Boy do I hate that one Tumblr glitch where posts don't show up in the tags and you have to delete and repost the thing again to try and get it to show up.

thinking about theo glaring at you while you argue with him, pouting and crossing your arms about something so trivial. you know that you’re making a scene in front of all your friends, but you didn’t care one bit. this is what theo gets for telling you no.
theo never told you no. you were his pampered little princess, so used to getting his affection and attention any time you wanted it. but now, he was making you wait until after quidditch practice? that wouldn’t do.
so, you put on your tightest crop top and shortest skirt, making a show of chatting up fred weasley out on the field. theo spotted you right away, his jaw clenching as you threw your head back and laughed at whatever that redheaded twat said. it wasn’t long before theo landed beside you, discarding his broom on the grass like it wasn't worth a couple hundred galleons.
your boyfriend shoved fred out of the way and loomed over you. “you’re playing a dangerous game, principessa.”
you huffed, tossing your hair over your shoulder. “you’re the one playing games, theo. fred was only keeping me company because you’re too busy practicing to pay attention to your girlfriend.”
“you’re being a fucking brat and you know it.”
“so?” you challenged, tilting your chin up to glare at him. “what are you going to do about it, theo?”
the taunt didn’t sit well with your boyfriend. without a word, theo dragged you underneath the stands, pressing you against the wooden poles. you squirmed as he caged you in, squeezing your thighs together as theo yanked you by the hair. you whined, pupils dilating from how turned on you were.
“you wanted my attention,” theo growled as his fingers wrapped around your throat. “now you’ve got it.”
you smirked in return, having gotten exactly what you wanted. theo was incensed at the sight of your gloating. “don’t look so smug, bella. i’m going to make you pay for your attitude.”
theo traced your jaw before reeling back and smacking your cheek. you could already see the red handprint bruising your face. the force of it stunned you, but more importantly, it made your core ache, your pussy throbbing and aching for him. your boyfriend smirked, knowing he had the upper hand now.
“open,” he commanded.
you kept your eyes on him as you parted your lips, eagerly awaiting his punishment. theo spit into your open mouth, wet and messy as he claimed you with the degrading gesture.
“swallow,” theo said simply.
shivering at the show of dominance, you did as you were told. theo’s eyes darkened with lust, filled with a hunger that you’ve never seen from him before.
“that’s what I fucking thought.”
theo unbuckled his pants, dropping them around his ankles before roughly shoving your skirt up your waist. your boyfriend gave no warning before he thrusted his cock into your pussy, making you gasp at the sudden stretch. you wrapped your legs around his waist, moaning as he fucked you roughly against the wood.
“not so bratty now, hm?” theo taunted with a dark chuckle as you whimpered in his ear. you felt dazed as his balls slapped against your ass, rattling your brain from how hard he fucked you. “all that talk and yet you’re bouncing on my cock, fucked dumb and speechless. how pathetic.”
“please, theo — need more —“
“please,” theo said mockingly. “that’s all you had to say, principessa. but you don’t seem to have any manners, do you? so used to me giving you everything you want. maybe i’ve spoiled you too much. you have to learn that some things need to be earned.”
theo pulled out suddenly, making you whine. he shot you a warning look before bringing you to your knees. the carnality written all over his handsome face only made you want him that much more.
“now suck my cock like the good little whore you are and i’ll think about letting you cum.”

i need more damian x mer!reader plssss😞😞😞 im literally OBSESSED with it
YOU'RE ALL SUCH SWEETIES!!! Ok gang, just for you 🩷
⚠️ HEADS UP: this part features conflict. There's blood, some unintentional self harm, language barriers, and general chaos! ⚠️
Human!Damian x Mer!Reader Part 4
Click to read parts 1, 2, and 3 here!
There's another rock sitting on the lip of the tank — one of the painted, water-safe ones they let you have — when Damian and Bruce arrive for dinner.
It's the weekend, meaning the aquarium is closed, and it takes a little more smacking on the surface of the water than usual for you to pop up. You shoot Bruce a disinterested glance, his presence vaguely familiar, then chirp sleepily at Damian, evidently having been awoken from a nap.
"Hey, Pr—" Damian catches himself and fakes a cough, then addresses you by your actual name. You furrow your brow, irritated, but still reach forward to take the offered bucket.
Holding it carefully in one arm, your other, webbed hand nudges the rock into Damian's lap. Damian pockets it with an easy nod, signing Thank You. Delighted, you offer him some crab after splitting the shell open with your teeth. He declines. Oh well; more for you!
Eating in front of Damian is little issue, but having Bruce stare at you so intently makes you turn away, hugging the food to your chest and rumbling quietly. Conversation floats in the air behind you.
" — might already be bonded. How often...swim together?"
"At least twice a....insisted it wasn't harming...wouldn't if I realized...promise."
Hmm. Your mate-to-be sounds upset. You dislike that greatly. You spit a half-chewed carp back into the bucket.
"Damian, I know...not mad at you for...unprecedented, you understand that, right? This...to a wild animal...vastly unintelligent..."
You growled and spun back around, tail swishing around fast enough to make the surface of the tank slightly choppy. Unintelligent?! Who was unintelligent? You learned every stupid spin, squeak, and trick you'd been taught! And your Damian was the brightest, kindest, most special caretaker in this whole place!
Bruce looks at you in confusion. Damian looks at you with awe, because he knows you're smart enough to pick up on the gist of most things, like the conversation they're having with each other. English is not your mother tongue, but you are learning, slowly and steadily. Because you are not unintelligent!
You bare your teeth, snapping them twice at Bruce, and firmly push the half-empty bucket over the lip of the tank. It clatters to the floor, the metal twang echoing around the room loud enough to make your head-fins flatten. Both land creatures jump back to avoid getting fish guts all over their legs (a word you learned recently, because you're very smart!), but Damian comes back to the edge of the tank to soothe you quickly.
"Easy, Princess," he mutters, the nickname slipping out this time. You preen and rest your chin on his extended palm, blinking up at his beautiful, green eyes. Your tail stops swishing as hard, and he seems to ease up at the same time you do. Reading your physical cues and responding accordingly is one of the reasons Damian quickly became your favorite, and this demonstration only hits that nail on the head. "Everything is just fine. Father and I are simply talking." He gestures to your discarded dinner. "Do you want any more?"
You huff and turn your face away. Damian takes your dismissal for what it really is and looks at Bruce next.
"You should apologize."
His father's eyes widen. "For what? I didn't throw a bucket on the ground."
"For the slight regarding their cognitive ability. You hurt their feelings." Damian sounds offended on your behalf. It makes something in your chest thrum pleasantly. "I'll fetch a broom for the mess while you say you're sorry."
"I can grab the broom —" one sharp look from his son quiets Bruce down immediately. You and he both watch Damian leave the room, then the human regards you warily while you regard him with a scowl.
Bruce tries to approach the tank. You bare your teeth and he stops. Good human. Good, rude human. Do not approach. You are very scary and fearsome. You might just use your teeth for something more than food if sufficiently provoked.
"You really can understand me, can't you?" He asks, almost rhetorically. The flat look you give him makes his cheeks flush with color. "You can. That's...fascinating. I've skimmed your file of course — I co-run the aquarium, I have to be knowledgeable of all the animals — but I obviously don't know you like my son does."
Ugh. This land creature uses small words. Damian uses big words, which helps you learn faster even if it's more difficult to latch onto what he's talking about.
Bruce calls your name again, and your eyes snap to his. He looks less embarrassed and more curious. More like he's recognizing you as a being capable of proper thought and not some dumb, prey animal in a big play pen. Something in you becomes less tense.
"I'm sorry," he finally says. "Really. I'm coming from a place of concern, is all. I never intended to hurt your feelings. You mean a lot to my son, and the feeling seems to be mutual. My concern is just...the extent of the feeling. Damian doesn't have many human friends, and hiring him on to help manage the aquarium hasn't encouraged him in that regard. I just don't...I just want him to..."
He trails off and sighs. This time, when Bruce tries to take a step closer, you keep your teeth hidden behind your lips. He perches on the lip of the tank to look at you, blue eyes taking in all your aquatic features. They're pretty, reminding you of the water, but not as pretty as Damian's.
Just for fun, you puff up and flare out all of your fins just to see him flinch back. Your chirping laughter makes Bruce crack his own smile, and he shakes his head.
"I understand why he adores you," he mutters, something fond in his tone. You sway back and forth in the water with a prideful trill. Obviously you adore him back. That's why you gave him your scales, to prove your devotion. As soon as Damian gives you something valuable back, you'll be life-mates! You're so excited!
"I think... I think that's the biggest reason why I have to separate you two."
You freeze when your brain processes what he just said. Damian reenters the room at that moment, carrying a broom and dust pan to sweep up your abandoned meal.
"Those imbecilic interns moved the cleaning supplies again," he scowls, taking care of the food with a shake of his head. "I swear, father, no one knows how to put anything back in this facility. Some days it feels like Tim and I are the only competent people here."
"And your old man, right?" Says Bruce, rising to his feet. Damian doesn't answer that. "Oh, ouch." His teasing tone shifts, becomes earnest and quiet. "You know I only want what's best for you, right, Tadpole?"
"I know," the boy sighs, dumping the food into a nearby garbage can. He turns to face you, smiling, until he sees the fear on your face. "Something wrong?"
You click your tongue and whistle imploringly, lifting a hand out of the water to beckon him closer. Damian moves to comply, but Bruce's hand curling around his arm impedes his progress. You immediately whistle again, more insistent. More distressed.
"Father, let go, they're upset by something. Let me —"
"I can't do that, kiddo," Bruce frowns, firmly but not unkindly. "I'm reassigning them a new primary caretaker. The emotional attachment to you is too detrimental to their life here."
Damian's eyes widen. "You're not serious."
He tries to yank his arm out of Bruce's grip, but the man is taller and stronger than his son. He wraps his other arm around Damian's waist, guiding him towards the doors.
"Father, let go of me! This is not — everything is fine! I-I won't swim in the tank anymore, I won't physically touch them anymore, I promise! Don't do this!"
Your trilling becomes sharper as you note the distress in your beloved's voice. You throw your arms up to the edge of the tank and try to hoist yourself over, but you've never done it without the help of a caretaker, and you slip back into the water with a rough splash. Undeterred, you flick your tail to give you more momentum, scrabbling against the smooth, concrete edge and crooning for Damian.
You see his vibrant, green eyes, focused on you and glittering like your scales. They've never looked so shiny. Instinctively, you know this isn't a positive trait for a land creature to have.
"Stop, please stop! Look at them, they'll get hurt if you take me away," Damian insists, thrashing against his dad. Bruce hangs on tighter, almost dragging him at this point. "Don't — don't, Baba, please, I'm not hurting them at all, I'll figure out how to break off the engagement, I'll do whatever you want!"
"Calm down, Damian," Bruce murmurs, "please, we're gonna talk about this, I promise, but right now you need to —"
Both of them startle when you finally jump out of the tank, hitting the floor with a heavy thud. The hard surface scrapes against your skin and scales in a distinctly uncomfortable way, but you ignore it and start dragging your body towards Damian. Your arms buckle under the strain of maneuvering yourself out of the water, and the flopping of your long, heavy tail isn't helping as much as you'd hoped.
Bruce yanks Damian behind him protectively and pulls a radio off his hip. You hiss and snarl, offended that he would dare think you'd hurt him. Damian tries to duck out from under him, calling to you with obvious concern.
You croon back, the sound low and warbly in your anger, and lunge for him. Scales get scraped painfully off of your tail, leaving a trail of red that you pay no mind. Bruce dodges your clumsy attempts and hoists Damian up by the waist so he doesn't break away either. More of your caretakers burst through the doors, one of them holding a funny, shiny contraption, and there's lots more yelling. They all look as panicked and distressed as you feel.
Good. They should know how much pain they're causing by taking away your precious Damian.
One of the caretakers — named Clark, you think; he comes around mostly to do your health checkups — crouches low and flashes his palms in a show of no ill intent. You reach out with your own palm and lurch forward again, shoving him out of your way. He will not impede you. None of them will.
More scales litter the concrete, stained red with blood. The shiny contraption held in another person's hands — Dick, the loud one you remember — makes a sharp popping noise, and you feel something stab your shoulder.
You flinch back momentarily, palming at it. Damian's distressed yelling reaches a crescendo, and you feel compelled to meet it.
Your jaw clicks from stretching your mouth open so wide. Instinct and rage guide you to draw breath, deeper than you ever have, and bellow.
The resulting sound is a haunting wail, piercing the air around you and making the water in the tank ripple, making the land creatures cry and cover their ears, making the windows rattle and warp. You wail and cry and scream at the injustice, at the audacity of these people to take from you what is yours. You want it back. You want him back. You want Damian!
You see Clark buckle and clutch at his head. You see Dick drop the shiny device that hurt you. You see Bruce grit his teeth and cover one ear, the other busy holding onto Damian.
You see Damian pressing his hands to his ears. You see water running down his face. You see him looking at you with a mixture of fear and upset.
Your mouth falls closed with a snap of your teeth, startled and ashamed. You had hurt Damian. You hurt him and he was scared of you now.
That was not supposed to happen. You didn't mean it.
What have you done?
There's movement in your periphery you pay no mind to. Your back lights up with pain in two more places, and the world slowly starts to spin and lose focus. You stop resisting and slump to the floor, eyes drooping as you continue to look forlornly at Damian.
Damian, who looks back as more tears run down his face. Damian, who is screaming again. Damian, who vanishes through the doors that Bruce finally drags him off to.
You warble miserably and close your eyes, letting the sedatives take you away into a fitful slumber.

