Jerry in "The Nutty Professor" 1963
My latest Jerry movie. I haven't seen it in ages and I just think Jerry is just a genius. I mean the man could do ANYTHING!! This movie is pure Jerry! And a side note, there's a little M&L reference. The dean of the college is looking for entertainment for the senior prom and he calls the names of a comedy team, and then says "I thought they split up". Jerry and Dean were in everything the other ever did after the breakup. They just couldn't help themselves, no matter how subtle the reference, it was still there. They just couldn't get over not being together.

A MOVIE SESSION WITH ELVIS PRESLEY 🍿
More than just watching the movies Elvis is featured, I believe many of us like to know what he knew... better saying, to experience some of the things he enjoyed - and that includes watching some of the movies he liked. Here's one of them:
Tumblr media
Today I crossed an interview with one of Elvis' fans (and neighbor) Shirley Connell [interview Youtube (min. 23:30)]. Shirley said she went to the Memphian many times to attend one of those movies nights with Elvis and his gang. At given point she brings up the fact of how EP highly appreciated Jerry Lewis' movies and how he also was a great fan of comedy, which I already knew but I had never given me time to sit down and watch one Jerry Lewis' movies myself. What made me consider doing so now was what Shirley said next: She watched The Nutty Professor together with the gang for about 14 times at the Memphian! Elvis really enjoyed this one movie, so I just had to see it for myself. I enjoyed it very, very, very much so I'd like to share it with the ones who didn't get to watch the film yet. It's a great movie, really. I've watched the remake featuring actor Eddie Murphy (1996), which I believe it's a classic of our own but the 1963 movie has a different vibe... it's a must see. Oh, by the way, Stella Stevens, one of the actresses who worked with Elvis in Girls! Girls! Girls! (1962) is also a part of the cast. Terrific!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(1) Elvis Presley as Ross Carpenter, and Stella Stevens as Robin Gantner in Girls! Girls! Girls! (1962); (2) Jerry Lewis as Professor Julius F. Kelp, and Stella Stevens as Stella Purdy in The Nutty Professor (1963). Both movies were produced by the same studio, Paramount Pictures, and filmed in the same year, although differ dates concerning their releases — Girls! Girls! Girls! was filmed in early 1962, from March to May, and The Nutty Professor was filmed from October to December 1962, therefore the latter would be released just the following year.
Anyway, here it is:
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗡𝗨𝗧𝗧𝗬 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗢𝗥 (𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟯) Dailymotion: PART I and PART II * There's subtitles in Greek but the video quality is great... so just ignore it in case you don't need it.
