TFO MegOp - Mermaid AU
I haven’t decided on the plot, mostly just world-building. I also have a little bit of noblesparks and ZetaSen, I think?
So there would be a kingdom on land, next to the sea and a kingdom under the sea, Iacon.
D-16 is the prince on land while Orion Pax is the prince of Iacon. The bots on land doesn’t know about the existence of the Mermech, the ones who look like them, but with fish tail.
Sentinel is the king of Iacon (yeah, Orion is allegedly his mechling). Iacon is a secluded place, everyone in the kingdom live without ever reveal themselves to the world, fearing the dangerous outside world which Sentinel told them abt.
But yeah, like hell Orion’s gonna stay still. He loves exploring, he loves new things, he’s curious about the land mechs. (I can even hear him singing part of your world)
D-16 is the prince who wants to go out on the sea to look for his mother. Megatronus, the king on land and well, D-16’s sire, doesn’t like it. He never tells D-16 why, but Megatronus himself doesn’t like the sea.
Thing takes a turn when Orion save D-16 from a ship sink. From there the two learn about the other’s existence, going through a bunch of stuffs which I haven’t known what they are yet. Oh yeah, I’m thinking B-127 is Orion’s best friend and a fellow mermech while Elita is D-16’s bodyguard.
The 4 people will be discovering truth about their world and embark on a journey to a faraway land.
This is quite where everything gets interesting.
It turns out D-16’s carrier is Prima, who is a mermech and once a prince of Iacon, aka brothers with Sentinel. Meanwhile, Orion is not Sen’s mechling, his sire is Alpha Trion, a general on land. So I guess both D-16 and Orion are half-half.
The four discover that mermech and land-bot used to live in harmony, as they are all Primus’ children. But after an incident happened 50 cycles ago, both sides turns enemies, cut out their long-time relationship. Many people from both kingdom disappeared, including Prima and Alpha Trion.
I mean, I’m sure it’s Sentinel’s fault.
On that note, let’s talk about the matrix of leadership. It’s something like a powerful artifact, whoever has it shall have the power to command the sea.
Sen is supposed to have it, that’s how he became a king. But his matrix is a fake one, the real one has been lost after the incident. Sen managed to fool everyone in the kingdom by with the help of the mysterious magic of the Quintessons (somehow they look like octopus).
Before the incident, Zeta is the king of Iacon, with his matrix. He, Prima and Sen are brothers. Oh, but Sen is adopted, he’s not from the royal sparkline.
Sentinel wants to be a king, but Zeta was the one chosen. It’s quite obvious why he was not chosen. He didn’t have what it takes to be a king. He’s a narcissist, he wants the power, but doesn’t care for his people. Zeta still gave Sen a high position though, he believed that Sen would eventually learn to care.
However, Sentinel thought the reason was because he’s not a true prince. (bro’s overthinking and have inferior complex) He believed everyone looked down on him, even his brothers.
Yeah, that’s as far as my idea goes haha.

Ok, I need to work on the Rook x Observant Reader fanfic exclusively because I want to post something. I’ve hopping around for too long! That will be the next one to come out. Look forward to it. I plan for it to span over Chapters 5 and 6. Thank u @shadow2frost for solving my problems for me. I didn’t know where to go after the first few scene and then she was like “here’s an idea.” Now, I’m generally a very picky writer. Therefore, fact that she threw something out and I liked it is beyond wild to me. She’s also helped me come up with many other fanfic ideas and goodies.
I have a new chaotic Azul x Reader fic that’s hilarious. Let’s just say the Octavinelle trio came up with a potion that turns humans into merpeople. Floyd, being Floyd, kidnaps you to try the concoction. He thinks your going to turn into a half shrimp. Azul and Jade think you’ll be generic merperson. Nobody’s correct and you turn into an octopus merperson like Azul. Then, Azul has to teach you how to use your limbs. It develops from there. It’s hilarious. Also the Clown Crew (ADeuce and Grim) are looking for you and panicking.
I’m writing a Deuce x Reader in a Royalty setting. I took inspo from @solxamber’s isekai series. It’s my favorite twst series. Deuce is a knight because of course he would be. He doesn’t recognize you, the heir to the Kingdom of Ramshackle, and asks if your lost. You’re looking for a new bodyguard and you want to test this guy. Deuce passes the tests and becomes your personal protector.
We also got a Lilia x Reader which is basically continuous child acquisition. After meeting Malleus and learning his situation, you decide to help him learn to socialize. Once you’ve helped him for awhile, Lilia pays you a visit and approves. Soon, Savanaclaw’s plot to take out the Diasomnia team is revealed and you help form a plan, gaining Lilia’s respect.

I love your AU so much, it's so cute!
I need to know what kinds of adventures Adeuce gets up to with their caterpillar. The name Absolem comes to mind (or perhaps Alistair?) just because that's what the caterpillar from Tim Burton's Alice is named, if you're wanting to keep with that theme.
I'd love to see what Octavinelle looks like in your AU (they're my favorites!!!) but take your time, and make it how you want it to be. You're doing wonderful work!
im shocked i actually forgot about there being a caterpillar in alice in wonderland. absolem sounds a bit too serious imo, i was imaging a cutesy name to match his appearance lol. im considering "fozzy" like fozzy the bear.
putting this under the cut for those who want to read my very sane ramblings
I imagine A+D adventures would be very much in the vein of the original AT episodes with every one having a new storyline and introducing new characters, and then later episodes having those characters come back and revealing more backstory/becoming more involved in the overall plot (ie magic man, slime princess, etc). and then ofc a more "core" cast with more frequently occurring characters like heartslabyul and maybe some other first years. It would definitely be ace and deuce-centric with them driving most of the interactions and then gradually having more and more episodes that arent just about them.
in my head riddle introduction goes like this: A+D are native to the garden kingdom and are doing their regular stupid shit. that day it just happens to be doing parkour in the royal gardens. riddle comes along and is ofc furious and being the overreactive little freak that he is, banishes them from the kingdom. that's how they meet cater, who introduces them to trey, and they eventually kick riddles ass and its revealed he has a very controlling mother who influences his behavior. riddle realizes the error of his ways and they all team up and usurp her. riddle takes over the kingdom and is now mostly an ally.
trust me i love riddle and a lot of other characters but almost everyone would start out as being a cartoon villain bc that's just the nature of AT. leona is a prince but has no real political power so spends his days bullying civilians. epel has been enslaved by an evil witch (vil) and needs the help of A+D to beat him up, but after vil's defeat epel understands him better and becomes his apprentice by choice. jack the wolf seems hostile at first but they learn he is actually a human who has been cursed and he spends like the entire series trying to break the curse and you only get to see him human in the very last episode lol. everyone will be a silly character with silly problems but overall still sympathetic and relatable. it will have some sad and heartfelt moments but mostly remain lighthearted (just like AT). these are cartoony, oversimplified representations of canon twst, not meant to be realistic takes or a deep dive into mental illness.
i'll be working on octavinelle once i finish savanclaw (they will all be in order) but azul is going to be the octopus wizard and he has 2 evil henchmen. they run a successful seafood restaurant as a front for their magical crime ring. or maybe A+D defeat them and convince them to go into the food business instead of organized crime and they find out they are really good at it lol

A Sea Cookie Hyperanalysis Post (Sugarteara/Wandercrab)
I couldn't think of a proper title. WARNING: Long.
Now, anyone who has at least seen/clicked on this blog before knows that the Ovenbreak sea cookies are my absolute favourites. I love them. However, making analyses tend to take a long time for me due to being a crippling literary perfectionist especially when it comes to characters I like, which may be why i ended up writing up this post waaay later than i intended to. Fashionably late too, as Wandercrab is now over a year old.....shoot.
But anyways, this analysis will be split over two posts. This first one will be mostly about Sugarteara, the next one Wandercrab. (For the sake of my sanity i am not confusing myself by bringing up Octopus here. They're going in the next chapter. ) There will be some mention of the Tower of Frozen Waves gang, but I wont be talking ahout them much. Mostly due to me generally not being as interested in them as much as the underwater guys.
Small note that I am not a media literacy wizard and may have interpreted some things wrong despite my research! I've tried making it as best as i can though, because not only is this a pretty self-indulgent post, but I kinda just... you know. Want the best for my lil guys. They deserve the best.
Anyways, moving on!!
The Role of Sea Fairy Cookie
First, I want to quickly talk about Sea Fairy. Because not only is she an interesting character, but she's also indirectly (or directly, if you interpret it that way) the reason this whole storyline happened in the first place.
Lore wise, she's probably one of the most interesting CROB legendaries (I specifically say CROB because I know that her lore in Kingdom is very different). She's constantly trying to escape the darkness trying to consume her, the curses inflicted upon her by an unknown higher power, all the while looking to the sky in search of hope. Misery lies in every corner of the ocean, to her. And when the threat of death and corruption is so near, it makes sense, actually. She fights fate already by simply staying alive. The moon, so close yet so far away, is the embodiment of the hope she's been searching for. The only source of light when the waters she calls home are darker than the night sky. The Tower of Frozen Waves is a symbol of escapism, yes, but also hope. Everything about her echoes hope. Because she has it rough, she truly does, but she'll suffer her fate again and again and countless more times so long as she lives and breathes.
Despite this all, she's also very willing to discard her hopes and dreams if it means her domain doesn't suffer as she does.
Which leads to events such as this happening:

Hmm Sea Fairy why are you all the way down in the deep ocean what happened here-
The Lost City of Sugarteara
An underwater city crafted from a legendary being's profound sorrow. A place that seemed radiant, almost a utopia, but in reality, the opposite was true. To the point where the being who held the grief had to keep herself captive in the city in order to not have the darkness seeping into the place spread to the rest of the ocean.
So if its fall was inevitable, then why did they make the city in the first place? We know the place didn't instantly materialise but was instead an active choice made by the founders, so why did they have so much faith in the pearl? Even knowing that the raw emotions of the divine was not something to be easily reckoned with?
And I think that this logic can be explained by the simple fact that Sea Fairy was, to them, nothing short of a god. She was the being who had sole and complete power over her domain and their home, the one who bestowed compassion to everyone throughout the seas. To them, a treasure with such connection to her as the Sacred Pearl, was a blessing. And what better way to memorialise the Almighty Sea's fallen treasure than in the form of a civilisation? A place where everyone the pearl has blessed can come and celebrate it and the prosperity it brings?
However, no matter how much they protected, decorated and celebrated the place, the denizens could not hide that the city's existence was one of sorrow, just like its source, the pearl. The emotions of despair infused into the treasure were never meant to last forever, trying to keep it from deteriorating was impossible, and soon enough, the people realised this and they left. One by one, until the faith that had held the city together in the first place was suddenly on the verge of a devastating collapse, only delayed by the steadfast loyalty of two.
Now cut to a depressed crustacean leading two children (well, it is heavily debated as to whether Sorbet Shark is actually a child or not) and Wave Drop (another one of Sea Fairy's treasures, this time it's one of happiness and she left it on the tower as far away from the ocean as possible, while her treasure of misery was left to sink. Oh, symbolism, my best friend) down into the frozen city to save Sea Fairy from her fate once more, and also defeat the Very Evil Manta Ray trying to hold control over the city via the captive Sea Fairy. So really, all of their goals are being met here. There isn't much left of the city, apart from the buildings and sugar crystals, and they don't encounter much on their way to the temple.
Only thing is, the Very Evil Manta Ray speak Lobster had been doing pretty much consisted entirely of lies. Most of what they said at all in the cutscenes consisted entirely of lies, full stop. However, these were lies that Lobster themselves actually believed in a way. To them, they were the only one of the two left actually doing something to bring the denizens back. It didnt matter that it involved seemingly corrupting the one thing that held the place together, it just mattered that it did the job. To bring back the city's glory. Which is why they were surprised when Mocha Ray decided to oppose them. Surprised, hurt even, to the point where they genuinely believed she didn't actually want the people, and in turn, the city back. That she herself was the corrupted one. After all, one effort was better than what seemed to be nothing, so why prevent it from happening?
