The best part of the StS 2 Reveal Trailer for me is the lineup shot
Ironclad and Silent are both clearly in battle-ready positions, prepared to fight, and meanwhile the new character is like
HITTING THE SASSIEST POSE IVE SEEN FROM A SKELETON
She isn't just here to Slay The Spire, she's here to SLAYYYYYYYYY The Spire (Two)!

For context:
In observing how the phrase 'now hear me out guys' is used, and when the reaction meme (You know, this one)
is deployed, I note curious discrepancies in how people use them. If you give an answer, and have a strong opinion about its correctness, please, leave your reasoning in the tags/reblogs.

POST-TRAILER DROP STS2 THINKS
NEW ENGINE FUCK YEAH! Screw Unity!
"Expanded moddability" sounds very promising given how mod-friendly STS1 was.
1000 years in the future... this is an interesting detail. It'll be intriguing to see how the new Silent and Ironclad line up with their predecessors.
THE NECROBINDER HECK YEAH THAT'S HECKIN' METAL
Also her disembodied giant left hand is named "Osty"? Oh, I love her already. :D
The new art style is already growing on me. It seems just a little more colorful and softer-edged than STS1, and I say that in an approving way. It makes for a nice contrast with things lurking around like that giant polyp.

According to the screenshots on the steam store page, she's a Lich called the Necrobinder. I love her already
Okay so first things first
ITS HERE
SLAY THE SPIRE 2 IS HERE!
And now I talk about the trailer because I am SO excited for this and I want to speculate for once.
First off, it’s described as being a thousand years since the Spire last opened. Which combined with the redesign meant to me that these are not likely the same Ironclad and Silent as before, probably different people from the same clans.
Like, they look similar, but also quite different in certain ways. I’m not saying they CANT be the same characters, but I think it’s more likely we’re going to meet an Ironclad and Silent with sligkty more than tweaked decks and abilities.
My next question was “Where the Defect” because I love my busted robot friend and he doesn’t show up anywhere, but as @elesdecroisa pointed out you can see a Claw card in the Merchant’s Wares
So that brings me hope that Defect will return as well, perhaps changed in its own ways. After all, it’s been a thousand years, plenty of time to get fixed… or break a little more.
The other possibility is that that card has been given to another character, speaking of which
WHO ARE YOU?
Who is this person? Why are they so cunty? They have three things already, and that’s a giant blade, bones, and sass, and boy am I excited to see what they can do.

Yeah, this was right after the drop, before the Steam page went live (or before I knew about it going live anyway).
Also NECROBINDER? That's heckin' metal.
SLAY THE SPIRE 2 TRAILER THOUGHTS
A) That is clearly a different Spire. There was no town around the base of the first one. So Spireblight has affected the world via many of these things? Or did they somehow ascend to another world with the same problem?
B) No Watcher makes sense, since Watcher's presence seemed tied to the Time Eater. No Defect is somewhat disappointing - I miss my broken robot wizard son.
C) WHO is that cunty skeleton?!

Thoughts:
35/35 HP is really low to start with, and we can tell from the other screenshots that health numbers haven't been rebalanced across the board. Maybe Necrobinder has some starting Intangible or a way to increase her max HP?
That green bird has got to be an elite, right? 79 HP on floor 6 is a ton. It looks like it's used a Flex effect to boost its multiattack, which may or may not be related to the flag buff (maybe it summons chicks?).
Clad gets a new common attack and a new rare power; the others are old cards with updated art. I'm a little annoyed that Cleave is shown hitting a single enemy, but it also hints at a new mushroom monster in addition to/stead of the dead rat.
No Silent cards on display, but that knight with a magical shield is interesting. I'm guessing that he reduces your drawn cards when hit (maybe that's why her hand is empty?). The second relic is Snecko Eye, meaning that the player either got through Act 1 without picking up any relics or used console commands to set up these screenshots.
It's nice that they let the Merchant have a tent instead of setting up outside on the ground.
The spiky orange potion could be something new, or it could be a new look for the thorns potion (whatever that's actually called). Same for the blue card-shaped potion in the second screenshot—it doesn't quite match the color of the power potion from STS1. The others all look familiar: fear, regeneration, snecko oil, swift potion.
New relics! Ball of Hair, Evil Tea (Clad specific? I wonder whether it's counting turns or something else), Wanted Poster.
Enchant a card with Corrupted, you say...

Reblogging now that there's a new trailer
Called it! We see the Necrobinder with 66 and briefly 73 max health, so it really seems like she has access to a Feed effect. Something I hadn't considered is that this character also gains survivability by having the hand tank for her.
Called it! Green bird is an elite, as is the centipede and probably the big louse, which I always thought would make a neat Act 1 boss. The big glowing deer (elk? moose? idk, I'm watching this on a phone screen) seems more like a boss.
Lots of new card reveals and a few relics; fans have already cataloged these on Reddit, but I'm curious to see how the Doom debuff works.
Check out these potions! Strength pot/forge pot are recognizable, but that green ghost-shaped one could be either a ghost in a jar (originally pale purple in a normal-shaped jar) or something new.
Tremble also indirectly reveals some sort of simpering blue vegetable enemy.
??????? That color is spoken for, sir.

The character is the Necrobinder and she seems to be a Summoner.
Look at that low, low starting HP.

Last, and most exciting: Characters!!
My real question is, are these the same people as before. It could go either way, since it’s been a thousand years. Especially with Neow, the Ancient of Resurrection.
But look at them!
No more funky pants for the Ironclad, full armor as Neow intended! And a wicked looking sword to boot. And Silent is standing all the way up and ready to stab something.
And character animations! This looks like Silent just blocked an attack (badly)! Are there going to be more expressive and interesting animations now? How much?
And of course, the new Necrobinder! I love her already. What’s the forgotten corpse?? Why does she want it? Why does she have so much swag?
And she fights with her hand?
This massive thing? Did she steal it from a giant?
The Devs have said there will be a lot more lore in Spire 2, and I just can’t wait. Maybe I’ll write another story. Either way I’m going to play a lot.
Okay so first things first
