively tagging something like 30k posts... especially now that using the mass tag replacer is the fastest way to get your entire blog deleted... oops? so yeah, don’t use the mass tag replacer either >.>)
7. Tags on Tumblr DO NOT WORK LIKE TAGS ON TWITTER. If you @ someone in the body of the post, it will show up in their notifications (if they’re the sort of person who even checks their notifications... not all of us do. For the record, I generally don’t...), but putting actor or ship names in the tags on a tumblr post does absolutely nothing. It’s not the same as tagging the actor’s twitter account in a tweet. Nobody’s getting notifications about you tagging a post about Jensen here as “Jensen Ackles.” There is a difference. Please learn it. (and don’t take headcanons and ESPECIALLY RPF or otherwise explicit art or fic from tumblr to twitter and tag the actors in it. That’s just... not okay.)
(I have seen the pearl clutchers getting all in a huff about the mere existence of RPF or even explicit content of fictional characters if it doesn’t meet their purity standards, but tagging those things allows people who don’t want to see it to actively avoid that content here. Nobody has a right to tell people their fictional content shouldn’t exist at all, or that creators of that fictional content somehow deserve harassment or threats for having dared to create such “immoral” content, won’t somebody PLEASE think of the children... and no... you do not do that here. Don’t be the problematic behavior you wish to ban from the world. Learn to use tags to protect yourself from, as i have attempted to emphasize here, fictional content you are personally upset by. That’s a you problem, not a problem for the creators of potentially upsetting content that they tag appropriately for.)
8. General formatting stuff: If you’re writing long text posts, visually break them up so people aren’t faced with one long wall of text. The enter key is your friend. Also, if you put long text posts under a Read More break and send people to your blog to finish reading, please ensure that your blog is actually visually accessible (tiny text, or light grey text on a dark grey background, or a visually busy background might be aesthetically pleasing to you but nobody can actually read it. Loads of folks won’t even try. Which is great if you don’t actually care whether people are able to appreciate your content or not, but something to at least consider if you *do* actively want to encourage engagement with your work. Confirm how your blog looks on both mobile and desktop and make sure it’s actually functional in both, too).
And since I mentioned that most of my experience on fandom tumblr has been in the SPN fandom, here’s a bit of a reminder for folks who are new around here. With the reminder that I have been here more than a decade and still feel like a newbie myself sometimes...
This is an OLD FANDOM. There are many, many people who have been at this longer than some of you have been alive. The average age for creators in this fandom is older than you think (I think of my friends in their 30′s as young’ins okay? okay). With that understood, you are responsible for the content you consume and are exposed to. Curate your experience. Ship and let ship. YKINMKATOK. Don’t deliberately expose yourself to content you find upsetting for whatever reason. Tags and warnings are your friends, not targets for you to attack in some sort of purity war. People will ship things you do not like (or in specific ways you do not like), will say things you do not agree with, and will find their happiness in things you abhor. That is not your concern. Find what you do like, and support and engage with it, and ignore (or block, or unfollow) the rest. Tumblr has a feature that lets you blacklist tags so the content you’re trying to avoid won’t appear on your dash.
Remember the paradox of tolerance.
It is not your job in fandom to police how other people enjoy the fandom. It’s not *my* job to police how *you* enjoy the fandom, UNLESS your enjoyment is in actively harming other real human beings in the fandom. If you don’t like their take on the character or the show or the plotlines or their ships or anything else, you don’t need to engage with their posts at all! The necessary corollary to this is that clarifying misunderstandings or correcting factual misinformation is not “policing.”
(this is where the peanut gallery reminds me it ain’t that deep, and I plead with them to put down the social media and find just one (1) thing to actually believe in in this godforsaken life, find something other than disdain and cynicism and spite to live for. If those things motivate you to find a larger cause for yourself, then great, use them to your advantage, but use them to find something that makes you a better person or brings you a modicum of joy and connection to your fellow human beings despite living in a dystopian hellscape of a world)
I have seen a lot of posts lately that are founded on the sort of authority that comes with “I watched through tumblr for a few months and then watched the last three episodes of the series” and as such are just... missing the larger context of the entire show, and are unfounded entirely in canon. I 100% appreciate the new enthusiasm for the fandom that we’ve been living in here for years, and it’s wonderful to see new people enjoying the thing we love. Your headcanons are valid, you are valid, but recognize that your headcanons aren’t canon. All of us finale denialists have accepted this in some measure, so we feel you. We truly, truly feel you. But regarding actual canon, we have a resource for that: the Superwiki. Learn it, live it, love it, as Metatron would say.