Peppermint and Sorbet don't know this however, for the better or for the worse, and when they eventually get into the temple (after a bit of experimentation with Wave Drop), they're met with Mocha Ray's iconic first appearance that, while iconic, also seems to play along with the lies they've been told about her.

Everything about this scene screams "villainous". The context behind it, the barriers, heck, even the lighting seems villainous here. The general mystery surrounding her as up to this point, the only information we know about her being the few words spoken by Lobster (the untrue ones as mentioned above). If the city was just as abandoned as they said it was, then why lock yourself up in one singular place? Why lock yourself up in what is basically the core of the city, the one place that dictates the city's existence? What else could you be doing there, other than scheming? Other than villainy? This mystery is what made the lies so easy to believe. We never saw Mocha's own side of the story, heck we never even saw HER up until now.
Which is why it comes as such a surprise when the two guardian's intentions seem to do a complete 180 when they both reach the pearl. The supposed villain ends up taking the good side, trying to protect Sea Fairy, and in turn, the entire ocean from harm, and the supposed hero takes the other. They then proceed to fight to the death, with Mocha Ray being overpowered, until Sea Fairy manages to come back to her senses and quickly eradicates the city (which was directly linked to both of their powers, but I'd say it definitely affected Lobster's more. I mean, they lost their claw. Again. It's a bit of a stretch to say Mocha's powers were directly influenced by the city at all, since it has been showed she kept them even after Sugarteara. )
But one thing I want to quickly talk about is the dynamics between the two. They're complete opposites. In personality, in morals, their roles in the story, they're on opposite sides of the spectrum on almost everything. Even design. (I think the fact that if you inverse their colours they end just having the other's ones was very intentional.) They literally could not be more different if not for one thing - the fact that they were both guardians of the same city. A similarity that shouldn't have as much impact as it does. The fact that these two, despite having their different reasons, were still the only ones who actually stayed until the end. They both were the only citizens who didn't leave on their own accord and actually had it taken away from them, unlike literally everyone else. And weirdly enough, that makes them more similar and intertwined than most of the characters in the entire franchice. Sugarteara is just like that.
But that's where the similarities end. Because even though they are both left with practically nothing by the end, they have some VERY different reactions to this whole situation.
Mocha Ray is surprisingly unfazed. Calm. Which is a bit uncalled for as she is the one who almost died in that. And when such an important place to her had suddenly been lost, you'd think there would be a small amount of grief. But no. Instead, she immediately looks to the future and eagerly tells everyone about her plans. And admits that maybe the city was doomed from the start. In a way, she's sort of facing her own fate head on, like Sea Fairy. (which by the way, their dynamic is hella interesting too because well, Mocha at this point is most likely Sea Fairy's biggest worshipper. She lived in the city crafted from and dedicated to one of Sea Fairy's treasures, and lived the best part of her life in the temple as a priestess specifically while also being one of the last denizens left before the whole destruction happened. And she was definitely the last one who still believed in Sea Fairy's will to keep the treasure and the city alive. The tremendous influence is showing here and I love it.)
She carries on, fully knowing rebuilding a city that in her eyes is just as beautiful as the place she left will take a long, long time. Despite having almost no remnants of a plan on how to get there. I say almost none, because her plan at the end of this is to find Lobster, who seems to have entirely disappeared (We will get to this later). You know, the guy who almost killed her?? The one who attempted to corrupt Sea Fairy with the darkness in the first place???? What the heck??
But in Mocha's perspective, it makes sense. Because she knows they are quite literally the only other person with the same goal as her. It also helps that despite moving on (somewhat) fairly quickly, she's also stuck in the past, and I would say almost as rigid as, if not more rigid than Lobster. Because at least Lobster's viewpoint of a person can change, hence the whole switch up with Mocha Ray. But Mocha still sees Lobster as a good person who is simply misguided, because of how they were back when the city thrived. So rigid, but in an hopeful way that could be confused as blind trust, but it really isn't that. Naivety? Maybe.
Its just a bit too bad, seeing how Lobster is her foil and all, because on their side of the story....
Yeah. That. The weirdly ominous scene where we find out that the plan to corrupt Sea Fairy via the pearl was not their own. Instead, that can be credited to the aptly named Eerie Anglerfish (who just so happens to be a messenger-type creature made by Dark Enchantress. It's unknown whether this is just a random fish corrupted and turned into a spy for evil, or whether this is the voice of DE herself.) But the reason I say it's aptly named is.. well.... look at the way it convinces Lobster to carry on.

Manipulation at its finest. The way this is worded makes me think that, no, makes me sure that Eerie Anglerfish was watching Lobster for a long while before making a move. I mean, there was lots of time, and there would've been more if Lobster didn't try and corrupt the pearl. Watching, of course, to try and bring Sea Fairy to the darkness. She seemed like the easiest target to DE as well, too hopeless and pathetic to protect herself, but powerful enough to have some sort of value. And as always, with a being such as her, there will be followers. Even DE had some. Now they were indeed loyal and would follow her every order, but there weren't any that could traverse the seas, and her goal was to conquer all of Earthbread, was it not? Including the domain of the lonely ocean. How? Via the lonely ocean legendary. Where? In the lonely ocean city. The only way to do this, however, was to recruit a new member, one who could access the domain which wouldve been unpassable to any of her other servants. And to DE's surprise, when the time came to strike, there only seemed to be two to pick from. Perfect.
Mocha Ray was out of the question. Despite being the closest to Sea Fairy, she most likely never even met the angler, because for a start, the temple, where she permanently resided was filled with barriers and traps of her own making. But even if the angler could get to her, she would absolutely not be convinced. Because as mentioned earlier, she is Sea Fairy's biggest worshipper, and would more likely kill the angler than be swayed. Mocha ray, following Dark Enchantress? Nope. Not happening. Non. Nada.
So that just leaves one. Lobster. Surprisingly easy to manipulate seeing that they had practically the same amount of loyalty to the city as Mocha, despite it showing in drastically different ways. And in those opposite ways lied opposite chances. Watching the two guardians fall apart, latching onto one was a piece of cake. Playing around with falling loyalty and watching it slowly dissipate as the target loses trust in the being meant to protect them? Easy.
When compared to the indiscernable mind of the temple keeper, the crystal-clawed sentinel's thoughts could be read like a book.
All she had to do, for them to join her, was provide a remedy. A cure for the dying, sacred city.
But with the plans of Dark Enchantress, the remedy was not going to work anyhow. It was never going to restore the glorious city, only conjure a twisted version of what was once a place of radiance. It didn't need Sea Fairy to fail, but she wasn't expecting it to end this way either. So she did the only thing she could possibly do without losing this newfound follower.
Another remedy. Another cure. Sugarteara was gone, so where else could they go? And the city would be revived. Back to its rightful glory, with newfound powers and a leader they could actually trust.
All of this, with one small condition. Their loyalty.
An offer they could not refuse.
TO BE CONTINUED !!!

This is the end of the first half of my hyperanalysis! (This took way longer to write than I intended, almost two months of pure procrastination) The wandercrab sector will probably arrive three years late if I'm being honest (just like the actual update), but I had a lot of fun writing this! If you actually got to the end then thank you for being one of the people actually interested enough in my words!!
Until next time!

So I was gonna make a comic about Abyss Monarch being emo, but all I had were random jokes about it with no setup, so it just ended up being this
I think the idea was that in Kingdom, they were gathering all the Legendaries, and so Sea Fairy brought Abyss Monarch, who’s sitting in the corner doing their eyeshadow. They also hate being here
I know I said before it’d be neat having Abyss Monarch and Black Pearl be related, but at some point it shifted over to Abyss Monarch and Sea Fairy being related, I think because in my head it went “so Sea Fairy represents the sea, and Abyss Monarch represents the deep sea” while Black Pearl is more of a powerful creature of the sea
Though also, I think I might have done that for the sake of this joke, with Sea Fairy being like, “yeah, they’re going through some sort of phase right now” and Abyss Monarch’s like “it’s not a phase, MOM!” If it were Black Pearl, I feel like she would encourage this new behavior and be like “yes, give in to your hatred!”
But upon remembering why I said I wanted Black Pearl and Abyss Monarch to be related, I began to go back to that. Honestly I don’t know which one I prefer now, but I suppose it depends on whether Abyss Monarch is more “creature of the sea” or “representation of an aspect of the sea”
I know I’ve been beating the emo thing like a dead horse, but I think I just needed to get these drawings out of my system, and hopefully I’ll be good
But I just think Abyss Monarch being a little emo is funny
Also assuming their original name was Octopus, Abyss Monarch kind of does sound like an edgy new name, like you’d see for a stereotypical emo phase
#cookie run#cookie run ovenbreak#abyss monarch cookie#sea fairy cookie#poorly drawn comics#well not comics but it was just ideas for one that I put on one page bc I couldn’t figure out a plot#my art

When the Preeminent was finally submerged, something... Strange... Happened. All of the remaining ghosts collapsed to the floor at the same time. Every single one of them. Lloyd watched, confused as Morro fell.
He should probably... Do something? Right?
He walked over to the ghost, cautiously.
He instinctively reached out to roll Morro over, but his hand faded through the ghost's body.
Luckily- or unluckily, depending on how you looked at it- the ghost stirred after only a few awkward moments of stillness.
Morro rolled over, blinking and confused. Lloyd's green eyes met Morro's brown for only a second before jerking away, searching for anywhere else to look other than the eyes of his-
Wait.
Morro's eyes were green.
Why are they brown now?
Unless...
"Where... Am I?" The ghost asked slowly.
What.
"You are in Stixx, Morro. You know, the place where you literally released a giant tentacle monster and then tried to curse the entire realm? That place?"
Lloyd looked back at Morro. The ghost looked like you had just told him his grandma died and then killed his puppy.
"You... Do remember doing that, right?"
Morro shook his head no.
"Do you remember possessing me? Breaking into Cloud Kingdom? Stealing the armour?"
"I don't- Cloud Kingdom? What? Why would i-"
"GET THE FU- FRICK AWAY FROM MY BROTHER YOU JERK!"
Lloyd almost didn't have time to react as Nya started throwing water blasts at the ghost. Almost. He jumped in front of her, getting absolutely drenched in water but not letting any past him.
"Nya stop! I'm fine! I don't think he's a threat right now."
Nya paused at his words "The bi- JERK- that jerk fricking kidnapped you, Lloyd! How could you say he's not a threat?!"
"He doesn't even remember who I am, Nya! I don't think he remembers anything from after he died!"
"Okay, um... Thanks for like... Saving me or whatever that was, but can I PLEASE have some more fucking context about... Whatever is going on here? Why is Blondie wearing that? And who are you? I thought Maya was the master of water."
"SEE?! He doesn't even know where we are. And if you look, his eyes are BROWN now."
Nya let the ball of water that she was preparing fall to the floor. "What?"
"My eyes have always been brown, Blondie. Unless they haven't? This doesn't look like those caves. Or the cursed realm. Where did you say we are again?"
"Stixx. You escaped the cursed realm, kidnapped Lloyd, and freed the preeminent. Do you seriously not remember that?"
"Freed the who? That giant octopus wanna-be? Gross, why would I do that? That thing's ugly as fuck. Also you never answered my question about Maya."
The two ninja just stared at Morro in shock, before looking at each other.
"Okay, so... Chances of... That... Being some sort of mind control?" Nya asked.
"Pretty high. My scan, along with interviews from the other remaining spirits, suggest that none of them remember anything after arriving in the cursed realm the first time." Came a voice from behind, speaking as hesitantly as a nindroid could.
"Okay... So... What now?"
"I say we gather the remaining ghosts and... I don't know, put them in a deep stone cell until we figure out what to do next. Zane, do you think you could get the others started on that? But have W- have Sensei come to us. I think he will want to talk to a certain... Someone."
"I am right here, green bean. How long was I fucking gone? Is that actually the green gi, or is it just some copy? I died, so clearly it wasn't supposed to be me... Was I gone long enough for Wu to find the real green ninja? How long did it take for him to replace me?"
