ROs reaction to MC/RO being pregnant with kids?🫠
For this, I’m going to have the female ROs pregnant since, with the exception of Dalia in the AD poly, none of them would be pleased to find a female MC who romanced them pregnant. Adys and Zara are excluded for obvious reasons lol.
Aariz is horrified when you tell him the news. He is a wretch. Brilliant, powerful, and a rising star in the King's Order, but a wretch. And he knows himself and knows he won't make a good father. He'll support you however you need, but in his heart of hearts, he'll think his child deserves far better than him.
(He's wrong, by the way. He'd make an amazing father. )
Dalia's emotions are a mixed bag. She's happy. So, so happy, but she also worries constantly. Is she doing the right thing by bringing a child — her child, and and the MC’s too — into this world? What if something goes wrong during the birth? What if she's not a good mother? What if—
She'll need a lot of reassurance and support throughout the pregnancy.
Ralys is pleased. This means an heir for her after all, and while she always has her sisters, an heir of her own body is better. It sounds cold to think about and colder to say out loud, but it's true.
And in any case, she thinks, softening, she is glad she shares a child, not just a political piece, with you. Duty is already a burden. To have it bound with love is a rare treasure.
Idar is overjoyed. He'll lavish the MC with gifts and embraces, take time out of this day to visit, and it'll be the only thing he talks about for a straight week once the news is revealed. He'll arrange for a great nursery in his manse, buy the best fabrics money can offer for his child, and await the birth eagerly. He's just happy to be there.
??? is terrified when she misses her courses. Dread hounds her at every waking moment. If it's the MC's, and it doesn't look like her... Her husband is no fool. He'll put two-and-two together. And gods, her daughter. If she doesn't die in the birthing bed, it'll be on a scaffold. And her sweet girl deserves to grow up with her mother, especially in this nest of vipers.
She never wanted children in the first place — at least, not by her husband — though she adores her precious daughter. She knows what she has to do. Covertly, via her most trusted, she calls for tea.
There will be a chance for children with someone of her choosing later, when it does not spell a death sentence. But now is not the time.