(which you could discover he said in 10.17 Inside Man, thanks to the superwiki! accept no substitutes!)
(and again, there have been people who have been involved in fandom for years who haven’t engaged with canon in years, either! You can play in this universe however you choose, BUT FOR PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT CANON AT ALL, WHICH I AM AGAIN POINTEDLY SAYING MIGHT NOT BE YOU, READER, AND I’M NOT SUGGESTING YOU ARE WRONG FOR NOT WANTING TO ACTUALLY ENGAGE WITH CANON, but if you DO want to engage with canon, please have some useful resources. Why do people feel personally attacked by being presented a list of helpful resources? Absolutely baffling.)
(also: words have definitions. “Canon” is a specific thing, meaning in this case “the finished media product that aired on television.” Anything beyond those limits is secondary canon (think: john’s journal, which is not canon but canon adjacent at best...), word of god (i.e stuff said by the writers and showrunners), or headcanon (which includes actor commentary-- they may have helped create the show with their acting choices and whatever, but they are not in control of the story overall). If there’s something you dislike about actual canon, you can reject it and supplement it with your own theories or preferred outcomes-- that’s basically what fanfic is-- but that doesn’t make your theories canon (much to all our dismay, that’s just not how any of this works. This is not to invalidate how anyone engages with the show or the fandom, just trying to clarify what seems to have been a source of unintentional misunderstandings. Your theories do not have to be “canon” to be legitimate interpretations.)
***I am setting this section apart, and did make a separate post of just this following information, because this is where we go from being relatively chill about different parts of fandom choosing to interact in different ways and you do you and blog however you want, to “hey can everybody please understand that the way you are interacting with this specific material might be harmful for specific legal reasons, and stating that you do not care about the consequences of your actions does actively make you the asshole here...” Okay, now that we have that understood:
The spnscripthunt collective has been steadily acquiring new scripts (which are posted in full on the superwiki for everyone to enjoy, for free). The language around how some folks are talking about these scripts is... concerning. For very real legal reasons, actually, and not because we’re feeling precious about the collection and don’t wike it when meanies use them in shitposts.
-First off, these scripts are not “leaks.” They are all verified and legally purchased (or gifted, in some cases, but still acquired entirely above board. we didn’t whack anyone over the head in a back alley for these scripts, or swipe them out of someone’s trailer on set).
(in case anyone was unaware, these scripts are the copywritten protected property of Warner Brothers. So yes, how we use them and share them with the fandom could have legal repercussions. We present them as a collected resource of fandom history which SHOULD fall under Fair Use doctrine, but this is untested legal water. Insinuating that the scripts are somehow not entirely legally obtained, or that posting them for public access involved less than 100% transparent and entirely legal transactions is incredibly concerning.
Once again for the peanut gallery, if you don’t care about any of that and are just having a good time with it, at least be mindful of the work and expense a large group of people have gone through to acquire and present the content you’re all too eager to exploit for cheap thrills. Some of us do actually care and are not exactly comfortable with the fact that others don’t seem to care about burning it all to the ground. We can’t force you to listen or behave as we’d hope you might, but at least be aware of the potential consequences of your actions. All we’re asking is for you to not be the douchebag who sets the whole neighborhood on fire with your illegal fireworks display. Is that too much to ask for? more on that in a second, first... a psa)
-If you see a script for sale and are unsure if it’s legit (or believe it might already be freely available in our collection), please feel free to ask us for advice. Our goal is to make as much of our fandom history available to the entire fandom, and we absolutely do not want anyone shelling out money for stuff you can already find for free.