Before Lloyd could answer, Morro froze.
"Morro?" Asked the old man, standing at the entrance of the alley.
"Umm... Hi... Dad... It's been a while, hasn't it? Or... Not that long if these two were telling the truth... Did I really... Do all that?"
Wu ran to the ghost faster than he had ever seen his uncle run before.
"Morro... Is it- is it really you?"
"Were you expecting someone else?" Morro joked nervously.
"When you- At the tea shop, I had hoped that- That wasn't you right? Please tell me that wasn't really you."
"What tea shop? The last thing I remember is showing up in some ugly ass green ribcage and yelling at some bitch, and the next thing I know I'm here."
"Language," Nya said. "There are children in the room- er- alley."
"Okay, well I don't know how long I was gone, but last I checked I was 14, so does it really fucking matter if I swear around children?"
That seemed to cause everyone in the alley to pause.
"You were 14?"
"You're telling me I got kidnapped by a child who is YOUNGER THAN ME?!"
"But... You left the monastery only 3 months before your 15'th birthday... How long were you out there before..."
"As far as I'm concerned, the last time I saw you was when I walked down those stairs a month and a half ago."
"Morro... That was 40 YEARS ago... You left the monastery 40 years ago."

Town of Puddle: Vampires
Last updated 08/14/2023
In the world of Puddle, vampire is a catch-all term for any humanoid creature that needs to consume something from a human to survive - usually human flesh or blood, but some subsist on other things such as emotions, dreams, etc. The most common vampire is the classic undead vampire. Vampires are usually immortal or very long-lived.
While vampires are thought to have any number of origins, there is in fact one singular origin from which they descend. The first vampires were nephilim, the children of the demon Asherah and the angel Rapha. Asherah was the queen of a kingdom named Hell. Tales of this kingdom and her rule would pass through the ages and become distorted into mythology. Rapha was an angel of blood with a terrible hunger his children would inherit. Both are long dead and gone, but their influence on their descendants lingers. Common vampiric powers, such as glamours and shapeshifting, come from these ancient ancestors.
Asherah and Rapha’s children were destined to rule, for a time anyway, over all corners of the earth. Some were more suited to the forests or mountains or cities, others to the sea or even the skies. These first vampires would eventually give rise to all the different types of vampires we see today.
The kingdoms of vampires were matriarchal, modeled after Asherah’s own kingdom. Matriarchs are a special type of vampire suited to rule, and childbirth. Mundane vampires have difficulty bearing children, most being completely infertile. Natural-born vampires are thus rare but not unheard of. Most vampires nowadays are turned, from human to vampire as other creatures are immune or will simply die to vampirism.
A childe (plural, childer) is a vampire that has been turned by another, who is their sire. One of the few remaining widespread cultural norms for vampires, is that a sire has some degree of responsibility for their childer shortly after they are turned, and it is good practice to teach them local vampire rules, history, and etiquette.
While most vampires prefer solitary existences, many vampires form groups for mutual support. These groups often vie for power in shadowy undergrounds that exist away from human eyes. A vampire group might be called a gang, a pack, or a coven.
Below are my named vampires so far. If you’re curious about even more, @wyrmzier also has their own Puddle vampire characters you can ask about.
Vivian Moon used to be human, but she was turned into a vampire. She is like a siphonophore, a colony inhabiting a human form. Because she is a colony of organisms she can survive grave injuries or even dismemberment, for short periods of time. When her limbs are separated from her body they have their own intelligence, like an octopus’s. Vivian works as a forensic consultant for a special precinct dedicated to investigating monster-related crimes.
Ethel Stone is Vivian’s friend in City Hall, who keeps her informed of political goings-on and secretly helps out her fellow vampires. Ethel is a lamprey vampire.
Teutho Melua is a vampiric pirate captain with a love of theatrics and parties. He is Vivian and Mordecai’s sire. Teutho is initially very narcissistic and bloodthirsty, but after some character development he becomes slightly less narcissistic. He is still bloodthirsty.
Mordecai Esadze is Teutho’s first mate. He is dark, serious, and grumpy, to balance Teutho’s more flashy personality. Mordecai is responsible and secretly more of a softie than he lets on.
Adelaide is Mordecai’s childe, his only one. As a human she sought the change, vampires call these sorts of humans “bite-chasers.” Now she manages a modest network of underground clubs and casinos, and in her spare time enjoys breeding snakes.
Lilian Heather is the adopted daughter of Samuel, and an up-and-coming actress.
Melanthios is an ancient vampire, thousands of years old and now more monstrous than humanoid. He is Menodora’s mate.
Malakos was the youngest of Menodora’s children, a cruel and egotistical vampire who controlled a small criminal empire on the Black Sea. He was Teutho’s sire, and was killed by Teutho and Mordecai.
Hyacinth is another of Malakos's childer, who pursues Teutho for a time.
Chise is Vivian’s mother, a bakeneko vampire. She abandoned Vivian at a young age, leaving her with no knowledge of her heritage.
Lycan was an ancient vampire, a child of Rapha and Asherah. His pursuit of a cure for vampirism led to the creation of werewolves.
Felisity is an ancient cat vampire, and a Matriarch. She was a queen of a small kingdom and was worshipped as an aspect of the goddess Bastet for many years, but eventually was dethroned and went into hiding.

c-could we have some crumbs of what Yuu and Yutu’s life was like before Yuu died? any particular moments that Yutu may remember fondly for example? 👉👈
Of course my friend, let me see if I can make this less angsty than some of the other posts (challenge impossible)
notes: they/them used for Yuu, this is part of the fyuuture kid au which can be found here and here
I want to leave exactly where in the world Yuu and Yutu are from up to the reader, but I sort of see them as having lived in a small town. They moved at least once to get away from the rumor mill of the place Yuu went missing from, Yutu doesn't have a lot of fond memories of Yuu's og hometown. He remembers it as a place where people were constantly talking about where they thought Yuu went for all the years they went missing.
Even after they moved Yuu and Yutu were considered to be weird and seen as outcasts, something I think Yuu was more upset about it than Yutu was. Until the game explains the rules of Yuu's world, in my mind it is sort of functioning off of Kingdom Hearts logic where when traveling to a different world, your form changes to reflect that one so no merfolk forms for the Octotrio's kids, no beastmen traits for the Savanaclaw kids, and no ability to use Twisted Wonderland like magic for anyone. Yutu can still tell he should have those things and it bothered him a lot.
It was a wild experience to be taken through the mirror and have his ears change or learn he was part fish.
I like to think that Yuu had a job working nights so they could spend more time with Yutu during the day, in what field I leave up to you but they were a really hard worker who saved all their pto and vacation days to attend Yutu's school events and any extracurricular stuff he decided to do. That meant a lot to Yutu, his feelings about his dad change depending on a few things but he never felt like he was lacking in support from Yuu.
Little Yutu really liked making crafts for Yuu. He was really into origami flowers for a while and still knows how to make them, though he's a bit embarrassed by it now.
Yutu genuinely likes Yuu's cooking even if it isn't good. I like the idea of Yutu and Yuu baking cakes together on birthdays, picking out a box mix and fun frosting so they can decorate it the exact way Yutu wants to. A bit before they died Yutu surprised them by baking a cake all on his own the day before their birthday, Yuu was very proud of him and Yutu was just a tiny bit smug about it.
I like to think Yuu subconsciously bought Yutu a stuffed animal that related to Twisted Wonderland in some way. A black cat, a white rabbit, a lion, or maybe even an octopus. Yutu isn't very creative with names so he just named his animals after himself, which is something Yuu would have been able to tease him about because he is very sensitive about it.
Any holidays that are significantly important to Yuu are important to Yutu as well. If you have family traditions that you passed on to him he will think of those fondly and will have told his friends, both in your world and Twisted Wonderland, about them. I like to think that Yuu might have come up with someones unique to them and Yutu since their memories of their past weren't great, so the new ones they made with their son were very important to them.
He especially liked Halloween. It's easily his favorite holiday and he used to get really excited to dress up with Yuu.
Yuu used to read Yutu bedtime stories, and he did like those, but he has really strong memories of times when they would work together to make up a story. He could still repeat some of those back to you... if you knew to ask him about them.
I am interested in hearing what sort of things you would think about Yuu doing with Yutu, or hobbies you think would be fun for specific Yutus to pursue.

ahhh?? November 11 definitely suits you! Where I live (I'm from the Philippines actually!) 11:11 pm at night is where we can wish our dreams to come true. There are 2 reasons, one from it being an angel number and two 'cause it's where the universe listens to you.
Mera having an 11/11 bday makes sense like sooooo much! I support anonnie with their statement! It's like you are our own universe who listens to all our rambles and makes our twisted dreams come true. YUP, starting right now 11/11 is Mera day!!
(つ✧ω✧)つ💐 - a bouquet of roses for you and a here 🦈 a shark to scare away a sleazy, nasty tako.
Ps. I've also just learnt that moray eels actually prey on octopuses, especially in reef environments.
AAAAA ANONNNNN!!!!! 。°(°.◜ᯅ◝°)°。 I genuinely teared up reading this,,, this is so unbelievably sweet... "it's like you are our own universe who listens to all our rambles and makes our twisted dreams come true" OMG?!?!? OMG!!!!!!! I fear such kindness and high praise are enough to construct an ego the size of a kingdom... ^^;; truly, thank you very much!! I shall happily take the rose bouquet and shark you have graciously bestowed upon me~~ hehehe!! <3 sending the shark after that sleazy tako as we speak!!!!! (*-`ω´- )人
But the 11:11 is also very special where I'm from for those reasons as well! When I was younger, my classmates were always keen on making wishes at that time. It's also a lovely date because 11/11 is pocky day!!!! >w< once more, I'm very happy to know it's a birthday that suits me! ✨✨✨✨
(Azul has so much aura being friends with two eels who prey on octopus. He carries them around like designer handbags and those eels answer to him,, I can think of no greater trio. The fish are wonderful... orz)

100 CELEBRATION – PROMPT 7. MERMAID AU
TECH/ FEMALE READER 💖
WARNINGS: This story alternates between reader's and third person (Tech'ish) pov. Seahorses can survive in cold temperatures in this fic because I say so. Fleeting mention of mer-child abandonment. Very tiny non-graphic shark attack. Otherwhise fluff, fluff and fluff!
Note: this is my third time –second for Tech– writing mermaids for our clones! In this one-shot, both Tech and female reader are mermaids, though from different sub-species. Hope you like it, let me know!
Link at a second (optional) part at the end.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Below the surface, where the world is a myriad of blues and different marine kingdoms coexist, there are two subspecies of mermaids. Shallow mers mainly live in lakes and ponds; the few that not, never wander too far away into the cold, dark depths of the ocean. Their thin, iridiscent scales are more suited for warmer temperatures; while the thickness of the deep-water mers allows them to travel surprising distances down where the sun can no longer reach. Deep-water mers have strong powerful tails and sharp canines and claws that turn them into dangerous predators; shallow mers, though agile and fast, aren't a comparable threat.
You've never seen one of them.
You've heard the stories, of course; heard of their aggression and how they lurk in the darkness to hunt any poor creature that has dared to enter their waters alone. You've seen the scars that their claws and bites have left on some of your people; deep marks carved deep into scales and skin. They've appeared on your nightmares –when you were nothing but a kid–; bubbles tinged with the scarlet red of your blood. Everyone shares the same opinion about them; they're hostile, dangerous, and you should never, never, never, get close to any of them.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It's a beautiful day. Rays of sunlight reflects the water in a way that makes it sparkle; almost as if thousends of tiny stars had fallen into it. The ocean is cold enough for a dive into it to feel refreshing; but not as much as to bring unpleasant shivers to your skin.
You spend most part of the morning exploring the reef and curiously observing different types of starfishes around the corals; pausing here and there to play with the ocasional mischiveous octopus or angry crab. After so many years living in the sea, you know by now when to interact with them and when to give them space; and you are very careful of respecting the sealife around you. It's a delicate balance for all of you to live in peace.