Charming
James Potter X Gryffindor reader
Kind of Enemies to start with. This one is just a collection of scenes.
Summary: Reader hates James, and James keeps showing up to annoy her.
Warnings: Language, reader loves to flip James off, Lily is not a bad person in this, mentions of injuries,
I once again don't know how to keep things short like is over 8k words so its a long one.
Potter was at it again, bothering Lily that is. Which was no surprise at all, his life’s purpose was to bother Lily and pull obnoxious pranks. He was perched against the black tabletop, arms crossed, and that stupid charming smirk of his was present. He was spewing out nonsense, about what their first date would look like.
“Imagine it, Evans,” his tone dripped with mock sincerity. “Fireworks across the sky, a romantic broom ride under the stars, and—of course—a picnic with the finest butterbeer Hogwarts can offer.”
I rolled my eyes so hard it was a wonder they didn’t get stuck. Of course, Potters’ idea of romance would include the most cliché theatrics. He probably thought he was charming too.
Suppressing the urge to gag at his words, I refocused on the simmering potion before me, carefully stirring the thick, bubbling liquid in clockwise motions. The aroma was faintly herbal, with a sharp tang, it was my only indication I was on the right track.
“James,” Lily said, her voice was sweet but firm like a scolding mother. “I need to help my partner. She can’t do all the work alone.”
Her words pulled his attention my way for the first time their entire conversation. He turned, and for a fleeting second, something softened in his brown eyes. But his trademark grin returned, and whatever glimmer of humanity I’d spotted was gone.
“Oh, I see. Don’t worry, Lily, I’m sure she’s perfectly capable of stirring a pot without supervision. Isn’t that, right?” His tone was light, but there was a condescending edge that made my grip on the spoon tighten.
I shot him a cold glare before flipping him off without a word.
“Charming,” he quipped, that maddening smirk of his only widening. “aren’t you just a little ray of sunshine”
I was tempted to lob the wooden spoon at his head. Infuriating—That’s what Potter was. Every word out of his mouth made me want to throttle him.
Lily let out a heavy sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose. “James really?”
Muttering the word ‘asshole’ under my breath, I skirted around him to retrieve a forgotten ingredient from the shelf at the back of the classroom. I glanced back at our table and Lily was smacking him on the arm, hissing something to him. By the time I returned to our workstation, he’d finally slunk back to his seat beside Sirius, whose shoulders were shaking with barely suppressed laughter.
Lily offered me an apologetic smile. “Sorry, he’s just…James”
“He is arrogant and full of himself.” I replied, dumping in a measure of powdered moonstone into the cauldron. “I can see why you always tell him to booger off.”
“He is cute,” She admitted with a small shrug. “But he has eyes for someone else.”
I almost dropped the spoon. Of all the ridiculous things she could say that had to top them all. Everyone in the castle knew Potter was utterly infatuated with her. It was the topic of every whispered bet in the corridors.
“Right.” I muttered in disbelief under my breath.
Before I could say anymore there was a loud hiss and crackle coming from behind us. My head snapped up just in time to see a plume of green smoke erupting out of Potters and Sirus’s cauldron. Whatever they had brewed smelled noxious.
“Everyone, step back!” Professor Slughorn’s voice boomed as he waved his wand to contain the smoke.
But before I could move, the cauldron gave a final, violent pop. A spray of scalding liquid flew in all directions. I let out a small squeak closing my eyes and bracing for the inevitable burn. Amongst the chaotic noise I swear I heard someone yell out my name.
The pain never came.
A firm grip caught my arm, yanking me back. When I opened my eyes again there was a sizzling green goop right where I was standing. I was met with Potters concerned eyes when I looked up. His signature grin was gone, replaced by an intensity I had never seen before.
“Are you okay?” He asked, voice unusually quiet.
Potter looked me over inspecting for any sort of injury. Both his hands were on my shoulder’s steading my shaking form.
I blinked once, twice, three times, before responding. “Uh… Yeah.”
His hands lingered on me a moment longer before taking a step back, running a hand through his hair. Sirus behind me was laughing so hard he was nearly in tears.
“James, mate that was brilliant!” Sirus wheezed, wiping his eyes.
Potter shot him a frosty look. It was an expression I didn’t know he could conjure; he was always smiling and carefree.
“Brilliant? You nearly got her killed.” He bit out shoving me behind him.
Sirus froze, his laughter dying. “Oh, come on it wasn’t that bad.”
But James wasn’t listening. He turned his attention back to me, his expression softer. “Are you really, okay?”
I nodded mutely, still trying to process what was happening. The boy who annoyed me every waking moment was being… Kind to me?
Potter nodded back before walking out of the room. His shoulders tense.
Lily leaned over, whispering, “See? He’s not all bad.”
I didn’t reply. For once, I was at a loss for words.
The courtyard was peaceful despite the bustling of students crossing through. I sat in a shady patch of grass with an old, but well-loved book.
“Fancy seeing you here,” Potter’s voice rang out, breaking my solitude like a shattering glass.
I let out a groan. He had an uncanny knack for ruining perfectly good days. I didn’t bother looking up, pretending to focus on the words in front of me.
“What do you want, Potter?” I muttered, my tone sharp.
He plopped down on the grass right beside me, stretching out like he owned the place.
“Just enjoying the great outdoors, same as you. Sans the book. I think you read more than Remus.”
I finally looked up; my scowl sharp enough to peel paint. “There’s an entire courtyard for you to ‘enjoy.’ Go find a different patch of grass.”
“But this is the best spot,” he said cheerfully, completely ignoring my attempt to banish him. “Nice shade, quiet atmosphere, good company—”
“You’re impossible,” I cut him off, snapping my book shut. “Do you ever get tired of being... you?”
“Nope,” he replied, popping the P. “And you don’t seem tired of it either.”
I blinked at him, stunned by the audacity. “I literally just told you to leave. What part of that makes you think I like you?”
“Yet you haven’t left.” He leaned in slightly, the smell of sandalwood and vanilla coming from him. “I think you secretly like having me around.”
Potters eyes were twinkling.
“I think you are delusional,” I countered, but my voice cracked slightly. His smile deepened like he’d caught me in some grand confession.
“Delusional, huh? Interesting diagnosis, sunshine”
My head snaped back to him so fast I nearly got whiplash. “What did you- What did you just call me?”
“Sunshine.” He repeated, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. “Fits, doesn’t it?”
He really was delusional.
“No, it doesn’t,” I bit out through gritted teeth. “don’t call me that.”
“Why not? It’s perfectly you. You are so warm and radiant”
My hand clenched around the edge of my book, and for a split second, I considered using it as a weapon.
I stared at him in disbelief. My jaw tightening. “I hate you.”
“Aw, don’t be like that, Sunshine.” his smirk now verging on insufferable. “Deep down, I think you actually like me.”
I stood up so fast he flinched slightly.
“Listen, Potter. I don’t know what twisted game you’re playing, but I’m not interested. Call me that again, and I swear—”
“What? You’ll hex me?” he interrupted, clearly unbothered by any threat I could make. “Go ahead. I’m dying to see what you’d come up with.”
The nerve of this boy.
Instead of dignifying his challenge with a response, I glared harder before turning on my heel and storming off. Behind me, I could hear his laughter following me like an annoying echo.
“See you around, Sunshine!” he called after me, his voice ringing with triumph.
I flipped him off without turning around, my blood boiling.
Sunshine? What an absolutely ridiculous, infuriating nickname. And yet, as I stalked back to the castle, I couldn’t stop replaying the way he’d said it—like it was a joke only he understood.
I hated him. I really, really hated him.
I had managed to keep the Potter interactions to a minimum. I avoided him by ducking behind statues whenever I caught sight of his messy hair or hiding behind Lily when in class. For a moment, I thought I’d finally regained my background character peace.
The Sunshine nickname had stuck much to my dismay. Every time he said it in class, I swear my blood pressure spiked.
Which is why, when the library’s familiar quiet atmosphere enveloped me one late evening, I let myself relax for the fist time in days. This was my slice of heaven. The dim candlelight and the faint scent of parchment was soothing, a perfect backdrop for tackling the mountain of notes piled before me.
“Well, well if it isn’t my favorite ray of sunshine, hiding in the shadows.” Potters voice drawled breaking the silence like a Bludger through a window.
My quill stilled mid-sentence, and I groaned internally.
“Don’t you have someone else to bother?” I pursed my lips pretending to think. “Like Lily perhaps?”
Instead of taking the hint, he pulled out the chair in front of me and plopped down. This took my attention away from the papers in front of me. Potters grin was so smug it could rival the Cheshire Cat’s. How could one person be so obnoxious?
“Lily’s got enough admirers for one day. Besides,” he said, leaning back slinging a toned arm over the chair next to him. “you’re far more interesting.”
“Watch it. Lily is my friend,” I shot back, folding my arms across my chest. “What do you want, Potter?”
“Nothing much,” as he spoke, as he leaned his chair on its back legs. “Just thought you could use some company.”
Company? What about me in a dark corner with books scattered about screams I need company. Potter was an idiot.
A special kind of idiot.
“I don’t need company” I snapped turning back to my notes.
“You sure?” He was leaning forward now. “You seem awfully tense maybe I could help.”
I arched an eyebrow at him unimpressed with his antics. The only person in his group I would accept help from was Remus. He spent more time on schoolwork then I did.
“Unless you have suddenly become an expert in transfiguration theory, I seriously doubt you can help”
Potter hummed before picking up my book.
“Transfiguration, huh?” He tilted his head to the side like a curious dog. The candles reflected off his glasses creating a glare.
“Nope can’t help with that. But I am an excellent distraction from stress.”
“Clearly.” I mumbled, yanking my book back.
He chuckled, a warm sound that I refused to acknowledge as pleasant.
“You don’t have to be so prickly sunshine.”
“Maybe I am prickly because you are insufferable.” I shot back.
I wanted to throw something at him, but the detention was not worth it.
“But I think you mean I am insufferably charming.” He countered.
“As charming as a toad.”
That earned me a loud laugh from him, he was genuinely amused. “Sunshine has jokes, I like this side of you.”
I didn’t say anything just flipped him off. Potter laughed again, the sound carrying through the now empty library.
“Prongs!” Sirius voice rang out from somewhere near the entrance. “Come on, we’ve got rounds.”
James stood up, still looking at me. “Guess I’ll leave you to it, Sunshine.” He winked as he walked away, leaving me wondering what the hell had just happened.
It was about a week later before he spoke to me again. I was on an evening stroll around the grounds enjoying the crisp evening air.
Potter was at the lake skipping stones with his group. They were all laughing and making fun of something. I was to far away to hear. Sirus noticed me first nudging James in the arm pointing in my direction. I narrowed my eyes.
“Sunshine!” He called out. As if were the greatest of pals.
I kept walking, acting like I didn’t hear him. He jogged up the hill quickly falling into step with me.
“What has you in such a hurry?”
“Trying to avoid you and your gaggle of friends.” I was blunt not bothering to soften the blow.
“Harsh,” He clutched his chest dramatically. “You wound me.”
“You will survive, especially if you know, just leave me alone.”
There was a beat of silence.
“You know you could just admit you like me”
I halted my steps and blinked turning mid step. “Why on earth would I do that?”
“Because everyone likes me!” I half expected him to spin with his arms out, but he just shrugged.
The confidence of him. His parents raised an irritatingly confident secure personality.
I rolled my eyes, “That is impossible Potter, because I really don’t like you.”
“Oh, I will grow on you, I promise.” There was a playfulness to his tone.
“Like a fungus, maybe.” I scoffed.
James burst out laughing, the sound wasn’t entirely unpleasant. My lips twitched fighting a smile. He was kind of cute in that moment. The way the setting sun caught in his hair and how he absentmindedly adjusted his glasses made him look... well, charming.
Shaking the thought away, I did what came naturally and flipped him off continuing my walk. This time, though, the gesture was almost playful.
Before I got far, I glanced back and spotted Sirius patting James on the back with a mischievous grin. My stomach sank. They were up to something, and I was undoubtedly their next target.
I steeled myself, pulling my walls higher than ever. I wouldn’t fall victim to whatever scheme they were concocting.
Not this time.
Avoiding Potter from that point on had become a fulltime task. No matter where I went, he showed up with a cheesy pick-up line. Somehow, he was everywhere. Like he had some sort of magical tracker. Which was why I had taken refuge under the shade of a secluded oak tree on the furthest side of the castle grounds. A book clutched in my hands like it was my lifeline of sanity. Lily had recommended it to me. It was a fun muggle mystery. She had called it a classic.
“I think about it a lot you know. What our first date would look like.” Potters annoying voice spoke from above me.
And yet, there he was, like a persistent weed sprouting through the cracks. Of course, the obnoxious boy would find this well-hidden tree. How was he always finding me?
“Umm what?” I sputtered not quite believing what I heard.
“You heard me sunshine.” that damn confidence was back, as if he was going to get what he wanted out of this conversation.
The sun made it difficult to see him, its light blasting directly into my eyes from behind his head, forming a blinding halo around him.
“Stop lying, it’s not cute.” I muttered.
Potter moved to the side; my eyes followed. He was unfazed by my dismissiveness. I closed my book with a snap, no longer able to tolerate being in the same space as him.
“I promise you, I’m not,” his voice still dripping with that unshakeable confidence.
He was up to something, and I had no idea what it was—but I sure wasn’t going to stick around to find out.
“I will believe that hmm… let’s see- never.” I stood up, almost headbutting Potter.
“Sunshine, even if you don’t believe me now, I am good at proving people wrong.”
Before taking my leave, I flipped him off aggressively. The gesture sharp and final, I wanted him to get the message to leave me alone. Usually when someone flips another person off, they get a clue.
But he laughed.
On my way back to the castle I passed by a Sirus Black hiding behind a statue. He was clearly trying (and failing) to stifle a laugh. That confirmed it—they were definitely up to something, and I had no intention of being the butt of their joke.
Potter had taken Lilys seat in potions class. She sent me an apologetic look when I entered. Slughorn wouldn’t be bothered. He just cared that everyone sat and paid attention.
“Guess I am your partner today, Sunshine.” He greeted.
I ignored him, dumping my books on the table with a thud. Ignoring him was not working for me but it was the only thing keeping me from harming him. Potter was like a dog with a bone—relentless.
“Did you know you’re my favorite lab partner?” he added, his voice light, teasing.
“No, and I don’t care,” I muttered, flipping through my notes.
Slughorn us gave us instructions to brew the potion we talked about earlier in the week. I opened my notebook to the vigorous notes I had taken. I got up collecting everything we needed and started the process without a word.
Halfway through and Potter hadn’t moved. He was supposed to be actually helping brew. But he was utterly useless, just sitting there staring at me with his head propped up on his fist.
It was infuriating.
“Merlin! Potter, you need to help me,” I snapped, thrusting the spoon in his direction. The frustration in my voice was impossible to miss.
His only response was a stupid dopy grin, He didn’t flinch, didn’t so much as blink at the spoon an inch from his nose. Instead, that ridiculous grin widened.
"You know, sunshine, if I could brew a potion to make you smile, I would." He winked, and I resisted the urge to hex him.
He was impossible. No wonder Lily always said no—these were the kind of lines you’d expect from a child. What did I do to earn his attention?
“Do these lines actually work for you?” I frowned.
“I don’t know,” he said, his amber eyes twinkling now. “Are they?”
There it was again—his infuriating ability to twist every interaction into a game. I wasn’t playing.
There was no way he was insinuating anything with me. Everyone knew he only had eyes for the redhead—Lily—who just happened to be my actual potions partner. Just a few weeks ago he was at our table bothering her.
“I meant, do they work on Lily?” I clarified, my voice flat.
James tilted his head, feigning confusion, though the mischievous glint in his eyes gave him away. “Why would I care about that?”
For the millionth time since I’d met the boy, I rolled my eyes again.
“For the love of Merlin, just stir,” I hissed, shoving the spoon into his hand.
To my surprise, he actually complied, though he made a dramatic show of it, swirling the liquid as though he were crafting some grand masterpiece.
“See? I’m not completely useless, “his tone insufferably self-satisfied.
I ignored him, turning my attention back to the notes. Sirius let out a snort of laughter, only to be smacked on the back of the head by Remus.
“Get back to work,” Remus muttered, though his lips twitched with suppressed amusement.
It was impossible to ignore the lingering sense that Potter was up to something—and I was the target.
James Potter took it upon himself to sit at my usual dining table. My quiet, little secluded corner—the one that no one really bothered with except Lily and her close circle of friends. He slid into the seat across from me his tie undone.
I raised an eyebrow at him, fork halfway to my mouth. What does he want now?
“Are you made of stardust?” I looked heavenward; his tone was teasing but had a softness. “Because every time I look at you, the world seems to disappear."
I set my fork down, sending him a flat look. “You seriously think I am going to fall for one of your cheesy lines while eating?”
He was persistent to pull of whatever prank they were up to. If only he applied that persistence’s to his schoolwork.
Potter shrugged, but this time there was no playful retort. Instead, his grin faded slightly, replaced by something almost... serious. "Maybe I’m just hoping one will finally catch your attention."
The tone change caught me off guard. I almost believed him. He has been playful and flirty the last few weeks. There was movement a couple feet away that caught my attention. Sirus was leaning against the wall just within earshot.
He looked like he was barely containing a laugh, as though James was the star player in some elaborate joke they’d cooked up.
They were too obvious. My frown deepened.
"Potter, your games won’t work on me,” my voice sharper than I intended. "You’re wasting your time."
His gaze softened further, and for once the playfulness was gone. "Maybe I like wasting my time... if it means I get to spend it with you."
The sincerity in his voice made my stomach twist, and I hated it. Hated how, for a fleeting second, I felt something crack in my resolve. But before I could dwell on it, Sirius snorted loudly from his perch, his shoulders shaking with laughter.
Another pick-up line? Another game? Another performance for his friends?
Potter just didn’t seem to know when enough was enough. My appetite was officially gone, and I had no intention of sticking around to entertain whatever nonsense they were plotting.
“You really don’t get it, do you?” I said slinging my bag over my shoulder. “I’m not just some joke to you and your friends.”
“Wait—” James started, his hand reaching out like he might stop me.
But I didn’t give him the chance. Before he could say another word, I flipped him off and stalked out of the dining hall, not bothering to look back.
The moment I stepped into the corridor, the tension in my chest eased slightly, though my thoughts still churned. It was bad enough that James had inserted himself into nearly every aspect of my day. Classes, hallways, even the library. He was everywhere.
I didn’t know what he and his friends were planning.
And yet, as I made my way through the castle, a new thought began to gnaw at the edges of my frustration. Was this all part of some elaborate ploy to make Lily jealous? A way to grab her attention by pretending to care about someone else?
The idea stung more than I wanted to admit.
Of course, I told myself firmly. That has to be it. Why else would someone like James Potter be wasting his time with me?
Pushing the thought aside, I tightened my grip on my bag and headed for the common room. I wasn’t going to let him—or his stupid, infuriating grin—take up any more space in my head.
Lily my saving grace was in her spot when I entered the potions classroom. Relief flooded through me, and for the first time in days I felt lighter. There she was my red headed angel. With a smile, I dropped into my seat next to her, savoring the normalcy.
“I didn’t think I’d ever be so happy to see your face," I whispered to Lily.
She laughed softly. "James is persistent, isn’t he? I got to class early to make sure I got my spot.”
As if on cue, the door to the classroom opened, and Potter’s messy head of hair appeared. His eyes dulled when he noticed Lily sitting next to me. For a moment, his usual smile faltered, the realization that his plan had been thwarted clearly hitting him. He glanced at me, then back at Lily, shaking his head. I stuck my tongue out at him in playful defiance.
James gave me a half-smile, and made his way to the table behind us.
Lily leaned in closer, her side brushing against mine as she whispered, ““Do you need help getting James to leave you alone?”
I shook my head. “No, he will lose interest eventually.”
She gave me a look before responding. “I doubt that. He has always had his eyes on you.”
I shot her sideways glance. “He was always flirting with you and begging you to date him.”
Her lips curled into a small knowing smile. “Only when I am around you. Which is why I always said no.”
My eyes widened in disbelief, and I almost laughed. “You’re crazy,”
my voice was just above a whisper now.
But as I took in her words, something shifted inside me. We all knew James potter had been in love with Lily for years- He had practically made a sport out of trying to win her over. But hearing her admit that his attention had only intensified when I was around... it felt strange.
I couldn’t help the flicker of discomfort that passed through me at the thought. Why would he suddenly change tactics? I was still convinced he was playing a prank.
Lily nudged me gently, “You’re not as oblivious as you pretend to be, you know.”
I sighed, trying to ignore the strange, fluttering feeling in my stomach. “I’m not oblivious. I just don’t want to deal with it.”
She chuckled softly, her voice full of affection. “You don’t have to deal with it alone. Just know I’m here for you, alright?”
I gave her a grateful smile, leaning in to whisper back, “Thanks, Lil I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
Her smile softened, and she gave my shoulder a gentle squeeze.
The Gryffindor common room was warm and bustling with activity, the fire crackling in the hearth and casting flickering shadows across the walls. Groups of students gathered in clusters, laughing and chatting, while others bent over homework or played games. I had tucked myself away in a corner near the window, the happy buzzing fading into background noise as I doodled in my notebook.
I glanced up when I heard Potters voice, a playful lilt as he joked with Sirius on their way in. My heart sank. My shoulders stiffened, and I hunched further over my parchment, praying he’d move along. Surely, he wouldn’t notice me here.
He made eye contact with me immediately, as if he knew I was there.
The room seemed to hush around me, or perhaps it was just my nerves heightening as his footsteps grew closer.
“I need to talk to you,” he said, stopping beside my chair. There was a resolve in his eyes. Potter was determined right now.
I didn’t make eye contact. “Whatever it is, I’m not interested.”
But he didn’t move. Instead, he crouched slightly to meet my gaze, his usual grin replaced by a more serious expression. “I mean it. Can we talk?”
My patience snapped. My chair scraped against the stone floor as I stood up. “I’m not sure what you and your group are up to,” I said, my voice low.
“But stay away from me. I am not something to play with and laugh at.”
“That’s not what—”
I didn’t want to hear what he had to say. It was probably all lies anyway.
“Save it, Potter,” I cut him off, crossing my arms tightly over my heart.
The usual noise of the common room seemed to fade entirely. I just wanted to be left alone, to return to the peace of being forgotten by most. I was here to get an education, to keep my head down, and leave this castle behind.
His expression faltered, just for a second, before he squared his shoulders. “It’s not a joke. I’m not—”
“I don’t care, I just want to be left alone.”
He sighed, dragging a hand through his messy hair, a nervous tic I’d seen countless times now. “You think I’d go through all this trouble for a joke? You think I’d—”
Potter stopped talking when my eyes flicked to Sirius, who was lounging on one of the sofas, smirking like he found the entire situation hilarious. A look of understanding crossed James’s features.
“Please, Sunshine” his voice softer now, almost pleading. His hand reached out, grasping my wrist as I turned to walk away his fingers brushing against my pulse. “Listen to me.”
I froze, my pulse quickening, but not from fear. No not from fear.
“We aren’t playing some joke. Sirus is always around as moral support. He is a shitty wingman.”
Sirus let out an offended noise.
“Let me go,” I hissed, narrowing my eyes at him. “I don’t trust you.”
When he didn’t release my wrist, I glared and flipped him off with my free hand. His lips twitched, almost into a smile, but the determination in his gaze didn’t waver.
“Go ahead and flip me off, love,” his voice tinged with quiet resolve. “I’ll prove to you that I’m serious.”
The words hung between us like a dare, his amber eyes searching mine for some crack in the wall I’d so carefully built. I was stunned into silence. This wasn’t the James Potter I’d come to expect—the grinning troublemaker who lived for attention and pranks. This was different.
“Prove what?” I said flatly, more a statement than a question.
“That I really really like you,” he replied, his grip on my wrist loosening but not quite letting go. “I’m not playing games. I know I’ve been... annoying.”
An understatement.
“But I need you to know that I’m not doing this to mess with you.”
I snorted, though the sound lacked conviction. “You’re always messing with someone, Potter.”
“Not you,” he said softly.
That stopped me cold. There was no smirk, no teasing edge, just the quiet insistence of his words and the weight of his gaze.
I shook my head, pulling my hand free.
“You don’t have to believe me now,” he said as I stepped back. “But I’ll prove it to you.”
I paused, my heart inexplicably skipping a beat. Then, without another word, I turned and walked away, leaving him standing there.
Things weren’t like before when James Potter was just an annoyance— a loud self-assured presence that demanded attention. Whether you wanted to give it to him or not. No, something was different now, and I was having a hard time making sense of it.
He stopped pestering me in class. There was no interrupting my study sessions or tossing out cheesy pickup lines. Instead, he was actually helping me in class, gave me space when I asked for it, and didn’t push my buttons just for the fun of it.
I couldn’t remember the last time I had flipped him off, and strangely I did miss it.
Part of me hated the change. It felt like losing an old habit. But the other half of me was enjoying the calm side of him. The side of James that was almost thoughtful. Maybe he really wasn’t doing it all for attention or laughs.
I was hidden between bookshelves, shelving the books I no longer needed when I caught the unmistakable sound of Sirus’s voice. It was loud and drifting from a nearby table.
Eavesdropping was bad. I knew that. But my curiosity was piqued and so I took small slow steps, careful to not make a sound.
“She is a lost cause” Sirus was saying, his tone almost sarcastic.
Who is she? Was the ‘she’ me?
“I mean it, James. She always flipping you off and has a permanent scowl. Its hopeless mate.”
Ahh so the she was definitely me. My heart twinged in a way I didn’t expect. I did flip Potter off a lot, but hearing Sirus dismiss me so easily stung.
“Sirus.” James’s tone came out as a warning. “You don’t know her, and you are crossing a line.”
Sirius paused, his grin faltering as he looked at James with a raised hand. “Alright, alright, no need to get all protective. I was just making a point.”
James didn’t respond, his jaw set as he turned back to his parchment, the tension in his shoulders lingered as his quill scratched along the paper.
I ducked back behind the shelf, my heart racing for reasons I did not want to admit. James had defended me to his best friend. Made it clear I wasn’t someone he could get a laugh at.
James wasn’t as bad as I thought he was. There was more to him then the playful antics and relentless charm. And I wasn’t entirely sure how I felt about that.
James had gotten hurt during quidditch practice last night. Lily had casually mentioned he was being kept in the hospital wing for observation. Apparently, they were worried that his head injury was worse than it seemed.
I hated to admit it, but I was worried about him. An annoying flutter in my chest came at the thought of him laying there injured and alone. But how could I just go visit him? Just showing up out of nowhere would seem odd. Especially after I spent so much energy convincing myself, and everyone else, that I couldn’t stand him.
When my notes tumbled out of my bag I had tossed to the side, I found my excuse.
I will make copies of my notes.
Its practical.
Thoughtful.
Not suspicious.
It wasn’t long before I found myself standing in the doorway of the hospital wing, clutching the freshly copied notes nervously. I should leave. This was stupid. Remus would have notes for him when he was released. He didn’t need me.
Before I could back out the door he saw me. His eyes lit up and lips curved upwards into a smile despite the cut on his lip.
“Sunshine, you came to visit.” His voice was warm.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” I shot back, waving the notes at him. “McGonagall asked me to bring these.”
He smirked seeing right through my lie.
“Did she?” he asked, leaning forward slightly. He winced at the motion, and before I could think I was at his bedside.
“Stop moving, you are going to make things worse.” I scolded.
James raised his hands up in mock surrender. “Yes ma’am.”
Rolling my eyes I hesitated for a moment before sitting on the edge of the bed. Up close the injury looked worse. A dark bruise was peeking out over the top of the bandage. A quick pang of sympathy ran through me.
James must have noticed my expression, because his pupils softened.
“You know,” he said a teasing lilt to his tone, but nothing over the top. “I’d get hurt more often if it meant you’d visit me like this.”
Without warning I reached out, brushing his stray curls away from his forehead. They were softer than I had expected.
“Don’t be stupid,” I muttered, handing him the notes.
As he reached out to take them, his fingers brushed against mine. The contact was brief, but it sent a jolt through me. I pulled my hand back immediately, pretending to adjust the hem of my sleeve.
“You’re ridiculous,” my words lacked their usual bite.
“Ridiculously happy to see you.” he countered, grinning in that familiar, infuriating way.
Groaning, I shifted to stand up, but his hand caught mine, gently pulling me back down. This time, I didn’t pull away. I let his fingers curl around mine.
“Thanks for coming,” His thumb brushed lightly against the back of my hand, a gesture so simple and tender that it caught me off guard.
I swallowed hard, my throat suddenly dry.
“It’s just notes.”
“It’s more than that,” he replied, his eyes holding mine. “It means something.”
I didn’t know how to respond, so I let the silence stretch between us. When I finally pulled my hand away so he could rest, I missed the warmth of his touch.
“Well,” I said, standing. “Don’t get used to it.”
“We’ll see about that.” He winked.
“Get some rest Potter.”
“What will it take for you to call me James?”
I paused at the foot of his bed, glancing back at him with a smirk.
“We will just have to see,” I quipped.
Something had shifted, and there was no going back.
The biting cold of the Forbidden Forest seeped through my robes as I stumbled over a twisted root. I barley caught myself before face planting into the dirt. My wand was clenched into a death grip, the dim glow of Lumos casting a little more then a pale circle of light. Shadows stretched in every direction, distorting the trees into looming specters. It was an endless sea of black.
Shit, shit, shit.
“Brilliant,” I grumbled to myself attempting to lighten my mood with sarcasm. “Absolutely brilliant.”
Class had ended ages ago. The castle was surely alive with the hum of dinner, but I was lost, hungry and beyond exhausted. My arm throbbed where I had scraped it against a jagged branch, and panic began to set in. Now would be a great time for James to magically appear like he always did.
A sudden rustle nearby caused me to freeze in place. My heart was beating against my ribs rapidly. I slowly moved the light in the direction the sound came from.
There was a low growl from somewhere in the darkness. My breath caught in my throat. I was going to die here.
And I ran.
I didn’t know where I was going, but staying felt like an early invite to my grave. Twigs snapped under my feet; the cold air stung my face.
A bright white beam of light pierced through the trees, and a frantic voice followed.
“Sunshine, where are you?”
Relief flooded through the me my knees buckled.
“I’m here!” I called out my voice trembling. I was going to cry.
The growling stopped abruptly, and there was hurried footsteps making their way to me.
James burst into view, his wand raised high, and his hair was a mess more so then usual. His white button up was disheveled and stained, as if he had plowed through every branch in his path to get to me. His wild eyes locked on mine, and his entire body sagged with visible relief.
But only for a moment.
In a heartbeat, his hands were gripping my shoulders, his gaze scanning me from head to toe.
“Are you hurt?” he demanded, his tone rough with worry.
Before I could answer his hands moved to my face, gently pushing back stray strands of hair. His touch was warm, a stark contrast to the icy air. A shiver ran through me, though I wasn’t sure if it was from the cold or something else.
I shook my head, trying to find my voice.
“I’m fine.” I whispered.
“Merlin’s beard,” he muttered, pulling me into a tight, impulsive hug.
The sudden contact startled me. James Potter, the boy who loved a good laugh at my expense, was hugging me like his life depended on it. His arms were strong and steady, and for a moment, the situation didn’t feel so terrifying.
I didn’t pull away. Instead, I let myself sink into the warmth of him. My hands found their way to his back, clutching the fabric of his shirt as I breathed in the scent of sandalwood and vanilla.
“You scared the hell out of me.” He mumbled into my hair.
James was the first to pull away, his hands lingering on my arms looking me over again. Like he was checking for hidden injuries.
“You have a cut.”
The way he said it was so soft I almost missed it.
I’d forgotten about it until he mentioned it. Glancing at my arm, I saw the dried blood and torn sleeve. “It’s nothing,” I said quickly, not wanting to make a fuss. “I just need to clean it.”
James frowned, clearly not satisfied with my answer. He stepped closer, holding his wand up to examine it. The warmth of him was back, his presence grounding me.
“What are you even doing out here alone?” he demanded, exasperation creeping into his tone.
“I—I got lost,” My cheeks burned at my admission. “I was late for class, and I thought I found a shortcut.”
He stared at me like I’d grown a second head. “A shortcut? Through the Forbidden Forest?” His voice rose slightly, incredulous. “Do you have any idea how dangerous—” He cut himself off, running a hand through his already messy hair yanking on it a bit.
“I didn’t mean to cause a panic,” I said quickly. “Or waste your time.”
James froze, his jaw tightening. For a moment, he said nothing, his wand hand trembling slightly as he lowered it. “Waste my time?” he repeated, his voice low, almost bewildered.
I winced.
“Waste my time?” he said again, his words sharper this time. He stepped closer, his eyes locking onto mine with a fire I hadn’t seen before.
“Sorry.” I squeaked out.
The way he was acting caught me off guard. I looked over his shoulder and into the dark, the weight of his concern was overwhelming.
I figured the only person who would notice me missing was Lily.
“Don’t you get it?” His hands found my face again, his thumbs brushing over my cheeks. “I know you don’t believe it, but I care about you. You stubborn, brilliant, infuriating woman. That’s why I came running the second I heard you were missing.”
My breath hitched, the weight of his words crashing into me like a wave. His touch was gentle, grounding, but his gaze was unrelenting, raw, and unguarded.
After a long moment, he pulled back slightly and extended a hand. “Come on,” he said softly. “Let’s get out of here before you catch your death.”
I hesitated, my eyes lingering on his outstretched hand before placing mine in his. His grip was firm, steady, and when his fingers curled around mine, they held on like he was afraid I might disappear.
As we walked through the trees, his thumb brushed lightly against the back of my hand—a quiet reassurance that made my chest ache in a way I wasn’t ready to examine.
For the first time, James Potter didn’t feel like an annoyance. He felt like a lifeline.
Gryffindor won the quidditch game. Our common room was alive with the hum of celebration. Streamers of crimson and gold were lazily thrown up around the space. Cheers erupted from everyone when the team entered the crowded dance area.
I stood off to the side, cradling an empty cup, at the edge of the room away from the crowd. Lily, was perched in the chair beside me. She laughed at a first-year attempting to smuggle an oversized barrel of butterbeer across the room. A sixth-year intercepted it with a laugh, stowing it out of reach.
It was enough to distract me from the figure weaving through the crowd.
James.
He towered over most of the cluster of people, his curly hair unmistakable, still damp from the post-match shower. His Quidditch jersey clung to his frame, the number on his back catching the light. He looked every bit the victorious captain, and the sight of him sent an uninvited warmth through my chest.
“What’s with the brooding? We just won! You should be grinning like that prat over there.” Lily asked shoving a full glass in my hand. She pointed to James who was laughing with his gaggle of friends.
“I’m not brooding,” I replied, taking a sip. “Just enjoying the chaos from a safe distance.”
“If that’s what you want to believe.” She winked, already dancing away toward the center of the room.
James appeared in front of me, his grin widening when our eyes met.
“There you are, Sunshine. Thought you’d gone into hiding.”
That warm, teasing lilt had become as familiar as the sound of my own heartbeat.
“Someone has to make sure you lot doesn’t burn our living space down.”
He chuckled.
“But, not hiding,” I replied, glancing over his shoulder. “Just... thinking.”
He leaned casually against the wall beside me his foot brushing mine, but there was something softer in his expression tonight. His warm brown eyes held a warmth that sent a flutter through my chest.
“Care to share what’s on your mind?” his tone curious.
I hesitated, swirling the liquid in my glass. “It’s just... a lot to take in. Everything’s been so—different.”
James tilted his head, a small smile tugging at his lips. “Different how?”
I turned to face him fully, “You. Us. Everything. Just three months ago, I couldn’t stand you.”
“And now?” he asked, his voice quieter, the teasing edge gone.
I bit my lip, suddenly feeling shy under his gaze. “Now... I’m not sure I ever did.”
His grin widened, but it wasn’t cocky or self-assured like the ones he used to flash at me in the past. This one was softer, filled with something that made my heart ache in the best way.
“I’d say that’s progress,” he murmured, stepping closer. His hand reached out, brushing a stray strand of hair behind my ear. His fingers lingered, against my skin.
I let out a breath I hadn’t realized I’d been holding. “You’re not going to make a big speech about how you knew I’d come around eventually, are you?”
He chuckled, the sound low and comforting. “Not tonight.”
“Good.”
We stayed there for a moment, neither of us speaking. His eyes brighter then usual.
“Enjoying the celebration?” he asked trying to act casual about my confession.
“It’s... lively,” I said, unable to hide a small smile.
He raised an eyebrow, feigning offense. “We just crushed Slytherin, I think it’s more than lively.”
I shrugged, taking a sip of my butterbeer. “It was a decent match.”
I couldn’t help but tease him.
“Decent?” He leaned forward, his knees pressing more firmly against mine. “You’re impossible, you know that?”
“I can’t make things to easy for you Potter.”
His grin softened, and for a moment, the noise of the room seemed to fade. “You never do.”
James moved back a half step. “Take a walk with me?”
“Ok.”
He didn’t ask just grabbed my hand navigating us through the crowd. We didn’t stop walking till we were outside strolling through a field of grass. The stars were bright and beautiful tonight. It was almost romantic.
“You know,” he began, his tone light, “I was thinking.”
“Dangerous territory,” I teased, the corners of my mouth lifting.
He laughed, the sound warm and familiar. “Maybe. But I was wondering what it might take for you to stop calling me Potter.”
I raised an eyebrow. “What will it take for you to stop calling me Sunshine?”
He grinned, pulling me closer. “Never. That’s non-negotiable.”
“Then I guess you’re stuck with ‘Potter.’”
He hummed thoughtfully, lacing our fingers together. The simple gesture sent a comforting sensation coursing through me that no spell could replicate.
“What makes you think you’ve earned us being on a first name basis?”
“Scoring the winning goal isn’t enough?” he asked, mock-offended.
“Not even close.”
He leaned in slightly, his voice dropping just enough to make my stomach flutter. “Then what if I told you I’d do whatever it takes?”
“You are persistent.” I laughed.
“Only for you.”
James usual playful retorts absent in his tone.
I looked up at him, my breath catching at the way his eyes searched mine.
“Maybe just maybe I don’t mind that anymore.” I added, just loud enough for him to hear.
His grin returned, but this time it was softer, almost shy. “Does that mean I can finally take you on that first date?”
I hummed tapping my chin, pretending to think about it. “Maybe.”
I had the teasing tone now.
He laughed, his thumb brushing against my hand. The world seemed to still as he leaned in, stopping just short of my lips. The question in his eyes was unmistakable. I nodded, barely visible.
When his lips met mine, it was like every piece of the puzzle I hadn’t known was missing finally clicked into place. His hand came up to cradle my cheek, the kiss warm and steady, filled with a kind of tenderness I hadn’t realized he was capable of.
When we pulled back, his forehead rested against mine, and I felt his smile against my skin.
“Finally,” he whispered, his breath tickling my nose.
I giggled shaking my head. “Don’t ruin the moment, Potter.”
“James,” he corrected.
“James,” I echoed, and it felt right in a way I couldn’t explain.
“That wasn’t so hard, was it?”
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t hide my smile. “Don’t let it go to your head.”
“Never.” He placed a quick kiss on my lips.

