I just need every single person in this fandom who has ever been mean about Luke Newton to know that Nicola Coughlan hates you. Genuinely and wholeheartedly.

She hates you. Sure, she won't say it aloud, because she's a professional who knows her career lives or dies by fans, but please know that she does. She hates you if you've said Colin gave you the ick, especially so if you said it to Luke, she hates you if you've left a rude comment on his social media, she hates you if you acted like she didn't like him or that she was shading him, she hates you if you bullied the people around him, she hates you if you said something disparaging about how he looks or how he acts, she. hates. you.

And sure, it's not all people who are in her or Pen's fanbase, in fact a lot of people have been cruel about him outside of the Polin fandom, but a LOT of people are Pen fans, and hearing her talking about how defensive she gets over him when people say something rude about him? And knowing there are SO many stupid opinion blogs and youtubers and tiktokers who say they're Pen fans and Nicola fans but are mean as fuck about Luke?

I need every single one of them, in particular those who have been out here making up stupid shit to be mad at him about 'on her behalf' to know that when you say something mean about the man she gushed to her Mum about, and who her Mum was so excited to meet because she just knew he was kind, the man she introduced to her entire family, the man she is always reaching for and hugging and snuggling up to and calling wonderful and giggling around and saying how she wouldn't want to do such vulnerable intimate scenes without and complimenting and leaning on and having fun with and calling a special person in her life, she is taking off her earrings and ready to meet you outside in his honor

#in the kindest way possible i think that some of your guys' queer microlabels are predicated on incorrect assumptions #about what is or is not typical of most people's gender and attraction.#you can call yourself whatever you want.#but just be aware that Straight and Gay and Transgender and Bisexual and Man and Woman and Nonbinary and other 'boring' labels #have always held capacity for more nuance and diversity than you've even thought to imagine #rigid definitions of queerness are a new and generally unhelpful development in the history of our community #and i promise that people before the internet era didn't just all have a simpler relationship with gender and sexuality than we do #again. you can call yourself whatever makes you most comfortable. that's the goal.#it just makes me feel weird when people demand or assign microlabels to historical figures or celebs who have not IDed themselves #or strangers on the internet/in their class.#apparently at my brother's very progressive middle school there is such a culture of everyone needing to neatly label themselves #that he just picked a sexuality to tell his friends even though he doesnt know #(which is pretty crazy because my middle school experience was only a decade off and a few miles #and there was definitely still homophobic bullying. but anyway)#i doubt that that's an uncommon story considering how you can log into tiktok #and find pages run by 11 year olds confidently stating a list of queer labels #people absolutely do figure out that they're queer/trans/gay at that age to be clear. kids been be queer and know it and that's incredible.#what makes me worried is kids feeling like they have to scramble to figure themselves out and clearly identify themselves to their peers #so they can be neatly categorized and as an expected virtue signal #<- is aware that this still isn't a problem in most parts of the world and that this is a much better problem to have #than homophobic bullying and internalized homophobia/transphobia #idk I'm rambling here

Everyone’s mad because His Man 3 popped the BL bubble

#his man 3 #but actually #the show skipped out on its gay experiences jenga this season #and it felt as if everything had become so insular within the His Man reality show universe #and suddenly this last episode throws the pairings into the real world #and shows gay experiences #and some of that is heartbreaking #and some of it is sweet and empowering #and some choose not to show us their experiences at all #and all of those things are part of being gay outside of a bubble #where people have jobs #and time together is harder to come by #and you become aware of what kind of pda and communication ur comfortable with #honestly very moved by hanmin and yj being willing to film and share that moment #but it’s really compelling beside the shots of ms and mk walking around in crowds holding hands #because it reminds u of what an isolated environment the show takes place in #and what kind of pressures occur that make it hard to achieve the BL fantasy relationships #hanmin stated his intentions and reasoning so clearly #and it absolutely gutted yj but it also frees him #to find someone who’s a better match for the reality of his everyday life #which is clearly busier than most based on both hanmin and mk’s statements #idk it didn’t feel forced to me except for the filming aspect of it honestly #but 🤷🏻‍♀️#hanmin #youngjoon

#IT WAS PROBABLY NOTHING BUT IT FELT LIKE THE WORLD: musings.#MAN IS BOUND TO LIE ABOUT HIMSELF: headcanons.#and he also wears cut-off shirts that may have like. rips in them or netting in the front of them due to the fact that one of the-#downsides of his transformation that is more like a minor inconvenience than anything is that he can no longer wear a lot of-#materials and so he kinddd of has to either make his own clothes or get a special tailor to make them for him? so yeahhh BUT he can also-#wear like loose clothing if he wants to completely cover up his rib cage for some reason. though no matter what he HAS to have some sort of #free range of movement for his tail bc it gets very irritated and stiff if it's like stuck in one position for too long / bound in some way #so that's why he has a habit of wearing partial / cut-off shirts and stuff bc he values comfort a LOT + this may have some implications-#behind it if/whenever he's imprisoned because you already know most people are NOT going to risk him having even partial rein-#over it's tail so they would make it so that he can't move it and wouldn't give a shit if it was uncomfy / eventually painful for him.#though blamore would CERTAINLY care and at least try to lash out at whoever's keeping him locked up (which coulddd theoretically be-#arkham since they do have special containment cells for those like Killer Croc and Man-Bat) but they would really have to limit his movemen #because trust me when i say if you allow it to still practice it's bone-manipulation then he is going to be planning each and EVERY-#person's decimation who put him there so... yeah. that's lovely ain't it y'all JSJSJ LMAO but again being compassionate towards patients-#/ inmates in arkham is something that DESPERATELY needs to be practiced though it's certainly missing most of the time from-#the place unfortunately.

(( Perhaps ironically for Miranda — she doesn't actually correct pronoun useage in the slightest.

Primarily this is because her using she/her is a formality to begin with, not something that she actually cares about or feels innately. It's a weird thing that was insisted upon her by landfolk and within their languages, and it's something that she understands they care about a whole lot. If anything, she feels more stress about getting other people's pronouns correct than her own, because it's a layer of politeness and proper behavior that never existed for her to begin with, that she has no idea how to clue in on in the same way that landfolk seem innately aware of, and something that she's all too aware of getting sharply corrected on.

To Miranda, having a landfolk use the "wrong" pronouns for her feels like nothing. She feels no kinship towards she/her or they/them, and she feels no kinship towards he/him or it/its or anything else in the same degree. They're all equally as wrong, she just picked one set to make the landfolk happy. She understands rationally that she should be upset about this, in the sense that, to landfolk, this is a great focus of proper address, but she also just really doesn't care. As a Merkingdom royal, all of her focus is on her people's titles and proper address among them, and even respecting landfolk's titles and claims feels like she's just humoring them and playing along without any real belief.

She might take offense at it/its, but this is seldom due to it/its specifically. Rather, if someone is just generically treating her as an animal or as a non-person, they're more likely to use it/its for her, and Miranda's outrage at being dismissed and depersonalized can look a lot like getting upset over being misgendered.