After a small but satisfying lunch you make your way to your best friend's home; a tiny seahorse you've long decided to name Yellow. Basic, you're aware; but well, your friendship started many, many years ago, when you were finally getting the trick on how to properly swim. When your mother left you. Once a shallow mer gives birth, the mother takes care of her child until the newborn has adquired the knowledge on how to survive on it's own; then, they follow different paths, so the young mer learns to face the difficulties of the ocean on it's own. If he's strong enough, he'll push through; and one day he may reunite with others and close the cycle with a child of it's own. Perhaps for some it may seem like a cruel thing; but that's how it has always been, how your subspecies still exists today. It's a solitary life; but there are so many unexpected places to find friends.
Yellow's home consists in an almost complete circle of redish and orange corals not too far away from the water's surface. There's a lot of plancton in this part of the reef; so it makes sense for the small seahorse to have settled here. He's as chirpy as always to greet you; swimming excitedly around you before anchoring his tail to a strand of your multicoloured hair. You chuckle at the thought of it looking almost like a tiny seatbelt for your hipocampus friend.
"Good afternoon, dear Yellow" you tell him affectionately, the knowledge that he doesn't understand your language never detering you into chatting with him. "What shall we do today, mm?"
You like to go on little adventures with Yellow; explore new parts of the reef or perhaps make new acquaintances together. He's a little energetic thing, and so adorable you never get bored with him.
"Wanna' try to find some parrot-fish?" You propose, and he moves his tiny dorsal fin in agreement.
He may not get your every word; but he can read into the way you move and talk. By the tone of your voice, he knows you're offering some exploring. If he didn't feel like it and he'd prefer to stay closer to home, he'd have let you know by staying completely immobile.
"Mision parrot-fish it is. Hold on to that seatbelt" you smile happily, and slowly begin to swim.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
In the end, your innocent trip turns to be a heartbreaking disaster; an encounter with a triaenodon shark has an unexpected outcome. They're usually pacific creatures, but the blood slowly trickling from one of it's sides has evidently scare the animal enough to react agressively at the posibility of a second predator going in for the easy kill. You've got no time to try to difuse the situation; as the wounded shark inmediately lurches for you. A terrified Yellow abandons the now precarious cover of your hair; releasing air to quickly let himself sink into the ocean and away from the fighting scene.
It's a game of swim-dodge-redirect from there. Finally, to your relief, the shark exhausts herself and decides to cautiously leave; and panting, body aching from the effort, you let out a long sigh of relief. The terrifying part of the encounter isn't the minor wounds you now carry on your skin; not even the fear and adrenaline. No; the real scary part is that Yellow is nowhere to be seen, and you can't seem to find him after an exhaustive search.
Tears in your eyes at the thought of losing your tiny best friend, you continue swimming downwards in the direction you knew he escaped to; so anxiously focused on finding him you don't even notice the way the water darkens around you and the increasing cold that freezes your skin.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
"Yellow!" You call him in a happy cry when you finally get sight of him.
In just two quick ondulations of your tail you're floating right next to him; and the little seahorse inmediately goes to hide on your hair.
"Oh, Yellow" a tear finally manages to roll down your cheek. You talk to him in a hushed, tender whisper. "I was so worried for you! I thought I was never going to find you! Oh, dear friend, I think we're gonna' have to take a break from exploring for a while..."
You're so overwhelmed by being reunited with the small hipocampus that you don't even notice the way he seems to shrink away; and tug insistently at your hair. You don't even realise you're not alone anymore until you hear the sound of something big moving too close to you in the darkness of the water.
Fear instantly spreads through your body, and you tense scanning the ocean around you. It's then when you noticed that fuck, you're deep; the cold almost unbearable and your eyes having trouble adjusting to the lack of sunlight. You don't see the creature lurking until it's right in front of you.
It's a deep-water mer.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Tech curiously observes the mer interacting with the tiny hipocampus. She's nothing like he has seen before. There are so many differences between them that the deep-water mer can't help but put a stop in his journey back home to study her. It's highly unusual to find one of them here; it's too cold, too dark, and their bodies aren't enough adapted to be permanently exposed to the depths of the ocean.
Tech has never come across a shallow mer before. Their subspecies live in different layers of their wide acuatic habitat; and shallow mers are incredibly timid, elusive creatures, always opting to flee without further questioning than to expose themselves to any danger. He can understand that; evolution hasn't gifted them with the same resources as deep-water mers. For the rumours he's heard, Tech knows shallow mers lack of pointy canines and their thick, resistent skin; tail also smaller, thinner, and less powerful than theirs. While the shallow mer subspecies had slowly adapted to a tranquil, mostly uneventful life on the surface, deep-water mers had had to perfectionate their hunting techniques; and any useful fighting traits had been inherited through generation after generation to what they are now.
Tech can't really understand her words; they sound similar to their language, though in a higher, more melodious register. Still, he can read the relief and melting worry in her body; the way she seems to sag upon finding the small yellow seahorse, who quickly hides in her hair. Tech observes them curiously; are they... friends?
She has a small heart-shaped face; her big expressive green eyes, plush lips, and button nose giving her an innocent look. Streaks of blue, green, red and yellow paints her long half-braided hair without an apparent order; perhaps trying to imitate the vibrant colours of the corals of the reefs above. Two pairs of small thin fins protrude from the tragus of each ear; probably vestigial and without real function. Her skin is much paler than his; and while deep-water mers have dark blue and black scales, colours shared as well with the tail, shallow mers apparently carry a very different canvas on their body. The scales on her upper chest begins with the same pale tone of her human skin, and transitions to a mint and persian green towards her tail. Tech notices it's much smaller and narrower than his; the flukes aren't as pointy, and there isn't a stinger at the end. It's a mix of the previous greens and some darker emerald colour as well.
Tech's own colours mostly mimetizes him with the depths of the ocean; but even with that advantage, he has remain staring for too long to pass completely unnoticed. At least by one of the two creatures barely twenty feet in front of him; the hipocampus trying to alert her fellow distracted friend.
Tech can tell when she exactly realises they're not alone. Her whole body tenses; eyes quickly scanning the water around them. They pass right over him once; then, her frightened gaze returns to his figure and transforms into terror. She freezes staring at him.
Tech understands her fear; it's only sensitive. She can barely see him from this distance in the depths of the ocean; his blue-black tail dissappearing in the darkness. Tech realises right then that, as much as he has heard stories of shallow mers been shy, mostly innocent creatures, it's possible she has heard stories about them as well; and by the mers reaction, Tech can guess the ones about deep-water mers aren't as pretty.
Still, Tech's endless curiosity hasn't been extinguished after one brief examination; so he very slowly aproaches her until they're nothing but three feet apart from each other. Tech's attention is again redirected to the creature's hair; the small underwater currents softly moving the few colourfull strands that escapes her braid in a half halo around her head. Up close, it holds an almost iridiscent hue; and Tech reaches a clawed finger to carefully trace a strand up and down, enthraced. His eyes scan the shallow mer again, and Tech has a sudden realisation that surprises himself; she's pretty, and he's so confused and lost at his own thoughts he can't do anything else but blink at her. There's endless beauty in the ocean, he has admired it countless of times before; and yet, no creature had personally called to his desires and perception of attraction like this.
Lost in his silent pondering, it takes Tech a few minutes to realise the level of stress the poor creature is experiencing at his presence. The shallow mer is uncontrollably shaking; eyes shut tight and heartbeat speeding at such a pace Tech can hear it in the quietness of the ocean. He had asumed she'd understand he meant no harm by now; but clearly there's another million options that are passing through the mer's mind, and Tech decides to give her space.
Upon the swoosh of his tail, the shallow-mer carefully opens her green eyes again; analysing him in what feels like an eternal second. Tech does his best in appearing relaxed and non-threatening.
The silent mutual observation lasts ten more seconds or so; then, the shallow mer makes an abrupt turn and sprints in a fast swim upwards, clearly running away. Tech can't help but feel dissapointed; but even if he's mostly sure he could catch up to her with a bit of effort -and something inside of him saddens at the thought of never seing her again-, he decides the best course of action is to let her go.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You return to the reef and give your goodbyes to Yellow in a blurred daze. Once alone, the adrenaline of your friend's dissapearance and the encounter with the deep-water mer drops down; and you feel so exhausted and drained you inmediately curl up in the safe, hidden space between the rocks you call home.
That night you go to sleep thinking on him; on how unfairly stronger and powerful he looked with his sharp claws and muscled tail. It's a fitfull dream at first; though as the night advances and the fear grows distant, other details come to light. You suddenly remember his mesmerising amber eyes; how soft his bronze skin looked, tone much darker than those of shallow mers. The colours of his tail, so different to hers; a navy blue mixed with black, with just a hint of details in faded white and cyan. The impresive width of his two tail flukes and the sharp stinger in between. He made a fine mer.
The abrupt thought rips you of your light slumber. You wake up, panting in surprise. Surely you can't find the predator that almost made you have a heart attack atractive, right? He could have killed you; you'd like to think you're a bit more intelligent than that.
But he didn't.
The tiny little thought crawls like an unexpected visitor into your mind; and then, you can't think of anything else. He could have killed you, hurt you, but he didn't. Why?
At first you thought he was going to attack you. When you first felt his dangerous clawed hand reaching for you, you had shut your eyes in terror, waiting for the inevitable doom to come. Claws and canines biting and tearing delicate skin. But nothing had happened; nothing further than a... Could you call that a caress? Was that it?
Now, away from the danger and with your head in a clearer state, you picture the encounter again in your head. You try to remember the expresion on his face; realising there was more genuine, innocent curiosity than vicious agression. And he hadn't even tried to chase you when you had swam away. Could he hold the simple gentle curiosity for you you felt for the smaller creatures you often explored in the reef? Would he... Would he not attack you if you came across each other again?
It's a dangerous thought; and when the new day starts, you can't seem to quieten it inside your head.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
A rush of electrifying excitement zig-zags through Tech's body upon identifying the creature swimming in the distance. He interacts with orcas and whales enough to know the figure is somewhat unique; at least in this depths of the ocean. He hovers in place, patiently observing. He doesn't want to scare her away like last time. What is she doing down here again?
Tech scans the dark water in search for the hipocampus. He had the impresion the shallow mer had followed the small animal here last time; perhaps the situation has repeated itself. After a quick eye-search, though, he brushes the posibility away. She came her on her own. Why? There's no reason why a shallow mer would have to swim this deep.
Tech notices the way she swims in short bursts of energy and how her eyes constantly flicker around; like she's stubbornly looking for something. If not the hipocampus, what could that something be?
It has to be him.
It's the most logical answer; and yet, some part of Tech refuses to believe it, perhaps because he doesn't want to be hurt and dissapointed if it isn't. With a mix of hope and waryness, the deep-water mer swims towards the visitor; slowly announcing his presence to her.
The shallow mer's eyes widen in surprise; just a hint of fear and caution taking a grip on her. She doesn't make any move to run away, though; instead, she floats in place and stares.
Tech resists the urge to get closer and greet her, swim around her and gently brush his tail with hers as he does with his family. He doesn't want her to flee; so he patiently waits for her to make the first step.
Almost as if understanding this, the shallow mer flicks her flutes and cautiously shortens the distance between each other. Coming to a stop in front of him, she takes a deep breath; then, a high melodious voice breaks the silence of the ocean around them. She's talking to him.
Tech's inmediate surprise must be visible in his face. Frowning, he tries to make a sense to her words; but he doesn't get the full meaning of it, just an impresion of what she's saying. Tech thinks -or wants to believe- she's greeting him.
The shallow mer sighs quietly. Observing him for a few long seconds, she makes a move forward; a trembling hand extending towards Tech's face.
He tenses; not a product of fear. She doesn't have claws like him; Tech doesn't think the shallow mer can hurt him much with her bare hands. It's more of a wary reaction. He doesn't know what she wants; and the thought of her touching him admitedly sends a sort of carefull expectation to his body. Tech has shared a few kisses here and there with a female friend from another pod of deep-water mers; but it was sort of an agreement for them both to experience the situation together, and not out of real desire or attraction. Now, this mer... Not knowing where she stands, what her intentions are, being unable to talk to her about it, makes him nervous.