slytherin boys react to being called 'daddy'
I'm not a writer i'm just kinky | chars always aged up | unedited includes: theo, mattheo, and enzo. minors dni | pure filth | F! reader implied
Theo:
Theo doesn't ask to be called daddy, and you're too shy to approach it. That is, until a late-night study session in his dorm room unsurprisingly turns into a heated makeout session between the two of you.
Theo has you perched on his desk with your legs spread so he can settle between them. His blue eyes pierce yours, and the lust in his expression is unmistakable.
With one of his hands caressing your cheek, the other moves lower to ghost over your thighs, searching for the go-ahead from you to continue. This growing pit in your stomach to ask a certain question finally boils to the surface.
"Can I call you daddy?" you blurt out, almost immediately regretting the words as they leave your lips.
Theo's stare doesn't waver as his fingers then move to press against the fabric of your panties over your folds.
"Just the thought of calling me that leaves you so fucking wet for me, doesn't it, principessa? Of course you can. now be good for daddy, and let me feel that perfect fucking pussy."
Mattheo:
This man is super upfront about wanting to be called daddy. In fact, he would refer to himself as 'daddy' first to test the waters, hoping to see if you respond well. A few times, he tries off-handedly to find out, and you appear a little hesitant.
Then, one fateful evening, after too much teasing on your end, you find yourself getting railed into his mattress. Mattheo holds onto your waist with a bruising grip as he pounds into you at a merciless pace, sending a sharp smack to your ass as he asks, "You like how daddy fucks you, huh? You like being daddy's little fucktoy?"
"Yes, daddy! please fuck me," you babble obediently in response. In your dumbed-out, cock drunk state, calling him daddy becomes the hottest thing you've ever said. Mattheo, of course, agrees, letting out a low growl and fucking you even faster as you continue to scream it.
"Atta girl, that's what I am, your fucking daddy," Mattheo praises you, showering you with more praises and degradations until finally filling you until you're leaking with his cum.
Enzo:
Enzo had rudely disrupted a tutoring session you were taking from another male student when he had judged that the boy was 'too close for comfort.' Feeling exasperated by his possessive side, you chew him out, causing him to bring you to the nearest broom closet and order you to your knees to get facefucked. You watched him unbuckle his pants eagerly, having no complaints about his chosen method to punish the brat out of you.
Enzo uses a makeshift ponytail of your hair to bob your head up and down the entire length of his cock for some time. He eventually pulls you away in order to take in the beautiful sight of your wet eyes as you stare up at him, waiting for more commands.
"You look so fucking beautiful on your knees for me, you know that? So damn perfect. And you're fucking mine, remember that?"
"Yes, daddy, I'm yours."
It just slipped out. Neither of you had even approached the subject, though it had been stirring in your subconscious for some time, which explains why it came out when you were desperate to please him.
Enzo's eyes flashed with surprise for a mere second before he let out a guttural moan and brought your lips back to his cock to continue thrusting into your mouth.
"You want me to be your daddy, huh? Fuck, doll, that's so fucking hot," he groaned, clearly closer to his orgasm than before you had said that magic word.
"Be good for your daddy now and keep throating me like the pretty slut you are."