(seriously, we’ve seen a bunch of resellers cropping up selling printed versions of the scripts we bought and uploaded for everyone to enjoy free of charge, or scripts that are otherwise of dubious origin. We’ve been at this for years now and know what’s actually out there. We don’t want anyone to fall for a scam if we can help it)
-Also, the usual reminder that the scripts we acquire ARE NOT NECESSARILY THE FINAL SHOOTING DRAFTS. In fact, the majority of scripts in our collection are NOT. Changes are made daily to scripts, even during filming. Comparing a Production Draft (white pages, effectively the first “final draft” of what usually becomes a series of drafts before filming wraps) to a much later revision (say... green or goldenrod revisions, several of which we DO have in our collection for comparison) and how those earlier drafts often differ wildly from the aired version versus how similar a much later green draft is to the aired version, for example, can teach you a lot about the television writing process. The link above to the superwiki scripts page has a nice little explainer about how this process works.
Differences between our posted scripts (many of which are white drafts, aka FIRST complete drafts, which will likely go through multiple rounds of revisions before filming even begins) and the aired version of the show are not all “acting choices” or a director or editor just cutting whole scenes on a whim. It’s insulting to everyone involved in production to suggest that’s the case.
(and yeah, fine... whatever, make any sort of posts you like regarding how those changes came about, but at the very least understand that it’s not actually the truth about how any of this works. Don’t care that that’s not the truth and want to make the posts anyway because shitposting is fun and that’s the extent of your sense of humor? FINE! You’re entitled to do that! But at least you DO know the truth now, and hopefully so do the people who engage with your posts. Deliberate ignorance isn’t cute, smooth lions notwithstanding)
There’s probably a whole other post to be made on fandom tagging etiquette, but again I don’t really use the tags enough to know what’s going on with that whole situation. I’ve also probably left a lot of stuff out, so please feel free to add things I’ve overlooked.
Thanks also to @trisscar368 and @thayerkerbasy for help compiling this, too. They were kind enough to escort me through the park to feed these pigeons. Now I need to take them out for ice cream. :’D
So I guess welcome to the neighborhood. Make yourself at home, but like... try not to trash the place while you’re here. Some of us live here by choice, lol.
#this blue hellsite (affectionate)#fandom problems#kinda wish i'd made this post six months ago but here we are i guess lol#long post#now edited for the people who are actually personally invested in the fandom#thanks for participating in this little experiment and I hope this version is actually informative to those who are interested#meaning there's a lot more links to stuff and explainers and whatnot...#and one last reminder that for folks just swinging through for laughs absolutely none of this applies to you#if you are legit interested in fandom history and preservation as we move to the post-canon world then hopefully this is useful to you

The wonderful @phoebe-twiddle tagged me to a yet another thingie, thank you!! 💚
Why did you choose your url? I used to play a hood called Sometown. It was the first long term hood I played with this account, so the username felt like a very easy choice :) Haven’t been able to change it ever since.
How long have you been on tumblr? Well like. 12 years. Or something. Simblr blog I’ve had almost as long.......................
Do you have a queue tag? I don’t really have any reason to use a queue tag. I think queue tags are good for people who want their followers to know they’re not really online at the moment their posts pop up. But like. I’m either always here or I don’t really want people to know for sure when I’m online or not. I only use queue anyway when I’m posting several gameplay posts at once - But I queue them only 10ish minutes apart.
Why did you start your blog in the first place? I joined tumblr because I’d seen friends use it and it seemed like a good alternative to Face/book and other social medias around. And when it comes to my Simblr blog, I created the original one because I wanted to try out posting my own gameplay pictures, as I’d seen others do as well. I created this blog with the same intention as the original :)
Why did you choose your icon/pfp? I just really like that hug :(((((((( And Greta, ofc.
Why did you choose your header? Uhhhh. Greta. Also the mobile header includes my self sim but I really need to give that sim a facelift and new hair.
What’s your post with the most notes? It’s What An Eyesore!
How many mutuals do you have? / How many followers do you have? The official total # is a bit over 1k.
How many people do you follow? Please note that I follow both simblrs and other interests on the same account, but still 615 WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
Have you ever made a shitpost? 🤔 not really I guess.
How often do you use tumblr each day? I’m always here.
Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? who won? Yeahhh no. I avoid drama like covid, and in general I mostly post for myself. I’m a bit lot unsocial, soooo :’)
How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts? If you tell me to reblog something I will most definitely not reblog it. If you can’t get your point through without guilt tripping people, then you gotta reconsider your point altogether.
Do you like tag games? YES.
Do you like ask games? YES YES.
Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous? Well like. I think in the Simblr community we all pretty much follow each other, and there are always blogs that get more traffic and messages and, well, popularity.
Do you have a crush on a mutual? I love y’all, mutual or not.
I FORGOT TO TAG HOPEFULLY THESE POP UP AFTER EDITING THE POST: @opalsims @hiippok @emperorofthedark @squeezleprime @mrslandgraab ♥

Hello!
🔸I'm Kers, aka your friendly disabled enby artist from Ukraine 🇺🇦! I generally go by any pronouns, but as for now i do have a preference towards he/him and they/them. My special interests are paleontology, ornithology, alien&half-life universes, and i also enjoy drawing various fandom/oc stuff! Also i like to craft different things from scratch sometimes. Basically, my blog contains a lot of interest hopping because my hyperfixations are wild and i'm usually not ashamed of it.
❗18+ advised❗Besides being my personal art&interest stash, sometimes it may or may not have adult/suggestive things mentioned/reblogged, but that's as far as it goes. Explore this blog at your own risk, and please do not interact with nsfw stuff here if you're a minor. I do try to keep nsfw content in this blog tagged for the convenience/filtering purposes, anyway..
I know this warning merely has any power to stop people, but if you happen to be a minor who managed to sneak in despite the warning, you gotta remember that i am not your caretaker nor i'm responsible for your actions or overall internet experience, and i don't really care if you lied about your age in bio or not. None of my business, but this warning is here for a reason. I'd be grateful if you respect it.
🔸I am very chill-going, feel free to send me asks and stuff you think i might like (but no vent/trauma dump please, i have my own demons to face), i quite enjoy when people do that and i love interactions (feel free to tag me in various special-interest-related posts and such, but be aware of the fact that usually i won't participate in tag games of all sorts with a rare exception), but sometimes i might disappear and/or won't respond right away because of my anxiety/social battery/bad memory. Please be patient, and thank you for stopping by, i geniunely appreciate each like, reblog or comment i get~

🌿Tags:
#kers ramblings - all text posts, talks and asks. Feel free to block it if i'm too loud on your dash
#my art - everything drawn by me, kind of a universal "art gallery" kind of tag. May or may not have shitpost-esque sketches as well
#kers crafts - pretty much self-explanatory, the things i make sometimes
#oc - characters, oh the many of them
#lyrr core - vibes that are resonating with my beloved oc Lyrr
#nsfw / #nsft - nsfw posts/reblogs
🔸I have a plenty of interests, fixations and fandoms i'm currently in, there's too many of them to list, and i constantly cycle through them over years. Even if it might seem like i no longer enjoy a [thing], i probably still do, and i'm very fond of the communities, mutuals and all the memories of the fun times i had back then. I never actually abandon any of that and revisit my interests quite often, so if you're a long time follower and/or followed me for a specific fandom or type of content, you may see me getting back to it eventually, if you're patient enough... Once i step into a new territory, i'm gonna visit it again and again, that's pretty much how it works.

About art usage [IMPORTANT]
DNI: MAP/pedo,zoo&other animal abuse,proship/incest/fauxcest ships, anti BLM,anti ACAB,transphobia/homophobia,ableism,islamophobia,fatphobia,terfs,bigots,racism,nazis,all sorts of ultra right wing radicals,elon/trump/putin supporters,ukraine/palestine invasion&war apologists (this is your only warning, get the fuck out and take your shit with you, i am not having a conversation or any interactions with people who were told to put my head on a stick just because i exist and because my identity "should be erased"), NFT/AI art, "anti anti", and other shitheads. You're not welcome here and you will never be. Get the hell out of my blog.
If i accidentally reblog something from a blog that supports any of the things above, please, PLEASE, let me know so I can delete and block it. I don't want any of that on my dash, but I'm only human and unfortunately i do not know what's lurking behind every single reblog i make, especially if the account itself is vague or secretly tiptoeing around questionable stuff. Thank you.