Breathing heavier and without tearing his eyes from her face, he let's her be. He shivers when he feels her soft fingertips playing with his hair; closing his eyes involuntarily before watching her with surprise.
She shows him a shy smile and then repeats the gesture in her own hair; exactly like he had done the day before. It's like she's trying to tell him something with it; and Tech flushes finally comfirming she came back because she's curious about him as well.
Tech nods; and calling his courage, he repeats the gesture on her. This time she just observes; she doesn't flinch.
It's a game of reconnaissance from there. They curiously study the other, hands no longer touching in order to try to respect their space; sometimes asking for a better perspective or trying to ask questions with mimics along the way. At one point, she opens her mouth and points with her index at his teeth, tilting her head. Tech answers showing her his sharp canines, and the shiver she gives him this time is clearly a joke, paired with an entertained smile. Tech chuckles and nods. They could look scary, he supposes. The deep-water mer makes a "no, no" sign with his hands before pointing back at her; indicating a clear "i'm not going to hurt you". The open, friendly smile she gives him is blinding.
They spend almost an hour interacting with each other. When she finally points upwards, signaling her need to return to the surface, Tech feels an instant urge to keep her with him a little longer. He knows he can't, though, shouldn't; perhaps she has other things to do.
He makes a "wait" sign and -upon her nod of acceptance- quickly dives down in the ocean; tail moving powerfully in order to take him to his home as fast as possible and back.
When he returns, he's got a mix of algae and zebrafish crushed scales in his left hand. Zebrafish are an incredibly species; they can regenerate a whole fin amputation and their own heart damage. It's one of the most interesting creatures Tech has spent his time studying.
He tries to convein this to her, his voice gentle and calm while he tries to represent his explanation with his spare hand. She frowns, completely lost at first, glancing down at the mix in his hand and back at his face. Then, he tries to draw a starfish with his index, and upon poiting to the still angry wound on her side and shoulder insistently, an "oh" of understanding washes over her expression. She nods with an appreciative smile.
Tech's hovering so close to her now that he can feel her breathing pattern in front of him; the tiny change of the water movement when it passes through her gills. Tech has them at both sides of his pectorals; while her's are positioned a bit lower, towards the end of her rib cage.
He studies her wounds with critical eye, wondering what could have caused them. There's a few scratches here and there; probably produced by the drag of skin against rocks and corals. A bigger one on one of her sides above the beginning of her tail looks like a shark bite. None are deep or particularly worrying; but Tech knows they must hurt, and if he can help her, he will.
Tech swipes some of the mix in two fingers and gently presses them against the indents of the bite. The shallow mer hisses in pain, her body reflexively trying to shy away; but he makes a soothing sound with his voice and the mer looks at him, breathing through it and regaining awareness of herself. She stays patiently put while he helps her.
Heartbeat speeding inside his chest, Tech slowly dares to trace the pad of his thumb over the scratch on her cheek. He knows the minor wound needs no medicine, it's already healing on itself; but he can't keep his hands to himself. She's beautiful; expresive eyes and cute nose, colourful hair and a elegant, delicate body he wishes he could further explore.
She shivers; but the deep-water mer doesn't detect any fear from her, can't smell anything of the sort in the ocean around them. Her eyes lock with his; and even if no words are exchanged, Tech can't help but feel there's some sort of silent conversation there. Wonder, desire, caution. A longing reflected in the other mer.
The moment has stretched too long, and Tech drops his hand back to his side. He nods, signaling that his work is finished; that she's free to go now if she wants to.
The shallow mer doesn't take her eyes off of him. Tentatively, almost as if testing his boundaries, she grazes her tail with his in a gentle, thankful gesture. Tech's aware that the gesture could be considered flirting in their species; and blushes slightly.
He hears her soft chuckle. Then, she swims up and they grow apart again.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
You grow fond of him. It's easy to do so, really; once the frigthening first impression is out of the way, you can see further than that, and every small thing you discover about him apeases you more and more as weeks pass by.
The first few days are just more of those cautious, curious interactions. As you slowly get used to the others presence, you both start to grow more relaxed and playful; Tech –his name is one of the first things he teaches you– eventually inviting you for a long swim, and you happily accepting. You can't help but observe the way he moves; the power and strength in his long blue tail, mesmerised. When he catches you gawking, a tiny satisfied and knowing smirk makes it's way to his face; and though you inmediately look away, embarassed, you can't help but think it looks good on him as well.
A month after your first encounter you ask him to follow you to the surface. You know it's not ideal for him, his scales and skin too thick to cope with such warmth for long periods of time; but you know he'll be okay for a couple of hours, just like you are able to cope with the depths of his comfort zone. Tech nods curiously and explores with you every inch of the reef just like a kid. It's him who stares at you enthraced this time; marvelling at the way the sunlight flickers off of your iridiscent scales, at how shiny and bright the greens become. When you glance at him in confusion as to why he had stopped, wondering if he felt tired, he stares straight at your eyes and whispers one of the few words he has learned in your language.
"Pretty".
It makes you blush and internally swoon for him. You answer with a radiant smile and quickly peck his cheek before swimming away. Tech looks at you in surprise before moving to catch up with you. He affectionately rubs his body against yours as he does and passes by.
He takes you to meet his pod. You're not going to lie, the first fears and doubts about Tech resurface with the intimidating group of deep-water mers; your instinct screaming at you at the obvious disadvantage, at the danger, encouraging you to run away. But Tech –sweet, intelligent Tech– inmediately notices it; and reassures you by constantly standing by your side and giving soft caresses to your hands and back. It helps that his family is openly friendly and accepting; with the exception of Crosshair. Tech brushes his reaction aside, telling you it's normal of him to behave like that. You hope you will grow on him with time.
The way they live, play and hunt is a spectacle to see and experience. Tech tries to give you a thorough explanation on why and how deep-water mers had had to learn and adapt like that; though with the small bunch of words he has managed to learn by now and his irrepresible excitement it's hard to follow him. Tech's patient, though, and you're curious; so with a bit of effort, you both make it work.
After his quiet, surprisingly normal and easy inclusion to his family, you take him to meet Yellow. You point at the small sea horse and tell him two words –"Friend. Pod"–; Tech's amber eyes filling with some sort of melancholic understanding before he's fiercely hugging you towards him. You tremble in his arms and press your forehead against the side of his neck, breathing him in; you haven't had this kind of contact in so long –it has been years since you last came across one of yours–, and it feels so devastatingly comforting you fear you'll grow addicted to it.
Your heart clenches when you see him interacting with Yellow. He's so big, and your friend so tiny; it's an adorable sight, and the way the seahorse quickly warms up to him and the mer gently treats him is simply adorable. With a fond smile on your face, you realise you're starting to fall in love with him.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
One of those nights when Tech can't help but feel alone, even with the knowledge that his pod is sleeping not far away from him, the deep-water mer follows his heart and thoughts and swims upwards towards the sky; towards where the stars seem to fall into the ocean. He knows his way around the reef by now; and with his speed, he's soon carefully peeking his head into the circle of rocks you sleep in and call home. You're curled up in yourself; arms crossed hugging your stomach. You look so small and vulnerable it tugs at the strings of his heart; and Tech carefully swims into your space and lays by your side.
The carefully brush of a tail against yours wakes you up; your gasp quickly growing silent when you realise it's Tech besides you. You look at him in surprise, quietly questioning him; and he answers in small melodious words in your mother tongue.
"Alone" he points at her, then at himself. "Worry. Miss".
You sigh and eliminate the tiny distance between your bodies, melting onto him.
"Miss you too" you whisper against his neck, tightening your embrace.
Tech hums happily and curls his tail around yours, softly caressing your hair. After a few minutes of memorising his embrace, when you stop hiding in his neck and glance up at him, he gently holds your chin in his grasp; amber eyes shinning with an unusual intensity.
"Love" he whispers delicately in front of your lips.
Your breathing hitches. Is he really telling you...?
Tech kisses you; a soft, reverent press of lips on lips that brands your soul with his name. It draws a sleepy, content sigh from you; and you answer him dreamily.
"I love you too, Tech".
You've finally found your mer.
THE END.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Legend of the Golden Angel
Chapter 1
Ao3 Version
Next
Masterpost
The five kingdoms of Ninjago, The Flaming Peaks Islands, The Keepers Isle, Shintaro, Arendelle, and Ouroboros, have lived in peace for many hundreds of years.
But with the Overlord in possession of the God of Destruction, that peace will only be held with the help of the prophesied Golden Angel...
who happens to be a teen with no interest in saving the world.
An old man with a long, flowing white beard, a warm, sun-kissed brown complexion, and strangely intricate vitiligo swirls and spots on his face stepped off a boat.
"100!" a man called out as he gave him a bracelet with the number on it, "The rest of you will have to wait!" There was a chorus of disappointed sighs and groans that resonated from the people still aboard the ship. The old man chuckled as he read the sign hanging from a pole on the dock.
"Welcome to Ignacia, The Flaming Peaks Islands!"
His gaze reached up to the smoking mountain top in the distance. The scent of sea food and palm trees wafted his way as he walked through the market place were local merchants announced their wares with great pride. He dearly wished to stop when he spotted a booth selling octopus kebabs, but knew he didn't have time. His path was set towards the palace that sat about half way up the volcano.
~~~~~~~~~
Nya nearly stumbled down the stairs leading to the forge, her shark-like tail grazing the walls with every step. It was so dark, how did Kai see where he was going? As she descended on the last step, a rush of sensation hit her in the face. Hot air blew her hair around her face, and a rhythmic bang, bang, bang made her want to cover her ears. Nya felt like her gills were going to dry out. How did Kai stand it down here?
She saw him in the far corner of the forge, bent over whatever he was working on. Sweat ran down the side of his face, and the orange-red glow of the fires made the scar on his right eye stand out. She approached him.
"Kai?" she asked tentatively. He wasn't always in a good mood when he came down here. When he glanced at her she could tell he was in a foul one today.
"What?" he replied sharply. He turned towards her and knocked over a rack of weapons with his shark-like tail. "Argh," he grunted as he bent over to pick them up. Nya wet a clean cloth in the bucket of water that sat in the corner.
"It's so hot down here. You need to be more careful, you're gonna dry out your gills one of these days," she chided as she wrapped the cloth around his neck. Kai huffed as he finished picking up the weapons and sat down on his stool.
Nya picked up the sword he had been working on. It was a spiral, like turtle nests in the sand. She chuckled. "Looks like you were too hasty again."
Kai's frustrated expression softened into a small smile. "You're probably right." He wiped his hands on a cloth that was just as sooty as they were, doing next to nothing to remove the grime of the forge. "What did you want?"
"I just wanted to let you know that I'm leaving for the Diplomat's Meeting in the Isles," she explained, "And there's an old man up in the courtyard who wants to speak with you. Krux keeps giving him the evil eye."
"I'll go talk to him," he put the bent sword away and started heading towards the stairs, "Let's go, sis."
~~~~~~~~~
As Kai rounded the corner into the courtyard, the lovely scent of na'u and pikake greeting his sense. The gardens we're all lush and full of life at this time of year.
It wasn't hard to spot the old man Nya had mentioned. He was short, sure, but it was hard to miss his long, white beard, conical kasa, and long robes. He stood like someone who knew he was important, but his kind eyes threw off any feeling of inferiority one might have felt in his presence.
Nya was right, Krux was standing at the other end of the courtyard, giving the little old man the evil eye. Kai approached him.
"Hello. Forgive my appearance, I've just come up from the forge," Kai greeted the old man as he tried to wipe some of the soot from his apron, "I understand you wanted to speak with me?"
"Greetings, young Prince Kai. It is an honor to meet you," the man bowed politely, "I am Wu, and I have much to discuss with you and your sister if you have time." Nya came up to them from the doorway where she had been standing when he mentioned her.