Part 2
Part 1
Alastor X Reader
Warnings⚠
⚠ Alastor is still annoying lol, Husk is not having it, italics=thoughts, reader gets pissed ⚠
Husk felt confident that Alastor would stop being annoying. It was in the contract that he couldn't touch you. He had to follow the contract.
Of course the asshole found a loophole.
"Dear, do be careful.", the deer guided you away from broken glass.
"Alastor..", you said in a deadpanned tone. "I have to clean that up."
"Yes but I just wanted to remind you the dangers of handling broken glass.", he smiled at you and turned to grin smugly at the cat behind him.
Fucking hell.
"I know how to handle glass.", you said and started to sweep up the mess.
"Very well, I'll stop pestering you about glass."
You were of course oblivious to Alastor's games.
Husk knew that he should have been more specific so that the smiling asshole couldn't touch you at all.
"Hey, squirt."
"What?", you responded, finishing up sweeping the trash.
"Go to where the Princess is. I'm pretty sure she wanted you to do something upstairs.", he says with a shooing motion.
"Ok, I'll go up after tossing this out.", you said and went towards the staff only hallway.
"Don't worry about it.", your brother said and went to take the dust pan from you. "Just head over now."
"What a good older sibling you are!", the red dressed demon commented with a smile.
You glanced between the two, feeling a weird tension in the air.
"Ok...", you leaned the broom against one of the couches. "Don't kill each other while I'm gone.", you say before going upstairs.
After making sure his sibling was far enough, the cat demon growled and glared at the Radio Demon. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?", he said with clenched teeth.
"I'm doing what I'm allowed to!", Alastor said cheerfully and walked over to the bartender. "So, obviously I am touching them when necessary, like moving them away from danger.", he reached out to scratch behind one of Husker's ears.
"Stop fucking playing!", Husk yelled, smacking the deer's hand away. "They aren't your toy or pet asshole! SO LEAVE THEM THE FUCK ALONE!"
Alastor's smile twitched slightly.
Who is this demon to tell me no? I own the cat, so they just had to suck it up and follow along.
"I think you're forgetting one tiny, but ever so crucial, little detail?", the red demon grew taller, static crackling loudly. "I OWN YOU."
"I know.", Husk hissed out. "But I won't let you do anything to them."
.
You headed back to the lobby confused.
Charlie hadn't called for you at all but she did let you know that you would be getting a different job soon.
Why did he lie? You wondered and turned a corner to get to the stairs.
That's when you felt your fur stand on end, static noise making you shiver and cringe.
Rushing towards the lobby, you saw Alastor take a threatening step towards your brother in his taller demon form. In the moment, it didn't matter if the red demon was one of your bosses or not, you would protect your brother.
Standing between the two, you growled and hissed at the deer demon, fur bristling and tail flicking back and forth.
"BACK THE FUCK UP."
Husk quickly held on to you and tried to pull you back. "No! Stay back, let me handle this!"
You stayed put, still glaring up at the red demon.
Alsastor looked at you in an odd way before he shrunk back to size and fixed his coat. "Ahem, apologies.", he held his hands behind his back. "I didn't mean to give you such a scare!"
Still annoyed, you squinted your eyes at him and finally let your brother take you away from the lobby.
Once getting to somewhere private, Husk immediately shook you by your shoulders. "WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING KID!?"
You shook your head and moved his arms off of you. "I was thinking of getting you out of there!", you huff. "Look, I know he's the Radio Demon. I know you have some fucked up deal."
Husk tries to interject.
"NO! No, I am not done!", you point at him. "I know somewhere in that deal you made has my protection and that's why Alastor has been so weird when it comes to me. He wants to bug and annoy you for fucking shits and giggles.", you take a breath and brush your ears down to settle your anger. "I've been worried about you ever since you stopped talking to me. What happened at your casino?"
He turns away from you and takes a moment before sighing.
"I lost almost everything..", he grumbled. "I had to make a deal to save my power."
You placed a hand on his shoulder.
"But just because I'm stuck in a bind, doesn't mean you jump into my battles.", he glares at you. "I can handle the smiling piece of shit."
With a roll of your eyes, you turn him to face you completely.
"That's what I've been trying to tell you since getting here.", you hold his claws. "I can fight my own battles, sure I might need help at times but I'll ask you when I do. I know the dangers, I know the risks, I know my limits.", you let go. "But to you I'm just still a defenseless kid.."
"You'll always be my little sibling. Of course I'm gonna think of you as a kid.", he sighs. "But I'll stop giving you shit for some stuff.", he points a claw at you. "You hear that? Some."
"Yeah, yeah.", you smile and hug your brother.
He pats your head and both of you enjoy the peace.
For a second.
"Ok, now get off.", he says.
"Nah, you can handle a few more seconds.", you say and don't let go.
"Awww~"
Both of you get hugged from behind by Angel.
"Look at how soft you are around them~", the spider pinches your brother's cheek with one of his hands, turning his head to look at you. "You should hang around him more often."
"Get your ass off me.", Husk grumbles and moves out of the hug.
"But Husky~!", Angel whines as he clings onto your brother. "You are just sooo cute!"
You laugh as the two go back and forth with their banter, happy that your brother is ok.
Meanwhile, Alastor went up to his radio tower.
The shadows in the room curling and twisting around, the radio static getting louder and louder that it numbed out the sounds from outside.
Something had changed.
Please let me know if you don't find your tag!
~Seline, the person.