Basic respect and politeness, it's that easy. Also, i do keep my ultimate right to distance myself, block and move on without any direct engagement whatsoever if something (or someone) is making me highly uncomfortable.

I was tagged by the wonderful @ktarsims, thank you 💜
Why did you choose your URL?
It’s really just my creator name, nothing fancy. I wanted people to be able to easily find me and recognize my url. If you are wondering why I chose Simlicious as a name, I thought it was kinda cool at the time and I wanted something with the word “Sim” in it. Nowadays I think I could have been a bit more original.
How long have you been on tumblr?
Since February 2012. I just realized I missed my 10-year tumblr anniversary. I am really bad with dates and anniversaries in general though, so this is no surprise 😅
Do you have a queue tag?
Nope, I seldomly queue stuff anyway.
Why did you start your blog in the first place?
I was active in German Sims forums at the time and wasn’t really happy with only being in a “local” community. I wanted to spread my wings and also reach a wider audience, since I like creating for the sims games and communicating in English. I immediately liked the kind, open-minded simblr community, so I stuck around!
Why did you choose your icon/pfp?
Because I was too lazy to do anything else? Idk. I never had anything else and at this point, I wouldn’t know what else to put there anyway. It is not my simself, but just one of my models, put through a few artsy filters. Since my icon is purple, I feel like purple has become my “simblr brand color”. I have grown fond of the purple hearts 💜 and I feel like they are my thing now. Purple is not my favorite color though, that would be Turquoise.
Why did you choose your header?
I am not sure this is considered a header per se, but the background behind the my tumblr icon is the same background I chose for my website and my tumblr blog background (though I colored it differently there). It looks like fancy 3D paper cutouts and I still love it after all these years. Maybe one of the reasons I never update my tumblr theme (though it is overdue!).
What’s your post with the most notes?
That would be this post of my Ugg Boots with 1206 notes, which I initially made as a Secret Santa gift. This might be my most popular creation ever, and I’m still proud of how well it turned out! I am just not proud that I chose the busy and dark group pic as the first pic in that post. I really tried to set a scene there and everything, but I like the minimalist approach with a clean background much better.
How many mutuals do you have?
I counted 94, but I am pretty sure I miscounted due to going “OMG WHAT, THAT person is a mutual?” like 50 times. I have really cool mutuals.
How many followers do you have?
3564, as of now!
How many people do you follow?
244 (I think this is considered a low number, and I still cannot keep up with my dash at all)
Have you ever made a shitpost?
Not really, no. I wrote somewhat angry posts, most of which I did not actually post (they are more like a diary at this point), most had to do with some simblr drama and opinions. But in general, I try to write in a cool and composed manner, even when the subject matter is heated. I feel like much more can be achieved by being polite, exploring stuff from different angles and outlining the facts than by screaming ugly things at the world.
How often do you use tumblr every day?
I open tumblr at least once every day, it is a reflex at this point, but I do not always actually look at stuff or interact. That depends on my mood and my mindset. Sometimes I spend hours commenting, posting, liking, and on some days I barely do anything.
Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? who won?
I don’t think so! I do not like stirring up trouble. I remember I was once very close to being the target of a shitstorm, because I accidentally made another sims creator look bad and their protective followers were writing angry messages to me. I immediately apologized to the creator and changed my post and that was it!
How do you feel about ‘you need to reblog this’ posts?
I am unaffected by it. These posts remind me of chainmail, and I do not engage in those, nor in “you are a bad person if you do not reblog this, I will unfollow you if you do not reblog this”. Not reblogging does not mean that I do not agree with the contents of the post or do not care about it, it just means I do not want to clutter my blog, since I am very specific with the stuff I reblog.
Do you like tag games?
Depends on my mood and the specific questions asked but yeah, they are generally fun! I just do not like tagging other people (I do not want anyone to feel pressured, despite not feeling pressured by being tagged myself), so I usually tag anyone who wants to do them.
Do you like ask memes?
I think I’ve never done one before, most of them have to do with stories and characters, which I do not really have as a pure CC creator.
Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
Several were or are widely known in the community, most of them moved on to ts4 now and I feel honored to still be on their list! I treasure my mutuals a lot, famous or not! I feel like by dropping names, some people always feel left out, so I’m not going to do that here.
Do you have a crush on a mutual?
If by crush you mean in awe of their talents, then I guess so 🤩 (again, not dropping names) I tag everyone who wants to answer these questions :)

I should make one of these probably. This is NOT a DNI - anyone can follow, but this is a summary for you to decide for yourself if you'd like it here.
Hi, my name is Sailor, I'm 25, and I'm an undergrad student who is double majoring in Social Thought and Political Economy (STPEC) and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) with a minor in African-American Studies and a certificate in Civic Engagement and Public Service. I am a radical leftist and a Marxist who has recently been flirting with anarchocommunism. I hope to go to grad school one day to continue studying and learning, because I want to be a teacher someday (and I really want to help bring the pop university to the US).
I am transmasculine and use they/them pronouns primarily, but will also accept he/him if you're struggling with they/them for any reason. I gay and autistic, but I am also white and do carry that privilege. With this in mind, please ask before tagging me to contribute to a conversation. Not every political discussion is within my wheelhouse, and while leftist and liberatory politics fall firmly into special interest territory for me, I have no desire to speak above people who have more stakes in an issue than I do.
I am a crochet/fiber artist and I'm definitely going to be putting some of my art here. I also intend to open a BigCartel shop (fuck Etsy) for small items I've crocheted, but it's not live yet. I will update this post when it is.
This blog is kind of a mixture of everything. My art, politics, a place where I'll be putting some recommended reading/viewing/book/media reviews (at the time of writing this, I am currently reading Warped: Gay Normativity and Queer Anticapitalism by Peter Drucker and so far I highly recommend it), some miscellaneous fandom stuff, a lot of shitposting, just things I think are pretty or fun (there will be a lot of faerycore and liminalcore here), etc. I don't plan on reblogging porn or anything, but there's definitely some 18+ and 21+ humor here, so if you're a minor it might be best if you just look through my art tag instead of following me. I'm tagging all of my fiber art with #spaghettistitchery, so there's even a convenient tag to work with.
I will gladly engage in good-faith conversations about politics, history, etc., but the key word there is "good-faith". Things I do not consider to be good faith include:
Bootlicking
Playing devil's advocate
Hypotheticals
Tone policing
Peace policing
Liberal and neoliberal ideology in general
Moving the goalposts
Slice-of-the-pie discourse
Anything that discourages solidarity with people who are more oppressed or people living under different conditions from my/your own. Solidarity is a necessary tool of resistance.
Respectability politics
Purity politics - being a comrade does not require knowing exactly the right thing to say, it requires class consciousness and a willingness to learn from those whose experiences you do not share
Etc. This list may be expanded as time goes on.
Unless a post is immediately relevant (current news, mutual aid request, active/ongoing conversation, etc.), I only reblog to the queue so that hopefully this place can be active even if I'm too busy to post. I am a very busy person between school and real-life activism/organizing, and so I might not always get back to you right away if you message or tag me.
If any of my academic writing ever gets published, you also have my permission to DM me to ask for a free copy. If you need help accessing a book or a paper, feel free to DM me and I will use my student privileges to see if I can access a PDF to send you. I hate the inaccessibility of knowledge under capitalism and want to do everything in my power to combat it, and I encourage any other students or teachers on this site to do the same.
Some free resources that are available:
The Marxist Internet Archive - you can access a lot of Marxist texts here, for free, in multiple language.
Libcom.org - Another site where you can access leftist writings, this one focusing more specifically on anarchocommunist texts.
Kanopy - You can watch documentaries for free here with your library card. I definitely recommend using this site and I especially recommend watching Concerning Violence: Nine Scenes from the Anti-Imperialist Self-Defense.
Open Library - If you can't access an in-person library for whatever reason, you can also borrow PDFs for free from here.
Anarcho-Communist Playlist - I didn't make this but I shit you not there's so much here that every time I put it on shuffle I feel like I'm learning a history lesson.