"I have to leave for a diplomatic meeting soon," she explained, "but I have about an hour before I need to be at the dock." She looked at Kai. This man was someone important, Kai could tell. He supposed whatever Wu needed to say could be discussed over tea.
"Follow me," Kai said.
~~~~~~~~~
A servant poured some tea into each of their cups, and Wu took a long sip of his. Kai had cleaned up a bit, his face was no longer smudged, and he had changed into his apricot colored robe with the red and gold embellishments. His benkan sat proudly upon his slicked back hair.
"So, Wu, what did you want to talk about?" Nya asked as she took a sip of her tea. She was dressed in a loose light blue kimono well suited for the summer sun. Her straight, jet black hair fell nearly to her waist.
"I run a… self-discovery retreat of sorts. For future world leaders and elemental masters," he explained, "I was wondering if Prince Kai would like to attend, seeing as his 25th birthday is coming up… next month, is it?" Kai and Nya glanced at each other. A self-discovery retreat? It sounded strange, and they hadn't heard anything about it. Kai was about to decline his offer when he was interrupted. "Your parents attended."
This stopped Kai in his tracks. Their parents had attended this retreat? That changed things…. It seemed like only a few years ago his parents had gone missing. Krux insisted that they had died in the shipwreck, but his mom was a Merlopian, she couldn't drown, and Krux hadn't seen the letter his dad had left him, asking him to watch over Nya.
"Allow me to discuss this offer with my sister," Kai said as he stood from his seat and Nya followed suit. He led Nya out of earshot of Wu.
"Do you think this is a good idea, Kai?" Nya asked him in a hushed voice, "This guy shows up out of nowhere asking you to come with him, and tells us he knew our parents? Seems suspicious to me…"
"You're right… but if he has answers about Mom and Dad…" he looked back at Wu, who smiled and waved before taking another sip of his tea. Nya studied Kai for a moment, and he could see the second she decided he was going to this, with or without her approval.
"Fine. But I'm coming with you."
"You can't. You have that Diplomat's Meeting you have to attend," Kai shook his head. Nya sighed.
"You're right... then I'll just meet you there afterwards." Now it was Kai's turn to see that Nya wasn't going to change her mind. They nodded in agreement and walked back to where Wu was still sitting.
"Have you come to a decision?" Wu asked as he rose from his seat.
"I will come with you, and Nya will join us after her meeting," Kai explained as Nya nodded.
"Wonderful! I will be waiting at the dock tomorrow morning at 7 o'clock. I am so glad you have decided to attend," with that, Wu left the siblings.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Kai..." Nya sighed.
Prompt 9: Interpret (through this blog) the most amazing thing you know about nature – get us excited. This is your blog – your audience isn’t out in the field with you so bring the field to your armchair reader.
Our textbook states that one of the challenges interpreters face is capturing and maintaining the audience’s attention (Beck et al., 2018, p. 166). Later, it also highlights that one of the most effective ways to engage large audiences is through storytelling (Beck et al., 2018, p. 222). So, let me tell you a story.
Imagine it’s a quiet Tuesday morning. You’re at the bank, using the ATM before heading to work. The bank hasn’t even opened yet, and you’re the only person there. Suddenly, you hear a noise—a rustling sound from inside. Then, a loud crash! You glance through the window and see two masked figures. Heart pounding, you grab your phone, ready to call… animal control?
As it turns out, these robbers weren’t after money. They were after a tin of almond cookies! That’s because they weren’t people at all—they were raccoons! (I’ve linked two news articles below in case you need proof!) This story is one of my favorites because it challenges the idea that raccoons are just unintelligent pests. In reality, they’re incredibly resourceful problem-solvers, capable of navigating complex situations—like breaking into a bank for a snack.
Raccoons aren’t the only animals that demonstrate remarkable intelligence. One of the most fascinating examples in nature comes from the octopus. Often called escape artists, these cephalopods have stunned aquarium staff worldwide with their ability to sneak out of enclosures, open jars, and even steal food from neighboring tanks (Hunt, 2017). Some have learned to turn off lights and short-circuit power supplies, while others have demonstrated the ability to solve intricate puzzles when properly motivated (Hunt, 2017). If you have a few minutes, I highly recommend watching this video by YouTuber Mark Rober, where an octopus solves a complex underwater puzzle! (Bonus: He has other great videos showcasing animal intelligence, like obstacle courses for squirrels and testing a highly intelligent crow.)
youtube
What amazes me most about nature is how intelligence isn’t limited to just humans. A wide variety of animals, from primates to birds to invertebrates, have demonstrated cognitive abilities that challenge traditional views of intelligence (Bitterman, 1965). What’s even more fascinating is that, like humans, different species have different learning styles (Bitterman, 1965). But why has intelligence evolved in so many species? The answer lies in survival. Problem-solving skills help animals find food, avoid predators, and adapt to changing environments—giving them a distinct evolutionary advantage (Bitterman, 1965). Intelligence isn’t just a human trait; it’s a key part of life across the animal kingdom.
Have you ever witnessed an animal doing something unexpectedly smart? Maybe your pet learned a behavior you never intended to teach them, or you encountered a wild animal that seemed to know exactly what it was doing. Or perhaps you’ve just heard an incredible story about animal intelligence. I’d love to hear about it—share your experiences in the replies!
If the Disney characters actually got to be important in Kingdom Hearts: Part 2
Hey there folks! I'm back again with a continuation of my previous post "If the Disney characters actually got to be important in Kingdom Hearts: Part 1"
If you want to check that out first, here's the link to it below.
For this second part, we'll be focusing on Kingdom Hearts II given that it's a much bigger game than the previous two and I have a little more to talk about for this one.
All the elements I mentioned in the previous post for the versions of KH1 and Chain of Memories apply here as well and while story is mostly the same, there will be some notable changes.
So with that being said, let's get this started!
Note: So I actually just found out that Wendy wasn't one of the Princesses of Heart. So I guess in this AU, Peter would be just tagging along for vibes like Tarzan and Jack.
I also forgot to mention the looks of Abu, Zero and Tinker Bell in the last post, who would all be obviously accompanying the heroes on their journey.
As for what they would look like.
In Wonderland, they would be wearing Victorian attire.
In Olympus Coliseum, Abu would be a weasel, Zero would be a ghostly Molossian hound, and Tinker Bell would be a nymph.
In Deep Jungle; Abu would be a patas monkey, Zero would be a ghostly Basenji dog, and Tinker Bell would be an Aziza (which were a race of fairies from West African folklore).
In Agrabah; Zero would be a ghostly Canaan dog and Tinker Bell would be a mini Parī (a supernatural enitiy from Persian folklore that's pretty similar to a fairy).
In Halloween Town, Abu would be a golden Shiva monkey statue and Tinker Bell would be a ghost like Peter.
In Atlantica; Abu would an octopus, Zero would a ghostly sea lion, and Tinker Bell would like a mini mer-fairy of sorts.
And in Neverland, Abu would pretty much be the same except naked and Zero would also be the same as well.
The Mysterious Tower:
For our second world, we see our first real major story change.
Upon arriving to The Mysterious Tower, our trio are not only greeted by Yen Sid, but also an old friend.
And who's that friend you may ask?
youtube
Yep! Tarzan is back!
Through Yen Sid, we find out that the trio's Disney friends have been frequently checking in with Yen Sid over the past year to see if they've returned yet.
I think this little reveal would really help show just how strong the friendship between these guys are in this version of the series.
And with that reveal, you can already expect Tarzan being over-joyed seeing his friends again after a whole year.
As you probably could tell by now, Tarzan will be joining the trio on their new adventure.
As for how he fights, he'll still be fighting with his trusty spear, slashing and wacking enemies with it.
Though similar to Aladdin, he's depicted as being more faster and agile in his fighting style than in the first game.
Plus he can use jungle herbs to perform Cure like in KH1.
Tarzan's Limit would be Jungle Fury.
The Limit would start with Lasso, where Tarzan pulls out a vine and lassoes it to something above. Then he grabs Sora and the two start swinging together.
The next part would be Swing Sync, which has Sora and Tarzan attacking enemies with kicks while swinging around.
The final part would be Simian Slam, which has Sora and Tarzan jumping from the vine and landing on the ground, delivering a powerful shockwave by slamming it with their Keyblade and spear respectively.
He'll also be sporting a new look too!
Tarzan's new outfit would be pulled right from this piece of fanart done by DNLnamek01.
Back in the 2007, the dude did a series of fanart depicting various Disney characters (some already in Kingdom Hearts and others not yet) as Keyblade Wielders, complete with outfits similar to the original characters of Kingdom Hearts and the iconic Disney trio.
I really loved the looks he gave to the Disney characters and can I honestly imagine this is what they would look like if the series was allowed to go all-out with them.
Anyway, but before our trio meet up with their old friend, they run into an enemy....two in fact.
These enemies being Pete (of course) and, believe or not, Clayton.
Yeah! Clayton is back!
As for how, this is where things get interested.
Essentially, between KH I and II, Pete found that the power of the Heartless can be used to bring people back from the dead.
One of his earliest attempts with this newfound trick was in Deep Jungle, where he ended up reviving Clayton.
But not only that, but this revival essentially changed Clayton as well.
As it turns out, Heartless resurrection can actually turn those that it was used on into half-Heartless beings.
Not only that, but they also get new powers and abilities (often relating something about the individual before they died).
As for Clayton, his hunting skills have been enhanced to incredible levels.
This is largely thanks to him now possessing superhuman physicality (strength, speed and endurance) and his senses begin akin to that of an animal.
He also fights with a pair of machetes and several bolas.
This is what he looks like now.
I can't figure out who did this drawing, but I really like how Clayton looks here.
If Clayton was turned into a more powerful and deadly version of himself, this is exactly how I'd imagine him looking.
You can also tell that his outfit not only greatly emphasize his status as a hunter, but also draws heavy inspiration from Kraven the Hunter.
Essentially, Pete and Clayton's plan is to reform the Council of Disney Villains, by resurrecting the original members (who are all dead.....except for Hades) and by recruiting new members (like Clayton).
And with how Clayton turned out, the duo figured that the Council would be even more powerful than before.
And by working together just like in the last game, no one would be able to beat them this time!
Yeah, this sounds pretty insane.
But let's be real, this Kingdom Hearts! It's basically the Regular Show of video games!
They're both convoluted, overly-ridiculous insanity....and that's why people love them so much.
And besides, you can't tell me this concept doesn't sound remotely cool.
And also, Pete and Clayton would definitely make a really fun duo.
Pete being his usual bumbling self and Clayton being the straight man through all this.
Radiant Garden:
Nothing really to note about this world, except that there would be few more characters than initially featured.
Most notably Archimedes (returning from this AU's KH I) and Arthur (also from The Sword in the Stone).
Speaking of Arthur, this game takes place after the events of the film, so he's already the king of England.
But despite that, Merlin still tutors Arthur and is helping learn how to be a good king.
Arthur has also befriended the rest of the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee.
The most notable being Yuffie and Leon.
I'd imagine that Yuffie would see Arthur like a little brother (often teasing him) and Leon's been training Arthur in the way of the sword so he can one day wield Excalibur like a true king.
And although they're already in the original game, in this version; Huey, Dewey and Louie would be presented as new proteges under the tutelage of Merlin, as they want to follow in Donald's footsteps and become mages.
Also, we'd actually get to see Donald interacting with his nephews for once!
The Land of Dragons:
Layout-wise, this world is largely the same as in the original.
And in terms of characters, we would see the addition of Cri-Kee and Chi-Fu, the emperor's bitch-ass advisor.
As for NPCs, we would see more soldiers of Li Shang's army, civilians in the Imperial Square, and even some animals including pandas, golden pheasants, water deers, red pandas, golden snub-nosed monkeys, crested ibises, takins, bats and giant salamanders.
As for world-specific enemies, it would be the soldiers of The Hun Army.
As for the character looks, excluding Mulan obviously...
Sora, Tarzan, Aladdin and Ariel would be wearing ancient Chinese civilian clothing.
Abu would be a snub-nosed monkey.
Zero would a ghostly Chow Chow dog.