How about Sebastian nonconing a new maid?
tw: noncon, power imbalance, age difference, punishment, light degradation, manhandling
All characters depicted are 18+
While the gentleman doesn't show it on the outside, whenever he sees an incompetent servant, he just wants to wring their neck. Sebastian was already reaching the limit of his patience when it was just Mey-Rin tripping and breaking the fine china, but now that the estate has recently hired a second clumsy maid, Sebastian doesn't feel the need to hold back with the new hire.
He truly does attempt to keep up his suave butler facade in the face of her bumbling incompetence, going easy on her because she's new and only gently reprimanding her mistakes, but Sebastian's patience doesn't last very long.
Any pretense of patience is completely shattered however when she trips and knocks over a priceless vase that has been in the Phantomhive family for generations, now completely shattered due to one maid's idiocy. It's hard to tell that Sebastian is mad, he simply gives his usual closed eyed smile, the vein throbbing in his forehead only concealed by his dark bangs.
He'll maintain his sweet fake smile when he gently leads her away under the pretense of a normal punishment, such as a literal smack on the wrist, but instead of a fairly normal disciplinary measure like she expected, she pushed her into the broom closet and locks the door behind him, and she can swear that his amber eyes are now a glowing red color.
"There are limits to how much idiocy I can allow, little miss. Thanks to your foolishness I'm going to be scolded by our Young Master. I'll have to teach you a lesson..."
Sebastian won't fully expose his true nature to her, at least not physically, but he'll be truly demonic when he has his way with her, his sharp claw-like nails will dig into her hips through his gloves as he forces his cock into her quivering hole, having his way with her where anyone could overhear, being the distinguished butler he is, Sebastian won't make too many lewd noises.
He'll only occasionally make noises if he's feeling especially pleasured or if he wants to scold her again, chastising her for making him lose his composure and forcing him to discipline her in such a manner, while simultaneously acting like him using her body is just him going about his obligations as the head butler of the household, one of said duties being to keep unruly servants in line.
While not a quick shot by any stretch of the imagination, Sebastian doesn't want to dawdle for too long, she's little more than a distraction from his chores, so he's going to be rather quick with her, his bigger body pounding against her slight frame as he fills her up with his throbbing cock and demonic essence without any mercy or remorse.
Sebastian hates to make a mess, so he'll cum directly inside of her, not wanting to leave any unsightly stains or evidence of their encounter on her maid uniform, so he'll make sure that she doesn't spill a single drop of his seed before he pulls out and sends her on her not so merry way.
"There we go, maybe that will teach you to watch where you're going in the future. Now you're dismissed, go back to your duties, little one."
Sebastian's opinion on her will take a much different turn after their lovely little 'talk', while she's still his least favorite fellow servant, she is now his absolute new favorite toy.

Determination
◯ Cho Hyun-ju x Fem! Reader
△ Alt!Universe— Setting her determination as first she manages to call in hopes of your promise
▢ just a cute phone call :p (give me date ideas)
Cherish
⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯
Thank you for all the support on cherish so here is the longer await part two ^^
⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯ ⎯
Deep breath, you’ve got this. Hyunju thought as she stared at your phone number, she can call you she can definitely do it. But what stopping her? Is it the thought you of not answering? Or what if you’re busy and she calls at the wrong time? What if you think she is a scam caller and block her?
Groaning in frustration she buries in face into her hands rethinking the wonderful moment you shared yesterday. Bringing a smile to her face she peeks though her fingers and get one more good look at your number but while scanning the paper her eyes land on the heart again.
Blushing and biting back her smile she sighs in delight. This is a good thing your finally coming out of your shell she thought to herself while she reaches out for her phone yet again.
Pushing in your digits she decides to put her determination first. Her determination of cherishing you. Her determination of finally and hopefully being happy.
Press call…it’s ringing…
“Hello?” A tried but delicate voice answers. It’s the voice she remembers from the coffee shop that said she was going to keep her sugar hostage if she didn’t text.
Trying to form words she lets the most embarrassing thing come out.. “Your sugar right?.”
“Huh?!?!” Hyunju immediately slaps herself on the forehead upon hearing your shock…what did she just say..?How can she mix up your name with sugar? How do you feel? Because basically someone you probably don’t remember just called you sugar…
“Umm…did you maybe get my phone number from a hooker called sugar?” She could hear your giggles but she won’t steep that low to get a hooker’s number.
“I’m so sorry..it just you told me to text you if not your going to keep the sugar hostage but then I asked if I can call you and you yes if I did I can buy you coffee but then the sugar stayed in my mind so I called you sugar.. I’m so sorry I didn’t mean that.” Hyunju rapping that out of mouth with a cry of embarrassment in her voice. She wanted to bury herself six feet under right now.
“Ohh Hyunju Unnie!” You said with excitement and relief wait did she just say she didn’t mean it…
You hear a hum on the other line but you quickly cut it off “So I’m not sugar..?” You asked in a teasing tone in hopes of getting the reaction you want.
“Yes ofc your sweet and kind like sugar but It’s just that I didn’t—” you can hear her panicking over the other line but she stops once she hears you laughing… smacking her lips she asks “are you teasing me?” You could almost hear her expression drop.
“Oh of couseee NOT! “ she can basically she your nose grow like Pinocchio though the call, though she may not know much about you. You’re not a good liar, you’re by far one of the worst and that makes her happy. Because everything that went down yesterday seems to not be a lie.
“Hmm if you say so, but say your the best kind of sugar” Hyunju couldn’t help but bite her lip as she tested the water with that tho you couldn’t help but smile and giggle “You are way more flirtatious than I thought” you had to admit.
“So you been thinking about me?” She couldn’t help but smile while holding but a small screech.
“Oh…I guess it’s my turn to be embarrassed.” you couldn’t help but feel the blood rush to your cheek but continued “Though your one of my best thoughts I do have to say.”
It’s was now Hyunju turn to feel the blood rush to her cheeks and she just froze meanwhile you screamed into your pillow scaring your roommate.
“Y/N! What happened” youngmi came running in with a broom looking like she was go attack if needed but she just saw you yelling into your pillow about admitting something.
Trying to catch your breath “I just admitted to someone very very pretty that’s she my best thought” you whined out “isn’t that a good thing?” She questioned while her face scrunched up. “I don’t know maybe! I mean I just met her a few days ago.. and I don’t wanna be pushy you know?” she saw your lip trembling again so she just threw the broom at you tried of your shit and snatching your phone.
“Hello, I’m so sorry my roommate y/n is stupid when it comes to people her type. Though I should mention please take her away, you can keep her.” wait ‘her type’ does that mean Hyunju is your type? Is that why you’re thinking about her?
Trying her hardest to not overreact Hyunju thinks fast for a reply “Um I can’t promise you that? What if she doesn’t want to?” Like come on Hyunju just can’t keep you because someone told her though she won’t mind. What is it that you want I mean if you want her to keep you she will.
“Oh trust me, she does…” youngmi says while side eyeing your overreaction. “You would be supporting a great cause!”
“What cause?” Hyunju said with curiosity like what in the world can that benefit. “The youngmi stress free cause!” She said out loud aimed at you to hear but all that happened was more screaming from you.
“I don’t think I’ve heard of that cause but I can for sure take her out for coffee, lunch, or dinner.” She might have been too scared to mention “date” cause who knows if it’s too early for that word.
“YOU HEARD THAT STUPID YOU GOT A DATE!” Well so much for too early. But what Hyunju heard next bought a big smile to her face.
“What!! Really?!?! All that manifesting work!”
“Hey stupid, guess what” youngmi said with an evil smirk causing your smile to drop.
“Is this another joke..?”
“Nope, you still on call with your soon to be girlfriend and you yelled all that” youngmi couldn’t contain her laughter anymore and passed you back your phone as she left your room.
“So um..about that date? This weekend?” You asked with hope of her not canceling after that whole ordeal. But all you heard was a beautiful giggle “you’re so cute, but yea this weekend.”
You both spent the next few hours getting to know each other bit better before your big date but when it was time to say goodbye the only thing you both could do was pout and promise to text each other till the weekend once you see each other again.

summary: spencer doesn't want to get hurt, too bad it hurts you in the process
pairing: spencer reid x fem reader
warnings: spencer's a dick in this, reader puts him in his place :)
-------------------------
You were the new office genius. You’d just joined straight out of the academy, but with your genius, and your experience, you’d been brought straight to the BAU.
What experience, you may ask?
Your psychiatry and psychology degrees, oh, and the eidetic memory, IQ of 190, and Hyperthymesia you had.
And the experience you’d had with a certain serial killer. Your father, Jason O’Neill, had been caught a few months ago, and after that you’d been given a full-time position. You got on well with the team, though one clearly didn’t like you. Dr. Spencer Reid. Apparently he was your equal in intelligence, though you never knew, he refused to speak to you. You probably had a more bubbly personality than the BAU regularly hired, but that had been disproven upon meeting Penelope, the Technical Analyst.
He just didn’t like you. Oh well. It wasn’t going to ruin your life. You didn’t really give a shit.
He gave a shit. He cared far too much.
“Spencer, I’ve got your coffee, extra sugar,” you smiled as you handed out the drinks you’d brought the team from the cafe down the road from the small police station. You handed it to him, not waiting for an answer, he never gave one.
Emily kicked him under the table. “What’s with you two?”
Spencer rolled his eyes and went back to his book. “Nothing.”
“She’s the nicest person on this team Spencer, yet you treat her like she’s just there for decoration.”
“She’s only good for two things, getting coffee, and keeping quiet,” he snapped, not realising you were behind him. You frowned, then hit him over the head with your bag as you were walking past, not sparing him a glance.
Honestly, Spencer was practically in love with you since the second he’d met you. You were perfect, gorgeous smile, always something kind to say, always an interesting fact on your beautiful lips. He thought he could listen to you talk forever. Your voice made his day. Your eyes on his made him feel things he never thought he’d be lucky enough to feel.
But he’d never let his guard down again. Not after Maeve. Never again.
He’d rather be alone, though everyday you became more tempting.
Everyday he wished he could be with you.
Everyday, just like today.
-------------------------
“Doctor,” Your voice rang through the precinct. “Aaron wants you.”
In recent weeks you’d adopted calling him ‘Doctor’, rather than Spencer. His name from your lips often went straight to his heart, he was a romantic, after all. Now ‘Doctor’ sounded clinical and impersonal. It was maddening.
He didn’t answer, he just stared at his book, making his stand.
“Doctor Reid, Aaron wants you,” You stated, standing beside him. “Reid-”
“Say my name,” he deadpanned, staring at his book, but not reading the words.
“I just did,” you scoffed. “We aren’t school children, go to Aaron.’
You called everyone else by their first name, why not him? He knew the answer of course, but it still didn’t take away from his curiosity. Why had it affected you so much?
“Can you stop being a huge asshole for one day and just treat me like I’m a person and not just something here for you to fuck with? I deserve a spot on this team just like you do,” you boomed, smacking his book out of his hands.
“I don’t think you do,” he said, standing up to his full height.
“Well I guess it’s your lucky day because I’m leaving in a week,” you snarled back, then walked off to go back to the rest of the team.
What? You were leaving?
Spencer caught up to you in 4 quick steps and he pulled you to the side of the corridor, shading you both from prying eyes in a broom closet. “You’re leaving?”
His eyes were frantic and… scared? You’d never seen him look at you with anything other than indifference, so this was quite the change.
“Yes.”
“Why?” He pleaded.
“Why? You are seriously asking why I’m leaving?” you sarcastically sighed. “Gosh, I guess it was that the coffee’s shit, or maybe it was the fact that I work in a hostile working environment!”
“That’s corporate bullshit-”
“No. It’s your bullshit. I have been nothing but kind to you in my few months here and every day it’s the same blank stare and shitty comments. Go fuck yourself Doctor Reid.”
You tried to pry out of the grip he had on your shoulders, but you couldn’t. He stood there, shocked and shameful at his actions.
“I-I’m sorry,” he sighed, letting go of you to run his hands through his hair. “I’m such an idiot.”
“Yeah, you are. Now if you’ll excuse me-”
“I’m in love with you,” he admitted.
“Pardon?” You squeaked, jaw-dropped.
“I’m in love with you… a-and I didn’t think it was a good idea because the last time I was involved with someone like that-”
“Spencer, I don’t care. I’m leaving the BAU. For good.”
Spencer’s stomach sank. He was too late. You waited for a minute as he just stared at you. He was trying to process it, realise his mistakes, and find a way to make you stay in a 15 second window.
“Bye Spencer,” you sighed and left him in that broom closet.
All alone.

