My coasters for the 8th annual “Salut!” coaster show at Nucleus Portland! The show runs from June 11th to July 1st.
Tried a little something different and played around with colored pencils. Enjoyed the color blending and how the paper texture shows through.

i am devastated over succession’s finale to this day but i also don’t think it should or could’ve ended any other way.
if kendall had “won” he would’ve still lost. he might’ve been happy in his own way but he had already sold his soul for a chance at victory. in that way he would’ve lost no matter what happened.
the american people in the show already lost, no matter who took over as CEO.
the whole point is that it’s all bullshit and only roman realized in the end that they spent their whole lives killing themselves and each other and a whole country over meaningless bullshit and in lieu of dealing with their own traumas and faults.
there are no winners and there were never supposed to be any winners no matter what happened, as long as the corrupt toxic culture that was at the heart of waystar, and that the company kindled in the american public, remained untouched.
#it was really inevitable from the start that the wider arc of the show more or less had to be a tragedy#even if the show itself doesn’t nearly fit that genre#i have more to say about this tbh but the show is very good at portraying how a fractured family#with far too much trauma and corruption in its midst#ends up playing out its dramas on a wider societal scale where everyone else is forced to be a part of it unwillingly#and the people at the nucleus are unable to even be aware that that is what’s happening#the siblings are traumatized and hurt themselves and each other and the ramifications of that reverberate throughout a whole country and#that is the wider horror of the show too#and i am ultimately still so sad about kendall because he had many chances to break this cycle but he is too fucked up by it to do so#:((((#he tried and tried and lost everything in the end too#kendall roy#succession#hbo succession#queerasian.txt

#ramblings of a lunatic#the owl house#willow park#darius deamonne#this has always been my vision of their dynamic/how they parallel each other#IF we are to believe the dana gallery nucleus art that positions them as parallels#it's like. if darius was confident and sunny and bright as a teen but had problems showing vulnerability#possibly afraid of losing status/respect#then that lack of vulnerability followed him into adulthood making him the aloof person we know today cause he never had his ftf breakdown#BUT ALSO. i think abt this too. blights are just like oops! I'm gonns give this person massive abandonment issues!#this will make me feel bad too!! i will suffer because of this but i don't know other ways to live!!!#(at least. that's how i envision the darius/alador breakup i know it's very vague in canon)#(but like. compare how happy they were as kids to how miserable they can both be as adults. they are worse off for this)#i think it'd be neat if willow was the person who nudged darius back towards alador#bc she knows what it's like being hung up on someone you're convinced hates you. it sucks!!#and she's so so forgiving as long as she feels like the person she's forgiving is actually going to put in effort to change#(hence how after Amity follows through on her promise from understanding willow to not let Boscha bully willow anymore-#-IN wing it like witches THEN we see amity get to be a part of the best friend montage. she followed through and that proves she's trying)#(and then obviously hunter stuck his neck out for them with nothing to gain after her hurt them and that showed her that he can learn-#-and change for the better and hence she gave him that opening if he wanted it)#(it's still his responsibility to be a good friend but she'll try if he will. willows forgiving but she's not a doormat)#(and i feel like she wants to know the ppl in her life see her as someone worth improving for bc of her self worth issues)#ANYWAY that was a long winded way of saying she'd have a valuable perspective to lend to darius who seems to be similar to her in many ways#anyway what if i cried abt them

Sprinkles: Bark! Bark! (Alright, the next inani-mate bat is Nucleus, who resembles Test Tube, the participant who almost came close to having her own inani-mate, but couldn't, and talking about Nucleus who doesn't wear eye makeup either, she behaves like a test tube, but very obsessed with science and has a huge desire to do experiments, she is very intelligent and smart, she keeps looking from side to side for fear that there may be a big situation that she wants to resolve, she releases nuclear particles because it is the nucleus with confetti and gunpowder inside, which is how inanimate we are, we don't know why we were made with confetti and even gunpowder even though it was a chemistry experiment, who knows, right?)

thinking about the hornblower/bush pleading paragraph again and being reminded of a scene earlier in that same book where hornblower is trying to tell bush about how he can navigate and demonstrating the math for him and all bush can do is nod dumbly and admire hornblower's delicate and nimble hands
#not a direct quote i dont have the book on hand despite my attempts to find a copy. i gotta contact that bookstore#but its an early on chapter like 7 or so in lt hornblower and it was the first bit where i went OH I SEE NOW#cause id watched most of the show and had gotten 0 hornblower/bush energy from mutiny/retribution#and then i read lt hornblower and went oh! i see where you fuckers get it from actually. i see the nucleus of it here#lt hornblower is fully the gayest of the novels (of the ones i read which was through till flying colours)#next gayest was probably flying colours. when i finally read lord hornblower we'll see where that figures#but i assume lord hornblower WILL rank on the gay list. most of the books do not in the slightest#yknow actually beat to quarters and ship of the line rank too just bc of how often hornblower goes#'damn my lieutenant (not bush) is an attractive man. im jealous of him' are you horatio? something you wanna tell class#idr the name of the lieutenant but his entire role is to be hot and lean and good with women#so those rank. the others dont though these bitches got nothing#we may give a partial point to midshipman for having the character of archie kennedy for all of 6 lines over two chapters#where in his first appearance its just the two of them being dumb theatrical for no reason. its very cute