Beast would be a xiezhi, which is a creature of a Chinese mythology.
(if you want to know more about it, Google is your friend)
Jack Sparrow would be dressed as like a ancient Chinese bandit, something along the lines of Heishan Bandits.
Donald and Jack Skellington would be dressed as wus, which were what shamans were known as back in ancient China.
Simba would be a tiger.
Goofy and Max would be dressed like ancient Chinese soldiers, not much different from Shang and his army
And Tron would be a living terracotta statue.
As for the story, it's largely the same as in the original game....until the second visit.
The story for the second visit would also be about Pete, Clayton and the newly-revived Maleficent resurrecting Shan Yu and recruiting into the Council
Speaking of Maleficent, now being a half-Heartless, she can now naturally manipulate magic without the use of her staff, making her even more powerful than before.
She can also morph parts of her body in dragon form, and when in her dragon form, can emit powerful fire and lightning from her body.
As for her new appearance, she would look something like this....
As for their looks in this world....
Maleficent would be dressed as a wu, Pete would be dressed as a bandit like Sparrow, and Clayton would be dressed as an archer.
But going back to Shan Yu, in addition to now possessing superhuman strength and endurance, has the ability to duplicate himself, essentially making him a literal one-man army!
As for his new look....
But other than that, the story does largely play out the same (with addition of Shan Yu aiding Storm Rider) and ends with Mulan and Mushu joining our heroes to stop The Organization and The Council of Villains.
Beast's Castle:
Layout-wise, this world is largely the same.
The same can be said for the characters as well....with one exception, which we'll get to soon.
As for the character looks, minus Beast of course....
Sora, Donald, Goofy, Tarzan, Mulan, Max, Sparrow, Ariel, Aladdin and Skellington would be wearing 18th century French attire.
Abu would be a polecat.
Zero would a ghostly poodle.
Simba would be a lynx.
Mushu would still be a dragon, but would obviously have a more Western look.
And Tron would be a living bronze statue.
As for the story, it's mostly the same but with one key exception.
Xaldin wouldn't be the villain of this world, at least for the first visit.
Instead, his role would be given to....
youtube
Yep! Gaston would actually be present in this world like he was suppose to!
Oh yeah. For those who don't know, Gaston was originally intended to be in KH2 but was replaced with Xaldin.
This was because Richard White (Gaston's voice actor) wasn't available at the time.
Basically, he'll be doing the exact same thing Xaldin does during the first visit.
As for why. Essentially, he's doing it for The Organization, who told him that by making Beast look bad, Belle would end up falling for him instead.
But Gaston will meet his temporary demise after Shadow Stalker is defeated, who causes a chandelier to land on him.
For the second visit, Xaldin does step in and the story largely plays out the same.
Though he would be accompanied by Gaston.
Speaking of Gaston, he would be resurrected by The Council of Villains (who would all be wearing 18th century French attire, with Hayabusa being a kite).
As for his new look....
And in terms of what he can do, he's pretty much like Clayton, with his physicality being enhanced to superhuman levels and his hunting prowess being stronger than ever before.
He also fights with his makeshift club from the film and whole lot of throwing knives.
In the boss fight against him and Xaldin, Gaston is fast and powerful, attacking with punches, kicks, charges, club swings, slams and knife throws.
However, he does have one trick up his sleeve that differentiates him from Clayton.
When enraged enough, he's able to transform into a powerful Heartless beast.
This beast would be none other than Enraged Elk from Kingdom Hearts X.
You'll be fighting this form after you defeat Xaldin.
As for what it came do, it fights the same way Gaston does, but its attacks are far stronger and do more damage.
After defeating him, Gaston is whisked away in a cloud of darkness by the other Villains.
And so, our story here ends with Beast joining our heroes to ensure that The Organization, The Villains, or Gaston never dare to come to his castle ever again.
Olympus Coliseum:
Not a whole lot to say for this world.
It's essentially the same both layout, character, and story-wise.
The only difference would be that Pain and Panic would actually talk and interact with the other characters.
Also, there would a sub-plot about The Villains trying to recruit Hades back into their group, which he was no interest in.
As for the characters looks....
We already know what Sora, Donald, Goofy, Tarzan, Aladdin, Abu, Ariel, Skellington, Zero and Beast look like in this world.
Mulan and Max would be in Greek soldier attire like Goofy.
Sparrow would be dressed like the pirates commonly found on the ancient Mediterranean.
Tron would be a living marble statue.
And Simba....would actually be the same as he usually is.
Disney Castle and Timeless River:
Not a whole lot to say for these worlds either.
They're the same in just about every way.
But there is one major difference.
You'll have a party member originating from the former world.
You all probably noticed that I frequently someone by the name of Max in this post.
And that's because Max Goof himself would actually be appearing in this version of the series and he'll be the party member joining you in Disney Castle.
This is what he'll look like....
As for how he fights...
That was always a tricky thing to come up with.
I want him to be somewhat similar to his father's fighting style, but not an exact copy.
So essentially Max will be fighting with a sword and shield.
He'll slash at enemies with his sword, and bashing and hit them from afar with his shield.
He'll also slide on his shield like Goofy, but he'll be doing fighting tricks while doing so.
Max's Limit would be Daredevil.
The Limit would start with Alley Oop, where Sora hops on Max's shield and he pushes it, causing it to start sliding all over the place, with Max immediately jumping on right after.
The next part would Daring Duel, where he and Sora repeatedly deliver slashing whirlwinds with their sword and Keyblade respectively at enemies they slide towards.
The final part would be Bombardment, where the duo launch themselves into the air, and Sora then grabs Max, spin him around, and throw him to the ground below, unleashing a mighty shockwave in the process.
As for Max's status in the KH universe, he's one of the Royal Knights.
Yeah, it's pretty easy to forgot that Goofy is canonically the Captain of the Royal Knights of Disney Castle.
That's probably because we have yet to even see them.
So I figured in this version of series, since they can go all out on the crossover aspect, the Royal Knights would actually appear.
Characterization-wise, Max is what you would expect from him.
But there is one unique trait about him.
While he can get a little embarrassed by him, Max actually looks up to his dad and wants to follow in footsteps.
That's a trait rarely seen in most other iterations of the character.
As for his age, Max would be a teenager, about a year younger than Sora.
But during the story of Disney Castle, we'll also meet a few other members of the Royal Knights include Max's buddies PJ and Bobby, and his girlfriend Roxanne.
They would help our heroes with defending the Cornerstone from Maleficent and Pete, who would be accompanied by Clayton, Shan Yu and Gaston this time.
Also, there would a gag where when Pete and PJ run into each other, they have this sense of deja vu, as if they know each other from somewhere.
You know that scene from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia where after finding out that Frank's one-night stand from 30 years ago was with his mom, Charlie slowly realizes that Frank could possibly be his real father.
Yeah it would be like that.
As for the character looks...
In Disney Castle, everyone pretty much looks the same as usually do.
But in Timeless River, as you would already expect, everyone would look like they right out of a classic black-and-white cartoon from the 1930s.
Though in the case of Mulan and Aladdin, without the racist caricatures.
Plus, you can't tell them you wouldn't kill to see Max in the classic Disney shorts style.
I swear he'd look like a Mini-Me of Goofy....more so than he already does.
Atlantica:
Now we've come to undoubtedly the most infamous world in the game.
KH2's Atlantica is generally regarded as one of the worst worlds in the entire series.
This is largely because in contrast to the other worlds, you don't get to really explore the world itself of fight any enemies.
Instead, you stuck playing a dancing game for the entire time.
Which wouldn't be all that bad if it was all the world was.
But for this AU, Atlantica would be receiving a major overhaul.
First off, let's talk about the layout of the world.
The world would be split into two regions.
The first region is Atlantica itself, which consists of all the areas seen in the first game.
The second region is Eric's Kingdom, which would include the areas such as The Castle, The Beach, The Marketplace, The Town Square, The Countryside, The Lagoon and The Wedding Ship.
In terms of characters, we would see the addition of all six of Ariel's sisters, Grimsby, and Max.
As for NPCs and world-specific enemies, it's essentially the same as it was in the first game.
But in Eric's Kingdom, you can expect to see a lot of civilians walking about and a couple of animals such as ducks, flamingos, cranes, pelicans, swallows, crickets, frogs, and fireflies.
For the characters looks, similar to what Halloween Town does in this game, the characters will receive two different looks in this world (one while in Atlantica, one while in Eric's Kingdom).
For Atlantica; we already know how Sora, Donald, Goofy, Tarzan, Aladdin, Abu, Skellington, Zero and Beast would look like.
But for the others:
Mulan would be a mermaid.
Mushu would be a tiny sea serpent.
Max would be a sea turtle like his dad.
Sparrow would be a joining Skellington as a skeletal pirate.
Simba would be joining Beast as a sea lion.
And Tron would be a living figurehead (those wooden mast carvings you commonly see on ships).
As for their looks in Eric's Kingdom:
Just about everyone would be wearing sailor attire commonly found during the 19th century.
Sparrow and Skellington would be still rocking the pirate look.
Abu would be a polecat again.
Mushu would be a snake.
Beast would be a brown bear.
Simba would be a lynx again.
And Tron would still be a figurehead.
As for the story, it's essentially the same as in the original game, but split in half, since just like all the other worlds, this one will have two visits.
The first visit is would see our heroes helping out Ariel. Just like in the original game and in her film, she desires to see the surface world, which has frequently brought her into conflict with King Triton.
But recently, Ariel discovered a magic recipe that can actually turn her into a human.
And so, our heroes find themselves on a scavenger hunt across Atlantica to the find the ingredients for this potion.
Speaking of Ariel, as you probably guess from how often I mentioned her in this post, she'll actually be a party member this time.
Just like in the first game, she's a mage party member, primarily attacking enemies with magic.
Just like with Donald, her magic has been juiced up.
She can use special potions are able to cast Fire (while on land), Blizzard, Thunder and Cure.
But when she runs out of MP, she'll attack enemies with spins, tail swipes (both only underwater) shoulder bag swings (while on land) that go in every kind of direction you can think of. Downward while in mid-air, uppercut, spiral, etc.
Her Limit is Raging Water (which she can only do on land and in the other worlds).
The Limit starts with Tidal Wave, where Ariel throws down a potion on the ground, which causes a massive wave to form beneath her and Sora.
The next part would be Waverider, which the duo ride on the wave, knocking down any enemies in their way.
While that's going on, Sora would perform Soak Shoot, where he shoots water at enemies with his Keyblade.
And finally, the Limit would end with Ocean's Rage, where after performing a backflip of sorts, the wave crashes down and washes away all enemies across the battlefield.
But back to the story, after getting everything they need, our heroes find out that the last ingredient is voice of the person who desires to become a human.
And thus, just like the movie, Ariel gives her voice for it to work.
As you would expect, Ariel is turned into a human, our heroes rush her to the surface, and she meets Eric, who, like in the movie, takes her into his home to help her out.
And the first visit would end on a cliffhanger of sorts, as we would see The Council of Villains arriving at Ursula's Lair.
As for their looks in this world.
Maleficent, Clayton, Shan Yu and Gaston would all be merpeople.
And Pete would be.....wait for it....
youtube
A CATFISH!
youtube
Okay, moving on....
For the second visit, we see our heroes (along with Flounder and Sebastian) trying to help the currently mute Ariel and Eric get together, which isn't gonna be easy with The Heartless running around.
By the way, the dancing segments will still be in the game, but they wouldn't be taking up the whole world this time.
However, we would see the removal of the goodbye song.
Instead, taking its place, would be "Kiss the Girl".
But just as it seems like the two teens are about get together, a new girl (bitch) named Vanessa appears and has Eric completely smitten.
And after hearing that they're gonna get married, Ariel is heartbroken and our heroes are left shocked.
However, they soon find out that something suspicious is going on here.
Thanks to Donald and Mushu, our heroes find out that Eric is under a spell and assume that Vanessa is the one responsible for it.
This eventually leads to our heroes crashing the wedding and exposing Vanessa for what she did.