Every time it snows, I see lots of people who are terrified to operate their cars. This is poppycock, and originates from the media trying to force fear into your brain so that you stay home for a few more minutes to watch the morning traffic report and, oh, just a coincidence that it comes with a ton more ads. Stay Afraid. Buy Oreos®.
Winter driving is all about momentum. You keep your car moving, perform only gentle adjustments, and pay attention. Above all, you must not make any abrupt movements. This will unsettle the car, and then you'll careen towards a ditch, bus stop, or ballet recital. Important: allow thing to happen slowly, without your direct involvement. Freaking out and starting to chop at the wheel because you didn't get a prompt response to your last gentle input is what a toddler would do, and that's why only certain states let them drive.
Think of yourself as being engaged in the proud Canadian sport known as curling. In it, someone throws a rock down an icy slope, and some other suckers pretend to do anything at all by rapidly sweeping their brooms in front of it. Those frozen janitors are not allowed to touch the rock, because doing so will cause it to fly out of control and kill someone. When driving, you want to be the person throwing the rock, not the person frantically sweeping for no reason before accidentally maiming a cameraman from the CBC.
Whenever it snows, the first thing I do is head to the local giant parking lot. There, I can safely practice losing and regaining control of my car in the snow, without worrying about smacking a pedestrian or highway abutment. Critically, it's here that I also figure out what new holes in the cabin are letting water in. This lets me stop, get out, and apply duct tape at my leisure, rather than stewing in reflected road juices for my entire commute to work. That last part may not apply to you: for instance, you might be rich enough to be able to put marine-grade caulk or even Bondo over the rust holes in your car's floor.
If there's only one thing I can leave you with, it's this: don't panic. Like I said, tensing up and jerking around the car is only going to make things worse for everyone else on the road. Instead, let things happen. Be chill. Make sure you've got enough gas and maybe a sandwich on hand. Take a break if you've been pushing through traffic for hours. And above all, do not put an album by The Prodigy into your stereo system and then rip through red lights, completely sideways, banging off the rev limiter as you engage in icy doughnut after doughnut, just because you bought studded winter tires and have a generalized contempt for society at large. My attorney thought adding that last part would help with negotiating the plea bargain.

GINGERBREAD COOKIES | H.P X READER
word count \ 1.4k | christmas fluff | slash / harry potter x reader
in which you watch as harry makes gingerbread cookies for you authpr's note at the end!
FICMAS MASTERLIST
FICMAS THREE | H.P X READER
“Alright,” Harry said, watching you innocently sitting on the counter. You were kicking your feet with a rather wide smile on your face, hands resting on your lap. “What did you do?”
“I didn’t do anything!” you said, before making an offended pout. “Do you really not trust me?”
“In the kitchen?” he asked, looking around to see if there was anything laying around. A messed up baking project or a prank from the Weasley twins seemed like the most likely option. “Not particularly.”
“Wow.” you said, shaking your head as a soft sob escaped you. The dramatics were all for fun, though Harry made sure as he looked up to make sure you were smiling.
“Shocking, isn’t it?” he asked with a small chuckle.
“Very shocking indeed. You’re breaking my heart.” you shake your head, your legs barely hitting the cabinets as you rocked your legs back and forth still. “Though I am up here for a reason.”
“Yeah?” he asked, his hands wrapping themselves around your knees as he stepped between your legs. “What’s the reason?”
“I wanted to make gingerbread cookies!” you said, kissing the tip of his nose the closer he got.
“Gingerbread cookies?” Harry asked, a small smile on his face as he looked up at you. “Let me guess, you want me to bake them while you watch?”
“Yup!” you smiled happily.
“Darling,” he chuckled, both of you laughing as he nuzzled his nose against your neck. “You’re absolutely gorgeous, you know that?”
“Yeah, yeah,” you said to him, playfully smacking his arms. “Flattery gets you nowhere Potter, now make me gingerbread.”
“And utterly ridiculous.” he added, kissing your cheek as he grabbed the ingredients for gingerbread cookies. First came grabbing the flours and sugar, along with the spices and other ingredients he needed.
He began to make the dry and the wet ingredients, looking up at you as he kneaded them together. You chuckled softly, leaning forward to poke at his arm playfully. “Someone has muscles.”
“Try fighting Death Eaters for about 7 years of your childhood.” he said, snorting softly at his own joke before pushing his hands forward. “And Quidditch.”
“Does Quidditch really build muscle?” you asked curiously, sitting up straighter on the counter. “I mean, at the end of the day, it seems more like a leaning kind of exercise than a bulking.”
“Well, I think it is.” he said, muttering softly as he thought about it. “You need core muscles to hold onto the broom, especially when the winds get involved. The constant gripping might lead to an arm workout, I suppose. You also rely on your core muscles for the turns too though, since you have to use your whole body to turn.”
“Well then what explains your legs then?” you asked incredulously, gently kicking them. “You almost have thicker thighs than I do!”
Harry chuckled at that, continuing to roll the dough with his hands. “Well, you have to grip the broom with your legs too.”
“You need a grip for that as well.” he said, shrugging as he explained. “Though I suppose the arms would be bigger compared to the legs, especially for the Chasers and Beaters. I think it’s one of those exercises that you don’t realize works until you do it.”
“Can you teach me?” you asked him, a wide smile growing on your face as you asked.
“Maybe when it gets a bit warmer.” he smiled softly, leaning over and kissing your lips. “I don’t want you falling into ice cold snow.”
“I’ll be so good on a broom.” you said to him, crossing your arms. “You just doubt me.”
“I just don’t want you getting hurt.” he whispered, putting the dough on a piece of plastic wrap before wrapping it up. “You do know these need to cool overnight, correct?”
“They do?” you asked, pouting softly.
“For the recipe I use, yes.” he said, moving between your legs again as he peppered your face in kisses. “I can make you dinner though, to make up for it.”
“Dinner sounds good.” you whispered softly.
“Or we could always take out food.” he said, his fingers rubbing circles on the outside of your thigh. “I heard that there’s this really good Hibachi spot opening up near the end of town. You know the small complex there?”
“Yes I do.” you said, smiling softly at that. “Hibachi does sound rather good.”
“Yes it does.” he smiled, kissing you one last time as you both got up to go.
“Is it cooled?” Harry called out to you, wiping his hair with a towel as he walked through the hallway. He had just gotten home from Quidditch practice, resting in just a regular pair of black sweatpants now that he’d showered.
“I dunno,” you mumbled, poking the dough. “I can poke at it?”
“Let me see,” he said, tossing the towel in a spare bin as he walked to the kitchen. His hands wrapped around your waist as he leaned over you, squeezing it gently. “I think that you’ll have a rather nice batch of gingerbread cookies by tonight.”
“Really?” you asked, a wide smile on your face.
“I believe so.” he smiled, kissing your cheek as he moved to unwrap the dough. You moved to sit on the counter, watching him roll it out and press the gingerbread shapes into it.
“How long do they take to cook?” you asked.
“About eight to ten minutes,” he hummed, leaning down just a bit as he placed them on the cooking rack. “You’re going to decorate them, right?”
“Why, of course.” you smirked, hitting a dramatic pose as you said it. “Why wouldn’t I?”
“I’ll make you some icing.” he said softly, pressing down the cookie cutters into the dough. “It’ll take about five minutes.”
“I love you.” you whispered, smiling softly at him.
“Love you too.” he whispered, looking up at you with that classic smile of his. “Kiss?”
“Kiss.” you agreed, pushing out your lips and making a dramatic kissing noise.
Harry chuckled loudly at that, putting the cookie cutter down as he moved to cup your face. His lips met yours happily, gently moving against the ridges that made up your mouth. “I love you.”
“And I love you.” you giggled, kissing his nose.
“Well, I love you more.” he said, hands squeezing your waist gently. “Did you think about that?”
“Maybe.” you said, making a thinking expression before shaking your head. “But I don’t think so.”
“No?” he asked.
“Nope.” you verified.
“Love, I’m making you chocolate chip cookies.” he laughed softly, looking into your eyes like they were the only thing in the world.
“Well I’m sitting here as motivation.” you said, nodding as if your logic made perfect sense. It really didn’t make any sense, but he was willing to run with it if it made you happy.
“Alright then,” he whispered, kissing your lips. “But I need to put these in the oven.”
“Why, of course.” you said, nodding your head.
He chuckled, putting the last of the cookies on the rack. The ingredients for royal icing came next, his hand waving his wand to put the cookies in the oven. He felt your eyes on him as he made the icing, his spatula placing it in the piping bag just as the oven timer went off.
“Hold this.” he said, handing you the icing bag as he grabbed the oven mitts. The gingerbread cookies were absolutely perfect when he pulled them out, the pan resting on the coaster until they cooled down. “Two minutes.”
“Then I can decorate them?” you asked.
“To your heart’s content.” he said, smiling softly at the smile that graced your face.
“Thank you!” you smiled softly, kissing the tip of his nose before pushing his glasses back up. “They’re gonna fall off your face.”
“I need a new pair.” he said softly, smiling at you. “This prescription is old.”
“Old?” you asked him, getting down from the counter so you could properly pipe the gingerbread cookies to your heart’s content.
“Well, they’re my dads,” he said slowly, taking off his glasses to clean with them. “I don’t think he ever changed them either, the prescription absolutely sucks.”
“That sounds like a very him thing to do, based on what Sirius has told us.” you chuckled.
“Very.” Harry smiled, kissing your forehead lovingly. His hands wrapped around you naturally as you began icing, his skin having a sort of crawling feeling underneath it unless he was touching you.
“Can we cuddle after this?” you asked him, your voice soft and sweet as you asked.
“Of course.” he whispered gently to you, kissing your temple lovingly. “Maybe watch a Christmas movie too, or just take a nap.”
“A nap sounds good.” you said, nodding at the idea.
“A nap it’ll be.” he smiled softly.

Thief - Mattheo Riddle
A/N: Why did I do this? Far too late too be writing there will be no spell check <3
Summary: Mattheo keeps using pick up lines on you. Will they work? That's a different question...
The house isn't mentioned too much, but reader is implied a Gryffindor <3
n/n: nickname
Warnings: Mattheo (he's a warning okay), swearing, mentions of drugs and cigarettes
...
"Are you homework? Because I wanna slam you down on the table and do you." Mattheo smirked, and you nearly choked.
For the past two weeks, Mattheo had been popping out of nowhere to use stupid pick up lines on you. It's become quite alarming, with him dropping smoke bombs on you to appear out of 'nowhere', flying up to your dorm window on his broom, sending a howler... Mattheo Riddle is nothing if not persistent. And it was all started by a conversation you'd been having with Pansy Parkinson a week ago.
...
"-I just don't think they're that bad. Cheesy maybe, but I'd say yes to a good pick up line actually." You said to Pansy, walking to potions together.
"What constitutes a good pick up line though?" She questioned you, giving you a side smile.
"If it makes me laugh, it's good. The perfect combination of cheesy and funny. Most people overdo them. The craft of a perfect pick up line is an art." You replied, fiddling with the straps on your bag.
Mattheo Riddle then brushed past you, dramatically falling to the floor.
"Ouch! I just skinned my knee! Falling for you." He said, smirking.
You stood there, frozen and confused. "What?" You said finally.
"You said you'd say yes to a good pick up line, princess. How was that?" Mattheo said, standing and looking at you with a small smirk playing at his lips.
You laughed. "Come up with an original one and then we'll talk."
"Oh come on! That was original!" He protested, before being smacked over the head by Enzo.
"Liar, I told you that one." Enzo said, rolling his eyes at you with a 'can you believe him?' expression on his face.
You shook your head, smiling before heading to potions with Pansy.
You smiled, shaking your head as you walked with Pansy to Potions.
...
That was how you'd got to the point you were at now, still waiting for Mattheo to come up with a pick up line that didn't make you want to jump off of the astronomy tower.
That was the deal. If Mattheo could make you laugh with a pick up line, you would go on a date with him. If you didn't laugh, he wouldn't be allowed to smoke a cigarette for the rest of the day. So far, it's been 3 weeks of no cigarettes for Mattheo.
...
"Are you homework? Because I wanna slam you down on the table and do you." You nearly choked, resisting the urge to smash a book over Mattheo's stupid pretty head.
You looked to him with a sigh, being met with a shit eating grin.
"That's my favourite so far personally." He said conversationally, opening his Transfiguration textbook.
"That may just be one of the worst." You replied, shaking your head with a smile.
"Yes, and?" He raised an eyebrow.
You rolled your eyes, turning back to your essay. A few other students cast weird looks your way, a Gryffindor and a Slytherin sat together. You paid them no notice, crossing out a few things on your essay.
Mattheo leaned across, trying to look at yours, and you pulled it away.
"Ah ah ah. I know your thieving tendencies, stealing pick up lines from books and people, you're not stealing my Transfiguration notes." You said, glaring playfully.
He rolled his eyes with a small smile playing at his lips.
"Fine. But just so you know, the name for people who can turn into animals is 'Animagi', not 'AniwhatthefuckjustcameoutofRiddle'smouth'.
You glared at him, crossing it out and scribbling over it to make it unreadable.
"When McGonagall asks, I'm blaming you." You said, looking up a definition in your text book.
"Sure. You'll probably find what to say to her under 'I was the recipient of a legendary pick up line.'" He said, gesturing towards your textbook.
You smacked his hand away, and he gasped, recoiling.
"Offended, princess. Offended." He said, putting on an expression of mock offense.
A Ravenclaw boy from your charms class came over, and instantly, Mattheo's guard was up again. He glared at the boy, and the boy, thinking better of it, decided not to disturb you two. You giggled.
"You switch up faster than Snape runs from shampoo." You commented, highlighting a part of your book on merpeople. Mattheo glanced over.
"You know what the little mermaid and me have in common?" He said abruptly.
"Bad grammar?" You guessed. He sighed dramatically.
"We both wanna be part of your world." He wiggled his eyebrows, and you had to bite your lip to keep from crying.
"Mattheo, what crime did I commit to end up in this purgatory?" You said, pinching the bridge of your nose.
"The only crime is your criminal beauty." He said with a smirk. You groaned. "Sorry yn, I'm not good at holding conversations. Can I hold your hand instead?"
"I'm going to cry. Or die." You whispered to yourself.
He laughed. "You'll come around eventually yn. You know, my favourite number is 14, because you're the 1 4 me."
You nearly screamed. "Leave. I'm begging you. Come back later."
"Alrighty, fine. Do you believe in love at first sight or should I come back later?"
You threw a book at his head, which he caught somehow.
"Damn girl, good thing I've got my library card because I'm checking you out."
You glared at him, and, finally picking up on his cue, Mattheo left.
...
It had been a few days since the library incident. Three days of peace. Thank god life isn't Duolingo, because you were about to lose that streak.
A note was slipped onto your desk during history of magic. You looked up, read it, and steadfastly ignored it.
'God damn girl r u a bank loan cuz u got my interest ;)'
Another appeared when you started doodling. 'r u an artist cuz u were so good at drawing me in (✷‿✷)'
that one you actually replied to, flipping over the paper. 'damn boy are you the terms and conditions? Because I don't give a fuck what you say 。◕‿◕。' .
When Mattheo received that note back he sighed dramatically, clutching his heart as if you'd mortally wounded him.
A minute later, the note was back on your desk. 'My favourite insect? The butterflies u give me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯'
You groaned, quickly scribbling a response. 'Can you stop for just a few minutes pls I'm trying to pay attention to the history of magic.'
'I may not go down in history but I'll definitely go down on u ;)'
'Azkaban. Now.'
'xx.'
...
The next day, in the Great Hall, you were saying with your friends when Mattheo came over and joined you at the Gryffindor table. You raised an eyebrow.
"Last time I checked, Riddle, your tie was green." You said, smiling slightly.
"It is. I just wanted to see you in the morning. I mean, kiss me if I'm wrong, but the rain is so heavy right now." He said nonchalantly.
You turned to look out of the window.
It was a clear day, with sun shining through a cloudless sky.
You sighed, turning back to him as he gave you a 'what can I say?' look. You shook your head, smiling.
He turned back to your table, looking at the food. "Do you like raisins? How do you feel about a date?" He said, smirking.
You rolled your eyes. "Go back to your own table Riddle."
"Are you my appendix? Because I feel like I should take you out." He replied, smiling slightly.
"Wait what? Is your appendix okay?" You said worriedly.
"Yeah no it's fine, don't worry. Just a pick up line yn, calm down, it won't bite. Just me making jokes about bad health, like 'are you asthma? Because you take my breath away.'" He replied, shaking his head with a small smile playing at his lips.
"Okay..." You said, still slightly concerned.
Mattheo smirked. "Are you my father? Because I wish you were around more." You looked at him, even more concerned than before. "I'm starting to wonder if you need therapy." You said, a small smile playing at your lips.
"I don't need therapy, I just need you to come to dinner with me, because I can't spell menu without me n u." He said, smiling. You very nearly laughed, which didn't go unnoticed.
Mattheo stood up, nodding a goodbye before heading back to the slytherin table, where his friends were not so subtly calling him over.
"She nearly laughed. Shit." Mattheo whispered to his friends. They laughed. "Not funny. I really like her, I wasn't expecting her to nearly laugh. I'm close." He said, mainly speaking to himself.
Theo clapped him on the back. "You're down bad mate." He said, shaking his head. Mattheo sighed, turning to look at you quickly. "Yeah. J am." He admitted.
...
A few minutes later, you stood, heading out into the entrance hall, and were immediately ambushed by Cormac McLaggen. Yippee.
"Your lips look lonely, do they wanna meet mine?" He said, smirking.
"Are you bad WiFi? Because I'm feeling no connection here." You replied, not looking at him and trying to brush past him.
He stopped you, gripping your shoulder and not so gently shoving you back. You adjusted your bag and faced him, looking confused.
"A little too fast to brush me off there l/n." He said, still with that obnoxious smirk. To be fair, all smirks are obnoxious. Well... not all smirks. An image flashed into your mind of a certain slytherin with curly brown hair and chocolate eyes.
You zoned back into the moron stood infront of you, who was now attempting to lecture you on how you should have replied to his pick up line. You zoned out again, until you registered what he was saying.
"-Make it up to me." He finished, and you raised an eyebrow.
"Sorry what?" You said, looking confused.
"You heard me. You'll need to make it up to me, because you just embarrassed me." He said, puffing up his chest with his own importance.
"I don't need to do anything for you, McLaggen. I rejected you, your ego can take it." You said patiently, waiting for it to sink in for him. You attempted to walk away.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed the Slytherins leaving the hall. A hand grilled your wrist, painful and harshly. McLaggen glared at you.
"I don't get why Riddle is telling everyone to leave you alone, 'Princess'. You're not even that special, probably just whoring yourself out to the first guy who comes to yo-"
That was all you heard before someone's fist connected with Cormac's jaw, sending him flying to the ground.
You watched in slight horror as Mattheo pummelled McLaggen into the flagstones. Only slight horror though. McLaggen was insufferable.
You watched, frozen, as Mattheo's friends held McLaggen down for him, rather than pulling Mattheo off of him.
Eventually, the teachers arrived and pulled he boys off of McLaggen, whom was now sporting a black eye, cracked teeth, a dented nose and a split lip.
"Nobody calls her that. And only I call her Princess." Mattheo spat.
You were dragged with them to McGonagall's office and told to wait outside.
...
A half hour later, Draco, Theo and Blaise emerged from the office, not looking at all bothered by what just went down. You gave them a sheepish look, and Blaise shrugged.
"We got detention, no big deal." You felt bad, given it was partially your fault.
"I'm sorry you guys got detention." You said sympathetically. They shook their heads.
"It's not your fault, l/n, it's not like you asked us to do anything." Theo said, rolling his eyes, but not maliciously.
"Is Mattheo okay?" You asked carefully, trying to seem nonchalant.
"Wouldn't you like to know." Enzo said, appearing from McGonagall's office with a smirk. Draco elbowed him, and Enzo sighed. "He's fine, but he's got two months of detention, so no more evening study dates/hangouts for you two." He continued, and you blushed.
"They're not dates." You said, shaking your head. Blaise smirked. "You might wanna tell him that. He comes back from the library looking like Cupid was feeling particularly violent."
You rolled your eyes, smiling. "I'm sure you're being dramatic." The boys violently shook their heads.
"Far from. There are Polaroids. Seriously, y/n, I know we're supposed to be his wingmen and make him seem cool and chill, but the reality is that Mattheo is absolutely disgustingly in love with you." Theo stated plainly.
"And it's a pain for all of us when he won't shut up about you (no offence), so do us a favour and go out with him?" Enzo continued, looking at you pleadingly. "Before he realised you didn't want to be talking to McLaggen, he looked like a kicked puppy."
You pictured the image mentally. Damn his stupid pretty brown stupid eyes.
"I can't go out with him until he makes me laugh with a pick up line I haven't heard before." You said, sighing. "If I just go out with him without laughing, he wins! I can't lose to him, I've been so strong all of these weeks." You said, gritting your teeth.
"Are you saying it's been hard for you to turn him down?" Draco said, raising an eyebrow.
"Yes. No. Shut up." You said, hiding your face in your hands and sinking down onto a chair by the door.
"It's okay to like Mattheo, y/n. Sure, he's a massive pain in the ass and he's rude to a lot of people besides you, but you read Twisted Love, you're probably into that." Theodore said, shrugging.
You gave him a look of disbelief. "You know Twisted Love?" Theo blushed faintly.
"I have sisters."
"Anyway guys, I appreciate whatever it is you're doing for Mattheo, but my decision is clear. When he makes me laugh, I'll go out with him." You said, smiling.
"Fine. We'll help him out, because we're rooting for you two." Enzo said, checking his watch. "Don't I know it." You muttered. Enzo smiled. Mattheo emerged from McGonagall's office, looking only slightly like his mood had been dampened. You gave him a small smile.
"You okay Riddle?" His eyes moved to you, and a hint of surprise flickered in them.
"Y/n? Did McGonagall ask you to wait?" He said, confused.
"Actually, y/n is here of her own free will." Enzo cut in, smirking. You blushed, looking down and Mattheo smiled faintly.
"Oh yeah? Going soft on me Princess?" He said, crouching down to force you to look at him.
You looked up and he straightened, still watching you intently.
"In your dreams Riddle." He smiled.
"Actually, you are in my dreams, y/n. You're a recurring dream for me, do you want to make us a reality?" He said, giving you a look.
(I'm sorry I have to insert this, it's this look. This one.)

You smiled. "You know the rules, Mattheo. I laugh, I'll go on a date with you." You said.
He sighed dramatically. "I'm in pain, y/n. Pain. But that is true. And I will be holding you to it." He says, smiling.
"I'd expect nothing less from you Riddle." You fiddled with the sleeves of your sweater.
"Good. Do you mind if I talk to you? Alone?" Mattheo asked, his tone changing to one of slight concern.
You frowned slightly, but nodded. He led you away from his friends, who quickly disappeared off to the Slytherin common room.
Mattheo took a deep breath and turned to you. "Y/n, I know I'm irritating you. I know I'm distracting you, I saw the mark you got on your last transfiguration exam. And I'm so sorry. I'm so fucking sorry. I was distracting you when you tried to revise, and I keep pestering you everywhere, and if you want me just to leave you alone I completely get it." He said, looking slightly mad at himself.
You opened your mouth to talk but he cut you off.
"And I don't want you to feel like you owe me anything, you don't owe me a date, you didn't have to wait for me outside McGonagall's office just because I fought McLaggen for you. You don't have to do anything for me, okay?" He continued, looking away from you.
"I know I don't have to do anything for you Mattheo. I want to." You replied, speaking quietly and hesitantly.
He frowned, raising an eyebrow. "You want to?"
You nodded. "I like your company. I don't mind having you around, it's fun. You're not as bad as I first thought. Actually, you're nothing like what I first thought." You said, trailing off as you saw his smile.
"And what did you originally think I was like?" He smirked.
"Arrogant. Sarcastic. Bit of an asshole." Mattheo shrugged, agreeing with you. "Honestly? I thought that the whole pick up lines thing was a joke for ages." You admitted.
The smile dropped from his face. "A joke? What do you mean?" He said, frowning and trying to meet your eyes.
"You know. Like you were doing it for a dare." He shook his head. "Y/n, I'd never do that. I genuinely do care about you a lot. Merlin, I care about you so stupidly much that I punched a guy. I know that's bad, and I swear I'm not usually violent but he was harassing you. And all I could think was 'no. no no no no no.'" He sighed.
You smiled, taking a step closer. "You're sweet, Mattheo. Kinda cute actually." He raised an eyebrow.
"You think I'm cute?" You blushed.
"no. you must have hallucinated it." You said, shaking your head.
"I mean, I'm flattered y/n. I hope you know CPR, because you're taking my breath away." He said, smirking as you stepped closer to him. You giggled slightly, before realising.
Mattheo's eyes widened. "You laughed. You laughed at my pick up line. The one I came up with literally a second ago." You smiled.
"Maybe I did. What does that mean Riddle?" You said, stepping closer.
"It means you should go on a date with me. But you don't have to if you don't want to, okay?" He said, smiling down at you.
"I want to." You said. Mattheo exhaled slowly, stepping closer. His hands came to rest on your hips, not moving. He gave you time to push him away, but you didn't, so his hands stilled.
"You want to?" He repeated, making sure.
You nodded. "Mhm. It's why I've gone along with this for so long." You giggled, as his forehead uncreased and he relaxed slightly, before quickly lifting you up and spinning you around.
You laughed as he put you back down, noticing the lack of space between you. Your eyes flickered to his lips, which didn't go unnoticed.
Mattheo's eyes landed on your lips, and then returned to your eyes. There was so little distance between you two.
You nodded slightly, registering his silent request. "Mattheo..." You whispered. That was it for him. His lips crashed into yours, one hand cupping your face and the other resting on your hip.
You kissed him back, letting him gently back you into a wall, hand moving to the back of your head to keep you comfortable.
Eventually, you both pulled back for air, slightly breathless. You smiled, and he brushed some hair out of your eyes.
"Be mine?" He said in a low voice, practically begging you.
"I'm already yours." You whispered back to him, letting him kiss you again.
This kiss lasted less time than the first, but was still beautiful.
"But we're still going on that date right?" You asked, smiling.
"Wouldn't have it any other way, princess." He replied, smiling as he rested his forehead against yours.
A flash went off, and you turned to see Theodore and Colin Creevey. Theodore took the photo from Colin, smirking. "Mattheo, you're a fucking simp."
"Damn right." Mattheo replied, smiling slightly at you.
...
A/N: My first actual Mattheo fic! Doesn't make sense, seeing as he's my favourite slytherin boy. Anyway, I feel like I'm horrible at writing kiss scenes, so lemme know if it was too cringy or smth like that! Thnx for reading<333

hi! could you be able to please write a one shot with James Potter where he lets everyone know that he has a girlfriend and he's taken but nobody knows who is his girlfriend. And after he falls off his broom during a quidditch match turns out that his girlfriend its the slytherin captain, who is like the complete opposite of James lol
Hi lovely, thanks for your request! I hope you like it <3
Cw: mention of injury, no details/description
James Potter x slytherin!reader ♡ 740 words
James Potter is well aware that, considering his usual tendency to showboat, it's suspicious that his dating life has suddenly become the best-kept secret at Hogwarts. It's obvious he is dating someone. He hasn't exactly been inconspicuous with the notes he sends flying down the halls several times a day (though it's a small miracle no one has been able to chase them all the way to the recipient) and when he wouldn't tell Sirius who it was, his friend let slip to half of Gryffindor house that he'd caught James sneaking out of their dorm room three times in the past week. Soon, it seemed like all James' classmates did was buzz with speculation about his mysterious partner.
James is trying to ignore that speculation now, the chatter in the crowded stands somehow reaching him even far above the quidditch pitch, distracting him from looking out for the snitch.
"Hardly at the top of our game today, are we, Potter?" A snide voice calls, a blur of green blazing past him to lob the quaffle towards the center goalpost.
James perks up, brought back to the game by the familiarity of a good bickering. "Wishful thinking," he calls back, just as the Gryffindor keeper blocks your attempt at a goal. James meets your fierce stare with his most winning smile. "Maybe if I wasn't, you'd have a half-decent chance of beating us for the first time in three years."
Three years, he wants to add, since both of you had been made captain of your respective teams. James certainly isn't going to lose that winning streak because of any gossip. He redoubles his focus, waiting for a telling glint of light or the light buzzing of wings, and keeping an eye on the Slytherin seeker to make sure she hasn't spotted it either.
There's a flicker of movement to his right, and James is off, the ruckus of the crowd drowned out by the wind rushing past his ears as he races towards the snitch. His vision seems to narrow as it grows closer, all his attention on the tiny golden ball, and he can almost touch it when pain shoots through his side.
James tries to grab at his broom, but he's too slow, his hand wrapping around only air. He's on solid ground before he knows what's happened, splayed on his back with a view of the other players high above him, almost all shock-still. Almost, except for the Slytherin chaser in a dangerously fast nose-dive towards him. You hardly take the time to level out your broom before you're hopping off and crouching beside him.
"Potter—shit, Potter, are you okay?" Your hands tremble as they run over his arms, his torso, as if wanting to make sure he's still whole but afraid he'll shatter at anything more than your gentlest touch.
"I think so." James groans, sitting up. "A couple broken ribs, maybe."
"Shit," you pant, your hands moving to his face. "Are you sure?"
"Well, I'm a bit rattled at the moment," he says, beginning to snark, but he softens when he sees you're blinking back tears. "It's not bad, sweetheart. I'm alright."
You shake your head, somewhere between frustrated and fond, and press your lips to James' abruptly. He's so shocked it takes him a second to kiss you back, doing his best to soothe the desperation he can feel in your touch.
You pull back just as quickly, leaving James so dazed he's caught entirely off guard by the light smack you deliver to the back of his head.
"You idiot. You should have seen that bludger coming from a mile away."
James searches for a witty rebuttal, but comes up empty. He can't decide whether to be offended or charmed by you right now, and it's stolen the gall from him. It's also possible that he's concussed. "Yeah," he says dumbly.
You huff, but still squeeze his shoulder as you stand, letting Madam Hooch move in to take your place. "Idiot," you mumble again, stalking towards your broom. "Come see me later."
James watches you go with something akin to awe. Only after you've rejoined your teammates does he notice the hush that's fallen over the crowd, and Sirius, standing well within hearing distance and looking like he's been stupefied, his eyes wide with horror.
But even if James looks as whipped as he feels, he doesn't really care.