And after breaking Eric from his spell, Vanessa reveals her true identity as none other than Ursula, who as you expect, was revived by The Council.
As for her new look....
As for what she can do now, Ursula possesses the ability to shapeshift and she can use it in various ways. From changing her appearance to look like someone else (i.e. Vanessa), stretching her limbs (specifically her tentacles) to incredible lengths, and even being able to grow to incredible heights and sizes. And just like Maleficent, she can also naturally manipulate magic as well.
And soon enough, a boss fight erupts.
Yes, you heard me right. A boss fight.
You actually get to fight Ursula normally like the other villains in this game.
The setting for the boss is on the wrecked remains of the Wedding Ship in the middle of the ocean.
Just like in the movie, Ursula turns into a giant and uses her magic to conjure up a mighty storm.
Ursula attacks with swings from her tentacles, dark energy blasts from her hands, water sprouts she conjures up from under you, and bolts of Thunder she summons.
The coolest thing about this boss fight would be the ways you can attack Ursula.
You can attack her gut from the shipwreck.
Climb up her body and attack her ugly face.
And even head into the water below (going into your underwater form in the process), tie up her tentacles with a command, and attack them while their tied.
Anyway, after you defeat Ursula (with Eric stepping in to deliver the final blow), she's whisked away via a dark cloud by the Villains.
And so, our story ends with Ariel and Eric confirming their love for each other and Ariel joining our heroes for some payback.
Port Royal:
Layout-wise, this world is largely the same.
As for characters, we would see the addition of Gibbs, Anamaria, Governor Weatherby Swann, Cotton, and Pintel and Ragetti.
As for NPCs, we would see plenty of civilians walking about Port Royal and a few tropical birds flying about.
As for world-specific enemies, we would have a lot more undead pirates.
As for the character looks, minus Sparrow....
Sora, Donald and Goofy would be receiving the looks they got in The Caribbean about 14 years earlier in this AU.
Just about all other non-animal members of the team would be wearing pirate attire as well.
Zero would pretty much be the same as he usually is.
Abu would be a capuchin monkey.
Mushu would still be a tiny sea serpent.
Beast would a giant howler monkey.
Simba would be a jaguar.
And Tron would still be a figurehead.
As for the story, it's largely the same until we get to the second visit.
After Barbossa died, he was revived by the Villains (who all be wearing pirate attire in this world) and decides to work with Luxord.
As for his new looks....he would be rocking the skeleton look that he had when he was under The Curse of the Aztec Gold.
As for what he can do now, just like when he was cursed, Barbossa is a skeleton that's nearly invulnerable.
But that's not all.
He can also control people by manipulating the blood in their bodies and create constructs out of blood.
Yeah, I made Barbossa into a fucking bloodbender!
Anyway, you would fight this Barbossa along Grim Reaper.
He would definitely be one of the harder bosses of the game, since he would be able to pick you up and throw you around.
He'll also attack with a blood cutlass, blood throwing knives, and blood cannons.
But anyway, after you defeat Barbossa, like the other villains, he'll be whisked away in a dark cloud and Jack decides to join our heroes to settle the score with him once and for all.
Agrabah:
Layout-wise, there a few changes.
The world would be split into four regions.
The first region is Agrabah itself, which would consist of the areas seen in the first game.
The second region is The Palace, which consists of the areas from the first game as well
The third region is The Cave of Wonders, which consists of the areas seen in the OG KH2.
And the fourth region is The Desert, which consists of The Sandswept Ruins and Ruined Chamber, and a few more areas such as The Oasis and The Canyon.
As for characters, it brings back the same roster from the first game.
As for NPCs, we have the same selection from the first game as well, with the addition of a few more animals like elephants and falcons.
As for world-specific enemies, it would include the same batch from the first game, with the new addition of bandits, vultures and jackals.
As for the character looks, except Aladdin and Abu....
We already know what Sora, Donald, Goofy, Tarzan, Ariel, Skellington, Zero and Beast are gonna look like.
But for the others:
Mulan and Max would be dressed as royal guards like Goofy.
Mushu would be a viper.
Sparrow would be dressed like an Arabian desert bandit.
Tron would a living golden Shiva statue.
And Simba....would pretty much look the same as he usually does.
As for the story, it's largely the same but with some notable alternations.
During the first visit, The Council of Villains would all be there to retrieve Jafar's lamp so they can free him.
As for their looks, they would all be wearing villainous Arabic attire.
Maleficent and Ursula would be dressed like viziers similar to Jafar.
And the rest would be dressed like bandits.
Anyway, in contrast to the original game, Jafar actually does get released from his lamp and you get to fight him during your first visit.
The boss fight is largely the same as it was in the original game, but with a few differences.
-You'll be accompanied by Aladdin and a party member of your choice for this fight, riding alongside you on The Magic Carpet.
-The Palace would have two massive pits full of elemental substances on each side. One being full of lava, and the other being full of icy water that'll freeze anything that comes even within an inch of it.
-Jafar will also attack with Blizzaga.
After you defeat Jafar, Iago grabs Jafar's lamp and throws it into the lava pit, killing him in the process.
And the story ends with The Council of Villains secretly reviving Jafar.
For the second visit, Aladdin and his pals have become a bit paranoid as they've been seeing Jafar popping up in random places despite being dead.
Soon enough, they get the word from Iago, The Sultan and Razoul that Jasmine has been kidnapped.
All the kidnapper left was a note saying that she's being held captive at The Sandswept Ruins.
This would led our heroes on a treacherous trek through The Desert and its areas.
Once they reach the Ruins, they find Jasmine, who reveals that she was kidnapped by Jafar.
As for his new look....
As for what he can do now, just like Maleficent and Ursula, Jafar can naturally manipulate magic.
He primarily specializes in casting illusions and tricks, and also special element breaths as well.
Anyway, Jafar eventually reveals himself to our heroes and reveals that he kidnapped Jasmine in order to lure them all here so can have his revenge.
This would led to another boss fight against Jafar.
But in contrast to the first one, this one has you fight him in his giant cobra form!
He attacks with bites, charges, tail swipes, and even coil squeezes.
He also has a free tricks up his sleeves as well.
These include his elemental breaths (which come in Firaga, Blizzaga and Thundaga), slamming the ground and causing waves of pierce out of the ground, and even duplicating himself.
After defeating Jafar, you all know the drill by know.
Jafar is whisked away by the Villains and Aladdin joins our heroes for another adventure to stop him for good.
Halloween Town/Christmas Town:
Layout-wise, this world is largely the same.
As for characters, the selection is also the same as well.
As for NPCs, also the same....for Halloween Town at least.
In Christmas Town, we would some elves, reindeer and snowmen walking about.
As for world-specific enemies, same as the first game.
Now for the looks of our heroes, minus Skellington and Zero obviously.....
We already now what Sora, Donald and Goofy were gonna look like in both regions.
For the characters who have already been to Halloween Town:
Tarzan would be a yeti.
Aladdin would be an elf.
Abu would be one of those cymbal-banging toy monkeys.
Ariel would be a ballerina.
And Beast would be a polar bear.
As for the others:
Mulan would a be ghost in HT, and a toy soldier in CT.
Mushu would still be a dragon in HT, and a stuffed toy dragon in CT.
Max would be a Frankenstein's monster and a reindeer like his dad.
Jack would be a skeletal pirate in HT, and an living iceman ala Jack Frost of sorts in CT.
Simba would be a zombified lion in HT, and a stuffed toy lion in CT.
And Tron would be a robotic monstrosity in HT, and a nutcracker in CT.
As for the story, it's largely the same except during the first visit.
Since the first visit is centered on Oogie Boogie being revived, he'll be getting his new look right away.
Speaking of that new look, this is what he looks like...
(Yeah I know this was a redesign of his design from Disney Mirrorverse, but I think it could work for this universe as well)
As for what he can do now, he primarily moves around on what could be best described as a roulette wheel with spider legs.
In addition to using that to attack his enemies, he also a variety of gambling-themed weapons. This includes explosive dice, sharp poker cards that operate like throwing knives, and a roulette wheel launcher.
As for his boss fight, he attacks you with all those weapons.
On a unrelated note real quick, for the looks of The Council, they would actually look largely the same since their new looks do perfectly fit into the spooky theming of Halloween Town.
Once he's defeated, you know the deal.
But despite that, Oogie does still play a part in the second visit, as he's the one who sends Lock, Shock and Barrel to steal Jack's presents and The Experiment, the latter of which he pilots himself during the boss fight.
After defeating him again, he retreats back to the Council and Skellington decides to join our heroes to ensure he doesn't ruin anymore holidays.
Pride Lands:
Layout-wise, largely the same.
As for character selection, we would see the addition of Zazu.
In terms of NPCs, we would have a few more lions and lionesses walking about at Pride Rock.
As for world-specific enemies, we would have hyenas.
As for the character looks, except Simba....
We already know what Sora, Donald and Goofy are gonna look like.
Tarzan would be a gorilla.
Aladdin would be a mongoose.
Abu would be a vervet monkey.
Ariel would be a crocodile.
Skellington would be a giraffe.
Zero would be a ghostly wild dog.
Beast would be a huge lion.
Mulan would be a monitor lizard.
Mushu would be a gecko.
Max would be a tortoise like his dad.
Sparrow would be a jackal.
And Tron would be a chimpanzee.
As for The Council.....
We already know what Pete's gonna look like.
Maleficent would be a giant monitor lizard.
Clayton would be a leopard.
Shan Yu would be a rhinoceros
Gaston would be a cape buffalo.
Barbossa would be a vulture.
Ursula would be a hippopotamus.
Jafar would be a big cobra.
And Oogie would be an elephant.
As for the story, it's largely the same until we get to the second visit.
Near the end of the story, Scar's ghost (who was awakened by The Council earlier) finally resurrects himself!
As for his new looks.....
As for what he can do now.
In addition to being much stronger and faster than the average lion, Scar also possesses control over the very earth beneath his feet. He's also able to manipulate fire as well, which when mixed with his earth control, enables him to control lava.
You'll be fighting this new Scar alongside Groundshaker.
He attacks with claw slashes, bites, fire-shooting roars, brief earthquakes that can temporarily stun our heroes, and lava spouts that shoot out of the ground.
After you beat him, just like with the other villains and their respective nemesis, rinse and repeat.
Space Paranoids:
I have very little to say for this world.
It's essentially the same in everyway.
The only difference would be in the case of the story, which would see Sark getting whisked away by the villains after you defeat him during the second visit
Speaking of Sark, he doesn't have any of sort of new look and essentially is able to what he did during his boss fight now.
As for the characters looks, except Tron....
We all know how Sora, Donald and Goofy are gonna look in this world, so their friends will be rocking the look as well.
The World That Never Was:
Here we are! The final part of this entire post !
Although the story is largely the same here, there would be a brief sub-plot. Essentially, the Disney allies found out that The Council are here in this world, plotting to take control of the Kingdom Hearts when The Organization least expect it.
So the Disney allies decided to split off from our trio to handle The Council while they handle The Organization.
This would led to the series of boss battles where you actually get to play as each of the Disney allies in 1-on-1 battle against their respective nemesis.
Ass for how that plays out.
They have the same standard mechanics that Sora does.
As for how they fight.
The Attack Command allows you to use their standard attacks.
The Magic Command allows you to use their special, MP-costly attacks.
And The Drive Command allows you to perform each character's Limit.
The final boss of this sub-plot would be against Maleficent, with your primary character being Max while your two party members are of your own choice.
After defeating all the villains, they retreat (except for Barbossa, who just dies), vowing that they will be back soon and that they will have the Kingdom Hearts.
And that's the last we see of the Disney allies until the epilogue, where they reunite with the trio and the others on Destiny Islands.
So that was part 2 of the "If the Disney characters got to be important in Kingdom Hearts series"....series
This took a lot out of me to do, given how much bigger Kingdom Hearts II was in both content and story.
And I really had to make sure that the overall story was largely the same, while still keeping the Disney characters relatively important.
Anyway, I hope you guys liked this idea for an alternate KHII, and if you could, send me some ideas to implement for the other games!