Can you do a James Potter fic where you and Sirius argue over who he loves more
This didn't quite go the way of the request - more reader gets pissed at sirius for always demanding james' attention
Paper hit the back of her head for the fifth time in the space of a minute. She let out a sigh as she looked at Remus, her desk partner. "Your boyfriend is annoying," she said to him and he stood his head.
"He just wants attention from your boyfriend," he mumbled as they tried to get on with their work. But it was damn near impossible, and Sirius was unrelenting.
When a particularly large piece of paper hit the back of her head, Y/N turned around with an exasperated sigh. The next piece of paper smacked her directly in the face. "Sirius!" She hissed. "Stop. It. Now." James blew her a kiss.
Something hit her desk and Y/N turned back around, sheepishly looking up at Professor Slughorn. "Is my lesson really that boring, Miss L/N?" He asked and she shook her head as as returned her eyes to her parchment.
It didn't just happen in potions. It happened all day every day. At first Y/N blamed Remus for not giving Sirius enough attention, but that didn't matter. Remus could have had his entire focus on Sirius, and it still wouldn't have been enough.
Under James' attention, he thrived.
Y/N was not allowed a moment alone with her boyfriend. It wasn't something they discussed, but Sirius wouldn't let them have a moment alone.
It got to the point where they had to try and hide away in broom closets or secret passageways. Anywhere to get away from Sirius. But, with the held of the Marauders map, he always found them.
"Fucking hell Sirius!" She finally snapped. "Can we have five minutes, please! Five fucking minutes!"
Sirius looked at her, his eyes wide. "Jesus, Y/N," he mumbled as he looked towards James.
"No, don't look at him for help." She turned towards James. "Don't try and help him."
James stepped back, his hands held up defensively. "He's all yours," he said to his girlfriend, and she sent him a sweet smile.
The smile dropped from her face when she turned back towards Sirius. "All I want is a moment alone with my boyfriend. One single moment! And you're always there. Why are you always there? Why are you so annoying?"
Sirius looked from side to side. He looked past her, at James, and then back at her. "Is that it? Are you done?"
"I'm going to hit you."
She hit him. It wasn't hard, but Sirius still covered his face, protecting his hair probably. "Okay! Okay! Fine! I'll go bother Remus then."
When he walked out of the broom closet and shut his door behind him, she threw her arms around James. "There," she said as she looked up at him. "Problem solved."
James kissed her. "You're brilliant, you are."

Sethos x Reader: Sun & Moon
Hehe, look at me actually finishing it lol. Been ages since I've written x Reader stuff but I hope yall like it. Sethos needs more love <3
Female reader but I hope yall can still enjoy it lol :>
Sethos was a people person. He could talk to everyone and make them forget that they hadn't just met him, seamlessly integrating into any group he wished.
He had a good facial memory, so he could strike up a familiar conversation with most of the citizens.
But there was someone in Sumeru City that he had never properly caught for a chat. A humble cleaner girl, who seemed to hate him for some reason.
Whenever he tried to start a casual conversation with her, she focused on anything but him, her body language telling him she did not want to talk. Her replies were curt and he had to try hard to keep the conversation from dying.
He was pushy, yeah, but he knew not to push his luck. She was practically holding a weapon she could smack him with, after all. An everyman’s polearm - a broom.
So, he stopped approaching her. They just coexisted, him passing by her sweeping the streets sometimes, offering a polite wave as he jogged past her.
Then, on one rainy day, Sethos was caught enjoying the shower between his errands. He stood in the middle of the empty street, eyes closed and face lifted skyward as if to hug the rainfall.
But the rain suddenly stopped.
He opened his eyes in surprise and briefly met hers, before she handed her umbrella to him and dashed off. He was left there, staring at her disappearing form and the splatters of water as she ran.
He was confused, but shrugged the absurd encounter off with an amused smile.
“Heh, guess she doesn't hate me, after all. Interesting.”
Sethos loved being in the city. It was full of fascinating people, especially within the Akademiya. He loved learning about them, their stories, ideas and passions.
And now the curt sweeper girl had caught his interest.
He still politely greeted her when he passed by, and her responses were curt as ever, usually simply nodding and letting him pass. But now he read her behavior as shy and awkward instead of hateful.
His polite smile became a bit more genuine when he understood.
He kept noticing her in other places after that, too. She was often found sitting in random spots, holding a notebook she was very focused on, not paying attention to anyone who wondered what her deal was.
Sethos was one of them. He curiously eyed her every time he saw her, but she never lifted her face from her notebook.
One day she was sitting on a box behind Lambad’s Tavern, hand going wild as she worked on the notebook in her lap. Sethos noticed her, and decided to approach her for once.
She jumped when his voice cut through her concentration, having broken into her bubble.
“Soo. What’cha working on there?”
She immediately shut the notebook and looked away, clutching it to her chest.
“Heh, you were really into it. Sorry for spooking you.”
She didn't reply, no idea what to say, so she literally waved it off. He got the message, leaning against the railing next to her.
“You're a funny one, you know. I can never expect where you'll be sitting with that secret tome of yours. I’ve heard people call you a local cryptid because of it.”
That made her snort, and she immediately threw a hand up to cover her mouth.
His smile widened, proud of drawing a new reaction out of her.
“It's true, though. I've seen you on several branches of the Divine Tree, on a roof or two, and I swear I caught you behind a bush once. What's up with that?”
She scratched her cheek shyly, not expecting anyone to pay attention to her.
“...Inspiration”, she finally managed.
“Inspiration, eh? What's so inspiring about sitting behind a bush?”
She chuckled lightly in response.
“I just like switching spots. Different angles.”
"Riight, right, that makes sense. What do you need that inspiration for, then? Writing, drawing, homework?”
She turned the cover of the notebook towards him. It had ‘sketchbook’ written on it in fancy letters.
“Ohhh, an artist, I see. That's cool. You got the whole ‘vibe’ down too, now that I think about it.”
She drew the sketchbook back to herself again, shrugging with a small, amused hum.
“Quiet and mysterious. Who knows what's going on inside those covers”, he explained with a playful grin.
She was still curt, but her small smile gave him confirmation that she definitely didn't hate him.
“I’ll let you continue, then. Can't stop an artist when inspiration hits, after all.”
After seeing her nod and timidly wave at him, he stood back up with a satisfied smile. He waved in response and walked off, arms stretched behind his head as he went to continue on with his day.
From there on, he stopped to bother her for a moment or two whenever and wherever he caught her. She didn't seem willing to talk about art or her secret sketchbook, so he kept the conversation alive, talking about whatever. She was still curt and shy, but her snorts and amused huffs became a more common occurrence as days passed.
One day, after he was done telling one of his stories, she seemed particularly thoughtful.
“What's up? Remind you of something? Oh, oh, did I give you inspiration?” he grinned excitedly, pointing at her.
She took a moment to formulate her reply.
“..How do you always have something to talk about?”
He didn't expect that. She didn't seem annoyed, though..
“Heh, I’ve just seen and heard many interesting things. I like sharing mine, and learning more from the people I meet.”
“That simple?”
He shrugged casually.
“I’m a people person. I like talking and listening.”
Her face formed a strained smile as she looked away.
“My brain always goes blank when there's people around. It's like there's not a single thought in there.”
That seemed to confirm his assumption of her treatment of him before. She was just shy. Or socially anxious.
“Ah. More of an introvert, then?”
“...No, I want to be around people. I just… short circuit. Not very interesting company.”
“I think you're plenty interesting”, he stated matter-of-factly, “you've got me curious.”
That surprised her, and she turned to look in the general direction of his face, but still not meeting his eyes.
“You’re curious? About me?”
“Sure am. There's the sitting in random spots thing, your mystery book, how you're so focused you don't react to people gawking and talking about you right next to you…”
He counted with his fingers, amused but genuine.
“There's obviously a lot going on in there. I’m curious about what sorts of ideas you have. Art isn't exactly the biggest thing around the city, after all.”
She had to take a moment to take in his words.
“It's nothing special, really. Just stories, imaginary situations and encounters.”
“A bit of fantasy added to the ordinary, eh? That's fun. Care to give me an example?”
A bit nosy, maybe, but he was interested.
She looked away for a moment, not sure if she should or whether she even could produce an example for him. He seemed genuinely curious though, so she tried, and inspiration hit when she gazed down at the docks.
“Um, like, a long-awaited reunion happening down there. A tearful embrace…”
She suddenly felt very embarrassed.
“..That's dumb, isn't it? I can-”
“No, no, no, don't worry. I can see it. A bit of a romantic, aren't you?”
She blushed a little, but shrugged with a noncommittal chuckle.
“Comes with the whole art thing, I think.”
“Heh, makes sense. I like it.”
A moment of silence. It was comfortable to him, but she felt the need to fill it.
“U-um, thanks, for, you know, always talking to me.”
He wasn't expecting that, either, and hummed in question, grinning curiously.
“...I like talking to people. It's just..difficult”, she continued, wanting her thanks to reach him properly.
“Well, I’m always down for a chat. I'll keep stopping by to bother you, then?”
“You aren't bothering me. But yeah. I'd like that. Maybe I’ll learn some tips and tricks from the master of social skills”, she joked with a soft smile.
“Sounds like a plan.”
And so they continued their occasional chats. He often ended up stopping people to talk with them, anyway, but it was nice to have confirmation that he actually wasn't bothering her.
His company gradually helped her relax and learn to imitate some of his social techniques, like asking questions and using more open body language.
Eye contact was still an issue for her, though. And to Sethos’ surprise, it bugged him a little.
He was straightforward and social, so eye contact came naturally to him. Not everyone he talked with looked back into his, so he knew it wasn't easy for everyone. And, to be fair, his eyes were kind of intense, which was a blessing and a curse sometimes.
Yet, somehow, he couldn't shake the thought of wanting to meet her eyes. She was always looking somewhere else when they talked. Usually her sketchbook.
Still, he didn't want to make her uncomfortable, so he did his best so she could relax when they chatted. He wouldn't push her, make her feel like she had to do it.
He had only met her eyes once, by accident that time she handed him her umbrella. They were bright and curious, almost striking in the muddiness of the downpour.
He remembered them clearly.
So, instead, he focused on learning more about her and her ideas and visions, and loved telling her his stories since they seemed to inspire her to some extent.
He learned to pick up on the change in her expression when she moved from listening to him to formulating an idea.
It was cute.
He thought positively about people, appreciated their qualities, both inside and out, but it wasn't often that he considered a person cute.
That thought lingered in his mind, too.
Her reactions made her even more cute to him. She blushed at times, yes, but she was playful in return, smacking him with her pencil or broom or rolling her eyes with that amused smile of hers. And she gladly showed him her work now.
He didn't think it affected how he interacted with her, but he unconsciously became a bit more friendly, almost flirty at times. He often grinned when they talked, initiated playful physical contact - like poking or gently kicking her - and couldn't help but give her tons of honest compliments, especially on her art.
One time after their brief chat when she was working, he was left with a single thought in his mind:
“Heh, shucks. I like her.”
It wasn't a world changing revelation, just made him connect the dots and realize how much his way of interacting with her had changed.
…And he was pretty sure she liked him too.
He kept interacting with her like usual, honestly just enjoying what they had. A comfortable friendship with banter, intrigue and plenty of laughter.
But it would be a lie to say that he wasn't also gauging more on what she could be feeling.
He picked his best stories, told them with a bit more flair, and gave her more casual compliments.
And, well, if their knees happened to touch when they were talking, or his playful pokes lingered on her skin a moment too long to be read as platonic, he didn't make a big deal out of it.
One day Sethos caught her sketching on a sturdy branch of the Divine Tree, easily accessible but not immediately visible to the townsfolk.
He chuckled and approached her, nimbly making his way to her in the tree.
“You're an enigma, you know that?” he grinned as he sat down next to her.
“It’s simple, really. The view is great from here. So many people to see, so much inspiration to gather.”
He looked down. The citizens were enjoying their evening activities; entering and exiting the tavern, boats docking, adventurers returning to get their rewards for their daily commissions.
It was interesting. He preferred to be mingling down there with them, but stepping back and watching the hustle and bustle from a different angle made him appreciate it in a new way.
He might not have lived in the city for long, but watching all those people do their thing made him realize how lucky he was to be around so many people nowadays. He grew up in the desert, with only the people of the temple as his company, after all.
He was gazing down with a gentle and slightly solemn expression, happy to be where he was now. He had friends, connections, and now… her, too.
He turned to look at her, about to share his appreciation for the view too, but to his surprise, he met her eyes. She had been watching him, curious about how quiet he went and what he was thinking of.
Her eyes held a hint of worry, but enough affection to make him stumble with his words. This time it was Sethos who broke eye contact, turning to look back down.
“Y-yeah. I get it. All those people have their own lives and stories to tell.”
“Exactly!” she chuckled and pointed the end of her pencil at him. “A gold mine of inspiration and ideas.”
They both loved getting ideas from people, huh? Their ways were different, sure, but maybe they were pretty similar, after all.
Stories, curiosity, ideas and inspiration. They worked well together.
That train of thought suddenly made him feel the need to communicate his feelings to her. Like his soul was calling out, wanting to connect with this girl whose company he had been enjoying more and more.
“You know, you remind me of the Moon sometimes”, he started, fittingly artistic for what he was about to do.
“Sounds fun and poetic. Care to elaborate?”
“You're always present, I just gotta know where to look. Mysterious, but mesmerizing.”
“Hehe, thank you.”
She smiled, but didn't seem to catch the full meaning of his words, so he continued.
“What I’m trying to say is, I like you. You draw my attention in a way no one else does.”
Well that definitely caught her attention.
Their eyes met again, and he nodded, not ashamed or embarrassed, but ever so slightly nervous.
“You do?”
She cleared her throat to answer him.
“...I always thought you were like the Sun. You're warm, fun, and easily draw people to you.”
She wasn't as calm as he was, but hoped her indirect poetic message reached him too.
“Does that mean what I think it does?” he couldn't help but ask, a hopeful grin on his face.
She moved her gaze down and nodded.
“I-I like you too. I feel like I can relax around you.”
Both sat in silence, soft and giddy grins on their faces, taking in the big words hanging in the air.
They turned to look back down at the citizens buzzing around the streets, the shy mood eventually becoming comfortable again, and moved on into imagining what kinds of adventures the people below them had experienced today.
Their fingers soon found each other and intertwined slightly as they sat together.
